Josh is so valid. Naive, yes. But so valid :(

You're very correct, I love Josh a lot.

He is a victim of terrible writing just as North is. Neither of them are allowed any development if Markus chooses the opposite of what they want, even if he succeeds. Josh is also a victim of inconsistent writing, as sometimes (like during Freedom March) he says "we should stand our ground, even if it means dying here", but later on right before the Jericho raid he says " What's the point of being free if no one is left alive? “ like... someone forgot what Josh’s opinion was supposed to be when they wrote him.

Josh is definitely naïve, despite his supposed background in history. But he and North both provide contrary perspectives for Markus, who is meant to be the communion of their beliefs. Josh is passionate about what he believes, he cares about his friends and the deviants of Jericho, and he is kind. Josh is absolutely valid
