Prompt no.29: Pocket (ao3)
James heard a few chairs scraping in the other room; there was quiet murmuring, the sound of a door opening and closing before silence fell again. One of the members leaving for their home, James thought.
He breathed deeply and closed his eyes - he saw several cloaked figures emerging from the ruins of the building, grotesque masks on their faces; he saw the Order fighting beside him; he saw his own hand raise his wand, shooting a streak of green light and a cloaked figure falling down.
He opened his eyes, shuddering. He swallowed hard, rocking back and forth. His throat was dry and he was overcome with a sudden urge to throw up.
He snapped his eyes up when the door to the room opened. Lily stood at the doorway - her robes were tattered and there was an ugly gash on her arm that was healing slowly. Someone must have healed her before she gave her report, James assumed. She closed the door back and slowly made her way over to him.
James observed her face as she sat in front of him. Her face was dirty and there was no brightness to the greens of her eyes. He looked deeply into them regardless, grounding himself.
Only when Lily lifted her arm to wipe at his cheeks did he realise that he had been crying.
“It’s fine,” she whispered softly, producing a kerchief from her pockets.
“I killed them, Lily,” James said, struggling to keep his voice from cracking. Lily held his hands and simply nodded. “Is that what we are now?” James continued. “Killers?”
Her eyes welled up with tears. He held his breath as she leaned forward and kissed his forehead.
“You are James,” she said, wiping the sweat off his brows. “And I’m Lily. That’s all that matters.” She combed his hair softly with her fingers – James leaned into the touch, taking shallow breaths that felt like knives stabbing at his chest.

This headcanon doesn’t really make sense, but I really like the idea of the Warren line having elemental powers in the past. So have some thoughts on that:
Canonically, P. Bowen had cryokinesis and P. Russell had pyrokinesis
Phoebe had levitation, but what if it originated from a distant ancestor? Phoebe’s power didn’t grow in that way, but that ancestor could have gone levitation -> flight -> aerokinesis?
Paige’s past life had Conjuring the Elements, and I know that the Evil Enchantress wasn’t a Warren, but the idea of retaining powers from a past life? And specifically reincarnating into the Warren line? Plus, Paige did tap into those powers when facing the Evil Enchantress so she wouldn’t have presumably lost all of them forever.
Electrokinesis feels like it’d be a fitting witch power for the Warrens. Just something about the storm-like nature of it with a family like them.
Hydrokinesis was a popular fan power for the next gen, which was more based on Logan Lerman as the Henry Jr. fancast or using the actresses in H2O as the girls though.
I don’t really anything concrete (lmao) for geokinesis, but still.
#charmed#powers#abi speaks#i do actually have a headcanon about a warren with electrokinesis tho#but i mean it could also just be that a witch married into the warren family and his family's powers had been elemental powers#and so it sporadically pops up over the resulting generations#i just really like elemental powers#frankly the past lives thing make it likely that they're still in the line#maybe not with the current sisters' powers but p. baxter didnt seem to do anything to lose her powers#so prue would have presumably gained cryokinesis at some point#and paige could/should have gained at least one elemental ability from her past life#oooh imma make a post about that#edit: okay have i been mixing up p. bowen and p. baxter this whole time#was anyone going to tell me that i had them flipped 😭

Wow I didn't realize I had such a good week till just now.
- I went to my first ever wrestling show and saw my favorite wrestlers live.(I had fun cheering and booing at the top of my lungs with my siblings too, lol)
- I reached out to a Podcaster who's work I really like, who's open to talking to me more in the future if I have stuff to share.
- I had breakfast with my mom and got some new clothes that I think are cute(after a doctor's appointment, I really was dreading)
- Had some really good Japanese food
- I feel I'm finally getting my strength back after 3 years (I just feel more healthy in general)
And some many other little things that made me happy. This time of the month is usually the worst, but this is the first time since I don't know when I just had a good solid week😊

put on the weighted blanket yesterday and went “huh what if au where yukuto was alive still though” and within like 5 minutes my brain was 20 layers deep into an au for ai1 where the ryuki brothers are Involved in the cyclops case (mizuki route in specific)
part of me wants to write this and part of me is just sitting here like “man,”

He leaned his elbows on the stone plank and bent his neck low. “Are you alright, Lily?” he asked. “You were very quiet the whole day and now you look like something’s troubling you.”
Lily looked at her feet and smiled a little. “I’m fine,” she said, not meeting his eyes.
Sensing that she wasn’t telling the truth James hummed and turned towards the grounds. The wind was very pleasant and he basked in the feeling of the cold air weaving through his hair before talking again.
“Nice weather for the night, isn’t it?”
“We should stop seeing each other,” Lily stated.
Summary: Lily thinks they should break up; James never even considered it.
