Ive never understood people trying to push not using references - even drawing from memory is technically just an internal reference. Everyone's internal reference is different.
Art doesnt happen in a vacuum.
Just because you use sheet music to play Mozart and can't do it from memory doesnt mean you can't play Mozart. You just need reference.
You won't reach a point where you don't need references anymore 😭
Even artists who freedraw regularly still do studies, refer to their past work, keep character sheets at hand, etc
Please don't impose that expectation on yourself just because of a live demo, tiktok, or timelapses especially
