Anyway, it’s so lovely that the letters are Stede’s way of articulating feelings he had but couldn’t put into words before his conversation with Mary, and that he expresses all that aching need in a form that he loves, because he loves books and stories and Shakespeare, to the man that he loves. Then he’s able to translate those words back into feelings and actions when they make love. And in the end, Ed gets to experience both.

Ed loves listening to Stede talk, and Stede is just going to submerge that man in words of love.
