a social media idol au | scaramouche x gender neutral reader

synopsis after the disaster that was the live award show, where you and scaramouche got into an argument on stage after both of your groups got a tie for top artists, your guys' PR teams have been in shambles trying to scrape up your mess. that's when the idea to send you both off with some other idols to a remote location for a survival dating show to mend your public image comes up. before you know it your bags are packed and you’re on a plane to a remote island. the only obligation is you need to end up with scaramouche at the end of the show, whether you end up liking him or not doesn’t matter to your managers as long as the show’s ratings stay high. whatever you do in between to get there is up to you!

The Spring Festival livestream is tommorow, but since timezones are confusing, I'll try to add some info for clearance 💖

Should I?

It had felt like a few hours by now since you had first seen Sukuna at your class, when in fact, it's been days. You had been too scared to actually try and talk to him, to see if you could make things right.

What would he say? How would he act?

You didn't know, it was just a matter of time till you worked up the guts to speak to him. Constantly glancing over at his spot where he sat, simply trying to gain a glance from him.

He knew you were here, so why didn't he come say hello to you himself?

"That's all for today, class," Toji announced, running a hand through his hair and making a few students gush in the background. "You may leave a little ahead of time so have some fun before going to your next classes. Be sure to do your homework this evening too, it's twenty-five percent of your grade."

As the commotion of students standing and gathering their things buzzed around the room, your eyes fell onto the back of Sukuna's head again. He was currently packing his things in his bag as yet another suitor waddled over and began talking to him.

He seemed uninterested in the girl's tactics, as he simply stared and shook his head when they asked for a date and number. Sukuna didn't say anything as he put on his jacket and bag and then left.

This would be your only chance, you told yourself as you quickly grabbed your things and tossing your bag over your shoulder.

Rushing out of the room, you headed into the direction Sukuna left and stood confused in the middle of the hall, students and other teachers walking past you as you looked around. Sukuna had simply disappeared into thin air.

Damn, you sighed, fixing your bag up and heading towards your next class. Maybe next time.

. . .

One whole month. Still hadn't talked to Sukuna.

"You mean that little punk-ass kid you liked when you were little?" Getou asked, his weekly visit to your roomies being interrupted by your ranting.

"He wasn't a punk," You said, your cheeks flushed pink. "And it was just a little crush, get over it."

"That's my line."

Getou took a sip from his soda can, clicking to another channel on the T.V. as he waited for your roommate. "Shouldn't you just say hi?"

"I can't," You let out a groan, laying down on the couch next to Getou. "I'm nervous. I haven't seen him in over a decade.. it's insane he's here anyway!"

Getou gave a low chuckle to your little rants, listening calmly until your roommate called on him for her sexual needs. Sighing, Getou crushed his empty drink and stood, petting your head as he walked away.

"Hey, just go talk to him," He said as he tossed his can away, already undressing his torso and undoing his hair pin. "He probably misses you as much as you miss him.. or whatever cheesy romance movie you think you're in."

"I don't think I'm in a cheesy romance movie, asshole," You grunted, turning on your side and pulling up the couches decorative blanket.

Getou soon disappearing into your roomie's room and the sounds of a creaking bed soon echoing throughout the dorm rang loud as you grab the paper with Sukuna's dorm number on it. You quickly grabbed a few other things like your phone and a necktie and exited the, now noisy, dorm.

Quickly tying the tie to the doorknob, you looked up directions for your campus on your phone as you went down the dormitory hall. There wasn't much noise this week, most of your neighbors had practice or were nursing hangovers from their previous party the night before. It was a Friday. Normal behavior for them.

Not you though.

You weren't the average party goer, but you have been to a few with Gojo and Getou, and didn't really enjoy your time shared on scene. Most girls were hooking up with the closest thing they could grab, Gojo being one of the obvious targets and leaving the party with at least two women strapped to each arm.

You understood his charm, though it never worked for you.

"Why don't you just let me?" Gojo would often ask the moment he was drunk enough, his lips a pretty pink as usual with some type of alcoholic beverage tainting his normally minty breath.

"Bet I'd make that pussy cream so hard too~.."

And around then he'd earn a one-way ticket to getting his ass kicked. You were always reminded of how much of a man whore Gojo was during the weekends and breaks for school. Playing with more than one persons heart and ending up with another phone number under his belt.

Though, in your mind, Sukuna's behavior seemed different from Gojo's.

He was quiet and rather harsh to any girls that had wanted to "date" him during his younger years. If you'd even consider dating at such a young age.

Anyways, you had finally made your way into the men's dormitory. A weird smell hitting your nostrils that you assumed was a 'man's smell', though you choose to ignore it as you make your way to the second floor and try to find Sukuna's dorm. It wasn't long until you were stopped by some drunken boys that made you sigh and explain your situation. Though, it fell on deaf ears and you pushed past them to the next floor.

Third floor: No luck.

Fourth: No luck.

You were about to give up when you saw the long awaited number of Sukuna's dorm. With a relieved and nervous sigh, you gave yourself a proud smile and slowly walked up to the door. You didn't hear anything from inside, but you knocked all the more and waited patiently.

After a few agonizing minutes, the door clicked open and you saw a messy haired and sleepy Sukuna. His eyes were dazed and droopy, some indents of the bed sheets he was probably sleeping on imprinted on his face and arms. His shirt was messy and his sweats were not really much different except for their grey color.

It had been so long since you saw him, and it was strange to see such a difference in him.

He didn't have any bandages on him that'd signify that he was just in a fight, minus a band-aid that was on his finger. Sukuna also appeared more mature, and grown. Nothing like the boy that you left behind in the Sticks.

"Ah- H-Hello, Sukuna.." You mumbled to yourself, unable to take in the cute sight of Sukuna being tired. Maybe he just woke up?

"Hmmph.." He responded, rubbing his eye and trying to take in who you were. What was your name again?

"Wait.. Y/n?"

Sukuna's voice let out a croak, coughing as his eyes began to focus on you. There was little hesitation before you smiled even brighter and blushed a little, waiting for a hug from him, even if it was brief.

But what you expected wasn't what you got.

"What are you doing here?" Sukuna asked, his eyes narrowing and his posture changing. He went from tired and leaning against his door frame to arms folded and full attention on you.

It wasn't in a friendly manner either.

"I-I was asked by our Economics professor to come see you!" You stuttered out, feeling a small pit of sadness well inside you at what little recognition he had towards you.

Didn't he miss you? Not even a little bit?

"Well, you can go now," Sukuna huffed, his eyes more red than when he was little. "I'm doing fine."

Such harsh words. Not even a hello?

"Wait, don't you miss me?" You asked, your voice strained, that childish flutter in your heart. "It's been so long, don't you want to get to know each other again?"

"Not really."

Why were you so persistent? It was strange, you've never wanted to see someone this badly. And it had been years since you've even had a thought about Sukuna.

Were you coming down with something?

"Is that all?" Sukuna asked, his voice weak and tired, rubbing the tiredness from his eyes once again. "I want to get some sleep before classes."

"Um.. y-yeah," You mumbled, your heart aching as Sukuna closed to door on your face and left you confused.

Why didn't he miss you?

I kinda want to talk about this idiot for a bit. I obviously dont want to talk about Valkyra’s character toooooooooo much since a lot of what is up with her tm is a big part of the game’s narrative, but theres a bit of a different aspect I wanted to talk about.

Valkyra lisiri was a character that was really just an awfully written character. She was this too cool for school didnt need any friends hyper competent soldier who was actually written as a bit of a villain. One who would rather defend the status quo rather than actually try to change anything. It was edgy and over the top and just bleh.

So how did she become the main character in the game I am most focused on? Well what ended up happening is I had a lot of ideas for games at the time, and threw this one together as a bit of a throwaway project with these characters as that I didnt really care for anymore and the idea was to make something short and move on as a bit of a prequel to the thing I actually wanted to work on.

(this sprite is two years old now! but you can see that the general look is still similar)

Well that clearly didnt happen, because the more I worked on this short throw away project the more I thought about what I could actually do with these characters. What I could do to make this setting more mine and not just rip off of sci fi series I liked. And as I wrote more and more the more things changed and were altered to the point where any of it is barely recognizable anymore-and I love that so MUCH!

It was no longer a prelude for another game I was working on or this half assed setting but has become something that I am incredibly passionate about! I told my self that I would try to focus on smaller projects but I cant keep myself away from this thing and these characters.

(o7 mech game concept we hardly knew ye-the concept was being on the run as a mech mechanic for a mercenary company where the gameplay revolved around fixing mechs)

While work is going much slower than I would like, due to mostly personal reasons, I really am proud with how things are really starting to come together for this project. I didnt really start focusing actual attention on it till probably the past year or so.

I think part of why this project means so much to me, is that it has taken something from a part of my past self that I dont really like, and made it into I think something far more interesting, far more fun, more technically impressive, and just so much gayer. And these once throwaway characters of little regards, have really become the core focus of the project.

Valkyra Lisiri went from this heartless action hero who could do anything, to a much more general person, struggling through life and trying her best, and often her best was not enough. Those actions of course having their own painful consequences, that shaped her into the character she now is.

Siane Vokir went from this really bitchy agent of the state to someone who at the drop of a hat gives up everything to fight fascism, someone who now has trouble dealing with her past and people in general, and just so many layers to her character.

The game has been so thoroughly ship of theseus’d that all that really remains of the first like year of work is just some characters have the same name and maybe a similar appearance, and that is just a fascinating and exciting thing to work with!

Anyways this post has gotten a little bit all over the place, but I guess I wanted to share some of this project’s history. I dont talk about the actual details as much as I should whenever I post stuff, because I have a pretty hard time with a lot of this stuff sometimes! I wanted to make posts talking more about the setting and the characters but that kinda got uh forgotten.... well maybe I will get back to that at some point.

If you guys haven’t heard, technoblade or Alex has passed away

I wasn’t his fan from the very beginning but in covid, around one and a half year ago, I started watching minecraft and the dream smp

Techno already became my favourite

Over a year ago he posted a video titles “where I’ve been”

Technoblade usually didn’t really upload and us the fans made that an inside joke but when we heard what happened, we were shattered to our cores

Technoblade has been suffering from cancer in his right hand for over a year, in the video he had told us about how he found about his cancer

Hearing the news, many minecraft players put up a purple ribbon on their skin, I don’t play minecraft so I just put that in my usernames, it stands for cancer treatment

Then he made another update video, telling us how he’s going for physical therapy

After that he also made a vr video, said that he woukd continue the series, in the video he sound3d so much better, like his health was getting much better

Did we speak too soon?

Today in my area, at 10 o’clock morning I opened my iPad to see if stranger things’ new episodes have been released

When I suddenly saw a notification from techno, I got super excited that maybe he’s gotten better

But then

My heart sank

Shattered into too many pieces to count

As I read the title

“So long nerds”

I immediately clicked on it, forgetting about stranger things.

We were met by techno’s dad and his dog floof.

He told us that technoblade had passed away. At 10 o’clock in the morning, I felt hot steamy salty tears run down my cheeks as I gripped my iPad, hoping it was all a sick joke

That randomly we would hear techno saying “TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIESSS” or “CANCER, IF YOU WISH TO DEFEAT ME, TRAIN FOR ANOTHER 800 YEARSSS” but that never happened

Techno had left a last message for us fans

His real name was Alex, which he greatly trolled us with “Dave”, he wanted us to live long and happy lives

And he told us something we never had heard from him, but we always knew that in our hearts

“I love you guys”

His dad’s voice cracked and he also cried

Telling us about how much techno was struggling to write these words for us.

I and millions of fans, his loved ones, family, friends all miss him dearly

He was an inspiration for millions of kids in the world.

For me, his humour stood above all, he himself for me stood above all

I always had his potato war series in my downloads, cause I knew that if I was ever really sad then his videos will definitely make me laugh when no body else can

I don’t have words to describe how I feel

My condolences goes to his family and friends, who lost him as Alex

We lost him as a legend, a god, an awesome human being, and as technoblade

Maybe only Alex has left us, technoblade will always be remembered in our hearts, he will always be part of our good memories, where I would stay up till 2 just to watch his streams because of different time zones

And now I’m here crying, literally sobbing as I write this, I haven’t been feelings very well but today when I heard about what happened, I sobbed hard.

I remember feeling so excited when I would always hear “startin the streammmm”, it brought me joy and comfort which I am really realising today.

I’m sure many others have too

Week 4, Art and Nature

Who am I to interpret nature through art? Well, I am the observer, I am the audience. I am merely a student who yearns to see the world through the eyes of the artist. To interpret nature through art we are limited by what the artist chooses to show us. We can choose to go deeper and do a meta-analysis of the period the piece was made, and the socio-political views of the time. We can look into the prevalent scientific paradigms in that era, but ultimately we are only shown what the artist wants us, the audience, to see.

A piece of “art” that immediately came to mind when reading this week's material was Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, likely due to my history with my old choir, which gave me the opportunity to perform a Vivaldi masterwork in Carnegie Hall, New York. Vivaldi wrote each piece in a way that, in my mind, perfectly construes the feeling of each of the seasons, with cold dissonance and harsh rhythms of winter, to the slow calm legato of summer. Even in Autumn, you can hear a mirroring of spring which comes directly after the last remnants of summer dissipate. While this may not be the usual view when asked how you interpret nature through art, I resonate with music more than paintings. The way a series of notes rhythms and volume levels can convey information and the feeling of a story being told by the composer is just fascinating to me. Lyrics or no lyrics, the message, meaning, or interpretation can still be understood.

As for the gift of beauty, discussed in the textbook, the principle reads, “Interpretation should instill in people the ability, and the desire, to sense the beauty in their surroundings—to provide spiritual uplift and to encourage resource preservation“. My interpretation of the gift of beauty is the ability to find oneself in a sense of awe just by viewing (or hearing) something you find beautiful. This obviously will vary from person to person, I personally find the ocean of great beauty, and I'll find myself watching the tides for hours just basking in its vastness, feeling at home. While others are terrified of the sea and want absolutely nothing to do with it. Some people find peace and tranquility deep in a forest, while others are filled with panic and dread. I guess ultimately beauty is all up for interpretation, and that’s what makes it beautiful. There are no concrete criteria that make something beautiful, it changes depending on who you ask. But often for everyone, there will be some aspect of nature that fills you with a sense of beauty, and with that feeling comes another, one of protectiveness. A desire to preserve this beauty so that others can experience the same, may that be your friends or family, future or present.

I leave you with this, what do you find beauty in? And why? Don't just give me physical attributes, but tell me what it reminds you of, how it makes you feel.

UM ive been thinking recently abt hsd … im maybe incorporating my mfks swap au where mafuyu and emu are childhood friends and mafuyu considers emu to have saved him and puts her on this pedestal for it and being very bpd abt it bc hes incapable of being normal in close relationships . a princess and her sworn knight !! slaps the knight mafuyu you could fit so many knight motifs here

um and also ! hmmm i rly like thinking abt the mino hona rui triangle where minori rui r cousins and rui desperately wants to repair their severed relationship bc mino drifted away when she gave up on idol work and rui was abt to give up on performing but took it upon himself to do street music and join akito to go. this is what i wanted to do in a different way then i wanted to do it and i want you to be able to do that too (she does) (‘online idol’ sort of) and minori and honami are unitmates and shes their housekeeper and theyre good friends sort of kanade hona dynamic bc mino is more k unless with rui where shes kind of shihocore . and then rui LOVES honami she is his best friend they hang out all the time bc rui attends miya girls

SPEAKING OF SCHOOL TOO theres a few school changes um … mino and ena have the same mostly online courses and see each other sometimes . and k goes to miya girls w the rest of yyj and kohaemu miya mafuharu kamikou aaaand all i can think of. … considering touya going to a fancy music school and therefore not meeting akito the way he does in canon nd instead sticking w kasa . ive been thinking abt them a lot THIS IS LONG FUCK yeah o7

Game Development Journey 2

I've made plenty of progress in my like 3 days of working on this game

I'm going with wave function collapse (there's plenty of articles on it) to generate our map

Weather or not I've actually managed to make wave function collapse is up to debate, but I certainly tried!

So here's some of the code and explanations:

Here are my variables, I hope you like them

This it my _ready() function, which runs when the game is run

randomize() generates a random seed

in my variables you saw start_x and start_y, that defines the starting point for my generation

Here, if the start_y is 3 it runs a function called floor_top_generation() which I'll go over later

If start_y isn't 3 then it checks if it's less than height which is 40 at the moment

If it is, then it runs a function called floor_edge_generation() which I'll also go over later

Then it runs a function called wall_fill() which I'll also go over later

Then neighbors(x, y) same thing

This while loop uses the neighbors(x, y) function to create an array of all the points that need to be tiled

The for loop was what i was working on before I had to write this

Its supposed to go through the array and tile everything that the while loop put in there

Now for all those functions I was talking about

floor_top_generation() :

If x is 0 it places a top left corner tile

If x is equal to width which is 72 currently it places the other top corner

If x is neither of the two above it places a top floor tile

floor_edge_generation() :

If x is 0 it places a left edge floor tile

if x is width (72) it places a right edge floor tile

otherwise it places a center floor tile

wall_generation() :

It takes the x coordinate and makes a wall at that point

not sure what else to say about it

wall_fill() :

it defines x as width

then defines a while loop that breaks when x is less than -1

the while loop calls wall_generation() with the current x

then decrements x

neighbors() :

this function uses Godot's built in operator(?) to find all the neighbors of the inputted tile

writing this made me realize an error

using this the way I was going to would cause me to have duplicates of coordinates and while that won't break it

it certainly isn't good

Miztli's story update

I woke up with tons of ideas and i got some progress in the story. I decided im gonna divid the whole story in 3 parts since trying to keep it all in one place is gonna be messy. So I'm gonna call them books: (you know kind of like atlas) book 1 for season 1, book 2 for the season 2 and obviously book 3 for well season 3. The story is just goingt o cover till season 3 of the show since after that Miztlis involment would be less importat kind of... you'll se. Can't really say much cause its spoilers but its just gonna cover 3 seasons of the show.

Also beeng thinking of changing the name of the story, no idea as to what, gonna keep thinking on it while i write. ALSO!!!

The whole timeline for book 1 is written down and i have the outiline for the new 4 first episodes.

Cause ye im kind of re-writting everything. I was planing on keeping stuff but now that i have a better understanding on the story and what i want Miztli to go through, some of the stuff i wrote no longer works ;w;

So yeah, im thinking if i should write all the outlines for all the episodes or just strat writting, but we'll see.

And thats all, im also planning on doing a blog specifically for this story where ill post all the chara references, have an ask blog open and also reblog anything lmk related and stuff.

Me desperté con toneladas de ideas y logré algunos avances en la historia. Decidí dividir la historia completa en 3 partes ya que tratar de mantenerla toda en un solo lugar será complicado.

Así que los llamaré libros: (ya saben, algo así como en atla) libro 1 para la temporada 1, libro 2 para la temporada 2 y obviamente libro 3 para la temporada 3.

La historia simplemente cubrirá hasta la temporada 3 de la serie, ya que después de eso la participación de Miztli sería menos importante… ya lo verán. Realmente no puedo decir mucho porque hay spoilers, pero solo cubrirá 3 temporadas de la serie (no temp 4 lo siento).

También he estado pensando en cambiar el nombre de la historia, no tengo idea de qué, seguiré pensando en ello mientras escribo.

Toda la línea de tiempo del libro 1 está escrita y tengo el esquema de los nuevos 4 primeros episodios.

Porque estoy reescribiendo todo. Estaba planeando conservar cosas, pero ahora que entiendo mejor la historia y lo que quiero que pase con Miztli, algunas de las cosas que escribí ya no funcionan ;w;

Así que sí, estoy pensando si debería escribir todos los esquemas de todos los episodios o simplemente empezar a escribir, pero ya veremos.

Y eso es todo, también estoy planeando hacer un blog específicamente para esta historia donde publicaré todas las referencias de chara, tendré un blog de preguntas abierto y también publicaré todo lo relacionado con lmk y demás.
