For Aziracrovember week 1, gift/cozy/South Downs. I love the idea of Crowley doing things "the hard way" (no miracles) to show Aziraphale his love.
I haven't made a comic in a long time, and lesson learned: draw on bigger paper!😅

“Hey.” He stands there, dressed in a simple white cotton t-shirt and matching light blue shorts, displaying a nicely developed farmer’s tan at the spot above his knees and ankles. “Sorry,” Cobb says, scrubbing his hand over his face and looking away. “I’ll get out of here. Let you wash up.”

There was the slightest brush against his glowing fingertip, and he sucked in his breath. He extended his finger, reaching, and hit soft resistance, like he was pressing against someone else’s finger.
My first crack at Lokius with a New Year's ficlet. It's also my first digital art with the tablet I got for Xmas! I had this image as a pencil sketch in my notebook for a few weeks, and I thought it'd be a good first digital drawing. The story grew in my head as I drew. A good way to wrap the year.

Killer Queen (Click for better quality)
The companion piece to <a href="https://www.tumblr.com/sofscribbles/733979191499014144/click-for-better-quality-image-for>my previous comic</a>. We so often see Crowley going out of his way to be sweet to Aziraphale, so I wondered what it would look like for Aziraphale to do the same for Crowley. I figured a night out, dolled up, listening to his favorite band would be just the ticket!

Summary:
A werewolf hunter coming to town is not a good sign for Sheriff Cobb Vanth, but as the seasons change they'll learn how to live together in this small town.

The Feathered Serpent, digital art, 2024
My first ever Good Omens Big (mini?) Bang art! My wonderful writing partner @wayneverneseque-phd wrote a gorgeous fic, The Feathered Serpent, for the Good Omens Minisode Minibang. It takes place in Tenochtitlan (the capital city of the Mexica empire) in 1521, during the Spanish Conquista.
I fell in love with it from the description, and the fic itself was just as good--a nuanced, well-researched, and heartbreaking story. It was exciting to see Crowley and Aziraphale in Mesoamerica, and how they reconciled their ideologies with their chosen roles (Crowley as a priest of Queztalcoatl, Aziraphale as real-life Franciscan friar Geronimo de Aguilar).
What was even more exciting to me, though, was that it gave me a chance to explore my own indigenous Mexica heritage through fan art. I don't feel very connected to my roots, so it was remarkably healing to research and create this, especially the mural of Queztalcoatl.

Dream of Stars (click for larger image)
I couldn't get this idea out of my head: what if Crowley sought out Dream of the Endless to help him forget his heartbreak? I'm not sure if demons dream, but if any one could, it would be Crowley, who we know has, "something other demons don't: imagination."
Made with copic marker, colored pencil, jelly roll pens, and washi tape on pen & ink paper. 7"x10". (I really wish I could show off just how shiny the shiny bits are, but they don't scan well.)

My first time doing an art vs. artist! 2023 was the year I really got into traditional visual art: pencils, copic markers, posca markers, even some polymer clay! Good Omens was a huge source of inspiration, and I even tried my hand at some short comics. I'm excited for some upcoming projects, and have plans to try out new mediums in 2024. Should be fun!

After the heart-wrenching cliffhanger at the end of S3 of WWDITS, I had the NEED to see my favorite vampire/bodyguard duo being happy together.
One of the things I love about the show is how it folds in each character's background and culture in subtle ways. Being half-Mexican myself, it's been especially delightful for me to have Guillermo as a character.
I decided on a festive Winter Solstice piece--as the longest night of the year, it surely has important significance to vampires! However, I loved the idea of Guillermo and Nandor sharing their cultural winter holiday traditions together--Chelle Night (the Iranian winter solstice celebration) and Noche Buena (Christmas Eve).
Piñatas are part of Noche Buena celebrations (which we all know Guillermo comes from a long line of piñata farmers, so natch Nandor would get him one) and reading poetry by Iranian authors (such as Hafez) is part of Chelle Night (full disclosure: my knowledge of this holiday is unfortunately limited to internet research). I also realize that at Nandor's age, there's a chance he actually knew the poet personally!
Most importantly though...what's a celebration without glitter and creepy paper?😆
Made with alcohol markers, glitter glue and washi tape on marker paper.
