okay how do i get into wrestling? it looks fun i wanna watch

Well if you have cable you can watch AEW on tbs and tnt and WWE on fox or usa. You can also watch WWE on peacock (which is how i watch). There’s also a ton of stuff on youtube which is a good place to go (for a while AEW did a free youtube show called Dark, which is a great place to see some amazing wrestling for free).

Honestly i would start with AEW (that’s what I started with) cuz it’s a lil more forward thinking and not as much baggage as WWE. Basically the way i got into it is someone explained to me that wrestling is basically theatre with more physicality to it, and once you start looking at it like that it’s a lot easier to appreciate. There’s a surprising amount of emotion and drama to it all, in addition to the sheer awesomeness of seeing one person throw another through a table. Plus the passion the wrestlers have for what they do is palpable, and downright beautiful at times. Also: once you’ve watched a lil bit pick a wrestler or two as ur fave(s), even if it’s just because their outfit is cool or whatever. Having someone to root for makes it so much easier to get invested in!

It took me a really long time to fully get into but now after 4 or so years of dipping my toe in I’m totally hooked. It’s defs not for everyone but I genuinely think it’s neat as fuck, and i didn’t think i’d ever like this kinda thing.

James is pushing his luck at this point, and he knows it. Can’t help it, really. The heat in Regulus’ cheeks never fully gets the chance to fade, no matter how long a break he gives him, and it’s worth it. Fuck, it’s so worth it. He’ll deal with whatever turnaround he’s got coming to him later, because this? Oh, James is riding this high for as long as he fucking can.

The tiny little remote sits in the curl of his palm, tucked beneath the brunch table. It weighs less than his phone, about as big as his thumb, at best, and yet the power he wields with it is otherworldly.

A small red switch that clicks on and off, a plus button and a minus button beneath it to control the intensity of vibrations —it’s all he really needs. He’s been messing with it in starts and stops for the last hour, knowing full well that while he absently fidgets with the buttons and switch, Regulus is squirming one seat down across the table, absolutely ruining that vibrating g-string James got him for Christmas.

It’s been a little while since James last clicked it on, giving Regulus the opportunity to eat his food without the threat of accidentally inhaling a bit of french toast and truly calling more attention to himself —James is courteous like that. Now that they’ve all settled into chatting over coffee and mimosas, winding down after finishing up their meals, though, it feels like as good a time as any.

The setting was left on the lowest it could be last he turned the switch off, but James still doesn’t miss the way that Regulus flinches out of the corner of his eye when he clicks it back on again now, not expecting it after the extended reprieve. James glances away from where Sirius and Remus are chattering back and forth about wedding details to where Regulus sits between Barty and Dorcas.

He’s not even a little surprised to find a glare already fixed on him.

Feigning innocence, James pulls his lip between his teeth, bats his eyelashes. Presses the plus button three times in rapid succession. It’s too much too quickly when James knows that Regulus is already oversensitive, undoubtedly uncomfortably slick and swollen where he rubs his thighs together and shifts in his chair for some modicum of relief from the teasing his clit’s been subjected to since they sat down.

Another click of the plus button and Regulus’ hand comes down on the edge of the table harshly, rattling glasses and silverware, grip white-knuckled. Dorcas startles out of her conversation with Lily and Pandora across the table to look at him in concern but Regulus only waves her off with his free hand. Sirius’ head whips in his brother’s direction, dark brows pinching together when he catches the flush burning in Regulus’ cheeks, spilling over the edges of sharp jawline and down the sides of his neck.

“Alright, Reggie?” He calls.

“I’m fine,” Regulus hisses through his teeth. He catches his own strained tone and lets out a vaguely hysterical sounding laugh, making a rushed grab for the last of his mimosa in front of him. He downs the couple gulps in a hurry then breathes in deeply through his nose. “Another round?”

Sirius, bless him, thinks nothing of it, merely agrees and waves down their waitress —Regulus doesn’t drink in excess often, this could just be written off as a little too much too early in the day, weird as it may seem. No reason to suspect anything nefarious is going on anyway. Not like Regulus and James are running about advertising the things they get up to. Even though all of their friends know they’re together and have a bad habit of making that fact everyone else’s problem in some way or another.

Barty snorts beside Regulus, straight across the table from James, and catches his eye; doesn’t seem to miss a thing, Barty Crouch Jr., no matter how often he leads others to believe he does. He looks back at James with one brow arched upward, dark eyes dangerously knowing, lips quirked at the edges where he sips at a glass that’s straight champagne more than a mixed drink.

“Buzzing this morning, aren’t we, Reg?” Barty mutters, just loud enough for the two people it’s intended for.

James clicks the remote’s switch back to off instantly. Despite the soft whimper that escapes past Regulus’ clenched teeth, there’s still a positively murderous glower shot James’ way.

Oh, he is so fucked later. James can’t wait.

Hey, this isn’t related to the story but I was curious how you got started with twine? Your story inspired me and I want to learn the program so I can make my own. I wanted to see if you had any advice or reference points. Perfectly fine if not, much love regardless!

I've messed with Twine on and off for a while now, so I'm not sure when I actually got into it? It was probably when I originally got into IFs back in like 2015 lol

I use Twine Sugarcube specifically, and I pretty much just watched/read through these:

Twine or Treat: a youtube playlist where a guy shows you how to make a game. Focuses more on making an exploration/puzzle game in Twine, but still has some useful/relevant info

Introduction to Twine: another video playlist, although again, I really only watched what I needed

The Twine Grimoire: there's 3, with each one going through more complicated concepts each volume, includes Harlowe as well as Sugarcube

Sugarcube (and Harlowe) also have their own documentation, but it's so Long and Daunting that I honestly just ignored it when I first started LOL. It's obviously useful to have and reference, but I always need to watch people doing the thing first. I really struggle with just reading through things personally. I'm comfortable enough with Twine now that it isn't overwhelming though lol

Also I'd argue you really only need to learn how to set variables to get started with IFs. Once you know how passages work and how variables work, you're almost set to make an IF.

I'd also recommend learning the very basics HTML and CSS just in case. There's plenty of Twine templates available for free on itch.io, but if you want to adjust them in any way, it's helpful to know CSS/HTML. Also just have fun and mess around! From visual novels to this IF, my learning process has honestly just been 'fuck around and find out' and it's been useful so far! I also think it helps with the inherent anxiety of trying something new too

But yeah, hopefully some of this is helpful/useful to you!

its like 2 am and i have school at 8:30 so ill make this quick but i have to get this out of my system

OK so imagine like, a reader whose academic rivals with dottore but, not really

like at first glance he thinks the reader is just, there because they have to be, be it overbearing parents or whatever, because they're constantly staring off into space, turning in half finished assignments (the only amount finished was the ones they gave time to do in class) fiddling with whatever, and so on

but then dottore is?? perplexed because the reader constantly gets higher grades with tests than anything else, at first he thinks "oh lmao they're cheating" but!? they're not!? he eventually finds out that the reader just finds assignments to be "unnecessary padding" and how they wish they could just do a bunch of tests and get over it.. idk maybe they enjoy the labs too, putting sodium in water to cause a scare because the reader is a hashtag icon

cue, dottore who's kinda, not upset but peeved because, "you have so much potential!! but never use it!! how could you smh!! jail for a thousand years!!" or something, so in defiance, and trying to dethrone you in the test scores department, he eventually gets 100%s on all the tests but is more upset because!! the reader doesn't mind??? his brain is short-circuiting and angry flustered dottore is my favorite flavor of dottore - 🎈

UNBOTHERED READER I LOVE IT... He literally didn't care about you at all and thought you were just another one of those mediocre scholars but then?? You have the audacity to score higher than him? Logically, he shouldn't even care because his grades in the Akademiya aren't what matters to him, it's his own research but there's something about you that just irks him? Like, you aren't like the other scholars who start jumping for joy when they do well. You're just like "oh cool" like this is just a normal occurrence. And it sure as hell is not because the Akademiya makes scholars cry on a daily basis!

And then Dottore develops a sort of fascination with you. He wants to know how smart you are. If there's anything beyond the surface that's interesting. And boy if he's just a lil bit surprised!! To think there's someone like this at this institution full of stupidity!! He wonders, do you have an ulterior motive like him? Surely you do? Because you simply cannot be wasting your potential along with this worthless lot.

Oh and when he finally beats you? All you do is come up to him and give him a little pat on the shoulder, congratulate him, and walk away. (Maybe you slipped him a little paper with a meeting time though ;) He's infuriated and flustered at the same time.

well english is obviously what we speak here in the us and ik my native tongue so those two are kinda given....and spanish and french are taught in my school and i wanted to flex by taking both....hm. learning tho. i'd say get duolingo bc they actually do a rly good job of helping u learn (ignore all the death threat memes) and like for tips i'd say u have to practice evryday and stay comitted (i say this DAMN well knowing i slept through french bc i could not understand my prof's accent)

this was the universe making today up to me because work was bad today and i cried in front of everyone 😭 I've just been pushing myself too hard/out of my comfort zone a lot training in framing these two weeks. Unfortunately my coworker trying to rp a difficult framing customer so i could design an order was what broke the dam (i still feel terrible because he felt so bad)💀

they're requiring managers to learn basics now, but framing always terrified me and i avoided it before they required it. BUT i am learning more than the basics, as scary as it is, out of SPITE and because I want to negotiate more pay. The company is fucked silly and doesn't want to pay me more for being bilingual either. My old coworkers tell me to not utilize that skill if they won't compensate me but I can't find it in me to do that. Like customers shouldn't have to suffer because of a poor company decision, it's not fair. Especially when i see the relief on their faces knowing I can speak spanish, and having seen my own parents struggles when I was younger.

That took a complete 180 I'm so sorry 😭 i hope i don't work sunday because i really wanna ramble about mc's mortality and stuff, THE IDEAS ARE RATTLING IN MY BRAIN

Ah, now see, all companies are fucked. Due to being in the workforce for many years, I know this to be true. My advice? If they won't pay you for being bilingual, find a new job that will. I obviously don't know your entire situation, but my experience is that most companies will never pay you more for things you're already doing. If you find another job, you can give them your two weeks notice and let them give you a counteroffer where they pay you what you're worth. You might not even need to leave, but if they don't give you what you want, you still have another job.

Of course you understand your own situation best. In the end, you have to make the right decision for yourself. I hope things work out! I believe in you!
