Note
I was at one of those indoor trampoline parks for a kid bday party today and there was a dad in the dodgeball pit just mercilessly pelting kids with foam balls. Then a woman came running over, I’m assuming his wife, going “STOP it! Get OUT of there! I need you to help me set up the cupcakes!” And obviously this was Obikin in the wild. I thought of you because I imagine something like this happened in the PIP universe.
Thank you for thinking of PiP and sharing with me!!! It makes my heart happy 💕
So yesterday I was at a trampoline park too! And of course I was 100% having obikin thoughts!
My first thought was PiP family being exactly like the one you saw in the wild: Anakin would 100% be owning all of Luke’s friends at dodgeball when it turns out Luke is actually terrible at it to help him save face and/or challenging Obi-Wan to a dunking competition at basketball courts - while Leia is pretending she is with another family entirely
But then - I have some kind of really vague thoughts for a nanny au that I’ve never really settled on a plot/dynamics for. The kids are younger in this, maybe 4. This is at the beginning when Anakin hasn’t officially hired Obi-Wan yet: they bring the kids out together because he’s still seeing if they’re a good fit. I’m imagining Obi-Wan basically having a panic attack trying to keep track of the kids in all the mayhem. Luke gets lost in the climbing structure and can’t find his way out, despite Leia going in to help him and Obi-Wan’s calm, clear directions, so Anakin goes in after him. It’s the first time Obi-Wan softens to him - Anakin is an asshole in this to everyone who is Not His People - when he sees him be patient and kind with the kids. Anakin decides Obi-Wan is alright and hires him as their nanny.

Amazing Trampoline Games to Keep Your Kids Active
Amazing Trampoline Games to Keep Your Kids Active - As the weather gets warmer, kids are spending more time outside. Children can play and exercise while having lots of fun on the trampoline. Trampolines are becoming more popular among both adults and children as they provide both thrill and exercise in equal amounts. Trampoline is the ideal activity for children as it offers a variety of play. Here are some pointers for getting your kids involved in trampoline games:
Verify that the trampoline is the appropriate size for your kids and that it is in good condition.
Start with easy games and progress to more difficult games. Keep an eye on your kids.
Keep an eye on your children at all times when they are playing on the trampoline. Urge your children to wear wrist guards and a helmet in addition to other safety equipment.
Amazing Trampoline Games to Keep Your Kids Active
If you are looking for ways to keep your kids active then here are some Trampoline Games to Keep Your Kids Active  –
Follow the leader
Playing the popular game Follow the Leader on an outdoor trampoline is even more fun. Choose a leader before you start playing. Other participants have to imitate the leader's movements, whether dancing, scratching the head, or flailing a cock. The game is over for any participant who does not follow or keep pace with the leader's movements. The one who leaves last is the new leader. You can play some music to make them dance wildly.
Freeze Tag
This is another timeless game that is easy to play on a trampoline. "It" is one person, and that person must tag the other participants. If you find yourself marked, you must remain motionless. After that, other players may try to tag you again or jump on you. Whoever was tagged last won.
Trampoline Dodgeball
For older kids, dodgeball is a great trampoline game because it demands more coordination than the basic game. Use soft foam balls to play and make sure everyone is safe! Select a team to use the trampoline for jumping. Assign a limited number of dodgeballs to the remaining players and have them stand up. One team jumps while the other tries to score, earning one point for each successful jumper.
Capture the Flag
A great way to get your children moving and help develop their cooperation abilities is playing Capture the Flag. Players should be divided into two teams and placed on opposite sides of the trampoline. The goal of the game is to take the flag from the opposing team and return it to your own. If you are found using the opposing team's flag, you must return.
Trampoline Basketball
This is a great way to have fun while exercising. On opposite sides of the trampoline, two teams are located. On one side of the trampoline, participants attempt to throw a ball into a net. Players of the other team try to stop the ball. The winning team is in first place with ten points.
Trampoline gymnastics
Gymnasts can execute a variety of skills on the trampoline, including aerials, handstands and flips. There are many online and in-person resources available on trampoline gymnastics if you are interested in learning more.
Conclusion
These are some of the games you can play with your kids on the trampoline. Titan Toys have an Airborne Trampoline, available in 8ft, 10ft or 12 ft! With our trampoline create your games using your imagination. Allowing youngsters to jump to their heart's content is a great way for them to have fun and exercise on trampolines!

Why Trampoline Park is the Perfect Venue for Your Kid's Birthday Party?
Birthdays are the best days of our life. Birthdays as kids are some of the best memories we cherish. The happy faces, the excitement, the endless energy, the constant running around, the shouting, singing, and goofiness. Birthdays are indeed the highlight of each year that goes by.
As a parent, it is up to you to plan the party and make it memorable. We know you want your child to be the happiest he has ever been. We know you want all his friends to have fun. We know that planning can be a tad difficult at times. And we have the solution for you.
It's a Trampoline Park.
The attractions will keep the little ones occupied and entertained throughout the party time without an ounce of boredom.
Is a Trampoline Park Birthday Party Right for Your Kid?
As you can see, there are a number of steps you can take to ensure your trampoline park birthday party is a hit. By using the tips and information here, you can feel confident that everyone is going to have a great time.
What Can Trampoline Parks Offer?
Trampolines have always been fun. The freeing feel you get with each jump and bounce is unlike anything else you'll experience. Trampoline parks take the fun to a whole new level. Here is how.
Endless Activities
The kind of activities you can indulge in a Trampoline Park is more than you can experience in a single visit. You'll have to plan to come back because you'll have missed at least a couple of them, if not more.
At Altitude, we have an array of attractions for you to explore and participate in.
A kid's court where they can jump and bounce to their heart's desire;
A foam pit that'll engulf you whole when you jump in;
Tumble tracks to show off your gymnastics skills;
An indoor soft playing area with a series of mazes, slides, and tunnels;
Dodgeball, basketball, wall-climbing, you name it, and we've got it.
A Social Setting
Another great benefit of a Trampoline Park is its social setting. After the pandemic and lockdown, we need to fill in our social quota because staying isolated or indoors has been the norm lately. The social atmosphere will give you and your child an opportunity to interact with more people than just their friends.
Safety
Trampoline Parks are as safe as they are fun. All the walls will be soft; there will be padding or netting wherever required for a safer landing every time. The staff is always trained with emergency training as well, including CPR. Our support team will always be there to protect you. These parks also have to go through and pass routine inspections to know for certain that everything is safe.
How Will Altitude Make Your Kid's Birthday a Success?
If you choose Sky Zone as your kid’s birthday party venues Las Vegas, you'll never be able to choose a different place. We guarantee that level of fun.
We provide a series of activities for your kid and his friends to dive into. The jumping, tumbling, and soaring will keep their energy levels satiated with no pressure on you at all. We'll take over all the planning. All you have to do is give us a ring, tell us the day, provide a guest list and be ready for the ultimate birthday party. Our party planners have years of experience in planning and executing the best events and are dedicated to providing the most wonderful celebration experience for you.
Our parties include everything needed and more for a successful birthday party.
Bounce and party time that'll last for 2 hours, giving your little ones enough time to have fun yet not be too tired.
A personal party host with the sole intention of keeping your party entertained and satisfied. Anything you need, he'll provide.
Refreshments to keep the energy going. We will have you covered, from bottled water or juice pouches to pizzas, chicken fingers, or chicken fries. Plates, napkins, and utensils, no worries.
Safety measures with our special jump socks for all your guests and a trained team that dedicatedly follows all the safety protocols.
Free Goodies, we can't send you away without at least one memento to remember us by. The birthday boy/girl will get a free Altitude t-shirt.
Future enticement, with the fun you'll have at our park, we know you'll definitely visit again. But for that added incentive, we'll give your child a free jump pass for the future.
All of our party packages are customizable to cater to your liking, your kid's age, and the guest list. You can also reserve a private room if you want. If your child is less than six years of age, we advise booking a 10:00 am slot.
We want you to have the best experience at our park, so consider signing an online waiver before visiting us. Visit skyzone.com/lasvegas to know more.

🏮 | First Date With Kirishima Headcanons - Trampoline Park
Summary: Kirishima asks you out on a date and takes you to a trampoline park
Contains: Gender neutral reader, lotsa fluff, a singular cussword (thanks, Bakugo), first date awkwardness, simp kiri simp kiri simp kir-
A/N: I’m working on first date headcanons for Iida, Denki, Mina, and Mirio (ft. Eri) so if you like any of those characters stay tuned! Or send in a request for another character! I’m begging you smh
Word Count: 534
Tumblr media
🏮 Bakugo’s the one to get him to ask you out, simply because he wouldn’t stop gushing about you and he was over it
🏮’Did you see y/n during training today?’ ‘I saw y/n eating chicken at lunch today and I love chicken too! It’s literally perfect!!’ ‘y/n’s hair looks so good today! I th-’
🏮 ‘STOP BOTHERING ME AND ASK THEM OUT ALREADY’
🏮 ‘Okay!! :)’ ‘Fucking finally’
🏮 Baby boy is waiting by your desk the next day for you to come up and he’s lowkey anxious, but he knows if he doesn’t do this it’s gonna haunt him for the rest of his life dramatic much?? And Bakugo’s gonna keep yelling at him every time he even mentions your name
🏮 When you walk in his heart literally does a screenshot like- it stops but it’s beating against his ribcage at the same time how does that even happen
🏮 He doesn’t even give you a chance to sit down before he blurts it out
🏮 “H- Hey y/n! I just wanted to say… I think you’re super cool and I was wondering if you’d like to go out with me this weekend like… as a date?”
🏮 Of course, you say yes!! If you say no then what’s wrong with you,,,, jkjk
🏮 During the days leading up to the date, he’s off his A-game ‘cause he’s just too darn excited
🏮 You dog on him because he won’t tell you where you’re going but he wants it to be a surprise!! :( He just tells you to trust him and dress in something casual but comfy and make sure to wear socks… where the fuck is he taking you??
🏮 After trying not to gush over your look for the night, you guys leave the dorms together and head into the city, still completely in the dark as to where he’s taking you. But you guys make nice small talk on the way there
🏮 You’re not really surprised when you end up walking through the doors of an indoor trampoline park, it’s pretty on-brand for him and you’re not complaining!
🏮 You guys are quick to throw your shoes into a locker and race each other to the trampolines
🏮 As most dates do, things start off a little awkward until he offers to teach you how to do some flips which you happily agree to, and after that, you guys are back to your normal goofy selves :’))
🏮 There’s so much romantic friendly competition between the two of you as you compete on the obstacle courses, see who can go the furthest distance in the foam pit, and even ‘sabotage’ each other during basketball
🏮 But you guys redirect your competitive spirit towards the opposing team in a game of dodgeball
🏮He’s pretty sure he shed a tear of manliness when you take a ball to the chest for him like- genuinely honored
🏮 After your team wins the match, he thanks you for your ‘sacrifice’ with a bear hug aWW
🏮 You guys end the date by grabbing some boba and walking back to the dorms hand in hand and the banter is immaculate <33

Fatima and Rountree had decided to go to the trampoline park one Friday after work, mostly because it had been a paperwork day and they both wanted to do something physical. They got their wristbands and put their shoes, phones, and other random items in a locker. They had left their guns in a locked box in the back of Rountree's truck. Fatima carefully removed her colorful hijab, leaving a basic black one.
"Race you to the obstacle course," Fatima teased. They took off running. Fatima was grabbing at the ropes, making her way across. She let herself fall into the foam pit and laughed. Rountree dropped himself next to her and started tickling her. She screamed and started trying to get away. Within five minutes, they were wrestling and laughing. They went to the empty dodgeball area and started throwing the balls each other. Fatima laughed when she fell on her knees. Rountree threw a ball at her, which hit het stomach. Fatima squeaked and laughed. Rountree went over.
"Get up," he said over and over as he tickled her. She started kicking and squealing. They wandered over to the free jump area and started bouncing around. She did a few different style flips as Rountree watched. He loved to see her so happy and carefree. He scooped her up and tossed her onto the next trampoline over. She screamed as she hit it, but she wasn't injured. They spent the next half hour chasing each other around and wrestling. They took a quick water break, then went for the basketball hoops.
After their wristbands expired, they walked to a conveniently placed ice cream shop next door. Fatima got an orange sherbet cone, while Rountree got a Rocky Road cone. They walked around a little outdoor shopping center, enjoying their ice cream and each other's company. They tangled their fingers together as they walked around, looking at various items. Rountree noticed Fatima eyeing a bracelet, blue string with blue and purple beads with a shimmery mermaid tail charm.
"You like that one?" he asked softly.
"Yeah. You know, Leilani had one like this," she replied. Rountree had already planned on buying it real quick while she was distracted, but now he knew he had to. He smiled.
"That's pretty cool," he said softly. He watched as she walked away to a trash can.
"How much for this one?" Rountree asked hurriedly.
"Five bucks," the woman replied. Rountree quickly paid and tucked the bracelet into its pouch and put it into his pocket. When Fatima came back, he quickly lead her away.
Once they were sitting in his car chatting before she went inside, Rountree reached over. He took her hand in his and smiled shyly.
"So I got you something," be said. Fatima looked up, confused. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the little pouch. She gasped.
"Are you for real? Thank you so much!" she practically squealed. He laughed and put it on her wrist. They shared a quick hug and kiss before she left. He smiled as she unlocked her front door and went inside.

Truce? Ch 2.
The PR team planned their dates, making sure they were seen regularly going to coffee shops and galas, all the regular things that someone dating Tony Stark would attend.
Bucky struggled to adjust to his new level of fame, followed everywhere he went by people who insisted on shoving cameras in his face and asking for quotes on how his relationship is going. To this day, he didn’t understand how “Fine” or “Good” was a bad answer. The PR people kept telling him to be brief, but positive. What was negative about good?
Tony found his discomfort hilarious and took great joy in taking him to events filled with folks that his company did business with—and 200 of their closest friends. They would go around, making introductions to get Bucky familiar with the people that inhabited Tony’s world and engage in small talk. Tony’s favourite game was when someone would say something along the lines of “And recently, I’ve been devoting time to the exploration of blah blah blah,” and Tony would jump in with, “You know who loves blah blah blah? Bucky! Why don’t you tell them all about your own progress, sweetheart?”
And Bucky would have to rapidly come up the details of a fake interest in tree pruning or velocity equations or non-Indians trying to cleanse their chakras through their navel—or whatever else they decided to talk about.
All he wanted to do was get out of the uncomfortable bow ties and into some fluffy socks and sweatpants, curling up with Steve to watch Finding Nemo and dreaming about sea turtles. Instead, he was going through his own personal nightmare, talking to people he had no interest in—who were much too invested in talking about themselves.
After a few of these events, Tony quickly lost interest in Bucky’s impressive ability to adapt and decided that if they had to go on dates anyway, they might as well go somewhere actually fun. Two days later, he dragged Bucky to a trampoline park a little upstate from the city, which of course they had to rent out for the afternoon to prevent being mobbed by a crowd of Tony Stark fans (the Bucky Barnes fans were laying low on account of the controversy).
The park was housed in a huge building with various areas of trampoline activities for them to try out, from the wide-open space meant for being your best acrobatic self, to basketball hoops and the dodgeball courts. On one side, there was an entire glass wall to let in the light and looked over the green hill the park sat on. It would be beautiful if the view wasn’t covered by the eyes of the world that were watching them, pressed against the translucent surface and fogging it up with their hot breath.
Bucky now knew what it was like to be a goldfish trapped in a glass tank and hated it, but at least it meant that they were getting the attention they needed to.
“Okay Barnes, here’s the deal.” Tony stood in front of the obstacle course with his hands propped on his hips, clad in a stretchy t-shirt and tights with the sheer material at the bottom to show off his legs to perfection. Even when working out, Tony Stark was the epitome of style.
“If I beat you to the other side of the course, you have to dance to a song of my choosing. Right here, in front of everyone.” He gestured expansively to include the staff and their crowd of watchers, all of whom had their phones out to catch the play by play of the Stark-Barnes date.
Bucky’s browed furrowed. “I don’t dance.”
“Exactly,” Tony replied, a smirk twisting his lips. “Don’t worry, I’ll take the same bet. You’ll get me to perform anything you want if you win.”
Bucky looked over the course again, knowing that he could easily make his way across without even breaking a sweat. It would be unfair, but even as he silently acknowledged the fact of his physical advantage, he couldn’t help but think of having the snarky genius dance like a chicken in front of their hordes of admirers.
That would be a photo highlight worth saving.
“Fine,” he agreed, already tasting his victory. “I’ll take the bet.”
They lined up at the starting point, a staff member at the beginning with a stopwatch to time them and another standing at the end, ready to declare the winner the moment someone reached the finish line.
The one at the start line, nametag marked Sarah, raised a paper towel in mimicry of a checked flag. “3, 2,1, GO!” The towel dropped and they were off.
Bucky launched himself on the first obstacle, slanted braces that were spaced a foot away from each other on opposite sides. Shifting his weight, he skipped from one side to the next like an intense game of hopscotch and jumped forward to the net. Scaling its rough surface quickly, he pulled himself up and over and made his way to the next part, a wall that he made his way across by shimmying sideways and using the handholds provided.
It came to a tiny ledge at the end and he stood balanced in a crab-like squat, angling his body and propelling it upward to grab the bar hanging from the top of the obstacle course cage.  Using his momentum to trapeze swing forward, he reached out and grab the rope when it came into reach, Tarzaning his way to the platform that led to the next obstacle.
Pausing there for a bare moment, he looked back to see where Tony was. He hadn’t gone through the obstacles as easily as Bucky, but he was still determinably keeping up. Bucky watched as he swung back and forth on the bar to build up the momentum for the leap, adjusting for his shorter height so he wouldn’t fall short of reaching the rope.
Not looking to see if he made it, Bucky stepped forward on the tire swings. balancing on its ridiculous bumpy ride to move from one to the other. He got into the swing of it, making sure to soar forward and leapt before one tire hit the other and sent them both careening in opposite directions.
Halfway through, he heard clanking from above and looked up to see Tony, who instead of following the path of the course, had decided to use the rope to pull himself up to the ceiling of the cage. He weaved along the bars, moving quickly across them in a feat of frightening agility.
Bucky swore when Tony moved past him, speeding up and outright leaping from the last tire to the next platform that preceded the rope walk. They were neck and neck at this point, but Tony leapt from up top a split second before Bucky, reaching ground and beating him.
“You cheated,” Bucky accused.
“Did I though?” Tony grinned unrepentantly, taking a long drink from his water bottle and savouring his win. “The deal was that whoever made it to the other side of the course first was the winner. I didn’t say anything about having to make it through all the obstacles.”
“That’s c h e a t i n g,” Bucky emphasized slowly, wanting to shake the genius now that the reality of his being duped sunk in.
“Eh, potato, potahto. Now,” Tony rubbed his hands together gleefully and pulled out his phone, “time for the penalty.”
“Okay, Stark,” Bucky said, striding over to Tony and grabbing his phone out of his hand, “I’ll dance for you. But since you cheated, I’m choosing the music.” Tony tried to snatch his phone back, but Bucky simply held him back with the metal hand and pushed him away.
Tony grimaced, “Way to suck all the fun out of it, Elsa.” But he didn’t protest as Bucky choose the song and asked the mobile version of JARVIS to play it through the speakers of the park.
“Trust me, Tony, I’ll make sure you enjoy yourself,” Bucky whispered the last bit in Tony’s ear as he pulled him in close, arm braced against Tony’s back and the other grasping his in a firm hold.
As if on cue, the opening strains of Dean Martin’s “Sway” started filtering through the park, the dramatic flourishes at the beginning matching the shift in Bucky. His posture tensed in preparation and his eyes hooded, intense focus directed utterly on Tony.
“You know how to tango?” Tony asked, shocked, as he was pressed into Bucky’s body, feet between each other neatly as if they were meant to be this close always.
“Don’t you?” Bucky challenged and unable to resist, Tony let his lessons from long ago take over his body, letting Bucky hold his body close while they fought for ground in the seductive dance.
He let Bucky direct him, but he made sure that he was just as an active participant. If Bucky spun him, he let his hands slide across the breadth of his chest. If Bucky moved him across the floor in a smooth sway, he leaned his head close as if to press a kiss to his lips before letting his body twist into an artful bend.
Pulling away briefly, Tony let his body fall into a kneeling dip, not resisting when Bucky knelt behind him and his arms came back around Tony, skin touching skin when their movement dragged his shirt upward exposed Tony to the warmth of Bucky’s hands.
Somewhere along the way, they lose all awareness of the staff around them, the crowd watching from the windows, everything but the press of their bodies together, the momentum of the spin. All that existed was the sound of the music that guided them, the crooning of Dean Martin mixed with guitar strings and violins.
They forget that it’s not real.

Whatever She Wants
Erik 'Dadmonger' Stevens x Black PlusSized Reader
Another #supersizedfic short. Requested by @kissmyafropuff. I hope you like it. ❤ Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Traffic was light for such a pretty day, only a few handfuls of cars littered the road. At least until you reached the other side of town. More cars seemed to appear out of thin air, but thankfully there wasn't enough for a traffic jam. The morning was going great, other than the fact that you'd been chosen as chauffeur for the day.
All Amari's idea, let Erik tell it.
"I can't believe this.." You mumbled under your breath with a chuckle, glancing into the rearview mirror. Looking back at the duo in the backseat. Erik and Amari both sang out to the music spilling from the radio, some upbeat song that you'd found yourself singing too as well.
Your little princess wanted to have a daddy/daughter day since she'd never gotten to go with you on one of your date nights. So Erik made her a promise that he'd take her on one.
You stood in the mirror that graced the wall by the door, smoothing a hand over your dress. Looking at the way it fit to your body, just how both you and Erik liked. "You look pretty mommy." Amari yelled happily, watching you from Erik's arms as he descended the stairs.
He smirked as he trailed his gaze over you, lowering to place Amari on her feet. "Absolutely amazing."
"That's what I told her.." Shuri stood from her relaxed position against the wall, smiling. She'd agreed to watch Amari for the night. "Just like I tell her every other date night."
Amari looked up at Erik, eyebrows furrowed in confusion just as his would. "What's bate night, baba?"
"Date night, princess.." He chuckled, squatting down to her. "It's the night that me and mommy dress up, and I take her where ever she wants."
Her little face lit up and she gasped. "Can we have a date night, baba? Peaseee.."
You and Shuri chuckled at her puppy eyes. Erik would always fall for those. He grinned. "Of course, princess."
Parking the car, you looked back at the duo. "We're he-"
"Uncle Shad!!" Amari yelled excitedly as Erik un-buckled her. Shad was short for Rashad, who'd been a friend of Erik's since his military days. Now, he owned a restaurant that was pretty popular. You smiled, getting out the car as Erik got out with her. She held his hand as you all walked up to the door.
"If it ain't Stevens and my two of my favorite ladies. Wassup, Mari?" Shad grinned, squatting down so that Amari could run over. Her replying with a happy 'Hey, Uncle Shad'. "What you up too, sunshine?"
"Me and baba are having a date. Right, baba?" She looked back to Erik with a smile.
Erik nodded, holding your hand. "That's right, princess. We doing whatever she wants today."
Shad smirked. "Anything you want, huh?" Amari nodded proudly, making Shad chuckle. "Then maybe we could let you try this new cake that we're serving, before you order. What you say?"
Amari nodded with a smile. "I like that idea."
You glanced at Erik who chuckled, shaking his head. "I don't know what's funny, Stevens. Cause you dealing with her until she's all sugared out." He cleared his throat and you smirked. Arching an eyebrow at him, you left him to follow Shad as he headed towards your regular table.
Once you all got settled, Shad had given both you and Amari a small piece of cake to taste. So you wouldn't ruin your appetite. He'd slid into the booth with y'all, making small talk as your food was being made.
"So who's idea was it for this day full of fun?"
You looked to Erik, making Shad laugh. He'd figured that. Eating another bite of cake, you covered your mouth as you spoke. "And had the nerve to make me the driver for the day. While they sit in the back and have their fun."
"Nawl, E. I know you ain't do sis like that?"
Erik slid a arm around your waist, hugging you closer to him. "I ain't doing her like that. I wanted to sit with her, but baby girl wanted me to stay in the back with her. It is a daddy/daughter date." You rolled your eyes at that, ignoring him when he opened his mouth for a bite of your cake. Instead tapping his chin and telling him to close his mouth because 'he'd be getting nothing sweet of yours for the day'.
That cracked Shad up.
When the food came and Shad disappeared to tend to his other customers, you'd all began eating. Erik shared his plate actually, him feeding Amari pieces of his smothered chicken and potatoes. She barely touched hers, nibbling a bit before she became interested in his plate. It sounded like something you'd do.
She soaked up his attention, talking to him and giggling. It was cute. They looked so much alike, it was surreal. Whenever they laughed at something she'd said, those matching set of dimples would appear and their shoulders would bounce. Animated.
Half an hour passed before you'd all decided to leave, taking Amari's leftovers in a box. And a few extra piece of the cake for yourself later. Shad hugged both you and Amari, giving Erik a handshake before he handed him a piece of cake for himself. A bit bigger than yours as he pat him on the shoulder with a sly 'since its the only thing sweet you're gonna get for today'.
The next two hours were dedicated to a trampoline park. Which let both Erik and Amari exert some of the energy they still managed to have, his idea to wear her out. They'd both ran off as soon as they slipped on the designated socks, heading into the nearly empty park. You'd followed behind soon after, finding them playing at the basketball section.
Then to the obstacle course.
Then to the balance beam.
Then to the dodgeball area.
You sat aside as they jumped around, perking up as Amari seemed to start to slow down. Erik scooped her up and that was your que to call it a day. He smiled as you all walked to the car, Amari laying her head on his shoulder. The car ride would do the rest.
By the time you all made it back home, Amari was fast asleep. She hugged her father's neck as he trailed behind you, up the steps and into the house. Her light snores accompanied the sounds of both your footsteps. Erik made his way up the stairs, heading to take Amari to her room.
You locked the door as his steps faded, yawning as you made your way to the kitchen. The light came on with a click, reflecting from the glossed countertops and stainless steel appliances. You rounded the island to get to the fridge, opening it and taking out a water bottle.
"Long day, huh.." Erik caught your attention, making you jump from its suddeness. Catching your hand to pull you closer. He chuckled, apologizing with a kiss to your forehead and a teasing 'I ain't mean to scare you'.
You giggled as he nibbled at your shoulder, inching to the bend of your neck. "Long as hell. We've been gone all day.. I almost forgot who Amari gets her energy from."
Erik laughed, hugging your waist and nipping at your sweet spot. He smirked as you wiggled from his hold. Though he stepped closer, licking his lips. "Which means that our princess is gonna sleep good tonight.. and her baba can finally give mommy some real good attention."
You bit your lip, looking up at him. "You know I like my attention.."
He smiled, dimples deepening as he trapped you between himself and the counter. His lips ghosting yours. "I know you do.."

be my valentine ch. 1
Happy Valentine’s Day!!! @you-get-to-exhale-now-cyrus For your valentine’s day gift I have written two chapters of a multi-chapter Valentine’s Day-centric fic (and I will of course be finishing and posting the rest of the chapters in due time, but, these two chapters are pretty long so I figured it works). Anyways, I hope you like it and happy Valentine’s day!!
A/N: takes place the two weeks before Valentine’s Day in their junior year. wonah. bandi. tyrus. a few curses. unedited but enjoy!!
Chapter 1: Put Your Hand in Mine
You know that I want to be with you all the time.
Jonah snaps the headphones over his ears and half closes his eyes, back against the bench. It’s a romantic song, too peppy for his current mood, but he can’t stop listening to it. He taps one foot against on the tiled floor while Grant students shove by each other.
Oh darling, darling, baby you're so very fine
You know that I won't stop until I make you mine
He’s so sick of love songs. Andi loves them: Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor and Beyonce. So maybe there’s a reason behind his newfound annoyance with sappiness on the radio. But this one keeps sticking in his head. Jonah imagines reaching out his hand and taking someone else’s. And for the first time in a very, very long time, the person holding his hand in his imagination isn’t Andi. And it’s not Amber, or Natalie, or anyone else.
As half of Grant high school shoves by him, Jonah pushes the headphones down around his neck. He can hear his heart pounding way-too-loudly in his chest, and there’s a continuous beat and song inside his head.
Until I make you mine
And all he can think is: just in time for Valentine’s Day.
————
“Driscoll, catch!” Andi ducks out of the way just in time for Buffy to catch the miscellaneous basketball team member’s thrown shoe. She stares at it in confusion, but Buffy just shoves it into her backpack, gives a quick wave of thanks to the girl sprawled out on the bench, and turns back to Andi.
“Eleanor took my shoe on accident,” she explains, but Buffy’s eyes have already moved on from this conversation. They drift upwards to the large pink banner strung across Grant’s entrance, which is currently being pinned up and decorated with paper heart chains. Andi doesn’t stop to consider how an extra shoe can be taken accidentally and instead gapes up at the poster.
“Since when do we have a Valetine’s Day Dance?” Andi asks.
As if summoned by the deity of high school cheesiness, Student Council president Kip Warren steps into their path. “Since you juniors started sucking at raising money for our prom.  We’re having a fundraiser dance—you buy candygrams and roses for people for three times the prices we bought them for. And we’re using that money to pay for a real prom, not one which you idiots scheduled in someone’s garage.” Kip storms away, and a lone senior—one of Amber’s friends—starts applauding.
“He’s way too salty. I heard that our student council planned a good prom but he’s just picky and annoying. Ugh,” Buffy says, glaring after him.
“And they’re probably spending more money on this dance then they’ll make from a few candygrams, honestly.” Andi bends over to grab a cardboard heart, which she reattaches to the wall.
“Cyrus is going to have a field day, though,” Buffy says. She looks curiously over at Andi. “Do you think you’ll go?”
Andi feels something rush through her: undeserved indignation, maybe, accompanied by an annoying blush she wishes would go away. “I mean… are you?”
“I would suggest the Good Hair Crew go, but you already know Cyrus is dedicating this night to his boy.” Buffy shrugs. “We could go together? Single and unattached?”
If Andi were eating cereal right now, she would choke. She hasn’t been to any date-requiring function since her year-long disaster of a breakup with Jonah. And now Buffy Driscoll had the audacity to stand in front of hear with her cheeks blushed dark and her eyelashes clipping her cheeks and ask her to the dance.
“I mean—sure! Maybe Amber could go with us too?”
“You don’t think Amber is going to ask Iris? I think she’ll finally get the nerve to do it. I should probably make a bet on it,” Buffy considers, digging for her wallet and frowning slightly.
“Maybe we should ask boys?” Andi counters, suddenly. Buffy glances up at her, and the look in her eyes could kill.
“Maybe I’ll ask Natalie. She’s cute.”
Andi can’t even respond to that. So she does what she learned best from her mother; she changes the subject.
“So, Buffy. What’d you think of the movie you and Cyrus saw?” Andi tilts her head, meeting Buffy’s eyes again. She thinks of the cheesy block letters glued to the Valentine’s Day Banner: Will you be our Valentine? February 14th at 7. Two weeks away.
Buffy knows this game, but Andi watches her play along. “Best Summer of My Life 2? It was alright. Not as good as the first one. The love story kind of sucked—classic girl meets bad boy trope.”
“Wish I could have seen it,” Andi says, adjusting the straps on her backpack.
“Yeah, well. How was Iris’s?”
Andi has a momentary flashback to Amber and Iris chucking Skyzone dodgeballs at her while shrieking filled the general vicinity. Somehow, Iris had been convinced to have a birthday at a trampoline place, and somehow, Amber had been coerced into going along with it.
“Horrifying.”
Buffy laughs uncomfortably, and Andi can hear the nonexistent joke fall flat. How long has it been like this? How long has the Good Hair Crew been out of sync, and the tension between Buffy and Andi unbreakable?
Almost a year. Too long.
“Well, I’ve got Lit. See you later?” Buffy doesn’t bother waiting around for an answer to the question. She strides away, and it’s all Andi can do to avoid staring directly at the back of her head as she leaves.
“Ask Natalie,” Andi scoffs to herself, kicking at a spot on the ground. Cyrus would call her pettiness levels off the chart, but Andi doesn’t have any other way to react to Buffy. It’s not just the ever-rotating list of new girls; it’s Buffy’s obvious annoyance with Amber, it’s Buffy’s piercing eyes and sharp, true smile she hasn’t worn in so long. It’s Buffy’s acceptance of whatever is between them, while Andi flounders, trying to pretend she’s still in the waters of freshman year, when Jonah was her only problem.
When did the thoughts in her head get so complicated? Don’t answer that, she tells herself, because she already knows the answer. Andi lifts her phone from her pocket and starts absentmindedly scrolling through her old photos. There’s Cyrus and TJ sharing a milkshake with Buffy’s arms around them. There’s Amber trying on a faded leather jacket and Andi wearing a worn suit at the Thrift Store. Andi and her mom attempting gardening while Bowie laughed in their general direction. Buffy, Cyrus, and Andi holding on for dear life while ice skating two winters ago. Further back, there’s Jonah kissing Andi on the cheek, and Marty with his arm around Buffy and Andi with her arm around Jonah on some ridiculous double date. There’s a couple miscellaneous photos of Cyrus in his costume from the musical. And then, from about a year ago—
Andi’s cheeks color red. Red, like the sauce on Bex’s homemade pizza she recently learned to cook. Red, like the color of the Space Otters’ failed sophomore year uniforms. And she shuts her phone.
This is why it’s so hard to talk to Buffy. More than the color of her eyes or the defiance in her words, it’s the specific memory every time Buffy smiles at her. It’s the memory that’s controlling her.
Andi glances back at the Valentine’s Day banner, and sticks her tongue out just for good measure. She won’t let a stupid dance run by stupid Kip Warren control her too.
Then, from behind, a hand grabs her by the shoulder and starts dragging her backwards. Andi yelps, already running through the list of eight things she learned in self-defense class with Bex this summer. Quote: if you’re not a strong athlete your best hope is to hit where it hurts. Anywhere.” Andi is about ready to swing when the arm drags her into a closet and reveals the body attached to it.
“Cyrus?”
“Sorry,” he pants, as if the physical effort to kidnap her from the hallway was exhausting. “Top secret… information.”
“Oh?” Andi says, suddenly interesting. “Another cult?”
“Heck no,” Cyrus says. “I’ve got a plan for Valentine’s Day, for TJ. But I wanted to run it by you and Buffy first. And probably Jonah too.”
Andi starts to smile, leaning back against the shelves on the wall. “Spill.”
“Well… since his big game is on Valentine’s Day…” Cyrus leads in, unable to contain his grin.
“Go on.”
“I was thinking… we could all go… and hold up signs—“
“Signs for TJ! Valentine’s Day signs?!” Andi puts a hand over her mouth. “Cyrus, that’s adorable. No, it’s perfect!”
“Yeah, and I’d ask him to the dance, and we’d go afterwards, and hopefully he won his big game, and then the dance would be super romantic, and he could take the signs home and hang them up on the walls of his room, and we’d take polaroids before the dance in our suits, and you guys would be there—“ “Thought about it much?” Andi cuts in, but her lips curl upwards with excitement. The mention of the dance is the only sour bit—Andi doesn’t need that subtle reminder that she’ll never know how to not be awkward with Buffy about it. She’ll never know how to articulate what she wants, so she’ll be stuck watching TJ and Cyrus and maybe Buffy and Natalie or some other random girl get their perfect Valentine’s Days.
“Well, maybe a little. Anyways, do you like?”
Andi breaks out of her thoughts. “I don’t like, I love. When do we make the signs?”
“This weekend maybe? To be ready by that Friday?”
“You got it, Cyrus. Text Buffy, she’ll be thrilled.”
Cyrus narrows his eyes. “She will not. I’m betting she doesn’t want to help with the signs, so it might just be you and me.”
“Aw, Buffy’ll help if you ask her.” TJ and Buffy don’t fight anymore, but it suffices to say that they’re not exactly best friends.
“I’m already asking her to hold up one of the signs. And especially if she ends up with a crucial word—for example, Valentine—I can’t risk losing her support. I’ll just ask her about that and see how it goes.”
Andi smiles. “You and TJ have been dating for a year now, Cyrus.” Strange. A lot happened a year ago. “I’m sure she’ll be happy to hold up a sign. She just might not cheer for him.”
Cyrus nods, laughing a little. He types out a text on his phone to Buffy, sends it, then looks back up at Andi, looking a little panicked. “Should I tell Jonah? I need him to hold up the sign that says TJ. I don’t think he’s busy that weekend, the Otters don’t have a game—“ “Text him,” Andi reassures  Cyrus. He nods and types out the text while still looking up at her.
“I need Buffy, Jonah, you, and Amber. I’ll text Amber and Jonah tonight.”
“You’re asking TJ’s sister to help with his Valentine’s Day ask?” Cyrus and Amber have been friends since middle school, and it’s still hard for Andi to wrap her head around sometimes that Cyrus is dating the brother of one of Andi’s closest friends and is additionally friends with her. It’s the type of friendship that thrives off drama, and Andi has a feeling that even if Cyrus and TJ break up (which it seems like they never will), Amber and Cyrus will be close until the ends of the earth.
“Of course. Who else was I supposed to ask? Walker?” Cyrus asks, giving Andi a look. It’s a group-acknowledged truth that Andi drove Walker from the group, even if Buffy was the last one who dated him. Walker hasn’t hung out with them for a year and a half now, except maybe a few times with Jonah. Andi misses him and his lovely creativity, but she doesn’t miss the drama he brought; Buffy was happier with Marty than with him, but then she was happier by herself than with Marty. Andi blinks slowly, realizing how this topic has made its way back to her again.
“Amber will be fine,” Andi assures, her mind not really on Cyrus or TJ. “You think she’ll finally get the guts to ask out Iris?”
Cyrus shrugs. “I hope so. Who are you going with, anyways? Not Jonah—“
“No.”
A pause.
“Jonah is my friend, yes. But I’m done being romantic with him.” Andi stops, because the words sound harsh, even if they are true. “Buffy and I are just gonna go together, like old times.”
Cyrus smiles a half smile, because old times would include him too. And all three of them know that they’ve moved on from old times. Maybe Andi the most. And yet.
“I’m gonna go find TJ now. Keep the plan under wraps, ‘kay? Friday afternoon we can pick out supplies?” “Glitter glue!” Andi says, and she can’t stop it from coming out like a squeal. “Count me in.”
Cyrus steps out, the brightness of his phone lighting up the dim closet, and leaves Andi alone, still against the wall.
Alone.
In the closet.
Andi nearly throws her phone across the room.
————
There are three parks in downtown Shadyside: the tiny one off the elementary school, the Valley Park where legend says a swamp monster lives, and Agley Park. Agley is where coffee shop people go to be in nature; it’s also, incidentally, Walker’s favorite place in town. The Saturday morning is crisp, with light winter fog in the air, and Agley looks like the rolling fields and forests of some picturesque Scottish village. The only piece of color barring the serenity is the hunk of metal in the middle of one of the squares; that hunk of metal, though, is what has drawn Walker downtown this early on a Saturday.
“It’s kind of… underwhelming?”
Walker ignores the voice to his right and keeps reading the printed plaque beneath the statue. Installed four weeks ago, reads the monotone font, the Rest of Infinity display serves as a reminder to all viewers of the eternity of space and its never-ending mystery. The 20-foot tall sculpture contains seventeen rotating pieces and thousands of tiny gears. The reflective paints were mixed by the artist herself, and the glass portions were blown by her as well. Walker is aching to reach for a sketchbook and draw it, but he promised himself that this time he would just look. So he does.
After a while, the same voice cuts in. “So maybe I’m starting to see why Cyrus can be such a science nerd sometimes…”
Walker looks over his shoulder at Amber Kippen, who is wearing a faux leather skirt and carrying a latte. They were in the same studio class—much to Walker’s chagrin at first, who had found Amber’s eclectic, relaxed approach to art to be flighty. But when Amber’s realism came out looking like a photographic negative, and when her paints were soft pastels that fit perfectly into her nature theme, then Walker decided to give up on judging before he knew things.
And now, lo and behold, Walker and Amber were visiting an art exhibition outside of school. Together. For fun.
“I really like the colors on the back few layers,” Walker says finally, and his voice sounds gravelly from lack of use. “And the way the black pieces spiral to infinity first, with the smaller pieces following behind.”
Amber nods, and Walker notes that she’s not really listening. “Do yo know who would love this?”
“Yeah?” Walker does know, because there’s only ever one right answer. But he holds off.
“Iris.”
Amber’s eyes get dreamy when she’s talking about Iris, her crush of many a year. Walker recognizes the look because it’s the look he used to see on Andi’s face when talking about Jonah. Buffy’s face when talking about Marty. The faces of people in love with someone else, not him.
“I’m sure she would, Her photography project is so cool, maybe she could take pictures of the statue—“
“I think I need to ask her to the dance,” Amber says suddenly. “It’s now or never, right? Senior year will be too late. It’s got to be now.” “What dance?”
Amber looks shocked, offended, horrified, embarrassed—everything on the list—that Walker is unaware of said dance. “Uh, Grant’s Valentine’s Day Dance. On account of the fact that Kip Warren and the dance team girls want prom to not be in someone’s basement this year. But Iris!”
Walker considers this, as they start to walk away from the statue and back toward Amber’s car. He listens to Amber’s list of reasons: “We texted all last night, and she ended with a heart, not me. We’ve held hands twice and been to four movies alone together. Her eyes are the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen, and her bangs are so nice and her smile…”
In his head, Walker wants to make a comparison to something he’s feeling for another person. But he won’t let himself. Pretty eyes…hanging out alone together. His breath is catching, and Amber’s voice fades a little in the background. And that dance…
“Walker? Walker!” Startled out of a daydream, Walker feels Amber’s arm in front of his chest and suddenly sees the curb drop away in front of him. “Absent-minded much?”
“Call it an artist’s trait,” Walker says dizzily. He can’t stop thinking about the crush—shit, a crush—and it’s like the world is falling to pieces. It can’t be real, not over one movie and an air hockey game and a couple walks home from school. Maybe if he doesn’t think it, then it won’t be real.
“Walker.” Amber’s statement pulls him completely back to the surface, where he faces Amber’s scrutinizing gaze. “Are you going to ask anyone to the dance?”
Oh no. Walker opens his mouth to say something, and then doesn’t. They keep walking, but Amber’s eyes are staring him down with all the intensity she used to have as Grant’s resident mean girl. It’s the look she gets when she sees something she wants—or wants to know—and will do anything to get it.
“Um.”
“Um? Don’t give me that, Walker Brodsky. I spill my guts to you about Iris regularly. Now it’s your turn: who’s your crush?”
Walker blushes, reaching above his head to tug on a tree branch. “Amber, I—“
There’s a small voice in Walker’s head, and it’s trying to overcome the wave of anxiety he has about this situation. The voice is saying: Amber will understand.
Amber, who came out as lesbian when she was a freshman in high school. Amber, who goes to the LGBT alliance and activism meetings on a regular basis and cites it as her most important extracurricular, even more than dance or studio. Amber, who cries while listening to Heaven by Troye Sivan. Amber, who is staring at him right now with her Annabeth Chase-esque gray eyes and inquisitorial eyebrow raise. Amber, who has dated—
“Jonah.”
Amber doesn’t miss a beat, but Walker is already dizzy from the weight of the word.
“Jonah! Of all the people at school, you chose Mr. Heartbreak himself?”
“Um.”
Jonah is Mr. Heartbreak, isn’t he? Walker thinks of Andi, and the disaster that was the final six months of her and Jonah’s relationship. Jonah, who Andi always like more than him. Jonah Beck, who Walker first met at the art gallery, and then at the color factory, and then at canoeing. A couple months ago Walker ran into Jonah outside the skate shop, and they ended up making plans to see a movie in town they both wanted to see. Then, Walker started seeing Jonah more at school, and they were partners on a Bio assignment. The events keep spilling over themselves in his mind, and Walker feels two things: one, feelings. A crush. Like he had on Andi. The second thing is what has been washing over him for months and what kept him from telling Amber in the first place: he’s scared.
“Yeah,” Walker says, just to affirm it. “I like Jonah.” And there it is, again, the feeling in his chest of relief and anxiety all at once.
Amber nods as the rolling park ends and she clicks her key fob in the general direction of her station wagon. “Okay. Well, considering I’ve dated him, I’m probably authorized to give some advice—“
“No, Amber. He’s not even into guys; there’s no use thinking about it.” Walker slides into the passenger seat and takes out his phone from the glove box to start typing out notes about the statue.
“Walker, you never know. I mean, he’s never said that he does like boys, but he’s never said that he doesn’t—“
“That’s useless,” Walker says, keeping his eyes trained on his phone. “He’s straight, whatever. Let’s go home.” “Don’t play this card. You’re not the first person to fall for someone who you think is straight, and you won’t be the last, not by a long shot. Guess what? Jonah hasn’t said that he’s straight. So you have a chance. Don’t waste it.” Amber’s voice gets quiet at the end, as the grips the wheel of the still-parked car. Walker thinks of Iris, and he sees the pain of pining in Amber’s eyes.
“Hey,” he says softly. “You can’t give up either.”
She shakes her head. “Yeah, whatever.” She sounds just like Walker did moments ago, but Walker doesn’t push.
“So…do you still want to give me some advice on Jonah Beck?”
Amber starts to laugh, and she reaches across to give him a shove. “Of course, Walker Brodsky. Of course.”

“Heads up!”
Buffy runs in anyway and snags the rebound away from TJ. She brings the ball back to the top of the key, eyebrows poised in challenge, and checks the ball to him. Then she pounds it into the floor, slipping beside TJ to get in an easy layup.
“That’s 18 to 17,” Buffy pants as TJ sets it back up.
“Careful, Driscoll, don’t get too confident,” TJ warns, crossing the ball to take a shot from just inside the three-point line. The ball circles the rim, achingly close to the net, but rolls back out and sinks to the court.
“Missed me, missed me, now you got to—“ TJ interrupts Buffy’s taunt with a shove, and Buffy laughs as she grabs the ball and shoves it back into his hands.
“I will not,” TJ says, “allow you to complete that sentence.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Buffy laughs. “Don’t worry, I have no interest.”
“Good,” TJ asserts, and his next shot is nothing but net.
Three points later and Buffy has won the game, but they don’t keep score, shockingly. One-on-one has become a daily occurrence after their respective practices, because TJ has to wait for rehearsal to end to drive Cyrus home anyways. Cyrus tried to convince him that he could just go home on the late bus, but TJ has insisted.
“Ready for next Friday?” Buffy asks, once they’re done playing and are just dribbling around.
“I hope,” TJ says, chucking the ball up with zero regard. Buffy catches it and looks over at him.
“You better be ready for Valentine’s Day. I know Cyrus is excited.”
TJ does a double take, and Buffy laughs like she’s caught him unaware. “Well, yeah I’m ready for Valentine’s Day. Or I will be. But the game—“ “Screw the game,” Buffy says, and drives the basketball into the ground. “I mean—sorry. Screw my game, not yours.”
“What’s up? How’s the team doing?” TJ holds his hands out, and she throws it at him. He’s always tried to be somewhat lenient towards Buffy in her captaining, because he knows it must be hard carrying the girls basketball program on her shoulders. When they came to Grant, Buffy had to leave behind her newly-founded middle school team for a program that’s only improvement on Jefferson’s was the fact that it was school-mandated. The past few years Buffy has been constantly trying to mend a rivalry with Kira while simultaneously attempting to take the team to the next level.
“We’re doing alright. But we’ll be playing teams in the region tournament that have AAU girls and are state-ranked. I don’t want to get eliminated in the first round, but that looks like what we’ll be getting. And I’m trying to deal with Kira, but I really can’t—“ Buffy stops.
TJ shakes his head. “You can’t be so hard on yourself, Buffy. Regionals is a hard tournament, and it’s okay if you guys—“
“No! It’s not,” Buffy shouts, and her eyes flash. TJ steps back, because this is starting to feel too much like middle school. “I have to do well, and you don’t get to talk to me like that. Why don’t you talk to me like you would a teammate—“ Buffy stops.
TJ knows some people think Buffy can be harsh, but she’s harder on herself than she is on anyone else. The thing about being friends with her is never knowing exactly how to handle it. If Cyrus were here, he would know, but Cyrus is onstage pretending to be Lysander from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
“If you were my teammate, I would tell you to stop worrying and play the game. It goes how it goes. And I’d tell you to get along with Kira. You have to,” TJ says.
“Yeah,” Buffy breathes. “Sorry. Now pass me the ball.”
TJ obliges, and she dribbles in for a layup. He doesn’t know if he handled it right; but, he did something. Which is better than nothing. Now back to the matter at hand.
“So, Driscoll,” he calls. “What else has Cyrus said about Valentine’s Day?”
“That’s not for me to tell,” Buffy shrugs, starting to smile. “But I hope you’re taking him to the dance.”
“Uh, what kind of boyfriend do you think I am? Of course we’re going.”
“Alright, good,” Buffy says, taking a jump shot.
“And,” TJ says, excitedly, “It’ll actually be fun. We’ve got the games, which everyone is coming to, and then the dance in the gym. Cyrus is coming over after, and we’re going to bake cookies and watch a movie—“ “Okayyy, I do not need to hear about your big date,” Buffy cuts in. TJ bites the insides of his cheeks so she won’t blush, because he had been planning a sort of date with Cyrus. But Buffy doesn’t need to know that. “But you’re right, it’ll be sweet. If your idea of romance is dancing in a sweaty gym in the dark.” TJ, who had been jogging back from the ball rack where he put away the basketball, stops to put his hands on his hips. “While you may be a cynical human being, Cyrus is a romantic—“
“So are you, TJ Kippen, don’t even try.”
“I refuse to acknowledge that statement. Buffy, you must come to the dance. It’s a part of the high school experience: the big game and then the sweaty prom.”
“Sweaty prom.”
“Sweaty prom!” TJ yells and does a spin around the gym. It’s exhilarating, he thinks, to have caring friends and a team he love to be on and a boyfriend who likes him back and has for over a year. And speaking of said boyfriend—
Cyrus enters the gym, and they both hear his hard-soled theater shoes from across the room.
“Cyrus!” Buffy shouts, and runs over to him. TJ follows. “Save me from TJ, he’s trying to force me to go to… wait for it… the dance!”
Cyrus snorts, and swings his drawstring bag over his shoulder. “TJ, are these accusations trustworthy?”
“Very,” TJ says, pulling in Cyrus under his arm.
“In that case, I support them. Buffy, we need you to go the dance! Who else will ridicule their music choices and teach Gus how to do the cha cha slide?” “First of all, the instructions are in the song. Second of all—“ Buffy’s phone dings from inside her pocket, and she stops immediately to check it. TJ raises his eyebrows at her as she frowns at the tiny screen, then stops frowning and smiles a tiny bit. TJ runs through in his mind who it could’ve been—not Marty, who Buffy parted with freshman year. He shrugs it off—a mystery for another time.
“Got to go,” Buffy says, and rushes off to the locker room.
“Buffy,” Cyrus calls, then shakes his head. “She’s been weird lately. I’m not sure what’s up.”
TJ nods absentmindedly, then turns to Cyrus. “How was rehearsal?”
Cyrus’s eyes go wide. “Some freshman dropped a set piece on Amber and she broke her pinky!”
“WHAT.” TJ feels his voice get quiet.
“Yeah, it’s okay though, it’ll be healed in two weeks. Show isn’t for another month. She said it feels fine.” “Fucking—sorry, fricking—freshman. Idiots, all of them,” TJ says, pulling Cyrus by the hand over to the bleachers so he can grab his bag.
“Can’t argue with that,” Cyrus shrugs, and they start to head to TJ’s car.  “Oh, and Amber told me to tell you she’s staying out late tonight, so don’t wait up for her.”
“She’s going out with a broken pinky?”
“She’s got a tiny cast; she’ll be alright.” TJ squints, unconvinced. “Anyways, how was your practice?”
TJ pulls Cyrus against his side. “The usual, you know. You’re bringing the whole gang out to the games on the 14th, right?”
He nods and wraps his arm around TJ’s waist. “I can’t wait.” Then he does that Cyrus-smile: with his lips upturned to his cheeks, and his eyes intense. “It’s Valentine’s Day too, you know,” he says sweetly.
“Oh, trust me,” TJ says. He puts both his arms on Cyrus’s shoulders and pulls him into a kiss. “I know.” Cyrus blushes when he pulls away, and TJ spins him towards the car.
“Movie tonight?” Cyrus asks. TJ bites his lip, then shakes his head.
“I wish. I’ve got precalc homework which is going to take me approximately four hours,” TJ says, slipping into the drivers’ seat. “Ms. Walters is evil, I swear.”
“I’ll be sending good luck in your direction,” Cyrus says as he buckles his seatbelt. TJ drives to Cyrus’s house, and on the way they listen to Billie Eilish and discuss the day’s events, their feelings towards pineapples, and Degrassi, their show. By the time TJ pulls into Cyrus’s driveway, it’s gotten dark and Cyrus’s eyelids are slipping closed. TJ smiles over at him and bops his nose with his index finger. Cyrus blinks awake, focuses on the house, and smiles a sleepy smile. Struck, as he is daily, by how cute Cyrus is, TJ leans across the seat and kisses him. Cyrus takes TJ’s hand, squeezes it, and tumbles out the door with his bags.
“See you tomorrow, underdog!” Cyrus turns to wave back at him, and TJ can still see the soft smile on his face.
As he drives away, TJ stops at the intersection that breaks off back to the Kippen house, and he takes a left instead of a right. He thinks about Cyrus’s excitement over Valentine’s Day and the dance as he pulls into the Target parking lot. Cyrus Goodman, he thinks, his own smile filling his features, you deserve the world.

Date Alphabet
Drake x MC
Summary: Okay, so I saw a few NSFW alphabet things floating around, and I wanted you make one with cute date nights that the LI and MC would go on.
Notes: I don’t own any of the characters.
Rating: Some NSFW moment in here, but they aren’t too descriptive.
Tumblr media
• A: Arcade: Imagine sneaking off with Drake to an arcade after a long day of being surrounded by nobles. Drake would win as many tickets as he could to try to win you the biggest, and cheesiest, stuffed animal. When he doesn’t get enough tickets, he buys it for you. Then the two of you go and get ice cream before going back to the palace.
• B: Bubble Bath: After a long and stressful day, you head back to your room. You find a note taped to the door of the bathroom that reads “I’m sorry you had such a terrible day, so I hope you like this.” You open the door and find Drake, in the bathtub, surrounded by candles. You slip into the bath with him, and he massages your shoulders (and some other areas.)
• C: Camping: Drake would surprise you with a camping trip. It’s a nice getaway after going camping with his father so much when he was a kid. The two of you would cuddle by the campfire and make some s’mores. You’d joke about how he looked so much like a Boy Scout, but even though he seemed agitated, he kinda liked it. The two of you would lay on the ground, your head on his chest, and the two of you would tell stories to each other.
• D: Drive-In Movie: Drake had never been to a drive- in movie, so you decided to surprise him. You talked to some people, and you got a faint white sheet to go over the doors of the palace to be used as a screen. You also rented trucks and lined up them up on the circle driveway so other royals could join you. Drake would be surprised, and the two of you would cuddle in the bed of the truck, surrounded by cheap movie theater food, blankets, and pillows.
• E: Escape Room: You And Drake decided to test your team work skills by doing an escape room. The theme was two forbidden lovers get separated by a crown, and the peasant gets locked up. He is trying to escape jail to save his love from marrying a man she doesn’t love. The two of you work together well and breakout.
• F: Flip, Slip, or Strip: The two of you came up with the idea to play Flip, Slip, or Strip. You’d ask Drake a question, and if he answered it, he wouldn’t have to drink the whiskey. If he didn’t want to answer it, he’d either drink or take off an article of clothing. For a while, the two of you answer the easy questions or drink, but after a while of this, you two end up naked and in bed together.
• G: Go-Karting: Drake texts you and tells you to meet him outside the front of the palace. You go outside, and see a go-kart. Another one pulls up to the parked one. Drake takes off the helmet, and you can’t help but check him out in his driver’s getup. The two of you race for a while, and Maxwell, Hana, and Liam join you eventually.
• H: Helping Savanah: While this seems more like babysitting to you, Drake likes any excuse to pull you away from the group. You like to watch how great he is with kids, even if he was scared of his nephew at first. He likes to watch you care for people, which is part of why he loves you so much.
• I: Ice-Skating: After an extremely cold couple of weeks, the lake on the palace grounds had frozen over. You managed to pull Drake outside, even though he hates the cold. He is very shaky on the ice, but you wrap his arms around you and help him. Your back is turned, and you don’t see the edge of the lake. Drake can’t stop, and he falls on top of you in the snow, where he then proceeds to kiss you. The two of you head inside for hot chocolate after that.
• J: Junk Food: There are a lot of American foods, such as cronuts. You collect or make a bunch of American food for Drake to try. You also get a few cheesy teen movies or iconic oldies for the two of you to watch together. You surprise Drake and watch Dirty Dancing first. “You want to dirty dance?” He asks, and you then straddle his lap. “Whatever you say Patrick Swayze.”
• K: Kick-Boxing: After the attempt on your life, Drake has been more protective of you then he usually is. He forces you to do a kick-boxing lesson so you can defend yourself. The trainer ends up pairing you two together for a practice fight. Drake ends up on top of you and you make a joke. You lean up and kiss him, which distracts him long enough for you to flip him over.
• L: Laser Tag: It’s been a while since either of you have gone to laser tag, so you both decided to go. Drake and you would be the only two there and it’d get very competitive. You’d loose him and hide behind a wall. Drake would come up behind you and push your back to the wall. He’d kiss you deeply, you lowering your gun. He’d pull back and shoot you. “I win,” he’d smirk. You say it was unfair, but then he’d kiss you again.
• M: Mini Golf: The two of you had never really been a big fan of golf like the rest of the royals. You thought it was boring to watch and/or play, and Drake hated the outfits. You both decided to go to mini golf. You’d get to a hole near a little pond, and Drake grabbed you by the waist and pulled you into the water. The two of you ended up soaking wet, and you got kicked out.
• N: New York City: Drake has been wanting to see more of New York City, since that’s where your from. You take him one day. You show him the Statue of Liberty, Time Square, and Central Park. You also take him to China Town. He was really excited just to be there with you and learn more about you.
• O: Open Mic Night: You And Drake usually snuck off to open mic night at a local bar to make fun of the people who were so beyond drunk, they didn’t know what they were doing. You both knew it was rude, but somehow, it helped you both. This week was different, however. You got up on the stage and sang “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis. You even dedicated it to Drake.
• P: Photography: Drake has never really been a big fan of getting his picture taken, but he loves to take pictures of you. He takes pictures when you’re not paying attention and when you are. He surprises you one morning with a box full of Polaroids he made of you. Each one had a date wrote on the bottom of it. They go back to the day you met.
• Q: Quiz Night: The two of you make a list of questions to ask each other. If you get the answer to their question wrong, then you drink. You and Drake go through two bottles of Whiskey easily. Drake looses his shirt at some point throughout the game. You ask Drake what his biggest fear is. He replies “You.” Pure confused, but he adds on with “I’m scared that one day you’ll look in the mirror and see yourself like I see you. Then you’ll realize that you can do better than me... I’m terrified that you’ll leave me.”
• R: Roller Skating: You’re walking downstairs at the palace when you see roller skates sitting on the steps. A little note is beside them. “Catch me if you can. -Drake”. You slip on the skates and begin looking for Drake. You round a corner and run into Drake, but he catches you. “Hey, do you want to mess with Bertrand?” You ask. The two of you then go screw with Bertrand.
• S: Scuba Diving: After finding out how important ocean fishing is to Drake, you decided to surprise him with a scuba diving trip. Drake loved doing this. He appreciated you wanting to know more about his family. He also didn’t mind seeing you in a wetsuit. Drake also cracked a joke about how his suit didn’t hide much. Later on, the two of you honored his father by catching and grilling some fish that you caught.
• T: Trampoline Park: Drake has only heard of these, but he’d never been to one. It was nice for the two of you to get away from all the royalty and be normal adults for a day. Drake and you played dodgeball together, and when he accidentally hit you in the face he felt so bad and took care of you, even thought you insisted you were fine. Later on, he hit his head on the bottom of the basketball hoop at the dunking station, and you took care of him.
• U: Unique (your og idea): You and Drake play messy Twister in the palace garden. You both get paint all over each other, but neither of you care. Drake uses the game as an excuse to get close to you. Eventually the two of you end up on top of each other and paint is in places it shouldn’t be. The two of you hose down out back before heading inside.
• V: Valentine’s Day: Drake would suprise you by making you pancakes and some other food for breakfast in bed. He’d also give you a dozen roses. Then, the two of you would watch some romantic comedies for the rest of day in bed. At one point, you get up and go to the bathroom. You change into some lingerie. Drake and you spend the rest of the night rolling around in bed together.
• W: Whiskey: You and Drake would steal the most expensive bottle of whiskey from the kitchen and take it up to your room. You’d both just have a nice conversation for a while until you finished the bottle. You’d make out and then go to bed because you stayed up till two in the morning.
• X: X-Rated: You And Drake would go out to dinner and sit across from each other. Don’t worry, there’s a table cloth. You’d run your foot up his leg to tease him. In return, he’d run his hand up your leg. You’d be sneaky and slip off your underwear. You wouldn’t even order food before Drake took you back to the car. He’d drive you to an empty area and do you in the backseat.
• Y: Yoga: You love to do yoga, and Drake was never into it. After hearing you’d be wearing tight clothes, he’d change his mind and come. He’d try to do one of the positions, but you’d have to help him. Eventually, he’d give up. You would both make jokes about how flexible you are, and he’d say that yoga was why you were so good in bed.
• Z: Zoo: You And Drake would go to the zoo early one morning so you would get to see all new animals. He make sure you saw your favorite animals, and he even got a few backstage things lined up so you could pet some animals. You’d like to hold a snake, and Drake would be fearful because he’s scared of snakes. However, you would show him it’s safe and he’d eventually pet it.
