Christopher does his best to wait patiently in line for tickets, but Buck can see him bouncing on the balls of his feet, his hands tightening and loosening over the grip of his crutches rhythmically as he tries to give himself something to focus on. Buck takes pity on the kid, leaning over so he’s able to whisper conspiratorially in Christopher’s ear. Eddie didn’t say anything about fun facts while waiting in line, after all. “Did you know that elephants have over 150,000 muscles in their trunk? And that they can hold up to 8 litres of water in it?” he murmurs, giving Christopher an easy grin when the kid lights up, finally able to spill the facts he’d been compiling all morning. “Really? That’s super cool! Did you know that –“ “Oi,” Eddie cuts in, jabbing Buck in the ribs. “I thought I said no hippo facts until we got there!” “You said no hippo facts in the car,” Buck corrects cheekily as Christopher nods quickly by his side, ever ready to aid Buck in tormenting his father. “And these are elephant facts, not hippo.” Eddie rolls his eyes, but Buck can see the small quirk at the corner of his mouth, clearly finding this far more endearing than he’d like to admit. “You’re impossible, both of you.” Buck claps him on the shoulder, shaking him back and forth a little. “Ah, but you love us.” Eddie’s cheeks flush pink and he looks away quickly, clearing his throat. Buck would give anything to see Eddie flush like that every day.

Okay I just need to say that I knew I'd like this Tailstube as soon as I saw the thumbnail (after all, I am a Sonadails enjoyer, and Tails is literally in the middle of them in the thumbnail)

But I think probably something that stood out the most to me when I watched it was just

The hints that Shadow and Tails have a relationship outside of Sonic??

The first thing that tipped me off to this was that not only did Tails convince Shadow to join in on his show, he also convinced him to stick around to its natural end?? You know, Shadow. The guy you can't force to do anything and frequently will just dip if he's bored or doesn't want to be there. But even while Sonic was annoying him and he made it clear he wanted the "interview" over with, he still never made a move to chaos control out of there because of any of this.

And the second thing that tipped me off was this:

When Shadow is both confused and annoyed at Sonic, he chooses to complain to Tails about Sonic. And so Tails steps in to try to "explain" what Sonic meant by what he said (i.e he told Shadow something much nicer in the interest of getting them to be on better terms). The fact that he looks to Tails to complain to about Tails' own best friend and possibly even to explain that which he does not understand in a social context tells me just how highly he regards Tails. And since both Shadow and Sonic are being childish here, it's amusing to see Tails regarded as something closer to a trusted figure with more power here.

From an objective analysis standpoint, of course this means they have their own friendship. And this is a prospect I enjoy (The idea that Tails and Shadow are good friends)! It actually means a lot to me that Tails could form a frienship or bond with Shadow outside of the context of Sonic (in terms of who initiates it and for what reason it's initiated).

But, my friends, from a biased standpoint, I'm shipping trash. And to me this Tailstube was a fun show for Sonadails fans. Honestly, Tails staging this episode to get Sonic and Shadow to talk and "bury the hatchet", as well as how he acts during the show, read a lot to me personally like a guy trying to get his two boyfriends (who happen to be rivals) to get on better terms, if not just tolerate each other. I quite like the idea of Tails dating both of these idiots and just trying to get them to play nice when they're all together (although frankly I think the ideal scenario for Tails in my biased reading is that Sonic and Shadow get together as well).

This is also not to mention the dynamics showcased here! Sonic and Tails as best friends, with Sonic assuming that he and Tails were gonna talk shit about Shadow behind his back, and Tails trying to get him to play nicer. Shadow and Tails as friends, with Tails trying to convince him why he and Sonic are in the perfect position to become friends and helping him out socially, and with Shadow choosing to do something he doesn't want to because of Tails, as well as looking to Tails to complain to when Sonic is annoying him or when he doesn't understand something. And then there's Sonic and Shadow. In short, their relationship in this episode reminded me a lot of the dynamic I plotted out for that Sonadow post I wrote up where the two just beat the crap out of each other. In slightly longer terms, I find interesting how Mr. Flynn maintained Sonic and Shadow's dynamic during SA2 (with Sonic bothering Shadow and trying to fight him, while Shadow is just annoyed that Sonic won't leave him alone) while also showing the audience that they are rivals. And in longer terms...Sonic was clearly seeking a fight during this episode. And the facial expression, the mocking, his tone of voice, it doesn’t really matter whether or not he actually dislikes Shadow and believes they could never be friends. He's trying to annoy Shadow and goad him into a fight because he wants to fight Shadow so badly it makes him look stupid. And we can tell by how he expresses his confusion to Tails that Shadow is just not getting this. To him Sonic is just being annoying and confusing. Sonic is targeting him specifically, and Shadow shoots back with his own words. And so it's also pointed that Shadow reciprocates/actually decides to fight Sonic when Sonic specifically challenges him. He doesn't respond to Sonic trying to goad him on, but when Sonic challenges him specifically he's much more interested in opposing him.

Anyways guys I love Shadow and Tails having a soft on the side relationship while Sonic flirts by convincing Shadow to fight him somehow😂💖

I was freaking out about this episode earlier & I’m glad I didn’t come online bc I actually really enjoyed that ep. Eddie’s being a little crazy, but we need more Eddie-centric storylines. I want them to crack him open and scoop out his delicious & complicated insides and hold all of his shit up to the light. I really want to dive into him, bc he’s kind of taken a backseat & I’m genuinely so excited

“You know you don’t have to do that, right?” Eddie walked into the kitchen, shaking his head fondly — if it was for Buck’s benefit or because he just checked on Christopher, he couldn’t tell.

“Mmm?” Buck only turned away from the chopping board long enough to take Eddie in, before continuing to dice the spring onions he had lined up on the counter.

“This. The whole,” Eddie waved an arm around vaguely as he made his way over to the fridge, “cleaning, cooking and homework duty. You don’t have to do any of it. You’re always welcome here, you don’t have to… I don’t know, earn your keep or whatever.”

“I know.” Buck shrugged absentmindedly, his brain already stuck on the ‘always welcome’ part. “I want to.”

“Yeah,” Eddie sighed as he opened the fridge and pulled out two beers, lifting them questioningly towards Buck and only closing the fridge door after he got a nod of affirmation.

“Besides, I don’t have to earn my keep, I don’t actually live here.” Buck pointed at Eddie with an onion green cockily, before putting it onto the board beside the rest.

“No? Coulda’ fooled me.” Eddie shook his head, his face slightly angled away from Buck, but he caught the tail end of Eddie’s smile anyway. “By the way, after dinner we’re watching the movie with the dragons. Again.”

Buck snorted at the disdain in Eddie’s voice, as he swept all the chopped up veggies into a mixing bowl, while Eddie opened both beers and sat down at the kitchen table.

“Hey, I don’t think we’ve watched it in like... two weeks. Besides,” Buck shrugged with a smile, “it’s kinda cute.”

“Yeah, yeah.” Eddie sighed with the kind of exasperation that only a dad who’s seen the same cartoon for a gazillion times with the running commentary provided by a pre-teen could feel, but Buck knew better.

Eddie would watch one movie for the rest of his life over and over again if it’d make Christopher happy — he knew, because he felt the exact same way.

Okay hear me out imagine rival CEOs Buck and Eddie who are constantly at each other's necks for new partnerships and projects. Now Buck would be lying if he even tried to deny his attraction for Eddie but with the constant pressure to prove others of his competency doesn't really give him a lot of time to think further about it. He's trying his best, he really is but one accident later he ends up in a coma.

Buck wakes up in an alternate universe and finds Eddie on his bedside, he's obviously confused but the initial confusion is nothing in comparison to when he finds out that apparently him and Eddie are married??? And they co-parent Eddie's son Christopher together???

At first he is looking for every possible way to get back to his real life because surely him and Eddie aren't meant to be together. But slowly he finds himself falling for Eddie and when he finally does get idea on how to leave, he doesn't want to. But the universe likes to play games and he's back in the original universe. He should be happy that he's back with his found family but every time he looks at Eddie, he's reminded of the smile that was just reversed for him.

He's reminded of Friday movie nights with Christopher, aquarium and zoo dates with the family, he's reminded of the grumpy looks on Eddie's face every morning that turned into a soft smile the moment his sense of smell and sight kicked in.

He's sure that there's no way that he could ever get his love back but what if somehow Eddie starts to remember few bits and pieces??

Imagine the angst with Buck’s "amnesia" in the other universe and Eddie's "amnesia" in this universe.

I know I have so many wips but I really can't stop thinking about this😭😭

Some aspects of fanon are so widely accepted that I just got really sad because I just realised that Buck hasn’t actually called Eddie “Eds”

Episode 9

Rei is doing the positive version of "Living through your children." Which I believe is normally called "Being supportive of their interests?"

Essentially, making up for things or experiences you didn't or couldn't have as a child, and making sure your kids are treated better.

Rei was clearly raised to be as quiet as possible and to take up the least amount of space as possible. It's clear that he himself doesn't mind noisy or bright people, even to his own surprise as demonstrated with both Kazuki and Miri.

The thing is Miri is loud. She's 4, that's actually very normal. But, not only does he passively accept their loudness, he tries to match it here. It's such a big step for him, it can't be easy for him, but he wants to help so so badly. It can't have been easy for him to raise his voice like that, but he did it.

He loves Miri so much it's amazing. Even his advice on running and the science behind it shows that he supports her and is trying to help even though it make look like he's doesn't care.
