Fellas ngl I think my ideal Sky Mod combo (from a music narrative point specifically) would be
Wife Forever (Hard) > Sky (Hard) > Manifest (Hard) > Manifest (High) > Phantasm > Exurggation
The Wife Forever and Sky from High did not rly speak to me personally (her voice is just too different from High, its. Weirdly distorted in a not fun way for me. Probably ok as like bg accompaniment?? Or undertone) but I think Manifest High has a FANTASTIC transition to Boyfriend having the upper hand that would be sorely missed if you just had Manifest Hard to Phantasm and Exurggation, you feel? I will say that I think the musical narrative would be a better transition if Manifested Sky has a mix of Hard and High's voice+tone during the Manifest tracks and then changes to just Hard's singular voice after Boyfriend gets the upper hand in Manifest High, and that Boyfriend should have his normal voice until he gets the upper hand in Manifest High and then keep the tonal layering for the rest of Exurggation imo.

I don’t think the Rat Grinders are irredeemable or whatever but I DO think a lot of people are putting the onus on Brennan specifically to redeem them or “write them a redemption arc”, like yes it is a show and there has to be character narratives especially for foils to your PCs, but ttrpgs are fundamentally a /collaborative/ storytelling medium, the thing about DnD is that the players have to invest in the NPCs, they have to give them the time and space to redeem themselves through interacting with them, the reason we see characters like Aelwyn and Ragh get a redemption arc & change and develop is because the Bad Kids went out of their way to talk to them (In Aelwyn’s case Adaine had to commit to redeeming her sister on multiple occaisions). Lets not forget there have been other teen villains, like Penelope, Dayne and Biz who the Bad Kids just straight up killed in combat, who didn’t get redeemed. Do I think it’s fully possible that the Rat Grinders can experience redemption/forgiveness and it would be narratively satisfying? Absolutely! But, imo, a lot of the narrative thrust behind wether a character gets redemption is in the hands of the players, and it would be a little bit unsatisfying if being freed from their rage crystals immediately gave them all full personality transplants (like removing all of Kipperlily’s anger and ambition for example)

following on from this. not to always bring marc into everything (sorry marc) but if assen 2015 had happened against jorge, valentino would have very likely pulled something similar again imo. rather than what he actually did, which is approach marc almost immediately for a nice normal friendly handshake and backing off during the podium celebrations. should be noted that during laguna seca '08, valentino was very much committed to yapping at casey on the podium with the world's biggest smuggest grin on his face
partly that disparity is because jorge not marc was the direct title rival, partly it's because valentino was treating marc with kid gloves right until the second that he wasn't, which marc was seemingly entirely oblivious to. if anyone other than marc had said what he said in that presser, had then continued on with similar rhetoric during sachsenring, valentino would quite likely have gone nuclear. he's done it over less than that. his fondness for marc made him continue to exhibit uncharacteristic restraint... except that fondness unfortunately is what left valentino feeling so very betrayed when (to his eyes) marc could not leave well enough alone

Can u explain like I’m 5 what homestuck is? Google is not being very helpful and I think the best person to ask is someone familiar with the.. game? Web comic? How did u get into it?
Homestuck is a webcomic that started out as a "choose your own adventure" forum game where people could vote on what the main character should do next, and eventually was turned into a proper author-written story with a multimedia experience (because being on the web allowed some "pages" to be things like animated videos or Flash games, etc). The most famous example is probably [S] Cascade, which is a 14 minute long Flash animation that plays at the end of Act V and upon release crashed not only the website and its forums, but also megaupload, Newgrounds, Livestream, and even fucking Twitter due to how many people were trying to watch and stream it.
Homestuck is about a boy named John Egbert and his three friends that, on his birthday, receive and play a video game that ends the world—and subsequently challenges them to create a new one. It's incredibly long, emotional, and the cast of characters is very large with a lot of time travel, multiple dimensions, and (my favorite) aliens, so this description is very much just the initial premise, but explaining more than that right off the bat is an exercise in sadomasochism, I think. That said, I think the pacing at which the story expands is appropriate.
And I discovered Homestuck in either 2010 or possibly 2011! It's been a while. I vaguely recall a friend introducing me to it, but I don't remember who.
If you do decide to get into Homestuck, I recommend the Homestuck Complete Collection, which has included all of the old dead links/jokes, gif animations, videos, and flash games that were in the original, many of which have been dead on the actual mspaintadventures website that Homestuck was originally on for a long time.

Hey so I just finished reading your fic (wanted: dead and alive) in one sitting and. Oh man is it good. Even if it mainly deals with cursory interests for me, it has so many things I am personally interested in. Every character feels right, with a weighted balance that makes them make sense in their world, with consistent characterisation that really helps that weight. They're believable. And then the premise?? Oh my gods the premise. I am a massive fan of angst, whump and hurt/comfort works, especially if the comfort is delayed, and godddsssss yours hit the spot like a refreshing glass of water. And as someone with a (knowingly morbid) interest in medically accurate gore and mostly just medical procedures in general it was beautifully described. Amazing, 10/10, no notes apart from that I loved it.
Oh my word hello and thank you so much!!!!!
Here, have a cover I drew for chapter 2 when I thought I was gonna do comic book-style covers for each chapter (it did not happen)
