The Morrighan did not fare quite as well as Brigid:
The one that didn't quite make it through so neatly was the Morrighan, who as a Goddess of Magic, War, Learning, Sovereignty, and Shapeshifting is very much akin to Odin. Because the Morrighan is a deity with a highly sexualized and warlike element that dealt directly with the barbaric frenzied slaughter side of war She was feared even in the older stories. This meant that she became an archetype of demonization and the Satan syndrome, in a way, in that she became a repository of much evil and the ways older concepts of Fae and demons could and did blur into each other in points.
As the Washer at the Ford the Morrighan is a harbinger of Death, as a Goddess of Sovereignty she is associated with Irish Kings. Her symbolism, the Hoodie Crow, is that of a corvid, and corvids in ancient times were seen ambiguously as they are carrion eaters who for understandable reasons were drawn to battlefields.
Two large irish breakfast teas (3 tea bags each) and a few bowls to mentally prepare myself for my trip to the grocery store via public transport.
On another note I saw my cat sitting and just fixedly staring at my altar I keep for the gods. Not like oh I'm gonna swat this all in a minute. But like when he stares happily out the window sometimes. Asked him if the gods were talking to him and he chirped and laid down near me for pets and scratches. So yeah, that's my morning so far.
The Crown Keeper and Fearne&Orym reunion is going to be very interesting because you have Fearne, who hesitated to take the shard because of the impact seeing dark!Fearne had on her, possibly seeing Opal again.. like this. She gets a front row seat to one of her very good friends heading down that path of corruption that she herself was scared of.
Then you have the Crown Keepers just seeing the toll these last few months have had on Orym and Fearne. I wonder if there would be any guilt from Dorian, knowing he left and came back to such a drastic change.
That Orym did get the answers he was looking for and he is crumbling under the weight of them. That Fearne has had to experience so much more loss and anger in these last few months than she had in over 100 years and she still doesn't know what to do with some of these feelings.
the fact that it’s been revealed that this clown of a wizard Ludinus has been searching for the Raven Queens name for so long helps make the plot line all the way back in EXU: Kymal about Morrighan The Lagomor, this random ass rabbit girl hopping around Exandria, following the birdsong of a Raven, destroying busts that had the OG Raven Queen’s name makes so much sense now.
Last drawing of 2023/ First of 2024 and some drawings I never posted last year <3
Of course its all CR lol
1 - POV, you've pissed off the bard. (college of swords)
2- drawing of Orym sketching, cosplayer is @brondoescosplay on instagram
3- I have a slight fascination with Morrighan and what she implies for the narrative
4 - Nana Morri! a drawing i did for my dorym ghibli film inspired fic cus i love the old ladies in those films
I will say to all the people critiquing it, I get that it’s a sudden shift BUT these two stories are happening at the same time. They most likely will have effects on each other bc of the characters relationships with each other.
What if opal DOES succumb to the spider Queen or she dies?? Or any of the other crown keepers die?
Orym and Dorian will have lost 2 (or more!)of their closest allies within DAYS of each other. Thats gonna make some real juicy story points.
And if Dorian dies. Juicy juicy juicy.
I get it it’s change, change is hard. But I’m so giddy about this.
I think these stories are so intertwined that it makes COMPLETE SENSE for us to go see what the crown keepers are doing. Of COURSE.
