kim was shot by roy in 8x16 and then killed by hailey and buried by vo*ght but when jay was shot by angela nelson in 7x09 why didn't vo*ght kill angela nelson? and let them get away with it?
That's an interesting question. You are definitely right; Jay and Kim were both kidnapped and shot, but Voight handled each suspect differently. Why is that? Here is my answer:
If you think back to S7, the Angela West mess started in 7x06 when Jay and Voight accidentally imprisoned an innocent man and got him killed. And to protect their careers and the Chicago Police Department, they decided to cover up evidence in the case. Even though they had solved the Marcus West issue, Jay still took it hard and blamed himself for the innocent man's death, so he decided to secretly help Marcus West's wife, Angela, and their son. Things were fine until they both got kidnapped, and Jay finally came clean to Angela about who he is and what he did. This led to Angela shooting him and the events of 7x10. So why did Voight let her go? I think the main reason is that he realized that Angela wouldn't be in this situation if the CPD had done their jobs right the first time. Marcus would have been a free man, the actual killer would have been in prison, and Angela and her son would be in a better place. He knew Jay was blaming himself for Marcus' death. Voight also felt responsible for what happened. Voight may have hated Angela for almost killing Jay, but he also felt bad for that woman and her son. Her entire life is falling apart because of CPD's actions.
On the other hand, Roy Walton is a monster. He not only tortured and killed the Deputy Superintendent's son. He also killed all the young girls he was trafficking and shot Kim Burgess. Up until 8x16, no one from Intelligence or CPD had done anything to destroy Roy's life. Roy was a monster; letting him go free would only destroy the city of Chicago. Voight and Miller had a close bond, and when Miller's son was found dead, he made it his duty to find the person responsible. And along the way, he found more bodies that made him hate Roy even more.
Like Jay said, Angela West is a good person who was just in a bad situation. A bad situation because of Voight and Jay. The only reason why Angela was dealing drugs and doing some stupid stuff is because she was desperate to keep her son alive. I hate that Angela shot Jay, but I understood why she did it. She was angry, hopeless, and frustrated at herself, Marcus, and Jay.
I hope this helps you understand the reason why Voight acted differently in each situation. Your question is definitely valid and reasonable.

49. Moon Waltz - Piano Version — Cojum Dip
Tuna, i don't know HOW you picked this song but it's literally one of the most heart wrenching things on dbhc Tango's playlist so. congratulations. i think <3 I think I said ages ago in some tags that Tango was about to get the dbhc Etho Angst treatment, and i got very quickly distracted/consumed by Destruction and Doc/Xisuma related Angst, but boy oh boy am i glad i get to finally hit on a little bit of this poor man's trauma LDFKJGDFG
I'l try to keep this brief but. I'm insane enough about the hermitcraft season 8 finale as is, and even more than that i'm crazy enough about Tango's hermitcraft season 8 finale, and then on top of all that, you're telling me a jaded, bitter android whose characterizing moments of anger and failure are carried on his sleeve is the same android who tried to be the hero and save his friends, only to let an oversight be the reason he not only fails, but destroys his body in the process???? ?? ? A machine who isn't supposed to make oversight mistakes???? A machine who somehow let a rabbit be the reason he failed ? ? ??? I dont know what you expected from me other than to be extremely unwell about him and this whole arc in general
The base version of this song is just as good, but something about the piano version gets the vibes just right for these scenes... Something about the waltz-style cheeriness of the vocals contrasting to how horrific the lyrics and situation actually are. Idk man i'm fine don't look at me

Non Kai Stan’s have no idea what it’s like to go from literal YEARS where the ONLY characteristics of Kai was being stupid or insulted by other characters.
To a season that not only gives him focus, but also does his character RIGHT and makes him fun and enjoyable again.
Dragons rising is everything I have been begging the series to do ever since I created this account and I am SO FUCKING GLAD it FINALLY happened
God bless you doc and Kevin you mean everything to me

every now and then i'll be on hermit's stream or something and they'll mention something about S8 with the modifier of "i know not everybody liked it" (scar was the most recent person i saw do this, on his stream earlier this week) and it is at that point i have to once again reconcile the irreparable harm that reddit has done to society

do you think that kevin likes to call others racists as well as his "best friend" adam whom he apparently doesn't know (8x08) and he himself is a racist? and that adam was right in 8x16 that kevin thinks he's the perfect human being and is afraid of losing his "good human status"?
I don't think Kevin enjoys picking out racism from a group, I think he would like to include the entire police force as a family, but it's difficult when he meets cops who clearly have no care or concern for how African Americans are treated in the community.
I don't think Adam is a racist, and I don't think Kevin considers him one. Adam has done some questionable things, but I don't think he is actively attacking the black community or really any race with his police power, unlike Doyle from S7 and other cops from S8. It's really a complicated topic to discuss, as I like both Kevin and Adam and especially enjoy watching their bromance. But what Adam said in 8x16 was harsh. I understood that things were intense at the time, Kim was missing, and they were running into constant dead ends. Adam is losing his mind, and when Jay and Kevin constantly remind him to do things the right way, Adam gets even more annoyed. But what he said about Kevin thinking he's a perfect human is not true.
I hope that all the characters realize that they aren't saints. They have all screwed up, some more than others. Kevin wants to be a good cop, but he also wants to help his community. He sees the black community suffering because of racist white cops and wants to make a difference. But I don't think he claims to have the "good human status".
And just because someone has made mistakes in their past and wants to make a difference now doesn't make them a bad person or a hypocrite. It makes them a person who is growing in a good way. Realizing and learning from your mistakes is a difficult thing that everybody struggles with.

S8 Finals
trapped on this gay ass train for 80 years
L is a former scientist turned revolutionary, who after attacking the project she used to work on and killing one of the lead engineers, was arrested and supposedly executed. She wasn't, instead she was kept alive for her knowledge, though her mind was broken to keep her compliant. Her wife, S, wasn't aware of this, and for many years thought she watched her love die. Until they were reunited on the maiden voyage of the train that L helped build. L didn't remember S, but trusted her enough to help her overtake the train.
Things went horribly, horribly wrong. The train was not what anyone thought it was. It instead contained a horror more dangerous then they could have imagined, and now it is set free. L regains her memories, and realizes what they have to do.
In order to prevent the collapse of their reality, they needed to slow the train down as long as possible. The only way to do this is to die very slowly and very painfully, and L offers herself up for the task. S stays with her the whole time, and they are finally in each others arms after so long apart. They spend 80 years by each other's sides in that engine room, and by the time the train finally arrives, they are nothing but a pair of warped skeletons, now forever embracing.
Time travel yuri
It’s Character A’s mission to kill Character B. Problem is, she hasn’t figured out how to accomplish that, and ends up pretending to be Character B’s friend to learn more about her. Character B has the power to control time. She’s been through all this before, and knows it ends in both her and Character A’s deaths. Except that Character A couldn’t bring herself to kill Character B after everything they’d been through, and a third party is the one that kills them both. So Character B turns back time. Knowing she’ll die one way or another, she’ll only allow herself to be killed by the girl she loves. So she wipes her memory, only leaving her love for Character A intact, and tries again (and again, and again…)

On this New Year's Eve, are you too thinkin' bout season 8's: "I did everything I could to get you out! Everything... I did not leave you!" "Nothing you could have done would have saved me, because I didn't want to be saved... After the things I did... I didn't deserve to be out." and season 15's: "I left, but you didn't stop me."?? Because let's be real - Cas would *not* have stayed if Dean had stopped him as he didn't think he deserved to have Dean's acceptance/love. (can't believe that 3yrs later on I am doing 180 on this - i.e. initially thinking that Cas not staying was a result of Dean not asking)
anyways, I guess this is your usual reminder that Dean saving Cas from the Empty & saying "you don't think you deserved to be saved/loved?" is the only series conclusion that would've made perfect sense. See you with the same message, just rephrased differently, next year!
