Once again thinking about my oc who makes how to do videos that Vulcan kids like to watch, except this time I’m also thinking about “guest stars,” because you just know there’s going to be some things where you need an expert on it for
And originally I was just thinking about pleasant guest stars, and how the Human oc is unknowingly also teaching Vulcan kids how to handle their emotions because the Human is trying a lot of new things that actually scare them, or make them anxious, things like that, but they just calm themselves down on camera and continue doing them
But now I’m thinking about Jim Kirk, specifically aos Jim Kirk, guest starring before he ever became a captain, and it’s “how to ride a motorcycle,” and the whole time, this Human who is usually good at keeping a calm and pleasant disposition, just keeps turning to anxiously tell the camera “don’t do that” because Jim went straight to tricks and stuff that he shouldn’t be showing beginners
Jim Kirk is rewatching this episode as a captain, trying to avoid looking at Bones and Spock as they watch him put himself in danger without proper protective gear on

Tim jokingly sends Bernard:
Basically every night, but one night, he forgets to, and at first Bernard doesn't think much of it, but he still texts Tim anyway because they always talk before bed and say goodnight to one another, but cause Tim silenced his phone during patrol, he doesn't answer so Bernard slowly starts freaking out. After a few hours of spiraling and no replys from Tim, he goes to the manor and sneaks in cause it's past Tim's 'allowed to have people over curfew' and when Tim isn't there (cause Tim is patrolling as Red Robin, hence the curfew), Bernard goes into full panic mode, and he finds Red Robin on the street and Tim, obviously worried about Bernard, asks what is wrong and Tim doesn't know whether to laugh at how funny the situation is (and how paranoid his boyfriend is) or cry over how much Bernard cares for him, and so Tim is like "of course I'll help you, let's not get dramatic, I am sure he is not dead, oh, I'm sure he's okay, probably even closer than you think" and now he can't take out his phone cause Bernard will recognize it, and they won't actually find Tim cause Red Robin is Tim, and so they just go on an adventure all night and by the end of the night, Tim finally tells Bernard, and Bernard doesn't know whether to break up with him because he saw Bernard going through panic attacks and freaking out and he still didn't say anything, or if he should hug him and tell him how he's so glad he's okay, or if he should bombard him with questions about superheros, supervillains, and the like. He settles for a hug, a free pass for something major, and a discussion on a rooftop over 24 hour minimart coffee (that tim had to pay for).

Poll adventure (paventure? lol) Day 9: read the small story tidbit below the poll for more details, OR just vote based on initial impression
(✦ see past poll results + further information HERE (link) ✦)
Yesterday's poll helped The Adventurer build his raft...
"After two hours of fumbling about with tangled rope and tree branches, he's finally produced something that at least.. mostly, looks like a normal raft. He attaches a few extra flowers for decoration, loops his cat into a makeshift safety harness (so they can't get lost in the water), then gives everything one last check before deciding it's all ready to go, nervously pushing off into the river...
Surprisingly, it floats just fine. As long as he doesn't make any sudden movements, the raft doesn't threaten to flip over, or even wobble nearly as much as he expected. There's no way to really steer or paddle, but he does have a large stick he occasionally uses to push himself away from rocks or other obstacles. Luckily, the current is very slow at this section of the river, and hopefully will remain so for his entire trip.
Just lazily floating around, he estimates he should travel about 4 hours to fully get past the blocked road and end up at the next area on his map. Though the raft is too small (and too lumpy) to comfortably lay on, he can still recline slightly, bathing in the near afternoon sun, watching the scenery slowly drift by....
About 30 minutes into his first ever sailing adventure, he feels the water shift as a larger boat comes near. He can't see it clearly yet, but it seems to be nice - polished wood with painted sections and little flags draped along the sides, presumably some sort of actual steering and propelling mechanisms, and about 10 people lounging on the surface, maybe having some sort of party..? It's been very quiet so far, these are the first other travelers he's seen in the entire area today... Should he attempt to make contact with them? "
--------
Additional details -
Boat Make-up : Based on the results of the last poll (where people helped him make a boat by choosing the amount of materials) -- With 30% branches and 21% rope, there's only a 9% difference between them, so both are in pretty close amounts, which means there's a TON of rope. (normal ratio would be like 65% wood and 10% rope lol). I probably should have even added more, but it's so visually busy, just pretend there's extra rope wrapped under the boat too.
30% branch and 15% fabric means there's about half as much fabric as there is wood, which is also A LOT for just a little side decoration, so I made the flag huge, and a square of fabric for the cat to sit on. 10% berries means that there's enough ink for 1/3 of the wood to be entirely covered in purple designs. The least amount was the twigs and leaves for padding, which would cover a little under 1/3 of the wood (laid on top). then a little over 1/3 of the space is flowers for decor, which are just kind of sitting in a pile on top, with a few actually tied down onto the flag or other areas.
Since the branches were pretty close in percentage to all other things (not like 80% branches and 20% all other materials), the raft is fairly small, as not much wood was used.
main goal: follow his map to reach the abandoned castle ruins and see the rare animal specialist about the mysterious egg he has

25 and 35 for the wol ask meme for Da Baby Mode? ;—,
25. do they have any habits or rituals that they do to soothe themselves?
counts his heartbeats. what do you do when your heart's beating too fast? well.
anyway when he goes real quiet during a stressful.... anything, that's where he's going. no he's not listening, yes it is a problem.
35. how do they feel about the fact that they've killed a lot of people and/or things?
on the one hand, bad! on the other it's so fuckin complicated, and it's by far the uncertainty that eats at him over the actual killing. which is frankly not great either, lmao.
he was raised a mercenary, by mercenaries with very few moral compunctions regarding the kinds of jobs they took, so killing initially falls under the umbrella of just kind of. a thing which happens, which you make happen, if you want to eat and keep working. this outlook unfortunately lends itself well to his early dealings with the scions - it's a job, a job he's used to doing, and a job he's good at. so he does it, and with the influx of primals there's frankly not a whole lot of time for him to stop and think about what tempered might actually mean until like. walking facefirst into how casually he'd handled all of that death when unukalhai tries to protect him from more killing, and then it's like falling six stories into deep water.
he never really surfaces.
there's a point where he breaks, somewhere in ishgard, mostly unrelated to ishgard, but he's essentially alone and he slams the lid on that quick 'cause it's not the time and it's not the place, and then everything goes to shit over and over again and this killing should feel different but it doesn't, and that's worse. and then it's over, and he's boxed all of that horror so tight somewhere within himself and he's fine and it's done, and then aymeric asks him what he does after all of this and he's got to think for a thankfully, somehow, brief fucking second of the quiet that's going to follow the storm and how he's gonna have to live with himself.
then everything that follows is an awful kind of relief.
killing you're responsible for but don't actually have a hand in (hashtag waking sands etc) a whole other fuckin thing that he actually somehow gets to acknowledge he's wracked with guilt over, like the blood he actually spills is one thing but the blood that's spilled for him? over him? completely out of his control? whole other raging animal.
