There are few things worse, I think, than reading a call to action memoir that is so close to right but really should have been shelved for at least 5yrs before going to print so the author has time to learn enough to see all the false equivalencies that really hinder the point
#personal;#yeah fatphobia is bad but dont you dare act like people aren't asking disabled people to medically alter themselves every day???#you compare bariatric and gender affirming surgeries in such a way that makes the latter sound easy to get??#and in fact don't at ALL go into the struggles for transition care except for a nod at FL while comparing us (trans people)#to fat people like our lives are Much Easier instead of /oppressed by the same white colonial structures that enforce fatphobia/#but go off i guess#i was giving a lot of leeway when i was just side eyeing the comparisons with racism bc i'm not fat and i've not experienced enough racism#to say either way on those#but the MOMENT she started using trans and disabled comparisons i about lost it#and also randomly started calling it antisemitic (sure as much as it's violnt to all poc) in the last chapter with nothing supporting it#like you can tell it was written over the course of the last like 2 maybe 3 years without enough space to breathe#i have listened to a book on writing memoir so often i've got some of it all but memorized#and i agree that if it's more recent than a decade you're probably too close to be writing it#and this author's writing mostly about during pandemic times. this is more a journal and call to action than memoir#but its not polished enough to be a proper call to action bc there's not much it gives you to do other than 'stop dieting & dare to be fat'#which isn't an effective call to action when only those most harmed by fatphobia can act on it you know???#lots of complaints#3/10#edit: reiterting that i'm not saying it'#*it's not anti-semitic; just that a good published work of this kind doesn't make last second claims and certainly not ones#they haven't already explicitly supported in the text#i feel the need to clarify with the very very vocal rise of anti semitism esp in the left#like yes there are anti-Semitic ties. she didn't name them. just said 'they exist lol' and this went to print#great study in poor research slipping onto shelves bc topic matter is relevant

You know what's incredibly upsetting? Seeing so many pro-Israel or pro-Zionist posts parrot that the only reason anyone could be pro-Palestine or call for a free Palestine is because they hate Jews.
I know what this tactic is meant to do and I know how making people apathetic, how discrediting their knowledge of a topic or questioning the genuineness of their empathy and other similar tactics are used to benefit the oppressive group but it's still pissing me off.
I am a descendant of enslaved people.
Our history lessons always begin with the slaughter & genocide of the indigenous peoples that were here first, primarily the Taino, who thankfully have a few descendants living in isolation along with the protected Maroon villages. It is normal throughout high school to take history trips to former great houses & plantations and see for ourselves the sites where our ancestors were brutalized and massacred; the weapons and tools of torture preserved and on display so that we knew but a taste of what they went through.
My university is built on the grounds of a former plantation. There are businesses and homes built on top of mass graves & on top of sites of slaughter. There is literally no escaping our colonial history because it touches everything. Our last names are not even our own! Most of us have English, Scottish and Irish last names given by the plantation owners to our ancestors. Or you know...because many children were the product of rape. We cannot accurately trace our true heritage more than 4-5 generations back because most families have no complete records.
A lot of you like to bring up grandparents. Cool. My great-great grandmother was the daughter of a mulatto free woman and a white Scottish sailor. She was white passing. Because land and work were hard to get here under colonial rule, she left the island for a better life with her husband who was a Cuban born mulatto and they ended up living in the US through WWII and after. They were considered an interracial couple (black & white rather than both being seen as mixed) and could not live in certain places because it was illegal. Papa couldn't find work, was treated horribly, because he had darker skin but Grandma found work passing as white and was treated much better. She worked 2-3 jobs to provide for them and their 5 children.
But, there were times when she would appear darker like if she was out in the sun too long or her curls would start to show and a Jewish neighbour/coworker suggested to her it might be safer to tick Jewish on forms rather than white if her race was ever questioned. I suppose due to that kindness the family formed friendships within the Jewish community where they lived & Grandma's eldest son actually married a Jewish woman. His kids and grandkids are all Jewish and they still live in the US.
I share this specific thing because I have very real concerns for those members of my family. But while I worry for them in this time of increasing anti-semitism and absolutely decry any verbal/physical attacks against them, I am still going to speak against things that are wrong. What Israel is doing is wrong. Of course as a non-Jewish person I can acknowledge I may misstep and if I say/do something that is genuinely anti-semitic I'll take the correction. But if your aim is just to intimidate me into silence it's not going to work.
And trying to tell me 'well black people are not welcomed there or black people wouldn't get treated well in Palestine' as if that affects the cost of bread. Guess what? Black people face racism everywhere. Even among our own and colonialism has a lot to do with that. That same grandmother, I was fortunate to grow up with her in the latter part of her life after she returned to the island and every time I went out with her there were questions of whether my family worked for her. Or why was I, this little black girl with this little old white lady as if I meant her harm. She had to say proudly, "This is my granddaughter." How other people view me or treat me isn't going to stop me from speaking up for what's right.
With the history of my people I could never ever ever side with the oppressor. Ever. Whether its here in the west or in the east, whether it's happening to my fellow black people, or any other group of people, I cannot in good conscience stand with the oppressor. My ancestors were forcibly stripped of their humanity, called savages, animals, barbarians and all of that was brutally beaten into them. That same language and similar acts of brutality are being used against Palestinians today.
You think you can cower me into staying silent on that? With unfounded accusations of hate? I refuse.
N.B. - my use of the word mulatto here is strictly to provide the historical context of how my grandparents were seen/classified and spoken of. It is not a term we use.

Now can I ask an honest question. I have asked other certain blogs but they ignore my ask.
With regards to AB I know about the cultural misappropriation IG posts and the hand signal which to me was the just the ok subject which is used everyday in sign language. I don’t know it had in recent times come to have another meaning but can someone tell me is there any evidence of the antisemitism comments/behaviour on set or did she really did get fired from Mother Mary or is it’s just all rumor? The Mother Mary firing came from a certain blog and we are just meant to believe her. Remember they also she said was blacklisted in HW but then Mother Mary happened.
Justin and KiKo tweets aside from 8 yrs ago for the moment has she actually posted anything?
Not wanting to make excuses for her I just want to know what’s the truth and what’s ‘unproven rumor’.
In my opinion Kiko’s tweets are the worst because they were in really really really bad taste. That piece of shit she likes to quote and make a joke while using his name is the biggest mass murderer of all time. Also it did not happened once. There is no excuse, she isn’t funny and it’s bad to even talk about him casually, let alone quote him and joke about him. By the way this piece of shit persecuted Jews and lot’s of other groups of people based on their religion or sexual preferences. Nothing in my opinion excuses Kiko’s behaviour and she hasn’t even apologised publicly.
Justin’s problematic tweets are idiotic and stupid. Why mention that the girl at the gym was Asian, how does it relate to the story? Funnily enough Captregina did the exact same thing this week. But of course when she doesnit it’s ok😏 The fat joke was cruel and insensitive and stupid too which was also the way to describe Justin’s personality.
As everybody knows these tweets are 11+ years old. When they were tweeted Alba was a 14 year old child. I don’t know if she knew these people back then to begin with. So the dumbest thing to say is that Alba is racist only because when she was 14, someone she probably didn’t know yet tweeted racist or body shaming tweets. Also, when you make new friends you don’t go searching their social media from 11 years ago. You know who does that? Unhinged, deranged, jealous people who don’t accept the fact that their parasocial boyfriend has a real life girlfriend so they are desperate to find dirt on them so they can break them up😂 The hand signal is a yoga gesture that is wildly known and the fact they tried to pass it for a White suprematism thing is both hilarious and scary.
Everything else is made up rumours by the delulus. My favourite is “her co star on WN said that she was openly anti-semit on set. Proofs? Which co star? Where did they say that? I asked regina about that specific subject once, asking her for proofs, she said “it’s all over the internet”😂. Sure Jan because if this was true and you had proof you wouldn’t be pinning that all over your blogs lol. There is no proof whatsoever about ANY of the claims they came up with. They act as if they know people in Hollywood lmao but they know nothing.
Like everyone has been saying from the beginning, regardless of how you like or dislike Alba, saying that old tweets belonging to someone else makes HER a racist is BS. PR blogs are seeing themselves losing their narratives so they just tell people that if they don’t agree with them, it means “they are defending a racist”! LoL. I wish they had the same energy to spend on real racism issues instead!
Unless they give you a tangible proof about whatever they’re claiming, don’t believe them.

hello, was just wondering if you could explain the meaning of Zionist / Zionism to me? I'm a bit confused since I've seen a lot of Jewish people claiming it's anti semitic to be anti zionist? very genuinely asking here I promiss
i'm really not sure how to answer this one just because it's kind of complicated but also not at all and i'm very certain i'm gonna leave something out or say something wrong but i can try
the not complicated part is that at it's core, zionism is a settler colonial movement that seeks to colonize palestine. zionism is a violent ideology that thrives on racism and white supremacy.
in essence, "zionist" as a noun refers to anyone who supports this ideology.
but zionism takes many forms. it is, of course, impossible to extricate zionist ideology from this violence though, so when i say "many forms" it would probably be more accurate to say "many facades." the violent colonial movement is the core of it but it can look different from person to person. for example, you have the most transparent zionist who is unabashedly racist towards palestinians and arabs and doesn't hide the calls for genocide, but then you also have people who say things like "what israel is doing is bad or whatever but i still believe it has a right to exist." this is still a zionist statement because it encourages viewing "israel" as a legitimate state rather than a violent (and illegal) settler colony which it what it actually is.
as for the second part of your question: zionist jews will often say that to be antizionist is inherently antisemitic because they conflate the jewish religion with the zionist movement. i mean, israel is mentioned in our texts as the holy land! how could it not be justified!? the thing is though, "israel" (the settler colony) has only existed for ~75 years. and our religion (and the israel within it) is thousands of years old. so really the zionist movement took "israel" as a name because of that religious context, not that the religious context exists because of the settler colony. i think the prevalence of zionist jews in usamerica has a lot to do with the fact that zionism has poisoned american jewish institutions, so a lot of us are taught from a young age about "israel" and are taught about our religion through a zionist lense. so a lot of these jews truly believe that it's not possible to be antizionist and also jewish because, to them, judaism itself is zionist. to them it's not possible to be antizionist without being antisemitic because to attack zionism (or the zionist settler colony) is to attack what makes up jewish belief. that's not true and they only think this way because they themselves are zionists, but that's why you'll hear that rhetoric.
i have more resources on this but i am not remembering literally any of them right now because my memory is very bad but i'd really recommend listening to palestinians directly.

imo european kpop fans (or non-asia located kpop fans in general) need to get better at organizing. the reason kpop companies feel that they have the audacity to fuck us over time and time again is because we never move as a united front. it's not just concert pricing and touring dates, it's also cultural appropriation and racism scandals, homophobia, anti-semitism, fatphobia etc etc. western kpop fans rarely actually pull through when they criticize idols/companies on their behavior. boycotts don't last, threats are empty. of course companies don't give a fuck because their bottom line is never in jeopardy
i do, well. partly agree with this. there is an absolute difference in how kpop companies handle any non-american fans and if you think there isn’t, then. the entire argument already falls apart. especially in the past two to three years, there has been a definite shift in the way kpop companies have promoted in the west and that is the very distinct, obvious focus on the north-american market. hybe, for example, had an entire strategy that entirely focused on north-american promo and that was the sole goal for hybe after they established hybe america. (why do i know this? because my best friend worked at the american branch of hybe for over a year)
and it is evident. you saw the first bits and pieces of this shift when superm had their debut on an american tv show, when they sent bts to the billboard awards, and everything that has happened after. nct 127 has had an entire american tour last/this year and absolutely no dates for all other non-asian countries. seventeen has excluded anything that is neither america nor asia on their recent “world” tour. the truth is, that european fans get a few tours by smaller artists and groups, and other than that we only get well known performers in festivals. that wasn’t the case before covid; seventeen’s an ode tour was supposed to have european tour dates (that got cancelled), pentagon toured europe in tiny venues, it goes on and on. just saying.
so to speak of all western kpop fans like that is wrong, imo, because there is definitely a difference in how american stans are treated by these companies. they get WAY more. tour dates, extra album versions, events, all sorts of benefits, you name it.
other than that, kpop stans never had much of a backbone, so i agree with you. but that doesn’t change the fact that these companies treat america very differently compared to europe. (the treatment of non-european and non-american fans/places is a other whole can of worms that i will not get into now). but even so, look at international exols. they are treating exo way better than kexols, are actually a pretty united front, and yet we get nothing. all to say that this is a discussion with a lot of layers; i hear you and i partly agree with you but i think it is not simply down to the fact that they can fuck us over easily. i think there is also something to be said about making the demand known (and it should be known, look at how ateez sold out their european tour. same goes for blackpink. but these all had somewhat better organization, and yet european atinys were completely fucked over compared to ustinys).

What in God's holy name is toxic positivity and how did it get so popular?
Alright, let's start first with the idea of comedy...and shit comedians.
Tumblr media
Here is kinda where it first started.
Racism, Misogyny, transphobia, anti-semitism, homophobia.
Those jokes just aren't funny!
And yet the comedians love to complain that people cannot take a joke when their idea of a joke is so awful and rude.
Rather than admit they're wrong, easier for the hateful people to claim its not their fault, and that their audience is awful. Do you know what I call criticism? I call it being helpful in offering feedback on improvement while also being respectful.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, that's not how critics operate.
They go more along the lines of
Tumblr media
Or
Tumblr media
So basically, the grand majority of critics, such as fatmanfalling, judgmental critter, twiins iink, and of course the RWDE Community.
They just want to hate, or at least corrupt RWBY into their fetishized image.
But they can't allow others to see what they're doing as being bad.
Tumblr media
They can't allow people to see that they truly hate a show and its writers...they want to be seen as victims.
Its easier to get people to hate what you hate, if you claim to be a victim of the show and its fandom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the critics demand the right of criticism over all us.
It does not matter how nasty and deceitful their words are. "Freedom of speech and opinion". Even if they're being hateful and dishonest, the claim that they're being oppressed by others who cannot take criticism is very catchy on social media.
And that's the core belief behind the accusations of toxic positivity.
The belief that no matter how nasty or lying you are, you are within your rights to do so, and the people opposing you for such beliefs are trying to silence you because you cannot take criticism or different opinions.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, due to so many youtubers willing to defend the worst haters in the show, and promote hate against men and women defending the show?
It is sadly far easier to hate the show and the fandom based on the rampant misinformation.
its why hbomberguy made a 2.5 hour video of lies. Anyone who does 10 minutes of google search will see that Harris was lying the whole time.
But would you rather spend 10 minutes trying to find truth? Or would you rather watch some bald british dude ranting and hating for 2.5 hours?
Most people prefer to hate. You do not see people making videos defending RWBY, though they are there. You do not see people making videos defending legend of korra. You do not see people making videos defending She-Hulk.
No , you only see videos hating them. And the moment people who like all of those shows stand up, the youtubers immediately call upon their followers and demand harassment of the defenders.
"Monty's vision"....You can look to Monty's Tweets as to what he said about RWBY...but not a single RWBY Critic aka RWDE will EVER bring up those quotes... They'd much rather put words in a dead man's mouth, similar to how Christians love to do so with their prophet. Both dead men were very progressive, yet the "vision" people will never respect that
Tumblr media
At the end of the day, these are the critics.
Tumblr media
They have this religious hatred towards rwby and its fnadom
Tumblr media
Clearly the RWDE community can't be at fault, right?
Tumblr media
As TheFloofArtist was putting it.
Tumblr media
Imagine making gore and snuff art to hate on women?
Tumblr media
Imagine making edits targeting LGBT Women?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Denying that what one does is hateful or malicious, claiming to be a victim.
Its a lot like how Bullies in the school system shame people for standing up against them, and teachers punish not the bullies, oh no, but the bullies' victims.
And this sadly, is the problem.
Toxic positivity...is basically a term used by people who hate on a show and its fandom...as a means of defense against those who disagree with them, and as an intended tool of validation of their hate.
For Gods Sake, RWBY is a cartoon!
Can we stop acting as if RWBY is some crime against humanity just because the villains are straight white males and the protagonists are LGBT-coded females?

Title: One Last Stop
Author: Casey McQuiston
Genre: Fiction | Drama | Romance | Friendship | Sci-fi | Mystery | LGBTQ+
Content Warnings: Implied Homophobia/Racism
Overall Rating: 10/10
Personal Opinion: I love this book. I don’t read a lot of WLW stories (which needs to change) but I love all the unique personalities and the humor and the mystery surrounding Jane Su. I expected this to be a very slice of life story but it turned out to be so much more than that. August Landry had an unusual upbringing that made her feel like she couldn’t trust others. But then she ends up rooming together with the nicest, coolest people on Earth. And on the Q train, she meets the nicest, coolest girl on Earth. And as August opens up over the course of the book, you will end up falling in love like she does.
Couple Classification: August Landry X Biyu “Jane” Su = Nerd X Punk
Do I Own This Book? No but it’s definitely on my wishlist.
Spoilers Below For My Likes & Dislikes:
Likes:
- First and foremost, Jane is legit the coolest person ever. I love her. I mean, she was out there fighting for civil rights in the 70s! She was in the thick of it! She protested against the Vietnam War, she beat up anti-semites, and she gave one of her pride pins to a 15 year old boy that just came out. She is so cool and the true meaning of punk. I’m not even sexually attracted to women and I kid you not, I am in love with her. August hit the jackpot is what I’m saying. Plus, Jane is Asian! That appeals to me directly. I love her.
- Second, August is a nerd and she’s adorable. She’s relatable too. Well, not her childhood of searching for a long-lost uncle but the part about her being alone and not knowing where she wants to go with her life is. She was anxious about graduating college because it meant she would lose that structure. Before New York, she never had people that she considered friends. I felt all of that in my soul. But she’s a truly nice person despite her loneliness. She helped Jane try to get unstuck from the Q line, she encouraged Wes to go for Isaiah, and she went with Myla to meet Gabe, just in case, to protect her. She also takes notes on everything, including the things Jane likes in sex, and that is also somehow adorable? I don’t know, August just felt like the perfect blank slate protagonist while also having enough personality to separate herself from the reader. It was just really well done and I respect it.
- August called her New York friends her family! Niko is a legit psychic—which, so cool. He’s also trans and Hispanic and he’s got tattoos and he’s overall super chill and cool. He didn’t get jealous when Myla was fake-flirting with Gabe and he always seemed to know things he shouldn't, which I thought was super cool. I’ve described him as cool three times but that’s honestly the best descriptor for him. Then we got his Black girlfriend Myla who graduated as an engineer from Columbia but is actually an artist who welds a bunch of random shit together to create giant nerves. She is just so impressive and again, I think she is so cool. Finally, we have the third roommate, Wes! He’s a disaster gay but he bakes for his roommates and he has a dog. That in itself makes him cool in my book. Plus, his little romance with Isaiah is so cute. I’m sure I would’ve been really frustrated with him had he been the protagonist but since he’s not, I get to enjoy their love story for what it is. When he said, “I am in love with you,” at the party, I was screaming.
- Outside of their apartment, we have Isaiah who is also a drag queen named Annie Depressant. Firstly, that name is brilliant and I imagine she lives up to it. The way he just easily went along with August’s perceived weirdness concerning Jane was so cool of him. Okay, honestly, there’s no other way to describe him than cool. Legit, I’m being vague and all but it’s because there’s so much context that I can’t just put into these sections. He is just so cool!
- Lucie is cool too! And she’s with a pansexual drag queen, Winfield, and it is adorable! And Winfield is cool too! And Jerry is cool too! Everyone who works at Billy’s Pancakes is so cool! That includes Jane!
- Listen, there are just so many unique personalities in this book but the fact that they’re all so cool means something. It probably means McQuiston is a great writer. I just, ugh, I’m at a loss for words for how cool everyone is and how enjoyable this book is.
- The mystery of Jane is part of the allure of the book. The first hint that she wasn’t normal was their very first meeting. The lights flickered and she just vanished. As someone who lives in New York, people do not vanish on the subway. It doesn’t matter how crowded it is. And then there’s the fact that she said she “can’t” when August asked her out. It was right after the train had stalled so in my mind, it felt like she had a free schedule. To me, that meant the only reason she “can’t” go is because she literally can’t leave the train. I don’t know how my brain went there but it did. And then in the following chapter, there was a Craigslist missed connection post dated 10-12 years ago. That would’ve made Jane 13 or so which makes no sense. Which means, she was on the train for years! Oh my god, it was just so fascinating and I loved learning new things about Jane. And I love that she stayed! Oh my god, I would’ve been fine with either outcome. Whether she went back to 1977 or stayed in 2020. But the fact that she stayed and wrote about the UpStairs Lounge arson attack (something I knew about already because I researched it for a poem I wrote) so that queer youth can know about it is just inspiring. She stayed and she meshed with everyone in the apartment so well and she’s the record holder of Rolly Bangs and she works at Billy’s again and I love her.
- A lot of this is very much a stream of consciousness rambling and that is because I love these characters. I love this book. I love that they live above a Popeyes and August says she trusts chicken. I want to live above a Popeyes and have cool queer roommates and meet the hot love of my life on the subway. She is living my dream.
- They had sex on the train! That’s not the important part though. The actual important part was everything leading up to it. August brought Jane a feast and she found music that would appeal to Jane and she made it so romantic even though they’re on a subway! I felt my heartbeat quicken with every word in that chapter.
- The comedy in this book is on point. Everything from their reactions to Gabe to Jane saying she befriended a train rat. I loved it. But the best joke, to me, when August met Jane again and her brain went for “Hi” while her mouth went for “Morning” and out came “Horny.” Like, that is, exactly my kind of humor.
Dislikes:
- Nothing comes to mind. I was originally going to be upset that Jane never reconnected with her family but then August went and found her family. It’s crazy. And also really sweet. And I’m glad Jane will have a chance at some closure with them. And she also has a gay nephew and that just makes me so happy because, as we all know, at this point, I love Gaysian men.
- Actually, one thing does bother me. The POV choice. It’s third person limited omniscient. It’s not a bad choice. I just wondered half the time why it wasn’t in first person when the narratorial voice had so much personality. And it felt like August’s personality. Sometimes, I’d see August’s name and I’d be momentarily confused because I would forget this wasn’t in first person. Again, it’s not a bad thing that this is in third person. I just wonder why first person couldn’t do the job just as well if not better.

KBL v. Thai BL: My Two Cents
So, I see the Thai BL v. KBL discourse on twitter and thought I'd chime in on it.
Most common KBL stan arguments I've seen:
Thai BL is bad. Bad acting, bad direction, bad editing, etc.
Most, if not all, Thai BL actors and stories are problematic.
Thai BL is just porn with no plot.
Thai BL actors are 70% jumpscares.
Most common Thai BL stan arguments I've seen:
Most KBLs are boring.
KBL stans are xenophobic and/or fetishize the Korean look.
Even if some KBLs are good, they're not all that much better than Thai BLs.
KBLs are just het kdramas w/2 men instead of a het couple (i.e., little actual LGBT representation).
Arguments I see from instigators who're pretending to take the high road:
Taiwanese BL better than them all.
"Only good LGBT content out of Thailand are the ones starring [insert their favorite femme actor here]."
My Take.
Both sides have some decent points and some completely idiotic takes. I agree with KBL stans that a lot of popular Thai BLs feature terrible acting and plot. Not all, but maybe 7 out of every 10 Thai BLs I've watched (mostly popular ones) either lack significantly in the acting or the editing department (with some lacking in both). Few are outstanding pieces of cinema (though I don't think those ones that aren't are meant to be).
Not only are so many Thai BLs just poorly made (and no, I'm not talking about looking expensive, I'm talking about hiring looks/nepotism/name recognition over talent), so many of them are just ill-conceived to begin with. Most popular Thai BLs are adapted from light novels which are just straight up erotica. And when you take the sex out, there's nothing of substance left. Nothing wrong with that (IMO). But I do see the argument from KBL stans as I, like many others, watch media to immerse myself in an entertaining and sometimes profound story (not necessarily just to get my rocks off). Obviously, a story can do both but it needs to be done well and be well-balanced.
Next, relative to actors in other industries a lot of Thai BL actors have been exposed for being homophobic/rape apologists/colorist/etc. Thai BLs also feature harmful tropes such as making darker skinned characters the bad guys all the time (while pale-skinned characters are innocent angels who can do no wrong), or actively shun darker/less eurocentric features. THAT BEING SAID, there's a couple of caveats I want to point out with this line of thought:
Thailand is by far the biggest producer of live action BL content and is simultaneously the most visible. Of course, there's going to be more instances of abhorrent behavior that make it to the twitter trends than that of any other industry.
Korean men are also not angels? Lol. Like did we learn anything from all the one hundred eleven million times kpop idols have been exposed for racism, anti-semitism, homophobia, and all the other -isms and phobias out there? Just because your fave KBL actor isn't hitting the media circuit like the Thai BL actors are (thus, giving more opportunities for them to expose themselves/be exposed), doesn't mean it's not happening or that they don't think that way.
Point is, both can be horrible with regard to the problematic aspect lol.
As for the Thai BL stan arguments, I agree that most KBLs I've seen are not that interesting beginning-to-end. Many of the ones I've watched are either just as bad as the worst Thai BLs plot-wise or horribly mid with no camp/kitsch factor to save it. Very rarely do I come across a KBL that gets me hooked either due to outstanding production or outstanding story (or both, ideally). A lot of this, I think, is because I hate the kdrama-style of production/directing that can suck the soul out of a heartwarming story.
Now, don't get me wrong, I hate the Thai rom-com style of production/directing with the heat of a thousand suns but the rare saving grace is usually its camp "so bad it's good" value. Either way, both take many Ls in the production department, regularly.
That said, I agree with a lot of Thai BL stans that a lot of KBL stans are reformed kpop warriors who simply prefer the Korean look (which is where we get so many KBL stans calling non-kpopified Thai actors "jumpscares"). I want to be clear here that I don't think all or even most KBL stans are xenophobic, but I said this a long time ago that many KBL stans who talk about the superiority of KBLs and the "inferiority" of Thai BLs move weird to me. You can like something and not use xenophobic dog whistles basically calling Thai BLs (and, come to think of it, even Filo BLs) poverty content and Thai actors ugly for looking too non-Korean.
Please understand, I'm not saying folks can't like what they like. It's about how you express that that changes things (e.g., saying X actor is not attractive is very different than roasting a certain skin tone or virtually unchangeable physical feature across swaths of people). Also, I hate when Thai BL stans use this argument as a way to get out of addressing poor quality we get from Thai BLs that prefer a marketable face/name over good acting/story. Exposing latent Korean superiority complexes is not the way to win the argument about Thai rom-com quality being piss poor.
Finally, the so-called bench riders who are really just anti-Thai BL (rather than pro-KBL): Taiwanese BLs are not magically superior to all just because you want to pretend to be better than the other KBL stans while also simultaneously hating on Thai BLs. Don't get me wrong, I love some Taiwanese BLs but 1) those folx using Taiwanese BL as a crutch are usually not being genuine, and 2) Taiwanese BLs have the most suspect incest relationship-to-socially acceptable relationship ratio of all time lmaoooo. Taiwan is not stranger to terrible concepts and questionable acting. We cannot continuously pretend that all non Thai BLs are the Citizen Kanes of our time whilst this fact persists.
Worst of all are those who stan ITSAY/BkPP (claiming that it's not BL and they're ~serious actors) but roast every other Thai BL (and hell, all BLs in general). Like girl sthu, ITSAY is a BL and BkPP are full time singers now. /j but forreal, I have a lot to say about this group of stans that I'll save for another post. (a/n: I adore ITSAY and am seriously impressed with BkPP but some of their stans are just...yeah)

I'm going to start creating...
ADOPTABLE VORE CHARACTERS!
Tumblr media
Here's the gist:
- preds or prey individually are $30 USD. They will be premade, so when I post a concept, it will be first come first serve! I will post an update when a character is sold.
- a pred and prey pair concept are $65 USD together, and have the same terms of first come, first serve as the individual characters.
- payment will be over PayPal!
- black and white sketches, fully shaded with a few extra concept idea sketches per character.
- each character comes with a small explanation of the idea behind the thought process, along with a few
- you get to decide name, pronouns, age, and develop the character as much as you want. You can even change the information that comes with it, or connect them with pre-existing characters!
- you also get the added bonus of being able to chose colors for the design without previous influences.
RULES:
- these characters are Yours once you buy them, but I still own the original art, so if you post the original art of the characters anywhere, please credit me!
- I will not be lining or coloring these concepts, as I do not have enough time to do so. However, you can line them or color them as much as you'd like.
- changing these designs is completely okay, and in fact encouraged! Add your own flair, if you'd like.
- please do not use any of these designs to promote hate speech, discriminatory behavior, or harmful actions. This includes anything in the racism, homophobia, transphobia, pro-life, anti-semitism, ableism, etc. range. Also, while darker concepts of course can be allowed, please do not use these characters to promote incest, beastiality, or pedophilia in any way.
- this one is less of a rule and more of a suggestion, but feel free to send me any art, writing, etc. You end up doing of these characters once you own them! I would love to see how they're doing and the world you may build around them.
- you can absolutely use these characters for fatal vore, sexual vore, or other sorts of kinks and less sfw content, however I personally do not enjoy seeing that sort of content so please remember to tag it accordingly and do not send me those works.
- you CAN resell these, but only for the same price or lower. They aren't really meant to turn a profit, they're for personal use!
I will be posting my first character for this soon, and I'll link each character back to this so it's easier to find the rules each time. Also, if you all have any ideas of a type of prey or predator design you would want to buy as an adoptable, you can send them in and I might design them!

Characterized by their hatred ideology, white supremacy, anti-Muslim, and anti-Jewish agenda, Proud Boys is a right-wing organization inspired by neo-nazi ideology. Despite their claims of being an antithesis of left-wing group Antifa, the evidence suggests that they are mostly driven by their own mission to propagate hate rather than tackling Antifa. Members of the group were involved in various radical activities that shaped the course of violence in the United States during the four years of Trump’s presidency. Who are these Proud Boys, and how have they shaped their ideology? What is the myth of Proud Boys? Do they really want to see American progressives, or it’s just another myth? Who are their leaders? Below are all the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) about them. Let’s look.     Who are the Proud Boys?Proud Boys is a male-only, neo-fascist, and far-right organization working in the United States. Motivated by white nationalism through violent campaigns, it is a self-described organization for western chauvinists. Canadian-British activist Gavin Mclnnes founded the organization in 2016. But the members of this extremist group were active even before the official establishment of the Proud Boys. The group is comprised of Trump supporters who show their allegiance to the former President Donald Trump often. They are also characterized by their anti-Muslin and misogynist rhetoric, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Anti-Defamation League claims that the Proud Boys are anti-transgender, anti-immigrant, and anti-Semitic. Their members have to proclaim that they are western chauvinists before joining the group. However, they deny the label of white supremacy on them and claim that they are merely banded together to oppose the anti-fascist movement Antifa. These claims of the extremist group are mere rhetoric, as they are mostly seen carrying guns and bats during protests, chanting the slogans of white supremacy and racism.  Where does the radical name come from? What is the Proud Boys uniform? The name “Proud Boys” came from the musical version of the Disney film Aladdin. “Proud of Your Boy” is the first of the songs of the film. The name tends to portray a sense of pride in western culture. However, it is ironic that the group supposedly made to protect western culture derives their name from the song intended for the eastern culture. The Proud Boys uniform also characterizes them as a separate group. They wear Fred Perry twin-tipped T-shirts and blue jeans with MAGA caps. They are also recognized by their hipster beard and beer in hand.Who are the Proud Boys leaders?  Gavin Mclnnes formed the far-right group of Proud Boys. Other famous leaders include Enrique Tarrio and Jason Lee Van Dyke. In 1994, Gavin Mclnnes started his career alongside Shane Smith and Suroosh Alvi, launching the Voice of Montreal, which eventually transformed into Vice Media. Mclnnes left Vice Media in 2008 and moved to a new-right that was a combination of western chauvinism and political libertarianism. His shift was also defined by misogyny and anti-Muslim and anti-Israel sentiments. In September 2016, Mclnnes officially founded the said group. So, the unofficial violence was started long before 2016, and the group only became organized after Trump became a prominent politician. Enrique Tarrio was designated as the chair of the radical group in November 2018. He also leads the “Elder Chapter” of the organization, which consists of Harry Fox, Heath Hair, Patrick Williams Roberts, Ethan Nordean, aka Rufio Panman, and others. Jason Lee Van Dyke, popularly known as Van Dyke, started as the organization’s lawyer. He eventually replaced Mclnnes as the chairman of the group for a brief moment until he left the organization.  What is the Proud Boys myth? Do they really want American progress? It is an established fact that Proud Boys is a far-right racist organization having the capacity to perpetrate genocide in the US, if remains untackled, via white supremacy.
However, another school of thought evinces members of the Proud Boys unified just to fight other far-left organizations such as Antifa. So, this is also a common notion that it is a sort of Proud Boys vs. Antifa tussle that is endangering the United States. The group even wrote on their website that they condemn white nationalism and white supremacy. But, actions speak louder than words, and their involvement in the Capitol riots also suggests that their sole purpose is to drive the white supremacy agenda in the United States. A few days before the attack on Capitol Hill, one of the leaders, Kyle Chapman, was trying to rebrand the group as a white supremacist group, which is the reality of this group. Many of the supporters of the radical group believe that their leader is Enrique Tarrio, a Cuban-American. They try to deny the label of white supremacy using the name of Tarrio. Tarrio has also been arrested recently for burning Black Lives Matter banners and flags. Still, it is also a reality that Tarrio is not enjoying the support as other leaders such as Chapman, who believe that the West was built by the white race alone, and they alone have the right to rule it. Chapman is often seen portraying the notion that the group should be converted into an anti-Semitic and white supremacist agency. He often uses his Telegram channel to promote these similar types of messages that triggered the genocide in the Hitler-era. The members of the Proud Boys even referred to the origin and spread of coronavirus to the Jewish and Chinese people to tarnish their reputation. They organized a 2017 white supremacists rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that ended up being a deadly one.  Why did Canada ban the Proud Boys?Recently, The Canadian government designated the Proud Boys as a terrorist entity fuelling violence and hatred in the country. Hence, Canada ended up banning the far-right group. Why are they termed as a hate group despite their claims?Despite the claims of some members of the Proud Boys that they want a progressive America, they are regarded as a hatred-driven group. They term themselves as upstanding members of a community that likes to drink beer and tell jokes. However, the Southern Poverty Law Center does not believe the same. According to the Center, the Proud Boys is a hate group because of its anti-Muslim and anti-feminist rhetoric. The Southern Poverty Law Center is a national civil rights organization working in the United States to track extremism and extremist organizations. The list of violence injected by this extremist group is rather long. Two members of the organizations were sent to jail for gang assault; other members were found using pepper spray to disperse counterprotests; they were even seen carrying guns in the protests. After all this, there is nothing left that can go in their favor to classify them as an anti-violent group. What is the link between the Proud Boys and Donald Trump?“Proud Boys, stand back and stand by.” These were the words of Donald Trump during the first presidential debate. The boys celebrated these comments of Trump. Many interpreted this as some sort of secret message to continue insurgency. The records of law enforcement agencies and videos shown on social media also suggest that members of the Proud Boys were also seen in the anti-Black Lives Matter protests, for which Trump voiced his support. The Proud Boys leaders also appreciated the attack on Capitol Hill, for which Trump became the first president to be impeached twice as Congress gathered to certify Biden’s victory on January 6. Surely, if Trump ends up in prison, these members would play a critical role in helping him serve a jail term.   Video Summary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydUKhxPQHmk&ab_channel=EliMshomi

What is your Hogwarts house?
I have a bit of an odd relationship with the Harry Potter books, as the upper crust finishing school Britishness of it rubbed me wrong from the start (in a way that, say, The Magicians doesn't). I much much prefer Le Guin's Wizard of Earthsea for the bildungsroman take on wizard school (which I'd read when I was in ~3rd grade).
And so I read books other than Harry Potter. When my kids read them though I poked around a bit to check my intuition, with nothing either particuarly bad or good popping out, but that was it. Of the books they read I ended up reading the Golden Compass instead (which is a great takedown of authoritarianism).
But then we saw the first Harry Potter movie... And the racism popped out front and center -- it was obvious exactly where its vile Protocols of the Elders of Zion tropes came from. At first I was a bit shocked this had slipped by people... but then, yeah, of course anti-semitism is still around.
I leveraged this to start talking and reading about history with my kids (Cartoon History of the World is great for this) and where such racial caricatures come from, so it worked out well! But it also meant I had /zero/ interest in reading them once my older son confirmed the books were the same.
So all this later on TERFing from JKR? I was surprised by how blatant it was, but not by the direction, and I've kept essentially the same view of JKR for 20+ years.
But! To answer your question, in the spirit of taking just the good parts of Harry Potter, in the way that I feel most who first read them as kids did...
Ravenclaw. Obviously!
Though I'd rather speak my true name and so pass through the Ivory Door into the Wizard School on Roke. Like to think I'd make a better go of it than the Jasper in the story though!

People using black trans women to make a point (and usually be really shitty) is a real problem.... got told at a ballroom event by a cis fucking white gay man that I "was biologically female" and that out of respect for the black trans women who created ballroom, I should "know to stay in my place" (I was literally just gently correcting him on the use of pronouns to address me, and he went on a rant about boohoo afab trans people are so mean for not wanting to be seen as women boohoo denaturing ballroom by existing in it). And like its not the only time I've witnessed this kind of bs in irl queer spaces... How dare these people use black trans women to justify their shitty behavior. I think they would have wanted you to shut up and stay in your place, actually.
This sounds like an awful experience and really makes it clear that the more we glorify historical figures, the more people will use them as tools rather than seeing them as people.
This way of thinking really feels like an unexpected result of the demand to stop talking about uncomfortable aspects and people from queer history. It comes to the point where the good people can't just be good people, they have to be saints, martyrs, gods, images of perfection, and if they are all those things, using their names is enough to validate any point a person tries to make.
Marsha P. Johnson can't just be a transgender woman, who was imperfect, but did her best to support the community around her; she has to be the progenitor of the queer community and the reason that any queer person has rights.
Oscar Wilde can't just be a deeply flawed anti-Semitic man, he has to be the epitome of the dandy archetype who led the way for all queer men. Of course, if we acknowledge his bigotry and imperfections, that means we must ignore the moments where he did get things right, and how, deserved or not, his name and legacy have served the queer community in positive ways.
Then there is Walt Whitman. A queer poet who has meant so much to me personally, and was racist. He has deeply impacted the roots of the queer community in both Europe and North America, and those roots are tainted by racism. There are letters from other queer heroes of mine, telling him how he taught them how to love themselves and be queer at the same time. My other favourite poet Langston Hughes also loved Walt Whitman's work. None of this erases the racism.
If I wanted to justify my love for Walt Whitman, Langston Hughes could become a tool to do so. An incredible Black poet who shaped my understanding of compassion could become just a name to use to win points.
Having all these stories in my head can be difficult, I have written around 150+ of these articles now. To be vulnerable for a moment, a part of the reason I went to therapy for the first time was because I was beginning to experience second-hand trauma from some of the things I have seen and learned. But I love these stories, I love them so much. Queer history is not a tool, or a trump card, or a point in your progressive bingo, it is a series of stories, a web of truths, and a legacy of imperfection that is just waiting to be explored. So seeing people use them, use these full massive intertwining stories, with no love, no respect, no care, can be incredibly disheartening.
When looking into history, the whole truth can feel like an impossible goal. So many things are lost over time and misinformation has won out over fact more times than we like to think about. But we can do our best, and look for reality beyond the fiction, and some people will still choose fiction, but truth is the antidote, and I believe it can always be found.

Restricted and Closed Practices II
Restricted Practices Eastern European Religions Eastern European religions include Catholicism and other forms of Christianity. Now, you do not have to be mentored or initiated to be considered a Christian. The restricted aspects of this are more in place for those who seek to obtain some sort of status in the hierarchy of Christianity- priest, cardinal, bishop, pope… All of these typically do require one to be baptized and chosen by their superiors in some way. Hoodoo
Hoodoo is a spirituality that was created by African slaves when they were brought to North America. It evolved based on African spiritualities, incorporating some Haitian, European and Indigenous folklore into it over time. Practitioners of Hoodoo were commonly African slaves, and due to this their work had to be kept secret from their slave owners. You could imagine what the punishments would be for practicing Hoodoo during those times, but I won’t get into that since it could be triggering for some. Although Hoodoo is dominantly practiced by black people, there are some people of other races who authentically practice Hoodoo. There are some people who find the practice being used by anybody other than black people to be controversial, but there are also black people who state that as long as you honour the origins of Hoodoo and pay respects to the slaves that developed the practice, you can learn it. Judaism Judaism is restricted, mostly for religious reasons but the history of the Jewish people could also be taken as a perspective as well. There is a process for converting to Judaism, which typically involves finding a Rabbi. The person would also need to begin studying Judaism- the religious texts, the holidays, etc… Of course there are other aspects depending on if you were born into the religion or not, as well as if you were attempting to seek placement in the hierarchy. There are more steps to converting to Judaism, so if that is something you wish to research feel free to. We also must acknowledge the history of the Jewish people. During World War Two, around six million Jewish people were murdered by Nazis. The methods used to murder these people were gruesome, so if you wish to research that feel free to. Although anti-Semitism did not begin with Hilter and the Nazis, they were one of the biggest faces of anti-Semitism in history. Anti-Semitism is still a problem today, which is why Judaism and its practices being restricted needs to be respected. Sikhism Sikhism is a religion originating from the Indian subcontinent. Although there isn’t necessarily a “hierarchy” in Sikhism, the communities are responsible for choosing five respectable people to be in place of authority. Although I was unable to find information on a specific conversion process, I would still urge you to seek out people that are within this religion to learn more about it. One particular word that people seem to find problematic that is in relation to Sikhism, as well as other Asian religions, is the use of the term “Guru”. Gurus were significant spiritual masters dedicated to their faith, and in Sikhism there were ten of them. The use of this term in modern times is seen as problematic because the Gurus of the Sikh were such important spiritual leaders, and their role in their religion was not taken lightly. Some view the use of Guru in some contexts to be disrespectful to the religion Hinduism The topic of Hinduism being restricted is a little tricky. Hinduism, like many other Asian religions, does tend to get appropriated by westerners a lot. Think of the western idea of Karma as one example of this- the original concept of karma that roots from Hinduism and Buddhism is NOT what westerners have made it out to be. Now, Hinduism is actually more of an umbrella term for a variety of sects, some of which are restricted or closed and some are not. The general understanding goes that, as long as you seek information from a true Hindu and respect the religion and its practices (especially if they are restricted or closed), you can convert. Tread carefully when getting into Hinduism- do lots of research; seek out a true Hindu to learn. Buddhism Similar to what I mentioned earlier, the topic of Buddhism being restricted is tricky. You can convert to Buddhism and use Buddhist practices, but there are certain practices that do have a limit for how open they are. Take chakras as an example- everybody has them, and you can work on your own chakras. However, you should avoid attempting to work with other people's chakras unless you seek
a mentor to teach you how to properly do so. This is another religion where you should do lots of research and seek a true practitioner from the religion. Gardenarian, Alexandrian & Corellian Wicca I’ve mentioned this before, but Wicca is a far more modern pagan religion than the rest. Wicca, generally speaking, took inspiration (in many cases, appropriated) other cultures and incorporated it into what Wicca is today. Although Wicca is generally open, these three branches of Wicca are considered restricted and typically require invitation and initiation. Shamanism Now, shamanism in particular is restricted depending on the culture. Many cultures have their own form of shamanism, and although most are restricted, Indigenous (North American) shamanism is considered to be closed. This will be explained later in the lesson, but for now we will focus on shamanism in general. As I already stated, different cultures have their forms of shamanism. The general rule is if you wish to practice shamanism, you must seek out a shaman and ask for mentorship to learn it. Although you may find all kinds of information on how to practice shamanism online, most of the information was stolen from other cultures and altered. Sami This one is particularly tricky. There is some historical evidence that the Sami influenced Norse paganism, and that there are some similar practices between them due to this. This makes the debate on how restricted Sami traditions are difficult to determine by outsiders. Yet another culture where you need to find somebody from the culture to get truly accurate information, but there are aspects of the Sami culture that are more closed than others. Closed Practices Indigenous Practices
Every Indigenous tribe has their own culture and traditions. Some tribes have similar traditions, but this happened over time through respectful teachings and trade. There are various titles within Indigenous tribes, such as Elder or Medicine Man/Woman. These titles aren’t given out easily- they are earned by those to seek them. Those who seek these titles go through years of training and initiation to earn these titles. Earning these titles means a great deal to Indigenous people, and to have outsiders take these titles and use them to scam others has become a major problem. Indigenous people do speak out about this, but they tend to get overshadowed. Beyond the cultural reasons for Indigenous practices being closed, there are also a lot of historical reasons. When Europeans arrived in North America, they also brought disease and genocide with them. Not only that, but they were forced to adopt European beliefs. This caused a huge shift in how Indigenous people practice over the centuries, and for a while they had to do everything in secret. At one point, it was completely illegal for Indigenous people to go through with their practices and ceremonies, and this didn’t change until 1978. If this isn’t bad enough, residential schools were put in place starting in the 1830s, and didn’t get completely shut down until 1978. Residential schools were boarding schools specifically for Indigenous children, where they were forced from their homes and taught how to be more “civilized”. In reality, these schools were just a hotspot for abuse and death. Indigenous children were forced to adopt Christianity, were not allowed to speak in their native language, cut their hair short and were never allowed to do anything that seems “Indian” to any extent. Punishments for breaking rules included washing their mouths out with soap, being locked in guardhouses and any form of physical abuse imaginable. Families were not able to keep their children from going to these schools because, if they resisted, the families would be arrested and forced to have their children taken away. With all of this in mind, please avoid using any and all Indigenous practices. This includes using their sacred medicines (such as white sage), using sacred tools (such as dream catchers), attempting to perform a powwow, etc… If you think you have Indigenous blood, find the name of your ancestors to prove it. Blood quantum is not relevant. Polynesian Religions Similar to what I wrote about Indigenous tribes, there are both religious and historical reasons for them being closed. Unfortunately, the historical reasons are very similar. There are different Polynesian religions, such as Hawaiian and Cook Islands Māori, and although they have similar histories each one is very different as well. Please do lots of research and avoid using their practices. Santeria Santeria is for those who have Cuban and other Latin American heritage. Similar to what I explained about African slaves and Hoodoo, Santeria grew out of the slave trade in Cuba. Today’s Santeria practices developed from a combination of the African Yoruba religion and Roman Catholicism. All Variations of Voodoo/Vodou African religions and their forms of Voodoo, Haitian Vodou, Cuban Vodou… There are plenty more forms of Voodoo/Vodou, but all are closed. All of these religions and their practices faced discrimination, racism and other acts of hate throughout the centuries. Although colonizers tried to wipe them out and “civilize” the people of these cultures, these practices still thrive today. Information about these religions and their practices that are authentic is hard to come by due to outsiders attempting to take their practices and adjust it to fit their narrative, however it is safe to say that since all of these religions have their own religious foundation and origins, they are closed for religious reasons just as much as they are because of historical reasons.

Harry Potter is just too much of a staple of children's lit and culture in general. Chances are if someone is stocking a shelf for kids, Harry Potter is going to be there. If you're talking about the fantasy genre in general, you're probably going to be bringing up Harry Potter. JKR is a household name at this point. It's reached critical mass of popularity so in either fame or infamy, JKR is going to be relevant, and when it comes to getting money or spreading rhetoric infamy is hardly worse. I think we'd best deal with it by facing JKR head on. Point out where she's wrong and her inaccuracies. Really educate people on how TERF rhetoric works (rather than just "TERFs bad" which... they are, but that makes people vulnerable to being converted when their knowledge is basically "TERFs bad" and then those TERFs start appealing to their internal biases and start making sense because you don't know how to call out their BS). Start going after people not for publishing her new HP property but for when they publish transphobic trash because then you can really nail them for being transphobic bitches (seriously BBC, WTF!) (also the fact that JKR's transphobic stuff specifically is popular is very revealing about how much transphobia there already was). Even if every trans person and ally stopped buying her shit or talking about her, she'd still have so much fucking influence and it would then go unchecked. The relevance is going to stay regardless of what we do, I think it's best if we do what we can to make sure that relevance features not one lady being transphobic but one lady being transphobic and a bunch of other people explaining why she's wrong. And that includes fandom. Harry Potter fandom is here to stay so I think it'd be better if we utilized that community in ways that challenged JKR's transphobia (and let's be honest, other issues like racism and anti-semitism) so that the audience for Harry Potter is exposed to people who know JKR is spewing shit rather than withdrawing from those communities where JKR and each other is going to be their primary influence
--
See...
At 40, I am shocked at how many "staples" of my youth have already dropped out of sight while other things endure. 40 is just not that old, not for this kind of thing.
People still like The Hunger Games, but not to the same degree, and much of the rest of the YA boom sank without a trace in a matter of a few years.
Things do not endure how you think they do.
Even with HP's massive clout, I've already seen a massive change in its perceived ubiquity between people who are in their 30s now vs. their early 20s.
LOTR was not ubiquitous right before the movies came out. It has gone back to not being ubiquitous. Yet if I were discussing certain kinds of fantasy, of course I would bring it up.
I think we absolutely can change what is ubiquitous, both in wider society and especially within little nerd circles of our nearest and dearest.
Why shouldn't my tumblr be entirely my thoughts about Kingdom? Or E.J. Russell?
But I agree with your overall point: fandom and society at large need more clear explanations of what's wrong with TERF rhetoric, especially the parts that are in all radfem shit and that aren't as overtly anti-trans.
I routinely encounter people on tumblr going "TERFs DNI" while spouting obviously TERFy talking points. That's a problem.

Let’s not forget about Hunter Biden’s laptop. You know, liberals. The one that showed “10% for “the big guy” (Joe Biden). The one with all sorts of scandalous material. That same one potentially had child porn on it. You spent years and years pushing a fake dossier, but now that a real scandal has appeared, you’re quiet.
Let’s not forget Joe Biden was getting money from Hunter Biden who was getting money from Ukraine, Russia, and China.
Surely, you will hold him accountable?
No, no. You won’t. You won’t even look in the same direction as him if blame is to be put on the table because he has a D next to his name and you voted for him. You haven’t held him accountable for 47 years, the course of which he has:
Called bankers “shyl*cks” (anti Semitic term)
Said “you ain’t black” to minorities if they didn’t vote for him (obvious racism)
Opposed school desegregation because he didn’t want his kids growing up in a “racial jungle” (obvious racism)
Said “Obama is the first clean, bright, articulate African American” (obvious racism)
Vowed to take away 2A rights on numerous occasions
Supported the crime bill that imprisoned often non-violent felons.
Upheld the system that you on the far left have spent years calling racist
Picked a running mate who unjustly imprisoned 1500 black people.
Said to American workers “I don’t work for you”
Suggested he’d put in place anti-free speech laws.
Participated in an administration that enjoyed dropping bombs on hospitals and children (“But TRUMP!!!111”-pulled us out of those wars? Yes, Trump did)
Picked a guy who said life isn’t worth living after the age of 75 (yikes!)
Pushes(d)clearly eugenic based policies (Planned Parenthood)
Was a big part of the administration that mobilized the IRS against political dissidents
Was a big part of the administration that spied on American citizens
Wants(ed) to take away our energy independence and economy (oil)
Pushed (ing) for 6 weeks of lockdowns (another way to ruin the economy)
Wants (ed) huge tax increases on everyone
Refused to condemn left wing violence (antifa, BLM, etc)
Voted for an endless war
Was part of the administration that said such classic hits such as “Russia and China aren’t competition for us” (he himself has said this before!)
Has already broken campaign promises (not declaring himself the victor until it was official- it isn’t official yet)
Has a LONG history of sniffing women and children, making them even MORE uncomfortable by GROPING THEM. Yes, even the children.
Was a big part of the administration that built (and used) the cages and passed the law that would put those cages to use- you proceeded to blame orange man for this, but not after first denying for months the “crisis at the border” that Loud Orange Man mentioned on several occasions.
Established the “largest voter fraud organization in American politics”
