Tonight is also a Supermoon - Full Moon at the moment of maximum or almost maximum approach of the Moon to the Earth - making this the largest and brightest Full Moon in 2023.

In addition, Saturn is now next to the Moon.

Needle-felted planets

A set of 9 needle felted planets (+sun) I made a while back for an art project. they were made using needle felting - an art form which involves knitting wool fibres together with a barbed needle, and with a styrofoam base.

The pictures don't exactly show their sizes properly - but they are somewhat to scale (I.e. pluto is smaller than all the others and the gas giants are bigger than the rock planets.)

The rings for Saturn and Uranus are just painted greyboard (like super strong cardboard.)

I really love how they turned out <3
