HWS Asia Week will be hosted from July 8th-17th of 2024!!

Three prompts per day:

1) nations from Asia

2) a general theme

3) a quote

You can choose which prompt or prompts you want to create content for; you can stick with one country (canon or OC) throughout the whole week or switch between multiple; it's all up to you!

Long distance lovers </3

I can't help myself with these two, I often find myself thinking about them. I think there are just so much that can be explored with their relationship. I imagine them being quite similar, being quite avid users of media they probably share the same humour (kinda like me and my bf, although we are from complete opposite parts of Europe lol)

Also, I imagine they don't face too much culture differences between eachother, seeing as Hong lived sometime with England, also by being cronically online... However!! Just imagine the family gatherings between China, Taiwan, Macau (maybe some other asian countries like Korea and Japan?) and the Nordics. Pure chaos and fun haha

Happy Lunar New Year 2024!

Hi, dudes! It's me again.

While I was drawing this, my felt to got ideas block and exhausted very much to I will paint it with watercolor. Thus, I painted it with ink pens instead.

For Tibet fan art, I got reference from my oracle card in Tibetan culture theme as this:

And I will tell fun fact a few things about beliefs in Lunar New Year.

Don't cleaning in house, apartment, or accomodations in evening until to night on normal days or during celebration in new year and any festival that is not only belief in China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea. Thailand and India are believing this too. Because in the past, it was not existed to use electric in night. It makes you throw something is value this such as jewelry, gold or silver accessories, or coins. And also, many ppl always clean their house or accomodations in festival eve day or after festival day. Because nobody else do it while you are enjoying to celebrating in during day, right? They are feeling that too. LOL.

For Japanese Lunar New Year (Japanese is called "Shougatsu" 「正月: しょうがつ。: Shōgatsu」) , in the past. They were celebrating in lunar calendar in every year, but the after in 1873 AC. They are celebrating on 1st January in every year. Thus, Celebrating Japanese lunar new year in Japan which is celebrating new year of many countries too.

For Thai ppl who are not Thai-Chinese or Chinese in Thailand, they are can enjoy with this festival too. Because some Thai culture and Chinese culture are seeming similar such as praying for ancestors, respectful with family or someone who are seniors, and beliefs about position their house or accommodation. And also, Thai ppl are always be enjoy with festival which popular from other countries such as Christmas, Halloween, Lunar new year, Celebrating moon cake, or Navratri. Unless, some festival which restricted for Islamic, Christian, or some ppl who are minority in Thailand that mainly ppl or normal ppl cannot to be enjoying for celebrating with their festival too.

And I don't have any ideas unless I will say to you word that is I am always heard many ppl who are Thai-Chinese and Chinese in Thailand are said that

man you really articulated my own problems with how fandom treats Kiku...sorry for venting a little but: thank you for acknowledging this as a fellow AsaKiku fan because sometimes I feel so alone as an Asian AsaKiku-er who admittedly likes a more calculating take on the alliance (especially since that alliance was built on my country's colonization by britain 😔). i don't wanna vague so much but it's real uncomfortable seeing historical hetalia fic where the other characters are roughened and calculating empires, yet it's all nooooo Kiku is actually a blushing, shy, gentle bumbling boi who could never be imperialist, it's all his government, all he just wants to be sweet and happy with England! he never thinks about other Asians, but only about England!...excuse me.

it's such a disservice to separate Kiku from his other Asian relationships too, yet i see people doing that. and this soft boi Kiku so often is employed to downplay British imperialism too by erasing any tensions he'd have with Arthur (or any version of England) over British imperialism in Asia. I don't want yellow peril villains but going too far to the other end is just another brand of awful infantilizing orientalism. if people don't want to grapple with meaner versions of the characters at all in their ships, i genuinely say...go and write a human AU. the Anglo-Japanese Alliance era is soaked in imperialism from top to bottom and people who aren't asian really gotta respect asian history and understand kiku and his relationships with other asians first if they want to play in that.

Kiku is such a character I feel like you really need to know what’s up before you go to write him, because there’s so much cultural and historical weight behind him. Glad someone else in the Asakiku niche is thinking this too, because as much as I love that ship, I’ve definitely seen some…questionable content surrounding those too; as someone who also prefers a more calculated take on the alliance.

And you are so correct that it’s such a disservice to separate Kiku from his relationships with the other Asian nations. Especially also when people don’t give them the complexity they deserve. I’ll never understand the people who treat hetalia relationships as blood family relations…but especially with the Asian nations that’s um. Oh that’s not— in the sense that—
