PAC How Will Your Future Spouse's Mother (Your Mother-In-Law) View You

Your future mother-in-law sees you as a breath of fresh air for their child (your future spouse) and their whole family.

Before your future spouse met you, they may have been going through some toxic cycles, bad habits or some kind of betrayal from someone or people close to them. For some of you your future spouse may have fallen into bad habits of some forms of addiction.

But after meeting you, your future spouse is going to want to change bring in positivty and healthy habits into his life because they don't want to lose you and their mother is going to notice the positive change and be so appreciative of you.

Your future mother-in-law sees you as smart, capable and they think you are really good at your job, hobbies or whatever it is you are good at. They admire how hard you work, and they feel like they won the lottery/ won in life by having you as their child in law (I don't know if that's a real thing so bear with me).

They view you as someone who is responsible and is able to keep a promise and hold accountability for their words and actions. You may even trigger some change in your future spouse's family as a whole because maybe it's the way you carry yourself or your work ethic that will make them go 'Dang we really have to do better; we can't be wasting life like this'.

She'll truly love how you have positively impacted her family.

Also, your mother-in-law said she'll baby you when I was channelling her because she recognizes how hard you work, and she wants to show you that you are appreciated and that it's time to take a rest and let someone else be the one to handle things and take care of you.

First thing I channelled from your future mother-in-law is that she will feel 'iffy' about you. Meaning that she's not sure if she likes you or not. Okay it's more like some things about you may rub your mother-in-law the wrong way like maybe she's more of a traditional housewife and you and your future spouse don't go according to traditional roles of spouses.

For example, if it's more of a straight couple maybe the wife works, and husband is a stay-at-home father.

-Maybe it's a same sex couple and the mother-in-law hasn't come to fully accept it.

-Another is the couple is again a straight couple and the wife refuses to have a child this could rub the mother-in-law the wrong way. There may be a lot of conflict between your future spouse and their mother about you because your mother-in-law would want their child to find someone else because obviously, they aren't so sure about you.

For other people your mother-in-law can try to compete with you for example 'The way I cook chicken is so much better' says your mother-in-law.

(You can take these as it being a sign a that the pile is for you)

But once she gets past those reservations the way she will view you is someone not very stable like you and your future spouse may like to travel a lot and are never in one place for too long and your mother-in-law could be like 'Why can't you just stay in one place it's not that hard'. But also, she sees your creative side, she sees you as a kind, gentle person with so much care within them.

She sees you as someone who has achieved so much that they can't help but praise you. They will also see you as someone very popular maybe you have a lot of followers or just a lot of friends in general.

They see you as the voice of reason, if anything goes wrong you are the best person to ask for advice, you are the best person to mediate an argument, you are the best person to a person, situation or an item fairly without an unbiased opinion (She might drag you shopping a lot and even show you off to her friends), more so because you have an obvious kindness and compassion to you that she can't help but love and admire about you despite her reservations. They will see you as strong, nurturing, courageous and passionate in the way you carry yourself and the way you talk.

They see you as someone who wants to protect their own peace, someone who wants to keep things balanced and harmonious.

A/N: I kinda wanted to write something like this for a while but I never really got around to it so thank you for this request! Link to request is here! Doing this one first because it's head canons and the rest of the requests are fics, so it's easier to do this one first!

Premise: Married & domestic life headcanons + proposal headcanons!

Warnings: None! Pure cavity inducing fluff!

♡ "I think you might like this one!" They could barely contain themself just giving it to you.

♡ You hold the smooth, cold stone in your hands before opening the cracked halves to reveal beautiful, twinkling purple crystals inside.

♡ It was like staring into a little piece of outer space– but then you see it.

♡ Inside the geode was the most gorgeous ring you had ever seen.

♡ You were speechless. A grin widens on your face from ear to ear as your face turns ruby red.

♡ "Oh my God..." We're the first words to leave your mouth.

♡ Randonauting also never died out for them. It's arguably safer than exploring decrepit, dark caves as well. Especially when you have somebody that's used to traversing around randomly.

♡ You both do an equal amount of cooking and cleaning to ensure your living space does not end up a jumbled mess like their workspace is.

♡ Their favorite thing to do with you is... basically everything. As long as it was with you, it was always worth doing in their eyes.

♡ They particularly enjoy cuddling up with you and reading the same book together. If you were tired they'd happily read it to you, instead.

♡ You keep encouraging them to start a reading podcast because you loved listening to them so much. You couldn't imagine other people not enjoying it, too.

♡ Rosetta now has a permanent home as well. You even bought them a tiny pillow to rest on like the royalty they are.

♡ Kisses you good morning and good night every single day. The only time they can't is when they're away, so they always make sure to call you instead.

♡ Their love language is physical touch so they're always clinging on to you regardless of what you're doing.

♡ Folding laundry? Holding you. Washing dishes? Holding you. Laying in bed? Holding you. Talking on the phone? Holding you. Just standing around doing absolutely nothing? Arms are wrapped lovingly around your waist, guaranteed.

♡ Spoils you to no end. Sloan always wants to make sure you feel special every day of your life, so they're always doing their best to make you feel like royalty even on your worst days.

♡ Ultimately they left it up to you. If you wanted children, great! If you didn't, that was alright, too.

♡ If you decided you did want children they would be more than happy to take a couple years (yes, years) off of work to help start a family life with you.

♡ They were more than confident that the Wayfinders Society could handle themselves while they were gone.

♡ Speaking of the Wayfinders– they were more than thrilled to have a mini Venture joining the team! They were the best godparents anyone could ever ask for.

♡ They even had a little jacket prepared for them with the logo on it and everything. You were both absolutely thrilled!

♡ Spoils you to no end while you're going through your pregnancy– if you thought they spoiled you before... oh no. Just you wait and see. You truly have no idea.

♡ Almost literally did not let you lift a finger the entire nine months.

♡ Painted the nursery yellow just like their favorite color and ultimately went with a dinosaur theme– even though that was "paleontology, not archeology. Dinosaurs are still cool, though."

♡ Honestly you thought they were going to be one of those parents who fainted in the delivery room but no, they were really encouraging and comforting the entire time you were in labor.

♡ Couldn't stop crying once the baby was born. Obviously let you hold them first, and then when it was their turn they started crying again.

♡ Really, really, really wanted to name the baby after some important historical figure so you allowed them with the exception that it also sounded somewhat normal for todays society.

♡ If the baby was a boy then they decided on Alexander. If the baby was a girl then they decided on Athena– but ultimately if they decided to change their name later in life they would accept that, too.

♡ You got to decide the middle name, and to go along with their Greek themed first name you chose 'Cyprus' as their middle one. Alexander/Athena Cyprus Cameron.

♡ They were just so happy. You had given them everything they ever wanted and more– there is truly no better gift in life than you and their newborn child were. No treasure in the world was more precious than the two of you.

♡ They were certain of that.

Why I don't use nakshatras in D9 (navamsa)

And why you should not either.

We all know the basic traits of zodiac signs, their archetypes and how symmetrical and cool they look. Nakshatras are constellations(lunar mansions) WITHIN the zodiac signs, actual points/stars in the sky that have mythologies and associations attributed to them, affirmed by the observable patterns of their natives.

D9/navamsa is chart that shows in which division each planet falls in, and those divisions are each sign divided by nine, making each nakshatra consist of 4 those(known as padas).

Now, each pada has a zodiac sign attributed to it. So, planets in in the same nakshatra but in different padas have different(minor, but still different) effects. For example, my venus is in Gemini(punarvasu) in the Gemini pada, making it vargottama(same sign and pada), thus strengthening it.

So, the placements of the planets in signs of D9 aren't their placements in the actual conatellations in which they sit, and in no way hold the same weight. Nakshatras are already divions within signs, which are larger than padas. There are no nakshatras in D9 because you cannot pretend that 4 degrees(approx.) Are 30 and divide the divisions further 😭

Obviously, I have not said that padas/D9 have no effect, they do, but signs in D9 are not the same as signs in D1. Signs in D9 are more hypothetical and cannot be interpreted the same way that signs in D1 can.

Hope I explainted it clearly and in a way that helps you understand.

If you guys use nakshatras in D9 I genuinely need to know why and hear your reasons. So, please interact.

PS: I've noticed there's an unnecessarily big emphasis being placed on navamsa online. I assume it's because some sources say it's the chart of your "future spouse"(as in, you can know all about them from it). I think another reason is that people(young people esp.) look at astrology as an entertainment and a tool, while still taking it VERY seriously. Guys, it's not that serious. These are just patterns that yes, you should have fun with but don't you think we(not me, lol) put a lot of pressure on ourselves and others by overanalyzing? We don't need to complicate things or try to fit our lives to what our charts/astrologers say. Astrology should fit YOU, not the other way around.

And if you feel like what popular astrologers say about nakshatras/placements/aspects does not resonate with you, there's no need to look for divisional charts or additional information to justify this or that in a person's life. Look at what's obvious, simple and important, like a moon nakshatra, and know that you've discovered/observed something new about it. We all need originality 🙂

I have not seen anyone associate Bharani with Rapunzel, but it felt so real and true to me and I knew it in my heart that there was a connection. When I posted that article other Bharani natives(and ppl with important points in Bharani) told me how they too relate to that story and how much it means to them. Thaf made me so happy. That's what astrology and observations should be about 🤍

i joke. ok first of all i need to cite ten @bladesmitten as a resident durgewyll expert and direct you to his blog... she's written some incredible fic & analysis of the durgewyll romance and made a lot of gorgeous wyll edits and art in general, can't rec his blog enough.

i have sadly never played through the durgewyll romance & only watched it so there are undoubtedly story details i am unaware of. alas i have only played the tav version of his romance so far

some spoilers for durge beneath the cut. i tried to be vague but a warning there. also i didnt stick my oar into unreal unearth or any of the adjacent eps for that album .. sorry

all that being said here are my 2 cents

i think the main draw for picking hozier songs for durgewyll is that incredibly sexy dynamic they have of being each other's foil as well as each other's love interest. both wyll and durge are bound to an inescapable doom within the story: to pay with their body and soul for the fate of baldur's gate. durge must destroy it to please their father, wyll must save it. (wyll's saved it already, at the cost of his soul, and durge has to sacrifice their soul to destroy it as (redacted), but i wont go further on that tangent lol. its fascinating though.)

i think a core concept of wyll to focus on here as well is his faith. in his act 2 dance scene, in response to one of the dialogue options, wyll replies that he 'still keeps faith in the old tales of true love'- this is crucial. wyll is the man to whom the gods gave a cold shoulder. he has no love or faith for them. but he keeps faith in the old tales- he keeps faith, specifically, in durge.. 'his greatest adventure'.. and if durge chooses to resist their father's authority, they spurn a god for wyll's sake. there's an incredible amount of mutual devotion there.

there is also the monster hunter/monster dynamic. i haven't delved into it much here bc i am more interested in how eerily wyll and durge parallel each other as twin mirrors and exiles from the gate, the light and dark sides, sharing almost a common doom, trapped in the long shadows of their fathers.... man. but the monster dynamic should absolutely be examined and explored, it's fascinating. i think it's another compelling aspect of wyll's character. he's a man with a lot of resonant contradictions. a monster hunter who refuses to hunt the monster of baldur's gate and instead severs them from the one who made them .... a monster hunter who holds out his hand to the monster he is supposed to kill... wyll's love of the mysterious and strange and his kindness, i think, predispose him to see durge as an ally and a friend. not from naivete, but from an open heart

my hozier picks for durgewyll overall:

it will come back - i love the way the view shifts in this. one of my top durgewyll picks for the way it evokes a lot of the horror & tragedy that wyll looks into and doesnt flinch away from & the hunger durge has toward wyll extending his own lonely & friendly hand

shrike - i see this as primarily from durge's view. picked for the devotion & regret

NFWMB - applies beautifully to both of them. theeeee durgewyll song to me from andy's works... consider the lyrics from both person's perspective to feel the world open beneath your feet lol

as it was - ditto, i think it encompasses both perspectives. also one of my favorite songs he wrote so im biased lmao. i think this is another very resonant choice for the durgewyll dynamic

like real people do - feels an overly obvious pick but it could work especially well for a resist durge

no plan - could be an intriguing choice. i can't quite swing it but some of the lines in this for durgewyll... i like them...

you could definitely make a case for from eden for another from durge's view. gives me a feeling of a durge who's not resisting but idk

I'm generally not very keyed into a lot of mainstream pop culture, specifically hip-hop and rap in this instance, mostly because i feel fairly removed since a lot of the time I just don't vibe with a lot of the more popular music, but the Kendrick-Drake beef really started to pique my interest. Not just in terms of the drama/spectacle, (which I usually just completely ignore most of the time when it comes to literally anything else) and it is admittedly very captivating in a sense, but it's also lit a sort of fire under my ass to maybe broaden my music taste because ever since Like That came out and tons of people talked about Kendrick's feature on it, I've been very intently listening to the tracks he's been putting out and all of them have been very good in their own ways.

I've had a lot of respect for Kendrick as an artist before as someone who didn't listen to his music, but still understood how impactful and how skilled he was technically, how he talked about his life experiences and how he communicated them and reflected on himself through his songs. And this also just generally extends to genres of music like rap or hip-hop, where just because it's popular and the popular stuff can give off a bad impression, it's obviously never a good idea to write off an entire section of an art form just because of a small amount of works that may leave a bad taste in your mouth, because it's still art. It's still an outlet for people to express themselves, to talk about important topics while also being enjoyable to experience for an audience and have it be also be able to spread and resonate with people.

All this to say, while it's very much not the main point of all these diss tracks, I'm very happy that they could act as a sort of personal catalyst to maybe listen to something else besides the same few rock songs and video game osts for once in my life, because there's so much other good stuff out there that you could miss out on because you're too stubborn to break away from the one playlist you have.

Also, while this wasn't what this post was specifically about, it's still important to keep in mind that while it's very entertaining, it's not purely a spectacle and the things being said are very heavy and serious, (like Drake being a fucking creep) and while obviously this is music being released to the public for people to listen to and enjoy, the accusations levied shouldn't be ignored for the sake of personal enjoyment, but I think that's obvious.

P.S.

Fuck Drake, part of me does kind of hope Kendrick keeps releasing more stuff about this purely because of how funny it'd be for him to just keep going off while Drake just handles these responses horrendously

In my book, the music of the youth and the music of revolution is edm. Trance, techno, hardstyle, house, the works. All of that. Edm represents the fury of the youth, completely anti-everything. It takes disco and turns it violent. The older generation (boomers lol) had the New and disco and all that but I think they also had a lot of acoustic and guitar stuff too. Very 70s. All the older generation dream of this time as the quintessential everything was perfect and great and the kids are ungrateful and will never understand and what's with this harsh noise electronic shit? back in our day we had disco which was electronic that made sense and electronic that you could dance to, not all this ... super fast super loud super grating shit. The kids don't get it, they'll never understand dance music. That and also. Where's the human soul to it? Disco has lyrics. Our pop and folk music had people who actually played the instruments instead of getting a machine to do it. Our music was real music. Etc. all that bullshit

So now you have this new edm that's just so intense. You have other sounds of rebellion and the revolution as well, of course, metal and industrial and all those types. But it's mainly edm. Sure surrounding countries have their edm as well. Graad has its synth stuff developed in the 30s and so does gottwald and there's stuff coming out of the semenine too. All sorts of influences everywhere. But the edm coming out of insulinde, ex-heart of the world, especially revachol, is atomic as fuck like extremely intense like the most intense bass in your life. Insulindean culture, and revachol culture really, is at its heart flashy and loud and vibrant and full of life. It is a stubborn-headed persistence, it is a constant will to survive, it is a flower growing out of the rubble, its continuing in spite of all odds and carrying on no matter what. It is forcing the sun to shine when there is no sun, and every part of insulinde and revachol culture reflects this. Everything flashes, sparkles, shines. Everything insists it is here it is real it is present it is ALIVE dammit despite everything we are ALIVE. You cannot erase us no matter how hard you try. (Which is also what Harry is. He is, in his purest essence, very truly revacholian.) So the edm is also truly revacholian. Loud, intense, highspeed. Bass like you've never felt bass in your life. Atomic

They have all sorts of raves and shit in all the bombed out palaces of the suzerainty, too. In all of revachols demolished buildings and its wiped out neighborhoods and its abandoned warehouses and its abandoned factories. Down in the catacombs and in the unfinished branches of the metro lines. Life in the face of death. The world in the face of the pales catastrophic end, standing up against it, defying it

So this takes me to Kim who grew up listening to operas and symphonies bc the orphanage that raised him thought they were erasing his culture by inflicting so much insulindean culture on him (but because Kim never knew anything other than insulindean culture, all they did was make him love it). Kim who, upon hearing speedfreaks and all the electronic shit the youth were into, couldn't believe the disgrace. Hated it with all of his soul. But the more he was exposed to it and the more he had to Get it to be juvie, the more he started to understand and the more he really really started to love it. Now he absolutely is a whore for the most violent bass and beats in the world. He loves that shit. He can't get enough of it

Some image in my head of him and eyes going undercover to some rave and Kim just absolutely digs it completely and eyes who likes folk and blues and that kinda shit can't really wrap his head around it (but he too resonates with the rage, he too understands the intensity and the lifeforce thrumming behind every beat)

Can somebody please explain to me what the appeal of vampires is.

#I'm genuinely curious #people seem to go absolutely feral over this concept and I want to KNOW I want to UNDERSTAND #and there are some really excellent vampire aus that I love and I want to love them MORE because I want to GET IT™#because all I see are like...societally conventionally attractive people with fangs. who maybe (depending on The Lore™)#can't go out in the sun. and that just...doesn't resonate with me?#like I understand metaphors for 'othering' and the concept of monstrosity but I feel like that gets a little lost if there isn't anything #actually UNPALATABLE about them. like if they just look like what we culturally have idealized in human appearance then how can #they serve as a metaphor for ostracization or being misunderstood?#is it primarily an aesthetic thing? is it a *danger is sexy* thing?#but ordinary humans can be plenty dangerous too (see: 90% of the female characters I'm obsessed with)#so is it in the sense of you can vicariously experience that danger and heightened emotion in a situation that's removed from reality #so it feels less overwhelming when you're watching/reading the piece of fiction???#like I have seen this used effectively as a metaphor for marginalization (undead murder farce) and an exploration of how society #defines a 'monster' (shiki) but that doesn't seem to be the way most people or works engage with this concept #is it just that people like when characters are covered in blood because I DO understand that one lmao #I just feel like vampires have been branded as a Key Aspect of Bisexual/Gay Culture and I feel like I am on a separate plane of existence #because It Is Not Clicking For Me #(tbh I feel like there are a lot of Quintessential Queer Experiences™ that don't apply to me but. that's a whole separate thing.)#ANYWAY would love to hear people's thoughts!#I am cooking up a Meta Post™ about fandom reaction to the concept of monstrosity and I want to gather as much information as possible

#it was one of those “read me and give me a piece of yourself to keep if you want to finish me” books #it was the Past is Never by Tiffany Tyson #it was good and had parts i liked a lot and resonated strongly with #it wasnt graphic but it did have heavy subject matters for sure #middle sort of slogged #and it was first pov which im always stupidly picky about idky #so i kinda rec it but you need to be in the right mood to approach this book i think #its southern gothic #im mixed race but mexican and much as people like to remind me im half white i certainly didnt pass where i went to college #and a few people reminded me of that in the Bad Way #not me reading 275 pages in 5 hours with one break im fine

WORKSHOP WENT SO WELL!!!! the students got really into the activities and just did SUCH a good job in the debrief conversation at the end. one of the students also works for our office under my coworker's supervision (although i'd never met her before) and my coworker said the student messaged her after to rave about how fun the workshop was and how good the group discussions were. and at the end one of the professional staff who worked at the center just got up and spontaneously gave a little speech about how much undergrad research had meant to him and how much doing community-engaged work helped him untangle these complicated questions and feelings about his identity and his relationship to his community. it was just really nice!! good group, very good energy, and i think/hope they are going to want to invite us back to do more programming with their students this year. fingers crossed!!!

#it feels REALLY good to be getting out there and starting to set up these workshops & talks with student groups #like it just makes the work come alive in a different way and you also get so much good input from them #on what resonates/what doesn't and also like what the barriers or points of confusion/anxiety are that hold them back #from getting involved in these kinds of experiences #plus kids are just so smart and thoughtful #and college age is just aaaaa it is my favorite age #such a moment of self-discovery and exploration and trying on different ways of being in the world #and also.. i will admit... it is easier to navigate their personalities sometimes than the personalities of adult faculty and staff #because (as i think macky said to me a while back) there's at least a loose mutual understanding of what our roles are #and what our relationship is to each other #and you get to be more in that teacher/mentor/listener/facilitator role for them #idk anyway #i'm so glad it went well it's been kind of looming in my mind for a couple weeks #but now i think we have a great template for a workshop that we can use with lots of different groups #so hurrah! and also most of my people-facing work is done for the week i just have a couple small meetings left!#but other than that it's just sustained worktime! the dream!

Words genuinely cannot describe the absolute rush of excitement and happiness I feel when voicing Nemona in the final scenes of the Victory Road quest. She's so special to me

#mel's musings #one of the main reasons i love voice acting games so much is it helps me feel better connected to the characters #and there's nothing better than that rush you get when you're super zoned in on a scene with high emotional weight #whether that emotion is sorrow or determination or anger or joy.....it brings me satisfaction and catharsis in a way like no other #i suppose it's the performer in me. i give my all even if no one's around to hear me #nemona's story in particular really resonates with me as an autistic person with a special interest i dedicate a lot of my energy to #and unfortunately have some people chalk it up to natural talent while ignoring the work i put in to get so good #and being surrounded by that attitude fucked me up in some pretty insidious ways but i'll spare y'all that rant for now #point is i love her and her voice is one of my faves. i love all three rivals in this game they're such good kids ;w;#mel plays scarvi
