Does anyone else feel like SNW was super low-key throwing shade at the Kelvin timeline movies Kirk Drift in that Uhura assumed Kirk was hitting on her when he wasn’t. He just wanted to see if he could be a friend cuz she was visibly stressed out while also being entertained by Spock playing chess?
"for quite a while the reboot movies were super popular and if you dared criticize the choices they made fandom would say you just didn’t “get star trek” or you were possibly a racist salty about spock/uhura. i’m so happy those days are past us and people can now talk about their issues with those movies, because they were mid at best and entirely ooc atrocities that were more regressive than the 60s show at worst. thank you cumberbatch khan for being so undeniably awful there was no way to explain it away!"
i am so sorry nia but in a true comedy of errors charles/arthur is now against fitzsimmons, a ship that has not only been my longtime nemesis, but also simply isn't doomed. i would LOVE for them to be doomed. nobody wants them to have been doomed more than me, except current charthur superfan iain de caestecker. vote charthur for him and send that other ship back to hell. stay in line!!!
Honestly I think the weird romance thing Fitzsimmons had going on in the Framework where they turned Fitz into a Tormented Man with Daddy Issues felt like such a Skyeward fanservice. The writers were like no guys we’ll give you evil Hydra Fitz but Jemma will save him uwu isn’t this what you guys wanted with Ward and Daisy
this is dialogue from the unfilmed holonecklace scene written for st2009 (x), where we see kirk's birthday gift to spock. i used a deepfake program to replicate kirk's voice.
This was a gift to me. Representing…
a dream. One we were unable to fulfill.
The way you can now.
thank you @brookbee and @gay-spock for your feedback!
if they decided to make a sequel to aos, but put it in its own timeline for good, i dont think that would be the worst thing. it has always had its own identity, and while i love a lot about phase 4, there has been turbulence, and the aosverse would basically be the mcu up to infinity war and diverge after that. personally, i wouldnt complain about having a timeline where thanos just died and we continue to have happy endings for all the characters (instead of fridging a bunch of them for cheap shock).
tony retiring with his wife and kid. natasha and clint returning to shield. sharon getting her name cleared and also coming back and oh shit, shes a skrull, which leads into shield dealing with the skrull stuff in an actual good, dramatic, spy storyline (which would have worked in the main mcu too, but oh well thats marvel for you).
anyway, daisy becoming director of sword. fitzsimmons working at stark industries. ah im loving this idea more and more who needs kang
I'm in a 'being bitter in defense of Daisy' mood right now, so I don't know if it's my pro-Daisy, anti-F!tz mind being biased and clouding my judgment, but a thought came to me that I haven't really seen discussed:
Why didn't Daisy get any recognition in the rescue of Jemma from Maveth?
LITERALLY throughout the entire series after 3x02, all we hear about is how F!tz bravely dove through the portal to save Jemma, which, yes, was pretty brave, I'll give him that. But it was also a pretty stupid decision on his part.
Daisy was the one to hold the portal open with her powers, way longer than she should have been able to, mind you. F!tz wouldn't have been able to do it without her. Daisy put her own health and life on the line in order to bring Jemma back too. F!tz dove into the portal, knowing the risk of Daisy. She had passed out due to the vibrations previously and more than likely did again after the scene cut.
F!tz got all the recognition for Jemma's rescue, and all Daisy got was a "good job" from Mack (which this isn't to downplay that either cause it's one of my favorite Daisy and Mack moments).
F!tz made a, though successful, stupid decision that risked the life of someone he was supposed to see as a friend. The least he could have done was acknowledge that, at least to her, instead of basking in 'his own' victory. I'm not saying Daisy deserved more recognition than him, but some for her major contribution would have been nice.
This is also not to say that Jemma shouldn't have been saved because she more than deserved to get off that planet. This isn't anything against her because of the whole situation, she is the primary victim of what had happened. I'm just saying that if you dive into a portal that is being held open by somebody who is literally risking their own health and life to do so, the least you could do is thank them for it.
Again, my bias towards Daisy and feeling bitter in defense of her might be clouding my judgment, but it was just something that suddenly came to mind, and I had strong feelings about it.
The best thing about Jessica Jones Season 1 is how Jessica is just allowed to grieve after Kilgrave. She is angry and she expresses it. She is allowed to rage about it without having the fandom label her as an annoying bitch. I wish Daisy was afforded the same luxury because she absolutely deserved it. Instead, the writers had Fitz yell at her for abandoning the team. They had her apologizing to everyone in season 4 for hurting them by leaving because she couldn't deal with her trauma and loss in a palatable way. I hate everything.
Y'know what really irks me about Season 5? It's not them ruining Daisy and Fitz's friendship or Daisy and Simmons', it's them ruining Daisy and Elena's.
You're telling me that Yoyo, who was the only person to stand by Daisy when she left SHIELD, who's the only remaining member of Daisy's team, as well as the only other Inhuman; would not at least sympathise with Daisy after what Fitz put her through?
If it was S4 Yoyo, i can imagine she'd have knocked out Fitz herself.
Daisy is always losing them but usually just buys drug store chap stick. She likes to see what cool flavors she can get on missions. Jemma gifted her a really nice honey suckle bees wax one, and she keeps it in her room because she doesn't want to lose that one.
May has a single stick of chapstick, peppermint, and is the only one able to use one till the last bit without losing it. No one knows how she does it. It's gone through hell.
Jemma has the really expensive but eco-friendly beeswax kind, and she collects them religiously. She won't tell you how many she has but she know the exact number and has a little organizer and system.
Fitz has about 3 original burts bees scattered around his lab and room. He isn't allowed to touch Jemma' s collection anymore after he got too curious and a bit too drunk and took a bite out of one. Refuses to use Jemma's brand bc it's 'pretentious.'
Bobbi has one of those round eos ones because if it's too small she will lose it. She has one in each bag, and never goes anywhere without it. She despises mint lipbalms bc if she " wanted mint, there is toothpaste in the bathroom." There is a side eye from May when this is brought up. She also likes the Burt's Bees lip tints but she only uses them on special occasions. Somehow she lost her favorite lip balm....
Coulson uses the little tins of lip balm. He likes them because someone told him that's how captain America would have used lipbalm. May thinks it's adorable.
Elena likes to use lipstick but Jemma has convinced her to use the one Jemma picked out for her. She really likes the cinnamon scent. It makes her really happy because someone took the time to figure out what she likes.
Mack used to use either none or original drug store but the air in the shop is so damn dry. He had heard of Jemma's collection and asked for "whatever" because he didn't want to go out of base and buy one. She actually asked Elena about his cologne and what scents he likes. He got a really nice floral one, and he isn't ashamed he likes flowers. The tube looks very small in his hands though. Hunter made a jab at the flowers on the label and mack replied "At least I'm not crusty" Hunter decided to steal one of Bobbi's lip balms bc of this. He is "not crusty" anymore, according to him.
Hunter stole one of Bobbi's eos, and refuses to give it back or even admit it. He really likes the floral scent but he can't figure out which scent it is on his own. He can't ask because he once took the mickey out of Jemma's collection for being a " floral nightmare" in front of everyone. (She called him disheveled and said his skin was wrinkled and shrunken like a prune. She is very into skin care) He is now in too deep, as he discovered how mad Bobbi was that some "idiot must have stole (her) lipbalm, but who even steals a half used lip balm?"
Piper has a bad habit of chewing her lip, and just forgets to use lip balm. May told her to stop it because it was a really obvious tell. Jemma, being herself, gifts her a rapid repair extreme moisturizing one. Piper is extremely grateful. It also tastes bad which helped her break the habit.
Talbot thinks lip balm is for girls and sissies. He stated this when Coulson took out his tin of lip balm. Jemma did not like this. Jemma started on a rant about skin care and health. She took her lip ba to read the ingredients as Talbot called it a chemical scam from big pharma. The verbal sparring ended with Hunter walking in and saying "At least I'm not crusty" Talbot nearly threw the tube at him for that.
AU in which Jiaying watches over Daisy from the afterlife, and when she sees what happens in The Devil Complex she returns to the world of the living through sheer power of How-Dare-You-Do-This-To-My-Daughter-You-Whimpy-Little-Bitch.
Daisy is confused, everyone else is panicking, and Jiaying has to work through her genocidal urges if she wants to stick around (which she does. because despite everything that happened, she does love Daisy)
