Head Cannon time!
Also major V3 spoilers I guess?
TLDR: I think Kokichi cared about his class a LOT and can't always help his lying habits.
Tumblr media
Kokichi is infamously difficult to figure out, which is part of why I love his character so much, buuuut....
When Kokichi says he cares about his classmates I believe him. To me, he seems to get more and more desperate as each classmate dies. Before Rantaro dies he's not even that antagonizing to anyone (aside from his usual antics which I'll talk about at the end of this) and he actually stands up against Kaede when he feels like she's mistreating the others. Honestly I think he even cared about Miu. He defends her actions claiming that she was driven to the point of desperation by the other murders, and he also plays into her verbal abuse kinks a liiiitle too intentionally as far as I am concerned.
But, I think Gonta's death broke him utterly and completely. I believe him when he says that it should have been him, when he begs Monokuma to punish him instead, when he sobs afterwards. Call me naive, but there's something in the English voice actor's delivery that just feels more sincere than any of his other lines at that point.
I genuinely don't think he would have been willing to die to make his plan work before Gonta's death. I think his guilt over Gonta's death drove him to the extremes he was willing to go through with in the end.
Bonus head cannon: I think Kokichi might be a compulsive liar. I don't know much about the real life diagnosis so don't take my word for this here, but I think he feels powerful urges to lie. I also believe him when he says he "hates liars" and I think he includes himself in that statement.
Or not.
Who knows? He is a liar after all...
we have similar thoughts. i think this is all canon. and even after That happened and i cursed him a thousand times over i still said i'd believe in him. but i'm not still upset at all about him like not at all

what's something new you noticed on your rewatch of v3?
ah this is an interesting one!!! also a little difficult, since my memories on things like this tend to blend together quite quickly, so i’ve had to think a lot about how to answer (which is why this took so long, along with typing it all up, sorry for that!). i probably don’t have everything, but luckily i did take some screenshots while watching! so there’s some bits i definitely know that i noticed!!!
i was really focused on exactly how kokichi’s character develops because i did Know generally beforehand but i didn’t have a full clear progression in my head—and well it’s kokichi so there’s not really ever gonna be 100% full clear progression for him but i think i see it a lot more now!
like how he’s a lot more open to cooperation in chapter 1—he loudly supported going through the tunnel the first times, and was the one to suggest the daily dining hall meetings!
Tumblr media
he’s much more open about his intentions in early chapters (there’ll be more examples of this later, but here’s one for ch1! himiko quickly brushes it off as a lie but it really doesn’t feel like one)
Tumblr media
and he’s the one that’s the most insistent on monokuma being dead and the killing game being over. he REALLY doesn’t want anyone to get the idea of starting it up. and then there’s the shock when monokuma does show up (he quickly brushes it off with “at least it’s not boring” but you KNOW he’s screaming on the inside)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
actually, i’m just noticing this now, he seems to have a strange amount of optimism towards the idea that everything will just work out in ch1—he doesn’t even investigate because he thinks everything will be completely solved through the pictures, and to do so would be pointless, which he later expresses regret for. it’s overshadowed for most people, i think, because of the tunnel scene and his later behavior, but honestly the fact that he even tried it without skepticism in the first place, along with his insistence about monokuma being dead and thinking that rantaro’s case will solve itself… wow he is showing Quite a bit of belief here without reason! hmmmmmm!!
i’d say he probably compensates for that for investigating even outside of cases in ch2, and being more skeptical of things. when everyone tries to ignore the killing game, kokichi brings it up (he’s tried to ignore it before. it didn’t work). kaede’s death also had him believe that cooperation would be punished—she was the one encouraging it, after all, and look at what happened to her—upping his paranoia, and the fact that he still believed there’s a mastermind didn’t help matters! now he has to be careful not only about working with anyone out of fear he’ll be punished in some way, but also about who he works with, destroying any good chances of working safely with the group as a whole!! yippee!!! that’s probably even more frustrating for him considering his talent is literally being a leader of a group
“Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not saying we shouldn’t care about killing or dying… But I think it’d be better if we didn’t cooperate with each other… Actually, we *definitely* shouldn’t cooperate with each other!” […] “Think back to all of Monokuma’s actions so far. Whenever we tried to work together, Monokuma would retaliate with a plan to make us suffer. It happened when Kaede wanted us to cooperate, and again with these motive videos, right? Which means, the more we try to cooperate, the more he’ll try to make us suffer. That’s why I had no choice but to screw with you guys. But you ingrates didn’t even notice.”
THIS BIT GETS ME SO MUCH like Honestly he couldn’t be clearer with his intentions here. he denies an assumption he doesn’t care about death; he states his beliefs; he clearly outlines why he believes this with examples; even directly says Yes he screwed with them for a reason they just didn’t notice and tells them Why! (although he still has to insult everyone of course. he’s an ass who thinks he’s better than everyone else [affectionate]) but it goes ignored, and the reasoning is really interesting. shuichi’s thoughts are:
It’s *because* we’re trying to cooperate that Monokuma is making us suffer…? But what about… everything we went through..? What was the point of Kaede sacrificing herself…?
it’s been like 2 months since i was on ch2 so i don’t remember Exactly but i’m pretty sure nobody brings it up after this. it’s so interesting to me, i don’t have the brainpower to put my thoughts together more eloquently but i’m rotating it in my head. (i remember you bringing it up in the tags of the kaede/kokichi parallels post actually!!! mixed in with that bit about kokichi suggesting a family member of rantaro being the mastermind. i misremembered this the exact same way too until i went back to check i could’ve SWORN shuichi brought up the promise to kaede then but he didn’t💔iirc he actually considers the possibility? which was interesting but then it was never brought up again. Anyway back to the post)
rantaro also says something similar to kaede in ch1:
”You have what it takes to win…” ”What…?” “I was just thinking, what you said back there would have pissed off whoever’s running this. They definitely don’t want us holding hands, workin’ together… …They’re going to come for you, Kaede. With everything they’ve got. I’m a little worried about you. You’re just so…straightforward.”
and kaede just goes “geez that guy could stand to be a little less cryptic!” IT’S A REALLY INTERESTING PARALLEL TO ME and the fact that both him and kokichi describe “winning” the game 2nd survivor kokichi real
oh and also something i’ve been thinking about! i think kokichi had the mastermind plan forming in his head relatively early, but he didn’t actually want to do it at all, and didn’t start going “okay, i have to do this now” until about ch4. it’s more of a plan B, “if nothing else works, at least i have this”. but the issue is that in order for that to work, he has to keep it in mind until he knows whether he has to use it or not, which puts another barrier between him and working together with everyone else. even if other plans would be better if he could gain everyone’s trust, he has to keep the option available, so he can only gain people’s trust indirectly. he’s more actively looking for other ways to do this earlier on though, particularly in ch2. he expresses distaste about how people treat him early on (this bit immediately reminded me of the 4th trial where he’s like “bullying? yeah, what about it? that’s what you do in this game, right? you guys blame and gang up on me, but now you pretend to be good people?” and i was like Woa!!! his frustration in that scene does not come out of nowhere!!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it’s also the reason he frames the motive video watch party the way he does. if he says outright he’s trying to prevent more murders, and people don’t watch the videos, a later mastermind plan wouldn’t work! BUT, if he can get everyone to watch them, then his motive video plan works and people would know he doesn’t mean harm because they would see his video, better convincing them than he could do so himself! best case scenario there are no murders and people will see he’s being serious when he says he’s trying to help them. of course, watch party ends up not happening in the end, and also he’s lost quite a bit of trust from his closest ally (which could have also been prevented had he not been so paranoid since gonta DID agree to get everyone to watch the motive videos), so he’s getting closer to that mastermind plan.
another thing in ch2 is kokichi losing much influence in the group. this isn’t just because of the insect meet & greet! from the beginning people are wary around him, but he’s actually able to steer conversations in his favor at times, and if you look closely you can see his leader talent popping up. when he speaks up against kaede, the majority agree with him; the majority agree with him when he insists that the killing game is cancelled; again, when new flashback lights are presented, he expresses concern and everyone agrees not to use them. except kaito. and shuichi, i guess, but he doesn’t even get to answer before kaito cuts him off. people question kaito, he gives a speech to convince everyone to try them, and though it doesn’t work on kokichi, it sure works on everyone else!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they’ve clashed before, but now kaito is the one making things sway his way. this happens in the trial, too. kaito says he believes in maki without any reasoning, kokichi calls him an idiot, and everyone starts to agree. but things end up going in kaito’s favor. almost everyone else thinks he’s an idiot, but then tenko and shuichi switch around to his “side” of wanting to believe in maki despite all seemingly logical reasoning. most people still don’t agree with kaito before maki admits to seeing ryoma, but those two do, and kokichi is so baffled by shuichi believing in this (i feel like this could be worded better but i can’t think of anything right now, hopefully you get the idea though!)
the mastermind plan grows ever closer with ch3 and more being added to the courtyard message. it’s still not something he’d like to do. i’m unsure of the exact timeline, but i believe ch3 is around the time he asks miu for the inventions (possibly even earlier for the bugvac)? he wouldn’t be able to do it with her around, and he wouldn’t want to kill her just to keep to the plan. he’s probably trying to find the best moment to present the stuff to everyone so they can fight monokuma, and waiting for miu to make enough of them so that they can, considering there’s only enough electrohammers for the remaining people by ch5. but the guy’s in a tough situation, because on one hand he wants people to trust him so they can work together but on the other he needs them to distrust him in case plan B becomes necessary. he needs to be careful so that monokuma doesn’t notice him cooperating, because he also wants to keep being his favorite (i love it when he goes “riiiiiiight, monokuma? aren’t i so evil and twisted haha don’t you love me i am so entertaining if i died it would make the viewers mad haha right” he’s trying so hard). he doesn’t know who the actual mastermind is. people are already rightfully distrustful of him. but he still wants them to know his actual intentions, if they’re willing to. it doesn’t seem like it’s too late yet. (he is so wonderfully contradictory and human, i love him. paranoid asshole who wants to be Known but the idea is also terrifying and dangerous and he ends up sabotaging any opportunity for that to happen) so, he presents a piece of information he hopes will make people trust him: maki’s talent.
ok, well, that sounds like a lot of guessing stuff that’s not really in the game. i suppose. but i do have a reason!!! these lines stood out to me as i was watching:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
he doesn’t even follow up with “that might be a lie” or anything. he really does want to work together with everyone, it’s just that finding a good opportunity to show it safely is Difficult and people don’t believe him. and he is really set on the idea that trusting people too much is a bad thing. there’s a few reasons why he only chose to reveal her talent now instead of before, when apparently “given his position” he’s known since the beginning: kaito’s blind faith in maki prompting him to show that actually, she Isn’t trustworthy! the believing thing is stupid and false, see? hopefully getting more people on kokichi’s side rather than kaito’s side. he tries again later to get people on his side, accusing kaito of trying to turn everyone against each other by defending maki and dragging her places
Tumblr media
everyone mostly ignores him though and moves onto the flashback lights. as this and the next chapter go on he continuously tries to provoke maki, probably to get her to snap and show people she really Is just a killer or something, although she doesn’t budge until later. this was probably me reading too much into it but all of that did really stand out to me
well all the Good Plans fall apart with ch4. they could’ve all worked together using miu’s inventions but then The Case happened kokichi has a chapter-long mental breakdown ough it makes me so sad to think about. i mean after all that there wasn’t much coming back from it, the mastermind plan was likely the best thing he had. the “everyone hates me so the role of villain is perfect for me” always made me sad but especially This time after looking for everything else. dude…negative character development…..so good but also making me cry! me when i have good intentions but my own distrust and paranoia becomes my downfall as i start to have no one to turn to. me when the same person’s death that led the main character to become more open and outgoing towards others led me to become closed off and solitary despite both our earlier attitudes!!
he also succeeds in provoking maki in the end. i don’t have any particular comment for this i just took the screenshot i can’t remember what my thoughts were on it
Tumblr media
i don’t have any other screenshots to do with this so that’ll be the end of that i guess!!! not super eloquently worded i’m just kinda throwing ideas out there, i can elaborate on any points that might not have been super well-explained if you want !
oh and for more silly stuff:
Tumblr media
i like this maki line, it’s after shuichi says “about the size of a girl”. there’s one later (in ch4, i think) where i don’t remember what the first part was but she says “not to sound like tenko, but you men can really be like that”. these are 2 very throwaway lines but they almost make me think she was supposed to be the new feminist after tenko’s death (just without the weird stereotyping and much less extreme). she should’ve been. especially given kaito’s casual misogyny at times this would’ve been cool! unfortunately we didn’t get that :(
oh and
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
shuichi is a yo-kai watch fan, kokichi is a pokémon fan. this is a source of conflict between them and it is unknown if they can overcome this
okay i made this WAY longer than i should’ve. i’m sure there may have been more things but they’re slipping my mind. hopefully this is sufficient!

Phineas & Ferb AU
(Originally posted in The Saiou Lounge discord server, May 2022, "Literally just woke up and my brain was like "Let's assign v3 characters roles in a Phineas&Ferb AU" while I was changing clothes. So let's go")
the main duo is Kokichi and Kaito, at first I thought to make Kaito Phineas because he's more social, but the next thought I had was: Shuichi is Isabella so I switched it
so Kaito is mostly non-verbal like Ferb but ask him about space and.
(And he can also belt out songs) added by VendedHum
Cadence is Kaede, it's not the best fit, but listen, after a bit of adjusting: she's just worried about her little brothers, and sometimes has enough of it when construction work sounds from the backyard interrupt her piano practice
but it made finding a fit for Jeremy easier, it's Rantaro and instead of one devil-incarnate younger sister he has 12 and the younger they are the more against Kaede they are, so like the two eldest are actually chill about it, the next 3 just ignore her, but then there's 7 devils
Baljeet & Buford are Kiibo and Miu
technically, since Shu is Isabella and therefore in boy scouts instead of girl scouts, Miu is the only girl in the friend group but like, she's my Buford, find a better one if you can
she's a honorary boy because she ate a bug. She would.
there's no other girls in the neighborhood, she was desperate to make friends, Miu would do many things to make people like her, the fact that even wiki describes him as "a nice person with a tough guy attitude" makes me think she's a good fit for the role
and Maki is Vanessa
and Stacy (Cadence Kaede's best friend) can be Kirumi ig
Tsumugi can be Carl the Intern as a treat

Hey, it's me, and I'm asking. Plz explain the dvr3 despair au playlist. Plzzzz
You got it!!
•New Americana by Hasely
This is one of the ones I listened to a bunch while first figuring out the au back in 2022! It’s mostly there for just general vibes for the whole cast
•I Love You Like An Alcoholic by The Taxpayers
This is one of the ones there for Kaito and Maki lol, hard to go wrong with evil ship-y songs
•P.S I Love You by Robin Sparkles
One of the most Remnant Tenko songs ever lol, every part of it fits, she’s going through it lol
•Mary On A Cross by Ghost
This one is there for Angie! Not necessarily for any specific lyrics but just for the vibes lol
•Villain by Stella Jang
Fully a Tsumugi song, largely because there’s a really cool animatic with her to that song on YouTube
•Murders by Miracle Musical
I put this one on there for Rantaro as Kamakura! It has the kind of unnerving vibes I like for him
•The Fine Print by The Stupendium
This just has generally good remnant vibes, and really most villains in general (it’s on my Carmen Sandiego playlist as well)
•The Red Means I Love You by Madds Buckley
Another Tenko one! Focusing on her fixation on Junko
•Killer Queen by Mad Tsai
This one just is for Junko lol, applicable for cannon as well
•Who is She? by I Monster
Also Junko, it’s a really neat song!
•Seventeen by Marina

•Disobedient from Steven Universe
Another Kirumi one!
•Someone Gets Hurt from Mean Girls the Musical
I believe this one’s on there for Junko manipulating Kaito but I can’t fully remember
•Cough Syrup (Glee cast version)

•Magic Dance by David Bowie
Another Himiko one, with the others as the goblins interjecting lol. Mostly it works because it mentions magic and that’s her whole thing lol
•Below The Surface by Griffinila
This one’s for everyone! I did an animation with part of it for the au and it was fun!
•Evil Like Me from Descendants
So this is in the context of remnant Tsumugi talking with the tsumugi ai that was put in the neo world program (the Chiaki equivalent) since the ai one isn’t actually in despair she’s just programmed that way lol
•Monster by Beth Crowley
I don’t remember who this was for specifically but really it could fit anyone lol
•We Will Rock You by Queen
I this one was a combo of characters with each verse being about someone else, I feel like Kaito and Kokichi were involved but really you could probably make anyone work
•All Star by Smash Mouth
Another that’s just for the group as a whole!
•Class Fight by Melanie Martinez
Tenko again! I’m pretty sure all the Tenko songs are related to her feelings for Junko lol
•Kiss With A Fist by Florence and the machine
This one if for both Tenko and Angie! Because they do not like each other one bit in the au lol (it also works Really Well for Kazuichi and Gundham lol)

Junko talking with the whole v3 group
•Don’t Speak (Glee Cast Version)
Gonna be honest I fully don’t know why this is on the playlist anymore lol

Whole group
•Dirty Night Clowns by Chris Garneau
Kokichi I think?
•& by Tally Hall
Just a good remnant song in general lol, for any group of them
•Welcome to the Circus
Kokichi again! I think largely Junko taunting him

•E.V.O.L by Marina
Any of the remnant ships, take your pick lol
•Hypnotic by Zella Day
Junko manipulating everyone!

Hey! You!
Your Gonta post game headcanons! Now! /nf
POST GAME HCS... Let me see...
I always get hung up on talking about this kind of thing cause there's so many little details for how post game might work that alter how I think characters might deal with things that its kinda hard to nail down. But there is some general stuff that stays the same.
I think Gonta's desire to be useful would not have changed with his death. He's probably just as eager as before to help anyone who needs him. I headcanon that he's one of the first ones back on their feet after waking up from the simulation (just because he was physically very very fit before) so he tries to dote on anyone who lets him.
Gonta isn't the kind of person to avoid someone because he feels guilty or awkward. He would Immediately try to find Miu and apologize profusely, crying and all. Im not sure how she would react to all this... I've seen some people say she would be hesitant around him or flat out reject any of his apologies, and some say that she wouldn't blame him much and instead put most of it on Kokichi. Regardless, I don't think they'd be close post-game.
Now this depends on if they all woke up together or woke up concurrently and watched the game as it continued without them. In my headcanon, they woke up all together. In which case, Gonta would not hate Kokichi. Based on their last interactions before his death, Gonta would probably feel closer to him than ever. But (as I kinda got into in the fic I wrote) I don't think Kokichi could stand being around him At All after everything. I think after baring himself a bit in ch5 he would wall himself off completely. And that means cutting Gonta off. I think Kokichi would lash out and say whatever cruel things he would need to to get him to stay away from him. Which of course would really hurt and confuse Gonta, especially having never seen the ch4 post-execution.
I've talked about it before but I also don't really think Gonta wouldn't have many places to go when it comes to joining the others? My post-game friend groups (read: lunch groups) kind of look like this:
•Shuichi, Maki, Kaede, Kaito •Himiko, Tenko, Angie (wary truce between tenko and angie) •Miu, Kiibo (who wanders a bit) •Kirumi, Rantaro (also wanders, especially to shuichi's group), Ryoma (also wanders) •Korekiyo (solo) •Kokichi (largely absent) •Tsumugi (SOMEWHERE ELSE)
Gonta could join almost any of these groups and be welcomed with open arms, but it really doesn't feel to me like he fits neatly into one consistently. The groups that exist are tight, and despite being close with one or two of their members he's not like. explicitly invited I feel. If Gonta didn't show up, no one would really question it.
Post-game Korekiyo... is complicated. If he wasn't actually a serial killer, then I think him and Gonta could hang out a bit. But Kiyo has always preferred to be an outside observer who appreciates his alone time, and Gonta would respect that.
Basically, I just feel Like Gonta would be pretty lonely postgame. The major threat of the killing game (that he can face with his physical strength) is gone, so he would really struggle to find his place in the group. It would probably worsen his pre-kg and post-kg related self esteem problems.
One last thing: I like to think that Gonta still doesn't remember the virtual world, but a strong trigger could cause the memories to come back. For angst purposes, of course. Regardless, he would have a complicated relationship with the snow. I think he would just feel this inexplicable sense of dread at the sight of it.

200+ Followers Event: Drunken confession from Shuichi!
(For the sake of clarity, everyone mentioned is of legal drinking age! Also, Mod Celeste says to drink responsibly!)
Shuichi is not usually a drinker. He'll join Kaito and Rantaro at the bar every so often, though he's the designated driver pretty much every time. Not that he minds, of course. He'd hate to lose his inhibitions.
Last time the guys got together, Kaito told him about the annual class reunion in a few weeks. Despite the... quirkiness of his graduating class, Shuichi does still like seeing them every so often. Also, you would be there-- and he's been thinking about catching up since you are often out of the county for work.
"I know you'll be there dude-- y/n already RSVP'd." Kaito laughed as he smacked him in the shoulder.
So, once the day came, there he was. The reunion was usually held at a nice hotel's convention center. A fairly dressy event, but that didn't stop Gonta from not wearing shoes... "you have to admire his consistency," Shuichi thought. It put him at ease to see old friends.
He was making small talk with Maki when you arrived. Dressed sharply and beautiful as ever, his heart stopped at the sight of you. But it had been so long... what would you even talk about? Heck, would you remember him? The anxiety filled his mind.
Kokichi, observant as ever, saw him in this state. He scampered over, mischievous intentions clear, and struck up a conversation. "Heeeeey buddy, cat got your tongue?"
Startled, Shuichi stuttered out a response. "O-oh, uh... yeah, I suppose. Just a bit out of my element, haha." That was an understatement.
"Well... I think I know just the thing. Loosen up, will ya?" With his devious little smile, he passes Shuichi a glass of champagne. In a moment of weakness, he downed the whole thing. Though, it did help.
Looking for some better solace than Kokichi, the detective found Kaito and Maki once again. He saw you talking to the hotel staff, friendly and warm. They could tell Shuichi was a bit shaken, so the pair sat him down and tried to help.
"Listen, man. I know you've got the hots for y/n, so you should be honest!" Kaito was a pretty straightforward guy, for better or worse.
"Now now, Kaito. It's not always that simple..." Maki, the more thoughtful of the two, chimed in.
Shuichi sat at their table, dejected. "I'd love to, but... what if they don't reciprocate? What if I do something wrong?"
Kaito knows when he gets like this, positivity is the remedy. "Have some confidence! You're a really cool guy, and they know it. Just show them that and you can't go wrong! That's how I got Maki-roll, you know." She rolls her eyes, but can't deny it either.
He takes the advice to heart. Trying to embrace the night in stride, he has a few more drinks and makes the rounds to talk to everyone. Shuichi had planned on saving you for last, in the hopes maybe he'd catch you alone. However, the nerves got to him, as did the alcohol. By the time he walked his way over to you (it was more of a stagger, actually), his cheeks were flushed and he had an unusual expression.
"Uh, hey there... y/n." He attempted the charm of a movie star, albeit poorly. "How's it been?" He enquired.
He was clearly a bit inebriated. You thought it was cute, though. The entire night you'd seen him steal glances, only to turn away shyly. He wanted to impress you, and you knew it. You'd had some chemistry back in school, after all. You humored him and answered, with the same "cool-person" attitude.
In his state, he saw this as a win. So, he kept going. Maybe not being held back by his rational side was a good thing? "Let's say we go over the balcony, you and I... I'd like some more alone time with you, if you don't mind," He winked as he took your hand and guided you to the secluded spot. The guardrails were strung with twinkling lights and the view was just stunning.
You asked what his intentions were, and he finally came clean. "So, uh... as it turns out, I'm in love with you. Crazy, right? I have since Hope's Peak, really. I'm sure you've got an awesome partner already though, so this... this is without hope or agenda, okay?" Even in his drunken state, some genuine thoughts slipped through.
Hearing the words after all this time brought you peace. You hugged him tightly, reassuring him you had nobody else. His red face turned redder.
"Huh? Wait, you actually--- huh. I didn't plan this far..." you both shared a laugh at that. The night had worn on very long, however, and it was time to get going. You drove him home, and tucked him in. By that point, he was passed out. What a night!
In the morning, he was greeted with a horrible headache and a note on his bedside table. It read: "Hope you're up for some dinner tonight-- I have an extended stay here at home. Plus, it's about time for a first date, don't you think?" Signed with your name.
The shock finally hit him. "What did I do last night?" Shuichi was partly mortified, but...
Seems Kokichi was right about loosening up.

Tumblr media
Lust: Mikan Tsumiki.
Reason: It's implied she fakes all of her weird ecchi poses and suggestive "accidents" for attention, something Hiyoko calls her out for. She believes it's better to have negative attention than no attention at all.
Chastity: Gonta Gokuhara.
Reason: Gonta is best gentleman. Also, when you play as Kaede, he'll mention casually that he sleeps naked and then vow never to do it again when she says it's not something a gentleman would do, then proceeds to ask what else he shouldn't do.
Gluttony: Kokichi Ouma.
Reason: You'd think this would go to a food-lover, but gluttony is just "overindulgence", which he does a lot. He overcompensates for everything he lacks with lies, and he goes very over-the-top with a lot of his "scary" expressions. Plus, he's got one of the loudest and most obnoxious personalities because he never shuts up, and he loves to tease.
Temperance: Rantaro Amami.
Reason: He dies early, but he's overall the most "tame" Danganronpa character, a bit "boring" by nature, but he also seems like the type to advise moderation with things like alcohol.
Pride: Hiyoko Saionji.
Reason: Heiress of the Saionji clan, she is a bully who tears down others to assert herself as capable and deserving of respect.
Humility: Shuichi Saihara.
Reason: This role almost went to Nagito, however, unlike all the other true protagonists, Shuichi is the only one with an actual talent and doesn't *show* it with his demeanor. He's quiet, timid, and meek, unlike Nagito's fervent display of snobbism toward non-Ultimates.
Sloth: Himiko Yumeno.
Reason: Himiko is just... generally a lazy person. This role would've gone to Sakakura for shirking his responsibility, but I'm gonna go with a game character, and Himiko fits it the best.
Diligence: Kirumi Tojo.
Reason: Kirumi, being the Ultimate Maid, is expected to complete her work thoroughly, and she's often taken advantage of for that fact and forced to do things like massaging Tenko and being Kokichi's "mother". Even her dislikes have "Taking Days Off" written in it.
Envy: Tsumugi Shirogane.
Reason: She spends the whole game talking about how plain she is. Unlike humility, however, she says it in a tone that suggests she wants to be better than she is and like everyone else. Also could've been Nagito, but he already feels above non-Ultimates, so it doesn't work here. Tsumugi also envies others so much that she'd rather be them than herself, especially Junko.
Kindness: Sayaka Maizono.
Reason: She's a pop star with a sad home life. She'd have every reason to become a stuck-up snob, but she still goes out of her way to be polite to non-Ultimate characters like Makoto or characters who are generally "beneath" her, like Celestia, considering she's a criminal (gambling is illegal in Japan). You'd have to assume this was genuine, because this was before the Killing Game was introduced, and plus, she even spent her final moments trying to clear her framee's name, before she even know failing to convict the killer would result in execution (she never found out the consequences).
Greed: Celestia Ludenberg.
Reason: She's the only killer to kill for a genuine "selfish" reason (although I suppose it depends on what you'd consider selfish), that reason being money. She's a true sociopath who only cares for herself and those close to her (like her cat).
Charity: Komaru Naegi.
Reason: She has every reason to want to *kill* the Warriors Of Hope, but instead, she decides to put a stop to their antics and believes they can be reformed and are just hurt children, and she welcomes Kotoko with open arms when she joins the team.
Wrath: Maki Harukawa.
Reason: Maki not only forced a man into a position where he'd have to choose between either poison or crushing, but also tried to get everyone else killed to kill him on the off-chance he *did* survive and kill her love interest (who she also forced into the same position by mistake).
Patience: Chiaki Nanami.
Reason: She's incredibly kind and gentle toward almost everyone, even Nagito. She spends the entire game dishing out advice, and her patience seems to be limitless, only slapping Akane Owari for the purpose of calming her down.

Heists & identities (M/M, 2.1k words)
For Day 4 of @oumamiweek's Oumami week. This work was inspired by the prompt : Weight of the world / Partners in crime
Kokichi, Rantaro, and Kaito are detectives. Every so often and interesting case happens to appear - and now they have one involving a mysterious phantom thief.
No TWs apply
“So he calls himself,” Rantaro flipped over the dossier of folders again, “A phantom thief?”
“It’s certainly pretentious.” Kaito chimed in, “I mean, leaving notes at the crime scene? What kinda thief does that? It’s like they’re trying to get caught.” “I dunno, I think it’s pretty clever,” Kokichi spoke up from the corner of the room, still looking at the criminal’s facial composite, “Also ew, who’s making these composites?”
Rantaro looked over at them, he thought they were pretty decent. Considering they had practically no eye-witnesses (someone who was on the other side of the road allegedly saw them) and had to use the details of the break in to build a profile. “Our usual guy… what’s wrong with them?”
“They- look,” Kokichi squinted at one again, then brandished it, “They’ve given him a mullet. It’s almost as bad as Kaito’s hair!”
“What’s wrong with my hair?”
“Nishsishi, what isn’t wrong with your-” “-Kaito, Kokichi,” Rantaro interrupted, “We’re detectives. Solving a case, leave this ‘till we’re off work, please?”
Moving into a more normal sitting position, Kokichi set aside the photos and began to reach for the evidence case, “Only cause you said please, y’know.” “Yeah, our bad Rantaro,” Kaito apologised, “Geez, I’m no good at thievery cases.”
“Don’t beat yourself up too much Kaito, you’re still one of the best detectives here,” Rantaro smiled, “They wouldn’t give this case to just anyone.” “Yeah, they gave it to Shuichi.” Kaito voiced the concern Rantaro had, “He’s our best detective, and he dropped the case, he dropped it!”
Kokichi looked up at this, “Well, our beloved Saihara is wanted a lot, y’know. They’ve probably sighed him over to a murder case or something boring.”
“I think he got my case,” Rantaro said, “Shouldn’t be too hard, it was pretty clear. He mainly needs to sort out the official stuff.”
“Oh, your murder one?” Kokichi lit up, “Y’know, I just finished a murder case too - want to know what the creepiest thing about it was?”
Kaito scoffed slightly, “No.”
“Awww, c’mon.” “Still no dude.”
“But it’s suuuuuper creepy,” Kokichi had spun his chair towards Kaito now, coming steadily closer, “C’mon!”
“Fine,” Rantaro broke the stalemate, “What was it, Kokichi?”
“My Rantaro cares about me!” Kokichi briefly stopped staring at Kaito to throw his boyfriend a grin, “Ok. The creepiest thing was the murder’s looks. He had a goatee!”
So used to it by now, Kaito didn’t even respond, instead flicking over the evidence and staring hard at it. Kokichi kept the eye-contact for a beat longer before also going back to his work, trying to figure out where the thief would strike next. The three worked in harmony for a while, only stopping to briefly check something with a team member or going to get something to eat. Kokichi had, rather impressively, avoided any coffee so far - although he was steadily eating an entire packet of sweets. Grape flavoured ones, of course. Rantaro still had yet to work out if his boyfriend actually liked them, or if he chose them because no-one else liked them. Both were equally as likely.
But as he pulled the case files over, Rantaro couldn’t help his mind wondering. First of all, his mind went to his boyfriend - sitting in front of him while carefully analysing his case-files, concentrating and writing rapidly, not even looking up in conversation. Then his mind went to the phantom thief, the one who was too good - potentially too good for Shuichi. The best detective here had given up the case, but why? Surely it couldn’t be because of difficulty, but if it wasn’t difficult… personal reasons? Who would he care enough about to lie for?
Eventually, Rantaro stood up - signalling everyone to stop. Kaito gave a relieved grimace as he rolled his shoulders, while Kokichi smiled as he stood up, graceful as ever. Swinging his arms slightly, Kokichi looked to Rantaro, throwing a case file his way, “Here you go, places our thief is likely to strike next. Can I get a thank you kiss?”
Kaito rolled his eyes slightly, “I’ll send you a summary of my work, you can kiss once I’ve gone.”
Watching as he left, Kokichi called after him, “You don’t want to stay and watch?”
Not bothering to dignify that with a response, Kaito continued to walk out; although Rantaro guiltily chuckled. Moving over to Kokichi, he wrapped his arms around him, “Am I meeting you tonight?”
“I wish,” Kokichi said, and Rantaro could feel his pout, “I already promised my night to something else.”
“Did you have to make it sound like that?”
“Sound like what?” Kokichi looked innocent, but his eyes were sparkling in enjoyment,”Nee-heehee, you have such a dirty mind Rantaro!”
“Sure,” Rantaro flicked Kokichi over the head, “Just don’t come home too late.” “Says you,” Kokichi looked at the schedule, “You’ve got duty today, watching one of our thief’s potential crime scenes.”
“My choice?”
“Yup! Which one are you hanging out in?”
“I’ll look over your file,” Rantaro picked it up, weighing it in his hands, “I love you!”
“Awww, love you too!”
Rantaro’s night didn’t end up being that interesting, all in all, he got home late - before immediately going to bed. Frowning slightly when he realised Kokichi wasn’t there yet, but not worried; sometimes his boyfriend would have late nights. He didn’t exactly control what was happening. Morning routines were also mainly the same as normal, Rantaro woke up slightly earlier than Kokichi and began making breakfast - laughing as his boyfriend trudged into the kitchen.
But there was something bright and fun in Kokichi’s eyes, and a hint of excitement as he hugged Rantrao before stealing the coffee. Kokichi was an intolerable coffee thief, made even worse by the fact he drank his coffee with excessive milk and sugar - just so no-one else would touch it. Although something in Rantaro admired the level of pettiness. Wriggling out of a hug Rantaro tried to trap him in, Kokichi sat down with a smile, “Good morning!”
“I’m glad to see you’re awake,” Rantaro said dryly, looking pointedly at the cup of coffee, “You could probably give the phantom thief a run for his money, y’know?”
“Ooooh, really?” Kokichi grinned, “I’m much better than him.”
“Obviously.” Rantaro said it quickly, but it was still genuine - an easy transition into the rest of their morning conversations.
The drive to work was easy enough, like it normally was, and overall pretty pleasant. As they were about to go through the door, Rantaro turned on his phone (he didn’t like to suddenly have notifications in the morning) and winced at the noise. Turning to Kokichi, he asked, “Hey, what did I miss?”
“Hm?” Kokichi looked up, and then his eyes lit up in understanding, “Oh - you mean the notifications? Our thief robbed a jewellery store, one of the faaancy ones.”
“Seriously?” Rantaro tried to run through the different locations Kokichi had given him, mentally thinking of which ones would cause a stir or which ones wouldn’t. “Tasaki?”
“Nope, Mikimoto.”
Containing the urge to swear under his breath, Rantaro instead swallowed before keeping walking, “Well, they have good security. I’m sure they’ll have captured something.”
Looking over the video evidence, they had found almost nothing. Only one camera had captured any of the events - a central one that seemed to be deliberately kept on. A figure dressed in formal white mens clothing, he even had a suit on, wore a mask as he stared at the camera and then bowed. The buttons on his suit were a darker purple, one that stood out but matched his hair - which was gelled completely upwards and sideways with spikes. An irony that Kokichi certainly didn’t fail to point out as he laughed at Kaito.
“So, the facial composite has been updated,” their chief finished saying, “And it’s Mikimoto that got broken into.”
“Mikimoto, seriously?” Kaito exclaimed, “Geez, this guy’s got balls.”
“Appropriate words in the workplace, Kaito,” Rantaro chided gently, before glaring as Kokichi immediately copied his words. “You too, ‘Kichi.”
“I’ll leave you to your work, we need to find them soon.”
This time, Kokichi waited until the person he was mocking was out of the room to mock him, “‘We need to find them soon’ - what else does he think you’ve been working on?”
“We’ve been working on,” Rantaro corrected, “I still think what we were doing works, so let’s keep the roles we were doing.”
“You got it, boss!” Kokichi put on slightly over-the-top enthusiasm, but as he sat cross-legged in the chair he certainly was dedicated. Doing mostly the same routine, the three worked together again - although it was slightly less silent than before. Ideas were thrown around this time, and Kokichi continued to find the phantom thief’s hair hilarious. Kokichi also developed a game where he would leave to get coffee/take something out of his secret sweet stash and put a picture of the culprit on Kaito’s hair - carefully balanced. It had been funny the first time and now, on the sixth try, it was still amusing.
The night began the same too, although now Rantaro was in a different location. Thankfully a second detective had been brought along with him - Kaito. Kokichi would’ve joined them, but he had another outing; it was fair enough as Kokichi had probably contributed the most to their dossier. He could always get inside the mind of the culprit, and it was honestly impressive. Just one more thing that made Rantaro more proud of his boyfriend. Smiling, he began to daydream before-
“Hey Rantaro, did you hear that?” Kaito’s whisper cut across them suddenly, his eyes wide in both nerves and determination.
“Hear what?” Rantaro asked sheepishly.
“There was a noise,” Kaito insisted, “Look - the camera’s are off!”
Following his gaze, Rantaro felt determination solidify. “You go to the jewellery room, I’ll go to the exit?”
“Sounds good!”
With surprisingly light footsteps, Kaito sped away to the main (and more expensive) rooms, while Rantaro began to go to the doors - moving quickly while also trying to be silent. Pausing between two doors, Rantaro tried to listen as he suddenly heard movement. Hushed voices, probably instructions. Taking one hand on his phone, to call for back-up, Rantaro pushed open the door, “Hands up!”
The figure was dressed in white, just like he had been in the security camera video. His hair was the same darker purple colour, almost midnight purple in the light, and down; hair swooping into spikes and wildly, yet attractively, tangled. His gloved hands were reaching for someone in the window, but jolted in fright and withdrew, his hand instead going to his pocket. Then, the hand stopped and the movement became more measured. Graceful, almost feline-like, the phantom thief stood up and took (thankfully empty) hands out of his pockets. Calling casually, almost cheerfully, he spoke to the people outside, “Don’t worry guys, meet you in a few hours?”
There must have been agreement because the masked figure turned around, but all Rantaro could focus on was that he recognized the voice. It was deeper than it normally was, but it was still unmistakably Kokichi’s.
His boyfriend, who was a detective, was also the now notorious phantom thief? They even had the same hair, the same height, the same build, the same stature. As he kept staring, Rantaro could only formulate the thoughts ‘why didn’t you figure it out sooner?’. Kokichi stayed moving lightly, rocking on the balls of his feet, “Soooo, you gonna tie me up and rough up my body, Mr. Detective?”
“I-” for some reason, that was the word that shocked Rantaro out of his slumber, “We’re in a relationship, d’you just make this offer for anyone?”
“I meannnn,” Kokichi’s acting was immaculate, even now, “Do you make an offer to date any criminal you meet?”
“I know it’s you, Kokichi.”
“Shit.”
Kokichi’s real voice had come through now, and Rantaro could imagine the pout as well as the slightly moving eyes, a symbol of his nervousness. Then his voice lost its act, and became more pleading, “‘Taro, I… I’m sorry.”
“Why are you even doing this?”
“Cause it’s fun obvi,” Kokichi responded, before quickly following up, “That was a lie. I’m helping a friend who needs money, quick. Not for anything nefarious!”
“‘Kichi, this is illegal…”
“I-” Kokichi looked away for a second, “C’mon, if the great Shuichi Saihara can’t figure this case out, can we reallllly do it?”
“We absolutely-” Rantaro reacted on instinct before he thought about what Kokichi was asking. And for some reason, love immediately won out. “No more heists.”
“No more heists.” Kokichi echoed, his smile immediately coming into his voice, “Now help me escape?”
Rantaro moved quickly, helping him out of the window, “No more heists!”

dammit….. kokichi’s worse nightmare being about rantaro.. I dont think people are doing what they should be doing with that information.
them in your au makes me physically ILL, i cant, they make me so sick. do you hav any fluffy/angsty headcanons about them i can consume- i mean read like a normal person? its fine if you dont btw!! I just want them to be happy, man…
Oh heh someone caught that little detail heh heh…. I wonder what exactly his nightmare was about? It is a mystery…
I can give you some stuff on them in the AU though!
I think the relationship came about completely accidentally, they were both focused on other things and Rantaro was pretty severely injured when they met, neither of them were thinking about even really being friends it all just sorta…. Happened.
Kokichi as a person is so… messy. That’s really the only good word for it. I think it’s a serious testament to Rantaro’s patience that he was able to take the time to break through to the Real Kokichi™️ at all.
But anyway, cute headcanon time:
They’ve definitely painted each other’s nails at least once. Rantaro had a lot of free time during recovery and he needed something to do heh heh. Kokichi’s nails looked perfect (though they didn’t last long at all) and when Kokichi tried to do Rantaro’s he got a little distracted and they ended up being smeared, but Rantaro still liked them a lot.
Kokichi kept Rantaro’s ring in his pocket because he was always afraid he’d accidentally melt it, he’d only ever wear it on occasions where he knew with 100% certainty that he wouldn’t have any reason for his power to get a little overactive. (So… anytime he was around Rantaro, because that avocado can calm him down just by being standing the same room as him now)
The actual conversation of them deciding they were on fact dating was probably unbearable tbh. It would be like an hour of Kokichi avoiding giving any concrete answer and Rantaro just… waiting for an actual response. He’s the most patient guy on the planet, he’ll wait an hour and half for Kokichi to finally work his way around to saying “yeah let’s do that- hold my hand now actually”
Kokichi is very obnoxious about giving affection, will climb up on Rantaro’s shoulders to kiss his cheek, very loudly announce that he’s about to kiss or hug him, hold his hand and swing it around so much it sort of looks like he might dislocate his own arm in the process- but he is a MESS when Rantaro’s the one to initiate romantic gestures first. Even if it’s something small like… Rantaro kissing his hand or something, Kokichi’s face goes red and he has to try and joke his way out of having an Actual Feeling or he’ll melt into a little puddle right then and there
Rantaro’s an older sibling- to many many younger ones- so he’s more used to helping out for others than having other people do things for him, Kokichi absolutely tries to rectify this as often as he can. He pays very close attention to everything from Rantaro’s favorite soda to which music style he prefers listening to on the radio and Kokichi will make sure Rantaro gets things he enjoys too. He also tries to stop Rantaro from always overexerting himself for other people but…. Well you see how that worked out.
And to end things on a sadder note, since I am feeling evil today: Rantaro forgetting him completely hurt Kokichi more than he’d ever want to admit. It sort of took this tentative new hopeful worldview he was developing and shattered it into a million pieces. He really just… can’t have good things. No matter what. Nothing ever works out okay. (But we’ll learn more about all that later in the fic, heh heh)

DR CHARACTERS AS HALF BLOODS!!!!
so the other day I was reading pjo, and when the book mentioned that Hermes was also the god of gamblers, my mind immediately went to Celestia Ludenberg, a danganronpa character who’s the ultimate GAMBLER. That got me thinking about other possibilities, and the result is this huge list of dr characters as half bloods!
THH
makoto - tyche (goddess of good luck and fortune)
kyoko - athena or ananke (goddess of inevitability, compulsion, and necessity)
byakuya - pluto (god of abundance or wealth)
toko - erato (muse of erotic and lyrical poetry)
hina - poseidon
hiro - apollo
celeste - hermes
hifumi - cadmus (god of writing)
leon - apollo (I think it’d just be funny for him to be a son of apollo cause he likes music lol)
mondo - ares
taka - themis (the titan goddess of divine law and order)
junko - thanatos (god of death) or in my personal opinion hermes (idk man she seems like such a hermes kid to me lmao)
mukuro - ares
sayaka - terpsichore (muse of dancing and chorus)
sakura - athena
chihiro - ares (one because it’d be so ironic for a character as timid as chihiro to be the son of the god of WAR. and also because of the fact that ares is also the god of courage, and chihiro had to be extremely courageous in order to overcome his fear of judgment and persevere to get stronger)
DR2
hajime - janus (roman god of beginnings and passages) also because of his ability to look to the future and izuru
chiaki - dionysus (addiction to games lol)
nagito - another son of tyche!!
fuyuhiko - hebe (goddess of youth) babyface is the only explanation needed
akane - hermes
sonia - naelea (goddess of knowledge and curiosity) this is due to her curiosity about japan and it’s culture, as well as her knowledge about serial killers
kazuichi - hephaestus
gundham - hades (would say artemis because she’s the goddess of wild animals but she’s a virgin goddess :( )
nekomaru - athena or ponos (greek god of hard labor or toil) because he works hard to train athletes and help their teams out
imposter - athena
teruteru - aphrodite (he loves people a lot is all i have to say about that)
peko - athena
mahiru - caerus (god of opportunity, luck, and favorable moments) because she takes photos of people’s best moments
hiyoko - apollo (he’s also the god of dance, along with his many other talents)
mikan - asclepius (god of medicine)
ibuki - apollo
V3
kaede - apollo
shuichi - athena or aletheia (greek goddess of truth)
maki - apollo or ares
himiko - hecate (goddess of magic)
tenko - a hunter of artemis (because it fits WAY too well) or ares
kaito - hermes
miu - hephaestus
gonta - artemis (if she wasn’t a virgin goddess) but the actual god would be pistis (greek god of good faith, trust, and reliability) because everyone trusted him and believed that he couldn’t have murdered someone
kokichi - hermes
korekiyo - athena (for his knowledge about anthropology)
tsumugi - athena
angie - apollo
kirumi - hestia (if she wasn’t a virgin goddess) but for the actual god, I’d choose eleos (goddess of mercy, clemency, compassion, and pity) because she does nothing but be helpful for her classmates
rantaro - hermes (god of travel = ultimate adventurer and that he “tricked” everyone into believing that he didn’t have any clue about how they got there)
ryoma - oizys (greek goddess of misery, anxiety, and depression) this one’s pretty self explanatory :(
kiibo - phanes (greek god of creation and life) because he was created to be a robot and he just wanted to live life

knife my shining star, long time no see!!
can i order a number 2, number 8 with kaede, and a number 12 for the danganronpa ask game? ☆
Heslo Lune! Nice to talk to u again! Thanks so much for giving me an excuse to ramble <33
2. Favorite character from each game
DR1 - Taka for sure, though a lot of the first cast is pretty special to me. Taka as a character is heavily relatable to me (it’s the autism and over achiever attitude) and in general he’s the character that drew the most emotion out of me during the first game. Not a lot makes me cry but I definitely got emotional at his reaction to Mondo’s execution.
DR2 - Kazuichi, I hold my special version of him so dearly. I haven’t played the 2nd game yet but I’ve seen a lot of clips and he can be… a lot, but I also find him rlly relatable (again, he’s autistic and traumatized, I have a type). I also rlly like his design, DR is kinda known for it’s out there designs (just look at Ibuki) but I think Kaz’s rlly works, especially considering the context behind why he dresses that way. *Points* look at all that insecurity and trust issues, how could I not love him?
DRV3 - Kokichi, who is also my favorite DR character in general, as I am a basic bitch. He is my meow meow who is soooooo fucked up. He cares so much abt others and helping them but he’s also paranoid and distrustful and a compulsive liar and he doesn’t want anyone around in case he gets hurt but also he’s desperately lonely and *gestures* look at all this trauma and autism!!!! He is a creature!!! Look at this clown!!! The hanger consumes my every thought now.
8. What did I think of Kaede’s death/execution?
Keeping in mind I haven’t played the 3rd game and have only seen a number of clips as of rn, Kaede’s execution is pretty horrific to me. For one, it’s completely unfair since she didn’t actually kill Rantaro. Two, hanging is one of the most painful ways I can think of to die. It’s slow, it’s asphyxiation which means ur lungs are basically burning for oxygen, and she’s being swung around which is just agitating the wound. It’s also sad to me because I really wish Kaede was the true protagonist. We haven’t had a female protagonist yet (apart from Komaru) and Kaede is a truly interesting character. Not that I despise Shuichi exactly but Kaede is just better to me. I really wish Rantaro and her both could have gotten farther so that we could’ve gotten to know them better.
12. How I think character A would get along/interact with character B? (talking about characters from different games)
You didn’t give any characters for this so I’ll just talk abt the cross-game dynamic I find most interesting!
Kokichi, Fuyuhiko, and Mondo I think would be a fascinating group. Considering all three of them are leaders of (vaguely in Kokichi’s case) illegal groups but all have drastically different ways of leading I think there’s a lot they could learn from one another. The way they came into leadership is interesting too, since Mondo gained it from his brother and has guilt abt it, Fuyuhiko was born into it but seemingly doesn’t truly want to be a part of it, and Kokichi is a leader by choice who (seemingly) brought his group together by himself. Fuyuhiko and Mondo are fairly similar in temperament too, and we know from the side games that they’d get along fairly well. Kokichi’s just a fun wildcard who I think would both annoy the hell out of them while also startling them with his intellect and leadership skills.

Robot Rights.
Tumblr media
How’s that coming along?
Tumblr media
Pretty good thanks. I doubt I’m gonna work out all the kinks but thanks for letting me use your workbench.
Tumblr media
Just make sure you clean up after yourself and don’t touch any of my flowers, alright?
Tumblr media
I won’t, I promise.
*Rantaro sits at Oliver’s workbench, fiddling with the symmetra matrix earring.
Tumblr media
Oh. Morning.
Tumblr media
...?
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
...
*As Oliver goes back upstairs, he passes by and greets Shuichi, Kaede and Mii-Yu, who come downstairs.
Tumblr media
Ah...So now’s the time, eh?
Tumblr media
Hello to you to Rantaro.
Tumblr media
Haha...Sorry, that was pretty rude, huh? Hello to you too Shuichi. Kaede...Mii-Yu.
Tumblr media
Oh look at that, he knows her name.
Tumblr media
Kaede, don’t be sour. I think we’ve caused Rantaro enough trouble.
Tumblr media
Agreed. If we wish to ask questions, then we must be more humble.
Tumblr media
It’s ok. I was rude first. I just somehow knew that as soon as things died down, you’d want to come by and asking me questions about what I’d been up to.
Tumblr media
We don’t have as many questions as you might think. Could you spare a few minutes.
Tumblr media
Sure, but...if you don’t mind, I’m gonna keep working on this while we talk.
Tumblr media
Fine.
Tumblr media
*Shuichi and Kaede ask Rantaro multiple questions about his whereabouts and happenings during his absence.
Tumblr media
So let me recap then. You woke up around the same time as the rest of us did, and you were found and rescued by ERR0RM3SS4GE?
Tumblr media
Basically. As you know, ERR0RM3SS4GE recently collaborated with Uchui Kamukura. We’ve actually been in league with him for a while, until recently that is.
Tumblr media
So the mission to get him to Zetsubou was your last job?
Tumblr media
Zetsubou our our enemies, but Uchui has been a friend for a while. We couldn’t refuse one last job from him after all he’d done for us.
Tumblr media
But the point is the labs that we were contained in were property of Uchui’s family legacy. They were originally created for storing test subjects for the Kamukura’s sick experiments, but Uchui put them to good use containing us. At least, until he figured out what to do with us.
Tumblr media
But then Tsumugi and Organization Zetsubou found us, right?
Tumblr media
Unfortunately yes. As soon as Tsumugi took over the labs, ERR0RM3SS4GE and Uchui made a risky move. They deactivated the pods and let us escape, scattering us around the world. With the exception of Himiko, Maki and you, Shuichi.
Tumblr media
According to my historical database, Tsumugi Shirogane was able to capture Kaito, Angie and Gonta before all three were freed from captivity or control.
Tumblr media
Miu, Tenko and Kirumi went into hiding, Ryoma wound up in Towa City and joined Akeru’s warrior pack, and Kokichi was funded by Zetsubou to stay out of trouble following his escape, in which he concocted a plan to destroy them involving Keebo, who he had salvaged.
Tumblr media
Additionally, Kaede lost her memories after her escape, and was taken in by Chinami Hasami. And lastly...you Rantaro, joined ERR0RM3SS4GE.
Tumblr media
How come you were the only one that was invited to join?
Tumblr media
My skills interested them. This isn’t the first time I’ve done a good bit of programming, hacking and scouting, you know?
Tumblr media
Also, I kind of insisted on it. With Zetsubou becoming a rising problem in recent years, I wanted to do my bit to prevent being caught in a THIRD killing game.
Tumblr media
I understand that, but why not join Future Foundation with us?
Tumblr media
It’d cause too much confusion if I just showed up out of nowhere. Plus, I had already met the team, so I would have been sworn to secrecy anyway.
Tumblr media
Fair enough.
Tumblr media
Is that all the questions you have for now?
Tumblr media
Well...I’ve learned what you know about our circumstances, so assuming you’re not lying. I guess I just have one more thing to ask.
Tumblr media
Kiyo is still missing. We haven’t been able to locate him since the beginning of all this. Do you know where we can find him?
Tumblr media
Regrettably no. Kiyo vanished into thin air after ERR0RM3SS4GE deactivated the labs. He could be dead or captured by Zetsubou for all we know. However, I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
Tumblr media
How come?
Tumblr media
If Kiyo was captured by Zetsubou, Shirogane would no doubt have utilized him against us already. Plus, if he was out causing trouble and murdering people again, don’t you think we would have seen something on the news? There haven’t been any serial killer situations lately that follow his pattern.
Tumblr media
Right, I know what you mean...
Tumblr media
I have one more thing to ask. It’s not really important, but I need to know it.
Tumblr media
Yeah? What’s that?
Tumblr media
...I need to know your relationship with Mii-Yu.
Tumblr media
Kaede...!?
Tumblr media
I wasn’t there to witness it, but Shuichi told me the story. In the factory, you were able to brainwash Mii-Yu using something called an admin code. But after Mii-Yu attacked the Tower, Mona and Miu removed her antennae to prevent her from being brainwashed.
Tumblr media
So how did you pull that off? How did you know what the admin code was, and how were you able to activate it? You must have had some prior interaction with Mii-Yu in order to know that would work, or some robot like it.
Tumblr media
I suppose the excuse that I’m privy to these sorts of things doesn’t work here, huh?
Tumblr media
Nope!
Tumblr media
Fine...Although, all things considered, the actual answer is a lot simpler than you might think.
Tumblr media
And that is?
*Rantaro stops working on the Symmetra, stands up and looks at them.
Tumblr media
I’m the one who made it~
Tumblr media
...!
Tumblr media
...!
Tumblr media
...!
Tumblr media
WHAT!?
Tumblr media
Yep, that’s about the reaction I expected.
Tumblr media
You...are...
Tumblr media
UUGH!
Tumblr media
Mii-Yu!
Tumblr media
Uh oh. Looks like she’s having sensory overload.
Tumblr media
I...I just remembered...
*Mii-Yu clutches her head, but stands up straight again with Kaede’s support.
Tumblr media
As soon as I lay eyes upon you, something did not feel right in my internal mechanism and memory database.
Tumblr media
Now that you have said that though, I feel like I have gained the missing piece of apparatus and...
Tumblr media
You remember? Heh...It’s like going into the recycle bin of a laptop and hitting restore, right?
Tumblr media
Are you serious!? You’re telling me YOU’RE Mii-Yu’s CREATOR!?
Tumblr media
To be more specific, I’m her PROGRAMMER. I wrote the code, AI, memory banks and...well...Everything that makes Mii-Yu, Mii-Yu.
Tumblr media
I DIDN’T build her body. She was a collaborative work between me and an old friend.
Tumblr media
An old friend?
Tumblr media
Susuru Kojima, the Ultimate Engineer. A fellow participant in the 52nd Killing Game. That was when Mii-Yu was created.
Tumblr media
But...wait...Tsumugi said that Mii-Yu was the prototype version of Keebo! And they ended up going with him for V3!
Tumblr media
Mii-Yu ended up being a more popular addition to the series than Team DR expected, so they decided to allow Tsumugi to continue with the robot trend with V3. At least, that’s how I think of it.
Tumblr media
...How could you...?
Tumblr media
How could I what?
*Kaede puts her foot down angrily.
Tumblr media
If you’re Mii-Yu’s creator, how could you treat her like that!? Brainwashing her, making her fight her friends, dehumanizing her!? What’s wrong with you!?
Tumblr media
Dehumanizing her? She’s not a human Kaede. I don’t know if that’s even possible.
Tumblr media
No, I’m with Kaede on this. You’re being way too harsh to her, talking down to her as if her feelings don’t matter!
Tumblr media
It’s a line of code Shuichi, not real feelings! It DOESN’T matter!
Tumblr media
...Stop it!
*Everyone looks towards Mii-Yu.
Tumblr media
I refuse to let you all argue, right in front of me, over whether or not my life and feelings are worth considering.
Tumblr media
To be honest...I do somewhat agree with Rantaro. Even if I am a humanoid robot, my feelings will never be more than that of an analytic computer. I’m not the same as BeeZero, who is programmed to live and learn as a human does.
Tumblr media
I was made to serve a purpose...not that I remember what that purpose was.
Tumblr media
Well, now’s a good time to ask.
Tumblr media
But now’s NOT a good time to tell.
Tumblr media
Why not!? Don’t you think you owe her an answer!?
Tumblr media
I said ENOUGH!
Tumblr media
...!?
Tumblr media
...!?
Tumblr media
Allow me to make my stance clear here, Rantaro Amami.
Tumblr media
I...am grateful. Obscenely grateful, that you created me. However, if I may be honest for a moment...
Tumblr media
I have been looking all this time to find out what purpose I was built for...but now that I stand in front of you...I don’t care anymore.
Tumblr media
Oh?
Tumblr media
It doesn’t matter if I was just a test, or a prototype, or an experiment, or if I was used for a more personal, malicious or selfish purpose.
Tumblr media
You gave me a life. And I intend to live that life. The way that I want.
Tumblr media
How’s THAT for a line of code?
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Hehe...You’ve surprised me. Miu and Keebo’s straightforwardness is really rubbing off on you.
Tumblr media
Many will say they do not make for good role models. I disagree.
Tumblr media
Still...I do admit I feel guilty. No matter how I feel about the situation, I’ve clearly upset you all.
Tumblr media
And I shouldn’t have mistreated you the way that I did. Just looking at you reminds me of a time I would rather forget. Even I have issues, and I have a fair few of them.
*Rantaro turns around and reaches for a small box and takes something out of it.
Tumblr media
Mind coming closer for a second? I’m not gonna hurt you, I promise.
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
It’s ok. I have faith in him.
*Mii-Yu approaches Rantaro, who takes the item and fastens it to Mii-Yu’s head.
Tumblr media
That’s...
Tumblr media
This is...
Tumblr media
Believe me, I’m doing this for more than just an apology. If we’re working together against Zetsubou, I’m gonna need you all to trust me. Observe...
Tumblr media
“Admin Input- Voice Authentication. Code: 1003XX.”
Tumblr media
...!
Tumblr media
Mii-Yu!?
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
I am fine.
Tumblr media
See? This antennae prevents the admin code or any other sort of control form working on you. Consider it my thank you card.
Tumblr media
Now, if that’s everything, I’ll get back to work.
Tumblr media
That should be it. Fine, we’ll leave. Thanks for answering my questions.
Tumblr media
Thank you Rantaro.
Tumblr media
Sure...
*Shuichi turns around to leave; Mii-Yu bows and follows. Kaede however, pauses for a moment.
Tumblr media
Something wrong?
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
I’m willing to work with you if it means we can save Maki and Himiko and stop Tsumugi and Zetsubou...
Tumblr media
But I don’t trust you...What are you hiding from us Rantaro?
Tumblr media
...You’re a detective assistant, aren’t you? Figure it out...
Tumblr media
...!
*Kaede scoffs and leaves.

THE ASK MEME AGAIN what about...... miu kaito and himiko?
it's been an ENTIRE YEAR since the first time we did this. h o w.
MIU
Sexuality Headcanon: not the slutty bisexual rep we wanted, but the slutty bisexual rep we needed.
Gender Headcanon: i firmly see her as a trans woman because she's going to make jokes about her genitals and i find dick jokes funnier than vagina jokes. yes, that is the entire basis of this headcanon.
A ship I have with said character: her and kiibo are bland for my taste but still sweet. her and kaito are fun also (what if we were both soo smart and also sooo stupid...and we're both trans😳!?). honestly i don't ship her with a lot of people in the cast? i should make up an oc for her to date. hm.
A BROTP I have with said character: her and kokichi are great, and not just because they're funny! it's fascinating to think of how long they were cooperating behind the scenes. sometimes i get really mad at miu because kokichi (presumably under the cover of the first electrobomb) TOLD her his plan, he tried so hard to work together, and she rejected him, tried to beat him to death, and sent everything spiraling off the rails for the rest of the game!! but then i have to reel myself back in and remember that she was just as paranoid as kokichi, that she didn't go with the plan because she was terrified "someone" (probably kokichi imo) would betray and kill her, and Not Everyone Mean To Your Blorbo Has To Explode, Mem. miu tried her best. it just wasn't enough. that can be said for 99% of the v3 kids.
A NOTP I have with said character: YOU GOT ME TO RANT ABOUT IRUMATSU LAST TIME YOU'RE NOT GETTING IT AGAIN. i will say i dislike sairuma though, but mostly because i think shuichi hating her ass is the funniest way for that relationship to go.
A random headcanon: i know it gets lost in the whole "haha funny she thinks she's a cyborg, aren't tsumugi's backstories so fucking stupid" thing, but i think she *did* get a traumatic brain injury in that car accident that eroded her impulse control and sense of boundaries and that's a large part of why she behaves the way she does. does that count as a headcanon or is that just extrapolating from canon. hm.
General Opinion over said character: every day i think about kodaka designing her to be a deliberately unlikable character who everyone would hate, and then getting super shocked and mad at the popularity polls showing she's rlly popular. GET FUCKED NERD
KAITO
Sexuality Headcanon: either aro or gay. headcanoning him as not attracted to women is the only way i can get any enjoyment out of the clusterfuck that is the harumota plotline, because at least it makes the scene where maki confesses and he says "...good for you, off to die now!" extremely funny.
Gender Headcanon: a bro. a broski. a brotato chip. a brotein shake. a brofessor. a member of the broman empire.
A ship I have with said character: i've grown fond of oumota if only bc those fics tend to have really good kokichi characterization. him n gonta are the embodiment of the "i lied, i don't actually like sex, now put your pants back on and let me infodump for three hours" meme and i love that for them. but most of all i like the idea of him and rantaro in a qpr postgame. i think those two would get a lot from just...existing quietly in each other's space, slowing becoming the center of the other's life. i should write a fic about that...
A BROTP I have with said character: him and shuichi are sooo unhealthy and that's what makes them so interesting to me. i think about them postgame a lot...about shuichi trying to support kaito the way he was supported, and about kaito fighting against it. it's hard not to slip into old patterns, but i think they could do it.
also i think about "i don't care if you're sick! i don't care if you're dying! i won't let monokuma touch you!" EVERY GODDAMN DAY
A NOTP I have with said character: him and maki. i can’t even rant about them like i do with my other NOTPs. they just make me...tired.
A random headcanon: he never gels his hair again after the game. i’ve said it before but i really think he should’ve been more messed up when he came out of the exisal - no gel, no coat (where did he even get the second one??), covered in blood, etc. and i think after that, when he wakes up, he can’t bring himself to gel it again. he buys the supplies and goes into his bathroom and just Stares into the mirror. he can’t make himself do it. he leaves.
General Opinion over said character: ehhh...mixed. he’s a very good and complex character but he’s also a raging homophobe in the og japanese, yknow? it’s difficult for me to have super positive feelings on a character who calls people homophobic slurs and is treated as right for doing so by the narrative, no matter how deep and complex they are and how many cute gay headcanons i have. maybe that’s more of a flaw with v3 than a flaw with kaito, though.
HIMIKO
Sexuality Headcanon: she engages in lesbianics
Gender Headcanon: none beef with left girl.
A ship I have with said character: WAH i already talked a bunch about tenmiko in the tenko post,,,i think himikiyo’s surprisingly cute! it’s not a ship i considered before i found it but ao3 user platonics has gotten to me what can i say...
A BROTP I have with said character: the survivor trio makes me very soft,,,they deserve a very long nap together under the softest warmest blankets mankind can acquire. i have a pin of the scene of gonta giving her a piggy back ride because i am not immune to the ancient fandom dynamic of Tol and Smol. i enjoy thinking about the tension she’d have with angie postgame, even if that doesn’t quite count as a friendship. and platonic oumeno is always 👌, their scenes in ch3 are so good.
A NOTP I have with said character: uhh i dunno...maybe her and rantaro? he seems like he’d peg her as a little sister pretty fast.
A random headcanon: nobody ever talks about it but i feel like her master was probably?? not great??? i mean he abandons the child he’s been teaching because she gets more popular than him, what the hell.
General Opinion over said character: i love her so mucjh,,,,she was the most relatable character in v3 to me. her relating everything that happens to her through the lens of her childish interests punched me right in the gut :’). her *choosing* to combat her natural fatigue and depression in order to live a better life because she won’t get another chance was so moving. wish she had a better outfit tho.

Note
Don’t mind me rambling on to you about something that Isnt the intertwined arts of leadership and deception, I just think you’d have good insight on this:
I wholeheartedly believe if rantaro wasn’t killed off so early he would have been the antag, Like??? “Don’t worry! I’m not a bad guy!” Immediately after introducing himself.
I think if you have to say you’re not bad and justify that you’re not bad, you MIGHT BE BAD
Not to mention he’s the ultimate survivor and he survived we don’t know how many games. That shit would’ve came up and he would’ve caused a lot of problems, on purpose or not. What if he just?? Embraced that role and became a goddamn menace to everyone??
We quite literally do not know shit about his personality because he got killed off early. He could’ve been so horrible. Honestly he had so much potential to be the actual goddamn threat
Like?? Everyone would be so worried about Kokichi kinda fucking everything up. And then in comes rantaro. Who ACTUALLY fucks everything up and everyone is like “oh shit forgot about him uh oh”
not at all!! my ask box is always open for anything, not just tialod, though you will notice that my ability to answer in a timely matter isn't always very good (sorry about that!!)
ooo amami as the antag is a very interesting thought! You're right, he was definitely set up to be an antag and he would have made an interesting one, because there are so many possibilities with him and his situation.
A lot of it hinges on how much he actually remembers from the beginning, though. Since his message to himself mentions his talent and the fact he was in a previous killing game, and since that was in his Ultimate Lab that was only made available in Chapter 5, I do genuinely believe he had no idea about his talent or specific circumstance in the short span he was alive in canon. All he knew was he had a perk that nobody else had, and he probably connected some dots with that that made him act shifty as hell, but it could also be used to end the killing game. Things he mentioned that made it seem like he knew more - like the Ultimate Hunt - were just mentioned in the Survivor's Perk.
A lot of his advantage is based in one specific situation happening that didn't even work out in canon for him, and the concrete knowledge that the mastermind is in the academy. Admittedly, knowing there is a definite mastermind could definitely spur him into being a threat past Chapter 1, growing more desperate to find them and put an end to this, but I don't think his talent and association to the previous game could actually come into play until he discovered his lab in Chapter 5, which personally takes away a lot of the fun of Amami specifically as an antag.
For the sake of fun, though, let's say Amami remembers everything in terms of being the Ultimate Survivor and the previous killing game, but in a fuzzy enough way that it can coincide with the Flashback Lights - maybe he later assumes it took place during the Ultimate Hunt, and that he was recovered by the Gopher Project and got a new title for being the only one to actually escape the Hunt's clutches, whatever. He lies to the others about forgetting his talent because that's obviously not information you just freely give out. That would give him some fun possibilities in terms of motives for being a menace!
From the way I see his character in canon, I can't imagine he would actively enjoy causing problems. He gives the impression of a mediator to me, someone who prefers to keep things civil and work things out somewhat diplomatically - which probably comes from having so many sisters, to be fair. But he's also very cold when it comes to the topic of the killing game, collected and full of ominous warnings, and that would go tenfold if he actually remembered the previous killing game. He may not enjoy it, but he definitely would do it, if he thought it was for the best. It might be fun to lean into a whole 'I know best' mentality with him, actually, playing around with his big brother complex too, reflecting the more classmates lost to him losing his sisters, on top of the inevitable self-importance that comes with knowing more than anyone else.
Perhaps he thinks the mastermind of his first game is the same as this one. That would make him more eager to expose them, to end the game - to avenge his previous classmates. He can't remember who the previous mastermind was but he knows there was one. Perhaps he's willing to gamble as long as a majority survives. After all, anything is better than one, right? Or perhaps he has to prioritise ending the killing game because of his own paranoia - what if it continues and continues and continues? If they can make one killing game, two, what's stopping them from going on?
Sixteen, thirty-one, is nothing in comparison to infinity.
Motives and general Amami character analysis aside, I do think the idea of his dynamic with Ouma in this situation would be particularly interesting. Because yeah, everyone would definitely be more concerned about whatever overt off-the-walls bullshit Ouma is doing than mild, vaguely ominous but helpful Amami in the corner. It leaves Ouma to be a very convenient and easy scapegoat for anything Amami does, and Amami is smart enough not to make himself obvious about things. He doesn't want to draw the mastermind's attention any more than he does by simply existing in this killing game.
And it's strange, because while I can see Ouma playing along on the principle of it helping further along his own plans anyway, I also can't see him being very happy at being used as a pawn. He's very suspicious of Amami and his behaviour anyway, but being accused of things out of his own hands kind of pisses him off, because he expects things to go a certain way. Amami is sort of like an unknown variable to that. I could imagine a sort of implicit, passive aggressive rivalry going on between them.
The reveal that Amami is more involved in anything than the others thought would be very delicious though!! He can't hide all his actions, and the further the game goes, the more cold and serious he becomes, driven by the fear of being unable to end this game before he winds up the sole survivor again. It becomes obvious that he's pulling shit, and it's like uncovering a threat that was always laying dormant - suddenly the class is left scrambling to accept that Amami isn't nearly as innocent as they thought he was.
All that said, I would like to make an argument that Amami is already an antag, technically.
Amami is Akamatsu's antag.
They're very similar, and also very different. They both show an ability to lead and a level of determination, and both are trying to keep everyone happy and together - mediators. But Akamatsu is emotional, passionate, warm and hopeful with a tendency to lash out where Amami is cooler, calculative, composed, more focused. Akamatsu is flying by the seat of her pants while Amami has an actual plan, has experience.
Obviously, they were only alive for one chapter so it might just be because they had to squeeze all the character interactions in before they died, but it really does feel like, in Chapter 1, in Akamatsu's POV, Amami gets more of the spooky future antag focus. He gets the ominous quips, he gets the visible concern - at one point, Akamatsu mentions that something Amami had said really affected her, placing emphasis on it.
In contrast to how Ouma is treated in this chapter before the trial, Akamatsu seems to write off a lot of his behavioural quirks as being childish, or not taking things seriously. A lot of their conversations boil down to his whole liar-liar schtick, and from what I can remember, Akamatsu herself never really singles him out in commentary. He definitely still stirs shit, but mostly he's just annoying, and there isn't too much emphasis on it. It's not treated like a threat, really. Not in comparison with Amami.
Because to Akamatsu, Ouma can be written off as lying, as running his mouth, as playing around. Amami is serious, and he knows something.
Amami is Akamatsu's antagonist.
Plus, narratively, it makes a lot of sense to me if they got rid of a protag-antag pair in one trial. It's like wiping the slate clean and letting the new pair step into the spotlight.
We never see Amami through Saihara's eyes in canon. But we see him take Ouma seriously, and that's when he becomes a recognised threat.
Basically - yeah, I agree with you. Amami definitely could've been the antag if he survived, and now I'm really itching to write a one-shot.
It would be a fun AU, to explore a canon divergence where Saihara and Ouma die in the first trial instead, leaving Akamatsu as the protag and Amami as the antag. At first, nothing can ever be fully linked to him, it's all coincidences, until it can't be any more. And Akamatsu is frustrated because he knows things, it's so obvious, but it's confusing to talk to him because he acts so amiable about it. It feels wrong to get mad at him like that.

I want to rewrite the third game SOOO BAD but there’s so much I would change that it’s hard to keep track of it in my brain
I GUESS I’ll start by which talents I would change, incoherent ramblings below
Rantaro is the Ultimate Lucky Student. this change would literally not impact his backstory at all but it WOULD support my theory that there’s a lucky student in every grade and it bothers me that v3 breaks the rule of three wsgjsk. he survives all his dangerous adventures because he’s got luck on his side! AND HE’S GREEN!!
Kokichi is the Ultimate Trickster. also thought about Thief or Delinquent but I think this is more fun. he SAYS he’s the ultimate supreme leader and governs a huge evil society but we all know how DICE actually is. he is the king of shoplifting and disturbing the peace and other such petty crimes. I just think the whole “Supreme Leader” thing never fit him at all other than a blatant lie and he should have an actual ultimate, AND people lying about their ultimates is obviously not uncommon
Tenko is the Ultimate Ballerina. OKAY STAY WITH ME ON THIS ONE- we’ve got a lot of musicians, a lot of artists, a lot of athletes, but what we don’t have a lot of is ultimate dancers!! In fact I think Hiyoko is the only dancer in the entire series, and we’ve already got a martial artist with Sakura. I know ballet is more of a western thing but it does exist in Japan, and takes just as much work and discipline as martial arts does. it fits Tenko’s backstory with minimal changes: she had too much energy and anger as a kid so her parents sent her off to a prestigious school. there, she learns to channel her energy into something extremely physically demanding but also personally fulfilling- dance! ALSO she can still be scrappy and aggressive even without martial arts, and something like a strict all-girls ballet school would explain her learned disdain for boys
Shuichi is the Ultimate Forensic Scientist. I’ve always hated how he has the exact same ultimate as Kyoko I just think it’s dumb and uncreative (yes even with the ending twist). him being a forensic scientist would also explain his low self confidence in both interacting with people and solving crimes. as a scientist he would mostly collect data and analyze chemicals and DNA and such and then pass it on to the detectives, and never really interact with criminals or witnesses unless he was called on in court afterwards. this would ALSO explain his lab a little better, as there’s various equipment and poisons, which a forensic scientist would use and analyze!
honorable mention to Angie, who I was going to change to Ultimate Sculptor but realized a lot of ultimates are just as vague/broad as artist so I left that one alone, and K1B0 who I was going to change to Ultimate AI but robot works just as well I suppose
