What if The Owl House was never delayed to 2020 and released in 2019 alongside Amphibia?
Tumblr media
In this alternate timeline, The Owl House wasn't delayed to 2020 and had aired in June 2019 alongside Amphibia, since the Disney executives who shortened the show weren't the same ones who greenlit it back in 2015.
Tumblr media
Also, the point of divergence (POD) is that all of the deleted scenes from each of the episodes were used and a fan-made episode "Nightmare Before Woe" was produced by Disney Television Animation in this timeline. The series also released a 44-minute Christmas special in December 2023.

Tinky Winkynos VS Everyone Season Two
Tumblr media
This is the Season Two of the conquests of Tinky Winkynos.
Tinky Winkynos has escaped and he menaces the different franchises universes again. He fights against a maximum of possible fictional characters from different franchises (it can be against entire franchises).
The action: Tinky Winkynos invades the targeted suggested franchise. You must vote for the side of your choice.
The rule: You can help him conquer or you can stand against him by voting.
The result at the end of the poll will decide the fate of the universe(s) issue of his conquest(s). If The Mad Teletubby wins with more 50% of votes, he succeeds his conquest. If the franchise (TV show, video game, movie, novel, etc) wins 50%, the invasion is repelled.
If you have a franchise to purpose as challenge, say it by message or commentary.

If I owned Doctor Who, Amphibia, The Owl House, The Ghost & Molly McGee, My Little Pony, She-Ra & the Princesses of Power, and Miraculous Ladybug
Oh boy, this is gonna be the mother of all long posts. It's gonna sound completely insane, but isn't crazy stuff what Tumblr is for? Anyway, to make it easier to read, I'll split it into different sections for each show.
Let's start with My Little Pony:
I would reboot the show, but instead of My Little Pony Generation 6, I would make a completely new show, just with (eventually) the same characters and locations. The new show would be called "The Complete History of the Queendom of Equestria", which is a very lofty title belying the really grimdark shit this show is gonna have.
Season 1: We are introduced to the continent of Equestria on the planet Equus, where the land is divided between the Earth Confederation (comprising of Nippony, Jolangmal, and the Ma Dynasty) and the Unicorn Empire while the Pegasus Republic rules the skies.
There is no clear main character as the season mainly focuses on ancient Equestrian history, specifically the invasion of Equestria by the Ram Horde and the reluctant alliance between the three factions to repel the invasion. The season ends with Gustolomule the Great (nicknamed Gusty by close aides) committing genocide against the Rams to defeat them.
Christmas special: The Story of Hearth's Warming, broadly similar to the one in G4, except some of the leaders' names, titles, and personalities are different than the ones portrayed by the Mane 6. The United Queendom of Equestria is founded (Equestria is explicitly shown to be a matriarchal society in this show).
Valentine's Day special: The Story of Hearts and Hooves Day, broadly similar to the one in G4, but the "dragon" at the end of the story is actually Discord, and the chaos from the prince and the princess neglecting their responsibilities is what causes him to come into existence and take over Equestria.
Season 2: The show finally gets main characters in the form of two orphans — a pegasus filly named Aurora (with a red coat and orange mane) and her adoptive unicorn younger brother Artemis (with the same color scheme as Princess Luna in MLP) — surviving in the midst of Discord's chaotic reign of terror.
The season revolves around their fight to defeat him, ending with their discovery of the Elements and Tree of Harmony and ascension as Prince and High Princess of a reestablished Queendom of Equestria, as well as them becoming alicorns after using the Elements.
Season 3: The first half of this season revolves around Aurora and Artemis trying to defeat a cult of ponies who helped and worshiped Discord and are now rebelling against the new order. In the process, they get their cutie marks: Aurora can move the Sun and Artemis can move the Moon.
At some point, Aurora and Artemis go back to the Tree of Harmony and meet the Spirit of Harmony (who just calls herself Harmony), who reveals the origin of the Tree as having grown from a seed that was magically formed from the Fire of Harmony on the first Hearth's Warming (so yeah, the Pillars just straight-up don't exist here) and tells them that she infused them with magic from all the tribes as a reward for defeating Discord to enable them to unite the populace.
In one story during this season, Tirek and his brother Scorpan arrive in Equestria to steal all their magic, so Artemis does what Starswirl did in MLP but Tirek escapes to the northern tundra instead of immediately getting locked in Tartarus.
The second half of the season is just a medieval political drama where hints are dropped towards the Season 4 premiere. There will also be an episode where Artemis comes out as a transgender mare and Aurora expresses her transphobic disgust, which will also be important in the next season.
Season 4: This season starts with Princess Amore declaring the establishment of the Crystal Empire, centered around the Crystal Heart, which was hinted at during the second half of season 3. She hosts a diplomatic summit in the capital city Arcadia to establish relations with Equestria and some other neighbouring nations, but while it seems to be going well at first, they are then attacked by Tirek and Sombra.
Tirek convinced Sombra to help him destroy Equestria in return for being able to rule over the Crystal Empire and Equestria, but Sombra backstabs him and sends him to Tartarus knowing full well Tirek was gonna backstab him and absorb his magic too. For the rest of the season, Sombra rapidly grows in power and invades Equestria from the north, similar to the Ram Horde thousands of years ago.
Meanwhile, Artemis and Aurora slowly grow colder and more professional in their interactions with each other. In the season finale, Sombra creates an evil spirit and sends it to possess Artemis during the heat of battle, but this isn't revealed until the next season.
Afterward, Artemis and Aurora defeat Sombra and do what Celestia and Luna did to him in MLP, ending the season. With the capital stuck in magical limbo and both of its former monarchs dead or otherwise incapacitated, the rest of the Crystal Empire falls into ruin, with refugees flooding into Equestria en masse.
Season 5: Some time after defeating Sombra, Aurora and Artemis have a big falling-out over Artemis' gender in the first episode, which Aurora tries to solve like a temper tantrum by simply putting Artemis in time-out like when they were little. However, Artemis goes missing afterwards, which Aurora dismisses in favor of governing Equestria.
After some weeks, a cult called the "Children of the Moon" start terrorizing Equestria led by the mysterious Nightmare Moon, who eventually lures Aurora into the throne room and claims to be Artemis before attacking her. Just as Nightmare Moon is about to overpower Aurora, Artemis flies out to save her, but Aurora is unappreciative and brushes her off.
Throughout the season, Aurora tries to defeat the Children of the Moon, while Artemis disappears for weeks at a time and only appears to save her from Nightmare Moon, after which she disappears again after Aurora tries to convince her to stop identifying as a mare and calls it 'unnatural'. There are a few episodes where a Child of the Moon comes to help Nightmare Moon against Aurora, but whenever Artemis appears they strangely avoid attacking her.
Also during the season, Aurora tries to use the Elements of Harmony against Nightmare Moon, but they don't work without Artemis. Nonetheless, she tries to figure it out while taking Artemis protecting her from Nightmare Moon for granted.
In the season finale, Nightmare Moon reveals that Artemis has been a magical projection throughout the season and that she is the real Artemis. To prove it, the Artemis illusion disappears right in front of Aurora's eyes. She then monologues about how she was never good enough for Aurora and how she gave up on trying to reason with her. A notable line from that scene: "If you can't see me as your sister, I have no reason to see you as mine!"
While they battle each other the same way as Nightmare Moon and Celestia in MLP, we have Aurora regretting how she treated Artemis before using the Elements of Harmony to tearfully banish Artemis to the Moon. She then breaks down and sings "Lullaby for a Princess" (a popular fan-made song in the MLP fandom, which I wanna make canon), signifying her acceptance of Artemis as her little sister and closing off the season on a melancholy note.
Season 6: With Artemis gone, Aurora enters a deep depression, but the Children of the Moon continue to threaten her rule. On top of that, she has to deal with threats from the Dragon Tribes led by Dragonlord Torch and the Changeling Kingdom led by Queen Anthrax.
The season centers around themes of depression, grief, guilt, and attempted suicide and takes place over 960 years. Aurora changes VA at some point to show subtle signs of aging, but she discovers that the Elements of Harmony bound her life force to her sisters' so that she won't just die of old age before her sister returns.
Season 7: 970 years after the banishment of Nightmare Moon, Aurora realizes she can't handle fighting her sister a second time and so resolves to find a student to wield the Elements of Harmony to (hopefully) bring Artemis back. She discovers a 11-year-old unicorn colt named Hesperus Haze who has a lot of raw magical power.
The season is just a slice-of-life at first, but Hesperus is slowly implied more and more to have a crush on his best friend. At the end of the season, he confesses to his crush but ends up getting rejected by his entire friend group, even with his status as the princess' prized pupil.
Aurora gives him a shoulder to cry on, and asks the newly-coronated Princess of Love, Mi Amore Cadenza (nicknamed Cadence) to officially decree homosexuality to be legal and supported by the Crown. The season ends with her looking up at the moon and telling Artemis she won't make the same mistake with Hesperus.
Season 8: Hesperus changes his name to Phosphorus Flame and becomes very introverted in this season. He starts getting bullied by his former friends for being gay, causing Aurora to take him out of normal classes in the royal academy and tutor him full-time. He starts living in Canterlot Castle, leaving behind his little brother Sunburst.
Through the season, Phosphorus grows more and more discontent with the colt he sees in the mirror, and is implied to be self-harming until he eventually realizes that she is a trans mare. She goes to Aurora, who immediately becomes very protective of her and silently promises not to have her end up like Artemis.
In the season finale, Phosphorus is reading up on a famous unicorn mage and asks Aurora about seeing the mage's unfinished work she read about. While working on it, she accidentally completes the spell and makes a spell that turns a pony into their ideal self. After the light fades away, Phosphorus is ecstatic to see her new female body and dubs herself Sunset Shimmer.
Season 9: Now finally comfortable in her own skin, Sunset becomes a spoiled brat as Aurora pampers her to avoid her ending up like Artemis, which Aurora explicitly states multiple times while monologuing at the Moon.
For the first time in the show, the season is mostly wholesome slice-of-life content similar to MLP, but about halfway through the season, Sunset discovers a portal to another world in the restricted section. She slowly starts becoming more egotistical and demanding than simply a spoiled brat, and when Aurora finally puts her hoof down even just gently in the season finale, Sunset throws a tantrum and runs away to the other world.
After waiting several weeks for Sunset to return, Aurora is once again heartbroken and sobs in the garden on Sunset's 25th birthday. One of her longtime aides tells her that she should find a balance between authoritativity and acceptance, and that accepting someone for who they are doesn't mean you have to let them walk all over you.
Aurora thanks her and goes back to staring at the moon, now worrying about what to do when Nightmare Moon returns. The next morning, she has her schedule cleared so she can stay in the royal gardens to continue sulking, but then a giant dragon crashes through the roof of the royal academy and the season ends with her in shock and shouting "What?!" like David Tennant.
Season 10: Picking off immediately after the previous season, Aurora goes to check on the giant dragon. She ends up having to step into one of the strongest thaumic fields (magical energy fields) she's ever experienced to calm down a 7-year-old unicorn filly named Twilight Sparkle (the fandom will complain about me copying MLP G4, but pre-G4 versions of MLP also had ponies called Twilight Sparkle, so whatever).
The rest of the season is MLP-style slice-of-life content showing Twilight's life as Aurora's new student from age 7-12.
Season 11: This season continues in a slice-of-life format, but now focuses on Twilight's rebellious teenage years (13-19) where Aurora worries about her potentially turning out like Sunset as she constantly hangs out in Canterlot nightclubs during this period.
Twilight comes out as bisexual when she's 14 and later gets pregnant and aborts the foal when she's 16. The entire experience traumatizes her, and she throws herself into her studies to cope, eventually transforming into the adorkable bookhorse everyone knows and love from MLP by the time she's 19 years old. The season ends with Twilight's 20th birthday.
Season 12: This season is mostly a remake of a mix of MLP G4 episodes that feature Luna and MLP G4 season 1, but Rainbow Dash is already dating Soarin (who is not a Wonderbolt here) and Fluttershy already runs an animal sanctuary before Twilight arrives in Ponyville.
A lot of the content from here on out is basically just a more mature rewrite of MLP G4 which some episodes shuffled around, but this season is mostly centered on Artemis returning to Equestria after 1000 years, changing her name to Luna after being freed from the Nightmare, and adjusting to finally having a proper female body.
Throughout the season, she struggles with self-doubt and guilt, eventually leading to the season finale, which is a remake of "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?" from MLP G4. She also confronts and demobilizes remnants of the Children of the Moon, which the Sparkle family is revealed to be a part of.
Season 13: This season begins exactly one year after Twilight's arrival in Ponyville, and is focused on introducing this show's versions of MLP G4's Ponyville residents. Applejack is 26 years old, Rarity is 25 years old, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle are 24 years old, Fluttershy is 23 years old, and Pinkie Pie is 21 years old in this season.
The season premiere is a remake of "The Return of Harmony" from MLP G4, titled "The Revelation of Chaos" as a callback to the season premiere of Season 2, which was titled "The Genesis of Chaos".
The followers of Discord who were a major enemy in Season 3 are revealed to have evolved into the "Order of Discord", which Discord points out to be a very ironic contradiction before immediately poofing all the members out of existence at once. The rest of the story plays out mostly similar to "The Return of Harmony" from MLP G4.
During the season, Lyra Heartstrings and Agent Sweetie Drops (codename: Bon-Bon) are explicitly confirmed to be engaged with an episode where they get married, while Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Melody have an episode where they start dating. Aside from them, a lot of other characters also get (re)introduced, including Diamond Tiara, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Derpy Hooves, and Trixie Lulamoon (the Great and Powerful).
In a remake of "Party of One" (another episode from MLP G4), Pinkie Pie is revealed to have split personality disorder when her alternate personality, who calls herself "Pinkamena", emerges from her despair in that episode. It then leads to the next episode, where Pinkamena eventually decides to let Pinkie have control of her body back (on the condition she also gets to roam around at least once a week) after seeing how important the party pony is to Ponyville.
The season finale of this season is a major turning point in the series. It starts as a remake of "A Canterlot Wedding" from MLP G4, but instead Twilight refuses to forgive her friends for not trusting her and Cadence defeats Chrysalis by using a spell that transfers the love between her and Shining Armor to between her and Chrysalis.
With Chrysalis now in love with Cadence, the changeling invasion is halted, but a drone named Pharynx leads a mutiny in the changeling army and deposes Chrysalis as the queen of the changeling hive on the grounds of mental incapacitation. The now-King Pharynx leads a new attack on Canterlot, but they are defeated and flee back to the Southern Badlands.
The events of "A Wedding and A Betrayal" cause Twilight to run off and get on a train which then inexplicably explodes. Twilight is presumed dead, which nearly pushes Aurora to suicide, with only Luna being able to stop her. The season ends with Twilight's funeral, with a mysterious figure watching in the shadows.
Season 14: In the season premiere, the Mane 5 and the Royal Sisters struggle to cope with Twilight's death while Arcadia returns along with Sombra. A mysterious and powerful unicorn mage simply calling herself 'Midnight' arrives and offers her help, so Aurora accepts it since she obviously can't send Twilight to help Cadence and Chrysalis defend their new kingdom.
Upon reaching Arcadia, Midnight is clearly hostile and untrusting towards Chrysalis due to the changeling invasion of Canterlot. Afterwards, the episode proceeds to be a remake of "The Crystal Empire", but with Midnight showing more skill in dark magic and less inner conflict than Twilight did in MLP, thus defeating Sombra faster.
The rest of the first half of the season revolves around the Royal Sisters and Twilight's friends grieving for her while Midnight takes Twilight's place in remakes of most of MLP G4's season 3 (keyword: most; "Magical Mystery Cure" not included) including defeating Trixie's attempt at taking over Ponyville.
In the midseason finale, Midnight is revealed to have been Twilight in disguise when she crashes Cadence and Chrysalis' wedding with an illusion of King Pharynx's changeling army attacking Canterlot again. In disguise, she pretends to save Canterlot from the invasion by dispelling the illusion, after which she gives a speech painting Aurora as an incompetent ruler who has grown senile with age.
The second half of the season includes yet another suicide attempt by Aurora, as well as Midnight slowly gathering the keys to the box under the Tree of Harmony and hiding them so that the Mane 5 won't be able to defeat her with the rainbow powers in the box. In one episode, Rainbow Dash reveals that Soarin' broke up with her off-screen but they agreed to stay friends.
In the season finale, Midnight finally takes over Equestria after defeating the Royal Sisters and her former friends in a magic battle crashing the Equestria Games. Aurora then fails to commit suicide again, but this time she ends up in a coma.
Season 15: With Queen Midnight now in control of Equestria, the rest of the season centers around the Mane 5 working with Luna to find a way to defeat her and make amends with Twilight.
A subplot also happens where Rainbow Dash helps free Scootaloo from her abusive parents. Fluttershy and Sweetie Belle also come to help later on, with Sweetie (as well as Applebloom) helping to comfort Scootaloo.
At the end of this subplot, Rainbow and Fluttershy get married in order to adopt Scootaloo, then actually do fall in love later in the season (a little bit of fluff in the middle of all that angst). Sweetie Belle also starts falling in love with Scootaloo, but they only start dating after the CMC get their cutie marks.
The season finale is yet another remake of an MLP episode, this time "Twilight's Kingdom". At the end of the episode, Twilight defeats Tirek by using up all her magic to blast him back to Tartarus. With her body depleted of magic, she ends up close to death but the Mane 5 save her via hospitalization.
She apologizes to everypony, including Aurora who wakes up from her coma and turns down the offer to be restored to her position. The season ends with her moving back to Ponyville (meaning Ponyville is now Equestria's seat of power) followed by the credits showing the magical aurora from Equestria's magic being restored.
Season 16: A 43-year-old Sunset Shimmer returns from her exile in the other world after almost 20 years. She immediately retrieves a forbidden artifact from the restricted section and tracks down Sunburst, who tells her about Twilight becoming Aurora's student and then Queen of Equestria.
She then ambushes Twilight in the middle of the night at Canterlot Castle. They have a scuffle, during which she activates the artifact and switches bodies with Twilight. Now in Twilight's body, she calls the Royal Guards and has "her attacker" imprisoned.
During the season, she tries to live as Twilight, but eventually realizes Twilight's life is not the life she thinks Twilight stole from her. Meanwhile Twilight, now in Sunset's body, digs up some secrets from Sunset's past (not shown in Seasons 7-9) and redeems herself as she realizes how much she truly misses her friends and previously took them for granted while isolated from them.
Meanwhile, Luna quickly picks up that "Twilight" is not who she seems, but decides to investigate alone. Aurora, now trying to live a quiet life in Ponyville, has to contend with her fame and finds comfort in Miss Cheerilee. They start dating off-screen at some point.
In the season finale, Twilight (in Sunset's body) manages to sneak into Canterlot Castle at the same time Luna finally decides to confront Sunset (in Twilight's body).
Luna confesses that she has been in love with Twilight since the Season 12 finale (hinted at during previous seasons) which Twilight overhears, causing her to come out hiding.
They have a magic battle in the throne room, and this time Sunset gets overpowered by Luna and Twilight, allowing Twilight to switch their bodies back. After that, Sunset surrenders and decides to go back to her daughter in the other world. Twilight and Luna then have a heart-to-heart, after which they kiss.
The season ends with Twilight reuniting with her friends, who update her on everything that's been going on with them (Rarity and Applejack had an episode where they started dating, plus other Mane 6 adventures in this season) after Twilight and Luna announce that they're dating now.
Season 17: This season takes place 2 years after the end of season 16. Applejack is now 30, Rarity is now 29, Rainbow Dash and Twilight are now 28, Fluttershy is now 27, and Pinkie is now 25. (So basically the last 4 seasons took place over the course of 2 years and this season takes place 4 years after Season 13)
In the season premiere, the spirit of Nightmare Moon is revealed to have not been completely destroyed by the Elements of Harmony in the Season 12 premiere, instead having spent 5 years siphoning magic from the Everfree Forest and the moon. She attempts to magically form her own body, but accidentally absorbs the spirit of a recently-deceased orphan colt into the spell, causing the body to be a filly that looks like her, but with the colt in control of it.
The body-creation spell generates a massive pulse of energy, so the Mane 6 go to the ruin of the Castle of the Royal Sisters (retroactively renamed) to investigate. They discover the filly that looks like Nightmare Moon, and are understandably cautious upon encountering him. Rainbow Dash tries to surprise-attack the filly, but Fluttershy stops her with a kiss that gets her flustered.
After some shenanigans, the Mane 6 bring the colt back to the Golden Oak Library, where he tries to adjust to his new female body. Luna comes as soon as she gets the letter informing her about the filly, and then casually decides to propose to Twilight that they get married and adopt the filly.
After freaking out, Twilight agrees and starts the paperwork for the filly's technically-birth to be recorded. After some discussion, they agree to name her Moonlight Sparkle, since Luna doesn't have a last name due to being an orphan.
The rest of the season centers around Moonlight's struggle against bullying and rejection from ponies who see her as Nightmare Moon, which is easier to deal with after the CMC expose Diamond Tiara's mother for child abuse and help Diamond become a better pony, in the process helping her find the meaning of her cutie mark and getting their cutie marks.
In one episode, Moonlight and Luna enter Pinkie's dreamscape together and Moonlight accidentally separates Pinkamena and Pinkie into two separate bodies, prompting Pinkamena to shorten her name to Mena and go back to the Pie family farm.
In another episode, the Mane 6 meet Starlight Glimmer, who in this show isn't a megalomaniacal manipulator stealing ponies' cutie marks, but legitimately leading a community centered around an artifact that stores ponies' magic to be shared among everypony in the community (implied to have been created during the war against King Sombra back in Season 4). Trixie also makes an appearance in this episode, having become a more humble mare and married Starlight.
The season finale is a remake of "To Where and Back Again" (again, from MLP G4), but with Moonlight instead of Starlight, Pharynx instead of Chrysalis, and Trixie just visiting instead of having long-term residence in Ponyville. Thorax is introduced in a remake of "The Times They Are a Changeling", but with "A Changeling Can Change" rewritten into a pretty ok rock song instead of whatever they were trying to do in MLP.
Season 18: This season features yet another timeskip, this time skipping ahead another 5 years to Twilight opening the School of Friendship. Instead of herself and her friends who have their own jobs already, Twilight hires actual teachers for the school (as dictated by common sense).
The events of "School Daze" don't happen because Twilight already reformed the EEA off-screen (along with many other reforms) during Season 15, and also because she makes an actual curriculum for the school.
This season is the first in the show to truly not have any conflict whatsoever, with Cozy Glow only being introduced in the season premiere of the next season. Without any action, this season becomes pure slice-of-life content, introducing the Young 5: Yona the Yak, Gallus the Gryphon, Sandbar the Earth Pony, Smolder the Dragon, and Ocellus the Changeling. (Hippogriffs don't exist here, and neither does the Storm King, or anything from the G4 movie)
The main story arc of the season is just a couple of budding romances: Sandbar with Gallus, Smolder with Ocellus. Yona is canonically aroace here, so she's just being wholesome and happy for her friends while fifth-wheeling them.
Season 19: The season premiere introduces Cozy Glow, who manipulates her way through the School of Friendship before then trying to drain all the magic from Equestria just like in MLP, but all in two episodes instead of a story arc like in MLP.
When the plan fails thanks to the Young 5's intervention, before she gets captured she gets teleported away to a cave where Pharynx has resurrected Sombra and freed Tirek from Tartarus, planning to help all three of them defeat Twilight once and for all. Sombra of course is still too arrogant for his own good and swiftly gets himself killed the same way as he did in MLP in the very next episode.
The rest of the season is full of relationship fluff with the Mane 6 (minus Pinkie, who's confirmed to be aroace) and Princess Luna. Most remaining plot threads from previous seasons are tied up, hopefully sparking speculation that this will be the final season of the show due to the villains' story arc's correlation with season 9 of MLP.
The season finale ties up any plot threads not wrapped up during the season, and revolves around Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Pharynx's all-or-nothing attempt to destroy Equestria once and for all. They lose of course, but Cozy Glow's particularly ruthless behavior during the episode sets up the next and true final season of G6.
Season 20: The first episode starts with a flashback to before the final battle in Season 19's finale. Cozy Glow is revealed to have magically placed her conscience into a separate body, explaining her merciless behavior in that episode.
The first half of the season focuses on Cozy Glow's backstory, told via flashbacks by her conscience, who takes the name "Dizzy" based on Cozy's middle name which is revealed to be "Dizanna". In the flashbacks, Cozy is revealed to have grown up under a racist unicorn called Lord Spector, who believes pegasi to be an inferior race.
During the first half of the season, Dizzy tries to escape from Ponyville to avoid the Mane 6 punishing her for Cozy's crimes. Unfortunately, she is captured during the midseason finale, but then Lord Spector attacks Equestria using his private army. Twilight searches the Royal Archives to find out who Spector is, but he seems to be ancient beyond recorded history.
In the second half of the season, Equestria fights its first civil war in a long time, made harder by Lord Spector's racist propaganda turning the three pony races against each other. The season ends with Twilight in a bleak situation, with Equestria falling apart and their allies being divided on whether to stay and help or close their borders with Equestria to avoid the war spilling over.
Movie: Functioning as a bittersweet happy-ending epilogue, the movie is a remake of the MLP G5 movie, but with heavier implication of romantic feelings between Sunny Starscout and Izzy Moonbow.
Alright, now that I'm done with My Little Pony, let's move on to Miraculous Ladybug (thankfully, my plan for this one doesn't have as many seasons as my plan for My Little Pony):
Season 1: This season is largely dedicated to reintroducing all the characters from the original series. Marinette becomes Ladybug, Adrien becomes Chat Noir, basically the same origin story as the original show but it's the premiere instead of the finale. The other difference here is that some episodes don't have akumas and are fully slice-of-life episodes dedicated to exploring and developing characters.
In this season, it is established that Juleka and Rose have been dating for a while. Marc and Nathaniel meet each other during the season and eventually start dating in a later season. Also, Lila is already at Marinette's school from the beginning, Alya has been Marinette's friend for as long as Nino, and Nino is already dating Alya.
Not much plot happens in this season, it's mostly character-centered. Chloe's a jerk as usual, but here Lila is her number-two who's actually more ruthless than the main bully, while Sabrina has to be a servant to both of them instead of just Chloe (poor Sabrina).
Season 2: This is where the plot starts developing, but Marinette and Adrien won't be there for it because halfway through the season their identities are exposed which forces them to give up their Miraculouses. After that, Master Fu chooses Alix and Kagami as the new Ladybug and Black Cat holders, respectively.
The second half of the season explores additional powers of the Miraculous and develops the lore, as well as continuing to explore Alix and Kagami as characters. Meanwhile, Adrienette starts dating and they're in their honeymoon period and all that.
Season 3: The plot advances further. Chloe properly gets character development and becomes softer towards Marinette (and everyone in general) while Lila's mom (heavily implied to be Sunset Shimmer in human form) finds out about her atrocious behaviour and pulls her out of school.
Sabrina finally breaks free of the mean girls due to this, but she still sticks around with Chloe, just as a friend instead of a mere servant. Meanwhile, Adrien and Marinette slowly drift apart as a couple and realize they're better off as just best friends.
In one episode, Marinette makes a replica of Adrien's Chat Noir costume so he can continue being Chat Noir, which is when he feels most comfortable as himself. A joke about him being catgender is included somewhere.
Season 4: Chloe's character arc reaches its end with Chloe becoming a true hero while wielding the Bee Miraculous as Queen Bee. She starts being hinted to have a crush on Marinette, but she doesn't confess until the next season.
Meanwhile, more plot stuff happens, more character development happens, etc. etc. etc.
Season 5: Everything ends. All the plot threads and story arcs get wrapped up nice and neat, Hawkmoth is defeated, Chloe and Marinette start dating (Marinette is canonically bisexual here) and Adrien gets to go back to properly being Chat Noir (but now he does it full-time and pretty much no one except Marinette sees "Adrien Agreste" ever again).
Next, we have the recently-ended The Ghost and Molly McGee:
I don't even need to separate this one into seasons because it's basically just a remake of the original show (which only just ended) but with Libby and Molly becoming girlfriends in the season 1 finale so that Ollie is just Molly's best friend and not her boyfriend. Also, the plot gets more time to develop over 3 seasons instead of everything getting stuffed into the season 2 finale.
Now that that's out of the way, here's Doctor Who to bring everything together:
Season X: We start with the Nth Doctor, freshly regenerated, falling into ancient China while the TARDIS vanishes into somewhere in time and space à la the 13th Doctor at the beginning of series 11. They eventually find the TARDIS and start travelling with their first companion in a long time to not come from modern-day England.
This season is just standalone episodes with no story arc, but then the companion decides to leave at the end of the season after having learnt a lot of modern concepts and ideas, wanting to spread them to his own time and place.
Season (X+1): The Doctor somehow finds out that their companion is in serious danger back in his time period, and decides to save him from a gruesome death at the hands of traditionalist reactionaries who disagree with his modern ideas. However, in the process, they end up losing some advanced technology and leaving it in the time period.
As the season progresses, the Doctor is cautiously looking for any major changes to history that may have been caused by their mistake, and is relieved when there have seemingly been none. However, eventually it is revealed that the technology was reverse-engineered and developed by a family with the surname Wu, who shaped themselves and their descendants into a secret society manipulating history from the shadows to gain power.
In the season finale, the Doctor's companion sacrifices himself to save the Doctor, while a wormhole generator (shaped like a music box) powered by three gems colored pink, blue, and green is tossed through one of its own portals before the Clan of Wu can establish their power on another planet while their influence on Earth is slowly crumbling.
Season (X+2): The Doctor continues travelling to different planets, but now almost every planet they go to is being invaded by robots shaped like anthropomorphic frogs. They manage to stop the invasions, until the season finale where the newt king that commands the robots meets them via video call as a distraction while the robots surround them and just shoot instead of letting them come up with a plan.
As the Doctor begins to regenerate, they set the TARDIS to scan the portal the robots come from, and to go to the space-time coordinates on the other side. The season ends with them regenerating on the floor like in Classic Who.
Meanwhile, Amphibia returns with a special where Anne, Sasha, and Marcy are contacted by the Guardian, who asks them to go back to Amphibia to figure out some way to defeat evil versions of themselves from an alternate universe. Before that though, Sasha and Marcy reveal to Anne that they're dating now, which is a little awkward since Anne also used to date Sasha back in high school before going back to just being friends.
After they return to Amphibia, they encounter some old friends and fight off wildlife before their journey suddenly gets interrupted by a crash in the woods. They go to the crash site, where a blue police box has crash-landed, with smoke coming out of its open doors. Suddenly, a girl who looks like Marcy (but 10 years ago when she first came to Amphibia) climbs out of the box wearing clothes that are way too big for her.
Instead of an Amphibia-style credit sequence, the credits are a Doctor Who credit sequence, because this Amphibia special segues directly back to Doctor Who:
Season (X+3): The (N+1)th Doctor wakes up and behaves erratically due to being freshly-regenerated. Immediately, she's shown to have a much grouchier personality than Marcy ever had, but she ends up having an "I am the Doctor" moment when she saves Anne, Sasha, and Marcy from their evil counterparts somehow.
This season is 30 episodes long, broadcast Classic Who-style in 3 10-episode serials titled "Heart", "Strength", and "Wit" in that order. Each serial has it's own story about Anne, Sasha, and Marcy in that order (in addition to every episode's individual plot), but only Marcy's story ties into the season's overall story arc.
As it turns out, the evil versions of Anne and Sasha are being mind-controlled by the evil version of Marcy, who is from a universe where a part of the Clan of Wu was able to arrive in Amphibia and establish themselves as the benefactors of the Newtopian monarchy by giving them access to interplanetary travel (in the original universe, the newts just found the box and figured out what to do with it via trial and error) while some of them remained on Earth and eventually Marcy was descended from them.
In the evil trio's universe, the Core still exists and consists of not just ancient newts but also Marcy's ancient ancestors. 10 years ago in that universe, Marcy found out about her ancestors' past glory and got insecure about her own relative insignificance. This led to her going down a spiral that resulted in her willingly becoming the Core's host to surround herself with ancient knowledge. In the simulated world of the Core, she also has Anne and Sasha as her consorts, a revelation which makes Anne and Sasha blush.
In the season finale, the Core is about to win when the original universe's Marcy finally manages to finish therapizing her alternate self via psychic link (courtesy of the Doctor), causing Evil Marcy to try and take back control of her body. When that fails, she figures out some way to delete the entire Core, sacrificing herself to save the multiverse from the Core.
Her last words echo Original Marcy's last words in Amphibia's season 2 finale: "I'm sorry... for everything."
After all that, the Doctor brings Anne, Sasha, and Marcy back to Wartwood and they go their separate ways, but not before the Doctor gives them a parting gift: an actually-stable portal between Earth and Amphibia so they can go back and forth between the worlds.
After this, Amphibia gets a continuation titled "Amphibia, Vol. 2" while Doctor Who continues with the (N+1)th Doctor.
Season (X+4): This season lacks a story arc, and doesn't set up any future story arcs. All the episodes are standalone stories that try to slowly fix inconsistencies and plot holes in Doctor Who lore one by one, and all the while the Doctor proceeds to travel with various characters from The Owl House, who are now in their 20s.
For the first few episodes, the Doctor travels with Luz and Amity, before dropping the happy couple back home and picking up Camila, travelling with her for a few more episodes before bringing her home and picking up Hunter and Gus for the rest of the season. After sending them back home in the final episode, the Doctor continues travelling.
Meanwhile, The Owl House has several spin-offs of the original show instead of getting a reboot:
A spin-off recounting Vee's time posing as Luz and later Camila
A spin-off expanding on the Wittebane brothers' story
A spin-off expanding on Eda's teenage years along with the other adult witches on The Owl House
A spin-off of the Collector's adventures in space, which is somewhat a parody of Doctor Who
A continuation of the original show, set during and after the same time as Doctor Who season (X+4)
Back in Doctor Who, the (N+1)th Doctor embarks on her final season:
Season (X+5): The Doctor meets Bow, Glimmer, Catra, and Adora. They then start travelling together, and the season's story arc somehow brings together She-ra & the Princesses of Power lore and Doctor Who lore. They save the universe, then Bow and Glimmer leave at the end of the season while Catra and Adora stay and get even more character development in the next season.
The (N+1)th Doctor then regenerates in the Christmas special and continues travelling with Catra and Adora.
Season (X+6): The (N+2)th Doctor debuts with the face of Libby, from The Ghost & Molly McGee, and a dynamic 11th Doctor-type personality. After one more story arc and more character development, the Doctor says goodbye to Catra and Adora.
Season (X+7) & (X+8): The Doctor travels with Molly and Libby after the finale of The Ghost & Molly McGee. A story arc happens over these two seasons, then she regenerates and Doctor Who goes back to live-action.
Season Y: Some years after season (X+7), the Pth Doctor regenerates into an equine form resembling Twilight Sparkle, and crashes into Sunny Starscout's lighthouse at the end of the movie. This season continues immediately after that, with the (P+1)th Doctor helping Sunny and her friends stop the Equestrian Civil War and prevent the three pony tribes from splitting apart after season 20.
Zipp and Pipp die at a certain point in the season, followed by Hitch later on, then Izzy and Sunny in the penultimate episode, right after confessing their love to each other. In the finale, the Doctor manages to save Equestria, then goes back to the future to see Sunny living happily with her friends and marefriend in the new timeline.
The season ends with the TARDIS dematerialising off-camera, followed by Sunny looking puzzled in the direction of the strange noise, before then brushing it off and going on with her life. The (P+1)th Doctor then regenerates in the Christmas special and Doctor Who reverts to live-action for good.

Do you have a favorite episode or episodes of amphibia?? Asking for a friend 👀
Oh, jeez. Ori, I have. SO MANY. Uhhhhh, buckle up??? 👀 I limited myself to 3 episodes per season but honestly this show has so many fun episodes!!!
Season One
s1ep1: Anne or Beast?/Best Fronds - Episode 1 does SUCH a great job at setting up the story and tone for the show imo! It leaves a lot of things purposefully vague (how did our protag end up in this wacky alternate world? who the hell is in that photograph? etc etc) to reveal as the seasons progress, which I really enjoy! AND you get introduced to the found siblings ever with Anne and Sprig 🐸 I love them so much! While I'm mostly referring to the first part here, Best Fronds does an excellent job at establishing their relationship and their perspective on what friendship means.
s1ep9: Lily Pad Thai/Plantar's Last Stand - Even though it's more of a filler episode, I really love how Lily Pad Thai explores Anne's Thai heritage! Very near and dear to my heart 🥺 Plantar's Last Stand is alright, too, but I much prefer the first half of this episode <3
s1ep20: Reunion - Emotional Damage The Episode. Things get! Dark! Would have reduced me to tears had I not had previous associations with the background music 🥲 Also. Sasha Waybright beloved there are so many things wrong with her <333
Season Two
s2ep6: Marcy at the Gates - Introduction to the third member of my favorite trio! Marcy is very, very adorable and endearing and seeing a reunion that goes more smoothly than. Reunion. Is very sweet 🥰
s2ep10: The Sleepover to End All Sleepovers/Day at the Aquarium - BOTH parts of this episode are so very good and I cannot possibly choose a favorite between them. The girlies getting up to hijinks in a castle late at night and bawling your eyes out when it's your last day in a place you've grown fond of <333
s2ep19: The Dinner/Battle of the Bands - Once again, I literally could not choose even if you held me at gunpoint. The Dinner is very fun and very awkward and it is SO fun to see all these characters finally interact in a (sort of) low-stakes situation. And Battle of the Bands is just plain, cheesy, Disney fun! Heartstomper and No Big Deal my beloveds 💗💙💚
Season Three
s3ep7: Spider Sprig/Oliva & Yunan - OAY. Hoooooo boy. I can not even BEGIN to imagine what it must've been like to watch this live but I hadn't gotten caught up to the release dates until the Christmas special lmao. Emotional Damage The Episode Part Three 👁 (part two was s2's finale, naturally). Everyone in this episode is having a Bad Time. Spider Sprig is. Not a favorite. Sorry.
s3ep11: Commander Anne/Sprivy - Commander Anne is a really neat exploration of Anne and Sasha's relationship as they navigate how to repair some things and also like. Lead the rest of their group without falling apart at the seams. Also the source of a certain meme, thanks to Sasha's gayass blushing 💗 Sprivy is,,, okay? I MUCH prefer the first half of this episode, though.
s3ep17: All In - This episode has everything. Heartwrenching quotes from the protagonists. Mass destruction of property. Kpop. Rupaul (unfortunately). The Photograph. The girls fighting ⚔️ (part ???). Very very fun. I'd also put The Hardest Thing in here but that would be breaking my little self-imposed rules so

You ever listen to Lily’s streams? Even her attempt at humming hurts my ears. The woman is such a liar claiming to be both musically inclined and a better singer than Rebecca Sugar. LO’s voice is so bad and absolutely terrible that she makes Rebecca Sugar sound like a classically trained opera singer in comparison. And this is coming from someone who never really cared for Recca’s singing all that much until now. Thanks to Lily’s absolutely horrible singing voice and inaccurate complaints I think I may have just come to appreciate Rebecca genuine singing chops and soft-sweet voice such much more now.
Ngl, when I was a fan of Lily and I tried to join a stream once...I just got bored pretty fast and just gave up on the stream, going back to my normal youtube videos/music. Like, keep in mind, at the time, I thought the stream would be fun as another youtuber's streams I watched at the time was miles more entertaining and engaging with the audience, but uh, Lily setting the standards really low (granted, given she literally once purposely deafened her audience with spraying something into the microphone...maybe it's good it was only one stream I tried out while a fan).
And this kinda means I haven't heard her you know, humming or attempting to sing, but like, maybe its just me, but her voice grates on my ears sometimes even when she isn't trying to do music, so I can only assume it can be grating when she does hum or sing. But honestly same, I'm not huge on a-lot of SU music (my favorite is still Other Friends (I'm a sucker for villain songs sometimes)), but her singing in the Amphibia Christmas Special was pretty good, and Lily even if her singing was good, really can't act like Rebecca is a shit singer cause its clear Lily is just insisting that to continue her never ending hate for Rebecca.

Ducktales Reviews: Last Christmas!: FINALLY
Tumblr media
Happy Holidays All You Happy Ducks! Today we have a special one for you as we're FINALLY talking about Ducktales first full christmas episode, Last Christmas!
This one has a bit of a history with me. For starters I.. didn't see this one when it came out. I have a bad habit of storing christmas episodes for next year if I don't get to them.. and the next.. and the next. Yeah my tendency to let things I need to watch pile up does NOT go great with episodes that have a timer on them. Eventually I ended up watching it a few years back on Disney+.
This episode ended up being cursed for me apparently as this is the THIRD christmas i've tried to put it on the schedule and the first it's actually gone up. I tried doing it the first year I did this, last year, every year something comes up and I had to put this aside. Well it's finally here.
This also has the honor of being the first episode reviewed after getting my copy of Art of Ducktales, which gives a lot of background info into the show, how it was made, that sorta stuff.
It's especially useful here as it turns out Last Chrismtas was orignally planned for season 1, serving as another piece of the Della mystery. Dewey goes back to try and talk to her.. but ends up with her as a kid instead. It was decided it was too early in the series and honestly.. that was probably the right call. Shows CAN do good holiday episodes in their first season, as we'll see with the Ghost and MollyMcgee soon, but most shows tend to wait till season 2 to break out Halloween and Christmas/Hannukah episodes. It makes perfect sense to me as to why: By Season 2 your characters have fully settled into their characterizations and who they are, making it funner to play with. It's especially true in animation: while sitcoms and such will likely get one a year and thus have multiple attempts to do whatever, usually with a cartoon you get ONE holiday episode they can reair forever and ever. This is becoming less of a thing these days as both this show and big city greens have had two, but there's still no guarantee your release will synch up to where you can do christmas twice. Amphibia only got the one and while they nailed it, sometimes that one shot can misfire pretty badly. Ask My LIfe as A Teenage Robot. I.. I dread the day i'l lhave to deal with that mess of an episode but I know it's coming.
So saving the proper holiday episode to season 2 was a smart move and worked out: as the creators put it it allowed them to give us a preview of Della before her full spotlight episode next time out, as well as reintroduce the stakes of her returning from the family's perspective since they woudlnt' be around next time we saw them. Add in a clever twist on a christmas carol and you've got a holiday classic. I will say the Santa episode is better.. .but it dosen't mean last christmas isn't still a masterpiece. They just somehow outdid themselves the nexdt time around As you can probably tell I like this episode so let's get on with the long awaited review under the cut.
Something I forgot is that this episode.. is really two diffrent 11 or so minute stories. Their interconnected and start at the same point, but since the show usually just has it's two plots play off one another, I had it in my head the two went back and forth. In reality it's just two diffrent shorts covering two very diffrent plots with a shared message, theme and antagonist. It's a neat way to do it do: just let Scrooge and Dewey's seperate stories breathe as while their learning similar lessons, their still their own journeys. It also makes the twist less obvious. So starting off
The Setup: The episode starts with Scrooge doing what you'd expect: throwing a big tantrum about not liking christmas. We eve I think eget a ba hum bug. Only Micheal Caine or Dylan Saunders has been this cranky a scrooge. We do get some nice bits thougH: Donald not only being super into christmas to honor his sister, but fighting with an inflatable snowman, Webby only decorating a small portion of the tree, and the fact the ducks have an annual christmas viewing of night on bear mountain, a stellar nod to the story that introduced scrooge which I covered my first christmas. It also implies it happened in SOME form in this universe though how I don't know. Meanwhile Dewey is also not feeling the Christmas Electricity, but mostly because he's missing his mom, sadly looking at a photo of her like he's wolverine. Donald comes in and while he's combative at first because A) he's donald and B) He sees Dewey hiding something once he sees it's a picture of Della he understands and gives the boy space, saying he can join them when he feels like it. Dewey's mopey solo time is interuppted by laughter.. and following it Dewey finds.. Scrooge.. eating, drinking and being merry with three strange figures. There turn out to be the Ghosts of Christmas Past (A cricket similar to Jiminey voiced by Jack McBrayer), Present (A wild pig…)
Tumblr media
I know and I missed you. Voiced by Bil Frabrake, of Patrick Star and nailing a nutsack to his door fame, and the Ghost of CHristmas Future Played by
Tumblr media
Turns out in a nice twist, the three came to scrooge one holiday, implied to be during the decade Della was lost judging by some Dialouge from past later, thinking he was the other guy, and ended up liking him. So they've come back every year after their usual spiel to party with Scrooge through time and space. Well mostly time but i'm sure they can travel through space too.
Scrooge also explains why the whole hating chistmas deception: He dosen't really.. well except Santa , ex boyfriend troubles amirite?, and that'll be fixed next holiday special. He's just so exausted from taking care of his family, his company, keeping the world serpent Jormungandr at bay, which is still one of my faviorite lines in the series. Fun Fact from what the art of book tells me they didn't have a concrete plan right away, but they did throw this out here knowing they'd do something with it eventually.
Dewey agrees to keep his secret at least for this year as he understands needing some me time, and thus our stories splinter off: Scrooge heads with his boys to the past.. and as we find out later Dewey grabs on to tag along but ends up falling off into the past. We'll catch up with him later. For now
Party of Christmas Past
So Past's idea this year is to go where they left, the mansion but not when (Scrooge is done with all the time travel puns). I also love the touch of Dewey later making the exact same pun in his story.
It's the First Annual McDuck Industries Employee Christmas Party, sometime in the 1960s. So clearly this is when Scrooge Conglomrated everything. HE also wasn't as succesful yet, but they had fun. It's honestly a nice subtle parallel to the party from A Christmas Carol, our hero visiting a happier time. The only diffrence is he's the boss. OH and he meets his past self who brushes it off with an "older me" and a hat tip.
This works out well enough for Present (Who naturally goes to destroy the buffet) and Future (Who Mrs. B, whose got it, hits on), but not so much Scrooge, who can't relax as he has to deal with his board, who apparently decided to going to the office party was part of their evil plans. Look it's free food and booze even evil masterminds and their clones have to eat and get embarasingly drunk. Even seeing Goldie.. ends up going nowhere as buisness calls and he's up to his ass and shit. What is this buisness? A bunch of people pitching stuff. Scrooge is annoyed, feeling he shoudl've stayed with his family and planning to leave. Past melts down a bit over that nad comes up with another idea: Scrooge's very FIRST christmas in duckberg. Just a tend the stars and no one around. Scrooge likes this.. for about five minutes. He realizes that as a lot as they can be.. .he misses his family, and christmas should be with them. It also makes sense why it took so many years: As I said past hints about in a second that Scrooge's family returning changed him. It was a nice escape when he had an empty mansion with only his best friend and someone he barely knew who turns out to be his daughter later for company. He was keeping everyone at arms length. Now his mansion is full of life again: He's let Beakley back in as a friend, taken Webby as surrogate family, reconciled with donald and met and got to know and mentor his nephews. There's also Launchpad whose like the dumbass himbo son he never knew he had nor never wanted but accepts anyway.
Thing is Past.. is a bit of a clingy bitch. It's also a nice take on the character: Past wasn't trying to teach Scrooge the meaning of christmas.. he's pissed someone is going to leave him AGAIN. It shows the strain this job would have on someone: getting to know them, helping them.. only to never see them again because as a better man, they dont' need you anymore. His behavior isn't RIGHT, he's trying to trap scrooge in the past for his own selfish desires and not getting that he can't keep scrooge here and maybe he shoudl find other firends or take solace in his fellow spirits, but it's sympathetic enough. We still want scrooge to win but we at least get why Past has sunk this low. Jack McBrayer also does a great job as a villian. Part of casting him as this was to see if jack could pull it off and boy does he. It's also a nice smokescreen: Given Jack hadn't played a ton of villians at this point, it gets you to drop your guard and not realize Past is going to be a problem till it's too late.
Scrooge of course being scrooge eventually beats him. When a straight up fight just goes in cricles, he simply asks to go back a minute to live the fight over.. thens teals Past's umbrella and strands him. Classic Scrooge. Past thinks Scrooge will just come back..b ut he undferstandably doesn't. Which leads us into
Siblings of Christmas Past
Dewey picks up like I said falliing off future, making a pun, that sort of thing. But now he realizes he's here in the past.. his mom might ALSO be and goes to look for her. instead he finds Grunge Donald Duck
Tumblr media
Yeah this came about from Frank realizing the timeline being adjusted meant Donald would be Dewey's age in the 90's, and given he used to be a musician.. he would totally be a grunge kid. Maybe we'll see teen donald on that 90's show. Fingers crossed. At the very least Kev has given me the idea of Della, Donald an the Cbas doing a circle. I guaranteee Donald would be the one who talks about a car that runs on water man.
This was also a golden opportunity for them to bring in a legend that they'd left out of the series thus far. See the one downside, and really the ONLY downside to making the boys unique characters instead of the hive mind that will one day loom over us all as our cruel overlords in all their 90s misogny, was that Russi Taylor wouldn't be playing them. So like most classic actors who weren't reprising their parts in favor of new talent in the roll, the crew found something else for Russi to do: voice a young donald. And once again , just in time as sadly she had passed by the time the episode aired. Just like her apperance on OK KO it was only through sheer luck and good timing that she got to be a part of this and god bless it. She does a terrific job, as you'd expect and it was a nice way for her career to go out: doing something new with a voice she'd perfected so very well.
At any rate Della is apparently out front camping and Donald is moping about christmas. And this brings up a recent problem. See when the episode aired, I like most of the fandom, assumed the Duck Parents were dead. This episode was my biggest evidence: The kids are here on christmas, alone, and Donald moping in his room is clearly supposed to parallel Dewey doing the same because Della, while not dead, is lost to him.
So here comes Art of Ducktales (Or specifically the suplimental interviews I didn't get because I only bought the standard edition because it was almost double the dollary doos. Thankfully fine folks like you put the info from it out there and yeah.. turns out Quackmore and Hortense are alive.

YEAH. I mean i'm fine with it as had Disney not pulled a Disney, and maybe with someone compitent in charge we might get a second chance at season 4, we would've gotten an episode with one of my faviorite disney Ducks and the husband whose atomic hate sex helped them create two of my other faviorite ducks. And Grandma Duck, whose just the best. But even then it raises a LOT of questions that, given the show is over and MAY not come back even with Iger in charge now, I don't think Matt considered when he dropped this fucking bombshell.
Why did they live with scrooge so much then? (As kids anyway). Why did it seem like Scrooge saw them? Did the triplets know them? Did they know Della was lost and if so howd they react? Do they know she's alive? Do they know they have a clone niece now? Why weren't they there at christmas? Were they just going to show up? Were they stuck in the duck version of planes trains and automobiles? Why haven't I written that? And do I know that film was about thanksgiving and not christmas?
We don't know..except the last one. I do but I like that film better than i'll be home for christmas and it fits the situation better. I like to think they were both steve martin and john candy was Goofy's dad. Not the point. It just kinda delutes THIS episode a bit. I thought it was about Donald being in mourning and having to accept that his sister needed him too. About both of them coping. Instead it's just.. Donald bein ga bit of a dick. Which is usual for him but not exactly as satisfying.
That's not to say it still dosen't work: Donald having to get over himself as well as the implication that their parents and Scrooge were both too busy, leaving them alone, still works well enough, especially with the irony that Dewey would give ANYTHING to see his mom in some form while Young Donald is just throwing it away, adding weight ot WHY Dewey is so instiant.. and his relization he's done the same thing. Sure he's in pain, that's fair.. but so are his siblings. And shutting them out is just hurting them. It's a godo message and still works, but maybe they shoudl've thrown in a line or something about his parents being gone just to make it seem like the twins were a touch less orphaned.
Like I said though this segment still slaps. While it's on the crew it came off like Hortense and Quackmore were dead, likely as a deleberate misdirect, it's still a lot of fun. There's a nice load of hints Della wanted Donald to come stay with her and hunt santa: the adult sized tent, snacks for more than one, the letter for him. It also makes her holding him hostage evne as the Wendigo is a comin make more sense: she'd likely cut him and Dewey down if it got too close.. but the answers are BLINDINGLY obvious and only Donald's own arogance and selfishness, rarely seen in this version since he'd largely grown out of them by the time we meet him, force Dewey to hammer it home.
It's still heartbreaking too. Dewey does meet his mom.. but it's not a proper meeting and he ultimately and tragically isn't allowed to warn her. Not because of some contrivance either: Della outright stops him as she's savy enough to know anything Dewey told her could destroy time and space. And the saddest part is there is no right answer: Dewey tells them and Della gets to raise her kids, live her life and Donald isn't under the pressure of raising the kids.. but it also erases the GOOD memories he has raising them and being their dad. I'm not saying Della going to the moon was WORTH all that, but I am saying it's the double edged sword of fucking with history: you loose any good that came iwth the bad and you can't predict how things will change. But your still letting something awful happen to make that happen and not break time over you knee.
The Wendigo itself is clever. This version, for obvious reasons dosen't have the creature formed from Canablisim. And yes that's what makes a wendigo in mythology. And marvel comics. Fun fact that's how Wolverine debuted: hunting a Wendigo and then ending up fighting the hulk.

So instead it's a being created by intense sorrow and regret.. i.e. Past. And luckily our heroes can beat christmas past turned into a mythgical creature because this is the duck family. This is an average christmas for them. Scrooge apologizes, which he really shouldn't have to and gives past his umbrella back and he takes our present day heroes home, where they celebrate with their family.. and Scrooge invites the spirits to join. I'd say this is suprising but the amount of people who have tried to kill scrooge that he now casually parties with is probably pretty tall. IT's a sweet ending though as Dewey and Donald hug with Donald welcoming him back, clearly remembering his help all those years ago, Beakley hits on the ghost of christmas future and we end on something truly special: Mike Peraza, who did Mickey's Christmas Carol drawing and end credits sequence in that style, nicely doing it in the classic style and even using the same parchment he used. Seriously he still had it lying around. Holy shit. Oh and Della wishes her kids merry christmas from the moon I guess that'll be important later.
So yeah as I said up front and will again Last Christmas is great. It's two great character pieces with a good message at the core: Don't push your loved ones away, celebrate with them, Cherish them. Enjoy your time with them. And for god's sake don't befriend jiminy cricket's bastard brother you'll regret it. IT's heartfelt, well acted and a nice twist on an old classic christmas formula. Check it out if you have'nt and have a happy holiday.

From August 21st 2023 to September 24th, 2023
I finally did it! This took me quite awhile to do because of schoolwork like I mentioned in the previous post, but I finally watched the amphibia season 2 finale! (And Polly got her legs!! - this is why I wanted to do this special piece in honor of mlaatr's 20th anniversary and amphibia's late 4th anniversary based on a scene from the first episode and pilot of the said show. Not amphibia, but mlaatr and the oh yeah cartoons 1999 pilot, but titled as my neighbor was a teenage robot)
Now again, I don't want to repeat this over and over again but I'll try, I'll really really try before November to watch the rest of amphibia! But for now, I've been hooked on bluey (It's such a cute show!!) so that's been why I've been too hesitant to watch more of amphibia. But again, I've been in more of an amphibia mood again so maybe I'll try to watch the rest of episode 4 of season 3 sometime this week ^^ And halloween is riiiiight around the corner, so it's never too late to watch the ghost and molly mcgee before October 31st, either! And since Xmas merch has been sold in stores that I go to now... maybe I'll skip ahead and watch the amphibia Christmas special without context sometime this week too mwahahahahahhh
Also Jenny knows waaaay waaay too much about the amphibia lore so far too, lol
OK BYE
