She watched her father kill her mother to save her
She met her father after his entire memory was wiped
She watched Coulson leave the Zephyr knowing he was on his deathbed
And the worst of all imo was when she held May in her arms as she died

If I had a nickel for every time a female superhero in a Marvel TV show thought her mom was dead, but discovered that her mom was actually alive and also had superpowers, but used those superpowers to kill people, and the superhero had to fight her mother and play a role in her mother's death -- I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Currently crying over how in 7x10, when Jiaying tells Daisy, "I had a feeling... I knew you. There's something... so familiar" sort of-ish parallels Daisy in 2x17 having a feeling that Jiaying might be her mother and how she was "too afraid to hope" before she told her.

I loved S2 but I’ll go to my grave maintaining that making Jiaying the final villain was less of a natural narrative conclusion and more of a copout. BC apart from good ole Fitz, SHIELD was decidedly unheroic in the second half of the season with how they treated Daisy and other “gifted” and the writers wrote themselves into a corner and had to get themselves somehow - and did so in a way the entirely ignored the main point of S2
i kind of agree i think, but i love that entire story arc so much that its not really a huge problem for me, if that makes sense. the angst and the character development, and that they didnt cop out of making it so dark is something i really appreciated. too many shows just dont go to those places, and its important that big struggles and resilience through those struggles is visible in media, because it makes a big difference.
thats just my thoughts, but like i said i agree with you. the way a lot of stuff was resolved after season 2 was kinda meh, like how the entire other faction of shield was just absorbed into coulsons shield and it was never brought up again. like, weaver at least was still alive, wouldve been interesting to see how that played out.

AU in which Jiaying watches over Daisy from the afterlife, and when she sees what happens in The Devil Complex she returns to the world of the living through sheer power of How-Dare-You-Do-This-To-My-Daughter-You-Whimpy-Little-Bitch.

I’ll say it:
despite all its flaws, “once upon a time” did a really good job showing us Emma’s childhood and how it impacted her decisions even as an adult, and her relationships with others.
The show also did a good job having her reunite with her parents and how all characters involved dealt with their complex and confusing emotions.
it’s the kind of writing I wish Daisy had been given on agents of shield.
I wish we’d gotten flashback of her childhood. I wish she’d gotten to spend more time with Jiaying and Cal. I wish the show itself had included them in future seasons.
Either by not killing Jiaying, and having her be there in afterlife (Daisy having a safe space she could go to, a wise person she can trust or an ally she can rely on, especially with the events of upcoming seasons).
Or by having Daisy go to Cal, despite his erased memories, every now and then.
So much more could’ve been done with Daisy’s story relating to her life as an orphan and her eventually finding her parents, and while I understand the whole point of it was for Daisy to become Daisy Johnson, Quake, and Agent of Shield, I still feel as though there was a lot of wasted potential.

Physically appears to be in her early 30s although her actual age is in the 400s (Note: when we see Jiaying in 1945, she appears to be in her 30s although we do not know when she became an Inhuman, I choose to believe that she has been an Inhuman for a very long time). Mother of both Daisy 'Skye' Johnson and Skarlet. Previously married to Dr. Calvin Johnson, currently in relationship with Shao Kahn. Formerly the leader of Lai Shi (Afterlife), currently a liaison between the Inhumans and Edenians. Portrayed by: Dichen Lachman
Tanya Soto: Genetic Outworlder. Mother of Liu Kang. Physically appears to be late 20s to early 30s, though her actual age is in the 120s. One-time lover of Shao Kahn. Former member of the Shirai Ryu and currently an ally of Outworld. Previously rival to the Okaia family (particularly Jade) however the two put aside their differences after Liu fell in love with Kitana Okaia-Morse. Portrayed by: Rochelle Okoye
Skarlet Johnson: Middle child of Shao Kahn, but oldest that he is close with. Controls blood magic. Physically in her late 20s but her actual age is in the 90s She is older than Liu Kang by 40 years. Married to James Rogers and has a daughter, Mia, with him. Although not related to Calvin Johnson, she uses his last name as neither Jiaying nor Shao truly has a last name. Portrayed by: CL
Liu Kang: Youngest child of Shao Kahn and only son. Has the ability to light his fists on fire and can turn into a dragon. Physically appears to be in his late 20s, although he is actually in his 50s. Liu is currently in a relationship with Kitana Okaia-Morse, who is about 30 years his junior. Liu will occasionally take on 'Johnson' as his last name and use 'Kang' as a middle name. Portrayed by: Ludi Lin (cast as Liu Kang before he was cast in the Mortal Kombat movie)
