"Bayan, pumili ka."
Tumblr media
On Monday—9th of May, 2022—I am voting for Leni Robredo to be the next President of the Republic of the Philippines, and for Kiko Pangilinan to be her Vice President.
This is genuinely the first time I don't feel like I'm supporting and settling for a "lesser evil" candidate.
I believe—with my whole dang heart—Leni and Kiko are the very best of the candidates. By far.
They are—honest-to-god, hand on heart—genuine public servants.
So I'm going to the voting precinct on Monday not only with a clear conscience, but also teeming with hope.
And whoever you're voting for on Monday, I do hope you're able to vote with as much certainty in your choice of candidates, and the ideals they stand for.

Too stressed and anxious to type rn so have this copy pasted from discord sorry
I am watching the live national elections for the Philippines
Ferdinand Marcos Jr is winning for pres
And Sara Duterte is winning vice pres
Ferdinand is banned from europe and the usa, Faked his degrees, His father lead one of the worst regimes in Philippine history rivaling that of the Spanish and Japanese and hes just an asshole overall
And Sara is the daughter of Rodrigo Roa Duterte, A president known for his senseless killings in "the war on drugs"
She wants to instate mandatory military service
If he wins it will most likely cause a domino effect of american and european brands to pull out of the country since the Marcoses are banned there
I will lose literally every social i have (including tumblr)
Ferdinand Marcos Sr also had ties to Marxists and his wife Imelda Marcos was so ambitious as to want her daughter to marry THE PRINCE OF WALES
She was a social climber that used the country's citizens and resources as her playthings leaving death, destruction and crime in her wake.
Her ambition to be a royal rivaled that of Marie antoinette from her lavish spendings of the country's funds and her ignorance of social and political issues
Fuck they even have a world record

On July 1st, VP Leni and her camp will be launching the Angat Buhay program as a non-governmental organization! 😭💗
Grabe. Salamat sa pag-asa, VP at sa lahat ng Kakampinks na tumindig.
We may have lost the election but that doesn't mean we will stop fighting for the future that we truly deserve.

THE PINK MOVEMENT
Tumblr media
                                   (artwork by Tarantadong Kalbo)
Kamusta? Been a while! I know that the 2022 election is over and this might be late but I just gathered all my energy to post this long planned post that I kept on postponing because either I do not have the enough time or I am still trying to find the right words to use.
To share, it took me more than 2 weeks to come up on how to go about this post. I have to make myself embrace the mixed emotions of anger, disappointment, tiredness, denial, understanding and so on, so I can come up with a better headspace.
Despite having a week after the election, I am still trying to figure out what to feel, what to say or heck, even on what stage of grief I am now. But before I discussed my “post-election” emotion, allow me to take you to the start. On how this People’s campaign or Pink journey started. Or at least, my journey on being a proud Kakampink
If you happen to know me or you’re one of my social media ‘friend’, you know for sure that I am a critic. I voiced out the wrongdoings of the government and call them our for their injustice. I feel like being silent is a guilt and I do not differ to those who's taking advantage.
I remember getting a question from one clever friend who I will vote if in case. I said I don't know yet. As there is no official candidates yet, I said I don't know. Then she mentioned the daughter of the current President we have. She bring up Leni too. She said she heard news about her but VP Leni doesn't have an impact for her. In my mind, "Ghad- Not another Du🐢".
Throwback to 2021, I’ve been researching, silently reading the possible Presidential runners for the upcoming 2022 election. I realized we're all ignoring VP Leni Robredo. It is no secret for me how she managed her job so well despite short to no budget at all. How she act quickly during pandemic. I can go on for hours on the achievement and actions she and her team have done. So, when she declared her decision to run, I am one of who's celebrating. I remember putting a plain pink photo on my IG stories. Letting everyone who can see who I will vote for.
I may need to post another story on what she have done or what is Angat Buhay program because that’s a whole long topic. But if you are one of us, you know. Among all the final candidates, she is the most deserving.
Fast forward to 2022. What I thought of the few, is actually a millions. This even brought me, my sisters and our cousins closer too! To be a part and be involved on the rallies, the house to house campaign, the solidarity walk, the miting de avance - is something that is embedded to my heart forever. The glimpse of hope that is getting bigger and louder as May 9 is getting closer. To see the what they called modern bayanihan, to witness the generosity of every stranger, them lending a hand, the genuine smiles, the different faces of hope, chanting, feeling empowered because finally, and hopefully, there’s a change. I will forever be proud. Habang buhay!  ♡
(Next few post is about the different event I attended. This letter is a reminder that for some time, may kasama akong 14 million na lumaban para sa’yo, Inang Bayan.)

Why I will not regret voting for Vice President Leni Robredo... / Bakit hindi ko pagsisisihan ang boto ko para kay Bise Presidente Leni Robredo
Just a little thought dump I thought I’d share since the 2022 National Elections are nearing
Date Written: May 05, 2022 Word Count: 469 (English), 405 (Filipino) Language/s: English, Filipino (Tagalog)
English
There are numerous answers and explanations to the question, “Why Leni Robredo?” that are undoubtedly excellent. For not only are said answers rooted from hard stone facts, but they are also rooted from strong emotions and personal stories of the voters. I can list down so many answers and so many reasons, but today I’d rather share with you why I will not regret voting for Leni Robredo.
Should Vice President Robredo finish first in the race, her track record will prove that she will do her best to maximize the power and position given to her. “But what if she makes a mistake later? You won’t regret voting for her then?” one may ask. To quickly and confidently answer, “No.” I will stand by my belief that Robredo will deliver excellency as the president of our young nation. Could I be disappointed in her possible incorrect choices? Yes, and I might even share my criticisms.
Robredo is far from becoming the most perfect president; in fact, all of the candidates and past president are. No one will ever be perfect as it is humanely impossible. Though at the end of the day, even if Leni Robredo might be at fault for an underlying issue or mistake, there is an assurance that those who will criticize her won’t be silenced or shunned to the side. Instead, critiques will be listened to. The voices of many will be welcomed and this is already being manifested through how her campaign is accepting the voices of various sectors in our country.
Whether the outcomes on Monday are favorable or not, I don’t have any doubts that I will sleep soundly at night for the next six years. If the worst-case scenario happens (and God-forbid it does), the majority of the nation will fall into the same cycle of regret and turn Leni Robredo into the one that got away. I don’t want to say “I told you so.” However, knowing that I voted for someone who is not a “lesser evil”, “a political puppet”, or someone who will choose to exploit the nation is something I will be proud of and take pride in. I don’t have to think about how my vote made my country plummet deeper. My heart, mind and conscience will forever remain light and clear.
I don’t do regrets. I try to make sure that my choices don’t lead to regrets. To put it simply, I am incredibly choosy. But because of my choosiness, I know that I’ll end up being happy in the long-run. It’s not to say that there won’t be immediate regrets made, but for a lifetime, happy to say that I regret nothing. And that’s what a vote for Vice President Leni Robredo is—a vote you won’t regret your lifetime.

Liwanag sa Dilim (Light in the Dark) - Rivermaya with Yeng Constantino
(Intro) Oh-oh-oh Liwanag sa dilim, liwanag Hey, hey, hey, hey (4x)
(Verse 1) Treat yourself as someone Who parts the clouds Of somber skies A bell that resounds to every living creature Even barren soil will stir and wake You’ll tell them, “You can do this!” Just like an oil lamp in the middle of the storm (Chorus)  Shout it to the sky Arise and serve as the light Light in the dark Bravely face The new song Light Light in the darkness (Verse 2) And as you challenge the course of our history You’ll carve a new path, oh, oh oh You’ll be the one to sing, “You can do this!” A prayer in the middle of turmoil (Repeat chorus 3x) Light in the dark
In honor of the Philippine elections. Praying for peace and justice.

PH ELECTION 2022
this is the only time that i can write. i am a first-time voter and i want to share with you my sentiments.
i already casted my vote at around 1 pm and i did not regret it for i stand for what is right. i stand for someone who has a great credentials and clean track record. i stand for someone who is for the masses, for the filipino ppl, for the marginalized, for the ethnic groups. i stand for a woman with a transparent heart to serve the nation.
i am proud. i will cherish this moment and i will not be ashamed for my vote. i will accept the results no matter what, just as long as the fight is fair and clean.
but what i cannot forgive and accept was the fact that the commission on elections itself is beginning to be untrustworthy. there are thousands of vcm technical faults, ballots are still not yet casted.
partial results were out and it is evident how the opposition is taking the lead with a very wide gap — 10-15 million gaps.
and i am deeply disappointed by my fellow filipinos who chose to be blind, to be consumed by their ego and pride, those ppl who threw away the facts presented to them and ate a platter of disinformation. they chose someone that once brought this country down to the darkest times. they chose someone who doesn't peove himself to be worthy. they chose someone who has graft and plunder case. they chose someone who sang songs.
they chose a tax evader, an action star, ex-convicts, corrupt politicians, in a political dynasty.
i loathe those ppl who made this country a circus. i despise those ppl who cries for help yet elected a corrupt official.
investors are starting to pull back. rumors of red tagging is going around. stocks are plummetting down to hell.
it is so hard to love the philippines when the ppl chose to bring it down. the protestors, the survivors, the heroes of this country must be deeply disappointed.
but the results are still not yet announced. there's still hope. there's still the light.
at the end of the day, the last man standing is a woman.
laban lang, pilipinas!
