Okay, I saw the MHA leak. Damn it! Seriously, Hori? Seriously? So you're going to let me drag this damn trash? Oh my god, Tenko and her friends playing together, Tenko's little smile. Scream! LOV Shigaraki misses LOV. And the solution to every parent's problem when their children don't have special powers is Contact someone you don't know and ask them to give you'r chilren special powers. Do the citizens of MHA have such easy access to information about the underground world? (Do I have to exclude the Midoriya family? Because I saw that only rich people went to ask, such as Aoyama's parents and Tenko's father) You're really going to take it this way, Horikoshi. Take the food left in the trash and heat it for me, Drake, and tell me it's a masterpiece? Ee dok thong (this is a rude word in my country, it can be translated as "whore") Damn MHA, there are only wasted possibilities. and wasted possibilities

Really, are they really a family?? A family where one person dies (Twice) and there are noone crying. Even if there is, it's only one. who took a knife and tried to stab the girl and asked her, "What do you want to do with me?" And forget about the vengeance you want for your family. Immediately the same girl who had been stabbed to death told her, "the cutest in the world." What the fuck is this? and another person (my sister likes him But I'm not ) even though he have a really bad house But he tricked an 18-year-old woman into joining a genocidal war to cause as much damage as possible. The most people die The more the better. What the fuck? There was no way I could live in the same world as these people. Am I an alien?? What the heck!! Sorry, I'm freaking out. Tsukauchi being entirely correct all chapter a crime is crime the past doesn't go away this gives me some hope that the lov will be held accountable for there crimes

Yes no matter what crime you've committed your still human at the end of the day but there's a but

You can only really change if you have the desire to change

And of course we have gentle criminal actually acknowledging his mistakes unlike the lov and actually trying to make for them point being the villains are human and should be treated as humans but should be held accountable for there crimes and crime is a crime the past doesn't go way

I know people want the lov to get a redemption that's not happening first to even turn there lives around they would have to have the desire to change none of them want to change

And none of them acknowledge the crimes and mistakes I know some people genuinely want toga to have redemption but how can she have a redemption when see doesn't even think about how her actions affected the families of the boys she killed even after twice death

For any lov member expect for kurogiri his nomu to get a redemption they actually have realise that they are wrong for murdering innocent civilians and heroes and I know much lov stans complain about the heroes dehumanizing the heroes when the villains do the exact same thing

The lov doesn't even acknowledge the people they kill as human dabi constantly dehumanizes shoto the league litteraly uses the nomu and don't even considered the fact that dead people are used to create them don't even consider that those people had families don't even consider the fact that the doctor owned orphanages and children hostiptals so atleast some the nomu where made from children

Kurogiri being a prime example being made form shirakumo innocent 17 boy who there now using as a tool

As you can see it's not the heroes responsibility to redeem them if the lov members want any version of redemption they would have to decide to change on there own just like gentle criminal la brava lady nagant and endeavor

I don't even feel slightly attached to the LoV villains at all. I liked Shîgaraki at first but since AFO took over him his character lost me. I used to enjoy Dābi as well but he lost me too: he's a monomanical with occasional depth. The best part about his character is the artwork but aside from that he's a broken record.

Never liked Toga, or Yandare archetype overall.

In general, they're deeply self-absorbed and hypocritical characters who expect therapy from strangers insead of consequences.

These heroes are more like police and aren't responsible for saving people with superpowers but arresting them... yet this is how Hori arranged a forced redemptive narrative.

the struggle of reading bnha right now as somebody who just doesn’t care about the villains... the narrative assumes i do, and is trying to tug on my heart strings or whatever, given all the focus on dabi and toga, but it doesn’t interest meeeee

i’ve never particularly liked the villains. they’re just very stereotypical villains man, what’s there that’s interesting? i can’t think of one character trait for any of them that surprised me by not being what i expected.

If anon had to name just one single concept that's damaged fandom culture more than any other, just one single concept that has caused so many of today's entitled fandoms like the Dabi fans, Toga fans, etc., it's "relatability". Most of us judge people based on their actions, but fandoms judge morality by Which Characters We Personally Relate To. Dabi fans relate to child abuse, so "only Dabi's pain counts". Toga fans relate to mental trauma, so "only Toga's pain counts". And so on and so forth.

I understand that it’s easier to sympathize with characters when you understand their pain and why they do the things they do, and why that understanding makes it easier to forgive. However, for me there are some things that I can’t--and won’t—forgive. I sympathize with these two and feel bad for their pain, but that doesn’t mean their crimes were okay or should be overlooked.

I am sincerely sick of hori presenting the league’s unity as a good thing when they’re hurting people together for a selfish and crappy goal

damn me too, i'm sick of hori pulling some cheap baits of sad past, pitiful moment for those villains instead of showing more that they are wrong. like, he clearly did that, calling out their faults. but those callouts just... passed like a background instead of weighting the actual importance of its meaning? that's why i'm so frustrated with the dabi-shouto battle. hori never emphasizes the faults of the villains. instead he threw in all the bullshits found family this, sad past that, corrupt system this, bad heroes that, and i disgust this action.

You know it’d be funny if it weren’t so sad how many times the villains are the ones to attempt to open some form of dialogue.

Only for the heroes to respond “No. You hurt people. Shut up.” Or perhaps worse; “I just don’t care.”

And then wonder why they keep resorting to violence when there must be better ways available. Surely they, the heroes, take no part in fostering their belief otherwise.

I wonder if this will come back to bite them? Like eventually some of the hero kids are gonna directly ask the League to trust them to act as the next generation of heroes and guardians of society; only for the League respond:

What, you? Mr. “Come home to your abuser”? Mr. “Just be a good role model for the next generation to solve discrimination”? No, its not gonna work that way Ms. “Consequences for your actions”. Because you’ll just say “but what about this or that or these guys who’d be inconvenienced” instead without doing anything. So no, we don’t trust you.

Because really, this stuff does genuinely make them hard to trust right now, especially when it keeps happening. And I want them to grow past that; but I also think it’d be neat if they ran into trouble for having these views at all and had to really prove they grew past them.

Villains are those who have been abandoned by superhero society. TW: long post

It's something I've been wondering about for a while and how true it is. If that's the case, let's talk about it.

From the picture above we get the idea of LOV using violence against violence. This is a good starting point for questioning MHA's superhero society: "The use of violence Solving the problem of violence” is it a good solution in this society or not? Of course, this is not a very elegant point when we come to Shigaraki's true, deeper reasons, what his true desires are.

On the red circle layer is The entire cause of Shigaraki Tomura's character is his entire cause. "Destruction" has no other reason beyond that. Just because of what happened to him, "Shimura Tenko"

The above scene is how Tenko felt. He wanted someone to lend a helping hand to him. And in the end, the person who came to help him was nothing short of an AFO, which is not all I have to say. Because there was another episode that happened and I felt like this was the little boy that Midoriya Izuku wanted to save?

Wait a minute…I understand that it is about your father. Emotions take you…but Tenko's (Tomura) mother tries to hug him to comfort him. “My dear, everything will be fine.” But she died because of your power. Isn't that a matter of tragedy? Shigaraki ?? Are you relieved that you destroyed everyone in your family except your father??? What is this?? Okay, I'll try to calm down a little more. yes ! The story of Shimura Tenko or Shigaraki is really sad. And it's true. But is there anything else that makes me feel like this? This guy can't turn back.

Okay….damn it! Is this a character worth reforming?? So ?? Blame nothing but others. I personally can float away, I'm not wrong. Everything is just me, me, me! Don't you believe it? Okay, let's continue.

And I know there's people who want the lov to get a redemption like gentle criminal is getting now but you need understand the difference between the lov and gentle criminal

There are similarities sad backstory leading someone into becoming a villain here's the difference we have gentle criminal who turned himself in and is held accountable for his crimes and he mentions his mistakes in this chapter and holds himself accountable and is that moment making up for all his mistakes and we had him flashback to the gorilla cop saying he could start over

He the main reason the all those prisoners from the 7 th prison are locked up

For the certain lov members to be redeemed like gentle say for example toga she would actually have to acknowledge her own crimes and how her killing those boys affected there families twice died and she's still can't comprehend that her actions could have affected other people the way twice death affected her

The reality is if the league survives there going jail I'm not saying the lov can't be redeemed I'm saying for that to happen they have to hold themselves accountable for there crimes and they have be held accountable as well

The only one in the lov that won't go to jail is kurogiri because again his nomu and has no choice but to follow orders and his programming there probably gives to continue to try and find way to undo what ujiko did to him

I'm certain that kurogiri will be helping the heores soon if aizawa and mic can get through shirakumo again

And also lady nagant is back and it's seems she's also realized her mistakes and is back to working with the heroes

Ok, I’m arguing with someone about the Todoroki family, and like I get there maybe some responsibility on Rei’s shoulders as a parent. However, they��re saying Rei was abusive towards Enji, that she abused him and her being aggressive and constantly yelling is what changed him. They said he was a victim turned abuser, and that his family emotionally abused him. Did Rei abuse him? Was he emotionally abused by his family? Like the situation was a spiral I guess but in no way did it give off that he was the victim of the family situation???

Tell them to reread the manga. In the best way possible, really. I probably have to reread the manga too because I don't remember all that well the whole Todofam drama, but here I go:

For what I know, Enji's trauma started with the death of his father. That's what motivated him to become a hero. After that, he got blinded by his perfectionism and his jealousy towards All Might.

The only reason the Todofam exists is because Enji wanted a child with both fire and ice quirks. That's why he proposed to Rei. The Himuras were very old-fashioned, in the sense that they didn't even like their members marrying outside of the family so as to not stain their names. Their quirks got weaker with time, they started losing money and influence. That's when Enji arrived: he'd give money to the Himuras if Rei were to marry him.

Now, Rei's trauma comes from her family and the ways of the Himuras. Her trauma didn't start with Enji, but it surely intensified with it.

Attempting to create a quirks through arranged marriages is a dangerous dangerous thing to do. We see a doctor telling that to both Enji and Rei. They were aware of that. The problem with the union of Enji and Rei is that, even if there was love at the beginning —even if— it depended solely on the quirks of the children. A man who willingly pushes away his children because they don't have the quirk he wants and that forces their mother to raise them alone— that's not a good husband or father, you know?

Rei was there to provide him with children and to take care of them. It sounds more like she was an employee than her wife. It was abuse right from the start, okay?

Rei did what he asked. Birthed his children and took care of them. She was submissive at first. Went along with his plans. You know the drill.

When it was revealed that Touya's body couldn't handle the heat of his flames, that's when things got ugly. They knew the risk, it shouldn't have been a surprise. At that point, Enji had put a lot of pressure and expectations on little Touya. He filled the kid's head with lies, made Touya value himself only by his dad's expectations. Touya was born for one reason alone and he had been living for it and it was killing him.

Rei saw that. Enji saw that.

Both tried to do damage control and backtrack, but Touya was too smart. While they told Touya he could live his life as something else than the hero his father wanted, he knew that it made him a failure in their eyes. The stress of destroying her children's lives got to both Rei and Enji. It wasn't something intangible. It was their son burning alive right before their eyes. It was their son telling Rei the truth of her marriage to her face.

Let's be honest here, Rei was one step away from being a slave. She married Enji to save her family and damned children in the process.

I think in order to properly understand Rei's role in the whole drama, you need to consider certain cultural aspects. Like how women are viewed in Japan, what is expected from them once they get married, the power a husband has over his wife, how women get economically trapped by men in relationships all the time... I'm not an expert on those aspects, but it's worth mentioning them.

Now, back to Rei and Enji.

Rei started "fighting" Enji after Touya was fully deemed a failure. You can see that she didn't like the idea of another child, especially because it'd be terrible for Touya's wellbeing. It'd confirm he was not enough. Still, she went along with Enji's plan. It was not a happy house. Enji was acting more and more aggressively, Rei was more and more nervous. Shouto was born and Touya tried to kill him— he didn't want to be replaced, he did not want to lose his place at home.

It started building. what happened to Touya was not confined to Sekoto Peak. It was years in the making, that tragedy. I can only imagine how Rei felt when she got the news. She had begged her son to stay, but her submissive role couldn't save him. It wouldn't be enough.

Touya dies. Enji spirals.

Horikoshi is careful to draw Rei terrified. She tells ugly truths to Enji's face. Is that abuse? Is it abuse if a woman who's being treated like an employee and who had to watch her husband traumatize their kids screams at said man? We know that Enji was physically abusive with Shouto and that he even went against Rei, which made Shout stand up to him to stop him from hurting his mom.

The only reason why Rei had a mental breakdown (freaking diagnosed) is because the very eyes of Enji were enough to make her shake and want to defend herself physically.

It's obvious she was scared for her life. It's even more obvious she was convinced he would hurt her. She was terrified of her own children 'cause they looked like him.

Rei was definitely not the best mother. She didn't deserve to reach that level of abuse, tho.

What made Endeavor be like that is the violence of the society he grew up in and his very own competitiveness and low self-esteem. Then the consequences of his own actions. For All Might and Deku to feel like they need to protect Shouto from Endeavor? For Rei to rather be in a mental hospital than at home? For Touya to go back and decide he didn't want to be alive?

He is textually treated like a villain in the manga. At least at first.

Even if Rei confronting Enji caused him some psychological damage, it's the same as saying that a criminal got physiological trauma from committing his crimes. Saying Rei was the one who made him like that is awful victim blaming.

Enji created all those situations himself. I guess that's why Rei reminds him at the hospitals that he doesn't get to play the "poor me" role, when they all have been dealing with the hurt of what happened to their family.

Later, Endeavor acknowledges it himself. He takes responsibility for it, stops feeling pity for himself and decides to do something about it. Namely, puts his life on the line to solve the issue with the Todorokis. You know how fire is known for its purifying properties? You can say that the Todofam burning together gave them a second chance, somehow.

Their resolution involved Rei taking an active role in saving Touya (same with Fuyumi and Natsuo), while Enji put himself at the service of the son he always ignored and mistreated. I didn't write it, it was all Horikoshi.

So again, kindly tell the other person to reread the manga and then you both can engage in that discussion again. As it is, I doubt it'd reach any productive term.

at this point i think i’m probably in the minority but i truly hate the LoV and i don’t want to see them saved. like, you can talk about seeing them as people and that the story is about saving others all you want, but it still doesn’t change the fact that they’ve killed so many people, and are still actively participating in a plan that will devastate the entire world.

aoyama gets a bit of a pass for being threatened into his “villainy”, but even him i don’t want to see get off with no punishment. i don’t care that the league all have tragic backstories, because that doesn’t give them the greenlight to mass murder.

nobody is forcing the LoV into their acts, they’re all willing, and i don’t enjoy the fact that izuku, uraraka, and todoroki are all in the “let’s save them” group because honestly - save them from what? the consequences from their own decisions and choices?
