I was hoping the Princess Jellyfish tag had some discussion of the manga's whimper of an ending. Thanks for providing! You think if it did get animated, would people like it?

Oh, you're welcome! But to be honest, I don't quite remember too much of it (besides it was apparently a waste of time?), which might say something about it, lol. I think people who watch anime are generally positive despite whatever happens unless it's egregious if that makes sense? Old series like Banana Fish have gotten anime adaptations much later for some reason and even those 2010s anime that finished with their own ending because the manga wasn't finished yet like Fruit's Basket got entire reboots and I don't think they usually changed much plot-wise besides making it more relatable like with technology.

Princess Jellyfish's anime would be nostalgic to some, and the manga does have an appealing aesthetic, so I think a lot of opinions would be based on that. Only some things I think wouldn't age well; I remember people reading around the same time as I didn't enjoy the one woman sexually assaulting the older brother being played as a joke, and maybe the main guy's gender expression in the show (i would say it's ahead of its time for the 2000s, but I'm not sure about now.) I have no clue if hypothetically some writer/whoever would care enough to change these things or not, though, a lot of anime today still has major issues because of the people involved, and I can't say too much on the creator's other works to imagine.

my prof just explained on the syllabus that he’s included more points in the class than we needed to pass, so we could skip up like?? 20 small assignments/quizzes/participation!! and still get a very high grade!!

the idea was that we could focus on assignments that played to our strengths - only do the participation stuff if we like to talk out loud - only do the quizzes/readings if we want to do the class remotely - only do online discussions if we like to talk and share opinions but struggle with anxiety in class ect.

and that’s cool enough but then he pulled up DnD character sheets with drawings he’d done of these hypothetical student player classes and how our various accessibility needs could be gamified to ‘max out’ different aspects of the class to get high grades and like!!!!!

hell yeah!!!! let’s treat accessibility in higher education not just as a necessity but as the fun, engaging, and creative aspect of learning that it is!!! I love this!!

this headline is so fucking horrible why is it whenever indigenous people are murdered everyone avoids saying they were murdered

edit: i was really angry and sad when typing this out so i worded this badly. i know the journalist can’t say murdered when the police haven’t called it what which isn’t surprising considering how often police fail the indigenous community. however this headline should have at least said “found dead” or something like that
