I hardly ever get any time to myself because I do have a somewhat high position in the government, which can be stressful in and of itself, but what makes my job uniquely difficult is that I am in charge of several special agents, but while that also can be difficult, within my supervision are two special agents investigating strange phenomena, and while both are highly intelligent, it seems that their favorite thing to do is putting themselves in extremely dangerous and life-threatening situations that often require my help. Their explanation for what happened often involves the crazy one saying it was something called a fluke man and the one with a Ph.D backing his claim. Whenever they get too close to a top-secret government conspiracy this chainsmoker just appears in my office and says something cryptic about how I must contain them for the greater good and how it’s above my pay grade to know why. The first time I took a day off was to move all my stuff into a new apartment after my wife divorced me, after which I proceeded to get framed for murder. The second time I took a day off was because I had gotten a life-threatening disease that would have killed me in 24 hours.

This might be the daddy issues talking but Agent Skinner could get it

And if given the choice between advancing my career by being blindly loyal to some faceless puppeteers pulling strings from the shadows, or to throw in with you two, make no mistake about it. I'd make the same decision every single damn time.

There's nothing better than having a show where you genuinely enjoy many different pairings and you know the characters would end up happy in different ways. Even more so when you still enjoy them 30 years later.

I honestly live for some Skinner/Scully. I really think that Skinner would be surprised every time Scully kissed him and would have a moment of shock before he kisses back. Even years and years after being with each other.

I want to do another one of them but after Skinner's hair has migrated to the front of his face.

The X Files season 4 episode 21 Zero Sum is so funny. Skinner is being black mailed into covering up a crime so he’s sweating up a storm going “I can not let anyone know I was involved in this. I do not know why I am covering this up but I will figure it out. I have to be very careful because I could ruin my career if I tip my hand, good thing I was very meticulous about destroying all the evidence” and then Mulder comes in going “Sir! I just found a picture of the killer” and it’s Skinner
