though she's gotten a lot better, sometimes agatha still has her bad days where she struggles to get out of bed in the morning. on those days, meepho is her rock. she's the one that reminds her that her days won't always be so bad and that, even when all seems dark, the dark clouds will dissipate and the sun will shine again. thank the gods for meepho.
agatha smiles lovingly at her after the much needed shower of affection, her hands coming up to rest over meepho's. what would she do without her? it's not something she ever really wants to think about. the second saturday morning of every month is spent in the crowded greenroom of a small recital hall, jammed in with half a dozen or so other kids. though all are theoretically as talented as you, each of you is engrained with a competitive streak, && it's blindingly clear who is going to make it as a professional, && who isn't.
even at the ripe old age of seventeen.
it's become something of a ritual for you both — you && danny — to sit out in the hall until it's time to go onstage, prepping the other for performance in the way only you know how. you stay there until the stage manager, looking cross as ever, pokes their head through the doorway and calls out you're on deck! then you both stand, && walk out together: one to play, the other to accompany.
usually, you just warm up or talk through the repertoire one final time — or sit quietly in each other's calming presence. he's the one to break the silence first, && you look up from your methodical tuning mid-way through, brow furrowed.
" we’re friends, right? are we friends? " ( @pre1ude )
it's an odd question, but you have an odd relationship. still, you don't hesitate to answer, even if the reply is less than definitive. "i think so."
after all, what else would you call this? almost ten years worth of saturday mornings, && even if you've shared very little of your lives outside these halls, that has to count for something, right?
so you go on, voicing the other concern that's been on your mind for the last couple of weeks. "...i got accepted, by the way. to continue with my bfa here next year." you look back down at the instrument in your hands, && from the expression on your face, one might think you'd never held a violin in your life. your fingers tighten around the neck. "...no more pre-college...! what are you doing next year?" a small laugh, almost self-deprecating. "it'll be weird, not having you here."
