Just had an anon come into my ask box, tell me he read my dni list and was sad he couldn’t interact with my blog because he was a couple decades older than me and an antivaxxer. He then proceeded to send me a video with detailed instructions on when to watch it to prove that I shouldn’t have gotten vaccinated and why he never will.
So how’s your guys’ day going lol

I'm so jaded towards people who talk about "vaccine injury" from the COVID vaccine, especially because people who talk about it absolutely do not care about sick people even remotely.
First of all, you can't be antivaxx and want to help people who are ill/disabled, the two are literally on opposite ends of the spectrum of caring about disabled people. Vaccines are the only thing holding back a tidal wave of bacteria and viruses from taking out the most immunologically vulnerable people in our society.
Second of all, these are the same people who religiously denied the deaths and disablings that happened as a result of COVID. The concern is not with how many people get sick or die. The concern is justifying an incredibly stupid and selfish point by throwing people who may have actually suffered side effects from a vaccine under the bus. Instead of encouraging people to talk through why some people experience severe side effects and what we can do to prevent them in the future, people who have suffered vaccine side effects are brought up as a gotcha as to why vaccine are useless and dangerous, even if far more people are sick or killed as a result of the illness that's being prevented. The conversation as a whole would be so much better if it wasn't "do vaccines work and do the benefits outweigh the risk?" (yes to both, scientifically backed) but rather "what are the risks and how do we reduce them?"
❌antivaxxers dni, op is disabled and doesn't put up with people putting its friends in danger❌

Imagine COVID killing a family member that you love dearly, telling people that you and some friends of yours have lost loved ones to COVID because you want them to take it seriously, and someone's response is "So?" SO? SO?? This is worse than just being ignorant about it! This person isn't denying that COVID is real, they just don't care! They say "So?" to someone who suffered loss of family! What a callous, heartless, selfish POS of a human being! I'm sure when she or a loved one is lying in a hospital bed, laboring to breathe and past the point of being able to do anything about it, they will remember they had said that.

When I learned the details of the "vaccines cause autism paper" and how it was published around my year of birth I couldn't help but wonder how different my life could've been if it'd gotten into my mom's hands at the wrong time. Because, you see, the study linked vaccines and autism through intestinal issues and I was both suspected of autism and had intestinal issues as a child. Hell, imagine how different my life could've been had I been born in the wrong place at the wrong time to be part of that study!

Well I forgot anti-maskers existed and I certainly thought they'd given up.
So I saw a lot of anti-maskers saying that "this virus is small so it'll go through your mask!"
Would you like a fancy ass respiratory mask? I don't think so. Also, tell me why I didn't get COVID ONCE during the pandemic, despite interacting with people who had COVID at the time, but when I stopped wearing a mask, in 2022, I got COVID. So is it just by chance? I mean yeah, anything bad can happen even with as many precautions as you'd like, but not taking those precautions at all would endanger you more.
So yeah, end of the story, anti-maskers, dni you're fucking stupid, go back to kindergarten :)

Do you think there are any connections between people who are suspicious that COVID disproportionately affects antivaxxers and people who thought the AIDS epidemic was God's punishment, other than seeming generally right-wing?

saw the craziest van today on my marshalls trip. didn't see the "take one" ziplock until after i left and was looking closer at the photos so regretfully i did not get to take one. maybe i will go back tomorrow to see if it's still there.
on the take one thing it does list his website, which is pretty awful if you can read through the crashing every 3 seconds lmao.
i took some screenshots of what i thought was "interesting" if anyone is actually interested i can post them lmao.

Antivaxxer: I don't like vaccines.
Me: Right. You mean the thing where you willing expose yourself to a disease so that your body can learn to combat it naturally?
Antivaxxer: Yeah, I prefer herd immunity.
Me: Right. You mean the thing where you willing expose yourself to a disease so that your body can learn to combat it naturally?
Antivaxxer: Exa... wait...

Anti-Vaccine Movement
Mean Streak Media needs to stop reporting on Anti-Vaxx stories like they are valid concerns.
Healthcare is always a process of weighing advantages over disadvantages. It's acting because something is has given the actor cause for concern that.
It has always been a balancing act on the Spectrum of Health.
The more well we are, typically, the happier we are.
There are times when our bodies miss dangers in healthcare but generally, it expresses itself quite clearly in regards to health.
Viruses are weird, they exist on that periphery where we can literally say they are not alive nor are they dead.
So we cannot take a pill to "kill" the virus in the same way we take one to kill bacterium.
Instead, they exist as one of those things that your body learns to deal with through experience.
Thus, early vaccines were just a lesser dose of the virus itself.
Yes, that dose had a mortality rate about zero but it decreased it.
Instead of asking yourself why Vaccines are Covid would be mandated and ask why the Flu hasn't been eradicated or is it because the Rich have access to Vaccines?
Also, Long Coviders, I guess welcome to the Chronic Club where people who don't understand Trauma will keep telling you to slap a smile or a plaster on it because they are used to you taking their adrenaline and stimulation.
Reactionaries are what happen when Non-Conformists (the chronically introverted who actually feed off people but are anxious) stop staying quiet.

ah yes, a self identified experience relating to the self or selves and how one sees their internal monologue/dialogue and/or dissociation is totally comparable to ableists fearmongering about a government poisoning people and giving people *Autism (said in a scary bad tone)*. this is totally how things work.
(/sarcasm)
(also, endogenics just want to be themselves, whereas antivaxxers often suggest to ppl medical "advice" that will get them killed, they are not the same)
This!
But... I do actually want so offer a small defense of certain antivaxxers. Because I think you can break them into two groups. One are just conspiracy people who are just looking for conspiracies everywhere and want to find things to blame the government or illuminati or whatever for...
But another are parents who see their child develop a mental disorder, see how that affects their child's life, and are upset and looking for something to blame.
And in the past... the people they were expected to blame... were themselves.
As always, Freud breaks everything he touches. If you look back to the time before the hoax that vaccines caused autism, the popular theory thanks to Freud was that autism was caused by "refrigerator moms." If your child develops autism, then it must be because you're a bad mother and did something wrong.
So when someone pops up claiming autism is caused by vaccines, it gives all the women who were told that they caused their child's autism another explanation.
The theory is wrong, completely debunked and incredibly harmful.
But I guess... I do feel a measure of sympathy for mothers who were victims of sexism, made to feel responsible for their child developing a mental illness that was outside of anyone's hands, and later jumped to the first explanation they found that didn't involve blaming the parents.
And I can't help but feel that this monster was created by a long history of sexism in psychiatry. That if psychiatrists hadn't pushed for so long that autism was caused by the mothers, the mothers wouldn't have been so susceptible to this type of manipulation and the antivax movement wouldn't have become what it did today.
A lot of harmful ideologies don't exist in a vacuum, and I don't want to forget the environment that allowed this particular one to fester and grow into what it is today.
