Ramsay is quick to fall asleep after sex so after care is often accidentally missed. However as soon as the deed is over, he is pulling you into his arms to cuddle while he snores. If you shake him awake though he will make sure to do whatever it, is you need him to to make you feel better.

Depending on what he’s doing he can last for hours especially if he’s punishing you for teasing him, but it usually lasts all in all a couple hours depending on what he’s up to.

Once upon a time I had a Tales of Symphonia OC called Reimi.

It was the early noughties. I was a teenager obsessed with 2 things - Tales of Symphonia and Full Metal Alchemist. I had seen on my favourite website at the time; DeviantART, that people would sometimes self-insert themselves into their favourite shows/games and even though I'd thought about it before, I loved these two things so much I finally decided to do the same and 'Reimi' was born.

She was my ideal version of how I looked and because I was being bullied almost every day at school, the world of Symphonia in particular was a great comfort to me. Anytime I had a particularly bad day I started to draw Reimi.

I did have one real life friend, my best friend from primary school and we'd chat on the phone every night. I convinced her to play ToS with me and the two of us fell down this rabbit hole and I made her an OC too. We called her Beatrix and she was Reimi's older sister. It was your typical 'human girls fall into fantasy world and crush on their favourite character' story. I liked Lloyd and my friend liked Kratos. We would roleplay them together and write stories for each others birthdays and Christmases. It got me through the horrible things happening at school.

In time we started to make other characters. I decided I wanted Reimi to have a summon spirit - a polar bear called Meikai who could change between human and bear form. My friend had a similar 'devil' summon, Kainashi and I started to draw them as well. (Totally stole this from Sheena but it was very fun)

The final character we designed was Harvey - he was the only one we tried to give a canonical link to Symphonia. He was the Prince of the Tethe'allan royal family and Hilda's brother. The reason you never saw him in the game, we reasoned, was because he didn't want to be a Prince and left to travel the world in secret. He runs into our heroines and becomes a part of the group. I also wanted to write some love triangle stories at that point so he has a crush on Reimi.

For a long time these characters were my whole life. They filled my brain and I would always be thinking of stories for them. The ToS characters always factored into these stories but I was too embarrassed to draw them or have anything romantic happening and that might have been because of the backlash I saw a lot of self-insert authors get. I kept my stories mostly off the internet.

But I kept drawing them as the years went on, even designing bosses and creatures for them to fight, this was one such creature - 'Malcolm' the robot. One of Rodyle's machines.

In time life got in the way. My friend and I didn't get to speak as much so the drawing motivation started to fizzle out.

I still thought and cared about these characters but there was no fresh ideas forming for them. As I got older I started to have less time for them.

This is the last drawing I ever made of them and though you might still see me draw Reimi from time to time, its been years since I drew any of the others.

I did use them for animation practise on my University course though

So that's where we are today. I had a lot of AUs for Reimi. You may have seen this potion shop picture before, it's one of my favourite ideas where Reimi is living in the slums in Meltokio, working to keep her family's store open by selling potions. It even got a Daily Deviation on deviantART! I'm sure most people didn't know it was a self-insert drawing.

Another idea I liked was Reimi being the daughter of Kvar. She's grown up in the human ranches (though largely away from their brutality) and Lloyd's group visit is a wake-up call to her that what her father and Cruxis are doing may be wrong.

I came up with way too many stories to list here.. but uh... maybe I did draw some Reimi/Lloyd art occassionally...

Anyway I just wanted to revisit these characters since I've been doing that with my books this month. Maybe you already knew about this, maybe you didn't!! It's just a fun look into my teenage self. I am trying to draw a new outfit for Reimi now, to see how much I've improved drawing her. I hope I can post it soon.

In your AU you talk about calling Common "Human" instead. Why is that? Also, wouldn't something like Stormwindian or Elwynnian make the most sense considering how other languages like Night Elf are Darnassian?

(Disclaimer: I am not a linguist.)

Short answer: I don’t find the semi-colonial implications of a “common language”/lingua franca in any fantasy setting very fun to think about (at least when they're literally not explored at all). I also feel it cheapens interactions between characters from wildly different places. I understand why a “Common” must exist in video games and RPGs. Your players need to be able to communicate. But in the context of writing and even specific RP scenarios, I think excluding a true lingua franca allows for more creativity in inter-character interactions as they try to navigate that. It also gives more weight to multilingual characters being multilingual.

Long answer:

I simply don’t like the idea of a global lingua franca in fantasy and… in general honestly lol. Again, I understand WHY they need to exist in video games and RPGs like D&D, but I find it much more interesting and realistic to exclude them. And again, this is certainly something more suited for writing than MMOs.

The EXISTENCE of a lingua franca on a global scale — by my non-linguist understanding — relies on some sort of colonial history and/or a global, instant communication system. Azeroth doesn’t have an internet, and I just… don’t like colonialism. Crazy take, I know.

My narratives recognize the Alliance as imperialists unlike Blizzard’s, so it’s not like I took that out of the picture. They are absolutely colonialists lol and that is absolutely something that must be dealt with in my AU. I just didn’t want their influence to be that far-reaching, because honestly, I find that sad and unfun to think about. I do use WoW and this AU for escapism, among other things, so some decisions are motivated in part by that.

SO, I made Common a non-universal language and renamed it to Human to subtly imply that. I went with “Human” because many other languages in similar fantasy settings are named after the races that natively speak them and not the country (see: Dwarvish, Orcish*). It fit in a lot better to just go with that. Worth mentioning though! It does have regional dialects, some of which are so different they could really be considered separate languages. But they all originated from a group of humans, so they’re put under that umbrella. I suppose it’s more like a family of languages in that case then, like I made Zandali…

((*on that note, Orcish also isn’t universally spoken within the Horde.))

So yes, there would be a Stormwindian/Elwynnian dialect and an Alteraci dialect, etc. The Stormwindian dialect is probably most common because of the existence of the Alliance and of Stormwind’s place as a major trade city. Many dwarves in Ironforge speak that dialect, but inversely, many Stormwindians also speak Dwarvish (which also has its own dialects. All the languages in my AU have dialects to some extent). Or at the very least they’ll use Dwarvish words and expressions even while speaking Human. Like I’m doing right now with Italian (“lingua franca”).

There are mages who make livings off knowing translation spells (and even those can only translate literally). Travelers and traders are by necessity going to know the trade languages, Stormwindian Human being one of them (if we’re talking about the Alliance). But the average, non-human person very well might not.

I’ll end that whole ramble with a specific example of an OC story that couldn’t have worked if I went with Common as a true lingua franca: Cathala was stranded on Pandaria for about fifty years pre-MoP, and she had to learn Pandaren to get by. Eventually she all but forgot how to speak Darnassian. It’s a major point in her story when she meets Tarinne and Tarinne helps her relearn Darnassian. If I went by the game’s logic, there would’ve been almost no need for Cathala to learn Pandaren, and no need for her to relearn Darnassian. Which just feels so flat to me, and would take away a huge part of the foundation of hers and Tarinne’s relationship. Additionally, Cathala’s character heavily focuses on finding identity, and that whole history with language is a large part of it.

So TL;DR I renamed Common to Human as part of reducing its presence as a global lingua franca, which is key to the stories I want to tell.

Have you read 'A Declaration for the Rights of Magicians' by H.G. Parry and if so what are your thoughts on Necromancer Robespierre I am so very curious

Brief book thoughts: this book has like nine different types of magic (already exhausting, imo) and like many others of its breed, seems to have an allergic reaction to actually allowing that magic to have impacted the canon outcome of history in any way; one imagines that revolutionary France might not have struggled militarily against the rest of Europe if they'd had magic to draw on, or that the centuries-long possession of magic might have helped the Bourbons turn things around financially at several key points.

How in the world did like, France keep getting punched in the teeth with the English longbow during the Hundred Years War when they had access to weather magic? For that matter, how did the English Civil War ever get off the ground if their ruling class had magic? Was Oliver Cromwell a muggle or whatever? Why didn't the magical Bourbons just slide in on their heelies and help restore Bonny Charlie, who took shelter with them for years? What is going on here!!

But once you push that aside, I still find fantasy AUs like this pretty of juvenile. You take "magicians are oppressed" and lay that on top of the actual real world causes of the French Revolution, but the genre concept doesn't shed any light on what happened historically. It doesn't invite the reader to perceive events in a new way, or understand them with a deeper, if fantastical, nuance. It's often reductive when it comes to characters' motivations, and the narrative suffers for it.

Also, briefly, speaking of reductive: perhaps we should not say that the Haitian Revolution only took place after the slaves stopped being effected by magic "removes your willpower" potions. Indeed, perhaps we should not say that slavery takes place because of "removes your willpower" potions at all. Perhaps Haiti deserves better in the context of the larger French revolution and anti-colonial struggle. And perhaps, instead of having our narrators be Pitt the Younger, Robespierre, and a fictional enslaved woman, the author could have deigned to have Toussaint Louverture or Dutty Boukman in there. You know, so as not to reinforce the pernicious lie that Haiti did not have revolutionaries as named and brave and fucking noble as anyone in Paris.

However, you came here for my take on the book's take on Robespierre, and I bet by this point you can guess how that may go! The author certainly approaches him as a fully formed and sympathetic human being, the bare minimum of character writing, but not always what he gets, so points for that. But once we step outside of "once there was a man who had a beating heart just like the rest of humankind", we're in choppier waters.

In this book, Robespierre is a necromancer (a weirdly arbitrary choice), and a mesmerist, with the idea being that the latter accounts for the hold he had over the Convention and the people. Here we have man who is a poor public speaker, physically unremarkable, and something of a moral martinet. He doesn't have the charisma of some of his other colleagues, or their facility for making friends, or their intuitive political pragmatism. Give him magic, and he can mesmerize people into listening. Or leave him be, and explore how a man with all those qualities managed to stand at the head of a revolution, with people hanging on his every word. So, writer, who is a more interesting character? Who gives you more to sink your teeth into, even in a fantasy setting?

When the introduction of magic makes your characters worse, you've got a problem.

Also just going out on a limb here and saying that if Robespierre was a capable mesmerist, he probably wouldn't have gotten his shit wrecked on 9 Thermidor, one of history's most notable examples of losing control of a room.

OCs: The House at the Hellmouth

sorry i haven’t posted in a hot second i was thinking too hard abt oc-ifying my deemis humanization designs bc i love drawing their faces and shapes and i wanna keep them. so here’s The House At The Hellmouth, or hellmouth for short. it’s a low-stakes urban fantasy about these guys and their sometimes-magical issues.

for various reasons, three dudes who barely know each other have ended up living together in an extremely haunted house whose basement contains The Hellmouth™, a portal to a dangerous part of the magical world that must be watched over lest shit leak into the mundane world. most of the story is about them learning to live with each other and themselves as they slowly get more embroiled in the mysteries of the house and each other’s backstories.

it’s still very obviously inspired by deemis but hopefully it will grow into its own thing as i develop it. i put it in a more grounded genre even tho i love the weirdness and abstraction of deemis for that reason. it does use several ideas from my normal au but not as many as you’d expect? it’s way way more fantasy.

also i unbritished them. first of all to distance it more and second because it’s easier to write urban fantasy in a place you’re familiar with. the hellmouth is in Kansas because why wouldn’t it be.

so given that + the magic portal world in this universe + the focus on Home, they’ve got an Oz Motif going on. which is appropriate given that deemis is very Alice-like. kids’ isekais from diff countries.

anyway here’s the guys. average monster of the week party.

orange: Clove Spindlebinder. the not-so-brainless “scarecrow”. scatterbrained but talented and creative. an embarrassment to his powerful wizard parents. sent to the hellmouth house from the magic world to toughen him up. would really prefer to do sewing magic but his enchanted thread has many useful applications in dealing with creatures. his parents are Rosemary Spindlebinder and Thyme Wyrdrender, two powerful members of the wizard council who are extremely divorced. the only thing they agree on is that they are disappointed in him. rosemary has custody, so he only counts as part of her family.

dark blue: Lucas Taylor. the not-so-spineless “lion”. quiet and awkward but resourceful and stubborn in the face of weird shit. literally just some guy aggressively concealing his ability to see magical stuff because he doesn’t want to be called a freak. answered clove’s Help Wanted ad intended only for magical people. stays even after he sees the hellmouth bc he doesn’t have to pay rent as long as he helps with the horrors. has a bad relationship with his family and especially his twin brother, Linden, who tried to distance himself from him as much as possible when they were kids.

teal: Ambrose Sherman. the not-so-heartless “tin man”. persnickety and mischievous but extremely lonely and motivated above all by care for his loved ones. an unaging undead who took the fall for his resurrector’s crimes to protect him. condemned by the wizard council to guard the hellmouth as punishment and has been here for a few decades. cannot go far from the house. his resurrector is Peregrine, who is maybe some kind of lich who dabbles in forbidden magic? idk but he’s bad news. unfortunately ambrose is very in love with him.

also the house itself is a character. it has something of a personality (not necessarily malevolent, sometimes friendly, often capricious) and its internal dimensions shift. sometimes it simply grows new rooms. the mystery behind the house and why the hellmouth even exists is Part Of This Story but damn if i know how i’m gonna have that shake out yet. i do have ideas for arcs but i don’t wanna write it all out here so that’s all for now.

ahhh haha... fuck. idk i want to say none. but my brain keeps whispering about the dreamling road trip au. i thought i had a plot but as i continue working on bitb and other little drabbles... ive realized i might've bitten off more than i can chew. and my only option is to completely sideline it until im done with bitb, or change the story (because right now the research i have to do for it is too much and y'all know how i am...) it sucks cos i do want to write it. but it's difficult when all my patience for research is already going into one fic (bitb).

dialogue and monologuing, probably.

self 👏 motivation 👏 finding 👏 the 👏 urge 👏 to 👏 write (technically, it's tense. i flip between past and present tense constantly and at this point i just consider it one of my endearing qualities pfft)

i try to avoid it but when it happens i just use Google Translate and then toss a disclaimer that ive done my best (to which usually a commenter will helpfully correct me and then all is well)

Inuyashaaaaa (Miroku/Sango omg). exchanging physical notebooks with my friends with fanfics we'd written in school lol

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

truly a tie between Savory & Sweet and Let Me Down Easy (at the moment). the restaurant au was so easy and fun to write (probably because i used to be in the industry) and i reread it a lot. the pacing is fast and i love how immediate Hob and Dream fall into each other haha. Let Me Down Easy was very similar. my major was Media Production in undergrad and although it's been a while since i've held a camera, it was fun putting myself back in that environment. also the angst and tension were just a blast to write and figure out.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

4 - I actually only started publishing fics a little over a year ago and my main project has been a still-running longfic so I haven't been able to build up much of an archive thus far LOL.

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

408,653. The longfic is a fucking TOME.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

At the moment, just Hellsing. I do intend to publish some Castlevania fanfiction soon, and I've got a couple of larger OC fics planned for Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Guess I'm listing all my fics in order with an empty bottom slot, oopsie!

formulas fatal to the flesh - Alucard (Hellsing)/Transfemme Jewish Reader fic that also serves as the "pilot" for my OC longfic. I originally started writing this as a means of exploring my sexuality in the wake of HRT changing a lot of things about my desires whilst also issuing a love letter to my favorite series. Then everything got intense.

2. Interview With the Impaler - Alucard (Hellsing)/Transfemme Reader. This was me trying out some new ideas with how I write Alucard as well as just trying to contribute to the transfemme reader insert pool. It's really nice when you don't have to mentally change the genitals of the reader insert you're reading about to put yourself in their shoes and enjoy the fantasy, so I like providing more of it.

3. lesions of a different kind - Alucard Hellsing/Transfemme Jewish OC. My longfic, my baby, my first foray into long-form storytelling. She's choppy, she's unhinged, she's full of bigger ideas than I know what to do with, but damn it all, I'm having fun with her. This is the main story of Zemira Shani Makhabi, my homebrewed blorbo and shameless self-critique. She started out as a reader insert before I decided to turn her into a golem allegory full of meta commentary on what it means to relate to a fictional character. That, and so much BDSM shit like oh man so FUCKING much.

4. Operation: GREENHOUSE - Pip Bernadotte (Hellsing)/Zemira Shani Makhabi. In dead last, a fic involving a character who is unfortunately not very popular to write about, but I happen to find incredibly hot in his own right. Technically AU of an AU fic too? IDK man I just wanted to write steamy smut about these two because I thought their dynamic was fun bwahahaha

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Absolutely I do! They really motivate me to continue and I love connecting with people based on how they perceive my work.

MWEHEHEHEHE that'd be Interview With the Impaler. I used the Mean Alucard tag for a reason. I may continue this story yet tbh, because I could make it ever angstier.

Operation: GREENHOUSE. Just ends with those two snuggling and teasing each other. Easy shit.

I'm extremely lucky to have never gotten a mean comment and hope it never happens.

LITERALLY EVERYTHING I WRITE IS SMUT BWAHAHAHAHA I lean heavy on a few tropes - maledom/femsub shit, mind break/hypnosis/heat/etc, and a constant obsession with men's hands. Hands in general, tbh, I get really horny about hands.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I've never published a crossover but I like the idea of one. I would need to find two series which I REALLY wanted to compare and contrast.

I don't have any right now but I live in constant fear I'll wake up one day without the drive to finish Lesions. That would make me so sad.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I can write really visceral gore and snappy action scenes, I can construct a layered character like a motherfucker, and I'm pretty damn good at dialogue, I think.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

OOF. Plot. Fucking PACING. I feel like my stories can sometimes feel like super compelling personalities flopping about in a sandbox. Which can work, for some cases, but I try to deliver on the promise of a compelling plot.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

It really depends. I've seen writers do it with tags for the translated words? It seems to work best for small, potent exchanges.

I think this honor actually goes to Pokemon. I was doing a Nuzlocke comic once upon a time!

As promised, this year I'll host it again: September is around the corner, and with it smutember, or at least the Sailor Moon fandom corner side of it, that is, if you're on-board here lol. It's open for all types of fanwork, and all ships within the fandom.

Just like the previous years, it runs alongside to the official daily word prompts on the official smutember blog: Smutember is an event that runs all throughout September for all fandoms. The following is meant as an addition, not a replacement. If you want to do daily prompts, please use the official word prompts (linked above). And while these prompts are amazing, for older fandoms such as ours, daily prompts can sometimes be a little intimidating. Because of this, and in now Sailor Moon fandom smutember tradition, I again customized an alternative weekly trope list that can still incorporate the official themes.

As always now, down below you have a list of TROPE AND THEME PROMPTS. This year, since it's our anniversary year in the Sailor Moon fandom, I've added a few of the classic tropes, as well as a remix of some you've seen in the previous years. Because they're meant to spark a variety of ideas, there's a lot of them! You can pick as many of the tropes you want and with them, post once (or if you're motivated, more times) per week, instead of daily.

Be it for fanart or fanfic or any other sort of fanwork, tropes can be combined, (and they can be combined with the daily themes too), whatever floats your boat. Also, specifically: This event isn’t Usamamo-centric only. I will reblog any Sailor Moon content of any pairing as long as it follows the rules! (See below)

The aim of this event is to create sex-positive content together that celebrates a healthy depiction of consentual sexuality. Erotic fanfiction is a beautiful art, especially in a fandom of ours so largely cultivated by women and for women, as well as a strong inclusive focus on queer and gender-queer content and their creators!

And like in 2020 previously, all entries that follow the rules will be compiled in an online-only e-zine! This also means that art that may be too explicit for tumblr can still be included in the e-zine!

RULES

1. Rating: These fics don’t necessarily need to be M or, in the case of Ao3, E- rated. Obviously, they are very, very welcome to be explicit for this event, but you can also go T-rated and stay in lime or ‘blacked out’-territory if you’re uncomfortable with writing explicit scenes! Both is perfectly and absolutely welcome! This of course also goes for fanart - your fanart may depict sexy scenes, but does NOT have to be explicit! (It can, though! Be aware that for tumblr’s guidelines, when sharing your art first, you may have to clip your images as a sort of preview. The original can then be sent to me privately to include into the e-zine!) 2. Minimum Age of Characters: Since this is a community event, if you do go explicit M rated material: age them up where necessary! So that everyone can be comfortable writing and reading these, let them be 18 at the minimum if they’re going to openly and explicitly wohoo. (16-17 is the global average age of consent worldwide, and also the average age for first sex among girls in many western countries. However, since most fanfic readers are located in the US, where the age of consent is 18, we’re going with 18 so that everyone can be comfortable reading!) If you go for canon fics at a time they are below this age, where you do not want to age up (say you’re going for an episode fix!) please stay in T territory for this event. 3. Off limits: Depictions of sexual acts that contain harmful, violent and non-consenting behaviour with non-consenting individuals (or those that aren’t able to consent, for instance because of their age, or state of mind among else!). If it doesn’t fly by law or the ICD in real life, please refrain from depicting it in the context of this event. This means that dubcon and noncon will not be reblogged for the event, so that people can be safely consuming the content without being triggered. All content will be screened in this regard, and I may contact you regarding trigger warnings. This is not at all to censor content, or that this content is in any form less valid (as long as it is properly tagged and not including characters that aren’t of age), but simply to ensure a safe environment for everyone reading. 4. Tag your triggers. Except the aforementioned limitation of harmful content, nothing is off limits. Explore your kinks! But if you write something that might be offensive to your readers, please tag it. This is ALSO a good way for your readers to find exactly what they ARE looking for! On Ao3 this can be done directly on the fic tags, for FF fics and fic links you can do it here on Tumblr via the fic post tags or in ANs. This is in consideration of your readers. 5. You can obviously post art for this event too. All previous rules apply here, as well. Unfortunately, Tumblr is now against tasteful nudity. That doesn’t mean you can’t link to a deviant art or similar account though, should you want to. And, since this year will include an e-zine at the end of it, all art will still be included fully in it. Here too, please tag your triggers. If you still want to post art on Tumblr, choose a T rated image - clip them where needed, or keep them (semi-)clothed, show us a heated kiss, etc! (Obviously we would love ALL the art and the nude body is a beautiful, wonderful thing, but obviously Tumblr doesn’t agree with us anymore!) 6. Have fun! Celebrate sexuality in an open, sex-positive way with us, try to be unapologetic about your likes while you write this, and appreciate the beauty that comes in the form of content with a largely female-gazing creator-base and audience! Smut in fanfiction has been beautifully put as the subjectification of sexuality (as opposed to  objectification). So let’s celebrate this art form together! 7. Reviews: No one is forced to review. It can be uncomfortable to review a fic that contains sexual acts for any number of always valid reasons. Keep in mind, however, that much like a Burlesque dancer on stage, putting out sexual content can also be very intimidating to an author, and nothing is more discouraging than silence when baring yourself to an audience like this. That being said: Both Ao3 and FF have the option to review in anon mode. That means you have the option to remain anonymous while cheering the author on all the same. Just like the Burlesque dancer, your resident smut authors prefer to go on stage to loud cheering - it makes it all less awkward for them, and feels a little more like a big celebration!

This event is not supposed to cause harm. This means that I will screen all content before I reblog it here, and include it in the e-zine. So that everyone of age can feel safe reading the fanworks in the event, dubcon and noncon will not be reblogged and included in the e-zine, and accurate tagging and content warning will be watched. This does NOT MEAN that you cannot post this material: your own desire to write it and someone else’s desire to explicitly read this material are valid. I do not entitle myself to censor. Legendborn AU Discussion

Look, I love interstitial scenes, character studies, POV switches, and fix-it’s as much as the next girl. I just wanna see how my favs interact with each other in not life threatening circumstances—or at least a different flavor of them! I was thinking of common AUs I like to read and considered how they may work for this body of work.

• !College is the obvious one but I feel it needs to be handled very well or would end up too mundane or out of character. I think it’s strength would come from character interactions we don’t usually get to see in Canon. !Roomates too, to a lesser extent.

Edit: oh my god they can be the professors??? How am I a graduate student and didn’t think of this?? Professors Matthews and Kane are you KIDDING ME—

• !Mafia I think can translate well from canon themes of Bloodlines, bodyguards, oaths, secret organizations running society, loyalty, stuff like that. Maybe even more morally questionable since targets and victims aren’t demons and super powered Scions, but people.

• !Demigods I think hits similar notes—could open up interesting conversations on the Celtic pantheon and mythology. Also because I need my favs to meet my other favs 🔱

• !Historic is an intriguing minefield. Intriguing for what Canon has set up—not that much of a jump to make it straight up !Royalty is a slow pitch what with the whole King Arthur magic system and all. I think it’s a potential minefield for off color implications for the demographic of readers her deprioritize Bree as the main character of the narrative for the sake of romance “!Antebellum Southern belle Bree being courted by TWO gentlemen—“ Nope nope nope NOPE 😀 (…though I’d be lying if I said didn’t rewatch Season 2 of Bridgerton and didn’t get some Ideas™️ though…maybe a minefield can be goldmine at the same time)

• I’d be interested to see how !Pirates or !Western could be innovative. A lot of Legendborn deals with bonds and duty and titles. Both settings would need to take character motivations in a new direction and I for one would find that refreshing.

• Speaking of slow pitches… !Fantasy just does it for me in AUs…even in a world of magic i just KNOW these characters would still be so fun to follow! Expansion of magic systems and aesthetics past what we see in BM would be fascinating. Maybe a LoTR or OUaT vibe if you’re into either. I’m a D&D girlie myself 🧚🏾

• To no one’s surprise and with absolutely no explanation needed: !ABOdynamics and !Kink. (with a time-skip/everyone aged up, particularly for the latter) The girls who get it, get it and the girls who don’t, don’t. 💅🏾

• Actually yeah no I can really see how !Hunger Games would play out. I think a lot from Canon could stay mostly the same and it still works. To a lesser extent, general !Dystopia.

• Now, !Apocalypse…could be a wild ride. Haven’t read many myself to know the story beats associated. But I can see the cast stopping an apocalypse as easily as I can see them accidentally starting one!

• Because I have to give homage to my weeb roots: Both !JJK and !Demon Slayer make sense to me for Legendborn AUs. I’m too sqeamish to speak for !AOT but I think that would work too.

I’d love to hear y’all’s thoughts on other AUs, or if you (dis)agree with my thoughts! I love it when World is rich and immersive enough that you can reasonably extrapolate how characters and situations would translate in different scenarios, uhg chef’s kiss!👩🏾‍🍳💋

Music Star Luz AU

Luz Noceda has always loved music. It was her favorite thing besides fantasy stories. She and her father would often play together and make up funny and sweet songs.

After Manny’s death, money was a bit tight despite Camila’s best efforts to shield her daughter from the severity of it. Determined to help her mother, Luz summited a song she wrote to a music competition in hopes of winning some prize money. Luz’s song not only won first place, but also shoot her into the path of fame. Despite her worry about her daughter being pushed into fame so young, Camila encouraged Luz to share her talent with the world. 

Luz was at first thrilled about being a famous music star, but then the pressures of fame began to bear down on her. The thing that bothered Luz the most was how lonely she felt because most people her age were her fans rather than friends, or just wanted to befriend her for her fame. By the time she turned 14, Luz was feeling burnout from the fame and had even began to loose her passion for music. So, Camila decides to sent Luz to a house/villa owned as a way for Luz to relax, and maybe find inspiration for her next album.

Of course, we all know that Luz ends up following a certain owl into a new world. Luz decides to stay in the Demon Realm to get song inspiration from this new world - and yes, because she also wants to be a witch.

Because this Luz is a musician, there will be a focus on Bard Magic, and I want Luz to be able to use it in some way. The idea is that she either finds a Bard Magic Glyph that she carves into her instruments to channel the magic; or, make it so that some Bard Magic can be used without the need to a bile sac. Like, some spells do require the use the the witch’s internal magic, but bards can also manipulate the external/ambient magic through their music.

Due to the focus on Bard Magic, Raine Whispers would appear earlier and have a more significant role. They first appear in Covention because Luz was interested in the Bard Coven booth. Luz uses Bard Magic during her duel with Amity and when Lilith accuses her and Eda of cheating, Raine would defend them. Raine’s earlier appearance would lead to things like Bard Magic Mentor Raine, Older Sibling BATTs, and maybe Raeda Romance Rekindled.

Vee obviously takes Luz place in this AU, but she has a few problems because unlike Luz, Vee doesn’t know how to play music instruments or even sing. Fortunately, Vee quickly learns how to play the guitar by watching video tutorials - I headcanon that Basilisks are naturally good at learning by imitation. Also, she meets and befriends Marsha (and the other two), who is helps her compose songs. So, “Luz” next album is a collab between Vee and Marsha.

Some notes:

Luz main instrument is the acoustic guitar, but she also knows how to play several other instruments like electric guitar, piano, trumpet, drums, violin, clarinet, and a few others.

Luz’s guitar was a gift from her father and her favorite instrument. She has it with her when she follows Owlbert through the portal.

Most of Luz’s music is from the rock genre, but she sometimes plays other genres of music when necessary.

Luz still loves The Good Witch Azura and fantasy in general, so many of the songs she has written have fantasy-inspired themes. I had this idea that some of her songs have been used in the Azura movies.

Before her father passed away, Luz had been working on a song for him, but he died before she could finish it. It has been sitting incomplete for years, but maybe Luz would find the motivation to finish it during her stay in the Boiling isles.

Luz’s friends eventually learn to play music/cast bard magic, and I have this image of the Hexsquad playing together to literally defeat a foe with the power of music.

Hi po I'm back again 🤸‍♀️ A lot has happened for the past few days and I'm kind of in the middle of healing my finger because I got into an accident but so far everything's ok 🤟

I'm gonna start writing now but I dont know where to start I have alot of ideas and it's kind of overwhelming me, also I want to get the checklist of my Fic ideas done before school starts

There are still fnaf related, but I thought of writing for welcome home since I think I got the grasp of being able to write them in character,

And I've also been thinking of rewriting my au series like royal and fantasy au, those aus are too good to get discontinued,,

Blehh I shouldn't focus on those rn,, I'm gonna do the check list thing first

I have other Fic ideas that I want to do,,, liek this au where the fire ending happens and Reader ssved all of them,, but when they fell asleep they woke up to all the Animatronics turning into human,, I like this funny au but I dont know about what yall would think

Personally I don’t think immortality was actually the goal: it’s such a random, non-emotionally-charged answer that from a Doylist perspective it would be a hugely unsatisfying payoff to a mystery that the cc!s have kept going for over two years at this point, and from a Watsonian perspective why would Dream be honest about his intentions? I don’t know what he was trying to do, but I’d bet money that it wasn’t that — or at least, not COMPLETELY that.

Anyway, yeah Dream and Punz are probably getting interrogated because some members of the server are convinced that Tommy’s sudden turnaround is the result of some sort of brainwashing or w/e. Those that have gone after him have a surprising variety of perspectives on this. Quackity, for example, is actually completely on Tommy’s side — and Sapnap is absolutely not. So Quackity basically went along to secretly try and mend the bridge he burned down a little bit, and Sapnap is there to force a confession. Unintentional Good Cop / Bad Cop style. (Also that idea about Punz expecting gentle tickles and then getting absolutely destroyed is hysterical. Canon.)

But then Sapnap switches his target.

Quackity was shockingly nice, but Sapnap wants answers. He kneads into his sides, drills into his armpits, scratches a pen into the soles of his feet — it’s horrible. Dream can’t stand this for long. And then Sapnap calls over the others to help, and suddenly Dream is having all of his worst spots targeted at once until he’s sobbing into the floor. (Quackity forces them off after a bit, saying that they’re not gonna get anything out of him if they kill him first.)

Later, when it devolved from an interrogation to a competition of “how can we make Dream lose his shit the fastest”, Punz ends up being even worse than Sapnap. This is probably because the turning point of this whole situation had something to do with everyone realizing at once just how self-destructive Dream actually is and deciding that he needs some punishment tickles for all the bullshit he pulled in the past few years.

yes what you’ve pointed out is interesting. i think that the realisation that the server could potentially have immortal beings on it now was definitely something that sparked punz and dream to work together so much. i’m pretty sure it’s canon that part of the reason that cdream built the prison was just in case someone immortal ‘got in his way’ and he needed to contain them (interestingly he never explicitly explained what they could be getting in the way of 👀)

i think that you’re right about immortality not being the end goal,, but certainly understanding everything there is to know about it would have been close. i think that what could have happened is that they started off by wanting to understand it,, but then realised that there were so many other layers beyond immortality itself (they mentioned that they had seen different realms).

i’m actually rather unfamiliar with what cpunz’ motives were? did he ever explain them deeper than ‘wanting to be powerful’? i got the impression that he wanted to learn about the revival stuff for more selfish reasons,, whereas dream had a more fluffy fantasy of having him and his friends live together kind of thing. it’s why i felt he was so silent when punz pointed out to tommy that him and dream were friends — coz i think he knew deep down that punz and him wanted the same thing, but for different reasons. (i could be completely wrong about all of this lmao,, my cpunz obsession isn’t quite as strong as my cdream obsession)

would quackity and sap have spoken before this moment? i feel like sap would take on the bad cop role for such sweet reasons. like he’s heard all this stuff from tommy and he’s not only scared that his country and his fiancé’s are going to be caught in the crossfire. but he’s also angry at dream suddenly trying to be open and friendly again,, and ever more angry that he confessed it to tommy of all people. why couldn’t he have told him while he visited him in prison?!

i always love having sap be the one to interrogate dream and punz coz i can just imagine that he’d know them so well. like early days sap and punz were playful and brotherly, and it’s fun to imagine tickles coming into play during sap and dream sparring sessions. basically he’d just know all the spots and techniques to get them howling. and they’re both still tied up to a tree with nowhere to go

i’m still stuck thinking about quackity giving dresm soft neck nibbles 🥺 and i kinda love the idea that after being absolutely wrecked by sapnap,, the comparatively softer techniques from quackity are what begin to fluster him. though not entirely coz i imagine he’d still be inconsolably pissed at quackity for what he did to dream in prison

also AHHH!!! so it turns into the “the tickles didn’t make him speak but he looked like he could use them anyway” kinda of situation :(( where punz actually starts to help give dream tickles. i adore the idea of punz cradling dreams head in his lap and sternly promising that he’s not going to let them hurt him. that’s so cute ☹️

Yeah unfortunately all the stuff on there is absolutely not my thing and doesn't hit on the same notes that I think make any interaction between them interesting. Really going to have to write stuff myself, or encourage you all to. (Uhh, for other readers, if you do go look up the fics, two of three have very triggering tags so please don't even search it up unless you can handle exposure to something like that.)

I'm usually not a huge fan of age gaps bigger than ten years, but idk, it's like AFO is immortal and there's absolutely no ship, not even with Ujiko, that doesn't have that enormous age and power gap. I just like the idea of Keigo managing to get the upperhand despite all that and outwitting him.

Like the appeal is a game of wits despite the clear physical power imbalance, at least it is for me, and the many similarities in how they work, even if there are core differences in motivations and how they view themselves.

AU works really well. Guh, a few years ago I was in a RP group where I played dhampir monster hunter!hawks and there was vampire coven leader!AFO (who he was there to kill by infiltrating local monster support group led by AFO's protege, a werewolf with fae blood named Tomura). And it was really fun throwing my keigo against my friend's AFO which is where we kind of discovered that they work similarly. A lot of this is making me really sad we never had Hawks really interact with Tomura in the manga because it would have been fantastic to have him involved with Shigaraki and AFO somehow. Really tempted to kind of go screw it and write some one-shot incorporating more Vampire the Masquerade kind of lore (fight me but Tomie is a Malkavian) and just do a Coven!Leader AFO x the dhampir (not a VTM thing but also Hawks doesn't strike me as thin-blooded) assassin sent to kill him.

✨What's a fic you've posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (or simply a fic you wish got more credit)

No Price Too Great; No Distance Too Far the rarepair raven cycle medieval au I wrote for a bigbang (my first and last)! Its 40k, all the things I like to write, with a bunch of flowery metaphors and 97% just yearning okay. It was a lot of work, a lot of love, but unfortunately seems to be too self-indulgent to be a fandom hit.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

The Coral Isle Alliance, the teen wolf Scott/Danny fantasy kingdom au. I struggled with it because originally I wanted it to be 8 chapters, and a sweeping epic of found family, slow burn, and dreamy aesthetics. But... It sat in my drafts for over a year and I got overwhelmed when I didn't have all the story figured out. There was definitely a mental block that I think in part was because already I knew deep down it was only for me and very few people were even going to read it.

So I took everything I had already written and crunched it down into a one shot, and tbh that was all it needed to be.

🌻what makes you want to give up on writing? what makes you keep going?

lack of engagement definitely makes my desire to write fic very low, and i've been struggling with that for several years now. I enjoy fic and enjoy rarepairs/tropes that I know I'll have to write myself to have, and there's many fics started on my computer. But engagement has deceased so much across fandom in the last 6-7 years and tbh the effort I know I'll end up putting into it to not really get any feedback? It's bleak man. Makes it harder and harder to justify the time when I have original novels I want to write for publication as well.

But I keep writing, and I keep thinking of new aus and fic I probably will never write because I enjoy the creativity of fandom and I have a lot of feelings about characters I don't know what to do with otherwise. Fandom was pivotal for my adolescence, and definitely shaped the way I engage with art. I want to contribute to it, it's just how I am.

I feel like I'm really honing my ability to weave emotional impact into the narrative! I can't draw the moment of anguish on a characters face, but I'm gonna try to convey it in a paragraph anyway!

Oh. Oh, well, I.. don't, i guess? I suppose posting is the reward, as in, the relief of having finished something (something I struggle with.)

🍭why did you start writing?

I've always had the ideas, even before fanfic. And it was never enough to have them, and think about them, there's always been that desire to write them down, flesh them out, truly play around in them. I've been an avid reader since I learned how, and I guess there was always a part of me that liked it so much I wanted to participate.

Thematically, I think 'dust devils on the horizon' (Joy cowboy au) would translate really well with the right narrator.

Yes it's true, i'm rewriting (for the 4th time) a KH fic I started 13 years ago that I want to actually finish this time. I'm posting chapters as I finish them, instead of waiting for all of it to be finished so I don't lose motivation but boy its hard.

When i write fic, which is rarer these days, its for me, or whatever my friends want to read.
