thinking about omega Steve doing that tiktok trend where mums who are breastfeeding show their baby their boobs and the babies always get so giddy and so he walks into the living room and lifts his shirt up but their baby is sat on Eddie's chest and all the tiktok comments are just people laughing about how Eddie and the baby have the exact same expression

Wrong Number 1
Eddie kept up a texting chain with Steve while making himself a breakfast of coffee and cereal. He hadn't felt like this in a long time. Not since, well, when he thought of it when he was a teenager up all night in chat rooms and forums. When you found someone who you just clicked with.
[11:30] Any advice on how to fry an egg with a perfectly runny yolk?
(11:32) You like runny yolks??? 🤢 (11:33) It's scrambled or nothing for me (11:33) Cant help ya even if I wanted to
[11:35] I just want an egg on my avo toast
Normally Robin fried the eggs for breakfast. Her yolks were always perfect. But unlike Steve, she'd actually scored last night and was still with whoever she'd gone home with last night.
Eddie couldn't help but roll his eyes at the cliche. A guy who jogged and then came back home for some avocado toast with an egg on top? He just had to let his stance be known.
(11:35) Next ur gonna tell me bout your acai smoothie bowl rite? (11:36) Avo toast? Really???
Steve realized how he was coming off and had to quickly amend it.
[11:38] It's not what you think! We only got the avocados to make some guac the other day. There was one left and I wanted to use it before it went bad. And I'm all guac'd out. Hence the toast.
(11:39) At least you didn't use the avocado to make like ice cream or some shit
Finished with his own, normal, regular, average citizen breakfast, Eddie cleared his place and started to actually get ready for the day. His shift went from 2 to 10 tonight, so he needed to prepare for the long haul.
While brushing his teeth, getting dressed, and making something for his lunch later, he and Steve kept up the texts. Through their conversation he found out Steve's favorite ice cream (peanut butter), that he could cook eggs just about any way except sunny side up, and that he lived with a roommate named Robin.
Eddie got to his place of work and in a place like that you need to have some semblance of focus and attention, so he told Steve he had to get to work. He realized he was basically saying 'busy now, text you later?' to a stranger he'd only started talking to last night. Steve was completely in his rights to end the conversation there.
He could've ended it at any time really. What obligation did he have to keep on talking to him?
[2:01] Okay. Talk to you later
Steve stared at the message, already in the middle of agonizing over it when Robin finally came through the door of their apartment.
"Good afternoon. I wanna feel offended that I didn't get any texts or calls asking if I'm okay but I'm gonna choose to think it means you trust me and are a great judge of character."
For the first time in a while, Steve checked the time and actually realized how long it had been.
"Shit, Robs, I'm sorry." It had been over 12 hours and he hadn't checked in on her. All because he'd been texting a random number. "So you had a good time?"
Steve had been sitting on the couch and Robin plopped right down, laying her head in his lap.
"It was magical. Like something out of a movie."
"Aren't you glad I made you go and talk to her?", Steve smiled smug.
Robin smushed his face with her hands with a groan. "Don't look at me like that. You were right, okay? Me and her hit it off like, like uh, one of your sports metaphors."
"Robin you were in a soccer league just last year, stop acting like you don't know sports."
"Anyway, something grand must've kept your attention off me. Things go well with that girl you were talking to?"
"Umm, yeah."
Robin sat up, eyes narrowing. "And you came back here with her? Gross! Steve! Did you do it on the couch?!" She shot up immediately.
"I didn't", Steve rolled his eyes.
It was one of their main rules. No sex in the common areas of the apartment. Steve wasn't gonna tell her about the wrong number given to him. And he especially wasn't going to tell her he kept talking to it. The following lecture would have been unbearable.
"She gave me her number and we've just been texting back and forth."
Robin slowly sat back down on the couch. "Just texting? That's all you did?"
"That's all."
"Wow. You usually move faster than that."
"Well, I want something a little more this time. But enough about my snail pace romance. Let's talk about you and that girl, what was her name?"
He and Robin sat a long while, talking about her night, eventually going out for lunch together too. Not-Misty had said they were at work, but Steve couldn't help himself when he saw that Robin had ordered a burger with avocado on it and Steve had gotten a taco salad that came with, you guessed it, avocado.
[3:14] image.jpeg [314] Okay me and Robin might have a problem. But I swear it's not on purpose!
"Did you just send a picture of our lunch to someone?", Robin asked.
"Yeah to uh, to Misty. We were talking about avocados earlier and I figured she'd get a kick out of it."
Robin smiled through her chewing. She teased but she was glad that her friend had made a connection last night.
Meanwhile, Eddie saw the message, but didn't have a chance to reply, even on his lunch break. Through all the texting, he had forgotten to charge his phone, so it was on the plug and he was leaving it alone for now while he talked to his co-worker, Grant. He went through the rest of his shift, thinking about Steve.
What did he look like? How old was he? Where did he live?
He got off and made his way back home, stopping off somewhere to get dinner. It was a sandwich shop and he honestly contemplated getting avocado on his just to see Steve's reaction but he resisted.
'I can't be that down bad that I'm overthinking food now', he thought to himself.
When he got back home, he turned the tv on and took out his phone to reply to Steve right away.
(10:31) Back at home now (10:32) Work was crazy (10:34) And the 1st step to recovery is admitting u have a problem (10:36) But thru hard work we can get you addicted to a sensible veggie (10:37) Like broccoli
He thought since he kept Steve waiting for so long it might take some time for a reply to come, but his phone pinged almost immediately.
[10:39] First of all, avocado is a fruit. Second, I eat plenty of other vegetables. And third, what happened at work?
(10:41) It may be a fruit but I dont want it in my smoothie (10:42) And some guy came in and started throwing axes at the wall
Sunday evenings were usually more relaxed. It was why Eddie typically didn't work Friday or Saturday nights unless he needed some extra cash or they needed someone on deck.
[10:44] Hold the duck up someone was throwing axes!! [10:44] *duck [10:45] *FUCK
Eddie snickered through his eating and had to take a moment to swallow before something came up. He always enjoyed telling people what he did for a living.
(10:46) Cool your jets man (10:47) I work at an axe throwing range (10:48) The problem with this dude was he didn't have an appointment (10:48) Just came in and started throwing an axe at the wall
[10:50] Are you okay? That sounds dangerous
(10:50) My uncle handled it (10:51) Eventually the dude left
[10:52] Oh wow. Well I'm glad you're okay. Axe throwing tho. What an interesting job for someone of your age? 🤷
Steve was lying in bed and he buried his face into his pillow as he sent it with the shrug emoji. It was so transparent, he knew it. But he needed to have a better idea of who he was talking to. That way when Robin did eventually find out, he'd be able to tell her something, anything.
(10:53) Smooth (10:53) I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours
Eddie knew now was the time to be cautious. But he was also curious as to how much Steve would tell him and just what he wanted to know. He wasn't disappointed.
[10:54] Male, 23, 5'11
It was like the bare minimum of information and yet Eddie was already aggressively tamping down any hope that he might have a chance. Without his permission, hope bubbled up anyway
(10:55) Male, 24 going on 25, also 5'11
Steve stared at the text with the mystery person, mystery man's information. It seemed like so little and yet so much. He still hadn't an idea of what he looked like. But now he could at least get a general silhouette.
(10:56) Ur not one of those guys who lies about his height are you?
[10:57] Robin says my hair gives me two inches but she has no idea what she's talking about.
Eddie was thinking about how Steve must wear his hair. It could be in a sizeable pompadour, or maybe a nice afro. Maybe it was in a bun all the time? That was not what he typed out however.
(10:59) You know what they say (10:59) It's not the size but what u do with it
Okay this was it. This was where Steve stopped texting him. You can't just say that to guys you don't know-ping!
Eddie bit his lip and only had one eye open as he looked at Steve reply, preparing for the worst.
[11:01] Oh I know how to use my inches
Eddie dropped his phone onto the table and had to get up and pace, touch his face, his hair, throwing his hands in the air. Was this flirting? This felt like flirting. He wished he knew for sure. Maybe it was the lack of emoji. Had Steve put a winking face, he'd know for certain. Eddie leaned against his fridge, staring at his phone, sitting innocently on the table.
On the other side, Steve was burying his face into his pillow, pretending he didn't just say that. Would it come off as playful? As flirty? As casual? Should he have sent a wink? The seconds ticked and it felt too late. Like coughing after saying something awkward.
God, he was so desperate. Why was he even still texting? He had work in the morning. He should start preparing for bed so he had any hope of getting up on time. Steve pushed off the bed and went to his closet when he heard the notification sound and instantly returned.
(11:05) Let's get out the measuring tape (11:05) image.jpeg
Steve felt his heart skip a beat. The picture attached was of the very top of mystery man's head. He was holding up a lock of long, curly hair into the air. Steve studied the picture like he was getting paid to do it. He couldn't see any lower than the bangs on his forehead but there was still plenty to see.
The rings on his fingers for one, how his curls went this way and that. Steve quickly saved it and then replied with a similar pose, holding some hair by the fingers as far as it would go above his head.
[11:07] image.jpeg [11:08] I think you have me beat
They texted for about an hour more before Steve finally decided to be an adult and put himself to sleep, bidding mystery man good night.
Part 3
Fun fact, years ago I worked at an axe throwing place and yes, what happened to Eddie did in fact happen to me! On like my first week too I think

I keep getting teary-eyed thinking about how season one Steve Harrington went to the Byers's house to apologize to Jonathan, not even knowing Nancy was there.
He literally ditched his friends and immediately started trying to fix the things that he actively did harm to. Starting with helping the man at the theater, then presumably, immediately after, went to Jonathan’s house to apologize. Steve actually wanted to make things right! He wanted to let Jonathan know that what he did–and said–wasn't okay, he knew he did something wrong.
That's why I loved him in season 1, and I was so fucking happy to see his character in the rest of the series evolve. Like he really is the babygirl, our redemption king, and I love that for him.

Somebody Loves You, You Got A Friend.
Hello! This is my abo teenage parents steddie fic I talked about a few times. Wrote it a while ago for myself, never felt quite confident for sharing. But after sharing the few snippets, here’s the start! There’s real no end to it, it’s mostly slice of life with nearly no real plot. (Title is from Spaceship by Andy Grammer)
Some info you should know: it takes place in season 2. Originally wasn’t going to include the upside down but switched it to have it. ANYWAY, enjoy the start! It’s mostly Steve angst and only a hint of Eddie lol.
So, here’s the thing… Steve never keep his secondary gender a secret. In fact, he was quite proud of it. Mostly because it pisses his dad off to no end, and well, pissing off his dad is one of his and his mom’s favorite past time.
With that said he was definitely proud to take after his mom and for being a male omega. He knows it probably pisses more people off than they let on and really, that makes his fucking day.
Sometime around the time he entered high school, his status went sky high. He didn’t mind, though finding true friends was rough. Especially when Tommy and Carol glued themselves to him within a few hours of knowing him. Since he didn’t keep his omega status a secret, they thought he was weaker and needed to be protected. With Tommy being an alpha and Carol a beta, they decided to be best friends. It pissed him off, but at the time he didn’t have many friends. But of course, he’s not weak. He knows how to protect himself and even others.
His life gets flipped upside down, shortly after Nancy Wheeler calls him ‘bullshit’ in a bathroom at a dumb Halloween party.
It’s been months since Will Byers disappeared, thought dead and found alive. Also months since Nancy’s best friend fucking died while sitting at his pool. All while he and Nancy were in bed, they only found out in the next morning at school.
Nancy’s words send him spiraling down immediately, because unlike her, he does or did love her. So in a blind panic, he leaves the room and then the house and straight into the forest behind. Freaking out and sobbing as he went.
He didn’t know how long he was there, all he remembers of the night is panicking and then someone that smells of smoke, rain and freshly cut grass, helps him to his car and on his way. With only a matchbook with a number on it sitting on his passenger seat as who helped him.
In the morning, he gets ready for school, kisses his mom on the cheek and goes on his way. Only pocketing the matchbook as he parks in the school parking lot.
The day is simple only because he avoids Nancy as much as he can and then nearly get his ass handed to him by the new big alpha in town, Billy Hargrove.
“Should plant your feet, pretty boy”
He rolls his eyes, “shove the fuck off, Hargrove”
Billy is about to do another shove, he can’t figure out why to be honest. His scent is currently covered by scent blockers, the one thing his mom told him to take. When he notices Nancy waving him down, so he goes willingly to that danger instead.
It’s nothing but anger from her, it’s rolling off her in her scent even with a blocker, “Why didn’t you pick me up?”
He scruffs, “because I’m apparently bullshit?”
She at least flinches at that. But doesn’t apologize, at least, not the way he’d like. She does try to excuse it all by saying she was drunk and if there is one thing he took to heart from his asshole dad; drunk words are sober thoughts.
The final kicker of the whole conversation: her not saying “I love you” after he pleads her to.
He decides after that, Nancy Wheeler is someone he refuses to be with.
If you made it this far great!! Because after this the real fun begins 🥳 meaning Eddie is actually there and you get to meet my favorite person, Janet Harrington… Steve’s mom! This was just getting things mostly set up. I hope it doesn’t seem too weird with jumping around or weird phrasing lol.
(Btw, I don’t necessarily keep to everything everyone does in abo fics. I go with whatever I like and easy to work with. So there’s scents, mates, pack easy things. Nothing too explicit either, I’m definitely not confident enough to post smut hahaha.) OH AND IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR WANNA TALK ABOUT THIS AU MY MESSAGES AND ASK BOX IS ALWAYS OPEN!!!!!

mtf omega stevie where everyone's like why bother transitioning you've already got the vagina and the uterus and everything. but stevies like listen. it's the principle of the thing. also sue me for wanting big naturals
meanwhile alpha eddie's losing his mind bc estrogen makes stevie smell so much sweeter, like honey and caramel, and he's trying not to be a total knothead about it but the 'big naturals' are. ho boy. they're there alright. and stevie already had 'childbearing hips' according to her mother, but the fat redistribution has basically turned her into some kind of fertility goddess, and eddie is so ready to get started on those six nuggets

[Steddie abo | 1.2k | part 1/? (part 2 here) | rated T, possibly M in later parts | not mentioned in this part of the ficlet but steddie is omega/omega 😌]
“So,” Nancy starts on a Sunday afternoon. “I think we should ask Eddie to be in our pack.”
It’s early summer. It’s rainy and muggy. The Wheeler’s basement is cooler than the rest of the house, but not necessarily comfortable. The kids are sprawled around the couch, reading comic books together. Nancy, Robin, and Steve are convened by the washer and dryer while Nancy folds a load of blankets for their upcoming pack night. Which Eddie is invited to. Because Eddie is already a part of their pack.
“Well, duh,” Robin says easily. “Of course. He went to Hell and back with us, plus he hangs around with us all the time, anyway.”
Steve scoffs, “You say that like he’s not already in the pack.”
“Oh? You know something we don’t?” Robin asks, eyebrows raised.
“Come on, don’t be stupid. Eddie’s in the pack. Has been, for like, months.”
Robin and Nancy share a look, before Nancy narrows her eyes at Steve. “Okay… And are you sure Eddie knows he’s in the pack?”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Steve says, crossing his arms and cocking his hip to the side to leave against the washer.
“Well we can’t just assume that he knows,” Nancy said, shaking her head quickly when Robin jumps in.
“We know it’s just been him and Wayne for a long time. He might not be familiar with big pack dynamics. Or, like, any pack dynamics. It probably works a lot different to be a pack of two.”
The logic is sound, it’s fair and valid, but then Steve remembers Eddie rubbing the scent gland on his wrist while they were falling asleep to the tv yesterday afternoon. Like pack mates do. Not just simple easy going friends hanging out.
“Trust me, he knows.”
“Fine. Great. So since Eddie knows he’s in our pack, and this isn’t news to him at all, then you won’t mind taking these blankets for him to scent for the next movie night nest?” Nancy gives him a tight lipped smile and shoves a stack of blankets in Steve’s arms.
“Oh, come on, Nance. He’s been to literally every pack gathering since he’s gotten out of the hospital. Not to mention, everything we did for him in the hospital and while he was recovering!”
There was a pack member posted at both Max’s and Eddie’s bedsides as often as humanly possible, usually Steve himself since he wasn’t in school and Family Video had been closed until further notice. And he’ll never forget Eddie waking up from his 2-week coma, shocked to be alive, possibly even more shocked that Steve was the one at his bedside, and professing his love for the pack through choked tears. If there was ever a chance that Eddie might not become absorbed into Steve’s ragtag pack before (not likely; they were bonded by the harrowing experience of going to the Upside Down, and Eddie just felt like theirs now), that little moment cemented his spot right there.
Steve continues, “He’s literally always with us. He smells like us. He just scented me yesterday when we were saying goodbye, for Christ’s sake! I know he failed, like, four times but he’s not that dense.”
So Steve might be getting a little worked up, so sue him. Eddie is theirs. It’s crazy that Nancy and Robin think they need to spell it out.
Nancy huffs and rolls her eyes before giving Steve’s shoulder a light push so she can get to the washer and switch loads. “Eddie was barely conscious in the hospital and had literally no one else to help take care of him when he got out. He could’ve thought we were just being nice.” When she’s done, she straightens up and looks at Steve with the hint of a playful smirk on her lips. “Besides, I think the scenting is more of a you thing than a pack thing.”
“Now you’re really being ridiculous.”
Nancy raises her eyebrows at Robin, a silent plea for back up, which Robin gleefully obliges.
“I mean, I can’t say I’ve ever been scented by Eddie.”
Nancy narrows her eyes and strokes her chin, a mimicry of deep thought. “I can’t say that I have, either. In fact, I’d deduce no one in the pack has.”
“Hmm, elementary, dear Watson,” Robin says with a bad British accent and mimes smoking a pipe, which causes Nancy to break character and giggle. Usually, Steve would think the two of them were cute, making each other laugh. But not now, when it’s at his expense.
“Okay, don’t be smart. He has to have scented, like, Mike or Dustin, or Lucas. They were in that nerd club together, he’s known them longer. Maybe he’s a little closed off, but… Look, there’s no way he doesn’t know. It’s honestly kind of insulting that you think he doesn’t, I really expected better of you two.” If his arms werent full of blankets, he’d cross them over his chest in a stance the kids had dubbed his mom pose (and damn those kids, but maybe it is a little reminiscent of a mother scolding their pups).
Steve can see the subtle irritation simmering in Nancy as she gives him another tight smile. “Right. Okay. So. Blankets. Go get his scent. Thanks.”
Steve turns to go and calls, “Hey kids!” as he walks toward the couch. “Which of you has ever been scented by Munson?”
Surprisingly, it’s only Dustin that raises a hand. “Henderson? Just you?”
Dustin shrugs, “Yeah. It was when he was still in the hospital, after… You know.”
Dustin, understandably, does not like to talk much about the events of March 1986, and no one really blames him. So they leave it at that.
“You know, you’re going to have to actually ask him,” Max says, without looking up from the comic she’s reading. “They’re right. He wouldn’t know.”
“Really, Mayfield, you ganging up on me, too?” How could they all have such little faith in Eddie to see the obvious right in front of him?
“Why are we ganging up on Steve? I want to gang up on Steve,” Mike pipes up, looking up from his book.
Steve sighs through his nose before he explains, “Rob and Nance seem to think Eddie needs a formal invitation to the pack. Because apparently, it’s not enough that he’s with us, like, 24/7.”
Lucas shrugs, “Maybe… It’s not enough for him?”
“What?! That’s crazy.” That was Mike. And he’s not ganging up on Steve, he’s agreeing with him. Ha! “He just is pack. He just is!”
“Look, I’m not saying he isn’t, but I agree with Robin. We can’t just assume he knows.”
El shrugs in her spot next to Mike. “I probably would not know I was in your pack if you had not told me.”
An interesting point, sure, but El was raised in a lab.
“See?” Max says. “And Eddie is just… Like, sure he’s got this larger than life personality on the outside and all this bravado, but his emotions seem more closed off. Yeah, he comes to pack nights, but he never gets in the nest unless asked, and even then he has to ease into it, like he’s worried he shouldn’t be there.”
Besides Steve being surprised that Max has paid that much attention to Eddie, Steve is even more surprised that she might be… Right.
“This debate is stupid,” Dustin weighs in, voice loud, ready to settle things. “Eddie is ours,” he says. He says it with so much finality, such surety, like if he knows nothing else in the world, at least he knows this. Steve’s heart feels warm with the truth of it. Because Dustin gets it. “But-“ Wait, but? But what? No buts!- “It doesn’t hurt to reassure both him and us of that fact. So, Steve, if you will.” Dustin gestures vaguely towards the blankets, then waves Steve off like a King on his throne dismissing the jester.
And just like that the kids shrug, going back to their comic books. Nancy is smiling and waving goodbye to him while Robin pushes him toward the stairs.

Slipped Through My Fingers Pt. 1
~Steddie A/B/O no Upside-Down AU~
⚠️ Trigger warnings⚠️ kidnapping, non-consensual medical exam, violence
This is gonna be a very dark fic with mostly angst, don't interact/read if it's not your cup of tea.
Steve and Eddie weren't close. Not in the beginning. In fact, Steve would say he hated Eddie. Not for any specific reason.
Eddie would say the opposite. He liked Steve. He liked that Steve had never bullied him. He didn't appreciate him not doing anything to stop his friends from bullying Eddie, but he was glad the alpha didn't beat him up.
The more they hung out, though, the less Steve hated Eddie and the more Eddie liked Steve. He never commented on how Eddie had yet to present despite being nineteen, didn't call him a freak. They drank together, smoked together. And when they started hanging out without the kids, nobody really said anything. It was nice.
Steve noticed the signs first. Eddie’s irritability, hunger, and seemingly constant sweating.
“Are you sure you don't need me to stay?” Steve asked, hovering at Eddie’s door. Eddie shook his head, running his fingers through his hair.
“My uncle will be here around two,” he mumbled.
“Okay, well, presentations are no joke, call me if you need anything. Or Robin, if that makes you more comfortable,” Steve offered. Eddie nodded, shifting on his feet. He wanted to thank Steve, ask him to stay, to help, but he was scared. And then Steve was walking away, getting in his car, driving away, and Eddie had to close his door and curl up in his uncle's bed, needing the comfort of his scent.
His body ached, especially his abdomen and pelvis, and all he could do was curl up and hope that sleep would take away the pain. It did. For a little while, anyways. Because then Eddie was waking up in a mess of wet sheets and agony. He stumbled into the bathroom, turned the shower on, and sat inside, tears rolling down his cheeks. His knees were pressed to his chest, the water hitting his messy curls, as he squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block out the pain of his bones and organs being rearranged. He was definitely not an alpha. Interesting. He looked at the clock hanging on the wall. Almost midnight. He could make it, until two, only two hours. But his body decided against it, sending another shudder of agony through him.
Steve.
Eddie cleaned up what he could before stumbling out of the shower and pulling some clothes on and tripping his way out of the trailer and into the van. In his delirium, he completely forgot that Steve had told him to call.
His vision swam as he tried to start the old thing. The engine choked to life and he began to drive, nearly hitting more than a few street lamps. If he were more aware, he would have noticed the car trailing behind him. But he was not, so he didn't.
He reached Steve’s house, despite the odds, and he lurched out of the car, trying to get to the start of the driveway when someone grabbed him, pressing a gloved hand over his mouth. Eddie’s eyes widened and he clawed at the hand on his face, scent quickly turning sour, trying weakly to get away. A gruff chuckle came from the man behind him, which quickly turned into a grunt of pain when Eddie sank his teeth into the glove. The man shoved Eddie down, causing him to smack his head on the corner of the mirror on his van. Sharp, blinding pain shot through Eddie’s head and then he was gone.
When he woke up, the first thing Eddie noticed was that he was naked. The second was that his wrists were bound and his body was pressed against something cold. The third was the pain continuously throbbing throughout him. A soft, nearly silent whimper left him, but it was enough to alert the person next to him.
“It’s awake!” The person shouted, making Eddie’s head pound. And then there were hands on him, lifting him up, moving him around. He whined and whimpered in protest but couldn't really do much other than squirm a little. His tongue and eyelids were heavy. Where was he? What was happening? Where were his clothes? His uncle? Steve? And then there were hands prying his legs apart, pinning them down. Eddie whined louder, his distressed scent filling the air. His eyes, falling like weights despite recent events, flew open when something cold began prodding him, his newly formed body, still tender, and it stung. Tears filled his eyes.
“S’op…” he whined, words slurred with a heavy tongue, trying to close his legs. They didn't stop, spreading him and poking him, ignoring his whimpers and cries.
“You nabbed him just after presenting, eh? I'll let the boss know to reward you handsomely,” the person who was prodding Eddie said in a satisfied tone. Eddie whined again.
“Good. Little bitch bit me,” another voice said. This one Eddie recognized. The man from before. Terror ran through him, clearly showing through his scent when the two chuckled.
“Hey, maybe you’ll get his first time. His heat should be starting soon. He seems very fertile. He’ll make us good money.” The prodding and poking stopped and Eddie was unchained before the men left the room, leaving Eddie to try and process what the men were talking about.
He crawled across the floor, to the small blanket that was tossed on the ground and curled up on it, tears threatening to spill. What the fuck we're those guys talking about? Making money? Fertile? And then it hit him. He had heard about omega trafficking, but never did he stop to think it would happen to him.
Eddie pressed his face into his knees and hoped it was just a bad dream.

Steddie Mating Run AU, Ouroboros
Mating jewelry, while not required, was a very important symbol in relationships. Alphas specially hand crafting a sign of their love for the person they cherished the most. But now a days, it was considered cheesy as hell. Still, that didn't stop Steve from heading to the jewelry store in the mall in hopes of finding something to impress his kind of, not really, mate.
It was a busy Sunday afternoon when Steve arrived at the shop near the corner of the mall. Approaching the counter near the front, Steve was greeted by a collection of big, bright gemstones that demanded attention. Every time Steve's mother came home, she was wearing something new his father bought. To some people, it would seem like his father cared about his mother. But Steve knew it was him establishing his ownership over her. She'd been very eager to tell a nine year old Steve this while black out drunk.
"I never wanted you. " He clearly remembered her saying as she laid spread out over the sofa in their foyer. Barely maintaining her grip on the glass of wine in her hand. They had a party earlier that night and his dad disappeared upstairs with one of his "friends" from work. His mother responded the only way she could, by trying to drink enough to forget about everything around her. Steve couldn't remember why he came downstairs that night. He was supposed to stay in his room when they had grown-up parties. Yet he still ended up in the living room, staring up in confusion at his mother as she stumbled to her feet. Letting out a strangled groan as she almost tripped over her child. Her neck was in his face, adorned by the necklace his father gave her. A choker that he now realized was more of a collar.
"God, you look just like him," she slurred out, "he took me when he knew I didn't have a choice. Now I'm stuck with a cheating prick of a husband and a disappointment for a kid." The woman took another sip of the wine. "Why couldn't you have been a girl? Maybe I could at least stand you if...if..." She trailed off before she could finish, the glass of wine falling on the floor before she completely passed out. It was one of the few times Steve saw his mom's real face. Not the one she put on to look like a picture-perfect family.
The memory faded and Steve was back in the jewelry shop. Staring down at the case specifically for mating jewelry. Frowning at the diamond necklace on a headless mannequin. Maybe this wasn't a good idea...
"Do you need help finding anything?"
Steve jumped at the voice, turning to see a store attendant smiling at him. The woman was a few years older than him. Her name tag read Olivia.
"Ugh, I don't know." Steve reached into his jacket, fishing around in his pocket and pulling out one of the rings he (temporarily) stole from Eddie to get an idea for size. Pulling it out revealed a silver skull with its teeth bared. Olivia's eyes fell on the ring and she raised an eyebrow at the piece of metal. "He doesn't know I'm here. And he thinks stuff like this is out of date and weird, but I want to show him this is important to me."
"And he's an omega?" Steve nodded.
"Yeah. I don't want to be one of those guys who's weirdly possessive about this kind of thing but I still want to get him something nice." Steve held the ring out to the woman who took it. Looking the piece over with a loud hum before she spoke.
"I think I have something you might be interested in." Steve followed her to the curtained off area. Waiting as she pulled it back to reveal shelves upon shelves of cases. Steve did his best not to focus on the way her body was positioned in front of him. As far as she knew, he already had a mate. Instead, he stared at the carpeted floor and waited until she let out a small "a-ha!". Looking up, Steve watched as she pulled away with a small box. It was covered in a thin layer of dust. The woman wiped it away before opening it to reveal a small silver band. Pulling it out, she revealed it was a braided snake eating its own tail. Glints of purple and red shone through the loops to represent scales. "We got this one in a while ago. It's called the Ouroboros. It's not our shiniest piece, but it seems in line with your partner's tastes."
If there was any jewelry piece in the world that screamed Eddie, this was it. Looking at the price tag at the edge of the box, Steve already knew Eddie would freak if he found out Steve spent this much on him, but it was a goodwill gift more than anything. He didn't need to know how much it actually cost.
"I'll take it."

based off the song morning train (its a banger sorry) cw: omegaverse
-
Eddie never thought he'd be the type of alpha that left the house every morning to catch the train into the city to go to work then catch another home again but here he is, watching houses flash past the window on his way home from work
(to be fair to him at least he's not working in some stuffy office, his steady job is at a tattoo studio and he doesn't exactly work 9-5 or on Mondays but Saturdays instead and anyway that's not his point, his point is that he has a steady daytime job that requires taking the train into the city to get to it)
Eddie also didn't think he'd have a househusband or a mate but life is full of surprises, isn't it?
Steve, his beautiful omega, is waiting for him as he walks through the door like he is everyday, he greets Eddie with a hug and a kiss and a happy, delighted smile without fail, sometimes he'll drag Eddie straight upstairs to make love, sometimes Eddie can coax his baby out to a movie or a restaurant and he can watch Steve light up for him
they hadn't meant to turn into a stereotype of an alpha/omega couple where the omega stays at home and slaves away to keep the place nice whilst the alpha goes out and makes their money but Steve hadn't known what he wanted to do and Eddie would do anything for Steve so he found a job and when Steve had hesitantly talked about being a stay at home parent Eddie had happily agreed and had taken Steve's hand and lead him upstairs so they could get started on baby number one
Steve likes to whisper in Eddie's ear about how he daydreams all day long about his alpha coming home, how watching Eddie step off the train when he comes down to the platform to meet him some days is the highlight of Steve's week, that the days last forever without Eddie there, that Steve is crazy mad for his alpha and Eddie tells him that he's crazy mad for Steve too
Eddie works all day, to earn his pay so that he can look after Steve and his future family, so that he can take care of Steve and so that they can play all night if they want
so he takes that morning train, he works not quite 9-5 then he takes another home again straight back to his baby and he'll do it again and again if it means Steve is happy

Mafia AU Part 3
Eddie assumed he understood what a sponsorship would entail. Basically, he would take on any job that Steve ordered him to do. It could be as mundane as collecting some protection money from a laundromat. It could be as risky as killing a cop. If Eddie wanted in with this family, he would have to do it, no questions asked. So when he got a call the next day to come over that afternoon, it didn't matter whatever plans he might have. He needed to go.
When Wayne's car was unavailable, Eddie had to rely on the bus, and from the stop there was about a ten minute walk until he got to the gates of the house. Thankfully the weather was mild, so he didn't work up too much of a sweat. Being a low-born alpha, it was seen as bad manners to let his scent get away from him in the presence of higher men.
As Eddie was being escorted inside, he thought about his dad's car that he'd been working on since he got locked up. It was pretty much his. It just needed a little help and then he'd be mobile.
"Welcome back, Mr. Munson", Steve said as he entered the room.
"Please, Mr. Munson is my good-for-nothing father", Eddie grinned.
Steve held out his hand and Eddie took it, shaking it lightly. Today Steve was just in a vest and slacks. His hair was perfect, as always.
"Come with me." Steve released his hand and started up the stairs. That was a bit of a surprise to Eddie, but he followed along anyway.
The Marini house was filled with closed doors that showed no signs of what was inside. Steve probably knew what was inside of all of them. Knew all the secrets of this house. Steve finally stopped at one of the doors and went inside.
"Close it behind yourself, will you?", Steve asked.
Eddie did, acutely aware of the fact that he was now behind a closed door with an omega way out of his league. He hoped his swallow went unnoticed.
"I bet you're curious about what I'll have you do", Steve said with a grin, going over to one of the twin chairs in the room.
That was when Eddie really took in his surroundings. This wasn't just any room. It was a bedroom. A laughably large bed was just to his left.
"I think I have a pretty good idea of what I'll have to do", Eddie said, standing staunchly by the door.
"Well? There's a spot for you to sit now", Steve said. "100% Tommy free."
"What? Hagan's never been inside your boudoir?" Eddie took slow steps towards the other chair that was facing Steve.
"You know what they say, an omega's nest is their treasure. It's rare for anyone who's not blood or kin to be this close."
"....Then what am I doing here?", Eddie asked bluntly.
"You're going to be under me, Eddie. Directly in fact. I thought you might want some practice~", he winked.
Eddie bit his lip but otherwise kept his body under control. There was the thrill of danger. He shouldn't. He really shouldn't. Steve was off limits. The most off limits. But those eyes, those lips, those hands... How could Eddie resist? His brain was working overtime as Steve stood and smoothly moved to straddle his lap. The pine and lavender in his scent made him both winter and spring and for a moment, Eddie was drowning in it.
But then he thought about what Steve was getting out of it as his hands ran down his chest. To Steve, he was just a run of the mill nobody with a knot he could use and then throw away. Steve could either be a meal ticket or his warden. Either way, Eddie didn't find the idea all that appealing.
Eddie grabbed Steve's hands, stopping them from going any lower. Then he grabbed his hips and gently lifted him off.
"You don't want me?", Steve asked.
"I don't wanna be played with", Eddie said. "This isn't your room. It smells nothing like you. And we're not alone." He glanced to the closet where he'd heard an odd rustling sound.
"Observant", Steve noted. "You can come out now, Robin."
Eddie stood up as Robin exited the closet. "I'm here to take orders from the mob. I'm no stranger to dirty work. But not that dirty. When you have an actual job for me, you know where to go."
"We'll be in touch", Steve said. He watched Eddie go, leaving him and Robin behind.
Robin whistled. "You really laid in on thick and he still didn't jump your bones. I think he might be serious."
"Yeah...me too..."
Robin gave him a strange look before one of realization set in. "Oh my god", she hissed in a whisper. "You like him now, don't you?"
"I don't-I don't....Robin, I don't like him!"
"Typical Harrington. You've got a bunch of alphas drooling after you and you get the hots for the one that's turned you down."
Steve was still staring at the door. When he had met Eddie downstairs, he had been hit with a soft wave of something that Steve just couldn't put his finger on. It was both spicy and sweet and he wondered why Eddie had smelled so strongly and yet it wasn't enough, he wanted to bury himself with it.
He and Robin had concocted this scheme. To see how serious Eddie was. To see if he would dip his pen the first chance he got. What would he do if Steve laid himself out for him? Turns out not much.
Steve practically served himself on a silver platter and Eddie had said 'no thanks'. While he tried to play it off, Steve was more effected than he appeared. He was in the middle of dinner when he suddenly slammed down on the table and shouted "Apple cider!"
His father paused in his chewing and frowned. Steve cleared his throat and straightened up in his seat.
"I was just thinking that it'd be nice. For autumn. It's coming soon we should have hot cider in the house", he said quickly to cover up the fact that he had figured out what Eddie's scent reminded him of. Warm spices, sweet and tart apples. Steve had barely resisted nosing at his neck earlier. But he might not be able to do so again if the temptation arose.
Robin helpfully reminded him that Eddie probably walked a bit to get here and thus worked up a sweat. If Steve was going to get through this, he'd have to prevent Eddie sweating apparently.
------------------------
The next day, Eddie got a call that a car was being sent for him. Sure enough, when he went down to the street, there was a car. With a driver and everything.
"Thought I'd have to at least kill a couple of guys before I got my own chauffeur."
The driver kept silent, obviously not a man of great humor, as he took him to another part of town. The car stopped in front of a storefront and Steve was standing there, fully suited up, hair once again perfect, looking out of place on a street like this.
"Do you own any other clothes?", Steve asked when Eddie stepped out of the car.
When it came to formal clothing, Eddie didn't have much in the way of variety. He'd been stretching it as he could. He never had to look this way for more than a day at a time.
"Ole Stevie Two-Suits over here. You ready to get some work done? Some actual work?", he grinned.
"I am. Time to impress, Mr. Munson."
Eddie went to the door and opened it, seeing that it was a lounge. "After you."

Somebody loves you, you got a friend (part 3)
Part 1, Part 2.
Ready for some actual plot?! This is also where I’m the most vague and not at all confident in my writing but here we go anyway enjoy! ~
Life goes on, he and Eddie become thick as thieves. All of their classmates are completely thrown by it, Nancy most of all. She tried talking to him at one point, again, and he turned right around.
Then, he’s hit with his heat.
Honestly, it’s his own fault for even forgetting it.
It’s also his fault for not telling Eddie.
Because it hits on a random school day and normally, the two of them hang out at school and after. So, when he wakes up feeling gross and empty, he doesn’t even have time to call ahead. On top of that, his dad called his mom away.
As he gets out of the shower, feeling more alive, there’s a loud knocking on his front door. Pulling on clothes is a chore and this is the one thing he hates about being an omega.
Probably pulling open the door without looking to see who it is first, is a mistake. Clearly. Because before his mind registers it, he’s pulling the person inside and pushing them up against the wall.
Then he’s hit with a scent combination of smoke, rain and freshly cut grass. One of his absolute favorite scents out there. He blinks and he’s met with Eddie looking at him, then arousal is filling his scent. Steve’s heat-brain doesn’t even think, just pulls the alpha to him and crashes their lips together.
It’s not the last time either.
The heat-brain doesn’t last long, thankfully, and they can talk. Even if they’re both entirely naked and have already shoved their tongues into each other’s mouths.
“Sorry” Steve whispers, his head resting on top of Eddie’s chest, “I didn’t mean to jump you.”
Eddie just laughs, pulling him closer to him, “I’ll be honest, didn’t expect this when i decided to come here. Very happy about it, though”
The omega doesn’t say anything at first, moves his sore body up and then straddles the alpha, looking down at him with a frown. “Is it because you get a few days of sex or because you like me?”
Eddie’s hands fly to his hips and holds him steady as the alpha moves slightly to sit up, then moves one of his hands to Steve’s face. A soft smile and what Steve hopes, awe and adoration in his eyes, “Stevie, because I like you. A lot, I’ll be honest the sex is just a bonus”
——— Two Months Later ———
Something feels off, Steve isn’t sure what exactly it is. But he knows, something is off and it’s pissing him off.
First, he’s waking up feeling nauseous all the damn time. He can’t stand certain smells, his mom’s perfume for example, one of his favorite scents and lately he can’t even stand it to be near it. Thankfully his other favorite scent, Eddie’s scent, is fine and one of the only things to actually settle and soothe him.
Second, he feels like absolute shit all the damn time. And can’t figure out which can hurt more, his chest, stomach or his legs.
The only thing he’s feeling great about is the fact that he and Eddie are a couple now and it’s truly the best feeling in the world. He didn’t think an alpha could be this good and actually want him.
He’s currently on his knees in front of his toilet, dry heaving whatever is left in his system. Feeling like absolute trash.
“Steve, sweetie, what is going on? Are you ok?” He hears his mom through the door along with her knocking, “Steve?”
He groans, pushing himself off the ground and walks over to open the door, only to rush back to the toilet to throw up again. Hearing his mom walk over and then bind down, she’s wearing her perfume currently but the smell coming from the toilet is enough for him to not shove his hand against his nose.
“I feel like shit, mom”
She only lets out a hum, smoothing his hair away from his face and he’s hit with her scent of lavender and eucalyptus. Sighing, he chases the warmth of his mom’s hand and whines when it’s pulled away. Opening his eyes, he sees his mom staring at him with concern and before he knows it, she’s standing up and turning around.
“I’ll be right back, sweetie”
Then he’s alone again, but not for long. His eyes pop open when he’s hit with something on the back of his head. Glaring at his mom, he blindly grabs whatever it is and pulls it forwards to find….
A pregnancy test.
“No, oh no.” He mumbles, looking at the stick, “mom, no. I-“
She shakes her head and doesn’t look pissed off, but he can see the tiny bit of disappointment before she’s looking back at him like she always does, with nothing but adoration and love. “Steve, sweetie, I know you and Eddie spent your heat together last month. There’s a chance you might be, until we can get a doctors appointment, this is the only way”
His eyes sting as he stares at the offending stick and then back at his mom. “But, but I’m only-“
She nods and bends down next to him a sad smile on her lips, “I know, sweetie. It’s ok, really, it is. I’ll still love you and will be right here with you the entire time.”
“What about Eddie? He’s only a year older- we’re both-“
She shakes her head, “Steve, sweetie, don’t worry about that right now. We don’t even know if you are yet. It’s still a what if until you take that test and we visit a Doctor.”
~
Steve is nervous, anxious and scared.
His own scent of lemon and honey is overwhelming even to his own nose. His mom is sitting next to him and holding his hand tightly in hers.
They’ve been in this stiff waiting room for fifteen minutes now and the only other person in here smells like burnt wood and they’re clearly here for a regular check up, the near silence is getting to his head.
“Harrington?”
They both shoot up and follow the nurse to an empty room, the equipment already next to the uncomfortable bed. His nervousness is back in full force, as he listens to the nurse tell him to lay back.
“Ok, Steve, I’m going to put this gel over your abdomen. Will you please move your shirt up? It’s a little cold, but only for a second”
The coolness from the gel, is needed to him. It shocks him back from the anxious and nervous thoughts running in his head, not that any of what’s going on it in makes sense.
It’s mostly silent in the room, the only sounds is beeping from the equipment and their breathing. Then as the nurse rolls the wand over his abdomen, there’s another sound and it’s beating.
His mom lets out a sharp breath and his eyes are stinging. Then he forces his head to look at the machine, and clear as day on the screen is a little blob.
It’s so tiny, you can’t even tell what actually it is he’s looking at. But the nurse moves the camera wand slightly and it’s there and the sound doesn’t change. His mom squeezes his hand and he can’t pull his eyes away from the screen. He thinks the nurse is talking, but he can’t hear them, can’t even hear his mom respond.
He blinks and then blinks again, suddenly the sound is gone and it’s just his mom with him.
“Sweetie-“
“I’m sorry” he manages to choke out and he can feel the tears roll down his face, “I- I’m sorry mama”
“Oh Stevie, no.” She whispers and pulls him tight against her, “Sweetheart, baby, you do not need to be sorry. You and Eddie just weren’t careful, and it’s okay. I still love you and will always support you, ok? Whatever you decide”
He doesn’t answer and just cries into her chest. He sobs and tries to listen to his mom whisper in his ear, telling him how much she loves him and everything he always hears when he’s upset.
Expect, he doesn’t actually hear her. Not really. The machine is off, the thing is no longer against him. But he can still hear the beating, the heartbeat.
The baby’s heartbeat.
His baby.
Eddie’s baby.
Oh look at that angst 😌 we gotta even out the sweetness in this somehow! So you get a cliffhanger and you get to wait for Eddie’s reaction! Which honestly, you should know how it ends up from a snippet I shared a while ago.
If anything seems out of place, it’s because I wasn’t alive in the 80’s and haven’t been pregnant ✌️ also didn’t feel like researching anything for this. So I’m going off my own knowledge from stories I’ve heard or fics I read. (P sure pee on the stick pregnancy tests wasn’t around in the 80s tho) I’m rambling, hope you enjoyed it and if you see any mistakes or have questions, my dms & ask box is always open 🥰

Ohmygod, Eddie getting a little emotional when he sees Steve has made a nest in his space, that Steve trusts him and is comfortable in his house in his room, and like yeah Eddie knew Steve cared about him but enough to nest in his room? To build himself a spot and surround himself with Eddie’s scent without a second thought? He rides that emotional high for *weeks*.
Eddie starts giving Steve a lot more of his clothes. At this point, officially courting the Omega.
Steve, is absolutely loving it. Having something of Eddie's just makes him feel so much more safe. Steve rarely spends time in his own house, unable to sleep without the Alpha now
