So there's science I kind of completely bullshit because I just kind of stole the language from some studies I'm familiar with and probably a very shitty replica of how the British actually store archaeological material but I got so caught up in details I couldn't get it finished so it's thoroughly bullshit! Archival Description of Burial A452 and A453 of Red Sail Hall Site

Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art

Though further exploration into the site is certainly precluded by the sealing of the original site by the private owners, the four-month trial period of archaeological work on property associated with Red Sail Hall has proven themselves to be incredibly fruitful. Please review the following in-situ finds of particular significance. Of a group of 34 burials immediately south of the gardens of Red Sail Hall, the burial of an adolescent male, an extraordinary 187 centimeters is of special note. In an abutting grave was a second male inhumation, was found that of a child perhaps aged 12 standing at 134 centimeters.

The elder male was a person of obvious importance, apparently having met his end in battle or some other violent means. Likely incapacitated by a blow to the head as suggested by lacerations to the skull, the elder was then dispatched by sword cut. When measured, the damage to the vertebrae suggests the femoral artery would have most certainly been severed. The burial is in truly pagan fashion. On a silver ring around his neck was a silver Thor’s hammer between two red glass beads. A leather belt around the waist had been secured with a belt and bronze buckle with a fleece lined iron scabbard with an impressive tri-bloom pommel in classic Norse fashion. By the sword hilt there was a folding iron knife, a fixed knife with a wooden handle and halfway down the thigh was found three iron keys.

The skeleton in the abutting grave was tentatively Christian and of much poorer origin. A lead figure on a leather cord around the neck suggests Anglo-Saxon Christianity. An iron seax at the waist was of Cumbrian origin but the iron fittings of a leather quiver with bow and arrows inside found deposited at the left hand were of clearly Welsh origin. No other grave goods were found, but pollen deposites would suggest the presence of Michaelmas Daisies and Autumnal Crocus, suggesting a harvest-time burial.

Would recommend both graves for sampling and dental isotope analysis. Low-humidity storage recommended.

Oxygen Isotopes Conclusive Report of Paired Samples A452 and A453

Red Sail Hall Sample A452

Based on a framework of radiocarbon dates, the studied inhumation grave of Red Sail Hall Sample A452 upon analysis of radiocarbon determination and isotope ratio mass spectroscopy reveal an observed dietary variation of game protein intake with high amounts cereal grains primarily wheat. Noted markers of deprivation at aged 15-16 are seen. This finding is consistent with an origin of the Danish mainland of the 150-50 BCE.

Red Sail HAll Sample 453

Sample of nebulous value. Sample noted to be from a child with pre-adolescent degrading of sample in-situ. Whilst there is no clear pattern of isotopic offsets between skeletal elements, the sole first molar analyzed shows a high degree of isotopic enrichment for both δ13C and δ15N. As the first molar forms during infancy, a conclusion of high status, high protein diet can be drawn. The second sample however, suggests marked poverty and high cereal and plant based diet. This finding is consistent with an incongruous origin of the samples labeling suggesting instead the British Isles, most likely Cumbria, 1st Century CE

Nah I tried making them round bc they're just leaves :)) He himself won't hurt Masaru, Chika, or Sayuri; if his kids end up in situations that are dangerous, he would only intervene if it was absolutely dire, because those are their actions and choices. But he himself won't be harmful; he's a god, he can restrain Masaru without causing him harm.

Corrupted Royal Knights AU

So this is basically all of the character designs I did for this AU. Now I’m specifically saying my designs since there was more than one person working on this AU that started in Twitter back in October 2020. While I would say I was the more active in doing art or even writing information for this AU I am not the sole owner of it nor the one who started it. This was a collaborative effort and I want to make sure that fact is never lost. While there is definitely going to be some redesigns;updates; or even rewriting on parts of the background for the characters, also in general the story. I am still happy on how these all turned out (only Crania got real update to his design atm but it was just because I wasn’t satisfied with his lower half look)

One last thing I want to share is that the final reference sheet shown here is that of the Reborn Knights. As in the Epilogue of the AU all of the Knights who were defeated end up being reborn, with Yggdrasil’s virus having some lasting effects on their data.

Ok, for a long long time I've been wanting to draw the map of realms from my AU and this drawing took me so long to finish that I dropped it halfway through BUT I finally picked it up again and finished!!! I present to you: 

Yggdrasil and its realms

In my AU, there are 14 known realms and among them, we have:

Sólmani, the realm of Sun and Moon and the kingdom of Dellingr, deity of day/night;

Viðbláinn, the new place for the remaining humans and gods after Ragnarök;

Andlangr, the “bunker” for all humans when Ragnarök happens;

Asgard, realm of the Æsir gods. Here we have Valhalla, Valaskjálf and Hliðskjálf, Þrúðvangr and Bilskirnir, Fensalir AKA Sökkvabekkr, Breiðablik, Glitnir, Himinbjörg, Belivalr mountain and Ýdalir, Iðavöllr and Glaðsheimr and Vingólf, Hvergelmir river, Lanvidi, Nóatún, Hildarvangr.

Vanaheim of the Vanir gods. A place full of magic and where the first witches came. Here you can find Fólkvangr and Sessrúmnir just to name a few. It’s the place of rest of a giant who fell in the hands of Lilith, turning into Vanaheim upon his death. The Ylgr river flows through Vanaheim and bathes the giant skeleton of the realm.

Midgard is Earth, where most of “Hilda and The Allmother” characters came from. Among thousands upon thousands of known places, few stand out. They are: Trolberg, Toføten, Vanæsvalr AKA Hexental, Gnipahellir, Húnaland, Hreiðgotaland, Gästrikland, Bjarmaland, mountain Rerir, mountain Hár, mountain Halldór, Munnin’s peak, Járnviðr forest, Myrkviðr forest, Nótt forest, Huldraforest, Steinnharr and Jötunnstone, Björgfjord and Björd lake and Liten, the ruins of Whiteridge castle, Byrstrfossen, Towe's tower, the Highwood, Philosopher's Watch, The Signalhan's barrow, Possegrim, Fjörm, Fimbulþul and Sylgr triplet rivers just to name a few.

Jötunheim, the realm of giants of old. Hnitbjörg, Útgarðar, Fjällenótt, Þrymheimr, Vimur AKA Við and Hríð river are few of the most famous locations on the realm. When the giants left Midgard, they went to Jötunnheim.

Muspelheim, is the realm of fire and magma and where Surtr lives. Vígríðr and Eldrhellir are two of the most famous places of the realm. The river of molten metal, Leiptr, flows through Muspelheim and leads to Svartalfheim, where the dwarves can use the metal to forge.

Helheim is the realm of the dead and where the ship of the dead Naglfari sails. Niflheim is located here and the entrance to Niflheim. The Gjöll river cuts the land of the living from the land of the dead and where the Gjallarbrú bridge stands above, protected by Angrboða and Garmr. There’s another river, the Sliðr and lastly, the Svöl river from where the Náströnd is born. The Éljúðnir hall, home of Helgeisten and his daughters is the last known place.

Ránarheim is the realm of the drowned. This is where all drown people go to rest and the kingdom of Rán. Hríð rive from Jötunnheim leads to this realm. Gunnþrá is the second river from where the drown can use to go to Ránarheim.

Gefheim, the immense fields where Gef uses to plow the dirt with her oxen children. All of those who died virgin go to Gefheim to become he oxen. She’s the responsible for rowing giants portions of land for humans to settle. The river that flows through Gefheim and nourishes all plants and gardens is Vimur river, that flows through Jötunheim

Svartalfheim is the second darkest realm to live. There you will find the dwarves, where they can mine from the caves to forge all of their itens. It’s connects Niflheim to Muspelheim by a hidden entrance. Its most famous kingdom is Niðavellir and where the molten metal river Leiptr ends.

Niflheim, the realm of mist and darkness and the prison of Lilith and Níðhöggr, alongside other monstrous dragons who gnaws on the roots of Yggdrasil. There, móðguðr and the three nornir Valkyries Skuld, Svipul AKA Urðr and Verðandi fight with the dragons. There you will find the Náströnd river, the Mímisbrunnr, Urðarbrunnr and Hvergelmir wells protected by the nornir and Níðhöggr’s lair: Niðafjöll.

At last, Ginnungagap, where Yggdrasail and Svartrfligr, “the eternal black” live. A neverending space that leads to nowhere and from where the Éligávar river was born. Frozen by Niflheim’s coldness and evaporated by Muspelheim heat, all life began at this river and this river runs through all of Yggdrasil, flooding the realms with life. From Éligávar, tons of rives flow, among them we have: Hvergelmir, Sliðr, Vimur, Ylgr, Hríð, Gunnþrá, Fjörm, Fimbulþul, Sylgr, Leiptr, Svöl.

With a low grunt, you stepped on the little ladder, in order to reach the top shelf, in which the Avengers had stowed away the Pop-Tarts. They had to hide them away. Unless Thor would've eaten all of them - and he wasn't the only one who liked the sweet treat. You did, too, for example.

Unfortunately, was the mission ahead no easy one for you - at least at the moment, with being almost eight months pregnant... This far along in the pregnancy was almost everything a difficult task.

"Uhh, getting Pop-Tarts, babe... We ran out of them and, uh, I desperately wanted some, and I know where Tony hides them, so..." Loki helped you step down from the ladder; his strong grip not ceasing. Once your feet touched solid ground again, you turned to face him. "So, you decide to climb a ladder in order to get some?!" "Uhh, yeah?" Troubled blue eyes were looking down at you. The expression on his face told him that he didn't like this at all.

Taking the next two steps with a grunt, your hand was finally able to reach the top shelf. You let out a victorious giggle and grabbed the Pop-Tarts you craved - chocolate and strawberry.

Just when you wanted to take a step back again, in order to get off the small ladder, you suddenly felt two very strong hands gripping your hips. "What by the holy roots of Yggdrasil are you doing, love?!" It was your husband, of course. The pitch of his voice told you, that he was not amused... And worried.

Your lover took a deep breath to calm his nerves. "Darling... This is dangerous..." He started; both his palms wandering from your hips to the swell of your stomach. "You can't just climb a ladder, being so heavily pregnant... You could've fallen! I was just down the hall. You could've asked me - or hence, even him to help you!" Loki turned to nod at Bucky, who sat quietly on one of the bar stools; eating chocolate pudding. He didn't want to just interfere in your argument, so he kept his mouth shut and played 'Subway Surfers' on his mobile. But when Loki called him out, he lifted his head to face the 'fighting' couple. The god looked at him with a rather mean gaze, while you had an apologetic expression on your face; mouthing 'Sorry, Buck.'

Bucky immediately lifted his hands in surrender. "Hey, don't put this on me, man. I tried to help her, but she told me she was fine, so I accepted her decision." Your husband turned back around to you. "Y/N!" "I'm sorry, babe! But I wanted to make this on my own. I am not sick, just pregnant." Loki sighed; "I know that, love, and I can understand it as well - but..." his hands found your baby bump once more. "I just want you two to be safe. Next time you're craving Pop-Tarts, please tell me. I'll get them for you, yes?" You nodded; getting his point. "Yes." Loki smiled, "Good girl." and leaned forward to peck your lips. "Now, is there something else my beautiful wife is craving, beside Pop-Tarts?"

Believe it or not, but the god loved to give you any kind of massages you desired. He loved the feeling of your skin underneath his palms and fingertips, and the fact that he was able to ease up a lot of your pains. Those magically hands of his, were always able to make you feel good. In more than just one way.

Your cheeks turned slightly red because of Loki's flattering words, as you thought for a moment, then smiled; biting your lip. "Foot rubs?" Loki nodded; smiling brightly as well. "Foot rubs it is."

"Lay down, my queen and I shall give you what you desire." Loki guided you towards the sofa and even helped you lay down. He stacked up another pillow behind your back to make sure that you were comfortable. "Is this to yours and our child's liking?" You giggled like a school girl, nodding. "It is, Lokes. Thank you." "Perfect." The god moved down to your feet then; placed them on his lap. Gently taking off your socks, he started to massage your swollen, hurting feet. Not even a minute had passed, when the first satisfied and utterly relieved moan slipped past your lips. Loki just chuckled and lifted his head to meet your gaze. "Does that feel good, love?" "Heavenly..."

He continued to massage your feet for a while, before he moved up to work the muscles of your calves. After making sure that he gave them enough attention, he went to slip your maternity shorts easily up, bending one leg after the other and massaged your thighs. "Baaabe..." You grunted in satisfaction. "You are so good at this. Have you ever considered to work as a masseur? Those hands are magical - literally. Please don't stop." You pouted; looking down at him. Loki just chuckled once more and shook his head. "I do not intend to stop, darling." Of course, the god was utterly tempted to let his hands travel even further up, but he didn't, because he wanted to help your muscles relax and to give them - you, a break.

"Want me to give your back a massage as well?" "If you'd be willing to do that..." You stated; smiling sheepishly. Loki's lips twitched into another smile. "Turn around, sweet girl." You giggled and did what he said; turned on your side. "As your husband and father of this little wonder you're growing, it is my duty to do everything possible, that makes you feel good - which includes countless foot rubs and massages."

"Don't go..." You mumbled. "Stay." Loki's heart skipped a beat at your words - like so often. "Shall I join you?" A sleepy smile crossed your soft facial features. "Please..." He gave your hand a squeeze, "Alright." and let go of it, in order to lay down beside you. The god didn't slip underneath the blanket, but grabbed a pillow and slid down, until he was face to face with your bump. Pressing a lingering kiss on the roundness which was his child, he wrapped an arm around your hip and hugged you - or well, rather your baby close. You smiled at this gesture. It was something Loki loved to do.

Loki gently lifted your t-shirt, "The small of your back again?" "Uh.Huh." and started to do his good work. "Hips too, darling?" "Yep." "Alright." His hands gently kneaded the muscles and skin of your lower back first, before he moved further to your hips. Loki massaged your left hip first, then the right.

By the end of his soothing and much-needed massage, you were totally relaxed; your sore muscles eased. Hence, you were on the verge of sleeping in - what didn't slip Loki's notice, of course. You didn't even realise, how he stood up and draped a blanket over your body. Only when you felt his cool lips pressing against your forehead did your sleepy brain react. "Take a nap, my love. Rest a bit." Before he could walk away, you reached out your arm and grabbed one of his large hands.

You buried your hands in his long, wild raven curls; massaging his scalp gently. A satisfying groan rumbled through his chest, as he buried his face in the fabric of the blanket, which covered your bump.

Sometimes, words weren't needed and a gesture was all it took. That was such a moment. With your heart filled with love and adoration, you watched the love of your life cuddle with your unborn baby and slowly drifted off to sleep.

THIS. TOOK. FOREVER.

Introducing my take on the Nightmare of this Superhero AU. This story and Nightmare’s design(s) are highly inspired by Spiderman villains, Resident Evil, and The Last of Us! Thanks to @thenocturnenarrator for helping me with this! Superhero AU belongs to @thelunarsystemwrites!

This turned out so much more gruesome and complex than I expected, so VISUAL AND DESCRIPTIVE CW for the following;

Lab Experimentation (Might be considered child experimentation), Body Horror involving mushrooms growing out of the body, Gore, Blood, Insects, Vomiting, and potentially heavy subjects that not all viewers may like.

Backstory

Meet Nightmare “Nyx” Yggdrasil, a 12-13 year old who was kidnapped and experimented on alongside his brother Dream. At the time, he was only able to talk to plants and comprehend how they felt, but that was going to change very soon. The scientists wanted to enhance the powers of the soul’s magic, creating a serum that could do so but was incapable of working on Nightmare’s current state. His “soul” couldn’t be classified as one, seeing as it was more of a purple fireball of pure negative energy, so they needed a way to make it something tangible and experimental. They eventually gain the idea to have the brothers eat a Gold Apple from their home world so their “souls” can merge with the apples and therefore be alterable. While Dream’s process goes fine, Nightmare’s Apple obviously rots, but he’s still forced to eat it, and soon after so he’s injected with the enhancing serum. This not only enhances his ability to talk to plants to being able to control them and connect with them on a higher level, but it enhances the magic and power of the Black Apple, causing black goop to begin tearing out of Nightmare’s body. To prevent his body from literally ripping itself apart from the inside, Nightmare controls the plants around him to seal himself away into a large, cocoon-like growth. A few months pass after Dream escapes the lab with CORE FRISK, and the cocoon breaks open.

The fungi and other plant life had merged with his body. Nightmare was still mostly mentally there, but the cordyceps merging with most of his body was taking tolls on his brain and making him go a little crazy, not to mention the pent up vengeance and wrath he was feeling. Naturally, he slaughtered everyone in the laboratory and fled to the same place Dream and various other superheroes found themselves in. Craving any sort of comfort and affection, he forced together a team of supervillains including Dust, Horror, Killer, and maybe other willing characters. He’s convinced everyone including himself that he assembled the group for personal revenges on the world and to show everyone that they’ll be more than just tools, as well as general instinct telling him to feed off people’s suffering and all that.

But deep down, it’s just because he doesn’t want to be alone with nothing. Never again after all of the suffering he felt growing up in the laboratory…

If a skeleton is spore-infested, they must wash out their skeletal system and clear all spores before the spores begin growing inside of the body and through the eye sockets and bones. The fungi that grow from these spores feed off a person’s negative energy and soul magic, slowly draining them and turning them into an emotionless husk, eventually killing them and leaving behind a visceral mess of flesh and flora. Humans and non-skeletal Monsters require more advanced surgical procedures to remove spores and fungi, and have far lower chances of surviving the infection.

Insect Attraction (The foul stench that Nightmare gives off usually attracts flies, maggots, worms, caterpillars, ETC to feed on and live in parts of his body. This also means it’s not just chunks of moss and goop he’s throwing up…)

Nauseation and Headaches (Nightmare smells like rotting flesh and mushrooms, and the scent is very potent)

One drastic difference involving this Nightmare from the original personality-wise is that Passive Nightmare is still in-tact. He's not dead in this AU, he's just been driven a little mad by vengeance and his own fungus. The apple he had consumed WASN'T the one that was possessed by the human that killed Nim; It was a Gold Apple he turned rotten, meaning he'd have more of his conscious than the main universe's Nightmare

Furthermore, he's also more of a liar and willing to bend the truth, such as when he lies to himself and others about the true reasons as to why he formed a team

Nightmare doesn’t leave his team to fight alone; he comes along with them every chance he gets to, even if it seems like a bad idea towards the others

When Nightmare realizes who Dream is, he’s hellbent on killing him and everyone that he has bonds and friendships with. He believes Dream had abandoned him and wishes to exact the same suffering he had to go through. It’s that Spiderverse-Miles-And-Spot “They turned you into a lovable hero, but I was turned into THIS.” dynamic we all know and love. Nightmare’s also very envious of his brother due to the fact he got to live a better, more fulfilling life than he did

I also just love drawing Suguru bc he hansomeee hehehe But here's my own spin bc u know me by now anon :3 His reasoning for finally peeking at the human world is likely that the barriers are thinning and digimon are starting to spill into the human world, and Yggdrasil wants to experience and see humanity before making any decisions. He feels right now is the safest time, as humans are beginning to learn and see something new and unknown, but it's happening at a slow, calm rate so there aren't any major catastrophes yet. Definitely just disguises himself as a guy. I like the idea of Yggdrasil genuinely falling for Sayuri and genuinely loving his family- I actually really like the idea that he didn't necessarily plan to have kids, so he was lowkey using his god powers to stop that (and he told Sayuri something abt him just not likely being able to do that) He just wants to explore this human world and humanity; despite all the cruelities that do happen, he enjoys her perspective, and finds himself warmed by her genuine optimism- but is grateful for her realism as well, because life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Despite that, she has strength to keep moving forward, keep being kind, and keep smiling. He feels... apathetic towards the rest of humanity, but Sayuri's outlook definitely helps tame any disgust or hatred he has. I feel he also genuinely likes and respects DATS- or at least the members who show genuine interest AND respect. I think around now he has a little hope in the humans that are good; that they can outweigh the bad. That's probably why he begins assisting the humans with digital partners. Yes, he could just reveal himself or do more; but the mission is to see what they do with what they're given. Can they really be compatible? Can they really be friends? He can't force such bonds, so he wants to see if humanity will take his gifts and use it well. (He is a little biased, treating his digimon with more favor.) By the time he has Masaru- I think at first he kinda expected to view Masaru as just another creation. to feel towards him what he does towards Digimon. But his affection for Masaru (and later Chika) exceeds that, because they were children born of love between him and another.

He loves his family, genuinely, but he is also the god of the digital world, and as things worsen, I think he has to make decisions. That's still his world that he reigns over. I think before he leaves during that goal to find Ikuto, he finally tells Sayuri the truth. It's... a lot for her to swallow, and I think they leave on awkward terms- it's the kind of thing where she wants to talk to him, have questions answered, etc etc,. but she needed time to process first, and he left before she finished. She keeps it from Masaru and Chika- unsure how they'll take it. I think she gets a little mixed feelings when Masaru befriends Agumon. Yggdrasil definitely pays attention once Masaru starts poking into the Digital World- curious how his son feels and views everything. At the end, he is largely proud of him (wishes he'd be less hot-headed, though.) Yggdrasil maintains his human form, but he does reveal the truth to his Royal Knights, Bancholeomon, and some other ruling digimon, like Mercurimon. Kurata's actions definitely soil Yggdrasil's views on humanity- in his rage and anguish over the loss of so many, he forgets the other humans he met beyond his own family. Even as he watches Masaru work with Touma, Yoshino and Ikuto- who share his perspective, he has a hard time caring for them. In the end the only reaosn he still loves Masaru is because of his familial and fatherly bias. Of coruse Masaru and Chika are good- they are of him and Sayuri. As things worsen, he genuinely starts to plan on a way to cut off conntact with the human world- but he's determined now to bring his family to him. He doesn't want the humans hurting his digimon any further, but he does not want to put Sayuri or his children at risk. Does not help matters when Touma, Masaru's human best friend, betrays them. By the time Masaru and him come face to face, he admits the truth of who he is- and while the others get away, he doesn't let them take Masaru. He tells Masaru his goal to destroy the human world, as it's the only way to save the digital world- and despite Yggdrasil trying to pacify him with the promise of being able to live in the digital world with his family, Masaru is too angry and afraid (dude's 14 and has been loaded w/ a lot recently okay) Yggdrasil just keeps him locked up for his own safety. A big thing is that Yggdrasil IS a computer god thing and IS supposed to be logical, but he let himself feel and have emotions and have a love and have family; it changed how he thinks, operates, etc etc Now he's more likely to feeel rage, anguish, etc., when before he might've kept a calmer head, and instead looked at everything with a colder, but logical, apathy. Now only does he have his family he genuinely loves, but being with Sayuri and learning about his heart, it did make him more affectionate and more protective of his own world. Dunno how this would end yet; I do wanna say it'd probably have a bittersweet ending where Masaru does go to the digital world, where he stays with Agumon (and Yggdrasil) while Chika and Sayuri prefer the human world and remain there.
