a mother's love: okoye's version
1.2k+ words | attoye | warnings: none, just cute
attuma x okoye fluff - ft. tadeas, xyanza, nobomi, yolotli, and kuhle...
Tumblr media
“The joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction.” - Okoye
As children, our first experiences of love and comfort often come from the embrace of our mothers.
She was warm and safe. Her embrace was like a soft cloud that cushioned me from any worries or fears. Even as a teenager, when the challenges of life grew more complex and demanding, there were still moments when I sought solace in my mother's embrace.
Tadeas slinks onto his parent's room, all over six feet and almost two hundred pounds of him. “Umama…” he laments, uncharacteristically. He’s sixteen years old and he’s tired from training; he wants his mother. And as he slides his feet over the hardwood floor and groans, his mother kisses her teeth and shakes her head.
Okoye pulls her glasses down her nose and looks up from her book. “Yes? Are you okay?” Her son doesn’t respond just comes to stand over her as she looks him up and down. He stands there, simply watching her for a moment with half-lidded eyes and a frown. “Tad-“
WHOMPH! Suddenly her massive son flopped on top of her and envelops his mother in a full-body bear hug. “Ah! No! You’re too big for this! Too old to sit on my lap! Tadeas! Stop- ATTUMA!”
Her book and her last read pages are lost in the scuffle.
Minutes later…
Tadeas leaned into his mother's touch, feeling the warmth and love radiating from her as she pressed gentle kisses onto his cheeks and forehead. Her hands, calloused from years of battle, now softened as they caressed his face, offering comfort and solace.
Okoye rubs her hands over his face, pressing kisses into his cheeks and forehead while her youngest daughters all crowd to ask about her day. They came to her aid since her husband was not home. But they couldn’t move their brother. “You need your sister to retwist your hair.”
Her son huffed and pushed one of his younger sisters off the bed when she slapped him with her tiny hand. “Xyanza is mad at me.” Okoye kissed her teeth. “You are always upsetting her. Xyanza!”
After a groan and a few moments, her oldest daughter, Xyanza, appears snickering at her brother’s antics. “I can’t move him. Sorry, mama.”
“That’s not what I need, will you please retwist his hair?”
 “No.”
A mother’s look. “Pardon me?”
Xyanza pouts and tries again. “He was rude to me today. I don’t want to.”
Okoye smacks her son's back and he groans again. “Were you rude to my daughter?”
“Uh…”
Earlier…
Sitting at the family table, Tadeas sighed and leaned back against the kitchen chair, feeling a mix of frustration and vulnerability. Being a sixteen-year-old boy was no easy task on its own, but especially when you were the son of the Warrior Okoye of the Border Tribe and the General of Talokan Attuma.
Tadeas had always felt the weight of his mixed heritage and the expectations that came with his ancestors, struggling to find his place in both worlds. As the son of two generals in-
“Big freaking deal…” His twin sister scoffed, reading his diary over his shoulder. “Need I remind you, I am also their child?... and you make it more complicated than it needs to be.” She playfully stuck her tongue out at her brother when he glared at her.
“It’s different. I am the oldest ,” He snarked.
“By like, fourteen minutes.”
“Meaning I’m fourteen minutes smarter than you.” He snarled at his sister, turning back to his journal. “Besides I’m the one child they have that matters. I have more responsibility, dipshit.”
Xyanza put her hands on her hips and started to cut up a piece of fruit for her to eat a snack. “Whatever. Can you go be stinky somewhere else?”
“You don't own this kitchen. And I was here first, so you can leave especially since you smell like shit.”
“I smell good! You look homeless!”
He doesn’t answer so she pinches his cheek until her triplets begin to giggle and pinch him as well. He groans and flings the little triplets away from him. They complain about how fat he is until he smacks at them to go away and leave him with his mother.
“She was being stupid.” “See, Mommy?!”
Another slap is administered to his back and he tightens his arms around his mother’s waist, ignoring her entirely.
“Apologize to your sister at once. It’s ridiculous I must tell you this at sixteen years old!”
“She’s always rude to me.” Okoye kisses her teeth.
“Not my baby girl. Apologize for being rude to her.” She runs her hands through his locs, even when they’re demons she can’t help but adore everything they do. They are fruits of her labor, how could she not love them?
“...Sorry, Xyanza.”
Okoye cooed when he hid his face in her stomach and tried to rest again. It reminded her of when he was a baby…
“Please do his hair, my lovely girl. He has a training seminar coming up that he has to lead.” She licks a thumb and straightens his eyebrows. He makes a face just like his father. “He won’t embarrass me looking like a lost tribe rapper.”
“His apology was pathetic! He didn’t even mean it.”
Okoye bit back a sigh. With five stubborn children in her home that’s all she could do. That’s what she gets for picking a stubborn man.
Or maybe this was retribution for how Okoye treated her mother as a teenager…
“How do you know he didn’t mean it?” “I didn’t.” “Tadeas!” She hisses at him, but there’s only so much to be done about his smart mouth.
Xyanza glares toward him, then walks out of the room grumbling under her breath.
The front door opens and then the cloth moves as they hear metal hit the ground with heavy footsteps.
“Daddy!” One of the triplets, Nobomi, cries. Yolotli follows suit and the three girls begin to chant and file out of the room.
As Attuma steps through the threshold of his home and sheds his armor at the entrance, he is immediately greeted by the sight of his three daughters running to embrace him with open arms. Okoye hears him grunt a few times as they undoubtedly have jumped into his arms and made him carry them.
“Your father will come and free me,” Okoye whispers to her son, tickling his neck as he grunts annoyed. She giggles then watches the entrance of the room.
Attuma walks into their bedroom moments later with three daughters hanging off his shoulders. Tired but smiling and Okoye smiles back.
He looks down at his son who is holding his wife hostage.
“Get off my woman.”
“...No.”
Okoye laughs at them both and smacks Attuma’s hand away when he reaches to push Tadeas off. “He’s tired…”
Attuma smirked, laughing at his son grunting in displeasure from being pushed. “I am more tired than he is. And he has his own bed.”
Tadeas’ shirt is gripped in the back and he’s suddenly lifted. The girls hanging off Attuma like Barnacles ooh and ahh.
He’s wrenched from his mother's embrace despite his scrambling to stay in place and flopped onto the foot of the bed. Grumbling about his father being unfair, he stands slowly and stretches his arms up.
They all watch with unimpressed faces as he lets out a loud yell that scared his sisters and then walks out of the room.
Okoye snorts and then sighs, picking her book back up. “Thank you, Attu-“
WHOMPH! And her even bigger husband takes his son's place on top of her. He falls asleep immediately and there’s nothing she can do.
“You massive IDIOT!”
“There’s no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one. In my darkest moments, I clung to my mother.”
Her oldest triplet, Yolotli rested her ear on Mama’s stomach while the other children sank around her, stealing their mother's warmth while their father prepared them dinner.
“Mama?” She whispered.
Okoye carded her hands through her oldest daughter's hair and scratched at her only son's back, they both faded to sleep quickly in their mother's arms. They all kept her so warm, inside and out.
“Do I have to be pregnant too?”
Okoye snorted and shook her head, “You do not, my love.” Xyanza laughed from her place at her mother’s feet as well.
“How do I avoid it? It seems to always happen to you…” Tadeas wheezes in laughter then.
“Because Baba has no sense or restraint- OW!” He is pinched on his ear and his mother purses her lips. “Who taught you to be so disrespectful?” “You!”
Okoye kisses her teeth and shakes her head and her giggling children. She turned back to her daughter and rolled her eyes toward her son. Yolotli nods, though she doesn't understand why they are doing this; she just does what Mama says.
The mother of five, but soon be of six, felt the offspring in her womb kick at this conversation, a strong and powerful kick that reminded her of whom she was married to…
“Stay away from men. Especially the tall handsome ones with a sweet tongue.”
“They made you pregnant?”
“No!” Attuma huffs from the other room, deciding to intervene since her mother was giggling. “You will not even think of that for fifty years!”
Okoye rolls her eyes. “What about when they get partners?” She yelled back at him.
“No boyfriends or girlfriends. No dating until marriage.”
“You’re ridiculous! My children, you may date when we approve of the person and deem it appropriate.”
Their daughter pouted, settling in the empty space glued to her mother’s side. “Yuum will never approve… that’s why Xyanza is still single…” Xyanza whips her head around to stare incredulously at her sister. “Oh, it’s like that? Yu’um scares off all the men!”
“That’s right!”
“Attuma, be quiet!”

Attuma talking to his son after he has a hard day of training:
Attuma (patching up his battered son) : Tadeas, do not ever let anyone beat you and live to tell the tale.
Tadeas: Yes sir.
Xyanza (listening from the family room): Yuum, you don’t even take your own advice.
Attuma: 🤨 Eel, what do you mean by this? No man has ever beaten me.
Xyanza: maybe not a man…
Okoye, from the kitchen: My nose itches.
Attuma:
Attuma: I see… Tadeas, Xyanza.
Twins: yes, Yuum?
Attuma: if you are beaten, and they live to tell the tale. Marry them. Keep your enemies closer.

CASTING MY OC’s: Tadeas 🦏 and Xyanza 🔱 + LORE
The Children of Okoye of Wakanda and Attuma of Talokan
+ bonus: Nashuri’s Daughter - Itzia
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tadeas - The Rhino 🦏
Tumblr media
He was a sweet sensitive and shy boy growing up, he was very in tune with people’s emotions and how they felt. But unfortunately his parents could not shield him from the violence of the real world. When he was around 8 years old, he was out playing with the rhinos (his mother often commented how close he was to them and his father said they would be his wayob or ‘chosen animal’)
He went following the rhinos, further than he should’ve been, and witnessed a poacher group of elephant and rhino hunters. They saw him and decided to try and shoot him, they wanted ‘no witnesses’ and thought “some young African kid, just get rid of him”, his favorite rhino shielded him from the bullet and died there, roaring for Tadeas to run for his life. Tadeas ran for his father and when they went back, Attuma killed the poachers and reported it to Queen Shuri. But Tadeas was forever changed. It changed his worldview. His family gave the rhino a hero’s burial and Okoye comforted her son but noticed he did not cry anymore. He was numb. She cried to Attuma that night bc while her child was safe, those poachers had taken her innocent son. And she feared she might never see him again.
After that Tadeas focused mostly on training and feeding his rhinos. His father saw how quiet his son was these days and wanted to do something, his daughter Xyanza suggested they take him to Talokan for the first time. See, Tadeas was unable to breathe underwater. he has no gills and so he had not yet been to Talokan even at 9 years old. Though Xyanza didn’t quite see why not, she didn’t understand why she and Baba went to Talokan often but not Mama or Tadeas.
So they brought him to Talokan, and told him to stay in his room overlooking the city, glass panels giving him and other visiting Wakandans the ability to see over the city. At first he did stay put, but Xyanza said “You’re still sad… how about I sneak you out and we can go play a game with the other children!” Not knowing that normal humans will die underwater bc of the dense atmosphere. Awful idea but she was only 9.
His sister held his hand and Tadeas was able to go into the depths of Talokan. They snuck him a breathing mask and the other children of Talokan showed him lots of places, he wasn’t as good of a swimmer and they had to hold his hand, but he fell in love with Talokan. He finally smiled for the first time in months looking out at the kingdom and Xyanza was proud she had been able to make him happy again.
Meanwhile, Okoye comes back to the room to entertain her son and call for her daughter only to find that they are both gone. Under normal circumstances she would’ve been calm and okay, but she was pregnant again and had already been hesitant to bring Tadeas so deep under the surface. She screamed for her husband and Attuma came running.
They sent a search party to find the children. Namor, Namora and Attuma went themselves to look from them and found them atop a steep cliff on a trench. Attuma raced toward his son and enveloped him in a hug while the other Talokanil surrounded Tadeas like “YOURE NOT WEARING A SUIT… HOW ARE YOU ALIVE????”
So they bring him back to the Talokan Palace and he is scolded by his mother who is in tears and Xyanza is given a stern talking to, but she didn’t understand he could’ve died. Tadeas is unremorseful however, he has tears in his eyes as he tells everyone how wonderful Talokan is! Shuri does a few tests and discovers that although he is not able to breath water, he still is immune to the depths of Talokan. Now knowing that his children could both train in Talokan, His father says it’s about time his son began to train with Talokanil children, but Okoye is hesitant once more.
“Umama, please… I have not known happiness in some time. Please let me train. You trust me right?” He son said, tugging at her dress and nuzzling her hand in his hair. Had to turn up the cuteness to convince Umama.
“No. You are not old enough to be trusted with such a thing! Attuma, talk to him!”
Attuma nervously cleared his throat. “I believe it is time, Okoye. We’ve held them both off for long enough, you see how their hands long for the blade.”
“We said, we wouldn’t-“
“This illustrates not forcing them, in K’iino… he reaches for it, just as we did at their age.” Tadeas looked between his mother and father and nodded eagerly at his fathers words. “How we wanted to protect and serve.”
Okoye shook her head. “I did not know better then. I know now.”
“Mama, please!” “I forbid it!” Of course, the children eventually began to sneak out and train at late night, which made Okoye absolutely cry from worry and Attuma have to scold them even if he was in support of them training. “You will be the end of your mother if you continue to act like this. Chaac forbid it.”
Often she would fake faint just to guilt trip them, but it stopped working when their father subtly informed them of what she was doing. Okoye glared at her husband from she laid dramatically on the bed as her children shook their heads at her. After that, she finally allowed them to train freely. Reluctantly, after she gave birth to the triplets, she recovered and a year later began to formally train in the way of the Dora the twins at 11 years old. Xyanza went to Dora camps after that.
Tadeas is very close to his little triplet sisters once they begin to talk, they latch onto him and he is often the one In charge of watching them.
He’s the oldest so he’s very often the one in charge or held responsible for hijinks. He idolizes his mother and father but mostly wants to fully emulate his father. He’s a bit jealous that his sisters can breathe water and not him.
His skills include: swimming (he had to train to swim like a Talokanil, it didn’t come naturally) holding his breath for up to 10 minutes, battle ax combat, espionage, long range combat, night vision (all children of both talokan, and Wakanda were given night vision by Bast and Chaac as a gift of unity)
Xyanza - The Eel 🐍
Tumblr media
When she was born she had gills and could breathe water as well as air. I’d on the battle field, you’ll often find her in a body con suit that changes color with her surroundings. She is known as the eel for her swimming ability and stealth.
She was able to go to Talokan and stay there for days or even weeks while her brother had to stay home until he turned 14 and he could come unsupervised.
She’s the bleeding heart (very similar to her auntie Nakia) she was Namor’s little grand baby when he would hang around them all the time. She was the sweetest baby and her mother and father predicted she would be sly and cunning. She is a master of stealth even if she is 5’11 and close to 150 pounds. She towered over her mother by the time she turns 15 and Okoye be like “🤨 you think you can beat my ass?” And Xyanza is like “mom, chill, I just asked what’s for dinner…” “I DO NOT SERVE YOU EEL” “Umama be CALM”
She is a good friend of Itzia as well as trains with the Dora often. She and her brother were close until he began to become vindictive and angry as a teenager, they still have their sibling moments but it’s hard for them to be friends with their opposing views.
“Xyanza… your brother still loves you of course… how could he not?”
“He has become so dark and closed off, Mama… I do not even recognize him anymore.” Xyanza weeps into Okoye’s arms. She misses her brother, she misses her best friend.
“He is going through things he must navigate himself. But his love for you has not stopped. He is blinded by rage right now. It happens to the best of us. Do not cry for he is not gone.” :((
She a thickly thick broad too. Very popular with all the youth of Talokanda. Wide hips, lil waists but built! She is STACKED! Call her the Willow smith bc her parents are powerful and she’s a bad bitch.
She very much is an icon in their kingdom, people wear her clothing and suck up to her a lot but it’s not difficult bc she is a sweetheart, though very competitive. When she’s being normal think Ty Lee but when she’s in a competition or match off she turns full on Azula. She’s smart as a whip and very easy to fall for. She has some of her fathers features but her face is her mamas. The side eyes and stank faces are completely her mothers.
She trained for many years as a Dora. And her mother was excited to think her daughter would follow in her footsteps but Xyanza is not the girl to be an obedient soldier. She questions authority and is steadfast in her personal beliefs.
She still has not told her mother she doesn’t want to be a Dora. Her mother is the Head of Border Defense and General of the Midnight Angels… how can she tell her nationalist African mother that she wanted to be a spy/war dog?
Her skills include: swimming (Talokanil, Contorting her body (Eel) Night vision (Talokanil) Camouflage, close range combat) Think Ty Lee from Avatar TLAB
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Itzia - The Clawed Serpent 🪽
Tumblr media
She’s a goofball fr, he relationship with her mom isn’t the tightest but she still loves her and knows her mother loves her too.
She’s much closer to her father, or she was until he began to push her away when she turned around 13… she doesn’t know why (see this post for the reason) and instead turns her attention to her closest friends, Tadeas and Xyanza for her chosen family. She’s a massive rebel and a bad influence.
She will not do what she’s told, she don’t give a fuck that her dad is the godking of Talokan and her mother is the black panther and queen. She definitely gives “I didn’t ask for this life” but she’s truly the life of the party.
She’s got namor’s trademark wolf smile, pointed ears and winged feet but besides that she absolutely her mother’s daughter. @mickimomo maybe she’s tight with her auntie ora and auntie oni 👀👀
Her skills include: lesbianism/rizz, flight, superhuman strength, Siren song of Pathos (think blue Diamond), Night vision (All Talokandan children), She has a good lie detector in her brain

Raising Kids: Attuma's Version 🩵 ft. Tadeas
Tumblr media
Updating My Universe Read on AO3
Warm reds and yellow over their windows cast a homely cozy feeling in his brand-new home. He was grateful and blessed to have the life he did.
The suds and warm water always made Tadeas happy as a baby. He would fall asleep in his father's hands. Attuma had to hold his little arms up to bathe him gently. A low melodic humming as his father kisses his curls.
Tadeas sleepily pushes his father's face away for the fifth time as he kisses his fat cheeks and whines, huffing.
As he pulled his son from the bath and enveloped him in a towel, Attuma sighed, he was always happy to pamper his children his way because they were the cutest things on Earth to him.
Tadeas drooling on his chest and gripping at his hair in a tiny hand… He was smitten from the day he first set eyes on his two children. Even when…
“Weee!” The quick and sloppy pitter-patter of wet tiny feet echoed through the home, creating puddles on their new wood flooring.
“Xyanza! Come back here at once!” His wife called, and he turned to see her running full speed through the lounge room with a towel.
Tiny, soaking wet, and naked as the day she came into this world, Xyanza ran through their home, the bubbles in her hair leaving a trail of destruction throughout the house. “hee hee hee!”
The little eel slipped and pattered around her mother, a defiant wide smile on her perfect chubby face as Okoye, swatted at her with a towel like it was a fish net, trying desperately to catch her daughter, “Slippery bitch…” She hisses when Xyanza slipped between her legs. The tiny toddlers brightening laughter filled their home and warmed Attuma’s heart. It was Okoye’s turn to bathe Xyanza and while he loved his daughter more than life itself, she could be a handful.
“Okoye…” Attuma sighed, drying off his son and playfully biting one of his little fists when Tadeas made to punch him with a giggle. “My love, please do not call our daughter a ‘slippery bitch’.”
Okoye wrinkled her nose at her husband, “She doesn’t understand… And she is being evil on purpose.” The evil eel in question blubbered at her mother’s glare as Okoye finally caught her arm and scooped her up, ignoring how Xyanza kicked and pretended to cry. “You will bathe!”
Attuma snorted and ran the towel over his son’s neck, “Well, she may not be able to understand now, but when they can speak, she will ask you why you used to call her a ‘bitch’.”
“Bitch…” Tadeas said, poking his head out from his father’s arm.
A tense silence shrouds the room.
Tadeas had been a late bloomer. He had been walking and crawling and was picking up on running, but at 18 months old he still had not said his first word… Attuma thought it was because his son seemed more of a ‘reserved and observant type’. Okoye said he had sharp eyes that cut words and large pupils that seemed to absorb everything they could.
Attuma stands stock still and Okoye holds tight to a squirming girl she gave birth to.
“Okoye… Was that his first…” His tone was void of emotion and Okoye did not want to be blamed for this, even though she was certainly to blame for this.
“Bitch!” Tadeas said again, thinking no one had heard him.
The wife in question, spun around and made a guilty face. “Oop-”
“Okoye! See what you have done! You’ve corrupted my son!”
Okoye spun back around incredulously and placed her free hand on her chest. “How is it that I am to blame?! You said it!”
“You said it first!” Attuma ran a hand over his face and groaned pitifully. His son’s first word…
The toddler in his arms looked about his family and tried something else. “Yuum… Yum…”
Attuma didn’t even bother to acknowledge the uncharacteristic gasp that left his throat as he looked back at his precious son again. The smile and pride on his face emboldened Tadeas as he wanted to show his father all he had learned!
“Bitch! Yuum, Bitch!” Tadeas tried again, grabbing his father by the face and asking for a reaction. Attuma holds up the baby glaring at the chubby kicking legs. He whispers to Tadeas, “Someday I will punish you for this. Not now, You are too young to punish now.”
Attuma kissed his child on the head and swaddles him deeper in the towel, ignoring how Tadeas flailed, and walks away toward the children's room, without another word.
Xyanza looked at her mother, deciding to behave now. Okoye looked at her daughter.
The tiny eel’s smirk grew. “Oooooh…” and Okoye kissed her teeth, pouting and tossing Xixi over the shoulder. “You’re taking an extra long bath.”
“Mm No!” Xyanza cried but did not have the vocabulary to tell Okoye why.
However, needless to say, Attuma did not speak to Okoye for the rest of the day. He is pouting and gives her the cold shoulder for almost a week until she convinces Tadeas to say “I love Yuum.” and then all is forgiven.
14 years later…
The bowl of fruit in Attuma’s hand was light. It reminded him of how easily his daughter used to fit inside his arms. Now she was taller than her mother and nearly as tall as him. It seemed like yesterday all his children were just younglings… reaching up to him when he came home asking to be picked up and swung around. Attuma sighed wistfully and smiled. He had six beautiful children now.
Tadeas is training outside, while the rhinos watch him. He flings his axe, forward and sideways as he attempts to get a handle on the newly added weight of the vibranium blade. His oldest moved growing locs from his eyes and took sporadic moments to swing the staff in his other hand and gain momentum on his perry. A few moments later, his daughter comes down and joins her brother, waving to her father when she spots him. His son follows her wave and spots his father as well, rolling his shoulders back as he prepares to put on a show.
Cocky with something to prove… he was just like how his father had been at his age.
Attua thinks back to when his son was different and yet the same, quiet and reserved but for reasons unknown, He thought back to holding him and…
His first words…
Attuma grimaced as he scowled toward where his wife was resting with the baby in her room. He was still mad about that. Attuma turned back toward his children to watch them train, as his youngest daughters, Kuhle, Yolotli, and Nobomi ran from the grass to sit and watch Tadeas and Xyanza train together. Spears and wood clashed as Tadeas advanced on his sister, shooting looks at his sisters when they cheered him on, and kissing his teeth when they cheered for Xyanza…
Someday I will punish you for this. Not now, You are too young to punish now…
“Hm.” Attuma sniffed, placing the bowl of fruit on the counter. "Mm." He made up his mind.
Xyanza turns her attention toward the house when she sees the creak of the door closing. Her father silently makes his way over and the triplets stand to greet him, chirping in his ear as two of them jump on his back and arms. “Yuum! We went to the reef in class today and caught our own pearls!” Attuma made an affirming sound as he never ceased his walking toward his two sparring twins.
Xyanza jumped back from Tadeas and faced her father, “Any notes, Baba?”
No response except a head shake as Attuma finally makes his way to tower over his rapidly growing eldest son.
Tadeas puffs out his chest proudly and looks up at his father preparing for some notes or sometimes just praise.
His father looks down at his son for a few moments and firmly pushes him to the ground.
His sisters all cackle wildly while their brother sputtered in surprise and dusted the dirt off his skirt and chest. Even the rhinos snort with laughter, and Tadeas glares at them.
Attuma nodded to himself and scooped up his triplet daughters; smiling at his thoroughly embarrassed son triumphantly when all his girls laughed. Then he walked back into the house wordlessly.
Tadeas shook in disbelief, “Why? I- Wha- YUUM! WHY?!?”
"You know what you did!"
info on the Attoye kids!
A/N: The way Attuma must've been in the house proudly watching his son and then suddenly reliving that moment, and his face suddenly went from happy to more and more furious until he just flew out the door. 😂
“Let me go push my son, let me go humble my son.”
his son will be reporting this transgression to their commander in chief…
“MAMA! Mama! Dad shoved me!”
“He is lying. I did not.”

Overwhelmed (Attuma x Okoye Fluff)

Attuma and Okoye have six children in my universe… here’s a peek at life with six fucking kids. “We need a break.”

Dinner for such a large family is no small feat.
...
"Do not fight me on this, Tadeas. Why are you so against this?” Attuma said finally, exasperated and quickly losing patience with his son.
“He’s scared to go to the party,” Xyanza said, smiling deviously.
"No, I am not. Shut up." Tadeas growled, warning his twin sister with a fist to the table.
"Then by the gods, what is it?" Attuma asked.
"It’s- It’s nothing!"
"It can not be nothing.” Okoye pressed, scooting Yolotli away from the table leg.
“None of the recruits like him."
"They respect me."
"They fear you. And when he leaves the room, they talk shit." Xyanza insisted and Attuma absorbed this, looking between his two eldest, "Because he’s so freaking stuck up and rude."
"Xyanza!" Tadeas snapped. “What the fuck is your problem?!”
“Yu’um, can I bite them both?”
Kick. Kick. Kick,
"They call him the prince. A stuck-up, royal, bratty prince. No one wants to train with him." Xyanza needled, meeting his eye as he glared at her in disbelief.
"You are such a bitch!” Tadeas yelled, rising from his seat.
His twin sister rose on the other side and slammed her fists on the table. “You’re the whiny fucking bitch.”
"Enough!" Attuma shouted, and the kicking ceased.

Attoye short! 💗
Rating: G (it’s fluff, purely domestic)
Tumblr media
Okoye is cooking stew for dinner, she’s pregnant but she ain’t about to let anybody tell her what she can and can’t do.
She sent her husband Attuma to go get their children from the riverside where the children usually play after schooling.
When the sun sets, She hears them all approaching before they even make it to the door.
As soon as the door is opened, it’s all hushed whispers and giggles and Okoye’s mom senses are tingling. She clears her throat.
“Attuma.”
She heard her husband quickly shush his children. Conspiring.
“Yes, my love?”
“Come here, husband.”
There’s a moment of hushed hesistance and then then children rush towards her greeting her as they do everyday.
Her darling son, Tadeas hugs her legs and presses a kiss to her wrist, something he learned from his father.
Her sweet daughter, Xyanza, comes in and places herself at her mothers side, looking between her mother and the doorway…
She sees the shadow of her very large husband approach the doorway of the kitchen and then his head pokes from around the corner. It’s almost comical how apologetic he already looks.
His wife watches him walk close to where Okoye is standing, rubbing her daughters back to calm her down. Excess energy causing her to jump up and down in place. He’s holding one arm behind his back, going “Ki’in I ask that you open your mind for a moment. I have a proposal for you.”
“Show me what you’ve brought, Attuma.”
He pulls his arm around and reveals…
It’s a kitten. Furry and mangy.
Okoye shot an icy glare towards her husband and ignored how cute his dimples were when he was nervous to upset her. He had been very good, tiptoeing her temper when she was pregnant and aching. But he was pushing it today.
“By Bast… What is its name?”
“Tuna!” Xyanza shouted.
“Atlas!” Tadeas countered.
Attuma turned away from his children beginning to bicker before they were silenced by their mother raising a hand.
“Tuna Atlas.” He said.
Okoye smiles and wiped her hands of tomato extract. She walked over and quietly pet the cat. “Welcome, Tuna Atlas.” She wasn’t going to be bad cop this time.
They could have the kitten.
Attuma lit up. Flashing his wife a million dollar sharp smile. It was cute almost enough to take away how upset she was.
“Thank you, Mama! You’re the best and the most beautiful!” Her darling daughter said, nuzzling her hip as she kissed her mothers hand.
“I know.” She sighed, laughing when her children ran up to their new pet and began playing with the feisty cat.
“He’ll need a new bowl and collar!”
“I’ll get those things.” Attuma said, rocking the kitten in his palm and chuckling when it batted at his large fingers.
“Yes and a new bed.” Okoye threw in. Attuma nodded and let the children take the kitten to find a place where it would sleep. He wrapped his arms around his precious wife and rubbed her stomach gently.
“Yes, I’ll get a new bed for it as well.”
“Not for the cat,” Okoye said, cheerfully. “For you.”
Attuma tilted his head. “I’m sorry?”
A sharp pain to his ear was felt and he was pulled down to her level. She was pinching him! His ear!
“Because you, Attuma of Talokan, Father of Two, Wimp of a Husband ” she purses her lips and growled at him, “will not be sleeping in my bed for quite some time.”
She released his ear and stepped away from him.
“Ki’in, please!”
“Come try this plantain stew.” She said, ignoring his woe.
“…okay.” He sulked but that was his favorite.
“You’re lucky I’m feeding you...”

My Attoye’s Kids Headcanons!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💗 They have two twins (16 a boy and girl) three triplet daughters (10) and one last son (4) 🧞
• Names:
‘Rhino and the Eel’ Twins: Tadeas and Xyanza (16)
Piranha Triplets: Yolotli, Kuhle, and Nobomi (10)
Youngest son: N’kani (2)
• info:
The triplets and Xyanza can all breathe water and air. Xyanza also has siren song.
Tadeas can not. His bones are dense and his blood can withstand deep water pressures but he cannot breathe water. So when he visits Talokan he has to only wear a mask. Tadeas wants to be just like his Father and trained hard to be able to hold his breathe for a long time and swim like his sisters but he still is jealous.
His sister has always been very sweet but a great protector of her brother and often of others. She hates bullies and does not like it when people are harmed or picked on without reason. The twins used to be attached at the hip until they started training.
Tadeas showed no mercy and Xyanza was disgusted by his indifference to innocent lives. Now they fight often (verbally and physically).
Their oldest son had the same kinda relationship with rhinos as his dad does with sharks. He loved the rhinos since he was very small.
He’s very large like his father and has long dread locs and wears rhino horns and armor like his fathers, he uses an axe that’s wider and flatter than his fathers battle axe.
But when he’s really young he witnesses a bunch of poachers kill one of his favorite rhinos. He tells his dad. And Attuma absolutely slaughters them for trespassing and just bc
and since then Tadeas kinda has always had a distaste of people from colonizing countries. In his mind, they are good for nothing but stealing and murdering. He has no empathy for most colonizers or even just surface countries at all.
He has no problem killing many even if they’re innocent but his twin sister who is a training Dora/midnight angel always stops him. She’s the voice of reason.
His sister is a tall muscular but pretty lean woman who is more of stealth person rather than a mercenary like her brother. They call her the eel bc on her missions she is able to slip on and out of licked down high security easily. She doesn’t like to kill but she’s very quick and her blade is untraceable so if she must take a life, it won’t be torturous even if they’re a monster. She’s the little assassin.
Xyanza was trained to be a part of her mother’s Army, but she decided instead, she wants to be a war dog like Nakia. She hasn’t told her mother though. She’s a bit rebellious bc she doesn’t really listen, where as her twin brother absolutely worships the ground their parents walk on with some exceptions .
She and Nashuri’s daughters are a war dog team but keep it secret from their parents.
Then there are the three triplet 9 year olds, Yolotli, Kuhle, and Nobomi. the village calls them ‘the pirahnas’. they all have sharp teeth and speak very little, people don’t usually listen to them so they keep their opinions to themselves, but they be plotting
though they are sweet young girls,, they’re just… feral. They like going on hunts with their brother and they’re just ‘cute little piranhas’. If a diver looking for vibranium is seen by them, they will try their best to tear the diver apart.
The youngest son is just a baby and doesn’t have any nicknames or anything but does have the cutest little baby hands and is very chubby.
Okoye is still a war general, but strays away from the battle field these days. She could still kick ass but she chooses to step back from the physical field unless absolutely necessary.
Attuma is still a general as well but he has continued to serve under Namor and chooses not to retire. not much WAR going on lately though so he is a very present and loving father. Okoye’s more of the busy one, though she tries her very best to be active and it works for everyone.
• Scenario:
I’m imagining maybe while Xyanza and (Nashuris daughter) were trying to free some Prisoners of war from a British battle ship on the Indian Ocean, she gets found and cornered but her brother is there to not only save her, but bust her. Saying he’s going to tell their parents what she’s been doing. He’s a snitch fr but he has her back.
She tells him how they can’t just let this ship leave and he says it wasn’t for no reason - he found some vibranium that had obviously been smuggled from Wakandan borders. They had figured out the export was being sold by black market traders disguised as tourists. So Tadeas says he’ll help them take the ship down and then take all the credit when they’re back home 🙄🤣. Nashuris daughter is like fine idc
Then he is stabbed through the shoulder with a vibranium whale gun by a surviving ship captain, they’re both captured and Xyanza is knocked out.
They wake up to find themselves in a vibranium cell on another ship heading to an undisclosed location to be tested on. They’re all trapped there as their weapons have been confiscated.
Then they hear a bunch of screams, gunshots and commotion and who bursts into the door.
Shuri. The Queen of Wakanda. The Black Panther.
Her mask falls and she is relieved to see all the kids but also furious that they not only left but engaged without authority.
They can only imagine what their other parents are feeling.
So the parents are all there, Namor is getting rid of crew members who turn out to be American Marines and Other Goverment Allies. Shuri is hacking into the system and releasing the kids. Okoye is observing the ship and interrogating the captain. Attuma is in a rage he is absolutely wrecking the ship, it’s sinking.
The kids are soon faced with their parents, being scolded mainly by Okoye and Namor, Shuri is jumping in sometimes but Attuma is deathly silent.
Nashuri! Kid and Tadeas are facing most blame. They will all be punished however.
“Baba! Please I was trying to help Talokan and Wakanda. You must believe me!” Tadeas pleaded.
Attuma stepped forward and looked down at his son, who he left in charge of all of the kids.
“I have given you far too much responsibility. This has proven to me you are not ready to handle that.”
Attuma takes his sons axe, which he gave to him on his 11th birthday. And His son is devasted, shocked into silence.
All the children are ordered to return to Wakanda and told they are forbidden to leave until further notice. They’ve all been benched from their training and anything except school.
Nashuri kid is taken from public schooling and absolutely grounded.

Ask My Attoye Kids! Ages: 7 years old
Tumblr media
Q: Who makes better food, Mama or Yuum?
Tadeas: (picking at his sister’s hair) Yuum’s dishes are hearty and sweet! He will sometimes make recipes from Wakanda and i like the yams.
Xyanza: Umama makes only vegetables. She will not make us anything that is sweet except fruit.
Okoye: Fruits and Vegetables are important for growing children. You will grow to be slow and weak if you do not eat enough!
Attuma: Our children? Slow and weak? Never.
Okoye: (snorts) It’s true, the little demons can run for the hills. But they are lazy and do not listen to their poor pregnant mother!
Tadeas: I listen, Mama! I train every day!
Xyanza: I study too…
Attuma: chasing fish and rhinos, playing pok-a-tok, and sneaking candy off the sweet cart are not training or studying.
Xyanza: Is too!
Okoye: (dramatically sighs while rubbing her stomach) Ah! If the children continue to be so disobedient, I fear I do not have long in this world.
Attuma: (hiding a smile) Children, don't you know it shortens your mother’s life when you disobey?
Twins: Mama, No! We’re sorry, do not die!
Okoye: Aww.. my sweet angels, Mama will be fin-
Xyanza: If you die, who will cook the plantain?
Attuma: (snorts)
Okoye: (stunned and offended silence at her ungrateful demon children)
Tadeas: Yuum cannot… he burns it too crispy.
Okoye: HA!
Attuma: (stunned and offended silence)
