Thing I loved about this evening: how incredibly peripherally aware people are of babies.

There was a fire pit. BabyTea was toddling around energetically as he is wont to do. At one point, he headed roughly in the direction of the fire pit, and I swear half of the people at the table, many of whom do not have their own babies, promptly turned and half-reached for him before they saw I was following him.

It was a big party, mostly rather drunk young men in their twenties (o god that’s starting to sound so young to me), and everyone very carefully did not tread on him and celebrated his pebble throwing accomplishments.
