Why are girls with autism always forgotten about? Here is why! There is an odd occurrence that happens in regards to autism in girls. Autism is three times more likely to be diagnosed in meals and is females, this is a statistic that almost highlights that is Miss three times more common in males and is females. But this is just not the case autism in females is probably just as common but all of the diagnostic criteria is set up and was set up and founded on research based on males with the condition. Also autism diagnosis in females may be the last thing that a doctor will actually pursue when investigating behavioural traits in a female, usually they will go for personality disorders or generalised anxiety. Here are three reasons why females are probably forgotten about on the autism spectrum. 1.Old Data Most if not all of the data that was created on the research of autism to create the diagnostic criteria was based upon research of meals with autism spectrum conditions, this does not translate females. 2.Different Diagnostic criteria When diagnosing girls with autism, there will be different diagnostician criteria to consider that is different to that of males on the autism spectrum. 3.Masking Masking is where Autistc women will mask their issues and difficulties to try to fit in during social and public settings. If you have anything to add please pop it in a comment below, I read and respond to every comment. Follow @TheAspieWorld for more autism content. Thank you, Jenny! It can be so hard for those of us with Autism who are girls because our Autism looks so different than what people usually associate with that label. Autism in boys and girls may as well be two different conditions! They present so differently and it makes it hard for women to get the help and services we need when people don't understand this.

Autism tends to be diagnosed at a higher rate in boys than girls. But why is that? Are there hidden signs of autism in girls that we're missing? Or is it something else? #autism #autismingirls #girlsonthespectrum: https://ift.tt/2B4lDZH

Here are 5 super interesting facts about autism you need to see! I love learning and knowing about the history and the development of autism research . I have collected a few of the interesting facts about autism and I am sure you are going to enjoy them. 1.History Autism was first studies in the 1940s 2.Name Change It was originally called early infertile autism, from the research done by Leo Kanner in the early stages. 3.More Common In Males? Autism is currently 3 times more likely to be diagnosed in males than females. There is a lot of skepticism around this due to the difference male top female traits 4.Diagnosis On The Rise There is a large increase in the amount of people diagnosed now, these could be factors down to a rise in understanding and a development in the diagnosis approach. 5.No Known Cause There is currently no known cause of autism, the only understanding of it is that it is genetic. Please leave a comment if you have anything to add. Also follow @TheAspieWorld for more autism content. Video: https://youtu.be/WzyQtf3LPPo?si=jXxtzpwn_7z-YFMr https://bit.ly/498H8p2

This is a super interestingly odd thing that girls with autism do!! We all know by now that autism isn’t exclusive to just males. But there are some very ingesting differences between the behaviour and theirs that makes display compared to females But above all else autism in girls displays this one very off but super interesting behaviour. That is: ‘Inappropriate Or No Facial Gestures’ Women with autism will typically display the wrong facial expression for what they are feeling and in some cases they will not display any gesture at all. This is all down to the fact that autism is a communication issue that develops neurologically. If you have anything to add please pop it in a comment below, I read and respond to every comment. Here are 3 super in testing Aspergers girl symptoms that you have not noticed before! Aspergers is currently 3 times less likely to be diagnosed in females than it is males, and there are a number of reasons for this 3.1 ratio. But regardless of the reason for the lack of females being diagnosed with autism as much as males with autism there are a number of traits that you can iconically pick out when researching and investigating if a person is autistic. I have laid out 3 of the most interesting traits of autism in girls that are usually overlooked. 1.Collecting Items Girls on the autism spectrum will be in most cases obsessive collectors of a certain thing, be it stuffed toys, books or a DVD collection of their favourite obsession topic. 2.Hoarding Object Relationship Women with autism usually have a habit of not being able to get rid of objects like shoes or certain clothes because of the relationship they have with the item, like the item seems to have a personality to them. 3.Not Emotionally Connected Girls with autism are more likely to not want to be hugged or have a Deep emotional connection as easily as neurotypical grils do. If you have anything to add please pop it in a comment below, I read and respond to every comment. Follow @TheAspieWorld for more autism content. Aspergers In Women 3 Reasons It Is Not Diagnosed (SHOCKING) Aspergers is 3 times LESS likely to be diagnosed in females, and this is the shocking reasons why! It is frustrating to see girls and women on the autism spectrum being misdiagnosed at first and rejected help and support they most desperately need. This is coming to a tide change in the community with the help and support of people advocating for change and major charities listening and pivoting on the issue. I have listed here 3 of the main reasons why the current diagnoses of females is 3 times less likely than that in males. 1.Old Research The original research on the subject of autistic and Aspergers was created back in the 1940s and this research was focused on behaviour in boys exclusively which overshadowed a lot of the years to come in terms of autism belief and research. 2.Professional Attitude A lot of the time misdiagnoses of autism in girls is due to the attitude of the medical industry and it is very rigid in the old way of thinking about autism in males. 3.Masking Females with autism are masters in the art of masking which is a way of covering up your autistic traits to seem ‘normal’ to other people as a survival technique. Of course this creates issues when an official diagnostician is trying to analyse behaviour. If you have anything to add please pop it in a comment below, I read and respond to every comment. AUTISM IN GIRLS - 5 Most Common Signs (YOU NEED To Think About) This is how you can spot autism in girls fast. The top 5 most common signs. Autism in girls can be difficult to diagnose because of the current system criteria for diagnosing people on the spectrum. There are some characteristics that are common in both males and females when referring to autism spectrum disorder but it is more difficult to diagnose people who are female because of certain areas of their characteristics. Here is the list of the five top most common characteristics that you can use to identify autism in girls. 1 Masking Masking is where someone will act like a different person in order to fit in in social situations and in gatherings outside of their comfort zone to fit in. But will struggle once they are home and in their own environment because of the stress and exhaustion from this masking. 2 Selective Mutism Lots of girls on the spectrum will have selective mutism where they will be unable to speak in certain social situations and retract from speaking in big public areas. 3 Obsessive Collection Lots of girls with autism will collect certain things this could be a series of books a series of DVDs or a series of their favourite make up or hair product that they become obsessed with. 4 No Cuddles Another characteristic of girls on the autism spectrum is the inability to want to be picked up when they are younger children and hooked on their younger children and also they may not like Huggs later on in life the older they get still wanting to avoid cuddling. 5 Difficulty Following Instructions Not this characteristic is common in both males and females but it is something to look out for when trying to see if email could be on the spectrum and that is the difficulty in following instructions laid out written or orderly asked of the person.
