Arisu Ryohei

He’s so cute I can’t even

He loves to hold your hands anywhere you go, no matter what you’re doing

I think his hands would be so cold. I mean you would think they would be sweaty or something cuz he’s always nervous but like still.

He does not care if anyone teases him about your little relationship

Gives you cute corny nicknames like Honey, sweetheart, or my love

His favorite place to kiss you is anywhere on your face. He just thinks you’re the cutest being ever.

He begs you to play video games with him All. The. Time.

When you agree to play with him he gets so excited

He’s pretty good so he goes easy on you

If he sees you in any of his clothes he blushes so hard

She’s amazing literally

She would convince you to work out and go on runs with her

Even if your not a morning person, she tries to convince you to come with her

She loves to protect you during games. She truly will try her best

She knows it might be hard for you to keep up with her, but she wants you to stay close to her, to keep you safe of course

Don’t wear her clothes lol she doesn’t like it that much but she wouldn’t tell you

If anything she likes to take your clothes

She likes to kiss your forehead ofc

Her love language is words of affirmation!! She absolutely loves dropping them randomly

She could talk to you about anything for hours. Even when she’s not talking, she lives to hear your voice.

Calls you like “bitch” or something (in a loving way)

He teases you so bad

During the witch hunt he would get you to join his team or whatever it was

Like everyone else, he does his best to protect you during games

His hands are really rough but they’re still nice

It might not seem like it, but he hates getting into fights with you, especially when he knows he’s wrong but he could never admit it

If you beg for long enough I like to think he would let you put eyeliner on him if you make it look good (I want to see it tbh)

Description: Apparently raiding the department stores was everyone’s first instinct after the king of spades scare at Shibuya Cross. Now you’re stuck with only a cat hoodie over your inconvenient swimwear from the beach, and two unconventional cat lovers in a game of betrayal.

Walking up the dark stairwells, it leaves much to the imagination of what can be lurking behind the shadows. While you weren’t exactly thrilled to be joining another game, a face card game to top it all off, there were only 2 days left on your visa. Might as well try to clear one of the easier ones before they get sweeped by the card collecting fanatics.

And besides, it's less risky to play now then later when only the kings and queens will be left.

The Jack of Hearts it is.

Approaching the top of the stairs, the fluorescent light coming from the room above makes you feel dizzy, having spent most of the day bouncing around the alleyways and attempting to avoid the king of spades along with his shooting rampage.

Dammit..why did you have to split up with Arisu and Usagi? You haven’t seen them since a little before the absolute massacre that was the ten of hearts. They seemed to be the only people that were even slightly trustworthy in the borderlands, which really isn’t much of an accomplishment when Niragi Suguru exists, but still.

Stepping inside the illuminated room, you quickly slip on the hood of your fluffy white jacket, suddenly feeling self conscious when realizing players were already scattered about, watching who will be the next unfortunate victim in this twisted killing game.

You glance around, taking a few seconds to observe your surroundings. The center room that you and the other players stood in currently was circular, with yellowing walls splitting into multiple hallways. It was quite spacious actually, and there was even a second floor to accompany the large complex. However, it was just a tiny bit nerve wracking with the place eerily resembling a prison.

You focus on the wooden counter in the middle of the room, and also the tv screen on your left indicating the registration requirements.

{Each player must put on a collar in order to participate}

Ah yes, the fan favorite neck exploding collars.

Glancing down, there were only two more collars remaining, and strangely enough, there was a tiny circular screen on the front. You quickly reach for one of them, before freezing as someone’s hand brushed against yours, reaching for the same one.

In that slight moment of hesitation, they had taken the collar.

You looked up, a bit offended and half expecting a meager apology, but was met with a taller man wearing a neat blue button up, who only smiled in return.

You decided to just take the other one…and hopefully avoid him later while you’re at it. A few seconds pass with you trying to snap on the collar to no avail, and while you were frustrated, you didn’t want to ask for help from strangers.

Lucky for you, you didn’t need to ask, because the cold hand from before, who you now know belongs to the weird guy that just had to take your collar, gently took the collar from your hands.

“You’re putting it on the wrong way.”

He didn’t sound condescending like you thought he would, instead just putting the collar around your neck, the item making a metallic click sound as it securely snapped closed.

It took every muscle in your body to not flinch back from how cold his fingertips were when they made contact with your much warmer neck.

What is up with weirdos and having cold hands?

Chishiya also had cold hands.

Not that you ever held his hand, or thought about holding his hand, but you just knew.

“Oh, uh..thanks.”

At least the blue button up guy was helpful, more than the other people just staring.

You thought that concluded your painfully awkward interaction, but the man leans a little closer to your face and lowers his voice.

“My name is Banda. Banda Sunato. We should be friends.”

Yes, you could use a friend. A trustworthy one.

And you weren’t desperate enough to settle for Banda.

“Uhm..”

Banda waits for you to reply, and he really hopes you’ll be compliant. He just couldn’t help it, see, he just really liked…cats.

He hadn’t seen any animals since waking up in the borderlands, and the only thing he really missed from the ‘real world’ was his pet. So when he walked in and saw you in your cat-eared hoodie, all he could think about was how he wasn’t there to feed his cat (whom he creatively named Kitty)…and how easily blood can taint your white jacket.

Another smile seemed to grow on Banda’s face at your visible nervousness, but he wasn’t given long to appreciate it as a robotic voice filled the air from the speakers.

{The Game Will Commence}

Everyone’s attention was captured by the flickering tv screen that began displaying the rules.

{Solitary Confinement}

{Each round will last one hour. Players must guess the suit: heart, spade, diamond, or club displayed on their collar by the end of the round within five minutes. Players must report their answer inside a cell of their choosing.}

Murmurs arose around the room, and you instinctively reached up to touch your collar, now realizing that the tiny circular screen was on the back of your neck.

And everyone else’s.

{Failure to do so will result in a Game Over.}

{Clear condition: Eliminate the Jack of Hearts hidden among the players.}

{Time limit: None. All player’s visas will be frozen throughout the game. Enough food has been provided in the cafeteria.}

You share the same look of shock as many others, the thought of staying here for a long period of time leaving a bad taste in your mouth.

{Round one: Start}

There was a countdown that began immediately on the screen. People were starting to talk about the rules, and you remembered that you were still standing next to Banda. He seemed to be listening in, and you took the chance to scurry away before he could try to talk to you.

Multiple voices engaged in conversation, seemingly suspicious of the simple nature of the game.

“Well this is easy. We can just tell each other our suits.”

“But the rules mentioned that the Jack of Hearts is one of us, wouldn’t they lie to make us lose?”

“Meaning, this game would go on forever unless someone lies to the Jack.”

The last stranger's voice makes your eyes widen, looking around the room until they land on a figure leaning against the wall, arms crossed.

Chishiya.

He was alive, with his clean white summer hoodie and calm demeanor, completely fine even after the destruction of the beach. You weren’t exactly close per say, but a few interactions here and there and it was impossible to forget him.

Someone like Chishiya stood out too much, and you didn’t know whether it would be better or worse for him to remember you or not.

You might’ve stared a bit too long, because when everyone began to disperse and form their own little alliances, Chishiya caught your eyes, raising his eyebrows and grinning when you looked away again.

“Hey.”

You jump, feeling a hand grip your shoulder from behind.

It’s Banda, and he’s amused at your jumpiness by his presence.

“What do you say? Let’s be useful to each other.”

His way of wording things made it sound as if he lacked understanding of how human relations worked on the surface level. Can you really trust a man like Banda?

“Oh, I-“

Someone else butts in, stepping in next to you.

“Actually, that’s my partner.”

You held your breath when Chishiya, still full of as much audacity as the day you met him, pursed his lip and waited for Banda to back off.

Banda’s expression was unreadable, looking over at you for confirmation.

“Really? I haven’t seen you two talk at all.”

Oh.

So, Banda has been watching.

Chishiya prepared to say something else, but another small voice sounded a few feet away.

“Oh uh..”

A boy wearing a yellow striped shirt and overalls looked at you nervously, then looked back on the floor.

Chishiya and Banda glanced at each other, then at the boy, as if saying ‘what?’.

The boy bowed politely, addressing you.

“I-I was wondering if you would like to be partners!”

The two men beside you scoffed, not really expecting a third competition. But it wasn’t as if you'd pick Mr.Overalls who randomly came up over them, right?

“O-oh yeah, sure.”

Both of their smirks drop.

One of the things I had to come to terms with, as a manga reader is that in order for me to fully enjoy the live action adaption of Alice in Borderland is for me to sepparate Manga Chishiya and Show Chishiya as two different characters.

Some things change during adaptions, that's inevitable, but AiB did such a remarkable job at keeping (and sometimes elevating) the core concepts of the source material, I fear I may have grown a bit spoiled.

Take Kuzuryuu for example. In the manga, Kuzuryuu was the dealer for the 4 of clubs (which Arisu and Usagi don't participate). He plays the part of the inured player who needs to stay in the bus, there he meets a kind woman who refuses to leave him behind and stays on the bus with him. In the show, he meets the 4 of clubs survivor, the guy Arisu saved, who in an effort to pass on Arisu's kindness, saves Kuzuryuu himself.

Even if these are altered scenarios, the core of it stays the same. Through the 4 of clubs, Kuzuryuu finds that kindness and altruism are possible even in the borderlands (something he believed to be impossible).

Chishiya on the other hand, has his core aspects changed.

One thing I have touched a lot on ever since season 1 came out was the decision they made to switch Arisu and Chishiya's specialties. Arisu is a hearts specialist who in the show becomes a diamonds player. Chishiya is a diamonds specialist who is changed into a hearts player.

This fundamentally changes both of their main arcs as well as the way they paralel each other. Chishiya suffering the most for it. In the manga, Chishiya is fully incapable of understanding hearts games. He doesn’t deal well with them to the point where he never actually solved the witch hunt. He was never part of the Jack of hearts in the first place.

Manga Chishiya was neglected from e very young age, to the point where he doesnt remember what it's like to properly emote or empathize with people. His own complicated relationship with his father causes him to view every relationship he has as transactions. He's cold, to the point of denying a dying man his last wish only because it was inconvenient for Chishiya to help him.

Show Chishiya used to be an empathetic person. He went into pediatrics. He cared for his patients. The medical industry had beaten it all out of him to the point he had been numbed to his own feelings. He's alone and scared to be alone.

Now, I don't particularly dislike this adaption of Chishiya. After the initial shock, I came to the conclusion that the show's writing team had been really smart about the way they went with his character.

Especially considering that Chishiya is a fan favorite, it makes sense that the show writers would want for him to remain desirable and lovable to the audience. Manga Chishiya as complex and fun as he is, is a really dislikable character. Choosing to give Chishiya that hearts speciality, that softer side, managed to keep him likable even as he acted like a anti-hero.

It's also my belief that this was a season 2 choice, as in season 1 he acts pretty similar to his manga self. Which is why you can see the disconnect in his characterizartion between both seasons.

So yeah, once I let go of the manga a little bit, I was able to fully appreciate the work they did for the character in the show. AiB is a wonderful adaption and it deserves a lot of love and praise.

ok, i have a VERY weirdly specific scenario i thought of which i thought would make a great imagine.

hear me out, maybe the reader has a sort of scenario the same as arisu after the queen of hearts game where he’s in the bar with karube and chota, except maybe its the reader saying her last goodbyes to karube who she dated before the games?

idk if that’s not what type of request you’re looking for, just a weird scenario i thought of!

this has me shaking and crying and punching the air. karube has been one of, if not my favorite character, in the entire show, so this punched me in the gut 😭 thanks for the request and for breaking my heart anon.

your happy ending — karube daikichi

your heart had felt empty for a long time.

though, you would be lying if you said that you didn't let out a sigh of relief when mira died. not because you wanted her to. no matter how cruel she was.. no one deserved a death like that. not even her. a part of you felt like she was a victim too. if you were honest with yourself.. she probably was. even though it felt good to be free of the hell you found yourself in for so long, you thought of her. kyuma, too.

you remembered chishiya, who had gotten shot twice trying to protect the people he cared about. he wouldn't have done that before. he was so.. different. things had changed within him. he was becoming even more difficult to read.

you thought of arisu, who stood shakily next to you, holding usagi's hand in his own. the two of them deserved their own happy ending— and you were certain that they would get it now.

a happy ending.. right.

you wouldn't be getting one of those.

you were unlucky. you knew that. you felt it from the moment you had your first coherent thought.

but he was.. he was lucky.

he was your good luck charm. your sweetheart. he was your everything, and now he was gone. you could only picture his beautiful face in your mind. his smile and his generous heart lived on only in your memories.

you wouldn't get your happy ending with him.

the world was cruel. you were well aware of that fact, too. the universe always took the kindest people first, and you wished that it were you instead of him that had died that day.

you looked towards arisu, and somehow, you could tell he was thinking about him too. karube and chota, both. they were his closest, most trusted friends. they died.. and he lived. he would have to live with that guilt for the rest of his life. no matter how many times you reassured him that it wasn't on him, he wouldn't listen. he was too stubborn.

"now, all surviving players will be given a choice." the voice had sounded like nails on a chalkboard now, but still, you looked towards the sky and paid attention. "please select whether you will accept permanent residence in this land, or if you will not." the voice rang through your mind, and you let out yet another sigh of relief.

"i.. don't think i'm going to." you spoke up, turning your head to look at arisu and usagi. his grip on her hand tightened and you felt a pang in your heart. you could only wish that things were different.

"i.. don't want permanent residence." usagi breathed out, a warm and gentle smile on her lips as she stared at arisu. he repeated her sentence back to her, with an expression on his face that you could only assume was similar to hers.

you felt as though time had stopped for a moment.. and you closed your eyes.

"are you sleeping?"

you blinked a few times, trying to force your eyes open. you recognized where you sat. it was karube's couch. one you found yourself visiting more often than you'd like to admit. his apartment was a safe haven for you. he had told you once to come whenever you like, and you took his words literally, even if he probably didn't mean it at the time.

your eyes focused, and you looked around. everything was the same. the tv that sat in front of you, the messy kitchen in the corner of your eye. what was happening?

you turned your head, expecting to be met with the door that had led to the balcony, but you were greeted with something much better.

your boyfriend's face.

he had a playful smile etched across his face, and your expression softened. your eyes widened. you felt the urge to reach out for him. was it a dream? was he still with you? "come on, i don't have you speechless already, do i?" your boyfriend's voice rang out as clear as day in your ears, and you let out a shaky breath. was this a dream? a nightmare? a game to physiologically torture you?

"daikichi?" you finally uttered his name, and he nodded. he was just as beautiful as the last time you'd seen him though.. this time he had something of an ethereal glow. you were probably imagining it, too focused on his presence to care about things that didn't make sense.

"oh, daikichi.." you hummed, gathering the courage to reach out for his hand. your fingers didn't move right through him, no. you were met with skin. he was really there, sitting in front of you with that same grin he wore on his face every day.

you could feel tears well up in your eyes at the sight of him, the realization of him being real sinking in after a few moments. "i've missed you so much." you lifted his hand to your lips, pressing a kiss to the back of it gently. it felt as though he would break. "mm. don't want blurry vision." he chuckled, wiping your cheeks with his thumbs, "i missed you too." he chuckled, quickly taking you into his arms after looking into your eyes for a few seconds.

you sank into his touch, your arms easily wrapping around his neck as they had done so many times before. this couldn't be a game, you told yourself. he was really there in front of you. you pulled away from the hug after a few moments of sitting in silence, your eyes closed as you took him in.

your gaze flickered back and forth between his lips, and he raised an eyebrow, "come on. kiss me."

you leaned towards him suddenly, pushing him back against the couch. you pushed yourself up, your hands resting on either side of his head. you admired him, taking in every detail of his face. his smile, his eyes.. everything. after another few seconds, you pressed your lips to his. his hands rested on your waist, holding you tight. it was almost as though this would be your last kiss. you didn't think about that. he was real, and you would enjoy the moment. he squeezed your sides, humming contently against your lips.

he pulled away first, easily slipping his hand to your face. he brushed your hair behind your ear, "so beautiful." he hummed, looking to be in a daze as he stared up at you. you only laughed, nudging him playfully as you sat back up. you pulled him up with you, enjoying his touch for as long as you could.

"i don't want this to end." you told him, and suddenly the smile on his face was replaced with a frown. small, yet noticeable. "what's that look for?" you asked after a moment, and he pursed his lips.

"you have to let me go." he spoke, his eyes meeting yours. "what are you talking about?" you laughed breathlessly, furrowing your eyebrows. "you know." karube replied without missing a beat, gesturing to his neck. "no.. no." you whispered out to him, your throat feeling dry. "it was over, daikichi.. it was over." you continued, shaking your head.

"i know, baby," he muttered, taking one of your hands in his as a way to attempt to comfort you. "but you have to let me go." he spoke again, and you shook your head. "i can't. i can't.. i can't just let you go. i can't do it." you countered, and he let out a sigh, squeezing your hand.

"you remember our first date?" he asked, seemingly out of nowhere as he noticed the tears forming in your eyes. you nodded, blinking a few times. why would he bring it up now? "remember i took you to the movies.. i even did that stereotypical movie date move," he chuckled, removing his hand from yours to wrap it around your shoulders, repeating what he had done on your first date together.

"you were so into it that you accepted my offer for a second date." he laughed to himself, squeezing your shoulder with his hand, pulling you closer to his chest. "and i remember this time.. i was so nervous. i never went to fancy restaurants so, i.. i remember putting on that suit and staring at myself in the mirror, telling myself i looked really stupid in that suit." he continued, his voice lowering to a soft whisper.

"then i got there and your eyes nearly popped out of your skull." he nuzzled his head against your own, and you rolled your eyes. "no, they did not. i just said you looked good." he laughed at your words, but shook his head. "you should've seen your face, baby. i swear, your eyes were so far out of your head. your jaw was on the floor."

"oh, come on." you muttered, forgetting entirely about what had happened before. "it was not. you just have a massive ego."

"one that you fueled with that expression." he shrugged, lips pressed together in a smile. you rolled your eyes, and you fell silent.

"i don't.. want to let you go, daikichi."

"i know you don't." he took in a shaky breath. "if it were up to me.. i'd keep you here forever and we'd live in our own little world."

"why can't we do that?" you asked, a frown forming on your face as you looked up into his eyes. the look in your eyes was nearly enough for him to start crying himself.

"it's not your time yet." he replied. "you have a whole life to live. and.. when it's over, i'll be right here." he hummed as though his words were some that were spoken every day, and you pulled yourself out of his grip to look at his face.

"i can't just let you go. i can't do it."

"i'm not asking you to forget about me. about us," he said, "the live we could've had." he looked away from you and out the window, reaching into his pocket.

he pulled out a small box, and you furrowed your eyebrows. he turned his attention back to you after a few seconds of contemplation.

"i had everything planned out," he whispered, opening it with a bittersweet smile. inside was a ring.. a beautiful one, one that you assume he'd picked out himself. "i had this entire proposal planned. it was gonna be at the bar. obviously." he shrugged. "where we first met. i had a speech. i was ready and willing to confess my love to you in front of all of those people." he laughed breathlessly, blinking a few times.

"the marriage? i had the perfect image in my mind. i would've had two best men.. because i knew i wouldn't be able to pick between chota and arisu," he laughed, "and i would be wearing that same suit that i wore when you fell in love with me."

"oh, please."

"what?" he chuckled.

"i didn't fall in love with you when you were wearing that suit."

"when did you, then?"

"right when i met you," it was your turn to shrug, "i saw you behind the bar and thought to myself.. i have to try. i have to get his number or something. you asked me for mine first, so i didn't have to." you laughed at the memory.

you remembered how he looked that day. you remembered his smile as you walked into the bar, directed right at you. you could feel your heart skip a beat at the sight of him.. and it was then, you knew.

"you really wanted to marry me?" you spoke up again after the room fell silent. "of course i did." karube replied without hesitation. "you were the only one for me. and you still are."

"but you still have to let me go," he continued with his previous conversation. "i don't want you to forget all of that. i always want you to think of me and get all flustered.. have that same silly grin on your face like you always did when you saw me." he chuckled.

"i want you to feel okay moving on. you deserve to.. to live a happy life with someone else. you don't need a dead boyfriend holding you back from that happiness."

you had nothing to say to that.

"you promise me that you'll at least try? i want you to be okay with someone else other than me." karube continued even with your lack of a response, and you nodded wordlessly.

"good," he pulled you close to press a kiss to your forehead. "and when the time's right.. i'll be right here waiting for you." he reassured you with a smile, and you found the strength to return it.

were you foolish for believing he was alive, even if it was for a split second?

"you'll have your happy ever after." he whispered, taking your face in his hands. "i promise." he chuckled, noticing your worried expression. "i'll find you again, baby. i will." karube reassured you with a gentle smile, and all you could do is nod.

you took his hands in yours, leaning forwards to kiss him again. he met you in the middle, his eyes closing as soon as your lips touched his. you melded together perfectly.. in every way. he was your soulmate. there was no erasing that.

you wouldn't ever be as happy with anyone else as you were with him. you knew that. but he wanted you to feel okay moving on, and you knew that, at some point, you would be.

he pulled away and looked into your eyes.

"i love you." he whispered.

"i love you more."

your entire body was sore. you noticed that as soon as you opened your eyes and were met with the blinding lights of the hospital room you laid in.

the silhouette of a nurse stood next to you, and she greeted you with a warm smile. "how are you feeling?" she asked you politely, looking up at the screen in front of her to check your heart rate before returning her eyes to you. "everything hurts." you mutter, and you earn a laugh from her. "we can take care of relieving some of the pain but.. for now," her smile turned into a bittersweet expression.

"i am sorry for your loss."

you felt a pang in your heart at your words, and you finally looked into her eyes. you felt so weak. so.. frail.

"he had this," she held a small box in her hand out to you, "in his pocket. the paramedics insisted you have it." she whispered out to you. "he seemed like a kind young man."

"he was." you cut her off before she could say anything else, taking the box out of her grip after a few seconds of staring at it.

"i'll.. leave you alone. press this button if you need anything, okay?" her voice was kind, and you managed to send a small smile her way before she shut the door to your room behind her.

you knew what it was. you had seen it..

you opened the box and the same ring karube had shown you was inside. you couldn't help but to laugh, letting your head fall back on the pillow for a moment. you forced yourself up again, taking it completely out of the box.

"yes." you whispered to the sky, slipping the ring onto your finger with a bittersweet smile.

"yes."

My Problem With The Fandom's Treatment Of Niragi; And Why His Fans Are Apart Of It.

Wow, a controversial post about a controversial character! Have fun reading and leave your opinions in the comments or reblogs, remember we are all human beings, thanks:)

Let me preface that I absolutely DO NOT CONDONE HIS ACTIONS and you are able to like/enjoy a character without agreeing with their actions or what they stand for, which brings me to my first point: he is not a good person in any shape or form, he does not have decent morals, and he is not a good. person, but no one in the show is. 1. The Gray Morality Of The Characters In Alice In Borderland

This is something I had caught on to by I think near the end of the first season, and it was reinforced throughout the second season of the show, let's take one of the most beloved characters, Chishiya, as an example: his character obtains a large favoritism boost because of the handsomeness of the actor he was played by, which is an unfortunate curse that many medias face, I say curse because most of these characters are separated from their complexity, and the only striking factor they posses is how physically attractive they are.

Chishiya Shuntaro, while not the main character, has quickly become a fan favorite because of the reasons stated above, now let's look at what makes him a really good antagonist (please note: I will be comparing both the LA and manga!); to start off, he is incredibiy selfish, a trait one must have to survive the games, he is shown to be a very "lone-wolf" type of character since his first few seconds of screen time, despite having Kuina by his side, which is a change that differs from the source material, likely made to have him appear as more likeable; in all the games we see him in season one, he is almost never in a group for more than a few seconds, in the hide and seek game, he wanders off to search for a high position to watch over the players and how the shooter moves, thus isolating himself. He does not view the players as people, surviving in his same situation, but rather shields, guinea pigs, chess pieces, anything that he can manipulate; he makes Arisu trust him enough to manipulate him in the 10 of Hearts game, and does not care of the known consequences that Arisu will face for that. The whole thing about his character in the first half, is that he cares only himself surviving, at the cost of other people, no matter who they are.

He lacks empathy and simpathy, well withing the entire season and the first half of the second season, I dislike this season in regards to how they handled his character, before reading the manga, I was not aware of how many panels were left out that showed, empathized his selfish nature, instead putting him in a game he wasn't even apart of in the first place, all for the sake of some sympathy towards him: all in all, I did like the Jack Of Diamonds game and understand why the writers chose this path for him, and Ippei's interactions with him were a good parallel (and a possible moral dilemma) for him, Ippei was sweet, selfless and caring, traits Chishiya does not have, they end up forming a bond that is quickly cut off because of Ippei's sad death, he acknowledges the boy's kindness, and then returns to his former self; he does not show any more compassion, until a crucial game. The King Of Diamonds was also a game that could have been done a bit better in my opinion, yes it's still a great arc, but it neglected a very important dynamic with a character; Daimon, though again, very short-lived, the interactions with her showed that Chishiya does not inheretly hate humanity, more so he does not care for it, most of the time. Kuzuryu was done well, he revealed a worldview that Chishiya was blind to until then, and actually feels something rather than indifference for the ex-lawyer's death.

Arisu, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of Chishiya, he's the protagonist that would be deemed "morally white" and he is at the start, but his morals have changed in the course of the show, because who does not adapt does not survive: he is a very emotional character, he lets his heart speak rather than his head, this is shown to be a disadvantage, as he gets manipulated easily, but it is also why Arisu gained allies in almost every game, because he was able to show compassion towards other people, he cared about saving others, even if it put him in danger. He suffers for every death he comes across, blaming himself for it because he believes he could have done something, but that does not mean that he's not morally gray; Arisu, for the most part, is stuck in a toxic cycle of self-hatred, which lead to him either shutting down or having miscommunication with the people he cared about, like in the King Of Clubs.

Niragi, in contrast to the other two characters is A VILLAIN. A villanous character is meant to oppose the main cast and bring constant or reaccuring conflict to the story, they have twisted morals, selfish motives, and a foul mouth: this character does things that the audience is SUPPOSED to be against, whenever something happens, the audience is actively NOT supposed to condone it, a villain is meant to be disliked, but it's not the end of the world if he does end up being liked. Niragi Suguru is an extreme of that stereotype, his worldview is animalistic, he sees people as weak, things to prey upon, which is why he attempted to prey on Usagi during the panic of the game in the end of the first season: again, I am no way defending his actions or justifying him, he's a terrible person who committed terrible things, but he is an extremely well-written character. Niragi does not start off as what he is currently, pre-Borderlands, HE is the person people prey on, he is put in vulnerable situations that often cause him to be physically injured, and no one cares, therefore his anger goes unchecked, untreated which leads to mental health issues: before the Borderlands, he is not agressive, he is not assertive, he is not power hungry, he was a victim of serious, repeated bullying that went unseen by people he was meant to trust: in the Borderlands, there is NO law, NO social etiquette, just humans fighting for their lives, this is where Niragi gets the confidence he lacked all those years, this is where he becomes the predator and ceased to be the prey.

2. Niragi's Fans

Niragi is physically attractive, his actor is pretty, apperently that's enough to be defended for, and the reason why someone could possibily not hate his character to death. Liking a character based on looks solely should not be considered liking them at all, and it should absolutely NOT be defended, especially if the character is in the wrong: when people talk about the fans, it's mostly in a mean way, as most of them like him for his attractiveness, not all of them, most. which is why both the character and whoever admits to liking them, is looked down upon at best, receiving death treats is rather expectable at this point, that's not the only reason though; a large majority, if not everything, on the Niragi tag is NSFW-related, no character analysis, no character quotes. Just. Smut. I find it revolting for a character, any character, to be reduced to physical pleasure, there's rarely fluff and EVERYTHING is x reader. He did not have that final scene with Chishiya + that character development realizing he was at fault for his actions to be reduced to a sexy bad boy.

TLDR; I'm too emotionally attached to this burnt man so I'm mad about people not seeing him as a character.

Hii, what did you think of the way Netflix portrayed Kyuma in Alice in Borderland? :)

Hey! MIXED OPINIONS. I liked the actor well enough, however, they didn't give him the essence that makes the character Kyuma. Kyuma was a performer and an escapist. On the Earth realm, he was trying to become a rock star so he left behind his old life in order to do so, vowing to return when he made it big. He wanted to return to his father, but in that time, his father passed away. Ginji learned that life was short and vowed to live his life to the fullest. He has an understanding of the passage of time and how valuable your time is but he also understands that you need the fear of death in order to really live. One of my favorite things about him is that he is very wise and has basically reached a level of growth that most don't get. He's authentic to himself in everyway, whether that he going fully nude or speaking from the heart. He's done with all the bullshit of small talk and playing games. He wants everyone to see their own authentic selves so that they can learn to understand each other. He does everything with a kind of joy that's inspiring but also a bit strange. He's loyal and fair above all else and that builds a kind of bond between teammates that is unbreakable. They all understand the risks, they don't see him as above them, they know he would die for them on equal ground.

Honestly, the show disappointed me in many ways which was expected but Kyuma has grown on me. I know that the creators were attempting to make things more relatable to the general audience so they made him more grave and serious because most people in that situation would be, but they took away his spark just a bit. The point is, he is made for that world. He chose to stay there because there is a sense of freedom he can't find on the Earth realm. Modern society is so intricately built on bullshit and walls but in this world of life and death, you get to know someone's true authentic self through pain, loss, love, partnership and it's very real and beautiful and horrifying. Kyuma isn't against the other world, he just knows he fits this one better because the things he values are here. He thrives in the extremes. He can be realistic and eccentric at the same time. And they definitely showed that but with a slightly different energy. He's calculating and calm in the show, but he isn't as vibrant as he should be. The lines are generally accurate for the most part but the way he introduced this game in the manga was bright and almost excited while as in the show, there's a coolness to it. He doesn't show his emotions as freely. There's a bit of a shock factor when he walks out naked that's never really discussed versus the manga where he has a sort of playful energy and his team tells him to put on pants. He goes through this whole thing about nudist culture which doesn't have to do with the game but he uses the games to help them understand each other. I like that he does point out that one of his team mates designed the game. He gives recognition to those who deserve it which is very Kyuma. I love that when Arisu's team is confused, he explains the game to them in a new way. He's vaguely nonchalant about things and doesn't seem rushed or bothered which is Kyuma but in the manga, he tells them to take their sweet time and says that they are in no rush, with a smile on his face. His team was portrayed nearly perfectly and I liked the music that went with it.

I am very disappointed that the scenes with Kyuma and the other kings and queen were left out. I think those were incredibly important to show the mentalities of these citizens and to leave them out is an injustice. I really wished Arisu's identity crisis was more internal so that we could have the scene with Kyuma giving him advice on how to find himself because God was that needed. I've been where Arisu is at and Kyuma literally helped me find myself through his advice. So while the adaptation was good, they left out many important parts of his character that I believe were crucial. And God do I love this character.

Theory for AIB S3

After a rather short while of going back and rewatching S1 after finishing S2, I began extensively analyzing everything in the show regarding characters and what we now know from S2.

Before I go any further, I would first like to point out there will be spoilers for Alice in Borderland S1 and S2 following this. I would also like to point out that Chishiya is my favorite character and I’m pretty sure it will show in the following paragraphs.

Theory

When I first started contemplating this theory, I thought it was too on the nose for what we’d already seen from the show. However, the more I thought about it and analyzed my supporting evidence, the more it seemed to be perfect with how S2 ended.

So, we know that two of the executives from The Beach were Game Masters of Face games in the new season, Keiichi Kuzuryū (King of Diamonds) and Mira Kanō (Queen of Hearts). We also know that once all the games have been defeated, all surviving players are given a choice: To become a permanent resident of the Borderland or to deny the offer.

I believe that Last Boss will be the Game Master of the Joker card.

Supporting Evidence

S1E7: The Beach has become a killing ground and game tournament for the 10 of Hearts game. Kuina buys Anne time by engaging in combat with Last Boss. During this fight, we get to see glimpses of both Kuina and Last Boss’s pasts as well as learn that Last Boss has never felt more alive than in The Borderland playing the games. The last clip we see of the fight, is a final blow from Kuina and her giving a nod to what her father had taught her.

S1E8: The game continues, Arisu exposes Aguni for the death of Hatter, and all hell breaks loose once again. It isn’t until the dealer of the game reveals herself to distract Aguni and give Arisu the advantage to finish the game, that we find out that Niragi survived Chishiya’s jerry-rigged flamethrower (it was honestly very impressive and very enjoyable to watch). Hellbent, Niragi tries to continue to mow through the final survivors of The Beach, but is finally apprehended by Aguni, and the two disappear into the smoke from the fire with only two gunshots signaling the end of that battle. When the final survivors of The Beach finally complete the game, we get a final glimps of Last Boss, still alive in the burning building that is The Beach.

S2E2: To my surprise, and I’m sure everyone else’s, the disgusting scum of a human, Niragi shows up at the King of Clubs game, already registered and now forced to team up with Arisu and his group.

S2E4-E5: Aguni also miraculously survived the fire at The Beach.

S2E8: The final clip we get of this season was the entire 52 cards of the deck on a table. A wind picks up and blows off all the cards leaving one, The Joker.

Also with going back and rewatching S1 and analyzing Last Boss and his mannerisms, he’s a very animated sociopath. Especially in the fight scene against Kuina, the maniacal laughter, toying with her like a cat with a mouse. He even said so himself, he never felt more alive than in the game.

so binged alice in borderland from mid s1 to the end. mixed thoughts about it overall-- cut for spoilers & not a 100% positive response

the heart games all packed a huge punch. the burn-the-witch/beach episodes were some of my favorite between both seasons and the jack of hearts games was so simply cruel in a great way

the king of clubs game eps were probably my favorite in the series. i loved the team element, the mixture of psychology and action, the opponents were fun, and the game mechanics were interesting

i liked that, for the most part, none of the games had loopholes to get out of them. they might have had mechanics twists, but i really enjoyed how everyone had to play by the rules--players and citizens

kuina + ann, my beloveds. ft. chishiya

i like that arisu isnt involved in every single face card game/some of the side characters or even background characters clear those stages without him

i loved it ending on the joker so much

jesus christ the male gaze on some of the camera work/direction. like. do we really need a fucking panty shot on a high school girl?? or when they’d have a female character climbing, crawling, etc. and the camera would be lined up with their ass the entire way. or when the high school girl confessed to being a dealer and, again, a medium-shot that made sure to include her ass. ridiculous and aggravating once i started noticing it more and more

sort of related, but there’s some stuff that translates from manga and some stuff that doesnt. the footware by a good chunk of the female cast for a big part of the series made 0 sense for players who had been doing games for a long time (platform flipflops? high heels? the fuck?)

why. didnt. niragi. die

why was everyone cool with letting usagi team up with the man who tried to rape her??? why did literally anyone hesitate to shoot this man? i get why they worked with him during the king of clubs game, but after that? my eyes rolled back into my head when arisu hesitated to kill him toward the end of the series. also why didnt he stay in the games when that had been his whole edgelord philosophy?

some of the face card games were pretty disappointing. aside from the montages (bummer that we missed them!!), the king of diamonds game fell really flat for me

while it was hilarious to see aguni respawn like 900 times when all the dude wanted to do was to just take a dirt nap and reunite with his 3-times divorced ex-husband, the stakes felt way lower in season 2 than they did in season 1 overall. the king of clubs games went hardest and that was the first-ish game of s2, so it kind of de-escalated as it went in suspense (like i knew ann wasn’t really dead in ep 7/8 because by that point every single main character was surviving literally anything)

(Set immediately after Hatter and Arisu's meeting in Hatter's room)

"So, anyways," Hatter says, settling back into the sofa between his two bikini-clad companions, "now that we've talked business, it's time to talk pleasure. Tell me, dear Arisu, whatever does a young man such as yourself do for fun?"

The woman on Hatter's left curls back into his lazy embrace, her slender fingers tracing absentminded swirls low on his stomach. The one on his right nuzzles into the crook of his neck, ruby-red lips pressing an open-mouthed kiss to his collarbone.

Although Hatter does not seem to mind the attention, Arisu does; it's weird, and even as he pours himself another splash of something from the impressive selection of liquor on the table, he can't help but watch the trio like some kind of sexed-up car crash.

"Oh, of course—where are my manners?"

Arisu accidentally makes eye contact with the man across from him, cringing both internally and externally as he reluctantly holds his gaze.

"Would you like one?" Hatter asks, wrist rotating to gesture towards the women draped about his person, "I'm sure either of my friends would be pleased to make your acquaintence."

"He's cute," the one on the right says.

"Like a little lost puppy," the lady on the left pouts.

"No," Arisu yelps. He takes a nervous sip from his glass. "I'm, uh. Actually, I'm—"

"Say no more," Hatter interrupts. He nods his head towards the two men in matching black kimonos standing silently towards the back of the room, "Gentlemen, why don't you come give our friend some company?"

Arisu whips his head around and sees the men approaching. Panic seeps into his bones—this is not good.

"I like video games!"

Arisu doesn't exactly intend to shout, but the rising stress of the situation makes his resolve snap. He downs the rest of his drink, not willing to risk looking at his host for fear of seeing the rage that lurks behind the man's tired eyes bubble up to the surface.

"Oh. I see."

Hatter puts a hand up and the men stop their advance. The women on either side of him steal a knowing glance.

Arisu almost regrets his decision. Hatter's expression is unreadable as he squirms in his seat and reaches into the pocket of his swim trunks—oh, God, is he getting a gun? Or maybe he's more of a switchblade guy, which might actually be worse?

In a flash, something small is being tossed in Arisu's direction, and it smacks him in the chest before dropping down into his lap.

For a moment, Arisu worries he might have been thrown a small bomb—there's something wrong with this guy, it could very well be a possibility—but when he isn't immediately blown to bits across the tasteful cream carpet, he realizes that he might not actually be in danger.

Upon inspection, what Arisu had been thrown is a key. A car key with a large keychain dangling from it. Arisu flips the metal medallion over and can't help but smile.

"Oh, I love Kirby," Arisu says, running a fond thumb over the pink character's image, "I main him in Smash Bros."

Hatter gasps. He clutches his heart.

"I main Kirby in Smash," he admits solemnly. It looks like he's about to cry.

"Finally, I am in the presence of a kindred spirit," Hatter inhales deeply. The bones in his body seem to relax even more and a wash of peace surrounds his aura. "What's your favorite thing about him?"

"I like that he can fly," Arisu says. Now that he knows he's not in danger of being murdered or having unwanted romantic advances thrust upon him, he's able to relax a little smoother into the sofa. "And how he can just sort of inhale anything. It's a really creative idea for a power."

"And he's just so fuckin' pink," Hatter adds enthusiastically, "and round!"

...Not exactly what Arisu thought he was going to comment upon, but perhaps it's worth saying.

"He's," Arisu says carefully, "He's got red shoes."

"He has red shoes! You are so right!"

Hatter leans forward—and sways to the left a little for a moment, until one of his companions gently nudges him back on course—and grabs a bottle of champagne by the neck. He spills a generous, foamy splash into Arisu's glass amd Arisu's brow furrows as he watches it mix with the dregs of whiskey left in the bottom. Hatter gives himself the same treatment, his much larger quantity of liquor combining curiously upsettingly with the carbonation.

"To Kirby," Hatter toasts solemnly, raising his glass, "The pinkest, roundest little bastard that ever did live. I wish I could eat the way you do."

"To Kirby," the women on either side of him, each with their own champagne flute held aloft as if this is a very normal cause to drink to.

Arisu raises his own glass. He really doesn't want to drink whatever's inside, but it'd be rude to refuse.

"Yeah," he says, "Uh, to Kirby. He's great."

And all Arisu can think about as he gulps down his somewhat-bearable beverage is how normal and well-adjusted of a human being he is, given the circumstances.

That, and the fact that he needs to pick a new main for Smash.

So it happens that I am somewhat of a writer too and I’ve been thinking about something lately... Would you guys be interested in reading a Chichiya centric fanfic focusing on his life in the Borderlands before The Beach and the events of the manga/show (aka ante-Arisu timeline)? Cause I have this story I write for myself as a personal hobby of mine (I picked writing back up as a means to cope easier with stress during my mid-term exams this year and this fanfic turned into a project I am currently very dedicated to) and since I managed to complete the Prologue and up to chapter 5, I guess I could post it online if anyone would like to read it.

As a whole it would be like a spin-off of ‘What if AiB’s main character was Chishiya instead, the cynical man with no purpose in life?’, as he wanders these waste lands trying to find a way out, while he’s being pestered by the presence of another human being, whom Chishiya made the ‘mistake’ of saving their life in an extremely rare unusual moment of pity. Personality wise, I tried to combine TV-show!Chishiya with manga!Chishiya (with an additional touch of my own personal style of writing him that adds a little bit of spice) so I think he could come off as entertaining to the reader (Chishiya is my favorite part to write, ngl, trying to get into this man’s train of thought is a real experience).

For the sidekick part, it’s OC-based tho, so it won’t have reader insert, but the character I built specifically with Chishiya in mind to be complementary to his personality, meant to accompany him on his journey, could be relatable enough for the reader, for them to actually come to enjoy her (she’s not an idiot and if I were to compare her to a canon character, imagine a combination of Ippei’s pure hearted optimism and compassion towards humanity and selflessness and Urumi’s cunning skills of manipulation, although a bit toned down to fit a kinder person). She fits most criteria in this post, so for the people looking for something like this, I guess I got your back.

Genre wise there’ll be romance (coz I am a sucker for love stories and fluff and Chishiya needs a little bit of company in his life), but it’s very slow-burn (just to give ya’ll a mental image of what I mean, kissing won’t happen until like after page 180 or so), I also tried to add some action by creating my own games for them to partake in and, of course, there’ll also be comedy and fanservice too (a bit of everything I guess, but don’t expect much gore or detailed horror scenes).

So yeah, if anyone’s actually interested to read this thing, just let me know. This might not be the best way to describe and present the story concept to the public, since I suck at self-promoting my stuff, but I tried to add and summarize the general ideas. I’m still not sure if I should post it or not (hence this random post), but if there’s enough interest from others, I’ll post the prologue and chapter 1 as a test run, since I am open to feedback and opinions on the story. For anyone wanting to know any other details, my asks are a friendly open space for any and all questions (except hate, please don’t send any forms of hate).

Alice in Borderland characters meeting you for the first time in a record store and both of you share the same taste (headcanons)

# — ARISU!

⇢ You noticed him choosing up a record from one of your favorite bands.

⇢ Probably isnt a famous band that everyone knows

⇢ When you called his attention, he became extremely nervous and couldn't form a coherent sentence.

⇢ He was overjoyed to see someone who appreciates the music he likes.

⇢ You told him how you discovered about the band.

⇢ He'd say it was Karube who introduced him, and then be mixed up since you have no idea who he is.

⇢ Likely would overshare that he plays his games while listening to the band music.

⇢ He would listen to you with a shy smile on his face

⇢ After a few minutes, you would split up to better explore the store.

⇢ Would cross paths on the way to the cash register and smile at each other.

⇢ He would ask the seller to give you a note that was handwritten by him.

⇢ “Hi, my name is Arisu, and I really enjoyed talking to you. Please give me a call at (xx) xxxx-xxxx (sorry I didn't know how to ask for your number)”

# — USAGI!

⇢ You caught her looking at one of your favorite albums, and she noticed.

⇢ She became concerned because she assumed you were familiar with her from her father's newspapers.

⇢ She relaxed and walked over to you as you smiled and pointed to the vinyl in her hand.

⇢ "This is her best album in my opinion! What’s yours?”

⇢ She confessed that she didn't have many friends with whom to discuss her musical tastes.

⇢ You two would walk throughout the store while conversing over the music.

⇢ When she realizes she may be talking too much, she blushes, but you can get her to talk again by asking what other artists she enjoys.

⇢ You’l probably lie and say you don't know who those artists are just to see her smile as she talks.

⇢ As you wait in line to pay, she lets you pass in front of her.

⇢ Together, you exit the store and follow one another down the sidewalk.

# — CHISHIYA!

⇢ He is so silent and unnoticeable that it is likely you were unaware of his presence.

⇢ He would have likely caught your attention while you were holding a record and searching for a particular album.

⇢ “You should probably buy the deluxe version of this record, I suggest.“

⇢ It'd get annoying because you'd know precisely why you're purchasing it, but you'd recognize that he doesn't.

⇢ You would answer in a passive aggressive tone that you are a collector, and he would be intrigued since you are one of the first people he has met who likes the unknown band.

⇢ You likely believe he didn't hear you and just doesn't have anything to do with you.

⇢ But he reacts by telling you his thoughts on the differences between the two editions of the albums and how satisfied he is that someone else gets to share having a good tastes.

⇢ Your conversation would be short and simple, and you would soon part ways.

⇢ You'd go to the register later and find out that he'd paid for your products (after all, he is a doctor and has a lot of money)

⇢ Plus, two weeks later, you'd cross paths on a busy street and look at each other.

# — ANN!

⇢ As soon as you enter the store, you'd be aware of this woman's presence.

⇢ You want to avoid showing up at the same session as her since she is so reserved and confident, but it's impossible because the vinyl you want is already there.

⇢ You would pick it up to look at another record by a musician you like only then to quickly realize that the item you were looking for was not there.

⇢ "You should take this one, just so you know, the cover on this one is damaged and scratched."

⇢ You would grab the item out of her hands and then explain that you already owned it and were seeking for another record by the performer to add to your collection.

⇢ She'd probably just say she collects as well, and you'd try to ask what her favorite songs are.

⇢ She would be closed off with precise and brief responses, never looking into your eyes and always focused on something else.

⇢ But when you happen to stumble over words, she would listen to you carefully and smile.

⇢ You would part ways without swapping names or any other information.

⇢ However, you'd meet again the very next week at the same store, and she'd hand you the vinyl you're seeking for.

# — KUINA!

⇢ Her familiarity with the location of the albums and others products comes from her regular visits to the business.

⇢ As a result, she helps you in searching for vinyl when you are having trouble finding a particular piece.

⇢ She became excited when she realized that it was the record of her favorite singer and she began talking to you.

⇢ She most likely talks a lot, and all you do is smile and nod in agreement.

⇢ However, if you spoke, she would listen attentively.

⇢ With your arms crossed, the two of you would circle the shop as she pointed out what was located where and which employees she personally prefer.

⇢ Because she asked, you likely would list the singer's top albums.

⇢ If you had a differing view, she would be horrified, but she would also laugh with you about it.

⇢ Surely, this girl will flirt to you.

⇢ She would most likely kindly ask your phone number in order to talk about the singer and your thoughts.

⇢ When you pick up the purchase and pay, she would request a special discount for you.

⇢ Message: Hello there, its Kuina from the store, are u free for a coffee tomorrow?

# — NIRAGI!

⇢ He likely became aware of your presence as you approached a vinyl display of the singer he enjoys that was displayed on the wall.

⇢ As soon as you picked up the album, he would laugh sarcastically.

⇢ "I don't think you're bright enough to understand a singer like him"

⇢ His rude statements to someone he has never met in person and his tone of voice would undoubtedly annoy you.

⇢ He would approach you only to pick up another Vinyl record and declare that it was greater, but you could never hear any of it.

⇢ You would become angry and start yelling at him about which Disc was the best and how you had the same interest in music.

⇢ Most likely, you two would be the center of attention for all of the other customers in the shop.

⇢ Within a few minutes, there would already be a lot of noise, and employees would be debating whether it was best to disrupt or ignore.

⇢ He would pause his speech to look at you coldly before smiling sarcastically and walking away.

⇢ And you would become even furious.

⇢ Weeks later, you would most likely meet up at another business.

⇢ "Look if it's not the one who has no taste for anything"

RPers Sought via Discord

I am seeking canon x canon ships for fandoms via discord. This will be a 1x1 situation. I am happy to double! For my ships, please reach out for information as many are crack/unusual. I do tend to stick to MxF romances but if we're doubling up and one pair is MxF, I'm open to adding a same-sex pair. When I double, I use a word counter to make sure posts are equal. I don't require this of my partners as long as they look similar in effort. Should favoritism begin to appear, I'll express concerns but if it happens often, I'm going to end the RP.

My posts tend to be several paragraphs (I guess the term might be novella or advanced literate) in third person, past tense. When on Discord, it's not unusual to take a few messages to complete my post but I do indicate with a (c or cont) if it's continued and end with an (end) to indicate that it's all complete. Due to post sizes being lengthy, I tend to give about 2-3 posts a week. Often more but I would say that's a pace I'm happy with getting from a partner. We all have lives. I'm not going to hound anyone to post unless it's been like, a month. People get busy or bored. It happens. That said, I love a lively OOC where we get to know one another and converse freely even if posts come at a slower pace. I'd rather hear about disinterest and work to fix it, than have resentment or complacency build behind the scenes.

NSFW stuff is bound to happen within moderation and with proper development. My RPs are very gradual, slow burn. I'm in this for the long haul and I expect my partner to be as well. Communication ensures longevity and interest.

Hm. Hard to choose but it would be either Arisu or Chishiya. They’re both interesting characters.

Aside from being intelligent and logical, Arisu is just some guy. Guys like him are pretty common in both Japan and here, being the black sheep of the family and constantly ‘leeching on their poor old parents’ because they failed to achieve what their parents wanted. They’re never expected to have a successful life or a decent morality, since they’re ‘lazy’. But he’s kind. Selfless. He wants to live, to survive with others. He values life. Also I like that he’s usually handsome but his face gets all scrunched up and ugly when he’s desperate, it’s cute.

Chishiya…he’s handsome, especially his eyes but Why Is He Like That. He seems like he knows all the tricks and answers to all the games. And it looks like he’s actually entertained by them, people killing and being killed and all.

Honorable mentions: Kuina, Ann, and Niragi(I mean he’s far from my favorite characters but still).

Kuina is strong, both physically and mentally. I think she knows who she is, and not many people even try to know that.

I like Ann because she’s hot. And she’s confident in what she’s good at.

Niragi is so disgusting and pathetic and I want to punch him in the ribs, but he’s very interesting because of his beliefs.

Taisho x Alice Heads & Tails Review

Time Played: 20.5 hours

Taisho x Alice is one of my favorite otome games, so the fan disc getting localized made me extremely happy. It didn't disappoint either. I thoroughly enjoyed getting after stories with these lovely characters, spending more time with Woolfe and Ryoushi in their stories, and laughing over the Arisu Academy AU.

(This review is spoiler free, but some cgs will be included.)

RYOUSHI ROUTE VA: Tomohisa Hashizume

I've always loved Ryoushi since his first introduction. I'm glad we got a platonic route to spend more time with him. His relationship with Yurika is funny as they bicker like most siblings, but they still obviously care about each other.

I wouldn't mind a spin-off with a different protagonist to romance Ryoushi. Who doesn't love a sassy doctor?

WOOLFE ROUTE VA: Natsuki Hanae

Forever crying over the fact Woolfe never really gets his romance arc. He is charming in an honest, persistent kind of way. Can't deny he's loyal.

I thought it was nice to see the story through his POV. He's more of an outsider to the situation we've seen go down, giving it a unique twist. Plus his developing friendship with Alistair was so wholesome. I was happy to see more of Alistair and their interactions.

I was pleasantly surprised it was a lot longer than I expected too.

CINDERELLA AFTER STORY & AU VA: Daisuke Hirakawa

There's something so endearing about Cinderella to me. He's such a mess, but he manages to be surprisingly respectful where it matters. And the way he values marriage and family makes my heart melt.

Please stop him and his leg fetish though. (Not really. I find it funny how open he is about it.) Stop his spending habits too. The amount he spends on simple things like shampoo is astounding.

RED AFTER STORY & AU VA: Tomoaki Maeno

Look at him showing off his ears now! Proud of him for the confidence he's building up. On the other hand, Yurika yelling at him for being a perv was so deserved. How does he manage to function with all of these nosebleeds?

He feels like a real superhero with his determination to uphold justice and protect others. And what superhero doesn't love flowers? They deserve to be protected too

KAGUYA AFTER STORY & AU VA: Toshiki Masuda

Are we avoiding the moon talk this time? I prefer Kaguya staying right here. It's great to see these two develop their relationship without any extremes. I eat up the drama, but a period of peace after the drama is so satisfying.

His love of rabbits is precious. And I like seeing he and Yurika still exchange letters! There's something about Kaguya that pulls at my heartstrings.

GRETEL AFTER STORY & AU VA: Takuya Eguchi

Gretel, you really need a balanced diet. All that sugar cannot be healthy. Although, I certainly want to try some of those desserts. I guess Yurika feels the same since she has a tendency to spoil him.

I somehow got stuck in a loop of constantly getting on Gretel's route in the Arisu Academy AU. Can't escape Gretel, can you? But his deadpan humor and dedication to Yurika still earn him extra points in my book. Please keep calling her "Yurika" instead of "Sister" though, thanks.

SNOW WHITE AFTER STORY & AU VA: Shouta Aoi

There's something about the way these two kind of have their own little world that feels wholesome. I like that they share their interests with each other. I also like how Ryoushi constantly shows up since he's a big part of both their lives. Snow's easily integrating into this family, huh?

His sarcastic and violent tendencies get me every time. Warning: Don't call him cute or books will be thrown.

I'm a sucker for bookworms since I relate.

WIZARD AFTER STORY & AU VA: Wataru Hatano

I never feel like Wizard is getting his happy ending. Sure, it's an improvement from before, but it still feels like something is missing to me. He deserves to be loved as strongly as everyone else.

Seeing him walk around with Kuro is adorable. What would a wizard be without a loyal companion?

Now if only he'd stop putting everyone else's happiness above his own...

ALICE AFTER STORY & AU 💙 VA: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka

Alice really makes this whole story. He can't ever be honest, can he? Everyone sees through him anyway. I felt the after story was a little strange in some aspects, but it did resolve some problems between the two.

Arisu Academy was a little more fulfilling for me. I felt their antics and confessions hit just right.

I'm guilty of being a tsundere fan, so Alice ultimately gets my stamp of favoritism. He lives up to the classic tsundere trope so well.

PROTAGONIST PRAISE

I am a strong defender of otome protagonists. Yurika is one of my absolute favorites for her outspoken nature. I adore that she acknowledges she's selfish and she'd do anything for the person she loves. She deserves happy endings with every LI.

She plays off their personalities perfectly. And the way she's bold enough to tease them? I'd like to see that more often from protagonists.

I do appreciate she's not always bold either though. She has her moments where she gets flustered or backs down. She voices her concerns too. There's a healthy balance between her teasing and care.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

I thoroughly enjoyed this fan disc. It's exactly what I wanted- more time with the characters, cute scenarios, and a decent amount of playtime. The situations and dialogue had me laughing so often throughout the game. The voice acting was phenomenal as always; I'm so pleased with the cast they have and the effort they put into their roles.

I do wish we had seen more of Alistair outside of Woolfe's route, but I still liked the content we got with him.

If you were a fan of the Taisho x Alice games, I would highly recommend picking the fan disc up. If you wish Ryoushi and Woolfe had more of a spotlight, you won't be disappointed.

Well.. I had a bad day. I started bleeding, I just found out when I bleed through my favorite jeans so hopefully the actually blood comes out - because I'm seriously washing my jeans a few times now. And I'm not even getting started on the cramps. Today is a really bad day for me.

Definitely. Rocky has his splash of color, whenever he decides to wear some color occasionally. Since red is the only color you actually see in his fashion. Wear some other colors, Rocky. I want to see. But! I could imagine Rocky having various pairs of red gloves with lots of different designs (in white and black). And obviously, Rocky's favorite gloves in general would be the red gloves with the white roses and skull design (that he wore in End Of Sky movie). Because why not. He likes his red gloves. I'm curious what other colors he'd wear? I'd laugh if Rocky is a man who wears black and white (maybe even patterned) underwear.

Like I said... If Rocky, or the girls, or whoever convinces everyone who is affiliated with the White Rascals to dress up in themed costumes in a whole group together. Koo might consider actually dressing up that year. Which isn't often with the Rascals. But when they're dressing up in their own individual costumes, Koo would rarely dress up. Because those years are the most minimal costumes for him. Someone would have to actually convince him to dress up. Which is very rare for him.

Speaking of Halloween. Red dressed like Chucky for Halloween, that's her costume for this year. Which doesn't surprise me at all in any way.

That's where you are wrong. Maybe. Because Kizzy seems like the girl who would go to a salon to get her nails done and even paint her nails when she's home. Rocky might go to a salon, mostly because he even seems like the type to pay women who work hard (like whenever he is going to a hair and nail salon). And because they'd know what women like. I can't remember if I ever saw paint on Kaito's nails, but I can also see Kizzy cleaning up his nails for him and maybe even painting too - if he's actually fine with it. Since the original four, four as in the GB, is from an actual Japanese Visual Kei band. Many Asian musicians have kept up with their hygiene and even painted their nails too. This really is based on what I know of Japanese and Korean musicians though. I could imagine those four painting their nails if they wanted too. And if there are Rascals who don't paint their nails, they would keep up their own hygiene though because appearances for the women. But I have known that it is canonical that Kizzy and Koo paint their nails though.

When Rocky met Kizzy, he really figured out her gender based on the nail polish she wore. Since she wore sparkly nail polish at the time.

And any time you see Koo in close up scenes, you would see his nails, his nails are always painted white (at least on the one hand). So I may see him being the type who might keep up on his hygiene, like he just keeps up on his own nails and even paints his own nails. Because I do not see him being the type who would go to a salon for his nails. I can see him going to a hairstylist or barber for his hair at a salon, but I can not see him getting his nails done at a salon. And so Kizzy complains.

Kaito knows how to do his own makeup, so he could do his makeup if he wants to. But he also enjoys when Kizzy does his makeup too. So I can see that as Kizzy's way of pampering Kaito since she's usually the more spoiled on in the relationship. That's just my opinion about this.

Now I have an idea.. Every time characters are separated in this show a lot, you don't always see the other games for the most part. There's sometimes you do. But not always. Like you said.. And I had that very thought before with those game scenes. When know that during this Light Bulb game; Arisu, Ann, Kuina and Tattsu were in that game. But really nothing about Chishiya's game. And, I think, didn't Usagi have a clubs game? The bingo in the caves, they had to use matches to even see the words throughout the caves. So that implies that Chishiya's in a completely different game than Usagi was. They weren't actually on the same team. So depending on how many characters I create. Then I could possibly split them up so they could actually work with a lot of the other characters. You could also figure out a game for that too.

I don't blame Niragi. Like.. I know everyone has their preferences in all the things they like and dislike. And for the most part, I can be mostly respectful of people's opinions but there are times when I can be very dogmatic too. I won't lie. I can be a dogmatic person. Which you have seen from time to time on occasion. Anyway. Music is definitely just a main thing for me. If I am listening to music, I can only listen to music I actually enjoy listening too. I can't tolerate most music. Especially all the mainstream musicians and songs that people listen to 24/7. So I'll have to admit that I would have the same reaction as Niragi whenever they're playing that music at Beach. Especially since it seems like just play the same songs on repeat 24/7 every time those party people do party. That's another reason why I can't live their. They shitty music is one reason. And I feel like I wouldn't be able to sleep for two reasons - one reason would be because that shitty music 24/7 so I doubt that it is possible to sleep, and other is you don't know who would break into your room while your sleeping since you don't have locks on doors for reasons like Hatter's paranoia. Hatter's really a dictator. What the fuck is wrong with him. I wouldn't be able to live there. I'd kill people there.

I was always curious about that! Like I was curious.. If Chishiya was in the Beach counsel already. Do you think people were allowed to wear, y'know, regular clothes that weren't swimsuits. Or if Chishiya and also maybe Kuina recently arrived at the Beach, then Chishiya had to have figured everything out quickly if he already became a counselor really quickly in that short amount of time since the tag game. Which was a couple weeks? I'm being generous by saying a couple weeks though. I don't know the exact time frame for that. So when Chishiya waved, I'd been so confused by trying to figure out if Aguni even hated Chishiya at first sight or if he already knew in from the hotel. I am overthinking.

I don't care about Yaba. But it was so entertaining to see Banda made a friend in his own way anyway. Both of them are murders, Banda in a more literal sense though. But I am curious on what they're suits even end up being if they became Kings of their own areas. Because they'd been in a Hearts game.. Maybe hearts? At least for Banda. Not sure if Yaba would be hearts or diamonds though. That's really debatable for his character. But I think Mira's brother was a hearts person though.

Yeah. Just watch the scenes online if you can. Don't get me wrong on this.. The movie was okay. The acting was fine, the special effects are fine. But the movie wasn't what I expected at all. The movie focused a lot on one character, which actually makes sense since he is the main character. But the plot was not what I expected. That's a fair warning.

This the adult version of Hayato's character only has a few scenes, I'd just watch his scenes then. If try finding scenes with him if you can.

Oh! I think you mentioned that.. I forgot. But you mentioned that their characters fought together throughout the movie? Maybe they'd end up as friends (to an extent) in the story, and they do have some fights together. Like they work together in some fight scenes in your stories then. Or something like that. Not that actually you'd have to do that.

You sound like me.. I have a lot of characters, new and old characters, I'm always thinking up ways to create and recreate characters - then I think how could I revamp this character too. And then every time I do see a celerity (or character) I like, I'd want to create a character based on that celebrity with them as the face claim. And then every time I'm watching shows or movies I deeply enjoy, then I just want to write the new stories (or notes and drafts) on the fandom. I'm just that person.

Goki with blond hair makes him look more like a delinquent. Y'know.. I see him in the same way as Cobra, Rocky, and Odajima. Actually, that appearance with the blond hair and glasses kind of made me think of Odajima in a way? I don't know why. Todoroki's dying his hair blond in my story. Maybe. I need to see his blond character at least one time.

Dori Sakurada's height is listed as 5'11. And some sites alter his height a lot between 177 cm to 180 cm, depending on the sites you'd read.

from the looks of it in like ep4 and ep5, there’s a lot of games going on every night and there’s also duplicate cards. so i wonder if they’re re-running the same games or if they’ve got a bunch of different games under the same challenge level; like is every 5♠️ the tag game or is there different 5♠️ games? it has to be different games right? or wouldn’t it be too easy if you already know the solution and just replay the game? you could really spam-collect visas that way tho if they were the same games.

the reason i dont think chishiya was with the beach in the tag episode was mainly his clothes. he’s wearing a completely different outfit in that episode compared to the beach episodes - with the exception of his hoodie. i was looking for it, but i don’t think he had the beach tag bracelet in tag either, and he’s dressed in more beach fashion for the later episodes. from when arisu and usagi joined the beach, it looks like they were immediately forced into swimwear after joining and really, the main three militant guys are the only ones not wearing swimwear.

it seems like there was a few weeks between the tag game and arisu and usagi showing up at the beach. i didn’t count how many days were on arisu’s lil visa count paper. nvm went back and looked. it was 3♣️, 5♠️, 7♥️, 4♣️, and he was on his last visa when he joined the beach. so 16 days between when he won tag and when he joined the beach. so chishiya had a lil over two weeks to meet kuina, join the beach, and make his way into an executive position.

i think aguni just already didn’t like him when he saw him at the tag game. i can’t imagine he was happy for chishiya to join the beach.

i could see bands taking over the jack of hearts role, and maybe yaba as the jack of diamonds. idk if i could see them as the kings. maybe.

todoroki and shizuka as the serious friends to murayama and yui’s craziness. shizuka has big sister energy tho, so she’d try to baby him like she does all the younger ojou and oya students (when the schools are actually getting along).

i think there are pictures of goki with blonde hair and odajima’s actor with dark hair. it’s weird to see the hair colours swapped.
