I know it hasn’t been mentioned in a long while, but Koei Tecmos work was pretty good in Samurai Remnant. The twist about the Protagonist was also really well done too. I know this doesn’t reveal much as it’s the same writers who worked on Houses/Hopes, but the main protagonist definitely makes a lot more consistency I feel since all two routes and endings are about Miyamoto Iori, with the last one being about his true nature. Still annoying waifu bait with a fox girl but Iori has zero interest.
I haven't played it, but I have no doubts KT can produce/make good games!
The thing with Nopes (and Fodlan in general) is how FE has traditional themes, and unification/imperialism isn't one of them, ditto with the "earl grey for everyone!" which means you can pick your leader and the games panders so hard to said leader that it forgets its plot.
Izuka is Izuka, Feral Ones aren't forgotten come FE10 because we follow Miccy and Miccy wants to liberate her country - Miccy says fuck to Izuka and his Feral Ones, period. End of the story (until Tibarn/Elincia/Ranulf gets to kill the guy).
Are those changes on KT's door? Given how IS, through Heroes, spinned a retconned Narrative to sell Vero - complete with "sad'n'lonely" and "surprise!brainwash" by a "sad'n'lonely" goddess, I... frankly, don't know.
Engage is a thing, where people take responsibility for the things they did when they were "brainwashed" no matter how "sad'n'lonely" they were (or are roasted for it) - and yet FEH gave us the monstruosity that was the last book, where a time-travelling sexy lady destroys the world because "reasons" compel her to do so, but she loves the player so much : that's the twist. FFS, at the end of the book, we don't even know what were those "reasons" that compelled her to destroy the world, or the snakes who pushed her to do it, the suppsoed "mastermind" was killed off-screen, and the most important thing at the end is how past present and future are merged to simp together after the avatar.

And yet, given how Fodlan plays and how Nintendo actually sent surveys to people who played FE16 something they never did (not for Engage!) before for the FE series (afaik) - I wonder who is to "blame" for Fodlan's writing, IS, KT, a mix of the two?
The lack of care (which becomes obvious when you compare FE16 to the precedent and following entry) isn't something IS has usually shown (I mean, Nopes' dev said he forgot parts of FE16 when he played the game ffs! No continuity guy in FE16?!?) - KT and IS's precendent collaboration was the first Warrior game, so why Nopes came out so... well, like it did?
If there is one definite thing I can complain and lay at KT's door though, it's the models (they're fucking ugly) and whoever decided to swap Rhea/Seiros's unique moveset (I mean have you seen her animations in FE16 when she's in her Saint class??) for a swordmaster on steroids.

i do like the way the boss and titan tracks work in frontiers where the music is more dynamic and changes with the phases of the fight but holy fuck would i prefer if i didn't have to cut a song into 12 little pieces that also loop with each other before slapping them into the game

I learned something new, apparently "chichin pui pui" is something parents say to make kids feel better. It doesn't really mean anything and is more like a magic spell (like abracadabra).

himitsu no aipri episode 1 (a week late)
it's been so long since I've written about a priseries (or any other idol) show... I'm realizing that I legit didn't think I'd ever get the chance again. I got tired of doing it before because I felt like I was either complaining too much (planet) or just happy abt everything that was happening (primagi) and thus had nothing interesting to say either way, but ever since watching aipri on sunday I've been looking forward to this... I think I'm just happy about new idol anime content after such a long drought tbh but it's something good that aipri has already brought us, no matter what you or I think of anything else about it.
I missed the first 5 minutes bc I was reading bad fanfiction in bed to wake up (nigh daily routine) and totally forgot abt aipri... then I did remember and had to sprint to my computer, but the stream kept stopping so I missed some critical stuff throughout. I liked the ep okay, but maybe actually seeing all of it will improve it?
ohhh ok it starts off with those cute lemon coords in the op. actually this does help, those coords are easily my favs that I've seen in aipri so far. esp Mitsuki's blue one is sooo cute... I am saying this as a person that buys every single blue gingham item of clothing I come across though haha. I will say that the coord & dance totally don't match the sort of sweeping fairytale (just mistyped that as dairytale. hm) majesty that the bgm and voiceover is going for, but...
oh, I didn't know that Mitsuki had a snippet of performance in here. I've seen it in gameplay videos already, I like it ok---wow, it's already over.

the first time I watched this my internet cut out just as Mitsuki's face was approaching Himari's. I knew what she was doing bc of the comic in the aipri fanbook, but still it was like, oh! looks like it's gonna be another totally straight pretty series show!
oh man, the op. the song itself is cute and catchy, but this vtuber's voice is just too much, and it gets more too much as the song goes on. I get the appeal of her being a "real-life aipri", and presumably she's popular so her fans might be drawn to watch, but I hope she doesn't sing the next op too..... oh you know what would be kind of cool is if every op was sung by a different vtuber. that way if one sucked we wouldn't have to hear them again, and they'd showcase a lot of different people.
Meganee is especially exceptionally cute in her op cameo!!!

Yusa Kouji-sensei has by far my fav character design in this show. he is officially my favorite aipri.

P.O.P.P.Y is a cute enough song. it's just barely on the listenable side of the line for me, but I do think it's a great match for what aipri is going for. also that is definitely a dance that was made for preschoolers to imitate.
buzzalyume... idk if anyone is aware or not, but buzz is a word that's in really common use regarding social media in japan atm. like you would say "that's buzzing" (literally I mean, figuratively it's more like "that's all the buzz" like the english use of the word) about something that's all over your timeline or whatever. so it's not totally out of left field for them to choose that word in particular, but it doesn't mean that it sounds any less forced, that's for sure!!

...finally, I watched it all. whew. I have to say, I was not wowed by it! but it was fine. it's far better than having no pretty series at all. I keep thinking "I'll put off my opinion till I know more about it" about aipri and I'm tempted to say it again now--in this episode we barely met the main two characters in favor of worldbuilding. it kind of makes sense as the first ep of a little kid show, but will the rest of the show stay at this same level of character depth? it's way too early to say. but for me, that's what'll determine how much I like it.

My review of AFK Journey after getting through Dark Forest 2 (level 70+)
So I will be honest with yall, I have been itching to write this. Ever since getting into this game a few days ago, I have been wanting to write a review about this game. Because something about it just makes me wanna put out my feelings about it in words. I will be open about this from the start though: I have not played it's predecessor AFK Arena. Largely because afk games just do not appeal to me. Even though many of the gachas I have played before this had auto mode in it, and had some form of AFK mode in it. (which means, you just wait for a certain item to generate over real time)
Starting out, I had some flashbacks to the Ghibli gacha, Ni no kuni Cross worlds. Which was a very polarising game for it's forced autopathing and heavy monetisation mechanics (which means you're almost forced to pay in order to progress) I remember how devestated I was when I found out how terrible of a game this turned out to be, despite my expectations for it, having played the switch game prior and loving it to bits.
What does AFK Journey have to do with this? Well, simply the reason that I was terrified that this thing would happen all over again. I was scared, but pleasantly suprised. I think there is a fine line that developers can walk on. The balance between keeping your player base happy, and making money on your game. which hasn't been done by many developers. The biggest company who does this right is Mihoyo or Hoyoverse. I think by keeping your playerbase happy, you can in turn make money long term. However, a lot of companies that develop gacha games, do not care much, and seem to usually go for the quick money rather than the quality of their game. Long story short, stay away from games developed/managed by Netmarble.
AFK Journey seems to be doing things alright. It isn't a Hoyoverse game, I am well aware of that. It has a very predatory monetisation system which I advice to stay away from when you are prone to or have an addictive personality.
Let's talk about the audio first
Yes, I do enjoy the BGM. It's nice to listen to and it gives a nice mellow vibe for when you're just standing there with your hero party (foreshadowing) I think they should add a few tracks though. It gets boring to listen to the same tracks over and over.
The voice acting is mid. The audio quality is bad, and the voice work itself leaves a lot to be desired. I've heard from people who played both English and Japanese dub that both suck equally. I am currently putting it to Hoyoverse standards, or even Devsisters (Cookie run) I know that. But I think that's the least a gacha game can do for it's players. having competent voice actors on the job delivering the lines naturally. It's not the case currently. The names of the current voice actors aren't even named in game.
AFK Journey is an afk game
Knowing this, I think you might know what I am about to say. Yes, the leveling system requires you to stand there on the map and wait for materials to flow in over time. Maybe even close out the game. Personally though, I have been hanging out in the chatrooms within the game. I think that's fine for a game mechanic. The bad part is that the flow of materials is next to nothing and you're forced to wait DAYS on end to progress. The difficulty spike is a lot after Dark Forest 3 and keeps on getting worse.
The chatrooms themselfs are alright but could be better. I still find it sorta weird how they allow nsfw talk publicly when there are definately minors who play the game.
The system with the servers also kind of cockblocked me from friending people who were placed on a different server, which is sad. I wish they'd add a function where you can friend people on other servers but keep out the ability to assist them or something like that. At least add an option to keep in touch with people.
The gacha system
Ironically, this is one of the best parts of the game. I like comparing it to the cookie run kingdom gacha, because it's that generous. If you're playing to get waifus I think this game is 100% for you. Yes, there is monetisation but I really feel like the gacha is so well done that you can do this entirely F2P without having to worry. Keep in mind though, I started playing during the launch period which gave me more gacha currency to work with. Even so, I think the gacha is great and dare I say better than Hoyoverse gacha.
My general impression a week into playing
This game is mid. And I mean that in a semi positive way. It is good at entertaining me for a while. And I suppose that's all we can expect from it. This is no Genshin Impact. It is however a sequel to AFK arena which was a game that has been pretty popular as well. Would I reccomend people playing this? yes and no. It really depends on what you're looking for. I think when it comes to gachas that are similar, Cookie run kingdom would still sorta win at least in the story and voice acting categories. I'd say, play this game if all you care about is the characters then by all means give it a go. As this game has very good character design.
Before I go I want to name a few positive things besides the character design. The community seems to be alright. Everyone is there to help each other, and the chatroom is a lot of fun to hang out in while grinding AFK levels.
Final verdict:
Great game to play for a month and then forget about. We'll see when the next update drops. 6/10

DWY review
As much as I love this show and our main couple I think I really have to talk the issues I had with it so that I can be at peace with myself and then go back to enjoying it with its flaws. Please guys if you have thoroughly enjoyed this show and the plot then do not read this.
This show, imo had so much potential to become one of the greatest hits of all time for me with its innovative idea of spell books, characters and brilliant actors and yet they ruined it with the inconsistency of the characters and undeveloped plot.
Episode 1& 2 review
The good-
-Okay I love their first meet it is symbolic and that was a killer opening for me. The cinematography, bgm were spot on…perfect amount of spooky fantasy vibe. Also the introduction of characters was great. Jang shinyu tapping her foot with his to see if she is dead or alive gave of his cold, stern aura. Hong jo’s humourous dialogue showed us her loneliness and her knack for dramas I mean watching dramas is the only wayout from her lonelinss
-The introduction of red hand was awesome. And I have read some theories from k-fans about the details that scene had. So it was perfectly done.
- Something I very much enjoyed was the banter between our main couple. Like it wasnt silly it had logic and humour and that made their chemistry one of the best for me.
- I liked how they portrayed Hongjo’s loneliness. She had no friends, family, relatives to talk. Her situation was compelling.
-The whole spell book revelation part was done excellently.
-Also the plot development for these two episode was really good.
The bad-
I have to say this the editing for first two episodes sucked. The aprupt scene transitions and scene placement made my head hurt.
Changes that should have been made-
-They actually made the use of the evil gardener in a very lousy way when he could have been a more compeling villain who is connected to our lead couple in the past. They could have shown us that it was his fate to get the main couple together while being the bad guy because of his past life karma.
- There are various questions like why did hongjo got transferred to the city hall. And I think that first scene where we are shown her handling a complaint would have been a perfect example for her and the evil gardener to meet indirectly and start his obsession for her since he recognizes her from his past so that he would have been able to get her to transfer to the city hall by using black magic or using his connections which could have been revealed later in the series. Because that transfer of hong jo was so abrupt it didn’t make any sense to me.
-Now onto Shinyu’s curse I think it would have been far more better if they had shown us him having blurry dreams about jang mujin killing aengcho on that snowy mountain rather than dreams of his past life love story in the first episode. Because the main point is him suffering from a curse where the gist is him killing aengcho the love of his life.
Also the explanation for his curse and illness should have been done cohesively rather than spreading it in parts throughout the first two episodes.
Relationships-
1) Shinyu and Hongjo-
As I said earlier I love their banter. You can see the sparks but it is still platonic and I love that. And even though they are destined I am glad that the writers actually worked to build their relationship.
Shinyu is cold,stern,rude and hongjo gives him back equally.
And that scene where he saves her from the the drunkard was an ice breaker for hongjo imo to trust shinyu and be comfortable with him especially physically. Like her hitting his shoulder playfully, cornering him in the office lobby are some of the examples.
Also he was very much attracted to her subconsciously okay.
Now coming onto the bad side of their relationship- For like one and half episode shinyu was written perfectly but then his character started showing inconsistency.
That scene where he told hong jo to accept nayeon’s apology was so ooc of him. Like he is shown as a competent lawyer and he should know better than anyone else that no one is obliged to forgive the person who has inflicted hurt on them and like what was his intention to do that. Imo he should have just shut up.
Look I get that he is a flawed character. But I also believe that a cold,stern, rude character could also be written as a green flag he needn’t always be a red flag.
Onto the next scene, where he hurted hongjo that was not ooc for there was atleast some intention for him. I get that he was jealous of jaekyeong and he used the information he got from his gf to be an asshole. But the fact that he says, “I just said what I saw” I was like dude you are a lawyer you shouldnt just judge someone with what you see. Though he felt bad about what he said afterwards, he never apologized and that for me is a bad character development.
2) Shinyu and nayeon
Like many people I also think that shinyu wasn’t in love with nayeon but I also think that their relationship wasn’t political. From what I have read from nayeon’s char intro, she met shinyu in his law firm while she was there for renovation work and fell in love with him and after that chased him and then they started dating. I think shinyu liked and cared about her enough to get married with her. I mean he seems distant with her but he is also polite and humble with her. Maybe the constant nagging of his father had prompted him to get in a relationship so that his father can shut up.
3) Shinyu’s parents(sorry i dont remember their names)
This side story could have been made more compelling but they failed it awfully.
If they wanted to reprimand verbal abuse then they should have ended it with a divorce or should have made sure that his father repent and grovel at his wife’s feet for like 10 episodes before that reconcillation happened.
Or they could have simply shown a couple who is drifting apart having a midlife crisis since they got married early and how they overcome it eventually.
Or they could have simply been an affectionate and passionate couple where a father is worried about his son being alone when he is sick and wants him to get married asap to have someone take care of him(which is also selfish but later they could have redeemed him)
4) Other side charcters-
I may be in the minority but I really didn’t care about Ms Ma amd Mr gong’s relationship like why does she have to get into a relationship when she doesn’t want to. But I love Ms Ma as a character.
And those coworkers of hongjo were annoying af. Yes I get that the writers wanted to show Hong jo as an outcast to us but they could have handled it better.
Also I like Gidong I wish they could have given him more screen time and his own story line.
Overall, these two episodes were more of a plot building for me. I had fun yet i was bored at times.

The ghost did his research before scaring the father. He read the latin text and thought “diwar pr dhamkiyan likhunga”
He is a hardworking soul. Chahe koi kuch bol lo, bhai ko koi kamchor nai bolega
Balwant hesitated for 5 secs thinking “paisa-lisa ki life, paisa ya iski zindagi” and then chose paisa.

As soon as the ghost possesses Lisa, he sleeps for a few days. He has his priorities straight.
The ghost is like a cat. Sleeps through the day. Wakes up at night. Gets snacks. Runs when someone spots him. Likes to open doors and drawers. Throws things off the counters. Eats weird stuff. He a cat.

Barbie movie tier list: part 3!
We're in the home stretch now! Just 10 more movies until I'm caught up to the newest release. You can find part 1 of the tier list here and part 2 here.
Barbie & Her Sisters in a Puppy Chase (2016): F tier. Mattel really said "Barbie can be anything, including a negligent caretaker!" With 8 talking animals (why!!!) and a complete disregard for shot consistency, this movie is only rescued from a "literal dogshit" rating by the rather sweet climactic moment where Barbie admits that sometimes even she doesn't know what to do.
Barbie: Video Game Hero (2017): D tier. This whole movie felt like a fever dream, honestly. The blocky animation style was kinda cute, and the BGM was nice at times, and one of the characters did say "noob", so...... minimal points for that, I suppose?
Barbie: Dolphin Magic (2017): C tier. The thing that really sucks about Mattel phasing out the "Barbie as" movies in favor of casting her only as herself is that Barbie is no longer allowed to experience any change, lest her character development cause complications for future films in the BCU. This means Barbie is fundamentally unable to play a pivotal (or even active) role in her own movies, and is instead relegated to the sidelines of some other character's A plot -- and yet, to bill the movie as a Barbie movie, Barbie must be given some requisite amount of screentime, which comes at the expense of the A plot's development. As a result, these movies are left feeling stale and underdeveloped, with no stakes and no commitment to the story being told, and Barbie: Dolphin Magic is no exception. No doubt the mermaid crystal given to Barbie by Isla will vanish into the ether between this movie and the next, and Barbie will continue to fret over whether or not she has the right to agency over her own choices. The kleptomaniac crab D plot was pretty funny, though.
Barbie Princess Adventure (2020): A tier. See, Mattel, you can still make awesome Barbie movies if you just full send it! With fun songs, lovely friendships, a meaningful message, and a sweetly awkward Ken, this movie is a worthy homage to the original Princess and the Pauper that nevertheless possesses its own charming identity.
Barbie & Chelsea: The Lost Birthday (2021): D tier. Was this a good movie? No. Was this a fun movie? Also no. Were the songs at least passable? Well, actually.....absolutely not. But there were some highly amusing characters with unique designs, and the silly little gags throughout (like the weird vegan DJ and the beach vampire) did make me chuckle!
Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams (2021): D tier. I begrudgingly appreciate the lack of talking animals, but this was such an absolute nothing-burger contrivance of a movie that I find myself hard pressed to give it points for that. There was no reason this needed to be set in NYC given it did not portray any NYC culture; there was no reason Brooklyn Barbie needed to also be named Barbie; there was no reason for literally anything that happened at any point in the movie! The only redeeming quality of this movie is the pigeons, which were fucking adorable.

It's still wild to me that people will go to bat for the nothing characters that are Randolph and Fleche as proof of Dimitri being bad; we know next to nothing about them, they have miniscule screentime, what little we do know of Randolph paints him as human scum who'd do horrific things if it meant a chance at a promotion, and Fleche illogically only ever holds a grudge against someone for killing her brother if that someone is AM!Dimitri, with her completely vanishing from the game in every other route.

I'd say they play the same purpose than this random child in TS in Roland's story - at this point, both lords want vengeance, and they have to face someone who also wants (misdirected!) vengeance at them, smth smthg like war sucks because people die.
But it's completely wasted in FE16, because, as you said, Randy isn't a random or a civilian or a war orphan, he is a general leading an attack on refugees/civilians/randoms to gain more fame, and dies in the process.
Now, can we say Flèche's anger and death are ultimately directed at Randolph, who died for nothing and took his sister down with him in his quest for "muhrit" ? Or are we supposed to think that this scene is important because Dimitri, the Blue Lord, isn't supposed to fall as low as the Imperial Army - something he comes close to (apparently?) ?
And yet again, it completely fails.
Because for one Randolph - who also had a family and loved ones - we have 50 Waldos and Baldis, whose lives aren't given any fuck about.
We don't see a war prisoner, or an Adrestian civilian accusing Supreme Leader of having sent her/his wife/husband/daughter/son to death with a conquest they never asked and trying to off her.
Only Dimitri receives this backlash from - invaders who wanted to invade and suddenly remember they have loved ones so are very sad when their loved ones dies - Flèche, but not Claude nor Billy, as you rightfully pointed out.
And Supreme Leader never receives any backlash - or wake up call - from a real third party/civilian/casualty who could have done the exact same thing.
Emile mentions how, during her attack, the Holy Grounds near Garreg Mach were turned in a slaughterhouse, why don't we have any civilian who survived from that try to take a jab at Supreme Leader? Waldi's best friend? Baldo's mother? A war captive from Leicester/Faerghus or a conscripted Adrestian?
I laughed about it with friends earlier, and again with the teatime paralogue, but it truly feels as if only 1/3rd (since the church doesn't count) of the cast will face consequences for the war and suffers backlash from the constant fighting (they didn't even start!).
Whenever you have to deal with serious stuff in Fodlan, it'll be for the BL members.
The rest? Will sip tea, talk nonsense, try to solve "mysteries" and live as if nothing is happening in the background.
Just imagine how both deer routes could have been much more impactful and interesting - instead of being a recycled Billy route with a different infodump at the end - if Raphael's sister popped up to a War Council, asking Claude to stop coddling the Empire because their lands were invaded, her grandfather put to Aymr and her inn destroyed by the Imperial Army, or how Ignatz's older brother discovers how Adrestia is burning pieces of art and history and every material related to Leicester and Faerghus history because they want to push an "Adrestia Eternal" narrative. Heck, Claude could even discover more "lore" by picking a Leif route, sort of rescuing the people "handpicked" to become new Baldos and Waldis, discovering the secret of the artificial crest stones and maybe having an infiltration map where, lo, instead of receiving an info dump, they maybe witness Rhea being turned in a relic or used to "produce" artificial crest stones.
War BaD, but only when we can make the BL suffer for it, for the rest, it's just a bgm.
And even then, it can't be too critical of Supreme Leader, because she was made to sell alts in FE heroes or dubious Cipher Cards.
"Supreme Leader", "cute girls" and "I want to see how Faerghus and its knights will deal with the aftermath of the Tragedy while defending against the invading forces".
Tl; dr : Flèche and Randolph are named, which is a cheap way to make people care for them despite their role in the plot, but the demonic beasts and the civilians dying aren't mentionned nor talked about.
Hell, why do you think I gave names to the artificial demonic beasts? The game doesn't want you to think too much about them, but if I talk about Baldo and Waldi, maybe the fandom will?

weee question time! what are your fav niche 90s moe anime? things akin to yuna OVAs, and that good good slayers artstyle. (it's tiring trying out 1st episodes to see which are girlies having fun and which are just bad fanservice) one of my favorites ever is tenshi ni narumon!! would love to hear your recs!
preface: so i think i have severe brain rot because i've really only watched like, weird edgy 80s/90s OVAs aside from yuna. iczer-1, md geist, cyguard, etc. my attention span really sucks with anime so it's rare i watch anything unless i get like, hyper-fixated on it or i'm exercising (i've been watching heartcatch precure and loving that lately during workout times)
HOWEVER. yokohama kaidashi kikou is an absolute iyashikei classic and heals my soul every time i see anything from it. expanding out to TV anime, i think the to-heart anime is gorgeous and chill. i also really like the score to kakyuusei 1999, utterly obsessed with this bgm even if i've never seen the show or played the game lmao

Review Proper
Just something about this is weird. The manga’s pretty fluid on its own, but it’s kinda, uhh, choppy? in the BLCD. Although I’m not sure if Smoky Nectar’s a serious manga with some comedy here and there, 50:50 serious and comedy, or is a comedy with some serious moments... it kinda doesn’t work in the BLCD. I mean, SatoTaku and Junya did well during the serious parts, but they seem to stumble during the comedy or the parts that lead to the comedic moments. Maybe the comedy just doesn’t transition well into the audio adaptation. *shrugs*
Let’s jump straight into the voice work, shall we?
I was quite interested in listening to this ‘cause yo??? Juujin bottoms??? If Daath and Kai were in these tones in Kemonohito, I would ship them 100% lmao, but then, uhh, idk, Junya was kind of a mess here. We’ll get to SatoTaku later, but I feel like they didn’t record this together. I do not like how Junya drags his moans on during their bedroom Redcross donations because he sounds very out of sync with SatoTaku’s ministrations (this is only very obvious in the first, though). I think he also has a hard time expressing the deadpan humor Mitsuru has. Sometimes my mind wanders off and starts having thoughts of either Reio, Ban, or Shouhei potentially being a better option for Mitsuru. That might just be my other issue with Junya. He was a bit too low for Mitsuru. I feel like if he was in a higher register, then he would’ve been able to express Mitsuru’s feelings better.
Now, as for SatoTaku, the man wasn’t free of my suspicions either. SatoTaku was a little too smooth to match Anna’s equally deadpan humor. I’m not saying that SatoTaku can’t comedy ‘cause sis you’ve heard Sonna ni, right??? But as compared to Anna, Shinobu’s more dynamic a character. Niyama and Ginger also gave the cast time to prepare before a big change in moods. Huh, I’m starting to think that this is the same thing that went down in Takasaki Bosco’s Torokeru Kuchibiru. I feel like Makonyan or Ono Yuuki would’ve done this better. But I know, I FUCKING KNOW, why Fifth Avenue got SatoTaku for this.
Thanks to Fifth Avenue, I know have my ringtone set to SatoTaku saying “erro” in the Mini Drama on repeat.
Goddamn I fucking flatlined on that one. I wasn’t really expecting much from the Mini Dramas, so thanks. 👍
Anyway, I also have to say that the sound effects as well as the bgms suck balls lmao. FIFTH AVENUE PLS. The main piano bgm also starts and ends in random places. There was also this part where Anna jumps off from a fucking building to the floor on the ground, making a table flip. Like we all know how a table sounds like flipped, right??? It definitely won’t sound like a chair shaking! 😂 I don’t think Fifth Avenue even cared at that point.
This was actually a pretty decent adaptation despite the many issues I have with it. It’s pretty faithful to the manga too, although I would recommend reading the manga once before ‘cause you wouldn’t know what they were doing in real time without the visual cues. This is an action bl too, after all. If you’re looking for another vampire (the “biter” thing also threw me off a bit, but the “nectar” concept wouldn’t survive without ig) bl, I raise you Yuri Azuru’s Fujitsu de Fumou na Koi no Kami-kon starring Okitsu and Egu. That one’s a little disappointing on the action front, but it was a good vampire bl nontheless. Okitsu’s Lark was also a good comedic/spontaneous type, so that’s good vampire + comedy!

Ch5 in Zeus' route was a part that could have been left out from a narrative point of view, but Ch5 part and the climax part both had two elements: "getting sucked in somewhere" + "the story of the princess and the prince." taking that into consideration, the climax part of Klaus' route may feature a scene including "the charm" and "the effect of charm"…?

Chapter 6- Part 2
…I mean, they’re not wrong…
Wait, how much are these guys getting paid? How much can they even be paid, they’re borderline terrorists. Do they have insurance? Do they even have dental!?
…Did Fern just call Ace fruity?
Now that is something I can get behind, especially now that we’re in control again. Let’s go left over here and challenge our first Grunts in the whole game!!
And you guys shouldn’t have blown up a train and train station, but here we are!
Ooooh, this battle music…so grim, so intense…it’s clearly a remix of some kind, but I can’t identify it right off the bat.
But uh…huh. They aren’t wearing armor, it really is just some kinda hood-and-jumpsuit situation. Okay, fine, but like- c’mon, you can’t blame me for thinking it was armor, look at those overworld sprites! You can’t tell me it doesn’t look at least sorta like a helmet and armor, especially from the front!
Interpreting pixel art aside- there was some kinda…tooltip? Flavor text? I didn’t get a chance to screenshot it, but it said something like “Machines whir in the background” and…given the background right now, yeah dude they sure are. But what did that mean? Was it just some flavor text because we’re all battling in a factory, or did that actually mean something…?
Well, onto the actual battle here…given there’s a Grass-type on the field in addition to the Rock-type, Summer might be best to send out here. As for Fern, he’s having his Budew use Natural Gift, aaaaand…
WHOA! Super effective on Bounsweet! What Berry was Budew holding, that was sick!
Also! By now, the BGM’s gotten to a point where I finally recognize what song this is remixing: none other than the Legendary Beasts’ battle theme! And while I would normally hesitate to use a Legendary Pokémon theme for something like battling local team Grunts, given these guys have literally killed people and were planning to blow up an entire Gym…yeah, the intensity of this theme is very fitting, and so good to listen to, oh I love it so much-
Anyways, Bounsweet’s practically down for the count by now, we can handle that, so let’s instead focus our attention on having Summer deal with the Roggenrola.
And sure enough, on this next turn, Budew is able to finish off Bounsweet with its own Mega Drain! This is good, because it gives Summer even more room to boost himself with Growth.
With the combined Mega Drains of Summer and Budew, they suck the soul out of that Roggenrola and win Xera and Fern the battle!
Hey, don’t tell them they’re the ones who don’t know what they’re doing, you two are the ones that lost the battle!
I dunno, they seem pretty playful to me, being a circus magician and all-
