Olivia 'Ollie' de la Rosa,Marco's cousin on Angela's side!!He's 19/20,transmasc genderfluid and bigender,neurodivergent-autistic especially!-and half afro-dominican thanks to his dad.Him and Marco were always like siblings growing up and unknowingly validated eachother's genders very often,with Marco having been connected to femininity from the start and Ollie having been a big tomboy when he was younger.His parents were ignorant but not malicious about his queerness and neurodivergence and tried their best to support him despite not understanding him

He was a special ed kid and that put a damper on his self-eestem thanks to getting bullied for it but Star coming in and bringing the magic of the other dimensions with her and him joining in on her and Marco's shenanigans a lot helped him love himself for being different from other humans and he grew into a very unashamedly weird and bubbly person!!Also over the course of the series,he becomes femme and his egg cracks thanks to Marco coming out as a trans girl in season 3 and changing her name to Minerva and going by 'Minnie' to match him♡He has intergenerational friendships with Jackie,Janna and Tom too and acts as the 'Team Mom/Big Sister' to all five of them!!And also knows tons on magic to the point of being an expert by human standards <3 He even ends up getting his own wand made for him by Moon as a thank you for all his help in saving Mewni,which is pastel punk themed!!

This is a bracket to determine which of the many memorable NPCs from across the Professor Layton games are the greatest.

GAMES INCLUDED: Every game except LBMR. Eternal Diva characters are also not included here.

WHAT COUNTS AS AN NPC?: Anyone who doesn't have a puzzle animation. Characters excluded are Layton, Luke, Flora, Clive, Emmy, Randall, Aurora, Des, Espella, Phoenix, Maya, Katrielle, Ernest, Sherl, Hastings, and Emiliana.

WILL THERE BE NOMINATIONS?: Nope! Every NPC will be included.

WHAT ABOUT THE LAYTONMOBILE/MOLENTARY EXPRESS?: No vehicles. Not characters.

WHY IS NAIYA YOUR ICON?: In my opinion, she's one of the more underrated NPCs of the series. I'll probably cycle through some of the ones I have available to me right now.

WHAT CRITERIA SHOULD I VOTE ON?: Whatever makes you happy :)

ARE ALTER EGOS SEPERATE CHARACTERS?: No. For instance, Ratman is not included because his secret identity is in the tournament.

US OR UK NAMES?: I will try to make available as many names for the NPCs as possible! Which includes their Japanese names and as many names in the localizations as I am able to obtain from the wiki and my own sources. I'll probably reliably have the English (both versions where applicable), Japanese, and French names for every character when I do the bracket rounds. The list below however is entirely in English.

give me a character and i’ll give you 10+ headcannons: viviana rossi.

a rotina de viviana foi repleta de atividades durante os anos da escola. os pais não acreditavam que conseguiriam trabalhar com toda a energia da menina caso suas ocupações oficiais fossem apenas ir para a escola e voltar para casa, e achavam que precisavam de uma solução mais a longo prazo pra aquilo. então, tiveram a ideia de inscrevê-la em várias extracurriculares oferecidas na escola para toda a energia e disposição da filha ser destinada a algo bom. assim, teve parte em um monte de clubes e esportes na escola, desde a jardinagem até o atletismo, ou a culinária e o vôlei - este sendo um em que continuou até o ensino médio.

por mais que adorasse o vôlei, de longe, a sua atividade favorita acabou sendo o clube de teatro. através dele, descobriu completamente o seu amor pela atuação, todo o mundo do teatro e o quanto simplesmente nada se comparava a estar nas fantasias fornecidas para as apresentações. quando se lembra das apresentações escolares, suas favoritas foram como donna em mamma mia! e helena em sonho de uma noite de verão.

embora apoiadores de toda a sua dedicação ao teatro no início, com os anos, seus pais começaram a ficar preocupados com o investimento de viviana na área. irmã mais nova de quatro filhos, enquanto seus irmãos estavam ocupados com as suas aplicações para a universidade, ou com a vida acadêmica ao já terem entrado nas mesmas, ela não estava nada focada nos estudos na escola; tirava notas boas, só que não fazia nada além disso para demonstrar interesse, na opinião deles.

falando em seus irmãos, são eles: angela, seis anos mais velha, formada na upenn em engenharia química; marco, quatro anos mais velho, terminando a residência de cirurgia geral no john hopkins; lorenzo, um ano mais velho, formado na nyu em odontologia.

sabendo que não teria o apoio dos pais, começou a juntar dinheiro nos dois verões antes de sua formatura para poder se mudar para nova york quando tivesse o seu diploma em mãos e a liberdade em sua frente. entretanto, quando anunciou a sua partida, tiveram uma briga extremamente séria, e até seus irmãos mais velhos voltaram para casa para ajudar em uma intervenção.

no fim, não adiantou de nada todo o escarcéu da família, porque juntou o que iria querer manter em sua vida, pegou seu dinheiro e logo estava no primeiro trem pra nova york - viv, por sinal, é de richmond, capital da virginia. durante três semanas, moreu na casa de sua tia denise, porém, a mulher não tinha espaço fixo para ela, já que vivia com seus três filhos e tinha transformado seu quarto de hóspedes como um atêlie para o seu trabalho. foi uma ajuda e tanto, apesar disso, e logo arrumou um emprego de garçonete e conseguiu se mudar.

o trabalho não era grande coisa, porém, ter ido morar com algumas meninas de lá que estavam precisando de uma nova colega de quarto, bem quando viv entrou no restaurante, facilitou muito. saía de lá direto pra fazer audições ou ir nas aulas com uma das colegas que também queria um futuro na atuação, tentando guiar todo o novo caminho que tinha pra sua vida.

pegou várias partes pequenas em off broadways até o momento de virada em sua carreira: pegar o papel de substituta em uma peça muito importante, little shop of horrors. não esperava realmente conseguir tomar parte no espetáculo, entretanto, por um contratempo com a atriz de audrey, acabou assumindo o papel. foi muito bem recebida e, por mais inesperado que fosse, as coisas pareciam começar a se encaixar pra ela. tudo só comprovava que queria estar naquele lugar mais do que tudo.

seu filme favorito é nasce uma estrela, em sua versão de 1976. contudo, ama toda versão da obra, e já os assistiu tanto ao ponto de saber boa parte das falas quando se trata dos momentos mais importantes. as músicas do mais recente, então, não saíram de seu spotify desde o lançamento do filme. também é muito fã de grey's anatomy, e reassiste as temporadas frequentemente.

embora seja alguém que consiga levar bem críticas construtivas e conselhos em sua área de trabalho, viviana não sabe lidar com conselhos em sua vida pessoal. na verdade, tem uma tendência enorme a fazer tudo, menos o que lhe disseram; isso que, na verdade, é justamente o tipo de pessoa a sempre pedir a opinião de outros sobre o que deveria fazer. frequentemente se arrepende por isso, é importante ser dito.

Silvia Ortiz, la nueva recordwoman del maratón sudamericano

Un gran fin de semana vivió el atletismo ecuatoriano. El sábado, desde Boston (USA) con el récord sudamericano indoor de Carmen Alder en los 5.000 metros. Y este domingo 3 de diciembre desde Valencia con las grandes actuaciones de sus fondistas. Entre los hombres, Oswaldo Segundo Jami marcó 2:09:05 para batir el récord nacional que Silvio Guerra mantenía desde hace 24 años. Y en damas, con la nueva plusmarca sudamericana de Silvia Patricia Ortiz, quien además obtuvo su ticket directo hacia los Juegos Olímpicos de París. Ortiz, con 2:24:50, encabezó el destacado lote ecuatoriano, que incluyó las superaciones personales de Mary Zeneide Granja (2:29:30) y Katherine Tisalema (2:32:50). Ortiz dejó atrás los 2:25:35 que la colombiana Angie Rocío Orjuela había conseguido hace poco más de dos meses en el maratón de Berlin. Nacida el 30 de junio de 1992 en Riobamba, Ortiz se venía destacando en los primeros planos de nuestra región en las últimas temporadas pero ahora dio su definitivo salto de calidad. Ortiz comenzó en el atletismo cuando tenía diez años, en su ciudad natal, después de una prueba escolar. Graduada en Educación Física en la Universidad Central de Ecuador, casada y con una hija de 10 años, Valentina, luego concentró sus entrenamientos bajo la guía del profesor Edison Lasso en el club de atletismo Quitumbre. Ese mismo año fue 7ª. en el Campeonato Sudamericano de Maratón, en el marco del Maratón de Buenos Aires, donde marcó 2:42:51. Desde entonces, su campaña fue la siguiente: - Se coronó campeona sudamericana de maratón en Asunción con 2:48:08. También participó en el Sudamericano de pista en Guayaquil, logrando la medalla de plata de los 10 mil metros con su marca personal de 34:06.61, detrás de la venezolana Edymar Brea. - En el 21k de Buenos Aires registró su marca personal para la ditancia (1:11:30) y quedó 4ª. en la clasificación del Campeonato Sudamericano. Ortiz logró el título sudamericano de medio maratón en Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, con 1:14:36. Y al mes siguiente asistió al Campeonato Mundial de Budapest, donde fue la sudamericana mejor ubicada en el maratón: 29ª. con 2:35:09. También estuvo en el Mundial de Ruta en Riga, quedando 35ª. en medio maratón con 1:12:44. Not sure if this is the legacy Marcos Rey wanted, but it sure as hell is the one he's getting.

On August 19th, Jonathan Demme’s absolutely sublime 1988 comedy Married to the Mob celebrated its 35th anniversary. The film tells the story of a former bridge-and-tunnel mob wife (Michelle Pfeiffer), who seemingly never felt comfortable in such a role, trying to find herself with a fresh start in the Big City. Lilith Sympa Fille de Daniel et Mary-Sue Sympa, Lilith est la deuxième fille de la famille, née seulement 3 min 45 secondes après sa sœur Angela. Jusqu'à aujourd'hui, elle garde en elle un profond ressentiment pour ses parents, car ils se sont toujours plus intéressés à la brillante Angela qu'à la banal Lilith. Alors tout est sujet de dispute avec son foyer comme: son style, ses tatouages ou même sa relation avec Dirk Dourève. Arrivera-t-elle un jour à se réconcilier avec son foyer? Bad News of the Week:

The European Union is actually well positioned in terms of foreign policy. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Council President Charles Michel are internationally recognized and have long been involved in the G7, for example. And Josep Borrell, formerly a Spanish minister and President of the European Parliament, as "High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy," is also an internationally recognized personality, the EU foreign minister, so to speak.

Nevertheless, each nation state likes to cook its own soup, a classic political power game. By this I don't even mean guys like Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who regularly has to make it clear who is the master of the house by refusing to agree on common terms (not to say blackmailing). No, I mean, at least this week, French President Emmanuel Macron. He has been dreaming of being the "leading European" since the departure of Angela Merkel. Or as it is called in Washington DC, "the one to call when you want to talk to Europe."

All right, Macron is undoubtedly a committed European. And France, as the EU's second-largest member state, is a central power on the continent. With that comes the responsibility to appear wise, balanced and, above all, coordinated in awareness of one's own position. And that is precisely what Macron is not doing. The most recent example was his visit to Xi Jinping at Easter. Where he preferred to make his own mark and put France's economic interests first. As French head of state, he is allowed to do that, no question. But not under the European flag.

People on the old continent rubbed their eyes in amazement at his announcement that Europe should act more independently in the conflict with China over Taiwan. Explicitly delineated to the USA. If that would not happen, Europe would be in danger of becoming a vassal between the United States and China, even though it could be a third pole. "The worst thing would be to think that we Europeans should be fellow travelers on this issue and adapt to the American rhythm and a Chinese overreaction." Excuse me?

Criticism came from all sides. Manfred Weber, chairman of the conservative EPP as the largest group in the EU Parliament, for example, said that the EU states were making themselves untrustworthy "if on the one hand you demand sovereignty for Europe and then conclude every economic deal you can with China. (...) The Chinese leadership will not respect the Europeans like that." Or U.S. Senator Marco Rubio: If Europe does not side with China or the U.S. on the Taiwan issue, then perhaps the U.S. should not side with either in the Ukraine conflict. The unanimous opinion: a foreign policy disaster for Europe.

German Foreign Minister Annlena Baerbock showed in Beijing yesterday that there is another way. She demanded not only no Chinese arms deliveries to Russia, but also no so-called dual-use goods such as IT or chemicals that could be used militarily. She called for de-escalation on the Taiwan issue. She requested fair economic conditions. She denounced eroding human rights and discrimination. In short, she showed more balls than Macron. And she never forgot her role as a German politician. Not once did she presume to speak for Europe. Good girl.

Good News of the Week:

Germany's last nuclear power plants will be shut down today. Forever, please. Because that was the plan of the German government, which not coincidentally includes the Greens. But the wailing is loud: Is our energy supply really secure? Aren't nuclear power plants cleaner than coal-fired power plants? What can be bad about a form of energy on which neighbor Poland (announced just this week) is betting its future? Why shut down safe nuclear power plants here, when next door in the Czech Republic, decrepit Soviet-era plants are crumbling away? And isn't this just a symbolic debate by the Greens?

No. And once again, in all clarity: No! Nuclear energy is and remains Pandora's box of energy sources. Three-Mile-Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima are already forgotten? If the technology of a photovoltaic system, a wind turbine or - yes, for gods sake - a coal-fired power plant fails, you simply shut it down. That's it. This is not possible with a nuclear reactor. Because the nuclear isotopes don't give a shit if mankind doesn't want them anymore. They just keep on reacting. Until eternity. That is their nature.

Just to remind you: the half-life of uranium 235, the isotope most commonly used in fuel rods, is 703,800,000 years. And it takes ten half-lives (yeah, that means over 7 billion years) before it is no longer highly harmful to humans. So the stuff is still reacting after a period of time before mankind even existed - because the prehistoric man Homo habilis emerged just a comparatively paltry 2 million years ago in East Africa. And still there is no secure final disposal for the nuclear waste. Not because the relevant authorities would not make an effort. But simply because the inconceivably long time in which the waste could enter the groundwater, for example, is beyond the imagination of material science and geology. By far.

So: any nation, any country, any government that decides not to add an additional risk to the one that already exists should be commended. Period. So, at this point, also a "Thank you, well done!". And, dear Mr. Macron, if you are already looking for your place in the history books: don't bet on a special role in Taiwan policy (see above), rather put an end to the madness of your country's energy policy. Unbelievable: sometimes even Germany is suitable as a role model for France. And I don't even have to put an ironic emoji behind this statement - at least in this case....

Personal happy moment of the week:

For over 30 years, I have hardly changed physically. Okay, the connective tissue is weakening and I have already shrunk by 4 cm. The only difference that really stands out, besides less and grayer hair, is my belly. Of which I thought it knew only one development: bigger and thicker. Last Wednesday I had to get out of the house early and wanted to let my wife sleep in. So I put my clothes out the night before. And then realized the next day that my pants were too baggy for me. And had to keep pulling them up all day to the amusement of my colleagues. And still thought that was pretty good. Because after all, that means nothing other than that my belly has been more fatty before.

I couldn't care less...

...about the leakage of top-secret US documents. How can a 21-year-old National Guardsman, who is barely old enough to buy a can of bad beer, already have access to such explosive information? This is simply a flaw in the system.

As I write this...

...I'm still full to bursting from a brunch with friends. The second time this week after Easter Monday. This could directly become my favorite meal. Especially if my wife makes a quiche for it. It just tastes good every time.

Post Scriptum

In 1938, farmer Earl Silas Tupper had a brilliant idea when he learned about polyethylene plastic at the DuPont chemical company: at a time when refrigerators were not yet a standard in every kitchen, food would keep longer in an airtight plastic bowl. Tupperware was born, the rest is history. Tupper parties have already taken place at my house, too, and certainly three dozen pieces are to be found in various cupboards and drawers for years - and in the refrigerator, of course.

Now Tupperware Brands Corporation is threatened with insolvency as sales and stock have plummeted. Since this can hardly be due to the product, especially in times when disposable packaging is being abolished, it must be the marketing and distribution. Because until 2018, at least in Germany, the products were only available at these legendary Tupperware parties. Now there is an online store, but still no sales in stationary retail. Allegedly, "promising talks" are currently taking place, one reads. I hope this happens quickly enough. I would really miss this brand.
