Hey padfootastic,
Was scrolling through hp posts and saw a post where people were fighting over Remus situation. So just wanted to know your opinion bout it. Do you think Remus could have done better in PoA? He was a professor, responsible for the safety of others.
No matter how much I love Sirius but at that time he wasn't innocent in others mind, so hiding a big detail that could have affected the whole situation, hell, had Sirius really had been behind harry, he would have been dead cause our little innocent Remus here thought that it was a good idea to not tell them how Sirius had all the resources at his disposal. How easy it was for him to sneak into Hogwarts and harm harry and others.
It really was dangerous and well indirectly he did prove Snape right no? What do you think could have happened had Remus had guts to tell Dumbledore about Sirius being an animagus?
On the other side, oh man! I can imagine Sirius being all furious and depressed at the same time. He'd need to go for another plan, he'd think that now he won't be able to even see Harry easily and many more difficulties. Ugh
Imagine the angst after after innocence thing, Sirius letting go any single drop of love he might have had for Remus and treating him like a any other person. No different. Remus hating himself more and more and Sirius just. Not. Giving a. Single. eff. About the whole damn thing. I cant-
Please tell me what you think bout the whole situation.
yoooooo
i love this lol people asking me for my remus opinions never gets old bc i have endless salt to provide. i will never not be annoyed by that cretin.
okay so. PoA. i don’t often focus on that part of his whole arc (which is, funnily enough, one of the only concessions to remus’ ‘flaws’ that i’ve seen the remus fans give lol) but it’s honestly so??? like it’s literally one of the best examples we have of how self preservation is literally built into his core. iirc he doesn’t do it bc he’s afraid of how dumbledore would perceive him? doesn’t want him to know how they (he) broke his trust? and he’s willing to damn an entire school of students PLUS his best friends son to an alleged mass murderer for it. he will have that on his conscience rather than self introspection a bit and get thru the hard part.
i’ve seen people call him brave for a variety of reasons which all begin and end w his lycanthropy but i’m gonna be honest, he’s one of the most cowardly characters in the series in my opinion. every single time he has to make an active decision that might compromise his sense of self/perception or even just his peace of mind, he backs off. retreats. runs the fuck away. attacks outward. doesn’t take responsibility.
i think snape was both right, in that remus was helping sirius but wrong, because it wasn’t out of any friendship or responsibility. it was just a way to save face for himself. also probably him not wanting to confront any difficult feelings or memories.
wrt if he had told dumbledore? man idek. i literally can’t imagine it and surprisingly, haven’t read any fics exploring that option either 🤔 sus, that. also very telling lol maybe tightened security? disappointed dumbles? i cant see any major changes tho bc even sirius as a grim was pretty well hidden except maybe anti animagus wards if those r a thing?
also yes!!! i think sirius should be allowed to be angry and disappointed more often. he should be spitting mad about the fact that not only did remus not care a lick about harry, he also gave up so easily on sirius. i think he should be allowed that space.

If you could choose from any of the literally countless amounts of evidence we all collected over the years about SC's toxic ass frack behaviour to shove right on the face of the author behind that Forbes article (BTW only SG and Legends due to the cancelation were done dirty, the rest weren't) which one would you Queen pick to roast him with?
One? Nah, more than one.
-death threats sent to Mehcad and all his story about he was afraid for his life and needed additional guards on SDCC, how they mocked his every tweet and put monkey stickers on his face
-how they bullied Rahul for one ep so much that he called them fanhooligans
-all the shit they have done to Staz, along with mocking his depression, accusing him of cheating on his girlfriend and bitching about his every instagram post
-going after David and calling him immature - a black man who suffered from serious mental breakdown and had major mental health issues
-stalking Azie so much she moved from her apartment and needed to tell them to shut the fuck up during BLM era, while they were harassing her for content
-going after Nicole and cancelling her for standing up for Staz and boycotting Nia's ep, because William was in it
-going after SG writers, POC bi woman included
-going after the author of SG novels and spreading bullshit on her twitter, after her interview with Melissa
-stalking Keith and demanding McG's content while sending him shit to his private emails (how they got it, huh?)
-moving from one country to another to stalk McG and it seems stalking her is their normal shit to do
-sexualizing Melissa, posting bullshit about her, using her trauma to shit on her marriage
-wishing death to MW's son
-all the shit they have done to Chris
-how they gloryfied jennoist, and that's a fact, before Melissa talked about her ex-husband, because this is how big marriage experts they are
Batwoman was cancelled too and I don't think the show's fans were happy about it.

I literally fell asleep thrice doing today's set. Help my sleep schedule is FUKT
100 days of productivity
Day 6
RS/CVS
(updated) drugs causing pulmonary fibrosis: amiodarone, nitrofurantoin, ergot alkaloids (cabergoline, bromocriptine, methysergide), antineoplastics (methotrexate, bleomycin, busulphan, cyclophosphamide), diamorphine/heroin, acyclovir, sulfasalazine, propranolol
mnemonic for lower lobe fibrosis: CAID: connective tissue disorders (think SLE, RA) EXCEPT AxSpA, asbestosis, idiopathic interstitial pneumonias including IPF and COP), drugs (as above)
pneumothorax is apparently a cause for... lifelong ban on scuba diving??? like I get it but it seems so random lmfao? (air travel however is permissible as long as the PTX has resolved)
on that topic, asymptomatic or oligosymptomatic 1° PTX with an air shadow of <2 cm is treated on an outpatient basis
pleural plaques are inherently benign and incapable of malignant transformation. Further, although they are pathognomonic of asbestos exposure, there is no need to perform screening tests or to follow up *unless* the patient develops symptoms
orthopnoea without ssx of LVF/CHF? consider diaphragmatic palsy!
lung disease > steroid + immunosuppressant therapy > improved systemic symptoms but worsening lung symptoms → get an LDH and BAL—it's probably PJP!
ASD + left axis = ostium primum defect; ASD + right axis = ostium secundum defect
CNS
Parkinson's + exquisite sensitivity to antidopaminergics = consider Lewy body disease
Weber syndrome = hemiplegia w/ contralateral 3rd nerve palsy
ID
falciparum schizonts are typically sequestered and not seen on thin smears; if they're seen, it's a sign of imminent spike in parasite load and clinical decompensation, so immediately begin IV ACT
GIT
consider endoscopic USG over CT for staging oesophageal tumours
Endocrine/Repro
band keratopathy → important to rule out hypercalcaemia (especially hyperparathyroidism)
linagliptin specifically requires NO renal adjustment (whereas other DPP-4 inhibitors and all GLP-1 agonists do)
other than urinary Ca:Cr ratio testing, 1° hyperPTH can be differentiated from familial hypocalciuric hypercalcaemia in the fact that FHH is almost never symptomatic at the time of diagnosis and even when it is, symptoms are not as marked as they are in symptomatic 1° hyperPTH.
Haem/Onc
other than nasopharyngeal carcinoma and lymphomas EBV is also associated with gastric cancer
morphine-fent conversion: 60-135 mg/day morphine → 25 mcg/hr fent + each 45 mg/day interval of morphine thereafter corresponds to an additional 12.5 mcg/hr of fent (eg, 60-135 mg/day morphine = 25/hr mcg fent, 135-180 mg/day morphine = 37.5 mcg/hr fent, 180-225 mg/day morphine = 50 mcg/hr fent etc)
Rheum
fevers + joint pains + palpable purpura + nephritis (cresenteric or focal necrotising) + p-ANCA+ → consider microscopic polyangiitis!
extremely high ferritin + arthralgias/arthritis → look for stigmata of haemochromatosis vs adult-onset Still's disease
(Still's is classically seronegative btw)
Jaccoud arthralgias (not a true arthritis as there is no joint effusion) → Sjögren (can't see, can't spit, can't climb shit)

Like honestly, why is it such a big deal that Ron struggles and complains about his problems once in a while when all other times he is always does his best to be there for his friends with their problems? People who complain about him act like he’s super unsympathetic and never helps Harry when like, off the top of my head, things Ron has done:
-Would always either stay at Hogwarts so Harry wouldn’t be alone on Christmas, or would invite Harry to his family’s for Christmas. Was also super casual about it and would come up with excuses why he was doing this so Harry wouldn’t feel awkward.
-when Harry didn’t write back to him, he quickly became worried the Dursleys were doing something bad to him, told his family about it (SEVERAL TIMES, apparently)  (like as far as I can tell every single day Harry didn’t write back Ron was panicking about it to his parents and siblings and wondering what the hell was going on) and then he hatched a plan with his brothers to steal a car, break the law, fly all the way to Harry’s house, forcibly grabbed him from his screaming relatives and then took him to his house.
-Generally acts super chill about his mum blatantly giving Harry more attention than him, because he knows Harry needs it. Like, aside from a few jokes about it, he never acted overtly resentful about that. I think the Horcrux revealed that it made him insecure about whether his mum liked Harry more deep down (I’d have to reread the seventh book it’s been a while) yet he never once mentioned this. The fact he never let that show out of empathy for Harry is pretty impressive.
-tried to call Harry on the telephone despite not knowing how to use it and was then worried that he got Harry in trouble.
-when Harry wrote that he needed food, Ron once again informed his entire family and got an entire truckload sent to him.
-He informed Harry that even if he had to kidnap him from the Dursley’s home again, he was going to get Harry to spend the summer with them his family and see the Quidditch World Cup. He worked with his family to get an invitation sent to the Dursleys, then immediately wrote Harry a personal note saying “btw if they say no we’re coming anyway I will beat them all up if i have to”)
-if anyone badmouths Harry or Hermione in front of him, even someone he likes (like Seamus), he will rabidly defend them and basically prepare to fight that person.
-this includes teachers
-if someone calls Hermione (or anyone) a slur he will have to be physically restrained from attacking that person.
-when McG wouldn’t let Harry go to Hogsmeade Ron was in deep despair over the unfairness of it all, got personally angry and called McG several curse words. He and Hermione got Harry ton of sweets while they were there and tried to downplay how fun it was.
-When Percy wrote him a letter telling him to drop Harry as a friend, Ron made a giant show of ripping the letter into pieces and throwing it dramatically into a fire (what a nerd, honestly)
-generally did his best to be patient and understanding with Harry’s depression and anger issues in fifth year, but would firmly point out to him when he was crossing a line without flipping out back at him.
(which, as previous examples demonstrate, Ron’s fuse is pretty short, so that likely required a lot of effort on his part)
(like, he and Hermione never invalidated Harry’s feelings, but Ron would point out when he was getting angry at the wrong people in a pretty calm way.  He said something like “It’s not our fault Snape and Umbridge are like that. We think you should stop taking it out on us when we’re on your side.” He was able to set boundaries and make Harry realize his behavior wasn’t okay while also making it clear he knew he was dealing with a lot and he was here for him and supported him. Pretty good example of how to friend and a lot more mature than most 15 year olds could have managed.)
-when he found out about Umbridge’s abuse, he was visibly sickened, argued with Harry for a long time than he needed to tell an adult, was upset Harry hadn’t mentioned it and when he couldn’t convince Harry, apparently told Hermione so she could help out and give him healing stuff.
-also just the general fact he gladly went along with all of Harry’s super dangerous adventures and literally said he would die for him and never acted resentful of nearly getting murdered on a regular basis due to association with Harry
-guys Ron even told Voldermort to shut up when he said something mean about Harry i mean. let’s just consider that. He yelled at Voldemort. I’m pretty sure he was the first one who started yelling too.
So I really don’t get why people focus on the few times Ron complained and the whole two times in their seven year friendship when he got so fucked up about his own issues that he fought with Harry and didn’t support him (and the second time probably would not have happened if it weren’t EVIL SOUL SHARD THAT AMPLIFIED NEGATIVE FEELINGS) when the entire rest of their friendship is unwavering support. It’s so weird to me. You don’t have to like Ron, but acknowledge characters can be flawed and human and don’t hold him to ridiculous standards.

Swine Flu- 2nd Pass on Stuff You Need to Know to Stay Well
Not to long ago I provided some information on some suggestions on how to avoid Swine Flu (H1N1) infection.
I don’t want to repeat myself but there are some serious information what is worth expanding on and one is a prediction of sorts. The intent here is to suggest some effective solutions instead of harping on future problems. There is no satisfaction for anyone with the announcement of future suffering and possible death when maybe it will never occur.
The big news is the Swine Flu has become a pandemic. Let me be clear and define what exactly a pandemic is. A pandemic is defined as a infectious disease that rapidly spreads around the world. I have mention from time to time that it will be a “when” not “if”. In other words a pandemics will occur, Swine Flu is what is happening now, tomorrow it will be something else. It’s always something. Given enough time we will see all varieties of disease.
There’s a lot of media hype. You have to look past that to the facts. The media must sell itself to stay in business.
I would like to make some suggestions that go beyond whatever I said previously.
For your information the WHO (World Health Organization) has increased the alert level from 3 to 5 in late May, early June. As of today’s date June 14, 2009 the WHO alert level is 6. This is the highest level. Their is none higher. Here is the definition of a level 6 as provided by WHO. (level 5 is also provided as background).
” Phase 5 is characterized by human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region. While most countries will not be affected at this stage, the declaration of Phase 5 is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short.
Phase 6, the pandemic phase, is characterized by community level outbreaks in at least one other country in a different WHO region in addition to the criteria defined in Phase 5. Designation of this phase will indicate that a global pandemic is under way.”
The pandemic has arrived, according to WHO, by announcing level (phase) 6.
Only time will tell is this is the ultimate big one. The last one was the influenza pandemic of 1918. More people died in this one in a single year than died in the Black Death Bubonic Plague (4 years) from 1347 to 1351. Somewhere between 20 to 40 million people died in 1918. This was more than died in World War I.
We need to take this very seriously.
Remember that prevention is much more effective than a cure.
So let’s look at the precautions and some basic supplies that should be on hand at all times. All that I about to recommend are “natural” solutions and these not only work against the Swine Flu but any flu.
Also these same solutions work in case you do become infected.
Let’s make one thing clear. You cannot become infected by consuming pork products. If any pork should be infected it is destroyed by cooking it thoroughly.
First, I don’t recommend vaccines. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) reports that the current vaccine was not formulated for this strain of swine flu. So forget any vaccination. Anyway it has been shown time and time again that flu vaccines don’t work. They can do more harm than good.
Some of you may remember the big flu problem in 1976. Just in case you don’t, a small number of people got sick with what was then also called the Swine Flu. The CDC embarked on a massive vaccination program. Not only did it not protect the people from the flu, but it finally resulted in about 500 people getting something called Guillain-Barre syndrome. This was a degenerative nerve disorder directly caused by the flu vaccine used at that time. So forget any vaccination.
Did you know that the pharmaceutical companies now have complete immunity from any legal attacks from people that experience side effects from any vaccination, whether it be public or private? Even if someone dies from a vaccine, the heirs cannot sue the pharmaceutical, so say the Supreme Court of the United States.
The current drugs prescribed for the flu are Tamiflu and Relenza. The H1N1 virus has developed almost total to Tamiflu and probably has to Relenza as well.
So let’s get on with what you can do, naturally.
1. Get plenty of rest and sleep. This will allow all your energy to be directed to your immune system so it can fight the virus.
2. Wash your hands frequently. ANTI-BACTERIAL SOAP IS NOT EFFECTIVE, DON’T USE IT. After rinsing you hands in water, splash some hydrogen peroxide over your hands and let them air dry or use paper towels for drying. Do not use cloth towels as they could be infected.
3. If you have an outbreak in your area get some N95 or N100 facial masks to wear when you in crowds, in meetings or in the doctors office. the N100 Mechanical filter respirators is best as it provides more filtration.
Let’s discuss your health and nutrition.
It is basic good health to maintain the good bacteria population in the lower bowel. Do not use antibiotics as they kill the good bacteria as well as the bad. Help these good bacteria to survive with the consumption of live yogurt and a good daily probiotic supplement.
Make sure you are getting enough of Vitamin D. If you are not outside in full sun with at least 30% of your body exposed for a period of 30 minutes daily, you need to supplement with Vitamin D. At least 2,000 IU daily is suggested for adults. For children and increased dosage for adults (Altern Med Rev 08;13:9-20)
BTW, sardines are an excellent source of vitamin D. Be very selective. Of the two sources that I deem excellent, Norway and Portugal, Portugal is the highest quality. Sardines are provided in all kinds of sauces. Forget them. Select your Portuguese sardines packed in either water or olive oil only.
As a side benefit you will be getting one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids.
Selenium – Make sure your daily supplement includes 200 to 400 micrograms (mcg). Also selenium is an excellent supplement for men’s prostate health.
Make sure you eat a healthy quantity, only lightly steamed, of a combination of any 2 or 3 of the following: broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, mustard greens or collard greens.
Vitamin C – This is a must and should be taken daily and increased when diseases like the swine flu is announced. The dosage of vitamin C varies widely depending on each person. The best form is “pure ascorbic acid crystals (a powder). The suggestion is to start out with 1,000 mg daily. If this dosage caused loose stools (bowel) then cut back until the stools return to near normal. Then increase slowly as long as the stools remain normal Some individuals can tolerate as much as 5,000 mg daily of vitamin C.
Anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungus – There is one product that has all these qualities – Colloidal Silver. It is available in spray for the throat; vertical for the nose (nasal passages) which is very important. During flu season I would suggest using the nasal spray 3 times a day and if you are in an infected area use whenever you are in the company of other people. Use often. Colloidal is know to destroy over 650 bacteria, virus and fungus.
There you have it. All the information, precautions, and treatment to stay healthy and possible disease-free during this critical phase of the swine flu pandemic.
