Black Doom and Gerald Robotnik are Shadow the Hedgehogs dads. Gerald is a (silly, slightly insane) old scientist and Black Doom is a two thousand year old alien who wants to destroy the Earth. Its not canon but Shadow's gay dads mean everything to me. They kiss and hold hands on the space colony.

Sheo/The Nailsmith:

It's really nice because you unlock it after the nailsmith asks you to kill him with the pure nail and you refuse and walk away. He then says he was wandering hallownest without purpose until he found sheo who helped him discover that there was more to life than just one calling. These two are probably the only characters in the game to have a genuinely happy ending

The nailsmith loses his purpose in life after finishing his ultimate masterpiece, his lifelong goal, the pure nail. He requests the protagonist to try the nail on him, but If you refuse, he will find sheo who helps him to find new meaning in life and realise that there is more to life by teaching him different crafts. They can then be seen sculping figurines together, and sheo is also painting the nailsmith.They share a common love for art and crafts and inspire each other. Sheo's story is that he was a nailmaster, but got tired of it, and put down his nail to pick up a paintbrush. I think it's beautiful that he could help the nailsmith realise what he himself did. They both also used to live in solitude without even realising how lonely they were, and I think it's cute tuhat they can do art together now :]

They are two bugs retired from their career and making better lives for themselves and they’re gay about it. Nailsmith believes at first that he has nothing left after creating the perfect nail and asks the knight to strike him down, and if you don’t, he meets Sheo, a retired nailmaster finding a new calling in painting and sculpting. They find a shared love in creating things and Nailsmith finds a new calling in art as well. The achievement you get for uniting them is called “Happy Couple”

Gay bugs gay bugs gay bugs (Cw mention of suicide) They both used to pursue their one passion in life: forging the perfect nail (sword) for the Nailsmith and the art of combat for Sheo. Sheo realized he could just leave that life when he lost his passion for fighting, and he found himself a new purpose in life: art. However, he always seemed very lonely, completely isolated by all other bugs in his hidden house in the middle of a thorn jungle. When The Nailsmith achieved his goal and forged the perfect nail, he lost his purpose in life and his will to live. He asks the player to kill him. However, if the player refuses, he can later be found in Sheo's house, modelling for Sheo or sculpting figurines with him. He thanks the player for not fulfilling his request, because he has found a new calling in life here, making art together with Sheo. They both express how happy they are to no longer be alone. This also gives you the "Happy Couple" achievement, confirming that they are a couple.

THEY'RE CANON!!! They're fucking canon!!! You can talk to them at one point after doing a Bunch of Stuff to get them to meet each other and you get an achievement called "Happy Couple"!!! Gotta love old man yuri

Right Hand Red; Hung Like a Horntail; Slip Into My Lover's Hands; Weeds or Wildflowers (written with the very talented @unmistakablyoatmeal); and check this hand 'cause I'm marvelous

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try. I'm seriously behind. The truth is, I'll never get around to replying to them all. I will someday die with a thousand unanswered comments. But I do try. And I read each and every one and they touch my heart. I'm so very grateful for all the wonderful comments I've received and continue to receive!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oof. I hardly ever end things badly. But there was one wee ficlet; lemme go hunt it down. (*plays elevator music*) Ah, here it is: Not-Forever Is Still Forever. It's not MCD or anything. Draco just leaves for Argentina for two years. *shrug emoji* But I like to think I've gotten pretty good at baking some realistic angst into the middle of things, if not writing angty endings. I prefer it that way.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of them except for Burning the Ground, which is an open ending. I'll be honest, I don't like the word fluff. I'm never trying to write fluff, which, to me, denotes a level of uncomplicated sweetness. Maybe others define it differently. But I don't think happy endings are necessarily fluffy. I want my happy endings to put tears in your eyes, to move you. I want to evoke different things with different sorts of happiness for different phases of life. RHR's ending is about a feeling of freedom mostly, of getting to face the next part of their lives without dread. Take You Home has a similar vibe but with them a bit older; they've experienced the painful and mundane disappointments you have to weather in this life that have nothing to do with fighting a dark wizard and everything to do with existential questions about who we are, how we go on, what do you do when it doesn't work out, when you've changed and you don't know who you are anymore. I loved ending it with all their friends, at a march for trans rights. Heart Like Neon has an ending that makes *me* the most happy. I modeled it after an episode of Grey's Anatomy where you find out at the end of the ep that two important characters got married. The whole ep, none of their friends know, then at the end they play 'Bones' by Josh Record, and you go back in time by a few weeks and you see it. When I wrote the end of HLN, I had that song playing in my head from the end of the party at the Weasley's, to jumping three months earlier, to Harry and Draco in Paris. That's a pretty goddamned happy ending. It makes me cry. <3 (Also the art that @bluebutter-art made for it makes me bawl happy tears!!!)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I was going to say hardly ever but then I *just* got some last week! LOL. Still, I'm very lucky that it's not even once in a blue moon. That stuff is so arbitrary too. I'm going to quote my good friend @elrhiarhodan: People... they're fuckin nuts. :D

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

LOL yes. A lot of different kinds? I want to try a little of everything as a writer.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No. I mean, I probably have a couple times over the course of my literal decades in some fandom or other, but they're not worth noting.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, several, and into multiple languages. I think that's so cool!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Definitely! In HP I've written with sdk, @the-starryknight and @nv-md, plus I once did a wild round robin with a big group of people. I'm not good at round robins, I've realized. Too much of a control freak.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

Drarry, totally. But right up there is Harry/Teddy and Harry/Teddy/Draco. Then Ginny/Pansy, Charlie/Teddy, James Sirius/Albus Severus (with Teddy too sometimes). In CaPri, I love Damen/Laurent, but @linecrosser had totally made me ship when Damen lends Laurent out to Nikandros for a threesome and also Auguste/Laurent. I also hardcore ship my own original characters from my novel. <3

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I don't do WiPs really.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Oof, this is tough. Pacing? Interpersonal relationships? Smut, for sure. LOL. I think I do well writing things that are transgressive or maybe even filthy with a lot of tenderness and compassion and deep, deep love mixed in. And I think I'm getting really good at making people cry when I want them to. Readers, that is. :D

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Convoluted plots. Can't do them. I wish I could. I can't write a mystery to save my life. I'm also pretty bad at heavy angst. I also wish I could write something nonlinear, but my brain just doesn't work that way.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It's interesting that this is a question because it's meaningful to me not because of fic but because of my novel. I have a Spanish-speaking character, fluent in English, but sometimes he says things in Spanish. I'm very VERY lucky that @capiturecs read my novel both as a sensitivity reader for Latinx/Latine/Latino aspects but also to correct my Spanish and make it realistic and conversational! I'll be forever grateful! I also now really REALLY want to learn Spanish! <3

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Oh this is mean. This is cruel. I can't possibly answer this! RHR has got to be in there. Heart Like Neon. Blood and Fire. Phoenix in the Fire. Take You Home. Wonderful Electric (cover me in you). Interesting headcanon for yandere Jotaro and yandere Noriaki, I also agree that both of them are very competitive, I think they will even use stand to "fight" each other behind your back or just simple using it to gain attention from you. I see Noriaki might use Hierophant Green to trip you so he can be the one help you stand up and take care of you. For Jotaro, I have this headcanon for him, he actually a good artist, do you remember how great his drawing about the fly in Egypt. I think he will use Star Platinum to help capture your beauty in his art and he will give you the best art to show how he adore and love you (after so many drawings, I headcanon he has a sketchbook full of art about you).

I know you said it's not high chance they will corporate together but I think if they do it, they will be unstoppable. The protective side of Jotaro and the manipulate side of Noriaki combine perfectly together. Do you think they will corporate if some special situation happen, for example another person also interested in you and try to steal you from them?

Really, the only thing stopping them from being an unstoppable force together is their differing views on what to do with you. If they weren’t so firm on their position, you’d be sitting between them every day for lunch listening to Noriaki like he’s a podcast.

You’re so right about Noriaki tripping you so he can play prince charming. He might even grab you with hierophant green to move you as he sees fit. Too handsy with someone else? Hands are suddenly kept to yourself at your sides. You can’t see stands, he thinks, so it’s harmless. It must be a little muscle tick or something. Are you feeling well? He doesn’t mind giving you some extra attention and care.

That’s a cute headcannon for Jotaro, actually. He probably taught himself how to draw alone in his room. I don’t really think Jotaro was into videogames or sports in his youth, canonically he knows how to play neither of them, so he spends his free time drawing and listening to music or watching movies. He probably learned how to draw from those books about airplanes and ships he reads, he sketches like an engineer would. When he meets you, his sketchbook slowly goes from ships and fish to teaching himself how to draw humans, with you as his main model. It’s entirely from memory, so your nose might be a bit off, or maybe the length of your nails, but he’ll get it eventually. Suppose it doesn’t matter, since he hides his sketchbook in all of his school things so his mother doesn’t find it and fuss over her baby finally having a crush.

Noriaki hates that. He hates it so much that he’s adamant on actually showing you his own “sketches.” (Completed pieces with thirty hours put into them.) Look, he got every detail about you perfect. Isn’t it lovely? He loves painting stills of you doing what you love. This way, if Jotaro ever does show you his little drawings, it’s like he’s copying Noriaki’s hobbies at a beginner's level. He's happy to give Jotaro some tips if he asks!

They absolutely would work together if someone else tried making a move on you, undeniably. Noriaki only lets Jotaro have his little fantasy of playing hero and protecting you because he’s useful for keeping lowlifes away. Jotaro allows Noriaki’s crush because he thinks Noriaki isn’t bold enough to really tell you how he feels. It’s like a “enemy of my enemy is my friend” kind of situation, to them. Their friendship was going very well before you came into their life, they bonded enough to respect each other, but you’re certainly a stressor on whatever sense of friendship they had.

Noriaki is fairly happy to let Jotaro do the dirty work and claim to be nothing like him. Jotaro scares off any potential suitors with his presence, his body language is practically screaming “Fuck off.” If someone’s stupid enough to persist after Jotaro’s initial warnings, then they’re in for a beating. If they STILL persist after that, Noriaki will step in.

Since controlling outside elements isn’t working, it’s time to work from the inside out. He’ll make passive aggressive comments to you about the person, but mask it as just regular social shaming. You can’t blame him for talking badly, he doesn’t mean to be rude, it’s just.. Have you seen the way they talk to our teachers? They don’t participate in classroom cleaning at all, either.

If that still doesn’t work, and their darling doesn’t pick up on their “hints”... Well, they suppose they can make a deal of some kind.

KH OC Week Day 1

Hello! How fun that KH OC Week is finally here! Actually, even though I've known about it since it started, I've never actually taken part in it. But I'm trying it! I'm trying so hard! I've been writing for a very long time, but only started dabbling in KH-related stuff because of @hinataoc. My characters were really originally mostly made to help support her characters and her stories, but the ol' writing bug would bite me every here and there and eventually I started writing little stories and adventures of my own for them. I've got a few now, but this week I think I'll just focus on the two OCs that started this journey for me. So... uh, here we go.

Day 1: Introductions

◾Tell us about your OC!

To start off my first OC Week, I’d like to introduce two of my characters - Velcia and Velcia! …Wait, what?

Yes, I’m afraid that it may seem a bit confusing at first. Both characters share the same name and very similar appearances, but they are in fact very different people! So let me introduce them both and tell you a bit about each one.

First, credit to the amazing @amyhayanora for the wonderful art of these two for me! She did such a good job of bringing them to life.

Now, to get started! On the left we have the first “Velcia”, who lived in Daybreak Town as a Keyblade Wielder up until the Keyblade War.

KHx-Era Velcia:

Her true name is “Valencia Florere”, but when she arrived in Daybreak Town all alone at the age of 3 years old she was unable to pronounce her own name properly. Nobody in Daybreak Town could have known otherwise, and so her mispronunciation “Velcia” was how she was known. For just this one introduction, I’ll use her ‘real name’, though don’t expect her to recognize it!!

As a toddler, Valencia was rescued from the Lanes Between Worlds by The Master of Masters, who did not deem fit to provide to anyone else an explanation of how she ended up there. Not having the faculty to raise a babbling baby, The Master of Masters created a digital data world modeled after Enchanted Dominion. This snippet of a world was completely devoid of danger, and it was here that Valencia was raised alongside a digital Aurora by the Good Fairies.

Pleasant and peaceful though it was, being raised by digital facsimiles of real people does tend to leave one a little odd, and by time Valencia was old enough to leave this fictional nursery she was quite an odd girl indeed.

Shy, awkward, and almost entirely lacking in social skills, Valencia was nonetheless an aspiring artist who quickly honed her craft as she worked to document as many Wielders and events in Daybreak Town as she could as a sort of reclusive self-styled historian. Her fingers and hands usually have pencil smears on the sides from all her drawing. She does wipe them off constantly, but she’s also drawing constantly so it’s a bit of a self-defeating endeavor.

She doesn’t try to be annoying or obnoxious but has a vague sense that there are things that she does that bother other people that she can’t really seem to change. This leaves her with a bit of a lack of confidence, but she’s always so eager to learn more and add more things to her books she pushes past her awkwardness anyway.

Poor Valencia is terrible at fighting and quite a pushover, who did her best to stick to the periphery and hope nobody would notice her working quickly to sketch them into one of her many books. It wasn’t until she finally met a young man named Balthazar that she was really able to find a stable friend and companion.

Valencia found she had a strong affinity for the World of Olympus, dearly loving everything about it. Of all the Projected Worlds, Olympus was where she spent the most time and as soon as she was able she bought a set of Olympian Robes from the Moogle in Daybreak Town; but stuck to wearing her more familiar boots, pants, and other various accessories. She didn’t know what her true homeworld was supposed to be, but she hoped beyond hope it could be Olympus.

The events leading up to the Keyblade War were nearly as devastating to Valencia as the War itself, and during the war she was struck with what should have been a fatal blow and left for dead - but a very odd thing happened. An unusual Heartless appeared on the battlefield and whisked her away from the chaos, bringing her to Olympus and healing her before ultimately being destroyed.

Now living on the world of her dreams, Valencia eventually managed to put the traumas of her past behind her and start a family. Her now-powerless Keyblade and the name “Velcia” were both passed down through the generations, and each time one “Velcia” passed away the next-born daughter received the name and the heirloom Keyblade, and after some time that brings us to…

KHII-Era Velcia

Velcia Anthes, daughter of Hephestus and Ioanna Anthes, was raised in Thebes as a Potion-Maker and Alchemist by her father after her mother mysteriously vanished when she was two years old. Named after her Keyblade-Wielding Ancestor from her mother’s side, Velcia received the Heirloom Keyblade and grew up hearing stories of wielders from her grandmother and marveling at the tales.

Coming from a family of scholars on her father’s side, Velcia is keenly interested in learning everything she can about the fundamentals of both magic and potion-making; and her devotion to learning magic hit an all-time high after her father and cousin were killed by Vanitas during the events of KH:BBS.

After this, she was taken in by her aunt and uncle who helped her to stay strong and focus on her studies as they worked together to overcome the pain of losing their loved ones. Thanks in no small part to their support and the integrity of her father, Velcia is kind, graceful, and has every bit of the elegance that her KHx-era ancestor lacked; but most of all she is driven and determined to help anybody she can, especially if it means they can avoid the sorts of losses she dealt with growing up.

Thanks to time spent participating in events at the Coliseum when she was younger, Velcia combined her effective if rudimentary physical fighting skills with her growing array of spells to become a competent red mage who was very confident in her magic abilities. In her mid-twenties during the events of KHII, Velcia thought that her life as a potion-maker was perhaps all she would ever be.

One fateful day she meets a visitor from another world named Samantha, and almost the next thing Velcia realizes she’s being asked to come use her magical powers and knowledge to help Sam and Hinata chase down a dangerous Replica called Thaanix. This, it turns out, is only the start of her adventures…

I will include answers for both Velcias going forward for the rest of the week, but will likely have more information and pictures posted for the Modern-Era Velcia as I have more stories and art for her. Truth be told, the picture above is really the only proper picture of KHx-Era Velcia I have! Thank you for reading these little bits about my characters, I really hope you’ve enjoyed them.

Actually did some art for once, so. Woo! It's been a while, kinda been just idling trying to figure out how to make good 3d models, but I decided that like. Yeah I should just try making some 2d stuff because it's been a while. And I did. And I enjoyed it.

There's two, a Warframe character and a D&D character, don't know if I should be splitting this up into two posts but like. There's not really a tutorial or anything for using Tumblr as far as I'm aware and it seems unlikely many people will see this anyway so even if it's a bit bothersome, it shouldn't be Too bothersome.

Anyways, first one, this is Damhnait, named after the singer for Sleeping in the Cold Below. They're my Tenno OC because Warframe has been taking up my time in Destiny's stead now that the sunk cost fallacy's not holding me down. They're a bit of a bigger kid compared to a lot of the others on the Zariman, and because of that they felt responsible when everything went to shit, and tried to keep at least their little group together, which they managed pretty well, eventually ending up starting a clan and building a dojo with their friends.

Fast forwards a bit after first waking up, they're... not doing so hot as a faceless super soldier still, but they're not doing terribly, more just strangely empty as they go about their life up until the point the Second Dream happens.

They aren't the one who makes the discovery but to be fair it doesn't matter that much when you find out everything you thought you knew about yourself was built up on a lie, that lie being the idea that you and the people you are ordering to fight are adults and not a bunch of literal child soldiers.

Obviously, they are not exactly Okay after that little revelation and have not Transferred back into any of their Warframes even Once after recovering their real body, instead being carried around like in the Second Dream most of the time, also not being the most physically healthy just in general and due to that being pretty much wheelchair bound. I mean. If that wheelchair was a humanoid-killing machine capable of magnetizing people's bones.

Anyways, I tried to base them off their look in game a decent amount but obviously it's not perfect, their scars especially bother me but I haven't figured out texture for any of my other drawings and I'm certainly not stopping now.

And now onto something relatively more lighthearted, Cosgrove, named after Matt Cosgrove who plays on the TTRPG channel the Third Wheel and also made a bunch of character songs for the PCs and NPCs. He's one of my current player characters, a Wild Magic Sorcerer who had a very normal homelife with parents who love him and a dog and went to Magic Highschool and Magic College just like anyone else, eventually graduating with an ethics degree and becoming a workplace health and safety inspector for the Nine Shrines Merchant's Guild with a serious disposition and a desire to help others.

Only... well, this is a D&D character, so obviously there's problems. Not from what you might think though, this man's as straight-laced and surprisingly average as they come, with a loving family, a decent social life, a stable job, a home to come back to, etc. The only real issue is something he's dealt with his entire life, his magic, something wild and uncontrollable that he's grown to resent over the years, which is what even lead to most of his decisions, to his need for control over himself and deeply unhealthy level of responsibility for others even when reasonably he should be looking out for himself.

He joined the party, not because of his own goals or motivations, but because his best friend, my previous character Indrina Morea, ended up getting seriously messed up in the first fight she was in, not enough to kill her but enough for her to realize that she was not enough for the party as it stood then and there, and for her to make the decision to ask for help, going to the most capable person she knew, who she also knew was a strong magic user even if he actively avoided using any magic.

He's got a deeply unhealthy mindset for an adventurer obviously, adventurers are so deeply varied but they almost all Want things, have their own wants and desires, don't hesitate in dangerous situations and act on their instincts. Cosgrove though... he freezes up, he refuses to use magic unless given proper authorization by either the leader of the party or the highest rank ally available. He uses a gun in most of his fights and doesn't even Have a damaging spell.

He's the weakest link in the party, and the rest of the party doesn't Know it yet, even to him, while it's obvious he isn't exactly suited he doesn't know the extent of it, and it's going to be made Very Clear through various fights, getting singled out and having his weaknesses taken advantage of, and through it all he'll either sink on his own or the other party members will recognize what's going on and push him to start swimming. It's all a matter of whether they'll see the dangers and flaws of his current mindset before it's too late.

As you can tell by... well, all of that, I have a lot more to say about Cosgrove than I do about Damhnait, which makes sense because he's a character that's actively doing stuff and not just in my head while leveling up random items. As for his design, it's pretty simple and formal. I wanted to really hammer home how out of his depth he is here by making him... well, an office worker.

He doesn't look like some hero or even particularly fantastical, he's just a guy, he Wants to be just a guy, he's rejecting himself to be that and he's covered it up so well that if the rest of the party hadn't actively seen him using magic in combat they wouldn't even know. I also largely took inspiration from, well, two Jujutsu Kaisen characters, Nanami and a guy from the manga who I'm not gonna spoil in case any of my friends who wants to watch/read the series read this.

Anyways, that's the two of them. Who knows, maybe I'll post more within a semi-reasonable time-frame if I finish up more pics soon. I have been thinking about drawing my other active and soon to be active D&D characters, and maybe when I get more comfortable with art again I can start doing more complex things than just headshots, all just kinda depends.

At least I'm not working with MS Paint now.

Hey anon, thanks for the ask and thanks also to @messofthejess for tagging me to do this! I’m always awkward with any kind of self-promo but here goes.

Always the Sun (Teen, 11K) Baz Pitch is a well-recognized face and name in the intense world of high fashion. Fashion Week finds him unexpectedly thrust into forced proximity with Simon Snow, the inexperienced model who has become Watford's new face and director Mage's new protege.

Self-indulgent fluff. I had the best time writing this—their game of 20 questions particularly and I always love writing flustered Baz.

Little Secrets (Teen 2.5K) Simon joins a Live Action Role Play club and meets Baz there. Penny knows nothing about it and attempts to introduce them, since she's friends with Baz. In an effort to get out of telling her about the LARPing Simon gets himself in far more of a situation with the story he concocts. Baz decides to role play along with him.

Short one shot written in response to a tumblr prompt. I had such fun including all the canon call backs and having Baz just run with Simon’s story.

Let My Love Open the Door (Teen, 12K) Baz is a teacher quarantined at home and Simon is doing temp work delivering food for The Girl and the Goat, a local pub. A craving for a burger leads to Baz ordering from the pub, followed by weeks of mutual pining, the slow burn of a developing relationship thwarted by the physical constraints of social distancing, and a refrigerator full of pub food.

A completely self-indulgent, fluffy quarantine fic with mutual pining, wingman Agatha, and erotic hand holding. And flustered Baz. Again.

Bad Case of Loving You (Teen, 8K) Medical AU where Simon is an A&E (Emergency Room) physician and Baz is a surgeon. A miserable day and night on call bring Simon and Baz to some realizations about themselves and each other--amid medical emergencies, automobile wrecks, and call room mishaps.

This fic brought my fandom favorites into my world, into my line of work. They fell into this medical AU so easily and made me laugh so much as I was writing it.

Can’t Find My Way Home (Teen, 65K) Former school roommates Baz and Simon run into each other at an airport when their flight is cancelled due to inclement weather. They team up to try to get home for the holiday but luck is not on their side. A Travel AU with planes, trains, automobiles, snowstorms, road trip mishaps, mutual pining, bickering and banter, gratuitous use of tropes, and quite a bit of romance.

This is my longest completed fic, my most popular Ao3 and Carry On fandom fic. I enjoyed writing it so much. It was a daily part of my life for months and I still find myself thinking about this AU. I’m proud of the story arc and the characterizations. And the fact that it’s the one multi-chapter fic I sort of managed to finish.

This was fun. In looking over this list my favorites definitely all fall into the “fluffy AUs that make me laugh” category. 😂

1. Recapture The Magic by rainbowbaz

This is an older fic and I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t have more hits. I know some people have read it but it you haven’t check it out!! It’s one of my early favorites and one I come back to again and again.

Summary:

“If you don’t meet your spouse at Watford, Penny says, you could end up alone – or going on singles tours of Magickal Britain."

Ten years after Watford, Simon is lonely and magic-less, and ends up doing exactly what he vowed he would never do - going on a singles tour of Magickal Britain. The only problem is that out of all the mages in England, he's been matched with Baz Pitch, who seems just as moody, rude and annoyingly attractive as he used to be.

2. Wings by @aristocratic-otter

This is a post-Wayward Son fic that imagines the gang back at Watford after their return from America. It tenderly confronts the idea that Simon retains some residual magic, explores his Salisbury family connections, and gives such a lovely snapshot of this found family, and the depth of love between Simon and Baz. It’s a very healing fic. Canon divergent now that AWTWB is out but oh so worth the read. Just lovely.

Summary:

Simon may not have lost his magic after all.

3. Written in the Scars by half_a_numpty

Ok, full disclosure, I am so fond of reading domestic fluff and this totally hits the domestic fluff buttons, but it also is a very healing fic to read? It’s like an epilogue to AWTWB. It addresses some of their past Watford-era conflict and it features body worship and intimacy and just go read it! (Also, it’s this author’s first fic in the fandom and I’d like to see more from them.)

Summary:

A night at home a week after events of AWTWB. Simon and Baz in bed. An exploration of scars. Memories of their time at Watford. Confessions. Boys in love. Mostly fluff but a little hint of more. AWTWB spoilers.

-Comet (info: youngest out of star and asteroid she likes new people and is not very suspicious of them. She likes sea animals and has many books about the sea and the creatures that live in it)

-Asteroid (info: middle child out of star and comet, he doesn't like kids or anyone he doesn't know and is very weary about new people. He like sour things and he is very good at sports and most athletic things. He has a problem with scratching himself either on purpose or on accident.)

-Star (info: They're the eldest and most chill out of Comet and Asteroid. They like engineering and often takes stuff they finds and takes it apart to see how it works. They're a hoodie freak cuz why not?)

-Solar (this was a oc before Solar became offical on TSAMS) (info: hes twin of lunar and he's got more of moons personality but also has suns like eclipse but has different traits. He was made with blood moon as a backup and put into his own body. Eclipse then burned the body after Solar was deemed as non efficient and he burned the body he was in but Lunar had gotten attached to Solar and he saved him by pulling his A.I. chip out secretly. Eclipse in one of the episodes tried to hit him causing Solar's killcode, Annular to come out. Annular attacked eclipse then ran away to the pizzaplex where Solar then took control of the body and talked to Moon then he found out Sun was being held hostage in Eclipses mind. Yadayada Lunar betrayed him yadayada then Eclipse died. I thought about making this because there was a sun model of Lunar's design. Plus there wasn't a solar but there was a eclipse and lunar so boom.

Okay! Get ready because this a lot.

This is going to be on my newest au called Eclipse au [@phoenixquill-art helped me with the name!] and it is an au of Leo being separated.

What if...I made an au where Leo never existed....what would be of his brothers....what if Draxum made Leo later on....

What if in Mystic Mayhem, when the boys find him...they see a little turtle protecting Draxum....and he is emotionless....

So Draxum wanted to make the perfect warrior, he lost his first 3, so he had to make one more...Obedient. So he made a device planting it in the neck of the little one, causing them to obey him. When the other meet the Little One [or One], he was 5 years of age...already knowing how to fight...no emotions.. One gets hurt fighting them but stands up guarding Draxum...he is the perfect test subject.

Draxum tried again multiple times but they never worked- not until this one

And he gets to properly put it to the test against the disobedient ones- if he can get the device on them- how would they react? Would never having it before have an affect? Draxum is excited to find out.

One [Who will later be named Luna] is also very sick. One has Septicemia. Septicemia is a bacterial infection of the blood, and it is a commonly diagnosed disease in reptiles. The bacteria can spread to multiple organs throughout the body and cause widespread damage and death if not treated aggressively.

So One self engineers their own medication so that they will be okay, of course later on, One will not be needing the medication.

One is not important to Draxum; yes their is needed to protect Draxum from potential danger but that is the jist of their purpose. That is all that they are needed for.

So One is too precious for him to just let him get killed so easily, but because of the disease, Draxum is thinking about 'exchanging' him for a better model. He thinks of One as something replaceable, like if this one won't work 'sooner or later I'll manage to make another one'

But he wouldn't be able to. The moment the other experiments show up, the other turtles, One knows their time is limited.

They can replace them but One has to catch them-

As long as One is the only experiment, the best of the few that do exist (the ones that end up even worse off than him) he has value and he will live.

If the others are around....Ones master will get rid of them.

One allows them to leave everytime...they may be young...but Draxum sped their growth...which could be the reasoning of their illness.

The turtles see that One fights like his life depends on it

They don’t want to hurt this kid but also fighting has always been a bit of a game for them-

This kid clearly has to fight

And yet, they see him make moves that make no sense and put him into an open disadvantage or gives them a chance to escape

One was engineered to be a Jack of all trades, a simple control test to try and replicate in the future

They supposed to be good at tasks, be talented, but One isn’t the best in anything

They are not the end goal

Draxum...get mad with him...punishes by beating him senseless.

"You idiotic creature!!! You are supposed to capture them not allow them to escape!!!!"

Every time the others meet him again, Ones bruises are more prominent...not to state that Draxum probably has a failsafe in case One ends up betraying him

The boys don’t want to fight One, but it’s clear they can’t bring One with them

Donnie’s seen the metal on One and knows that the kid can’t leave

They need to know how to help One but they don’t know how-

Practice What You Preach - Black Representation Challenge

On August 8th I made a post called "Black Art" about representation.

It was based on a video I saw on the internet by a black creative the challenged us to stop fighting for positive representation by painting white stories black.

The argument they posed was that It gives the false idea that we are represented when in reality we are not. We keep on replaying white stories.

There is the barbie and the black barbie. There is a cinderella and a black cinderella. There is a little mermaid and a black little mermaid.

The beauty standard still remains and although we are being represented it is still a sub-category.

Instead of wanting every white story to be a black version we should instead fill in the gaps in our historical memory and learn about real black queens and queens that would inspire us.

And watch ORIGINAL black movies, black superheroes, black princesses. Real black stories.

They then posed the challenge I recently finished and proposed you do with me:

"To have true representation in the media we need to seek and create our own stories and find our own positive black role models. On our terms.

The video then posed a challenge for me I propose to you as well.

We often speak of being descendants of kings and queens. The challenge: find one black king and queen in African history. Learn about their lives and accomplishments.

See a movie that was written, produced and played by black actors. It can be a movie from any country. There is a variety of them with subtitles.

Search for the history of one African Kingdom (there were many). Read about it. You'll be surprised."

Practice What You Preach - The Challenge: Part 1

- African King

I started the research in my own African country to find queens and kings. The Portuguese claim the island of Sao Tome and Principe was inhabited before they founded it. So there is no record.

But I discovered King Amador. He was a king that rose from revolution. The attempts to erase him were many, but we remember our heroes and celebrate them to this day.

He has his own statue, he is printed in the local money and a holiday is celebrated after him. A snippet of His story below:

King Amador in 1595 gathered half of the black population of the island (at the time enslaved) and led a revolution.

The revolution lasted from July 9th to July 29th where most of the plantations and sugar machinery were destroyed.

He bravely fought 3 battles with a population larger than the colonizers but heavily underarmed. The colonizers also had the help of enslaved men.

The last battle on July 28th was lost, but the sugar plantation and commerce in the island were never the same and declined after.

Things I learned:

My people were brave despite how white history describes them. It is ESSENTIAL to seek out history and positive role models in that history. To fill in the memory blanks we have where only the word slavery exists.

Our history did not start there and will not end there. We should learn from it because the biggest impact slavery left - racism - still lives and affects us all.

Even if our life is comfortable and we have access to everything we need, racism in that comfort remains. Knowing our history is our superpower to black empowerment.

One man can change everything. His impact can live on for many years and inspire for decades.

I remembered a quote: "The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any." - Alice Walker

Imagine if Amilcar Cabral, Patrice Lumumba, King Amador or anyone who fought for independence thought they had no power. They would be right on the side of the colonizer.

Many times we choose not to try because we think it is too hard. Remember that our ancestors had to get through so that we can be free today.

Recognize racism, how it looks like, and how it manifests. Education does not stop discrimination but it stops you from believing it. From self-hate.

Our power today lies in self-empowerment. In education, in advocating for change and justice in whichever amount we can.

Maybe it's a like on anti-racist content, maybe it's writing an email. Supporting a black-owned business or protesting. Setting boundaries at home and work from colourism speech. All those levels are powerful.

Don't be afraid to be your black self. It will inspire others to do the same.

In the fight for black freedom and emancipation, there are those who rather join the side of the oppressor for their own individual comfort. Not everyone is pro-black. Recognize their speech and actions. Don't be fooled. Act accordingly.

biggest goal in life for all of them

Just wanna start off with that the kids are fourteen. So some of their life goals are... well, just regular boring goals that kids usually have. So these might not be all that interesting. Also, this might be a long post, but I love writing about these kids so personally I don't mind.

But either way, here we go!

Misty

To start the group off, I'll go with the twins. Starting with who has become somewhat my favorite out of the group. The younger of the Fenton twins.

Misty's biggest goal in life is to become a famous musician. She loves music, and she has played both guitar and drums since a young age. Guitar because she saw it on TV and thought it looked cool, and drums because as a kid she had a pretty bad temper (still do, to be honest) and would often be the first one to throw a punch. Danny and Sam didn't want to put her into any kind of martial arts or physical activity because they worried that it would encourage her to keep using violence, so they put her into drum classes. Surprisingly, Misty fell in love with the instrument and has played it every since. She uses it to calm herself down when she's mad or upset.

And despite her dyslexia making it difficult for her to read the sheet music, she is at the current point in time attempting to teach herself piano. Simply because she's that in love with music. It's become her comfort zone.

Jax

Jax is...

You could easily call him lazy. Though it wouldn't exactly be the right word to use. Because it's not that he doesn't have the energy or finds it too much of a hassle, he's just generally unmotivated.

For pretty much anything.

He doesn't have a proper goal in life. Not even the kind of general "I want to become X when I get older" type. He's just not reaching for anything simply because he's always assumed that he'll be joining the Fenton Family business (basically ghost fighting and superhero work), just like Danny. Which means that he has no motivation to make a real effort into getting proper grades in school, doesn't have any motivation to put any effort into anything unless he feels a specific interest, or has any intention of reaching towards anything.

Which is, in itself pretty sad. Because, just like Jazz, Jax inherited that genious Fenton brain. But he is extremelly gifted with inventing and even the programming aspect of it. Just like his grandparents, and Sam's great grandfather (I think it was). He's the one that created Aeleigh's gauntlets based on the old Ghost Gauntlets design. Although, he's the one that managed to make them capable of shrinking down into Aeleigh's green shaded bracelets.

Aeleigh

And speaking of Aeleigh. She wants to be an artist.

Now, she hasn't really figured out what type of artist yet, though. If she wants to become an online creator and make a profit through commission work, or if she wants to try and pursue a professional career at a studio. Kind of like creating characters for shows or make designs for video games. Maybe illustrate books, for example. Or create her own comic. She doesn't really know yet.

But she wants to become an artist. And I'd say she's pretty good at it. She's the one that made the picture of the pale woman with hands covered in dripping gold that Misty has on her bedroom wall.

Lennie

Okay, so the thing about Lennie is that while she does have a goal, she doesn't really have a goal. Which needs some explaining.

Lennie is Paulina's daughter, and Paulina has managed to make it big as she grew up. Partly because she's from a rich family and thus has a safety network to fall back on. But also because she managed to snag a few modeling gigs which then lead to brand deals and then ended up with her creating her own make up brand. After breaking it off with Dash just a few months after having Lennie, Paulina met and later married a fashion designer that she met during one of her modeling jobs. Later having two sons with him. Creating the so called perfect family.

Basically, she still lives under that same type of "I'm perfect" attitude as she did in high school. And Lennie isn't just the elder sister, but she's also Paulina's only daughter. And her whole life Lennie has lived under that pressure of living up to her successful, beautiful and perfect mother.

Her goal in life, ever since she was young, has been to live up to those expectations. To be that perfect daughter. Basically to be just like her mother. Even when it comes to gymnastics, something she's practiced and even competed in since she was young, she puts pressure on herself to be at the very top because anything else wouldn't be perfect.

And it has to be perfect.

I just watched the new Puss in Boots movie and I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

I had seen almost nothing of the movie going into it, so my only expectation was based on how many people were praising the movie and a few screen caps.

The first thing I noticed, was how beautiful the art style was. I thought the movie was just like 3d models but it at least looked like it was all hand drawn in a sort of painterly but still almost realistic style. I also loved how there were moments where it broke the realism part of it to favor more cartoony action and movements.

The story was also AMAZING!!!! Its a bit of a cliche "people go on a quest to try and find something to solve their problems, but then realize along the way that they had the solution in them the whole time," but I love it so much. I loved the way that Puss spent so long running away from literal death, trying to grasp onto his care-free life, only to realize how meaningful his final life could be if he spent it with people he loved. Or the way that Goldilocks tricked the bears so she could try to get away and live a "normal" life, only to realize how much she loved her family, just the way it is.

And of course there's the Jack Horner. I hate him, and I love that. The movie does a great job at painting him as the bad guy who doesn't care about anyone and just wants to destroy everything. Its great to see as his greed causes his downfall as he watches the map for the last wish burn in his hands.

The character development is great in this movie as well. I love how, at the start, Puss fights against a giant stone monster and doesn't miss a beat the entire time, only to get crushed by a bell after the fight is over. Then, when he realizes he's on his last life, and he can't live like he used to, he tries to run away and live as safe of a life as he can. When he leaves, he still is much more careful than he was before, almost scared to make any mistakes. At the very end, after being scared of Death for so long, he realizes that he can't run anymore, he has to face his fears and fight, not for his pride, but for his friends. He didn't defeat Death, he just defeated his past self and became a new cat, one that cared about his life and his friends.

So yeah, this is my new favorite movie, I'll probably watch it more times at some point because its so good.

Just realized how the Project Mermaid group could be the ones who stop the Revolution in that particular AU

They are more desperate. Instead of just four loyal teens, it's a dozen of them. (Some people moved to another continent just for this, and/or cannot/don't want to go home.)

Advantage in numbers. It's FIVE mermaids now, and more backup for things like editing and art. (You have to destroy more of those connection points.)

We have Miles on the team, who can get everyone else to focus, strategize, and make sure B2J are done for. (Miles himself knows that B2J have a point, but does not want Gwen to go back home.) (Side note, but Miles is gonna be a bit pissed if they lose, and Mayday tells his crew that they are kids meddling in politics)

...Oh no it's another FRAU

You actually make a lot of good points! This is absolutely something that could happen and would make it another FRAU! However, it would not nearly be as dark as my OG FRAU where 1010 are the ones to stop the revolution.

The main reason for this is because, in order for 1010 to stop the revolution, a lot of stuff regarding Neon J, his past with Martha and his kids, and the war all have to line up in order for 1010 (mainly Blue) to have the push needed to actually end the Revolution.

In that specific scenario, Project Mermaid would not have been able to form. It would only ever stay with the main Sayu Crew.

So instead of the change in the past happening with Neon J and 1010, the change(s) are now applied later in life with the Sayu Crew and Arachnikids. I can't think of any major change, but all kinds of smaller changes are needed to make Project Mermaid form.

Most likely it is just the kids finding out about Sayu earlier into the development process. So instead of like Gwen and Margo finding out about Sayu a year away from mer joining NSR (or after ze joined), some ad or someone sharing Remi's (and Tila's) art/work allowed the Arachnikids to find the mermaid fandom earlier and actually have time to join the project.

There's also the possibility that Project Mermaid FRAU's major change is that the mermaids joining either swap with DJSS joining point (so DJSS is there a year longer while the mermaids are there a year shorter than their OG counterparts) or that the mermaids joining are just pushed a year or two later (meaning they had to outrank the previous charter quickly).

Either way, both of these scenarios are going to make the Project Mermaid members work extremely hard to prove that they are worthy of their position in NSR. They aren't going to be as complacent and easy going as the OG Crew was.

Not to mention, like you said, there are now 5 mermaids to fight instead of just 1. Though I do think there would be some drawbacks to having 5 mermaids present at one time instead of just 1.

One of the main drawbacks would be that the 5 mermaids would not be nearly as big as OG Sayu (but not as small as a normal citizen). Mainly because of processing power and render distance now having to account for all 5 models instead of just 1.

So the stage/environment would probably be smaller or just 1 or 2 mermaids are on at a time. Honestly I can see it going like this. 1 mermaid tries to take on B2J, then once that one is defeated 2 go to take on B2J while the others try to fix the one that got broken. Once one of the 2 out there is broken then the last 2 go out and fight B2J as a 3v2.

As that fight is going on the other 2 are brought back online and now it's a 5v2 against B2J. I'm pretty sure B2J could win, but it would turn out kinds like Eve's fight with them having to split up and cause a lot of lag to the mermaids in order to put an end to the fight.

There is also a thing to not that with just how many people are behind Project Mermaid, that means different opinions and fighting styles would come up. Arguments and infighting could start to pop up which, along with the lag, are the main factors that would allow B2J to beat this version of Sayu (and friends).

However, it is also very easy to see that, if the mermaids stick together, all come out at once, and/or don't start fighting with each other, Project Mermaid would definitely be able to beat out B2J and stop the Revolution from continuing.

Not entirely sure if defeating B2J would wind up in B2J being permanently hurt like in my OG FRAU. I honestly don't see a lot of the members wanting to actively hurt B2J, at least not without the push from other factors (like Gwen wouldn't want to hurt them, but damn she knows she has to stop them to stay away from her father and so is willing to hurt them).

Also the fact that like, B2J are in a digital world but can still somehow get hurt. Like they aren't playing avatars like the members are. Instead May and Zuke are literally in the digital space and getting their asses kicked by Sayu. So that means they could actually get very hurt having to fight off 5 mermaids who all have different levels of what they deem as "too far."

So maybe some kind of weird glitch effect happens to B2J that haunts them forever after the revolution ends. Something like Vanellope Von Schweetz's glitch/pixlexia from Wreck-it-Ralph except that it kinda hurts or at the very least feels uncomfortable, idk.

Either way, they can't continue the Revolution from here on out, which, depending on where the mermaids are might not even make this action worthy of being called a revolution. (Like if the mermaids and DJSS switch joining times, then Sayu is first and is the one to stop B2J immediately, making this hard to justify as a revolution and not just an attack on NSR or Project Mermaid. If Sayu is still second and had recently outranked the previous charter, then it would be known as stopping a revolution in its tracks).

The aftermath of the failed revolution is also going to be VERY different from the aftermath of the OG FRAU. Mainly because a lot of the Megastars aren't already bitter (like Neon J and 1010 being more like their OG selves instead of their FRAU selves), so there isn't going to be a hostile and toxic work environment that spawns up from the end of the Revolution.

If anything, the mermaid members are all praised for accomplishing this whole thing as there was not enough time for B2J to actually get their point across to everyone meaning that they have a lot less sympathy going for them (plus, people would start thinking about what-ifs and many would come to the conclusion that B2J would have had to hurt Yinu if they weren't stopped which makes them seen a lot more in a negative light).

I just feel like a lot of the turning point in people's opinions about B2J happen after defeating Sayu, so being stopped by the mermaids first or 1 boss in really makes it hard for this to be seen as a true revolution that was going to help the people instead of just two bitter idiots wanting to hurt the system that is graciously providing power.

So yeah, Project Mermaid failed revolution is a much happier overall AU that isn't as heartbreaking and painful as the OG FRAU. B2J still have to deal with their consequences (like pixilation or something like that), but nothing truly changes with the system meaning there are still lots of blackouts and other problems that no one is truly addressing except for some people who did agree with B2J.

Honestly, I don't even see a second revolution coming from this because the people who agree with B2J are so small and still aren't truly convinced that a revolution would work in the end. So the revolution just stops at Project Mermaid and the members are probably given a lot of praise and benefits for proving how loyal they are to NSR as well as how powerful they are at such a young age.

“ Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord…” 2Corinthians 6:17NIV

Did you know that God wants us to look like Him and not the world? Amish people exemplify simplistic as they serve the legalism of not ‘looking and doing like the world.’ Hidden in their homes, one can find many worldly opinions, and sins. Being personally acquainted with a few of the Amish, I’ll say, some truly love the Lord, read their Bibles and pray. Others depend on their actions to get them into heaven, never having invited Jesus into their hearts.

My parents raised me in a legalistic, holiness church. The denomination has grown tremendously ‘worldly’ in their appearance… But back in the day… long hair, sleeves and hemlines, with no make-up, jewelry, or toeless shoes… described ‘holiness’— being separate.

“Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— BUT LET YOUR ADORNING BE the HIDDEN PERSON OF THE HEART with the IMPERISHABLE BEAUTY of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious” 1Peter 3:3-4ESV, emphasis mine. Many ladies, I personally knew, in the legalistic denomination were so PROUD of being humbly dressed, they stood as judges of those who dressed differently. Believe me, I bore the brunt of that judgement multiple times. With that as an example of Christianity— I’ll pass— no thank you.

Many of the churches today are trying to look like the world, blend in, not make waves. Sermons are preached without ever calling sin what it is— sin. Never giving altar calls offering the opportunity to make Jesus — LORD— [[“one having power and authority over others: a : a ruler by hereditary right or preeminence to whom service and obedience are due.” (Google definitions)]] —of the listeners’ lives. Just saying— without Jesus as Lord people will not survive or go to heaven.

We believers will be separate from the world, not like the world. This won’t be accomplished by what we wear, or don’t wear. How we depend upon God, forgive, live, talk, believe, and have faith will model the life of the true believer. “It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak,” 2Corinthians 4:13NIV.

I watched a young, third-generation preacher preaching. During the sermon he shared how he saw the difference between his life at home and the life of other students at school. Those at school were coddled and spoon fed sympathy and fear. His home was always, fighting against sickness, disease, fear, and loss— basically— “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called…” 1Timothy 6:12KJV. Other students marked the difference and often remarked to him about it. They didn’t have any understanding as to why he didn’t hate nor speak evil of anyone; nor had sick days, or needs. Such testimonies will speak volumes more to the unbeliever than the clothes we wear or the Bible we thump.

Preceding our text Paul was addressing believers who were in partnership with idolaters. His instructions were to awaken them to understand how that partnership took them into compromise. The last half of our text scripture says: “Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” This “unclean thing” was the idol. Rather than being dependent on Christ, you’re dependent on your income, assistant, friend, spouse, aka idol. Anyone can be dependent on idols and other sources. Separate people are dependent on Christ. People notice when you’re not depending on the normal avenues others depend upon. They check it out, when they see you depending on God.

God will receive those separate people dependent upon Him. Are you a separate person? Do you want to be that type of separate person? It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: Heavenly Father we choose Jesus as Lord, depending upon You and Jesus for every aspect of our lives. Help us look more like You than we do the world we live in, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
