Finally got around to drawing all the narrow gauge... Only took 3 million years

i went into the itasaku tag and there's a lot of art of them with minato. (if you just went WTF WHY? it's because in the big favorite character poll that happened semi recently, they're the top 3 favorite characters.) anyway obviously i started to go "hmmm could that ship WORK though"

here is what i have so far

itachi and sakura accidentally time travel directly into the middle of the third shinobi war. this forces an unlikely team-up thing for survival.

i think itachi is so committed to his villain bit he would rather fuck himself over royally than team up with sakura. sakura is SLIGHTLY more likely to play nice but still needs dire circumstances as motivation. so maybe: they end up immediately in enemy territory with their konoha headband (sakura) and uchiha eyes (itachi) and become immediate targets. suddenly sakura is like "hey i need you to kill everyone" and instead of doing that itachi coughs up blood. she can point him at enemies though and he'll genjutsu them and that works great. like this

so sakura is like "okay i need your help as a more experienced ninja for my own survival" bc yeah sakura is a badass, but she's never had to go on the run before or fight more than a handful of ninja at once. meanwhile itachi is breathing better than he has in years after one (1) session with sakura and suddenly a temporary team up seems like a great idea. like yes he wants sasuke to kill him but in order for that to happen he needs to live long enough to un-time travel himself.

however. neither of them have any idea what's happening. they get into stupid nerd fights over details of historical events. they cite publications at each other. frequently it turns out both of them are wrong. they also argue over whether or not they should seek help from konoha

sakura: you don't have to TELL the uchiha you murder them all in the future???? just use your fancy eyes to legitimize being an uchiha so they believe us!

itachi: (silent internal emoting)

meanwhile jiraiya has picked up on the most INSANE rumors of a tsunade impersonator smashing forests and mountains and shit. she may or may not have an even worse orochimaru impersonator with her. jiraiya sends minato to investigate.

there's a lot of fanboy debate over if minato could beat itachi in a fight. and for the purposes of this fic, i'm going to say: yes, yes he can. and it's incredibly upsetting for both itachi AND sakura

minato, to sakura, while sitting on itachi: okay so if you ARE an impersonator, your tsunade costume is really bad

sakura: (TERRIFIED SILENT SCREAMING?)

minato: but your jutsu impersonation is pretty spot on.....?

minato: (looks down between his knees at itachi) did you do that with your..... sharingan....... mr. uchiha bastard?

itachi: (has never been more confused in his life. he's never lost a fight this bad. he assumed losing a fight this bad would mean he'd die. he's not confused about being called a bastard though. that just happens.)

then idk. maybe they tell minato they're time travelers and he takes them back to jiraiya. the mood is very "minato is strong and hot and friendly. this is both sakura and itachi's type they didn't know they had. but also. help."

jiraiya: hmmm well, this one's obviously an uchiha, but YOU need to prove you're really tsunade-hime's apprentice. tell me...... what are her measurements

sakura: (pulverizes a boulder with her bare fist) does that answer your question or should i demonstrate on something else ( :

jiraiya: wow it's a mini-tsunade no further questions!!!!

i think i want minato to be in the 18-19 range so it's right around the time of itachi's birth. they decide itachi and sakura shouldn't go to konoha to reduce time travel shenanigans, such as accidentally preventing their own births. it seems like itachi would especially be at risk for butterfly effecting himself

sakura: (thoughtful expression)

sakura: i don't say anything!

minato: ???? aren't you allies?

sakura: inside joke :) don't worry about it :)

so minato ends up their konoha proxy. he goes and researches un-time traveling them and then shows up and acts.... really charming? like when minato tells you everything will be okay, you believe him. and he's SMART and HANDSOME and once SETTLES AN ARGUMENT OVER WHERE THE RICE COUNTRY CAPITAL, WHICH MOVES ON AVERAGE EVERY THREE MONTHS DURING THE WAR, CURRENTLY IS. he's not even condescending that they're both wrong. itachi keeps thinking about him wrestling him down into submission and he doesn't know why. sakura is rethinking her personal definition of "dreamy"

sakura after minato leaves: this is SO upsetting. he's not even my type. i like dark and brooding.

Naruto Uzumaki

I think Naruto is pretty flexible with someone he likes/dates. He's got the kind of warm complimentary personality to bring out the best in you no matter what. He can sort of be with with anyone as long as they weren't 100% a carbon copy of him (similarities are okay just not exactly the same)

If you're someone who is more shy he holds the kind of warmth to naturally bring you out of your shell. Does so much talking without feeling embarassed or anxious so it takes the pressure off you. Is super encouraging when it comes to getting you to open up about yourself too.

He can be a little insensitive about certain things sometimes but it's never malicious or intentional. As long as you can call him out on his shit or understand, the two of you will flow well. He does learn, albiet it takes time. Makes the effort!

Naruto becomes a bit more sensitive and considerate around you the more he learns about your likes and dislikes. At first it was all about taking you to things he liked. If you enjoy them then great! More things you have in common but if you don't he wants to find out what you do like. Bugs you about it until you tell/show him. Makes it a fun time no matter what.

If you're more bubbly like him then the two of you are chatterboxes bouncing off each other, all laughs and energy. He's a competitive guy so if you are too then you can make a game out of who pays for the bill at dinner.

Didn't have money growing up so isn't into fancy food places. Is a local ramen man still. Ichiraku has his heart after all. So he's not going to be a fan of being dragged around to fancy venues all the time. If thats your thing then count him out. He's a street corner, local business kinda guy. Fancy places for anniversaries maybe.

In general he's just going to want to be with someone who supports him and who he can support in return. Naruto isn't super fussy. Compassion is a big thing for him in a partner. Also someone who strives to understand people.

Everything else is simply an added bonus that comes with being you.

Sasuke Uchiha

I think for Sasuke it's less about what he looks for in a partner and more about who will stick it out and be with him for him. He's a very complicated guy and not a lot of people can handle that. You have to be patient and understanding, that's for sure.

Like all Uchiha he feels things very deeply and with that depth comes a lot of pain and trauma he's held onto for years. Someone who is willing to stick around and just be there for him goes a long way.

Just be a shoulder to lean on, cry on and listen to him when he is ready.

If you are someone who is kind but not a push over (doesn't take shit from anyone) then that's perfect for him. There are days he needs kindess but there are also days he needs a kick in the ass. Someone to remind him of his priorities, that there are people who care about him and that you care about him.

He gets inside his own head a lot. If you're a bubbly person who can pull him out of that—he really needs it.

Even just someone who can make silly jokes and tell fun stories that make him laugh. Take him on mini adventures through the village. Little things to bring him back to life and get him out of his natural mopey state.

Sasuke will say he doesn't want to them but it's up to you to know better—to know he really just means he's afraid of leaving the comfort of his brooding.

He actually ends up enjoying himself. One day he does admit that to you (in the form of a gentle whisper in your ear).

If you're the kind of person who has a natural inclination to take care of him, he will appreciate you so much. Whether it's cooking him food or taking him out to eat, making sure he's sleeping or holding him while he sleeps to make sure he feels safe. All the little things to give him comfort.

Someone who can talk to him easily! He's not very good at opening up about certain things. If you start off the conversations and lean into certain topics, even by offering up certain vulnerabilities about yourself then he will feel safe to eventually do the same with you.

He needs someone he can talk to and trust but he's not good at establishing those boundaries and opening himself. He needs your help and comfort to do it.

Sasuke just needs someone who is willing to be open and vulnerable so he knows it's okay to be the same. He needs love.

And his answer were simple. Kogami didn't know the difference of wearing it inside or outside. At first, I thought it was some kind of a funny little joke, or I didn't understand the words full well (I'm not a full-bred Japanese though I studied Nihonggo way back in grade school).

But if you read the PPP novel, you will realize Kogami isn't fully adjusted from his traumatic experiences as a mercenary overseas 🤧. So he doesn't feel how to act just as he used to when he's back.

And ofcourse, we all know he and Saiga only emptied the liquor after long hours of chatting and Tonami profiling.

2. It's interesting that the writing team have taken the pulse of the fans during the Q&A session, thus some points in PPP novel is what we might've expect after all 🤭.

3. Some may say it's nothing new. As it seems the writing team pretty much remain loyal to the movie summary. But if you read between the lines, you realize how it is a bit forgiving & fan-serving, compare to the movie itself 👍🏻.

4. The locations...last minute alterations... 😆😂.

5. And ofcourse the last time Akane spent with Saiga on his detention cell 😭. She literally blame herself for asking him to come to them on Dejima in MoFA's HQ to retrieve the Stronskaya Papers a day after. Which we all know ended tragically.

6. She pulls the trigger. She question the justice. Which quotes the same kind of line from PP3 novel when she's writing her thoughts down in an analogue typewriter. From that scene she thought of Kogami's action and how Sybil judged him for that.

But in PPP novel, no doubt she puts into consideration the life of Atsushi Shindo and how he was used as a pawn, only to be a master pawn who puppets the life of another pawn like what happened to Akira Ignatov.

Aswell as Akira Ignatov's sacrifice. He volunteered to be a puppet for the sake of the future generation. For the sake of his brother in particular 😢😓😓😢.

7. Frede-chan's holding back and being indecisive to keep the truth about the mission to Kogami. Is like keeping her phone number to her crush 😹🤭. Sure, she's just conscious how would Kou-chan would react since she knows Saiga and him are pretty close 😮‍💨.

8. The writing team did a pretty good job by staying true to their plot work. They know what they're doing. As if taken up some piece of advice from Gege Akutami 😅😂.

9. The last scene is pretty much heart-aching but well executed 😘🤌🏻❤️

10. The General was a medical AI but I wonder if the creator of Sybil also created that?... how about BiFrost? Oh hello, Season 4! We're waving at you ☺️😀!

11. Many hate Akane for trying to control Kogami, again?! Let me get this straight, SHE ISN'T CONTROLLING ANYONE!

There's a MASSIVE difference when he a.) first pulled the trigger against Makishima (out of revenge) and when he b.) pulls that against Tonami.

Akane knows it best.

a) She doesn't want him to be a person swallowed by revenge like Sasuke (Naruto).

b) She hopes Kogami is back for the better but instead he acted again with his animal instinct which indicates he can still be easily outplayed by emotions instead of not letting it get the human out of him.

Akane still looks up to Kogami. She knows he was labeled as a latent criminal by Sybil. But the way Kou acted is like proving to Sybil that their labeling of him as latent criminal was right. And if there's one thing Akane isn't fond of, that is proving Sybil right.

So it's not about Kogami. It's about her campaign against Sybil's false and unfair judgement! So don't mock her! 😖

Lastly, PPP novel is enjoyable because a lot of fans are exerting efforts to translate it to English for fans abroad. Kudos to you all❣️

I think if any one particular Uchiha was destined to have triplets—it would unfortunately be Shisui. I can’t even imagine Itachi with twins, he is patient but lacks the energy for it. And Sasuke…well. We’ve seen how he was with just one. (Don’t hate me I love Sasuke 😩🥹 He was my original Uchiha boo, but damn was he an absent father for so long..)

Well let’s see here, Shisui is a man of many qualities. Exceptional talent, generous lover and his undying loyalty to the village and its people. He’s an amazing man all around. This escalated even further than he could have imagined. The pregnancy phase is probably his favorite, doting on his wife as she grows their cute little babies 😩🥹 spoiling her rotten with foot rubs and such. Taking advantage of her not being able to get up at some point and just eating her soft pussy as she giggles and then moans. Those sort of things he’s going to take full advantage of before these little hell raisers are bestowed upon them.

They are blessings no doubt, I don’t see Shisui as an overtly religious man. But I mean, he was gifted with Kotoamatsukami. The man thanks the Gods damn near every day for you, his family name and these sweet little angels you made.

There is no way around it, they’re born via cesarean section. As much as his wife wanted to have a natural birth, the babies have Shisui’s head and yea. Which also comes with mops of curls. But he perseveres through this for her, with her. She’s so out of it too, says the cutest things while under the knife and on a copious amount of drugs.

All babies are of course healthy. Two boys and one girl. Which is great, she will have mini protective brothers from the start! Funnily enough, the first out the center cavity was the little girl. 😩😍 So she’s automatically the queen between the three siblings. They all almost look alike. The boys are identical twins and the girl was her own embryo. The doctor had joked it was most likely she absorbed her twin; but they won’t mention that. Ever.

Yeah so, this is a lot. The five days in hospital are some of the most intense and painful days for his wife. They eventually go home and it’s not entirely easy for them. Triplets is a lot of work. Feedings, diapers. Not a single one of them are on the same schedule for the first few weeks. And while Shisui is hardened by battle; three babies waking up hours apart at night does wear out a man. His wife is the same; and she is recovering.

Let’s say we’re a few years into it now. 😮‍💨 These toddlers are some of the most high octane in the world. Shisui often considers what he’s done to deserve such blatantly bad children at times. Though he’s being mostly dramatic, they’re pretty well behaved…except when they’re with him. Shisui of course is the kind of father to be a child with his own. Having been robbed of his, this is the perfect excuse to be a little bad himself. And he sees so much of him and his wife in these beautiful little people.

If he prompts his wife for another baby. She’s gonna laugh and ask how many since it’s clear they’re not having just one at a time, but full litters. Luckily. The last baby, is a singular baby. The finale.

Madara Uchiha

🌑Be aware that there will be a very good chance that he’ll throw a dirty comment back right away. Madara has behind that cold exterior a rather dirty mindset himself and it’s likely that he’ll tease his darling relentlessly for their own perverted thoughts, lets them in on his dirty thoughts. I say likely because he has moments where he is very much not in a mood to hear your thoughts and it’s important for you to read his mood in order to avoid his bad temper. There is a certain amount of behavior he expects you to have so in important meetings or dinners he expects you to shut up about your indecent thoughts or otherwise you’ll get the warning stare from him. Quite honestly though, it isn’t like he doesn’t sometimes have a very dirty conversation with you in front of others simply to get a good laugh out of it Tobirama.

Hashirama Senju

🌳He chokes on the goddamn air whenever an inappropriate comment leaves your lips. Hashirama dearly loves his s/o but even he finds himself often flustered, embarrassed and sometimes even shocked with their dirty mindset. It happens that he sometimes just downright interrupts you to prevent you from saying what he fears you might say, especially in front of younger people. As long as you don’t speak your mind constantly, no matter in front of whom, Hashirama wouldn’t ask you to stop though. He sometimes even defends your attribute since it is part of who you are and it’s not like you’re overdoing it. He is reduced to a flustered man when you are teasing him mercilessly though be aware that Hashirama isn’t just a goofy man. Who knows, he might surprise you.

Tobirama Senju

🌊From the founders definitely the one who restricts that mouth of yours the most simply because your language tends to be indecent and inappropriate. Tobirama is a rather strict guy who often lacks the playfulness of Madara or the lenience of Hashirama. He views this trait of you as rather rude, doesn’t wish you to speak like this with others and in front of others. You have to apologize every time your tongue does slip and you get the stare of disapproval from him to make things worse, accompanied by a mildly sturdy scolding from him later on. If you two have a good relationship he at least tolerates your thoughts in private as long as he can, though he is stiff, maybe even slightly disturbed. It’s pretty rare to have him actually replying back to you and it’s always a giveaway for his s/o in which mood he currently is.

Tsunade Senju

🐌She has vivid flashbacks of a certain perverted friend of hers she wouldn’t want her s/o to be with for too long though her darling won’t get hit or beaten up. Mainly because they don’t go to lengths like Jiraiya does, your casual teasing and flirting is something Tsunade accepts out of love. Her s/o probably knows to keep what they say in check though because they have probably heard what some others perverts tend to whisper about the Fifth Hokage and they might have witnessed Tsunade’s frightening reaction to it as well. Her darling is most likely more mindful because of such accidents, more protective. Shizune and Sakura sometimes get to hear your dirty flirting and it isn’t uncommon for Tsunade to talk back though she turns a bit bashful after a while with pretty pink cheeks.

Obito Uchiha

🔥Whilst Obito is somewhat flustered when exposed to your dirty mind, he is also quite glad for you to still be able to joke like this. It's a sign that you must at least be comfortable enough to continue to tease like this, isn't it? Honestly, since it's just him and s/o, his darling is free to talk about everything inside their mind as much as they want. He's happy as long as they're comfortable around him. Sure, Obito finds himself going red a couple of times as well but he would be a liar if he would say that he doesn't enjoy their dirty talk. With him having to worry less about you accepting him, he's quick to turn dirty-minded himself and your mind doesn't help at all. It only fuels him more and especially if his s/o has a inappropriate conversation with him, he gets pretty fast excited and more touchy.

Shisui Uchiha

🍂Shisui would probably limit his darling in that aspect of their personality a bit. Sure, you two are young and he has certainly met a few people who think similar to your own mind. He'd like to refrain his darling sharing their mind too much in public since their way of thinking is often inappropriate and sometimes rather gross. He isn't exactly willing to have his darling attaining a reputation for possessing a very dirty mind and he fears some arguments with some elders from the Uchiha clan who might see you as immature and unfitting for someone like Shisui. If you two are with Itachi, it's fine though both will shut you up if Sasuke is anywhere near. It isn't like he doesn't share your some of your thoughts, Shisui can be very cheeky with his remarks himself.

Itachi Uchiha

🍡The thing with Itachi is that he is so secretive and silent with his own dirty mind that his darling probably never notices that he actually shares their mindset unless he actually opens up. It's a bit frustrating sometimes since he manages to stay composed rather well. Comments of yours are either ignored or received with a light and amused smile and that's about it. You are allowed to let your words run wild since Itachi is rather lenient and there is no one besides him you can talk to anyways. It's a bit funny for him to witness how you get visibly frustrated because he reacts so incredibly serene. If you decide to tease him relentlessly out of determination to get a reaction out of him, don't be surprised if he suddenly grows really touchy with a certain gleam in his eyes.

Neji Hyuga

🕊Neji just happens to be in a similar category as Itachi. Both are very much capable of thinking dirty themselves but it is harder to notice. Looking on how incredibly traditional the Hyuga clan is and how much they obey the rules, it is not a surprise that your humor is looked down upon by some members. Neji has been raised a similar way yet has a few friends who are no different and is also blinded by love. If this is a part of your personality, then he will love that aspect of you just as much. Even if he tells you to stop, it isn't even done in a scolding tone but in a gentle one. If his darling wants a visible reaction out of him, it's a bit hard since he appears rarely like anything else but his normally tranquil and dotting self. Neji likes to whisper his own teasing back into your ears when he wants to.

Naruto Uzumaki

🍜He has a bit of a history of perverted teachers and has adapted in the process a dirty mind of his own. Bad enough to occasionally earn the wrath of Sakura. Initially he is a bit shocked with his s/o as well since he probably didn't expect them to think in such a similar fashion as people like Kakashi and Jiraiya even if he is in the same catgory. Honestly though, he has a similar humor as you do and even if your remarks tend to fluster him and maybe just give him a bit of a nosebleed if you want a good conversation about your darker thoughts that's possible with Naruto. You decide whether you want to continue or not the moment he has a rather creepy grin on his cheeks. At least Naruto is mostly wise enough to know in front of which people you two should keep your thoughts to yourselves.

Sasuke Uchiha

💙Looking on how he spent his entire youth training and fighting to get stronger, he won't care much. In the worst case his darling will annoy him in which case he will make it obvious that he wants them to shut up and in the best case he'll decide to ignore his s/o completely. He has troubles responding to the comments you throw at him since he can be very awkward due to a lack of proper social skills but he can at least tolerate it. If he isn't aggressive or mad about something. Since he has mostly such a stoic expression on his face it is hard as it is to read how he feels whenever you throw one of your thoughts his way. You don't want to hear him attempting to talk back though since his inexperience and awkwardness shines through. Sasuke is a man of actions more than words.

It’s Just a Bit

“It’s just for a scene,” Sasuke told himself as he lay in his plush bed surrounded by many pillows. “We’re almost done with this movie.” He clutched one tightly with his arms and legs, imagining it as the object of his current obsession, Naruto Uzumaki. “We’ll never see her again.” He thought, but there was a burning jealousy seething inside him.

Yukie Fujikaze was a beautiful dark-haired woman with skin like porcelain. She was also a talented actress– one that many in Sasuke’s profession looked up to. This included his long-time coworker, Naruto, who for the sake of a bit, had taken a nap on set after being patched up from his stunts. While he snored away, she approached him, kissing his left cheek gently for a photo.

Naruto would have loved to have been awake for it. That idea only made Sasuke’s bitter resentment grow deeper. This wasn’t the first time he’d felt this way though.

After years of working with the dimwitted goofball that Naruto was, Sasuke had grown inexplicably yet undeniably attached. He didn’t understand why, but whenever anyone strayed too close to his orange glowing ball of sunshine, he despised it. Naruto was his–only his. Sasuke had it bad for the little idiot.

He couldn’t tell him that though. They were just kids and Naruto was a guy like him. Not only that, but Naruto very obviously liked girls.

This was only made more obvious by how Naruto reacted to the candid photo– blushing like a schoolgirl at the idea of being kissed in such an unflattering state. Sasuke didn’t think of it as unflattering though. He considered the image of his beaten blond drooling and snoring away to be quite endearing. The only unflattering part was that stranger kissing him. 

If only it could have been him. He would have kissed him better. He would have sat in bed with him afterwards and held his hand. They would have joked around and laughed together.

Sasuke thought back to the early days of shooting with Naruto. They were both talented in their own right, but they were strangers to each other then. He remembered when the idea for them to kiss on camera was pitched. Naruto was super excited. “Such a cool idea, right?” Naruto asked him, getting far too close. “I mean, what other rivals get to kiss, y’know?”

Sasuke gave in to Naruto’s ecstatic passion that day. The kiss was brief, harsh, and not very pleasant, but it awoke something in Sasuke. His character may have wanted to surpass Naruto, but he, simply wanted him. He just didn’t know how to say it.

So he didn’t. He just let his desire embitter him. He kept on wanting Naruto and hating anyone who got close, but he worried now that he’d lost his chance. Hi Sky! I looooove your fanfics! I've read so many of them non-stop and wow you really have something special going on with your writing! I saw that by the end of Eclipse from the Heart you said that if we had any sort of plot idea for fics we should let you know well... I've been brewing this in my head for a bit. There's a blank space between Sasuke getting arrested after the second fight on the valley of the end, and his last conversation with Naruto before leaving the village to "atone for his sins". You're very good with Angst so I thought you could have fun with the scenario of: after Naruto says "When you hurt I hurt" Sasuke cry, realizing that Naruto loves him and that he loves him back, but what happens is that Naruto has internalized homophobia besides the weight of his mom's wishes for him to marry a woman, he's so inside the closet he doesn't fully grasp his feelings for Sasuke. There's also this off-putting feeling Naruto feels about people joking regarding how much of a man he is, like constantly bringing the kiss between Sasuke and him, Sai's penis jokes, like that somehow would imply he's less of a man, and that bothers him. (fragile masculinity). So he over-reacts whenever the possibility of him being attracted to a man comes to the spotlight. Possibly reproducing some homophobic biases to over-compensate. The struggle would be that in that blank period, Sasuke would reveal to Naruto that even if no one questioned his masculinity, being popular with girls and such the truth is that Sasuke is in fact a gay man and he's not less of a man for it. So Naruto is forced to think about the subject as, he doesn't want to hurt Sasuke (after everything they've been through, never giving up on Sasuke would that be the thing that breaks them apart? That can't be it. No, not after everything), he opens the door to explore his own thoughts and reflects about homosexuality as he navigates his feelings for Sasuke (since now the possibility of being a mutual attraction is on the table.) the heteronormative pressure about him finding a girl, having children and the expectations of him becoming the next Hokage. (can he become the next Hokage if he was openly gay? would the villagers ostracize him again after finding that out? would he sacrifice everything he accomplished as a hero of the village to be with Sasuke? ) - IDK I think Shikamaru is a sensitive guy and he would pick whatever was going on between the glances of Naruto and Sasuke and would push Naruto to think about these questions. I don't want to say how to end the fic, but in the original when Sasuke leaves the village he says to Naruto "I didn't think you'd come to see me" or smth like that which could imply that their last conversation didn't go well, perhaps because Naruto chose duty ( his life was not just his own, many people sacrificed for him to scrap everything and not become the Hokage) over love ( assuming Sasuke as his lover ). Sasuke on the other hand would support Naruto's decision whichever it was, because he loves Naruto regardless. But he needs time away from Naruto. ( there's also this panel in Gaiden when Sasuke brings up the 'wasn't this the collaboration you wanted?' which sounds like his drilling Naruto a bit about whatever agreement they had in regards to how their relationship would be defined ) Naruto could experience disassociation once Sasuke leaves, which would explain his OOC's personality in "The Last" events. I always thought he was somehow out of it, like he lost touch with his own feelings and passion (Sasuke), acting in semi-automatic mode. Anyway, this is way bigger of a suggestion than I thought it was, you don't need to do it but I thought it would be interesting to see what you'd come up with.

You know exactly whats about to happen. A small wave of excitement washes over your brain a bit bc its been a while since you’ve had any intimacy and you’re somewhat curious about what this guy has to offer even though you know how you’ll probably feel afterwards. Anyway. You guys pretty much fuck. But it feels like you’re fucking someone who’s in the other room. He’s not a particularly bad fuck he has a pretty nicely average size/looking dick but you just dont feel him. There’s no emotion you cant tell what he’s feeling it just feels like. Anyway after you guys finish sasuke looks over and asks if you’re okay because you’ve been really quiet and you say yeah everythings fine your stomach just hurts from your dinner earlier which is partially true since you had some spicy food earlier and you can handle your spice pretty well but since you’ve been so on edge the entire night you kinda feel it doing the works on your stomach. He asks if you want to spend the night but it doesnt sound like he actually wants you to spend the night it just sounds like he’s asking out of politeness because it’s not super polite to just cum in someone and then kick them out directly after but you say that nah you have some plans early in the day tomorrow and you should probably just go home. He says aight and then grabs his keys and drives you back to your apartment and as you’re getting out of his car he gives you the softest “see ya” where you can just slightly feel some emotion in his voice but it just doesnt quite reach it. Anyway you go inside you go straight to your room and get in your pajamas and you just curl up and cry. Even though he wasn’t particularly a bad guy but his frigid demeanor just sent you off a little bit and the emotionless sex at the end was really the icing on the cake. And you just kind of feel empty and used like wow did i really just fuck a guy that i just met on tinder 2 weeks ago i feel like such a whore. You text your friends in the group chat what happened and they reassure you that you are in fact, not a whore. You and sasuke text a few times over the next week or so just to keep up appearances out of politeness even though you both know good and well that you’re not compatible. You dont ghost each other or anything like that you guys are still friends on snapchat and follow each other on instagram and you watch his snapchat stories and he watches yours but you just never really talk to each other again but every time you come across him on social media you’re just reminded of that really uncomfortable night

Heyoo I was wondering, would you ever like to talk about your characterization of the characters? Bc for example, neji, what would you say his personality is like? Bc I know he’s more reserved but on your latest fic he was also a bit of a tease so I’m not sure how he acts😅 sorry if it’s too confusing you totally don’t have to answer! <3

(I love characterisation! I'd be happy to do this, let me give you some of the things I keep at the forefront of my mind when characterising Neji.)

Firstly: Why I wrote that part about him being a bit of a tease

Neji is a confident person by default. He trusts himself, he knows his abilities, and he knows when he can win (most of the time). When Neji is sure of himself, he is confident to the point of cocky. However, when Neji is unsure of the situation or his own abilities, Neji is very hesitant. He doesn't like to get things wrong or go into unknown situations without preparing first. So, for the majority of the heat that I wrote about, Neji is very nervous and unsure. He's only had one heat before a the current one, and it was very different. But, after the kiss, Neji is a little more confident and teasing. Why? Because he knows how kissing works, he's done it before, he knows he's good at it. I mentioned in the story that the kissing was something of a comfort to Neji, and this is why. The confidence/teasing can only happen when Neji feels sure of himself. Hope that explains it!

Key points of Neji's characterisation:

(These are the things I try to keep in mind when I'm writing him.)

1. His relationship to his clan - A key part of Neji's characterisation is the bitterness he feels towards his clan. Between the seal, his general treatment and his father's death, Neji has a lot to blame on his clan. In my AU, his infertility and painful heats are also added to that list. This bitterness never goes away, but he does learn how to channel it towards those who deserve it (rather than poor Hinata) as he gets older. This affects Neji's life in a couple of ways. He seeks to distance his child from the clan as much as possible, he only see medics at the hospital, not the clan medics etc.

2. Enjoyment of traditional past times and general calm surroundings - While the majority of his upbringing wasn't great, Neji is at least well suited to the more traditional lifestyle in the Hyuuga clan. He enjoys tea and keeping a traditional garden, he likes traditional furniture made from natural materials etc. He also likes things to be calm and organised wherever he can. Neji is very much a morning person and likes to enjoy tea on the veranda early in the morning where there is no one to bother him. Neji also raises his children in the same way, although he's more lenient when they're older, but at first, he bans TV and boisterous behaviour in the house and prioritises manners etc. He only allows wooden furniture and handmade toys in his childrens' rooms.

3. Sense of humour - Neji has a very dry sense of humour and a pretty sharp wit. It wouldn't be obvious to anyone who wasn't close to him, but Neji enjoys making the 'under your breath' style comments that can be very amusing for those close enough to hear. A lot of people assume he has no sense of humour, but everyone does, his is just quiet and reserved for those he trusts.

4. The home self vs the outdoor self - This is a pretty common Japanese idea which says that a person is very different inside their own home compared to when they leave. This is absolutely true for Neji. He keeps his emotions firmly under wraps in public. No PDA, no crying, no mushy talk, nothing, he thinks it's inappropriate. But at home, he's softer and more willing to express himself (although he's still a reserved person.) Going out with Neji to a restaurant and having dinner with him at home are very different experiences, although neither are bad. Neji hiding his emotions in public is very important to his characterisation, I would say.

Also, to end, I once wrote a list of key differences between Sasuke and Neji, because I find they have a lot in common and I wanted to be careful when characterising them. Here's some of the things I had down if you're interested:

1. Neji hates his clan and Sasuke holds an almost unhealthy amount of admiration for them.

2. Neji has a dry sense of humour and Sasuke has a very strange sense of humour. Most people can't tell if Sasuke is joking or not. Most of the time, he's just sarcastic to the point of being rude lol.

3. Neji takes to parenting very well and very easily and Sasuke struggles a lot, despite both of them being just as desperate to have pups.

4. Sasuke struggles with allowing himself to be loved romantically but is okay sexually, Neji struggles with allowing himself to let go sexually, but is okay romantically.

5. Neji defaults to communicating nonverbally (hints, body cues, talking around something), Sasuke defaults to no communication (avoidance of issues, brooding)

There are obviously a lot more, but those are the ones that come up most in my writing and so I always keep these in mind.

Teasing in the sense, even when Sasuke meets Naruto at Orochimaru's hideout, that scene itself is quite unsettling. But Sasuke teases him, asking why he was there when he should be training. And is amused by Naruto's answer, he goes pfft (hahaha, like what?) I get these femme fatale vibes from Sasuke in that scene. Then later, when they meet again, Sasuke asks him he know his heart and vice versa and then says, Right Naruto? Very teasy. Even later in the war arc, Sasuke and Naruto both tease each other. Especially when they are trapped inside Susanno during Tsukuyomi. Sasuke implies that Naruto and Sasuke's lives are more important than others ( dissing Sakura and Kakashi) and then says to Naruto, you know what I am saying, don't you? And Naruto teases, just like him, saying his body also moves on its own.

Like I said, they both have inside jokes type stuff. Which I find quite intimate because they literally act differently around each other as compared how they act around others.

And I especially find it quite endearing because Sasuke comes off as more human in these instances and not a robot bent on destroying the world.

All these scenes you have mentioned, the way I see it was always as some different forms of 

Obsession??!!

Maybe....... Sasuke was teasing. But it was not Naruto. He was teasing, us, the viewers. Throughout Shippuden, we all noticed Naruto’s blatant obsession towards Sasuke. Sasuke’s side is very subtle but noticeable.

And Ofcourse, Sasuke's obsession always generate a certain tension between them which looks very intimate sometimes.

Sasuke meets Naruto at Orochimaru's hideout, that scene itself is quite unsettling. But Sasuke teases him, asking why he was there when he should be training. And is amused by Naruto's answer, he goes pfft (hahaha, like what?) I get these femme fatale vibes from Sasuke in that scene.

Just like every time, Sasuke's actions contradicts his own words, only in the case of Naruto (I repeat, it’s just actions..... In case of Sakura, both his actions and words were similar). The more he denies, the more he acts up. And most of the times his actions always surprises the viewers.

Just before they meet in the Orochimaru hideout, when Sai was introducing himself, Sasuke was thoroughly not interested or even annoyed by his presence and bluntly told, 'Get lost'. But the moment, Sai started to speak about Naruto, Sasuke started to pay attention to him and Orochimaru, Kabuto definitely notice this.

And later, he casually says, 'Oh, there was a guy like that?'. At this point, even I felt Sasuke changed.

But then, the moment he met Naruto, he just acted out completely contrary to what he said before. He was teasing the audience for sure, but with Naruto, I see this as an obsession to get close with Naruto, probably because he was seeing someone who was once close to him after 2.5 years, and wanted to say ‘Hi, what are you doing here? You want to become Hokage and why care about me at all?. Anyways, I am going to kill you like last time’. 

Naruto always looks complicated because he knew Sasuke cares about him atleast a little bit and was wondering ‘Still, Why are you doing this?’. 

For us viewers, am sure Sasuke's sensual approach makes our skin crawling. A snake-ish femme fatale vibe, maybe?? I think kishi did it deliberately for that very purpose to tease the readers 'What has Sasuke become? Why is he doing this!??'.

Apart from these, Naruto does know one thing for sure about him. That Sasuke doesn’t give a damn about anyone in Konoha other than him.

How did he know?

From the VoTE1 battle. Sasuke made himself clear, he was done with Konoha and all the comrades. But when Naruto asked him, ‘Am I nothing to you, don’t you consider me your comrade?’. To which Sasuke says, ‘You became my closest friend’. He even acknowledge that their bond existed back when they were kids.  

Especially when they are trapped inside Susanno during Tsukuyomi. Sasuke implies that Naruto and Sasuke's lives are more important than others ( dissing Sakura and Kakashi) and then says to Naruto, you know what I am saying, don't you? And Naruto teases, just like him, saying his body also moves on its own.

Again, this is another scene which shows his Obsession towards saving Naruto. 

Sasuke is literally telling him, ‘Kakashi and Sakura are useless, why bother saving?’

It’s not just with Sakura and Kakashi. It’s just with everyone throughout the war.

I found the following scene to be interesting and logical.

Here, Naruto was worked up because he lost Obito and here Sasuke was again asking him to ditch Obito and come with him, which is logical. Not everyone can empathize and cry like a baby in a battlefield. Someone has to be reasonable.

Basically I think it’s part of his character. He always stays focused, calculative and perceptive about everything happening around and takes the best course of action even at the expense of losing people EXCEPT for NARUTO which was evident from the way he wanted to save only Jugo and Naruto.

It’s kind of ‘I don’t care about whatever things you care about, but I do care about you’. I think this is kind of a mild Obsession.

It’s exactly because of that Obsession, Sasuke snapped out after hearing about Itachi’s true motivations behind the massacre. ‘I don’t care about whatever Itachi cared about (Konoha) but I do care about Itachi a lot and that’s why I am going to destroy Konoha’. 

According to Sasuke, these very obsession is kind of a weakness for him which influences his decision a lot. Because Itachi and Naruto are the only people who can influence Sasuke’s heart and he doesn’t want anyone to affect his heart. Itachi was dead already. Only Naruto remains. And Naruto being emotionally perceptive, he somehow knows that he is Sasuke’s weakness just like Sasuke knows that he is Naruto’s strength.

That’s why Naruto looks complicated when Sasuke asked, ‘I know your heart, you know mine. Right, Naruto?’. Naruto knows, Sasuke knows. But we, audience don’t know, unless we pay close attention to the hints. 

In Boruto, however, I don’t find anything special. Except for this one.

This proves one thing. These guys have been keeping up with these childish contests for a very long time, through the Letters or Texts, I don’t know which one. But somehow, it appears Sasuke is very interested to play rivalry contest with Naruto through letters than writing one for his ‘beloved’ wife and daughter. Funny. LOL.

It is because of that Obsession and Love, like you said, Sasuke doesn’t appear like an emotionless machine but more like a lovable boy who was lost in darkness.
