June 13th, 2010 - October 18th, 2023
It is with a heavy heart and immense sadness that I let you all know my sweet baby boy Leonard passed away this morning. He was 13 and a half years old, which is the oldest German Shepherd I've ever known. He was happy and healthy until about a week ago when he took a turn. He was surrounded by love, affection, and his favorite foods right up until the end. Just yesterday he was eating his favorite treats.
He lived over a year longer than the vet predicted and I am so so glad to have had that extra time with him. He's my little engine that could.
Leonard was my silly little guy, a friendly goofball that never failed to make me smile. He was fiercely protective too, despite his friendly appearance he was a powerful defender.
I am going to miss him so so much. There is a hole in my heart exactly his size. My only solace is he can be with his brother now, they were always inseparable when Vincent was alive.
Goodbye, my baby boy.

One of the biggest things that makes me see Leo as trans is absolutely the size of his carapace in comparison to his brothers’.
And I’m not talking about height! I’m specifically looking at his shell here, because when you compare him to the others, particularly Donnie who is nearly the same height as Leo, it’s very clear that Leo’s carapace is much longer in proportion to the rest of his body.
Like - standing side by side, even though Donnie is shorter his carapace ends noticeably higher up than Leo’s does. And I like this not only because it really helps push the idea that Leo could very likely be trans (or intersex!), but it’s also just a fun design difference between them.
(It also lends way to future scenarios of Donnie eventually getting taller than Leo, but sitting down still has Leo being the taller one haha.)

Idk if this is a hot take but why is it always “Kai slaved away and worked his ass off to raise his sister” and never the other way round or them working hard together?
Like, I know he’s older but in the show, does he really… act older? Like if you think about Kai and Nya’s dynamic yknow? Because from my understanding:
When Kai and Nya are introduced we see Kai fail at making a sword and Nya being the one to chide him for it. Kai makes an overconfident statement about wanting to be a better blacksmith than his father. This suggests that one, Kai is rather rash as well as inexperienced (something that lines up with the rest of his character arc in the pots and also generally), with Nya being the more mature figure in contrast
Also just a note but in the shorts: “I can handle it!” “No you can’t, stupid”
Kai frequently being very good at neglecting people or things: leaving Lloyd at an arcade whilst being focused on finding samurai x, not even knowing samurai x was Nya or that she only did it because she felt left out by him, completely abandoning both Nya and Lloyd in s3 (and Ik he was going through it at the time, but in line with the fandom’s characterisation of him)
Kai in season 5: “After I lost my dad, I lost my way. But I was lucky to have my sister watch over me”
Generally, their dynamic isn’t one where Kai really provides for Nya at all. In fact, judging by the fact that Nya can make entire mechs and Kai struggled to make a sword, Nya was probably busting her ass to provide for Kai. And judging by the s5 quote, that’s probably true. I’m not saying Nya raised Kai, it just rubs me the wrong way when she’s treated like a decorative flourish to a narrative that paints Kai as a burnt out child who was forced to grow up too soon especially since that is such a mischaracterisation of him in the first place.

i love the idea of zuko mirroring iroh as he grows up in that he becomes one of the people in the gaang that you can go to with your problems and he's going to EAT at giving advice
#i also love this because it subverts zuko's ultimate fear (becoming his father) and instead shows him at his very best#and i think one thing about zuko that i have always loved#is that he's genuinely a decent guy (peri/post redemption obvi but even....you know.....under all that brainwash too)#and as more people realize that. the more he gets to really show that off#like is he awkward with it? yeah. definitely. esp younger zuko#but he's also so GENUINE about it too#i'm thinking specifically about the beach ep when azula calls out mai's trauma#and zuko very sweetly without reading the room is like 'i love it when you express yourself <3'#like my guy you're an idiot but also my babie#this is also hilarious to me bc it parallels my kaz........KJNSKRJYNH#you can go to confession with the 'bad guy' and know he has no business judging you! #this tag is legit just me complaining so ignore it lol#but my shitty brother having a shitty gf and always disrespecting my boundaries about her always being over at our apartment#her not liking me or his friends that are also my friends is the biggest red flag if I’ve ever seen one#and her causing drama with my parents and them putting me in the middle between them and my sibling#not to mention they’ve all been so mean to me lately!#also my dad’s side of the fam has been showing their true colors with me suddenly being an 'adult' but yet still too naive to know anything#and my friends using me for ranting and nothing else! 🤩#and the guy I liked not even having the decency to tell me he’s not into me and just leaving me on seen#like what is up with people just being mean and rude???#my heart is literally breaking and being tap danced on and no one seems to care#I’m being a huge baby about it but i have feelings too#literally need to curl up into a ball with a heated blanket and cozy pjs and a bradley there to snuggle me and put all his weight on me#but alas! i’ll have to settle for a shitty throw blanket and my pjs ripping apart at the seams#god I just love it here!!!
