We may have lost the election but that doesn't mean we will stop fighting for the future that we truly deserve. Nagsisimula pa lang tayo! 🤍🤍🤍 Patuloy tayong titindig na puno ng pag-asa at ng radikal na pagmamahal para sa ating bayan. Patuloy tayong magsisilbi na liwanag sa dilim, kasama si VP Leni.

I love going on social media to read up on news and updates from other people, but for the past couple of days, I haven’t seen a single jovial or triumphant post. Some of my acquaintances have been quiet as well and I have been in my feelings too. For some reasons, I felt like I must check in on my friends so earlier today, I posted an Instagram story asking my followers how they have been handling the situation. I have also taken a few minutes from my synchronous classes to ask my students how they’ve been, because I know so well that some of them are deeply affected by what happened.
I could write a whole blog entry detailing the rollercoaster of emotions that I felt for the past 48 hours or maybe I couldn’t— for these turn of events have left me speechless and shocked. Hopefully I can find the right words to describe how I’ve been putting up with all of this, but today, I am here to express my gratitude and regards to everyone who has been a part of my Kakampink journey. I don’t think I have ever fully expressed how thankful I am to those who stood up and and made this ride a memorable one.
To VP Leni,
First of all, it’s so brave of me to think that this message will reach you, but I’ll take my chance nonetheless. I have only seen you twice and those were during the Cavite Grand Rallies for Leni-Kiko and Tropang Angat. I haven’t even gotten physically close to you, but you have been the strongest instrument of hope during these dark times. You have awakened the spirit of patriotism in me and I honestly don’t think I will fight this hard for a candidate if it weren’t for you and your platforms. I have also supported you back in 2016 even if I wasn’t an eligible voter back then.
It has been my honor to support you and campaign for you in this election season. I consider it as one of the best choices I have made in my life and I will never forget this time when I chose to stand with you and be on the right side of history. You have taught me how to practice radical love and how to extend compassion even to those people who do not share the same opinion as me. The Leni-Kiko tandem and Tropang Angat have sparked a glimmer of hope in me and I hope to keep it with me and make it a guiding principle moving forward. You are the greatest Vice President this country has ever seen.
To Youth Vote for Leni-Kiko/Mendezenians for Leni-Kiko,
I am proud to say that you have built a safe and loving community of Kakampinks in our beloved town and I am even prouder to have been a part of this group/movement. The members have shown me nothing but kindness and generosity and I am in awe of the volunteerism that we have showcased given the limited amount of time and resources that the group had. I want to express my appreciation for your effort and involvement in this campaign, that despite the lack of financial gains, you poured your heart in this fight.
Attending rallies and events and participating in house to house campaign were just some of the wonderful memories I was able to share with most of you. It gave me a sense of belongingness to be surrounded by people who believe in the same things as I do. I will also not forget the conversations and stories that we shared outside the scope of election topics. I got to see life through a different lens just by simply listening to your experiences and insights. I’m looking forward to where this fight will take us and I will the group nothing but the best.
To my Rally Buddies and fellow Attendees,
Thank you for making my Cavite Grand Rally experiences fun and memorable. Standing under the blazing heat of the sun in the sea of people while dealing with hunger and discomfort became more bearable with you. Just knowing that I’m surrounded by welcoming and accepting individuals is enough for me to endure the uneasiness that lasted for hours. Jamming to musicians and bands was an experience I gladly shared with you. It was indeed therapeutic to sing at the top of our lungs and not care about how we look like.
It was also nice to visit food booths and stations with you. We were never short of food because everyone was willing to share what they have and it is a testament to the selflessness that this campaign has brought out in its attendees. Our little chitchats in between speakers and performers also made my attendance to the rallies worth it. But above these things, I know we all went to the rallies for a common reason— to stand up for what is right and best for the nation. I salute you all for your moral integrity.
To Online Kakampinks and Leni-Kiko Supporters,
I was a bit hesitant at first to go all out about my support for VP Leni and Sen. Kiko, but your reactions and comments made me more comfortable in expressing my choice. It’s been a wonderful time reading your tweets, threads, memes, bardagulan and sh--posts during this election season and it has been one of my stress relievers. I would also like to mention the content creators, creatives, and artists who used their talents and skills to further promote our political choice. Truly, this campaign has brought out the best in all of us and I’m happy to celebrate your artistry and creativity.
This is truly a memorable period in my life as a young adult and I’ll always remember and look back at the memories I shared with everyone who is a part of this campaign. I am not the type to go out of my comfort zone and turn my beliefs into action, but standing up for what I believed in became easier because of the ones that participated in this movement. The results may not be in our favor, but we weren’t defeated. The collective power we shared when we stood up for love, justice, and freedom is an indicator that we have won. We have fought and good fight and this journey will continue. Hindi ko alam kung kailan at saan, pero tuloy ang laban.
Before the election day, I started thinking that this may be the election season that I will be the most active and engaged in due to its importance and impact in my personal and professional life. But after seeing the numbers, I know that this is a long game that we’re playing. What we have started in the past few months will not be in vain and it is just a glimpse of what we could achieve in the years to come. Let’s hold on to the hope that was passed on to us by VP Leni and I hope this inspires us to do better— because we all deserve better and we owe it to our country and the future generations of Filipinos to strive for better.

Do you remember the hype?
The pressure because of the OlymPINKS? Because I do.
I remember the 500k goal because that's how competitive we are.
We have this internal competition where the goal is to be the top of OlymPinks. So, basically, it is the number of attendees per rally. As a part of the NCR team, the pressure is real!
This is my second grand rally. Second to PasigLaban.
Of course, it's still me and my cousins; Jean, Erika and Justine. This time, we have Daniel, my sister. Who's been very active in House 2 House campaigning. We left the house around 2 pm. And arrived at Macapagal Avenue around 4 in the afternoon. You will know that you are near the venue when you start seeing fellow Kakampink walking, on their rides, or by noticing the ribbons, stickers and banners on their car.
We arrived excited. And our first stop - FREE ICE CREAM from a Kakampink vendor. Imagine the generosity! And I am not even biased or exaggerating but this is by far the best ice cream I have ever tasted!
Our goal is just to be in front of an LED monitor. And luckily, we found a perfect spot. Second LED from the Macapagal bay. There are 3 stages and the next LED after the first stage from the entrance is where we decided to stop and sit. The best spot, I can say. Obviously, the people around are so nice and we received a couple of foods and goodies and swear, you can never be hungry at every rally!
Me and my sister brought our own banner with witty statements and it feels so good when people ask to take a picture of your placard.
The energy is real! At first we thought the event started a bit early, but we never thought that this event was packed with so many surprises, celebrities and performers. And even if it is already past 10 pm, the crowd is still up and shouting, laughing, singing. If I can only capture the hype and go back every time, I would. But at this moment, all I can do is to remember. Reminisce.
We only finished the speech of VPL. And decided to step out. One is because we do not want to join the large crowd going out too. After VP Leni, Ben & Ben performed. And mind you, we all love this band. But I guess it only shows the reason why we are really there.
Indeed, how beautiful it is to see your family, people, and even strangers to fight for the country. Grateful, safe, and hopeful.

I can't speak for the others, but when I said I'll be selective in who I would provide assistance for, I didn't mean I would stop helping the poor, and marginalized. I am not that petty to sacrifice the good of the vulnerable. Whatever the result may be, I would still lend my voice in amplifying the voices of the poor, less fortunate, and marginalized. I would continuously aid in fighting not only for their rights, but for the rights of every citizen, and when crises arises, I would still provide assistance in anyway that I could.
What I meant however, was that I would stop pandering to bbm supporters disguised "apolitical" within my family, friends, and relatives who were educated enough to discern what is right from wrong, yet still chose the latter. I wouldn't like to provide any assistance to people who can't see past their privilege, and mocked, insulted, and silenced my voice while I was fighting for the future of the country, and its people. They made their bed, now they should lay on it.

Malapit na ang eleksyon, at ang eleksyon sa Mayo 9 ang magdidikta sa ating susunod na anim na taon. Kaya minsan napapaisip ako kung bakit ang dahilan ng iba sa pagpili ng kanilang napupusuang kandidato ay “basta”, “respect my opinion”, “trip ko lang”, at iba pa. Kung tutuusin, pag tayo ang tinanong na, “Saan mo makikita ang iyong sarili sa 5 o 10 taon?” Aba, ang dami nating nasasagot dahil may mga plano tayo upang makamit iyon. Ganun rin sa pagpili ng kandidato, hindi lamang puro pangako ang ating titignan sa kanila. Oo, pangako sila nang pangako, may plano ba sila? Sila ba ay may kakayahang upang matupad ang mga planong ito?
Kaya noong Tanglaw Grand Rally sa Laguna, nagsalita si Sharon Cuneta at sinabi niya na ang mga slogang “Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat” at “Hello Pagkain, Goodbye Gutom” ay hindi simpleng slogan lang–kaakibat nito ang mga planong nakalatag para sa ikabubuti ng ating bansa. At ang platapormang ito ay pinag-isipan at pinag-aralan nang mabuti, realistic at hindi idealistic, hindi bara-bara lang at hinding-hindi puro unity lang ang sabat sa lahat ng problema ng bansa.
Kaya ngayong darating na eleksyon, ako ay pipili ng mga lider na may konkretong plano. Mga may napatunayan at may mapapatunayan pa.
Sa bansa.
Sa mga Filipino.
Sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda.
Sa mga estudyanteng kagaya ko na nilalaban ang aming kinabukasan.
Sa mga pamilyang Filipino.
Sa mga mangagagawa.
Sa mga OFWs.
Sa kalikasan.
Sa mga katutubong Filipino.
Sa mga kabataan.
Sa mga kababaihan.
Sa mga healthcare workers.
Sa ating mga pangarap.
Ilang araw nalang bago mag-eleksyon. May oras pa para tumindig. Hindi kayo nag-iisa. Gusto niyo bang sumama? 🌸🌾
