batman or dc comics for the fandom ask game?
Oh, nice huge cast lmao! Okay.
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) i think...this is still Batman. Once various Robins were competing but now the Bat reins uncontested. He's got the staying power.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped) I'm. Hm. ...Jericho, maybe? Jaime Reyes Beetle? Iris West II? I get this emotion about a lot of people but I'm not sure who gets it 'most' or 'most consistently' or 'as my majority reaction.' Weirdly this is a feeling I don't get powerfully without feeling like ten other things, yk? Who brings the squee, hm.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) So many option??? I have to admit I care much less whether a character gets enough attention and more if they are mischaracterized so if I like someone obscure-ish I will for the most part be perfectly happy for them to stay in the background, and not notice it. Oh I have a funny one--Killer Moth. This character has so much history and you could do such a variety of fun shit with him, but because his name is funny he's barely been touched in decades afaik and hasn't had Events Happen since the storylines in the 90s involving his selling his soul to Neron in order to become the moth demon Charaxes. Which is a very 90s development I'm sure we'll all agree.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week) Do you one better, guys who haven't shown up since their original storyline, also in the 90s, but I still want them to: Bane's original prison-break squad. The fruity-looking bird-taming guy who taught him to read, the rail-thin knife-throwing chemist who knew him since he was a baby, and the absurdly hirsute megabuff murderer who accidentally pushed him over a railing and fractured his skull while trying to protect him from a child molester, and also inexplicably turned out later to be a gifted mechanical engineer. Bane how could you let these guys go. Just because they lost all their IQ points after moving to Gotham. That's your family fool.
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave) Hahaha oh I'm so spoiled for choice. Everyone is controversial here and most of them are pathetic. The person I've been yelled at most for liking is Tim Drake? Which like. He's not unpopular exactly even now but man has he got haters.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason) Hahaha um. My record says this is Jason Todd. I created a universe where he has op super-healing and proceeded to fuck him up repeatedly and I enjoyed it. I love him.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) Uh. Joker.

concept: death note tma crossover i feel like that could be cool and more importantly now that ive told you maybe my brain will let me be free
[follow-up asks] my brain did not free me anyways light finds a leitner (lightner lmao) and starts heading towards avatarhood, l is an avatar of the eye and his specific taste in weird and difficult cases is definitely how he would be regardless but it conveniently helps feed the eye ALTERNATIVELY l isnt like. a full avatar yet and he doesnt know hes becoming one and he and light are both unaware budding avatars for narrative parallels
alternative comedy version is jon just crashes into the death note plot while hes traveling, says things he should definitely have no knowledge of, talks directly to ryuk, and then leaves with absolutely no explanation because he was too busy with his ongoing mental breakdown of a life while l and light watch in baffled horror
sorry for just like. dropping this all in your inbox youre the only person i know of who knows death note and tma
I love this
I'm picturing Light being fully aware that he's becoming something Other. The leitner note is probably intended to be used once or twice by someone, after which the terrifying consequences of the user's actions come back to kill them in some suitably terrifying way, but Light just. Kills so many people that even the book is like jesus okay I guess it's the avatar route for you then... He'd probably pester Ryuk into giving him all the details and therefore be 100% aware of what he's becoming
After a while, he wouldn't even need the physical death note to kill people. Depending on how his powers manifest, he could just write a name anywhere to kill
L on the other hand, probably wouldn't know what it means that he suddenly doesn't even have to physically look at the camera feeds to know what's going on at the other end. Cue Light, who knows about the fears now and can spot what's happening from a mile away, having to somehow,,, misdirect? A budding avatar of the eye? And keep him from learning about the fears? Because the moment L knows about that, it's game over for Kira
And it would work... up until L gets powerful enough to start compelling the truth out of people

Hey I love how you write Sephiroth so much! I'm rereading ch 6 of not one before another again and I was wondering how you think a Sephiroth time travel fix it would go? Like if the lifestream part of not one before another ended with him getting sent back in time instead? Your pick for when it would be most interesting for him to get sent to
Thank you! An AU of my AU huh?
Hmmmm okay so this version of him is a hot mess in a different way than he usually is, a bit. By the time we see him having his regular zone-outs and semi-reasonable conversation in not one before another he’s had several hours to assemble some equilibrium, point himself in a direction and come to terms with his situation, so it’s a little less obvious, but he’s not okay at all, he’s just Coping. The conviction that Aerith did this for a reason and he just has to figure out his purpose and do it is helping a lot, as is having Avalanche’s reactions to react to.
If you dropped him into his past body instead of his current one, and he wasn’t presented with the immediate opportunities for catharsis of killing Rufus and surrendering to Cloud, he’d be in much worse shape, mentally. The missing pieces of him would be a lot more obvious and upsetting, thrust back into a previous context, and there would be literally no one in existence capable of comprehending his damage. Risk of spiral: high.
As far as the events...if there was no one he particularly cared about in line of sight when he landed, as soon as he figured out what had happened he’d probably just walk. Book it. Offski.
He’s extremely vulnerable to outside influence right now even as he’s more hostile to it than he’s ever been in his life, so who he happened to encounter and what they said would have an enormous impact on events.
Probably the most interesting point to drop him would be shortly after Angeal joined Genesis in deserting. I say this for a few reasons: it’s a point in the timeline when things could still have gone a lot of different ways, but where the die is already cast when it comes to maintaining the previous status quo; it hasn’t been done often; I haven’t done it; and possibly most importantly it’s a time of huge resonance for Sephiroth, when it comes to choices and the opportunity to make them again.
In Crisis Core, he pushed off much of the responsibility for dealing with the desertion situation onto Zack. He thought Zack would do a better job, and didn’t want to deal with it himself, and...his sense of personal agency was extremely minimal. His rebellion against Shinra extended only as far as plausible deniability for not doing things that were expected of him. He was in a fundamentally passive and reactive behavior loop.
Time-traveling psychic-surgery-patient post-Jenova Sephiroth, in contrast, has very few brakes. And a lot more context. He’s gonna go straight to Banora. He’s gonna try to save Angeal. (Dead future Angeal made up for abandoning him with GHOST RESCUE so he’s now very protective.)
He’s gonna mercy-kill so many Copies, fucking up his own mental health even worse in the process. He’s going to rage at Genesis in a way that’s going to make only partial sense to anyone because it will be as much about future actions and externalizing his own self-hatred as about what Genesis in this timeline has already done.
He’s going to confront Gillian and very probably get better and more complete information about the Jenova Project than has ever been managed in canon lmao.
Zack will probably still be on the retrieval/assassination team, although if Shinra knows Sephiroth has gone to the same place as Genesis and thinks all three of them are a cohesive unit, they’re less likely to send him in alone; Sephiroth will be very weird about him and attempt to get him to defect. It probably will not work because Sephiroth is 1) not quite with it and 2) still intense enough to be creepy when pushing a ‘join me’ line, but it will speed up Zack’s disillusionment because Sephiroth will be much more communicative than Angeal was ever willing to be.
I don’t think he’ll happily tolerate being called by his name, even with the time travel meaning that it isn’t externally associated with the person who burned Nibelheim and killed Aerith, which will further bewilder everyone.
Also extremely high odds he will at some stage head down to the slums and kidnap Aerith, possibly with Elmyra along for the ride, at the earliest opportunity, and take her to the Ancient City to keep her away from Shinra. The irony of forcibly relocating her to the place where he killed her to keep her safe will be mostly lost on him. She will notice that he has completely lost his mind since they last met, even if she was five at the time; they will probably not talk about it.
He will probably go kill President Shinra again eventually but it’ll be like his sixth priority, unless the man is in the room with him when he wakes up in the past, allowing him to kick off his desertion in high style.
If you dropped him further back, like in the midst of the war, he’d probably defect to Wutai and take as much of SOLDIER with him as he could manage, out of sheer spite.

I /love/ the atla fic!! it's so fun how he starts out stressed (with good reason!) and then just forgets it because they're asking him about things that he's really invested in!! god his position must have been so stressful considering the absolute chaos that was zukos part in events i hadn't even thought about that
;lkjdf thank you! 💖🌹
😂 yeah, you look at the way Zuko’s character was handled in the Ember Island Players’ show (which ends with their whole cast dead and the world on fire HAPPY ENDING NATIONALISM YAY) and at some point when i stepped past its meta and looked at it as an in-universe theatrical production i started thinking about how awkward this must have been to produce because like
Zuko’s the obvious Fire Nation self-insert central figure, right? like the White Main Guy in a hollywood blockbuster. and while he was banished and then also branded a traitor for a lot of the research period, a few months go by between the end of Season 2 when Zuko goes home and the Day of Black Sun, months in which he’s in high public esteem for succeeding at his impossible quest and upholding the honor of the nation and all that.
and that’s the period in which the script would have been finalized and rehearsals started. so the dude-with-the-scar-on-the-wrong-side was presumably cast as the heroic leading man. there was probably a lot of calculated flattery in there! aang’s character probably had more non-comedic scenes to build him up as a Serious Threat that was Defeated!
and then not only does aang turn out not to have died at all, zuko fucking books after blowing up his father’s emergency bunker with his own lightning, and his character can’t be the hero anymore! 😂😂😂
i started laughing so hard when i first put this timeline together and started imagining the thespian shitfit this turn of events probably induced.
(the fact that in a country as propaganda-conscious as Ozai’s Fire Nation and where the government had such a stranglehold on public expression of pretty much anything, Zuko and Aang cosplays were considered safe and acceptable activities for children even as the actual in-play characters had to be instructively killed off is also worthy of deep meditation, even though i don’t think that much thought went into it on a doylist level lmao)

god i am OBSESSED with the idea of future sephiroth confronting gillian. does he already know she committed suicide when confronted by angeal and tries to plan around it or does he just. notice theres poison in her tea and. set it on fire or something. i have to admit i really enjoy sephiroths opinion on gillian in angels.
OH WOW this is a lot. Lol okay, I’m gonna put all these asks in one rather than stringing them out.
I’m not sure Sephiroth knows any details about what happened with Gillian, but he read the report where Zack presumably wrote down something about how Angeal seemed to have killed his own mom, and he got a sort of follow-up impression later from Angeal’s ghost on the general subject of suicide, so he knows what she did, very generally, and when, and what the fallout was.
I think this version of him is even more annoyed with her than he is in Angels in fact, because he knows for a fact her choice heavily influenced Angeal’s, so he’s going to tear into her about responsibility and abandonment and influence and stuff.
XD Probably going to get his own issues all over that one, too. Sephiroth...doesn’t compartmentalize well outside of his basic system of ‘all the feelings go in this box which I intend to leave closed and then someday die,’ which as we all know didn’t work out.
(I feel bad about Gillian in Angels, I totally had an opportunity to unfridge her and stuck her right back in the coldbox because I didn’t want to deal with her impact on the narrative beyond the established impact of fucking Angeal up worse, which I wanted to explore.)
ALSO elmyra is more put together right? like shes a functioning person? because i feel like her perspective on sephiroth and aerith stubbornly Not Acknowledging whatever the hell is going on would be really funny. at this rate im going to have to go hunt down playthroughs of ffvii and crisis core so i can write fanfic. i mean technically i could just write fanfic but it feels weird writing fic without having interacted with the source material at all
Elmyra is a functioning adult yes but she is also very long in the habit of not prying into Aerith’s Weird. I honestly cannot guess what she’d do in that situation, we don’t see enough of her! I’d have to make it up.
...I feel like it’s likely being forcibly recontextualized would be likely to break her and Aerith out of their pattern of pretending nothing’s going on, since presumably Elmyra wasn’t in the habit of telling people a fraction as much about Aerith’s backstory as she unloads onto the party after her kid gets kidnapped by Turks.
And lmao I mean yes you can write fic based entirely on fic, this is a fandom where it’s pretty common, even. Personally I couldn’t bear to, I just didn’t feel I had a sufficient grasp. And I was right! The fandom incarnations are lacking. Once I had played through the OG I had so much more to say, and vastly more nuanced grasp of character.
Personally also I cannot endure game playthroughs? I get awful brain static trying. The pacing. The experience of being confronted with a UI that says I’m in control, but not having it. I die. But for people who enjoy them they should work fine!
Also last I checked the original FFVII was available on Steam for like $20? You could probably play it.
ALSO ALSO because my brain is a disaster of random connections i keep picturing an au of angels wherein both angeal and sephiroth have traveled back in time but they dont realize immediately that the other one is also back in time. because! i dont have any context or anything but if they ended up having the whole what would you want me to do if you went insane and tried to destroy the world conversation it would be hilarious. sephiroth, having every single mental breakdown imaginable: uh
Hahaha AU crossing over one of my time travel AUs with the AU of my AU you previously proposed! Hmmmm yeah. I feel like they’d notice something was off before too long? But they might get to a version of the ‘what would you want me to do’ conversation lmao.
I think this Sephiroth would honestly give very intense and detailed instructions on how to shut him down and only then be like ‘why do you ask? what do you know.’
...if Angeal explained his timeline all the way up through Advent Children and DoC,  this version of Sephiroth would not take it well. 😞
also now im back around to thinking about angels and zack was first class when genesis started degrading so that's probably a ways off right? unless they find a way to avoid it entirely but. at least he'll be a bit less desperate when he defects? if he defects i guess but he's too dramatic to not defect. whats he supposed to do let angeal be the dramatic one?? also ALSO if angeal and sephiroth both traveled back in time i think that would make genesis the most stable member of their group. wild.
He was Second Class, actually! He’d been recommended for promotion but it hadn’t gone through. They ultimately moved him up to First for killing Angeal, if you can believe it. Ghoulish, huh?
Well, technically they mostly promoted him for killing Genesis, who was much more of a threat. But Genesis faked his death and Angeal didn’t, and it wasn’t not for killing Angeal. It was all the same mission. I have no idea how Zack copes so well.
But yeah, the officially released timeline for CC claims Angeal &co are only about four years older than Zack, but the timeframes presented in the actual games suggest Sephiroth should have died around age 25, which is far enough from 21 to make a difference, and fits their character designs better. So I’m treating them as being about eight years older, with Genesis as the oldest, so Angeal has about three and a half years to work with before degradation originally kicked in.
But the trigger for that wasn’t necessarily a certain amount of time, so he can’t count on that schedule.
What Angeal does have is a Lifestream-side perspective on how Genesis got healed the first time around, so he knows to focus on the spiritual end of things over Science, which he knows failed to help, and this ups his odds of doing something useful in a useful amount of time considerably.
XD Too dramatic not to defect. Well.
also back to the time travel au what would tseng even do about sephiroth kidnapping aerith?? like he was the main one watching her right?? hes just hanging out and then sephiroth??? oh now hes got aerith??? what is he doing??? whats tseng even supposed to do in that situation
I don’t believe they have the manpower to keep up a constant guard? Tseng certainly does do other things, they just. Check in on her sometimes.
I don’t think it was ever truly clarified in canon whether Tseng was covering for Aerith somehow all those years, finding some weird wiggle room in the phrasing of his orders so he could put off admitting he’d found her or taking her in indefinitely so long as he didn’t lose track of her and let her get away, or if Hojo knew where she was and was just like ‘whatever, I don’t need her back right now, just keep an eye on my specimen and make sure she doesn’t die or escape.’
So it’s hard to know what he would do when we don’t 100% know what his reasoning was for the things he already did, or what kind of oversight he’s dealing with! Tseng is a difficult character for that reason.
-
Also while I do like getting asks, you should feel free to mix the contact approach up a bit when you have this much to say! This was a lot of content for this format. 😂 Tumblr chat IMs still mostly work, and there’s a link to my Discord server from my author page on AO3, where we’d love to have you. (It was proposed for people to talk about my fic, but much more often we wind up talking ffvii meta lmao. This is like...the midpoint of those two subjects so.)

NEW NOT ONE BEFORE ANOTHER!! IM ONLY LIKE A THIRD OF THE WAY THROUGH BUT ITS SO GOOD!! I LOVE HOW YOU WRITE SEPHIROTH IN EACH OF THESE STORIES YOUVE MADE HIM ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS IN GENERAL
😄😄😄😘🥰 Awwww this feedback! Is so great!!!! Thank youuuuuuuu. lskdfa;lsj stopping to tell me it’s good before finishing it i’m. i appreciate.
(this is the fic)
XD It’s funny that I make him so likeable because...I’m often highly fed up with Sephiroth, like, as a figure. He is one of those smug villains I just want to slap across the face a lot of times. He’s awful. 😆
But the original game included, mostly toward the beginning when they were still faking us out about his agenda and if he was now an anti-Shinra terrorist too (which technically yes BUT) a lot of material meant to give the impression that he’d been worth something, or had potential to be, before becoming what he did. That whatever choice he made in response to the mix of fact and falsehood and his own warped feelings, it was a waste of him as well as a horror in the actions taken.
‘You’re not the Sephiroth I know’ and all that, suggesting a different, better Sephiroth having gone away. An extra fillip of tragedy on the general tragic tone of the story.
And then Crisis Core doubled down on that by literally being structurally a tragedy, one in which Sephiroth is a mostly passive and extraordinarily relatable supporting cast member, right up until he has the complete mental breakdown that literally everyone playing already knew about, so they could foreshadow it to hell and back.
And the thing about Sephiroth-as-villain is that an enormous portion of the story revolves around the making of him, between the mad science and the breakdown. But canon never fully committed to developing that because he’s...the bad guy, relevant and appropriate, thank you. But, you know. Free real estate!
And the corporate-culture systemic abuse themes have been appallingly neglected by the Compilation so...even more free real estate! With pre-dug foundations! Sephiroth makes an amazing vehicle for examining how capitalism is terrible because he’s already basically a one-man microcosm of the relationship the corporate feudalist powers want to have with everyone and everything.
Sephiroth is a creature made and owned who went absolutely fucking feral about it in an astoundingly non-constructive way, and I find the many steps of that process extremely fascinating.
XD You did not strictly speaking ask, but that’s my take.
ive reached the end and theres MORE? holy shit i would die what's there is so incredible
l;kfajdkl thank you! that’s seriously so affirming, i have rewritten especially the beginning of this damn thing so many times so i’m fairly confident in the prose, but i posted it pretty willy-nilly on someone’s encouragement so while it cuts off at a workable place idk that I’m happy with it as an ending to that fic/collection; i think i cut off too soon and it lacks the feeling of resolution i wanted, and the comments i got generally bear that out.
i’m going to keep that in mind for the future. i could have done that better. though i suppose sub-optimal is better than never!
anyway i will try not to be discouraged, and go ahead and post the rest of the AU! i appreciate your support, as ever. 💖💖💖😭

indeed, my circular fruit bird friend! 💗 he haunts me.
his name in the draft is now mifan, For My Sanity and because the joke was glumshoe’s and it wouldn’t be good form to keep using it even if i wanted to.
he is predictably pretty snappily dressed but also he never throws anything away so i get to make asides about the history of fashion in this setting, and how it’s been influenced by being ruled by the same exact very petty people for over a hundred years.

what does te ne mori faciamus mean? I can find definitions for ne me mori facias from sephiroths theme but I'm having trouble getting a translation for this that makes sense. My guess is something to the effect of we will not let you die? I've been wondering this since I first read the fic but I only just realized I could ask you
a;lkfask;dlf jthat’s my attempt at Latin yeah. i’m not surprised it’s not right! because i...honestly didn’t even try. to make it correct. i just messed with the pronouns in that bit of one-winged angel, had a giggle, and moved on.
i’m...weirdly very proud right now because not only did i knowingly let myself be that sloppy in public, you’ve caught me having done so and i’m not even freaking out! this is probably a mental health milestone lmao.
but yeah the point was it’s the one where the order of events i set up means Sephiroth and Angeal are going to raise hell trying to save their friend.
i actually thought of that fic as being mostly drama and fluff, and only after several people commented on the inherent tragedy of the blood-brothers biocontamination causing a sixteen year old to develop a terminal disease did i notice that yes, in fact, there’s significant angst there. it’s just that compared to the pointless destruction and intense isolation of the tragedy set up in canon, this seemed so much nicer....

Is there a reason -or names are considered ill-omened in tower of sight? Also if you want to keep the guys name as one syllable you could change it to Dar or something
Well, the Doylist reason is that’s the justification I came up with when I was 12 or 13 for Taylor having to change his name! 😂 That was an important part of the vibe to me at the time, and you know it’s still got good aesthetic and thematic value, so I’m keeping it.
I don’t recall if I mentioned that my approach for this worldbuilding challenge was to pick up a story concept I shelved as a child? But that is what I did. I liked the framing conceit but it needed an actual plot and a lot of worldbuilding to really function past that initial conceit, and I neither had the necessary skills at the time nor the will to put in that much work just to justify the hook.
So there are still a few scraps of Idea About The Setting floating around from sixth grade, and that’s one of them!
I haven’t come up with any in-universe justification for the Bad Vibes yet, although it would probably be good to find one. I don’t actually want to use Tharin Yl Whatever and his death by meteor. That’d be weak stuff lol.

11 for top guide or angels still have faces? Or the till-then and this is where I cut myself off so I don't just list all of your fics but if you want to answer this for another one just know that I'd be happy with that too
laks;dfjkl awww hey you! 💖 continuing your enabling ways by encouraging me to talk up my own fics huh?
11 is ‘what do I like best?’
My favorite part of Top Guide is...probably still the effect Tifa is having on Zack, honestly. There’s a reason he was the first major character I had her speak to when the fic was starting out, and I continue to enjoy the heck out of the collision of Tifa’s entire vibe with the tone of Zack’s game.
Which was a tragedy papered over with a determined positive attitude and avoidance, for the sake of continuing to function within corporate dystopia, giving it a whole extra metatextual level of social commentary that was I think only kind of on purpose, and which contrasts delightfully with Tifa’s brutally pragmatic anarchist optimism.
She’s just like I WILL FLING MYSELF AT PROBLEMS AS A COPING MECHANISM AND MAYBE IT WILL WORK and Zack’s like but my coping mechanism is Not Thinking About It, help.
-
My favorite part of Angels Still Have Faces is stranded between how much I enjoy just...having Angeal as a main character and recontextualizing him hard enough to make him seriously reexamine and break out of the assumptions that killed him, and how funny Sephiroth’s point of view is, as he has no idea what is going on at any point and keeps trying to operate productively in the friendship sphere despite having neither much natural empathy or any social skills to speak of. 😆
-
My favorite part of Till-Then...hm. I feel like if I manage to answer this in full accuracy, it will improve my ability to actually finish it. Let me think. o( ̄▽ ̄)d
...I think honestly it’s the process of bringing people face to face with their selves from another point in time, and making them interrogate their own self-definitions.
I really enjoy a lot of other parts of it, but my favorite really is every time someone has to go on some level, ‘well, if that’s me, but also very definitely not me, what am I using to make that distinction? who am i exactly?’
Hmmmmm it seems i am enthused by ‘tricking characters into introspection’ and ‘when people bring out hidden aspects of one another’ skdfaj;sklf that’s so pretentious i’m

stu for the letters ask game?
THIS IS MY THIRD TIME COMPOSING THIS I HATE TECHNOLOGY
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
you got scooped on this one lmao! see previous ask
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
ugh i hate that thing where a character who needs therapy gets it, but it’s in a setting that’s very much Not Present-Day Earth and yet the therapy is structured the exact fucking same with all the same ideas about what constitutes health and what is a therapeutic environment and how do brains work and all of that
(except usually like .5 degrees More Enlightened because there are fewer shitty therapists)
like sometimes that’s just crappy worldbuilding for a bit or whatever, fine, but a lot of the time it quickly turns out to be some extreme cultural-imperialist bullshit dressed up in nice clothes
i have a major-league bee in my hat about when people are so completely sure that their immediate cultural framework is the height of all virtue and truth that they will pour immense effort into debunking a fictional society’s values through a sockpuppet whom they have inserted into that society in the apparent sincere conviction that normal people are always like them really and that Actually Good People will always agree about everything that matters, and if you don’t you’re broken or bad
the pathologization of difference ugh ugh ugh
this answer was a lot longer the last two times but i feel like i’ve basically conveyed the gist. obviously this happens more in scifi than fantasy because people have different preconceptions.
U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
OH NO FAVORITES. i’m so bad at favorites seriously i couldn’t muster a favorite color until my late teens.
hmmmm picking almost at random--i have enough faith in Asuka Kureru’s writing that i will attempt to read any of their fics that doesn’t have any squicks of mine clearly indicated in tags or summary even if it does look boring or not pleasant, so that’s a sign of being in the favorites zone...
...and i’m gonna shout out to a buddy i love Grey_Days’ (@metatextuality) writing a lot because it’s just really good even if approximately 40% of it also murders me personally in terms of content. the descriptions are good and things are thought-through and all the jokes land, especially the dorky ones.
okay three is a freebie right um. nope can’t do it make do with two.

you said you're reading what belongs to the sea? could you maybe tell me more specifically how bad the cannibalism tag is because that sort of stuff really squicks me out but the fic looks really interesting and cool and I've been thinking about trying to read it
So as a selkie in this fic, Jon has to eat human meat pretty regularly to maintain his human form. But so far (I’m caught up, but it’s an ongoing fic) the text is always along the lines of “he drowns and eats a guy” or “Elias cooks a meal for him but the meat is human meat.” Nothing more graphic than that
The one potential Bad Time I can see is that in chapter 27, we find out where the meat has been coming from and it is kinda upsetting. I’ll put it under a read more since it’s kind of a spoiler
The MAIN triggering thing about this fic is the stockholm syndrome and related abuse tactics. It’s a lot
Okay I’m gonna try to be detailed enough to give you a clear idea but not detailed enough to squick you too much. In chapter 27, Martin finds Gertrude’s body like in canon, but someone (Elias) has clearly taken pieces of it. The majority of the meat Jon has been eating has been from Gertrude
