toph and aang have always felt more like siblings/best friends to me but i think it’s very important that one thing about them is that they are alloaro/aroace solidarity

katoph is cute too and i’m mostly really on and off about it and not because i don’t like the ship, i just have days where i’m like “toph lesbian” and days where i’m like “toph alloaro” (and also days where i change between transhet katara and bisexual katara. i have range baby)

every member of the gaang is aspec and i'm going to tell you why whether or not you want me to

- aang: aroace. this one is obvious, and if you've followed me for any length of time you know i love spreading aroace aang propaganda. aunt wu practically makes it cannon in the fortuneteller episode- she doesn't see any romance in his future. also, aang's colour palate is the aroace flag, so that's always a plus.

- sokka: purely vibes, and not canon compliant in any way, but he's demiromantic. I don't really have an explanation for this, but he just strikes me as someone who forms deep emotional attachments before wanting anything more.

- katara: she's grayace and you can't tell me otherwise. she might be feeling more attraction one day and less the next, and she just vibes with it. change is part of her element. romance, however, is a priority in her life. physical attraction, on the other hand, is not.

- toph: alloaro. I love the concept of a toph whose relationships with her (found) family are the most important in her life, who maybe has a qpr with someone, who raises her children with support from the rest of the gaang. it make me ridiculously happy and fits her character so so well!! she is quite literally a strong independent woman, and doesn't need a partner to be happy and feel fulfilled.

- suki: also alloaro!! or maybe grayaro, whatever you like. suki seems to me a person who really doesn't care that much about romance. her family and friends are a true priority for her, and while i think she wouldn't mind a qpr or a romantic relationship, it's sort of at the back of her mind. her duty always comes first.

- zuko: ace, and possibly arospec. my boy is busy regaining his honour. chasing the avatar. conquering his internal conflict. building trust with the gaang. running a country. you're gonna tell me he has time to worry about seggs and romance?? look me in the eye and say it. but in all seriousness, zuko is a hopeless (but aspec) romantic who loves attraction in novels and plays, but not in his own life. he just doesn't have time for that.

okay it turns out i have so many more than i thought so keep reading for all of my many, many aspec hcs but keep scrolling if not!

the classics:

katniss- aroace

charlie wesley- aroace

elsa- sapphic oriented aroace

meredith (from brave)- alloaro

moana- not rlly sure this is a classic at all but shes from disney and i see her as alloro ace

from avatar:

zuko- ace and arospec, or non-sam ace, or acemid, wants a soft rom, qpr type relationship

toph- non-sam aro

katara- demiromantic, probably demisexual but doesn’t label it, gender doesn’t rlly factor into anything fit her either

aang- not aspec but definitely some flavor of non-binary

azula- she is aroace and does not understand your petty feelings of romance but will make fun of you for it nonetheless

from the owl house:

hunter- aro all the way and also probably enby and uses he/they

willow- i think she’s aroace and i have no argument other then i am aroace and i say so, oop also uses she/they

Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

Is there any character in Cats that the fandom doesn't like? I feel like we are quite an all-loving fandom.... Maybe Jellylorum? I love her and I love her being an older cat and an older perfomer (I do prefer when the actress is older, like in the '98 movie. No shade on the actress of the Broadway revival, she did a great job, she's just not who I would have cast for that role). I think it talks about a different reality, the one of middle-aged women that have to take care of their aging parents, and the love and care and tenderness she exudes during 'Gus the Theater Cat' makes me melt. And she definitely has some pipes!!

Unpopular opinion about Avatar the Last Airbender?

I'm not sure how "unpopular" this opinion is, but I don't like any ships for Katara. Not Kataang, not Zutara. The way Kataang is handled in the show makes me deeply uncomfortable, because I feel like she is a mother figure to Aang during the entire series, and she explicitly rejects him at one point, and then they kiss at the end?? Out of nowhere??? But that doesn't mean I'm a Zutara shipper, either. While I can see their relationship happening better than Kataang (because Zuko ISN'T TWELVE), it all circles back to one thing. Katara is fourteen. I just don't feel comfortable shipping anyone that young in anything resembling an actual adult relationship (that's why I can stomach Katara/Jet best of all, because it's a highschool crush, not something that's expected to last).

Also, I think this is less unpopular, but Toph is alloaro. Hands down, I won't take questions about it.
