Funny how Tim is a college drop-out and Jon hasn’t step foot in a single college class but their boyfriends are overachieving intelligent af people. Like Bernard is double-majoring and pursuing a career as a chef, Jay is running a news stream on his own, going to university and participating in clubs while being a superhero who’s helping rebuild a country.

So Jay is in Injustice!! and he is precious. henceforth in this post, he shall be referred to as Injaystice.
We’ve got black hair as opposed to pink and an inverted hoodie that honestly kind of slays. He lives in Gamorra, and presumably with his mom.
More than that, as opposed to our Jay, he’s much more openly awkward and affectionate, going so far as to offer Jon a hug despite not actually knowing him:
(first jayjon hug, btw.)
This is in contrast to our Jay, who is, to put it delicately, touch starved as shit and very very bad about initiating any sort of physical affection.
Plus, Injaystice... he’s much less concerned with being ‘cool’ around Jon. He’s openly a bit of a sweet-hearted dweeb, rather than the pragmatic and snarky Jay we know.
Side note: “it’s okay. i like when my jay is weird and inappropriate.” is making me want to eat glass. that’s literally the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. fuck you.
So combined, plus with the context of Injustice’s story as a whole: I think Injaystice is the version of Jay who was never traumatized by Bendix.
Gamorra was never overtaken by Bendix, or if Bendix tried, Inclarkstice stopped him. Therefore, Injaystice lives in Gamorra, allowed to be the dorky and awkward kid that OUR Jay suppresses in favor of being Gossamer.
Which also probably means...
... That he doesn’t have powers to protect himself.

So, the other day @blurrilines and I were talking about jayjon in aosjk, and Blurri pointed out this to me:
Here, as Jon’s getting ready to fly off, Jon’s sort of explaining to Jay exactly why he can’t stick around for the rest of their date. On its own, a sweet gesture, and I really don’t think it needs much deeper thought.
So of course, i thought deeper about it.
Jon’s always been one to fly away without explanation if there’s danger; in Issue 12 of SOKE, he flies off literally mid-sentence because he hears a signal watch. And he and Jay have been dating quite a while. Logically, Jon would know that if he leaves suddenly, Jay will assume its Superman business and not something he did.
So why the explanation for why he’s the only one who can answer the call?
Well, because the last time Jon left suddenly, THIS happened:
Even if he says it sort of jokingly, Jay thought their relationship could be ending cause Jon dipped on him with no explanation.
So it makes sense that Jon makes an effort to not leave without explaining exactly why. It’s really sweet how he considers Jay’s feelings even while the world is in danger.
