Thoughts on the ICJ case today:

my personal feelings and conclusion here is that the statements "this is a win for the palestinian cause" and "this is no where near enough" can coincide and be true at the same time.

Its true that what we ultimately need is a full and complete ceasefire, and the decolonisation of Palestine. The ICJ today did not outright call for this, and that is frustrating. However, by ruling that there is definitive probable cause to believe that the occupiers are committing genocide, they have lended credibility to the Palestinian cause, and mounted pressure on the zionists and zionist supporters.

Something I see very often in pro-Palestine activism is the necessity of hope. We must continue to hope and believe that we will win. We must NOT let cynicism and defeatism take over; this is a gateway to apathy. Its hard, im not denying that, but its necessary. This was always going to be a long haul fight.

So Im coming away from this strong. Lets take the win, and continue to demand better. In fact, now is the time to up the pressure from the public. This court case is accessible to everyone, so we gotta make sure our government(s) know that we are paying attention, and that we understand whats happening.

Back in Sweden after and awesome LARP weekend in England. It was very hot and to be fair @/gothbookdragon did warn me, but I didn’t listen so now my back is burnt but on the way to recovery✨🤩😅🥵

Had a very awesome time, a few friends got hero names, I got their stories told to me so I can tell them as well to others, fought a lot, both Orcs and Shadows(they were scary😈😱) and had some ritual magic cast on my military unit that makes them stronger. Also got to vote on some things, one for a senetor and another on who would control a Mithril Mine.

All in all it has been a very eventful last LARP event of the year and looking forward to next year already. Thinkjng of driving to England next time though, the bags are getting heavy and aren’t to pleasant to carry with a burnt back😓😭

Why Umbridge is hated more than the other villains:

The other villains usually don’t reveal their evil until the end of the book, and spend most of the book either in disguise as someone else or being considered little more than a mild nuisance.

The other villains are more cartoonish. Are you really gonna take Mr. “My plan is to release a giant snake” seriously? Mr. “I couldn’t even kill a baby” seriously? Mr. “I wanna be a Hitler allegory, but the author is only willing to go so far into it, so I feel more like Senetor Kelly from X-Men” seriously? Mr. “My plan is to make a kid compete in a tournament to get him to a graveyard to my master instead of just taking him there myself” seriously? Mr. “I’m a narcissist who doesn’t reveal my crimes until a couple of children threaten me” seriously? Mr. “Disguise myself as the family pet” seriously? Hell, I take the crap The Dursleys do more seriously, because they act like actual child abusers, which leads us into the next bullet point.

Most people have met someone like Umbridge. Umbridge, unlike the other villains, acts like and uses the same methods as real-life abusers. She tries to make the entire class hate the target of her abuse. She attempts to gaslight Harry and constantly accuses him of lying. She emotionally abuses staff, and tries to tear Harry’s dreams down. She uses her government status to force people to do as she says, and get rid of people she doesn’t like. She sends the cops to drive Hagrid out of his home. Many people had a teacher, coworker, church lady, neighbor, relative, etc. who acted like Umbridge.

She’s also a more realistic depiction of racists. She doesn’t run around practically bragging about her racism, she mostly keeps it to herself except behind closed doors in order to protect her reputation, and then tries to make her discrimination look like it’s for other reasons, such as trying to get Hagrid kicked out and arrested by claiming he was aggressive.

She also later joined Voldemort to further her own career in Deathly Hallows, specifically taking a position as a judge in charge of putting muggleborns on trial and having the Dementors kills them, meaning she not only fully condoned all of “Magic Hitler’s” actions, but sought to take advantage of them.

NOT Why Umbridge is more hated:

Seriously if you try to accuse people who hate Umbridge of Sexism, you’re despicable and probably defend real-life abusers on the basis of “They’re not as bad as the male abusers.” That, or you ARE the abuser treating everyone around you like scum, and then claiming you have “a right” to do so.

It’s ok to like Umbridge for reasons like her being a well-written villain and stuff, but don’t try to defend her actions, especially when they’re realistic in regards to real-life abusers.

Weird Dream - Oct. 17, 2019 - The one with Heroes.

welcome, one and all, once again to my wild fucking dream ride.

on last night's episode, i ran around hollow earth with Peter Petrelli, Tracey Strauss, Hiro and Ando, with guest appearances from: The Yakuza, The Company, Angela Petrelli's floating brain, Nathan's re-animated corpse, a Shanti virus infected Claire Bennet, and the human spider Mohinder Suresh.

It is in a drug den where we begin our scene, and Angela Petrelli's just had her brain ripped out by an unknown evil that everyone thinks is Sylar but Peter's like "guys, i know it looks bad, but i can guarantee that it wasn't him." but he won't say WHY he can guarantee that it wasn't Sylar. Just that, he knows with 100% certainty that it wasn't him what did this atrocity.

Then suddenly we're all running for our lives in what amounts to an underground version of the romulan mining ship Narada from the 2009 Star Trek movie. We are all three yelling at each other about who the hell pissed off the Yakuza THIS time. Of course Hiro’s blaming me because Peter can apparently do no wrong. And Peter’s blaming Hiro because Hiro must have done something to piss them off. And so we’re running for our lives in a cat and mouse game with the goddamn yakuza. For some reason, we are all aware that we are in a place called Hollow Earth. Me, Peter and Hiro are separated from Tracy and Ando. For some reason Peter can't copy Hiro's ability, so the poor bastard is having to teleport both me and Peter around. We get cornered and somehow I end up teleported alone to Tracy's location. She's just lost track of Ando in a casino and she's being blackmailed. I find out what's going on and try to stop her from going through with whatever it is they're trying to make her do. and she turns to me and she says "I can handle one measly, snivelling senetor." and she strips off her coat and walks confidently into this dark room like she's about to commit a murder and is 100% confident that she will get away with it.

After this she comes running out in nothing but a bra and panties and has a bite mark on her arm and is freaking the fuck out and i'm like "wtf happened? who did this? i'll kill 'em!"

chaos ensues as the power goes out and there's this eerie moaning. and i hear squelching and there's this awful smell. and then... i hear it. the gurgling voice. I grab tracey and we gtfo of there as fast as we can. i'm dragging her down a corridor and ando's there at the end and he tells us to duck and so we drop to the ground and there's an arc of crimson lightning above us and tracey screams as she's dragged into the dark and i'm being dragged with her because i don't want to let go of her hand. i've got to save her but then her arm comes loose and i'm holding her arm and there's so much blood and then i'm being dragged down the hallway back towards Ando and there's Peter and Hiro and i throw the arm at Hiro and I'm yelling at him about teleporting me to this place and Hiro's very apologetic and says they found out what happened to angela and we have to get out of there asap.

So we start running and the yakuza are after us again but we find our way to some facility and it starts to look eerily familiar in that way that is very unsettling like... you go to say a fast food place that's part of a chain, and then you go across country and there's another one, identical to the first one. and you've NEVER seen one with identical layout and design before and it's just.... both familar and unsettling? that kind of thing. so we're in this facility and we're being led past some cells and i finally get a good look at myself in the glass of one of the cells and i'm so damn exhausted. it turns out i'm Adam Monroe. But at the same time I know for a damn fact that I'm not. But now at least I know why the hell Hiro teleported me off somewhere else.

So anyway, we're led to an office where, lo and behold, there sits Claire Bennet. coughing blood and trying to hold herself together. And she's like "fucking finally! Someone take him to level 5 and start draining those veins!"

so i'm freaking the fuck out because i'm NOT Adam! I know for a fact that Adam is dead now. Because Arthur Petrelli killed him. How i know this i haven't a fucking clue, but i do NOT want to end up being a goddamn bloodbank. Peter seems really put off by this, too. And that's when i realize where we are. We're in a Primatech facility. Me and Peter try to make a break for it, but Hiro keeps fucking freezing time and then the bastard has the audacity to lecture me about making sacrifices to be a hero and i'm like "god fucking damn it! i just wanted to take a vacation and have weird kinky stranger sex with my boyfriend and instead i'm having to save the motherfucking world! AGAIN!"

and then the shambling corpse of Nathan Petrelli staggers out, his head flopping back and there's razor teeth in his throat and he sort of slams his neck down on claire's head and eats her brain. and Peter's like "i fucking told you guys it wasn't Sylar!"

And Ando is trying to fry Nathan's zombified body and all it's doing is making it twitch a bit and finally i've had enough and i grab ando by the arm and suddenly i'm not Adam anymore and my hands are sparking and Hiro's really confused and Peter's just like "....so..... that's a no on the sex then." and i'm freaking out because holy shit i've been Peter this entire time. so if i've been Peter this entire time who...

And that's when my brain just decides fuck it, let's just run with this wild ass adventure and me and "Peter" blast undead nathan with red and blue lightning and he fucking explodes and there's Nathan chunks everywhere and Claire's still kind-of conscious and she's screaming and her brain is exposed but it's not healing and that's when Hiro, not knowing what else to do, grabs Ando and me, and i reach out and grab "Peter" and the four of us teleport away.

We end up in a room of jars. and in these jars are brains. brains floating in some kind of liquid, and there's a man at a desk. and it's Mohinder. And he's putting a fresh brain in a jar of goo and Hiro is disgusted. Ando is freaking out because he's reading the carefully placed labels on the jars and he's like "Holy shit! He's got the Hatian guy's brain here!" and "Peter" is looking around and he's like ".....you know.... why did i never think of this?"

and that's when Hiro and Ando figure out that "Peter" isn't Peter because I'm Peter and "Peter" is Sylar and yes, i've apparently been fucking that for a while. And Hiro's freaking out like "he killed your brother!" and i'm like "yeah, and i just helped him do it again!" And Ando is trying not to retch while Mohinder is crawling around like a freaking ass spider, stopping only to pet his jars of brains and goo.

And that's when i woke up.

there’s so much housework i need to do but it’s 10:32 and i’m NOT able to do it right now. we don’t have a front porch light outside because the screen door kept hitting it and it just broke. it’s so dark outside without street lamps. the moon is so bright sometimes it’s easy to see outside but there’s still the lurking danger of a snake or 17 year old teenage boy

i’m also afraid to sweep up the leaves in the front yard b/c of scorpions but Mother says there aren’t any but i’m not so sure. unless she made a deal with the scorpion queen to keep me from seeing one in real life i’m always afraid.

and there’s the problem of stickers. goatheads? i’ve looked online and they’re sometimes called grass spurs i think. they hurt so much and there’s so many in the front and back yard but not as much as there used to be. i want to Destroy them but they keep appearing, persistent. i admire their tenacity.

we’re supposedly moving across the street to another house by the end of the year and i’m afraid. i’ve lived in this house that i am sitting in for 22 years and i have a hard time of letting things go and adjusting to change but i think everyone is in a way. sometimes change can be good.
