Alas. Ignorant of the reason you’re so dear to me,
I’m gazing at the bottom of the skies.
Who cares? Those lies are too heavy
for this empty body to bear.

I usually don’t like the melodrama that comes with medical dramas but I think house Md would be better if the characters got to scream and cry a bit more. House and Wilson should have had a full one screaming match more often and house should have gotten at least one (1) breakdown

i loooooove the aesthetic of the blink sharks in ethersea because it's like. sharks aren't generally scary in real life I know this, but fiction sharks are pretty menacing. in an ocean full of water that has been polluted by all the fucked up scientific/magical damage humanity has done, the sharks are bound to be pretty wild. they glow green and they fucking teleport. imagine living in the ocean and it's impossible to go on land. and then when you do come across a shark. it can go invisible and teleport like. indefinitely. you see a green flash and then you're in a sharks jaws. how fucking scary is that.

Merthur fic/playlist!
So when I finally got back into fic writing back in early October (can't believe it's been that long!) I started out with this four-part Merthur fic (it's one continuous AU where each of the four parts tackles an event that should have happened: in order, a love confession, a magic reveal, a reconciliation with Morgana, and taking down Uther). It's deliciously angsty and tender and the playlist greatly reflects that.
Excerpt:
Arthur's gaze is unnerving. It is wretched. It is impossibly close as Arthur leans in and their lips connect, a salty communion, a bitter goodbye, the sweetest of surprises, the sourest of reminders.
Arthur's kiss digs. It burrows beneath Merlin's skin and into his heart and shoves its roots in and he gasps into it, knowing that he will never be able to hold onto it.
Arthur goes to pull up, to pull away, and Merlin's hand shoots out instinctively, without thought, to grab the back of his neck and pull him back.
Merlin is a weak, craven creature, he knows. He is owed nothing save the other side of his coin. His destiny says nothing about love. It says pretty much the opposite, in fact, condemns him to be a lonely shadow to the greatest King to ever walk Albion's stones.
He should let go. He should let Arthur have his future with Gwen, his Kingship without nasty ties to sorcerous servant men who have three strikes against them in terms of love.
But even as his fingers slacken, Arthur's grab his and hold tight, tugging him close, holding him closer.

Captain Gloria
Or my way of making Ambrosius both a momma's boy and a neglected child. Because it's funny.
I hope you all know that Ambrosius mother in my mind is Captain Gloria, a 6ft tall aromantic pansexual TANK of a woman who got married only to have her child and keeps her husband (retired ex knight or whatever. Literally useless man) in a nice little house while she continues to live in the Goldenloin mansion raising Ambrosius (he visited his dad once in a while! The man in just too fucking tired of everything to care)
She didn't take a maternity leave with her pregnancy until they practically forced her to because she was COMMITED to her work. Like, don't sleep don't leave kinda committed, and Ambrosius may have taken one too many hits to the head when he was still in the womb so. She sees him more as a duty/pet/price than as an actual child and definitely has a really toxic and fucked up way of raising him but she loves him more than anything else in this world. Almost. She didn't really care about the thing with Ballister (mainly because she never really had a relationship that went past the physical aspect so she didn't really get what the fuck her son was going on about) but thought that it was kinda funny and he would probably grow out of it and become more focused in actual important stuff (being the best knight, for example!) buuuut she would've let them get married (in secret, clearly) because she knew what it felt like to despise what was expected of your love life.
The only good thing to ever come from her marriage was Ambrosius. Even if he was more of a demand than an actual want, she loved him.
She was born only to be the Captain, she lived only to be the Captain and she died in duty. Her son was born for the same purposes, raised for the same purposes, but managed to have a different life.
She probably would've been proud.
