Cross-Bey Polls - 4: ARP - KIH

In Beyblade Burst, many of the people can be considered as equivalents to people from the Metal Saga or the original. They are also often considered to be weaker than the previous generation bladers. With that, I've made 7 polls of Burst vs. Metal/OG to see who comes closest to defying this. This is the fourth poll - High King of Inferno vs. Emperor of Destruction.

arthur, finally taking this opportunity to pretend as if he just found out merlin has magic after agonizing for the past month on how to bring it up: you have magic?

lancelot, merlin defender, already knew of merlin’s magic: no! i have magic

gwaine, merlin defender, already knew of merlin’s magic, lover of chaos, ride or die: no, i have magic!

mordred, desperate for his hero’s approval bc no matter what he’s done emrys just stares at him with distrust and the poor boy is tired and so close to tears: no…i have magic.

percival, raised by druids and bonded strongly with mordred over that and does Not agree with the persecution of magic in camelot, had an inkling that merlin had magic but no proof: no. i have magic.

*leon and elyan exchange a look, elyan, amused and leon, exhausted, elyan shrugs*

elyan, knows how much gwen adores merlin and completely understands her stance bc merlin…is merlin, down to clown and put on a show, really playing up the dramatics: no! i have magic.

leon, exhausted, has known of merlin’s magic since he stepped foot in camelot, knows of his feelings for arthur and arthur’s feelings for him, knows arthur knows of merlin’s magic and wouldn’t harm him, thinks everyone is being absolutely ridiculous:

*the knights stare hard at leon and even merlin looks slightly offended at leon not jumping to his defense with the rest of the knights, arthur hasn’t said anything and is staring at leon expectantly*

I always find the posts/fics where leons just so over witnessing merthur pining so funny. Like that man really had to see them from the start and the tension between them grow and he just had to sit and watch. Like I imagine every time a new knight joined they all brought the weird vibes up and leon each time was more and more over it.

Like it stared w lance early on being like

Lance: hey leon, is it just me or are arthur and merlin lowkey pining for each other

Leon: oh thank god! Someone finally brought it up, yeah theyve been like this for a while-

But then ended up as

Percy talking to the knights as they watch merlin and arthur bicker (read: flirt): ok but, does it seem like theyre fli-

Gwaine, sounding exhausted: yeah theyve been like this for a while

Percy: really? And theyve still not done anything about it?

Leon the long suffering, whose now had to watch them for almost 10 years: *eye twitch* nope.

No surprises that Ryuga emerged victorious over Lui. I can imagine Lui telling Lúinor to "crush that fraud" and then Ryuga instantly making Lui eat his words.

I must admit, I was taken by shock on a couple of them. Mainly the fact that more people who voted believe Phi is stronger than Rago, which by association means he would make Ryuga look pathetic. Even better is that the last poll with Phi saw him lose to Faust. Does that mean Faust would beat Rago if I did a poll for those two? (Rhetorical.)

Meanwhile, Shu is considered to be better than the blader who controls space-time and took both Gingka and Masamune to beat when Tempo was badly weakened. At full power, it makes those two combined look sad. Shu must be an incredible blader.

Arthur believes that only the strongest bladers are worthy of blading at all, and desires to rule the blading world based on power and darkness. Kira is very similar in that regard, with his long-winded talk about absolute power. It wasn't close, only one of them has the strength to back their claims up. It's the one with the abs, revealing clothing and androgynous looks (who was ostracised and bullied for them as a child).

Gwyn performed really well and came very close in a battle of the naturally talented geniuses, but Brooklyn had the edge and held on. Gwyn was in the lead for a good point. Think of a battle where Zeus is losing to Genesis. In an alternate outcome, that's what happened.

Lain had a minor comeback late on in the poll, no doubt fuelled by that Flare of his, but Damian generally dominated and won well. Lucius is based on Lucifer, the fallen angel often referred to as Satan. But being based on something isn't the same as actually being that thing. Damian controls the Beyblade equivalent of Hell.

Rashad had it hardest though, except for perhaps Arthur. Remember when Julian was humiliated by Damian? Well, Julian is handing it out this time. Emperor is higher than prince on the royalty scale. That holds true here as well. Rashad didn't get any votes at all until the latter half.

Another note, I was researching the battles between Bel-Pri and Bel-Rashad because all three of them seem to be around the same level, and made a ranking of them in different states. I documented the results of each one. Rashad was never seen with his true full abilities as Regnar was damaged in a battle with Belfyre. Even when damaged it still only lost by a hair and scored points against Belfyre at full tilt. That's why it lost to Valtryek in a somewhat one-sided match, and also why it ended up barely losing to Belfyre even after fully bonding with Rashad. I do think Valt would have won against Rashad if Regnar wasn't damaged, but it would have been a narrow win. I also think Rashad with a non-damaged Regnar would have won against Bel.

Bel's first battle with Pri was a ring-out for both, with Pri barely winning. It was similar in nature to Rashad's hair-line burst victory over Bel before Rashad chose to battle Valt. In their second battle, Bel tried the same Devastate Dive that Regnar stopped on its own while damaged and that was beaten by Glory Spear. Pandora survived but ended up having to dodge it and exposed an opening to use Lightning Crush and win with a burst. It seems Pandora wasn't able to hold its ground as much as a damaged Regnar was.

With all that in mind, here's my thoughts

Im just gonna make it a fancif instead. Its based on my cringy roleplays with the voices in my head.

Im also trying my new-ish-er style again based on anime (still bug eyed but the eyes are overly detailed) not the onlt thing changed! I slightly altered rhe main humans clothes (well tairitsu got a complete new look- based on her tempest outfit i think it suits her personality more lol) and i also added skin stealer staring at the camera like a funny cat 🐈‍⬛

Magic reveal in a terrible situation except whenever it's over and Merlin saved Arthur and the knights hes so tired and upset and angry and overwhelmed and he just sort of turns to denial and

"No." Merlin shakes his head slowly and then more sure.

Everyone looks at him appalled but before Arthur can even open his mouth, he's interrupted by tiny nervous giggles from Merlin rocking back and forth in front of them before stopping abruptly and looking up determinedly.

"No. You all-" he points at the knights (who only flinch a little thank you), "-are you going to pretend you never saw that and then- then!" Merlin says a little hysterically pointing at Arthur now who can't help but take a step back and the look in his eyes.

"You! Are going to wait and then when the time is RIGHT just like I PLANNED I will tell you I have magic! And it will be the perfect moment! And it'll be when I'm ready and I'll tell you everything and it'll be SAFE and and- and you'll be upset but you'll understand and this is just-" Merlin screams a little to himself making everyone's eyes widen.

Merlin looks down with his eyes closed and takes a long breath.

He looks up at them looking like he's about to cry before saying desperately in a small voice, "You guys didn't see anything, right?"

Silence greets him before Gwaine cuts in, in a much less boisterous voice than usual, "I didn't see anything." Looking at the knights beside him, he elbows Elyan in the ribs causing a grunt.

Wincing at the pain, "I don't know what you're talking about." Elyan looks at the others with a very obvious look of 'your turn'.

Percival shrugs solemnly, "I was blinded by the sun."

Leon looks hesitantly over to Arthur before straightening his shoulders, "It must have been a trick of the light."

Merlin's shoulders relax a little as he nods to himself before everyone looks to Arthur.

Arthur looks at his knights and then back to his trembling manservant before looking to the ground and then to the sky.

"We were simply lucky as we always are."

Merlin breaths and everyone ignores the tears falling down his cheek as he turns around.
