#vent#i am THINKING rn.#my gf loves watching tik tok. i don't and i get a bit irritated and tired when i even hear the word#and she sends me tiktoks like every day or so#i already had to put a hard limit of 8 as the amount she can send to me in one day (yes. she was sending more)#but now that im working and i keep borrowing more and more energy from myself (im already in debt btw)#i really can't stand tiktoks. like i know it's stupid but i struggle to be normal about them#anyways. today she said something like 'ohh i have so many tiktoks for you today' (AS IF IT'S A GOOD THING)#so i just went 'mhmm' (i think it was the most peaceful decision on my part)#and we barely talked since. she didn't send me them either#ssssooooo#what im thinking about is. how she doesn't get that it's genuinely tiring for me when every time she sends me tiktoks i am NOT excited#and i let it show#like i prolly should have a talk with her and explain that it's mentally taxing for me (for the third time) but i guess im#amazed more than anything else#i do appreciate that she wants to share something with me. i just wish it wasn't tiktoks bc i have a very strange mental thingy about them#im like deathly tired. i dont understand humans. if someone wasn't excited about something i was sharing with them I'd stop doing that

Random note: my streaming services have been advertising the new season of Dancing with the Stars, with the cast dancing really goofy to some trending song or something, and I was *immediately* transported to the thought of Lena filming such a promo.

the disparity in kudos between a skk fic and a fic for literally any other bsd characters/ship :/
#like okay i get it skk is the most popular bsd ship by a longshot#but it does kinda suck that my skk fics will always end up being more popular than literally anything else i write for bsd#when i have way better fics tbh#okay i'm unleashing this from my drafts lol#like i get it kudos/hits/bookmarks counts aren't telling of how good a fic is#but out of my last five fics. my skk one has ONE HUNDRED kudos more than the next most kudos#and idk it also sucks that i know my skk is better than 90% of the fandom but. even my skk fics get significantly less kudos/etc#than big writers in the fandom who AREN'T EVEN GOOD#or are like. mid at best#i know in theory that the bsd fandom doesn't care about characterization but like. not only do they encourage bad characterization#it feels like sometimes they're actively against good characterization#even in j.jk and a.tla where there are major issues with bad characterization#more people seem to at least appreciate the good characterization. Just saw a post that was like "couples in rwby become canon when they hold hands as the scene's emotional focal point" and I'm just ???
Like I'd be far more lenient on this point if there was no kissing at all. Capcom games, as far as I'm aware, have zero kisses across the board even among canon couples. The closest I've seen is the ending of Devil May Cry 4 when Nero and Kyrie lean into each other before getting interrupted by demons. It's basically a running gag at this point
Not to mention the lead up and chemistry between characters are miles ahead of anything rwby attempts. You expect me to be impressed by lackluster, flaccid "canonizing" moments after witnessing Jake "Fuck you, I only care about money" Muller stare at Sherry like she hung the stars and saying in the most worshipful tone "You saved me... Thank you" as they ride a cart out of an exploding factory? And then to emphasize how much Sherry impacted him, Jake changes his asking price from $50 million per pint of his unique antibodied blood to a motorcycle and $50 for gas
Meanwhile, I didn't even realize that Nora still had feelings for Ren until V6 with the "Give me back my man" line, and Ren never showed any indication of being into Nora at all which is why the V7 conversation and kiss came out of the blue. Nor did Jaune ever show any romantic intent towards Pyrrha. These romances start and end at their kisses

my favorite thing in megaten is doing everything you can to get one ending yet once you’re finally about to get an ending/the option appears for which endings you can do it’s none of what you were aiming for. idk why it’s just the ultimate “oh shit well guess i’m doing this now” feeling only this franchise can do with multiple endings.

Hc that sometimes aubrey doesnt feel like actually bullying basil so she just tickles him instead. Or alternatively post game she develops kind of a soft spot for basil (and sunny) after a bit and sometimes will get bored and just randomly tickle him bc hes cute (will usually lead in one or more friends joining the attack, tho more often than not its sunny or kel)
Look, look, I am going to be honest. I have a HUGE soft spot for Basil, and the idea of him being friends again with the whole gang after the game is one of my fav hcs. I don't even care, da flower boi deserves some tickles and giggles and blushes as well 💛💛💛
And that scenario!!!! Yesh yesh yesh!!! Picture with me: everyone decides to meet on their old spot by the lake and Aubrey and Basil get there sooner so, as Kel&Sunny&Hero are getting closer they just hear a high pitched scream and LKel immediately gets defensive because "That sounded like Basil" and nyooom the rest of the way to the lake and when everyone gets there they all freeze because there is, indeed, Basil: laying on the floor and becoming a mess of giggles and laughter as Aubrey tickles his ribs with a gigantic smile and a "So you thought that you could sneak upon me, huh? That I wouldn't see you hiding in that bush and do something about it? You may love plants, but you did not become one yet, flower boy."
And Basil is just shaking his head and blushing and trying to protest but keep failing because of all the giggles that keep escaping because!!! That was not his intention! He just arrived and saw that only Aubrey was there and even tho they all were in good terms now he didn't want to make things awkward by forcing her to interact with him so he just tried to hide until the rest of the group appeared and he could pretend that he was late.
But of course Aubrey realized that he was there, and got the gist of why he was hiding and she wasn't really the most perfect person for reassuring speeches or soft comforting, but she remembered very well a game they used to play as kids to make Basil's anxious thoughts go away.
(She may not be the best at comforting but she knows how to make her tickles soft and gentle. She may not be the best at breaking the ice but she is good at perceiving which spots makes Basil's laughter more bouncy and excited and *focus* there. They may not be the best at apologies but Aubrey is good at actions, at doing her best to make up for what she did and Basil is good at giving her discreet gifts and not making a big deal of it and letting himself squirm and laugh his heart content without calling her out)
Anyway! It's indeed very hard to see a giggly, smiley Basil and NOT want to partake of the activity that is making him so happy so in a blink Kel is already by Aubrey's side, worming his hands on the boy's scrunched shoulders to attack his ticklish collarbone while Hero is letting out a good humored chuckle and Sunny is considering in getting into the tickle fight or just enjoy the moment (if he takes too long to answer Hero may let his Tickle Konster Side shine thro and get him. Rip our bois ♡♡)
