OKAY SO what with the TWO new Hermits implied by the updated banner I will say that, though the Skizz truthers have me convinced, I now have room to do my own crazy red string monologue and throw my hat in for my choice
Tumblr media
1) Mythical J. Sausage (the J is silent) is a multitalented S-tier builder that absolutely deserves to be shoulder to shoulder with the Hermits. The man does buildings, interiors, terraforming, custom trees, and he does them SO WELL.
2) The production values!!! Beautiful replay mod sequences with shifting camera perspectives, shaders, music that sets the tone for each segment that's different from series to series. He already has more than a million followers on YouTube and for good reason!!
3) He has been SO consistent lately. He started a hardcore world about three months ago (about the time you might expect the Hermits to finalize their s10 choices maybe...???) and already has 15 episodes and hasn't gotten involved in any other big content. (He did just start playing a little of the BCG server but from what I understand that's super casual /copium copium copium).
4) That hardcore world is conveniently about to reach a good "pause" point. He started his world on a cherry blossom biome island that he's filled with a medieval village and starter farms, he's said it's almost full and what's left is the castle. I'm guessing the new season will start the first week of February, so if Sausage puts out a video this week building out that Castle and finishing that island it will be MIGHTY CONVENIENT TIMING.
5) This man can GRIND. His Hardcore world hasn't even been going half a year and he's built... So much??? Magnificent! And when he was on the Hermitcraft server he did the Razorcrest for scar AND the player head baby yoda/stormtrooper merch AND the noteblock themesong AND still built in the xmas village and other "diamond of peace" and so many other shenanigans. Did the man even sleep? He can grind with the best of them.
6) He can do redstone, too! Maybe not unique designs, I honestly don't know, but he builds farms for build materials no problem.
7) The DRAMA this man loves his improv and his backstory and trauma lore! For every series he does! Can you imagine if he gets to interact with Ren for an extended period of time, what that would do to them, to us?? Give Martyn a run for his money!!
8) Which brings me to my next point, which is that Sausage is already One of The Gang, because he's been in series with so many of the Hermits already! Empires and the crossover, obviously, but also Pirates with Cleo and Origins with Scar, and he's even done MCC! Joel is the only other player with the same depth of different series but there are other people truthing him already.
9) The EPIC BROMANCE with Pearl. My god the devotion of this man to his sunflower goddess bestie. I would try to do ot justice but y'all have seen floweroflaurelins work, you already know.
10) He's already a PG streamer but with HILARIOUSLY PG-13 tendencies. Imagine him and Cleo cracking each other up at an HHH stream, *grips your shoulders* IMAGINE IT.
11) Sausage comes with his own mascot in the form of interdimensional dog extraordinaire Bubbles, but he's also just an animal lover on general. Mans drinks his "I love Jellie" juice and had her in his world even before the sad news of her loss.
12) Diversity win! No one should be hired just for their gender, race, sexuality etc etc unless it's truly necessary to the job, but we were all happy when more women got added to the server in s8 and I know a lot of people would be happy to see some ethnic diversity added, too.
... That bulletin board had a lot more pins in it than I thought it did but anyway MYTHICALSAUSAGE TRUTHERS/ALL OTHER TRUTHERS RISE UP SPEAK YOUR TRUTH! we'll only get to wildly speculate for a few weeks so we might as well make it everyone else's problem ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST!!

Have you played the first volume for s8? If so what are your opinions? xx
Hey, thanks so much for asking! 🥹
I haven't played it, and at the moment I don't plan to! I deleted the app after S7 because it was just such a chaotic, unenjoyable season -by the end I was just going the chaos route, dumping Joyo for Bryson at the final dumping and then getting together with Evan at the after party 🤷‍♀️
As soon as S8 was announced alongside the S7 ending, I was just over it. If they're gonna keep releasing new seasons in quick succession without a proper break in between, then I'm not here for it. To me the product isn't that great and it's clear they're heavily relying on AI - despite their recent claims to the contrary (while their CEO has proudly said previously that they do use AI...??)
I will say that I like the art style of the characters much better than S7, but none of the character reveals excited me. The applications were the same old same old, and Theo's reveal kinda disappointed me because he wasn't what I wanted from a Greek playboy looking to finally settle down (and from what I've heard, that's not how he acts in the game either). I liked the MC's reveal but then I saw the outfits with the first volume 🤣 I can't take another season of complaining about the ugly outfits
I said before the season released that it would need to blow people away for me to consider redownloading the game. So far it doesn't seem to be doing that, and in the last couple seasons the 1st volume was always the best before it went downhill with more clear use of AI and repeated dialogue. I can't be bothered with that, but if FB actually used writers to write the full season instead of relying on AI, then I'd be willing to give it a chance
I will say that Jin sounds hilarious - I saw some screenshots of some of the things he said, and those were well done. I hope that keeps up!

J2 Gold Panel Torcon 2022
These poor boys must be exhausted, especially Jensen, they got woken up by a fire alarm at around 5:50 am in their hotel so they are running on very little sleep. They both debated evacuating…and then decided not to, oh boys, and they got annoyed because the alarm went on for like 40mins 😆
The first question is where was Jesse the antichrist at the end? Because this fan thought he would be the one to defeat Chuck since you know he’s the antichrist.
Jared says that once the spn train headed on certain tracks it stayed the route but it would have been fun to have him back. Jensen says it was cool to see him again on The Boys - for those that don’t know the actor that played Jesse, Gattlin Griffith was on The Boys this season playing Gunpowder -  that when he showed up he told him he looked familiar and the actor was like ‘yeah’ and then when Jensen figured it out he was like ‘oh my gosh, you grew up!’. Also, Jared recalled how he threw a shoe at the boy when he was 7 and working on spn (he didn’t throw it at him he threw it in his direction in some weird attempt to be funny and then was like my bad) 😂
With the show running for 15yrs, and all the serious storylines, was there a point where they picked up a script and read something that made them go ‘really this is what we’re doing? this is ridiculous but okay’?
Jared says the first thing that came to his mind is when s5 ended and Sera Gamble took over the show. Everyone at the time was wondering what they were gonna do now and since he was in LA he met up with Sera to congratulate her and catch up, and he took the opportunity to ask her about s6 and she told him about Sam coming back soulless. At the time, on the outside he was like, “cool, sounds great man” but on the inside, he was wondering what that meant and how he was even supposed to play that but because he had had that conversation with her, he had months to figure out what to do.
Jensen says they got a lot of those wtf moments reading the scripts but something spn did very well was taking risks, they swung for the fences a lot. He brings up something Kripke said once: that it’s not jumping the shark if you never come down. And spn never came down they just kept going. x
With the number of special effects involved over 15 seasons was there ever a special effect where they were told one thing and then it aired and they were like ‘that’s not what I pictured’?
Mr. Jensen ‘ I hated the fight scene in the air between Michael!Dean and Lucifer’ Ackles says nothing can come to mind. Because there was very little fat in the scripts and the show was so streamlined, everything they shot made it into the show, and everything that was planned generally happened it was very rare that there would be some left-field thing that would occur in the final product that they weren't aware of or it wasn't in the script. Sure buddy, I believe you *guffaw*
Jared says there were times when the brothers were saying each other's names differently; he gives a scene from s8 as an example. There’s a scene where Dean says “hey, Sam time to go” but it’s a hallucination so for the sake of special effects Jensen had to make weird expressions because later on they would add distortions and shake the camera. He also mentions the vampire fangs; he says those sucked because you would get fitted for mouth guards, top and bottom, but they were rigid so if you had to play a vamp the inside of your mouth was cut up afterward. Jensen says that you also drool everywhere because you can’t close your mouth properly. Jared quips that Jensen drools anyways 😆
Jensen recalls when Lindsey, the actress who played Tessa the Reaper, in the s2 premiere she had to touch his face but had contacts on and couldn’t see so when she had to put her hand on his face to bring him back Jensen had to move her hand into place.
A fan points out that’s on the gag reel so they mention, once again, how many hours of content they have from those and Jared starts to say they could do an entire season of gag reels like 15 episodes that's like, and I quote, "here's every time they were jerking off-" as a joke on purpose funny, as the Freudian slip it was hilarious. You can actually see him freeze in real time as his brain process what he just said, is that what you and Jensen were up to that morning Jared? 🤣
Who does Jensen think would win in a fight between his new character Sheriff Beau in Big Sky, Dean, Soldier Boy, Michael!Dean, or demon!Dean? And who does Jared think would win in a fight between Sam and Cordell?
Jared says, Sam would kick Cordell’s ass. He loves Cordell but he’s a bit of a softie he would not want to fight, but Sam’s like “I killed Lucifer, what are you gonna do to me?”.
Jensen says any mortal version of a character’s out so bye Dean and Beau. Demon!Dean has supernatural powers so goodbye Soldier Boy cause he’s just a tough guy with a bad attitude. At this point, Jared interjects and compliments his man saying Soldier Boy has great hair and great glutes which makes Jensen all bashful ❤️
Then Jensen continues and goes with Michael to win the fight because he thinks an archangel is probably top dog in that scenario. x
Canada related question: as boys growing up in Texas what was their impression of Canada when they were young? And was there something that really surprised them when they started living and working there? Jared says his impression of Canada was that it was a lot like America just a little nicer with more bears and moose but then getting to Canada and spending a lot of time in Van he was struck by how beautiful it is. He’s been fortunate to travel for work or for play but not a lot rivals walking along the Seawall in Vancouver; it's a beautiful place with really kind, passionate people, and that he’d never heard more about hockey in his life but it was a distinct honor and pleasure to consider Canada a second home.
Jensen says they do a thing in Texas, he’s not sure if they still do this but they’ll find out with their kids going through school, where an entire year is spent learning Texas history alone. And then they move on to US history, and the following year is world history so Canada got lumped into world history which is a lot to cover. So for him growing up, Canada was just the friendly neighbor to the north. But when he got there geography wise it struck him as interesting, and he might have the percentage wrong, that 90% of Canadians live right on the border of the US, which struck him because Canada is huge. Also, a large percentage of that 90% live below the northern border so if it’s looked at on a map most of the US is actually above where most Canadians live because it dips down in Ontario and a majority of the population is there; so he found the geography fascinating. He also mentions the people, and that he's made lifelong friends. I didn’t know this man had such a love of geography.
Jensen also says that he and Jared can certainly consider it a second home, and his only complaint about working for so long in Van/Canada is that it wasn’t his home. x
Last question of the panel! If Jensen could be any character besides Soldier Boy who would he wanna be and why?
Jensen says he wouldn’t be the Deep 😂 That he texted Chase on one of his (Jensen's) days off and asked him how work was and Chase replayed that honestly, he doesn't know if he’d be able to work again after doing what he’s doing 🤣
Jensen says he’s happy he’s got to play who he did and he certainly wouldn’t change it but if you take Soldier Boy off the table he’s a huge fan of Butcher who he feels is the extreme version of Dean; he’s what Kripke wanted to write Dean as but couldn’t, and Karl knocks it out of the park every take so it was an awesome experience.
Jared mentions that he got a text from Kripke on his birthday saying he couldn’t believe he was 40 that he remembers thinking Jared was too young to play Sam now he’s too old; and that Kripke also asked him when he's gonna go play on the show (The Boys) and Jared replied he’d love to he just has to do 4 months of squats cause he knows Kripke will show his ass. I would love, love, love to see Jared on The Boys so 🤞 the schedules can line up and it'll happen. x

i’ve been rewatching csi from the beginning (because i’ve never been able to make it past season 9 without grissom) and i’m finally up to the end of season 7… i have like 3 episodes left and i’m SAD. this team dynamic is so special to me and i feel this slow crawl of devastation that i’m (again) witnessing the end of what has been for 7 seasons. soon sara won’t be her usually cute and passionate self (in love too) that we get see in season 7, and she’ll leave, and then warrick is going to die, and grissom will leave… and nothing will ever be the same on this show. i don’t know how to get over it. how did you do it? how do i move on? how do i mourn this team dynamic that i’ve loved for so long and get used to new variations of the team? god, i wish grissom came back for a proper full ep earlier than the freaking series finale and the new show. i’m just… not sure how to enjoy without them all 😭
hi, anon!
yours is a very heartfelt question, and, unfortunately, i am probably the wrong person to answer it, because i never really "got over" the changes to the show post-s7, either.
not gonna lie to you: i have only watched the s10-s15 era of the show once through in its entirety.
the s8 and s9 angst i can deal with in order to get to the happy gsr ending in episode 09x10 "one to go." however, i hate all later seasons of the show beyond that point with all the salt that is in me, not only because of the cast turnover but also because the writing and production values of the show changed so much as to make the series (and the remaining characters) unrecognizable.
most of the time, i just straight-up ignore the fact that those seasons exist, preferring to imagine my own canon-divergent au version of the show (starting from the end of s7) instead.
i really do not engage with them unless someone sends me an ask.
that so, i can't exactly tell you how to learn to accept the new team or get comfortable in that altered narrative landscape. i never did, on either count.
instead, my advice is this: keep in mind you're not obligated to finish watching csi if doing so isn't enjoyable to you. you fell in love with a particular group of characters, story universe, and cast dynamic, and if those things went away or ship of theseus'd themselves into a production that is fundamentally different from the one you fell in love with in every way save name, you don't have to stick around anymore.
remember: you're watching this show as a hobby, not a job.
the #1 rule of fandom is to follow your bliss, so if you're not naturally motivated to finish the series—and especially if the thought of doing so is actively causing you dread—then you don't have to force the issue.
give yourself permission to say, "for me, the series ends with episode 08x01 'dead doll' or episode 09x10 'one to go' (or wherever you want to draw your line in the sand)" and then walk away.
if you need closure, write your own au version of what happens after that point or else find some fanfic author whose vision aligns with your own. keep living blissfully in your s1-s7 happy place with the original team graveyard, where grissom is the boss and sara stays in vegas and warrick doesn't die and they all keep solving cases together until retirement.
and then don't sweat it.
you're not being a "bad fan" or letting anyone down, and there's still plenty of material in the early seasons for you to engage with.
now.
if you absolutely feel you must finish the show (for whatever reason), i guess one thing i might suggest is to engage with work from fans who genuinely enjoy the later seasons. i know there are some folks in this fandom who adore the new characters and team graveyard version 2.0. they write meta and fic and make gifsets about it, and they have a total blast doing so. hanging around their blogs might help you to find things to appreciate.
another thing you might do is give yourself permission to "cherry-pick." watch just to see what happens. if there's stuff you like, go ahead and incorporate it into your conception of the show. the rest, discard. as i said above, you're not obligated to enjoy the show in a certain way and especially not "across the board." so if you like the fact sara has mother-in-law drama but hate the fact she gets divorced? then keep the first thing and toss out the second. if canon makes a stupid-ass decision, you can elect to ignore it.
and regardless of whether you ultimately decide to finish out your watch-through or not, don't forget: the beginning of the story—i.e., those seven golden seasons you so love—will always be there, and you can return to them as often as you want. the beauty of a story is that it exists in perpetuity. grissom, catherine, warrick, nick, sara, and greg will all still be there waiting for you, and you can continue to enjoy their dynamics however you best prefer them.
good luck, anon! if you choose to continue your watch, i hope you enjoy yourself. if not, then i hope you have fun mentally setting up shop in the early seasons.
i certainly do!
thanks for the question! please feel welcome to send another any time.

It's kinda funny seeing people mourn the original concept for The Lego Ninjago Movie, which involved the ninja traveling back in time to stop the Great Devourer from biting Garmadon, and fighting snake warriors. Because we still kinda got that, in the very same year no less?
Hands of Time is an interesting case in that it's kind of a transitional season, the end of an era; It came out the same year as The Lego Ninjago Movie, and was meant to take up the Winter slot before TLNM showed up for Summer. It was our last season with the traditional designs, and for a while our last season with a Weekend Whip-style remix of intro, before TLNM and led to a soft reboot in the Oni trilogy. The Oni trilogy gave us updated designs based on TLNM's, under the original plan of attracting new fans from THAT continuity over to the main one. I believe it's even jokingly implied within the show that the butterfly effects from the time travel of S7 led to the S8 redesigns! And Legacy kinda contributes to that idea...?
The point is, 2017 was a strange year for Ninjago with a lot of change, even in different writers who temporarily replaced the Hagemans, who eventually did leave for Wildbrain to take over. One could argue Hands of Time was created as a way to pad out time between Day of the Departed and TLNM's releases! And Day of the Departed drew a lot on prior Ninjago entries, so it was like a whole year just waiting for TLNM to premiere before applying it to mainline Ninjago canon.
And I think that applies to Hands of Time, because a lot of it is based on that old TLNM concept I mentioned earlier! Early designs for the snake warriors from the first draft of the film were repurposed for the Vermillion in Hands of Time. It was a story about time travel, and so is Hands of Time. The Great Devourer plays an important role, being the incident the ninja are trying to prevent in TLNM's first draft, and in HoT, the mother of the Vermillion horde.
Obviously there are differences; TLNM's first draft centered around the past as the primary setting of the story, and it was about the heroes trying to undo a past evil. Whereas for HoT, time travel isn't achieved until the last episode, and it's about villains trying to undo past good. But a lot of the concepts were clearly carried over and repurposed, because they were perfectly good concepts drawing on previous ideas mainline Ninjago already explored (snake warriors, the Great Devourer's legacy, time travel).
A few years later we even got the Golden Hour short, which continues the story of HoT just a bit more, and has Wu almost allowing Acronix to unwittingly prevent Garmadon from being bitten by the Great Devourer; The original goal of TLNM's time travel draft. And probably how that draft would've ended, if Lego had rolled with that plot instead.
So while some are insisting TLNM should've been about this original concept, it's ironic to me because we technically still did get that first draft, in the same year as TLNM, right before it! So 2017 really is the year of TLNM, all of it, even Hands of Time. And as I said with Day of the Departed, it also draws upon a lot of past Ninjago events, lore, and concepts, such as the Serpentine War, Elemental Masters, Great Devourer, and Chen alluding to Ray and Maya. Krux was introduced via his alias in Day of the Departed. It kinda feels like a remix, like the Legacy and Core lines we'd later get.
That again gets me back to the idea that it's almost as if Lego was trying to do a final callback/retrospective on classic Ninjago as we knew it, to prepare us for a new era heralded by TLNM, and they used up basically a whole year as they waited for the people working on TLNM to figure things out. Before DotD is Skybound, which is technically retconned, and that makes Possession feel like the last big arc for Ninjago (before TLNM) that brought new, lasting things and wasn't worried about being second fiddle to some other production. It did give us ghosts, the sixteen realms, and establish Nya as a primary ninja. Possession is also the latest in terms of Legacy representation; Skybound, Day of the Departed, and Hands of Time are left out.

supernatural s7e16 out with the old (w. jenny klein, bob singer)
Tumblr media
goofy ass way to kill someone (i guess the red shoes reference?), but i'll take actual ballet dancers dancing in media any day :) and tchaikovsky's swan lake is one of my all time favorite pieces of classical music
youtube
did you know swan lake has a happy ending in some productions? this abt version has them yeeting themselves off a cliff to die together and reunite in heaven but some they kill off the baddie and everyone is together and happy. anyway i totally cried again watching that finale clip lol
moving on
Tumblr media
the pristine unworn pointe shoes to the side of the gore made me laugh. so dumb
Tumblr media Tumblr media
why won't they let them wear actual cold winter appropriate clothing?? they must have been freezing in their little light fall jackets.
SAM Yeah, well, every time I close my eyes, Lucifer is yelling into my head. It's like I let him in once, now I can't get rid of him. DEAN You know he's not actually... SAM Yeah. Yeah, no. I know. Uh, try telling that to the volume control inside my brain. DEAN Well, did you try the hand thing? SAM Yeah.
💔 but even i can't resist suggesting that maybe dean could help you with more pain
Tumblr media
black vintage firebird yes please and thank you. there was a trans am in 5.13 the song remains the same too, wrote about a boy who had one in my high school lol
Tumblr media
oh god the poor girl in the pointe shoes. laughing and cringing. i was thinking she's young but maybe she just looks really young, i started pointe at 11 (which was too early most likely). anyway thankfully they didn't have her visibly doing much of anything. whew
DEAN Getting the strong urge to Prince Siegfried myself into oblivion? Yes. SAM You really did see "Black Swan."
yes swan lake reference!! i finally watched black swan here not long ago, i'll watch anything with ballet but it was a little too scary for what i could tolerate in my headspace there for a good while.
SAM Geez! You okay there, Baryshnikov? DEAN Yeah. Yeah, I'm "pas de done."
(you know male ballet dancers generally don't wear pointe shoes, right) baryshnikov is my fave and i actually got to see him perform - sadly not classical ballet, but with the white oak dance project back in early 2000s.
youtube
this has other dances doing the same variation, but baryshnikov is first and this is one of my favorite things (i have this performance on vhs). it is perfect for his acting and obviously his technique and power is jaw dropping. the gasps and cheers from the audience with that first big jump, seriously💯
cursed kitchen object does not give me joy. me: why is sam so impatient, he keeps snapping at everyone. oh right, no sleep, satan-vision screaming
DEAN You know, I wonder how old porn kills you. SAM Pretty sure you don't want to know.
oh, sam. you can't power through sleep deprivation
JOYCE We have a chain of command here, George. You see a Winchester, you don't eat him. You tell me, and I eat him.
Tumblr media
again with the awful photoshop job on dick. and i dunno what program he's supposed to be using there with an excel like sum button
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sammy saving the day. wonder if he kept the sword
Tumblr media
apparently this is the third episode with bad moon rising in it,
via wiki: also played in 1.22 Devil's Trap and 2.01 In My Time of Dying. this sadly did not making the streaming rights so it's some knockoff on netflix (on the radio during the semi crashing into the impala). i already figured it meant bad news this time around, doubly so.
i know a vague plot point for s8 i think but i don't know what happens with sam's head (i don't think, at least) our how we get to what i know from s8. but misery scale is tipping heavier as we approach the end of the season soo. i am so looking forward to the end of the leviathan plotline. i could not care less
it was nice seeing them in an environment with snow. like dirty gray winter weather kind of snow, not just the pretty stuff

💫mall drag💫
aka: charly gets autistic wid it
Rebecca Glasscock sauntered into that workroom on season 1, among the likes of Ongina’s one of a kind fashion, Shannel’s coosstumeees, Jade Sotomayor’s immaculate ‘female impersonation’, BeBe’s polish, and Nina Flowers’ everything - wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and a plastic wig.
and that is fucking GREAT.
drag needs no budget. drag needs no production value. what matters only with drag is the joy you get from it; while the artistry, the expression, the triumph of a Manila elegance after dark or a Violet s8 finale look, are all significant in their own rights, in my humble little opinion, the queer joy of drag is most important.
and throwing on a cheap wig, and a couple clothes straight out the closet, or from the women’s section of primark, experimenting with makeup and coming out a little wonky - all of that, to me, is magic. i hear stories about first times in drag, charity shop dresses and hard front wigs, and it makes my heart sing. it’s easy, it’s accessible to everyone. as queer joy should be. as all joy should be.
when DiDa Ritz trots into the workroom in a shitty wig and some street clothes and no makeup, it’s funny. but the way she has all the confidence in the world as she does it - girl, that’s the magic of drag.
so, if you’re looking to get into that art, don’t let the beautiful, high budget custom made couture on the runway deter you. it can be so, so simple to feel like a queen, a king, or whatever in between or outside or none of the above.

A few days ago I was reading this interview on VLD S6 and one segment stood out to me:
Dos Santos: The initial idea behind this incarnation of Lotor was that you wanted to be able to look back on everything he said and see that there was a hint of truth to everything; every manipulation that he had, there was a hint of truth there. Maybe he snaps at the end, but when he’s pleading with Allura, if she had said, “Alright, let’s do this,” I believe he would have been like, “Okay, great! This is working out. Plan’s coming together.”
Montgomery: Lotor is a product of his upbringing and he grew up in the Galra Empire, so his method for going about things may not be as beautiful and peaceful as the Alteans, but his intentions were true. The funny thing is, had Allura reacted differently, it could have been an extremely different ending. But emotions were high and what Lotor did was unacceptable to her, so…
(This interview took place before the release of S7.)
I believe we were supposed to get exactly that extremely different ending, not in S6, but in S8, as a final reveal.
As I postulated in this meta, Lotor was possibly making use of the Entity by getting the Alteans on the second colony to accept it inside themselves, gain its powers and be capable of protecting their planet, purify raw quintessence and more.
In the final season, under the guidance of either Lotor or the Entity itself, Allura basically reaches the same conclusion, that in order to defeat Honerva, she needs to take the entity inside herself, to become one with the entity. Ta-daa! And that’s why LM says “the funny thing is…” because she knew exactly what that funny thing was and, later on, they would actually circle back to that same thing. And it would make sense from what JDS explains as well: “plan’s coming together”. That was the plan. To beat Honerva with her own weapon.
Just as an exercise, try this experiment: put on the glasses of what I just postulated - that Lotor was actively infusing the Alteans on the moon colony with the entity. And then re-read the EPs’ statements. I think they make much more sense if you start from that premise.

Just 6 episodes for Season 1 of Dunk & Egg?! Seasons are getting ridiculously short.
I was browsing at the Star Trek site Trekcore a couple of hours ago. The series Star Trek: The Next Generation ran from 1987 to 1994. What stands out in the scheduling is that of the seven seasons: four had 26 episodes, two had 25 episodes (if you count the two-hour premiere and finale episodes as one episode each) and one strike shortened season had only 22 episodes. And the seasons were all in consecutive years.
House of the Dragon had 10 episodes in its first season and will have just 8 in Season 2. And it’s difficult to imagine seeing S02E01 before April of 2024 at the earliest.
With all respect to HotD, it’s not the only series experiencing season shrinkage while making viewers wait longer for subsequent seasons.
Westworld ran for four seasons. S1 and S2 were 10 episodes each while S3 and S4 each featured 8 episodes. And the seasons ran just every other year. It took from 02 October 2016 to 14 August 2022 to get from S01E01 to S04E08.
If such series are supposed to be epic narratives, the huge breaks between the shrinking clusters of episodes risk causing viewers to lose interest and writers & producers to lose concentration. Westworld, for example, showed a steady decline in viewers from season to season. Viewership for S4 was less than 20% of viewership for S1.
I wonder if problems associated with GoT S8 had anything to do with it starting 18 months after the end of S7 and containing just 6 episodes.
Whatever the reasons for these fallow and sparse stretches (funding, studio politics, cast availability, pre- and post-production tech work, unexpected stuff like pandemics and strikes, etc.), a narrative series is going to suffer if it isn’t presented like an actual narrative.
Imagine reading a few chapters from a novel and then putting it aside for two years and then deciding to read a smaller number of chapters from that book before putting it aside once again. That’s what the current TV situation reminds me of.
Yeah, so I didn’t expect this to turn into a rant, but I hope it miraculously filters over to media companies and showrunners.

did Arthur go to shit when transitioning to flash or even before then?
I'd argue before, but it just wasn't painfully obvious. After AKOM (yes, that AKOM) left after S11, animation quality dipped slightly, along with writing. S12-15 the writing got incredibly dull, and certain characters like Muffy and Brain became a hyper flanderized shell of themselves (For Brain this was sadly predicted in S8's episode on his behavior). Arthur also awkwardly didn't have much to focus on, despite being the title character
Something to note, the writing staff admitted that they didn't know when Arthur would end after S10, it was out of their control. Season 15 and 14 were made together in dev, so technically the internal wait between them and S16 is 2-3 years. Which meant that S16, the start of Flash, was hinging on whimsy exec ok. So getting 10 eps a year and them being...that is depressing
And as noted, S16 was the start of Flash, from 9Story. There was another shift for writing that advertising noticed: characters seem far more quirky, and episode plots flanderized characteristics more. I noticed nostalgia referencing past eps suddenly sparked, despite inconsistencies popping up. The writers seemed scared of the idea of S16 failing, and I don't blame them. Yet WGBH kept requesting more seasons, so they complied
S20 shifted production to another company, and animation slightly improved. New ep count noticeably started to degrade (from S4-19's 10 a year, to 7, then then 3/4), and S21 they finally admit to ending the series S25. Writing sadly didn't improve much despite less episodes to work on
It's a shame. For the most part, these are the same writers as S4-8's great years. Even the return of S1-3 writer Ken Scarbarough didn't help much, it was a combination of seasonal fatigue and tighter restrictions/exec control that did it in. Worse, Flash/ToonBoom animation in Martha Speaks and Wordgirl was significantly better, even Sesame Street had better animated material. WGBH seemingly didn't want to support their top rated show, just that it was there. At least it ended
Arthur is...in a way, similar to Simpson's in their decline. Only the Simpson's still have a chance to turn themselves around
At least it isn't Cyberchase, that was honestly sadder in decline

sorry to bother you again, i'm the shameless anon. i just wanted to tell you that i watched s10e5 where ian comes home from prison and i gotta say... that final scene where they're all together in the living room and ian holds lip's baby...... i got a lil emo. maybe i WILL find the strength to pull through this and the next season lmao still, some (most) things are truly insufferable but i'm not expecting anything different from shameless at this point, so i enjoy the small things i guess!
((what? you’re not bothering me at all! your ask is my personal highlight of the day!! i was so happy to see you in my inbox 💛✨))
yes! omg that final scene is *chef’s kiss* i got really emotional during that one too! these scarps of good content is what i have been feeding on since late s5 lmao. these moment when you can feel the old shamey coming through are really what carried me through the seasons.
i completely agree with you saying most things are insufferable, but at this point i am so used to it that i’m just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ‘might as well continue’... honestly, i had to stop thinking about everything shameless is doing horribly wrong or i'd go f*cking feral. i mean, if i think about it too much, all the potential that was wasted in s10 bc the writers just didn’t care to explore certain things or drop certain storylines makes me bitter af.
#lmao ask my brother how bitter it makes me bc i have been bitching about s10 after every episode#and we both agree that some poor writing choices have been made#frankly i wouldn't even have bother watching s10 after both cam and emmy left#but then cam returned and so did noel and jeremy was still part of the cast#so i decided to spend 1h each week on this show for 12 weeks#it's not like i would have spent that hour doing something more productive anyway#idk i wasn't happy with how most of s10 went#but it was still better than s8 and s9 in my opinion#which doesn't really say much considering s8 and s9 where excruciatingly bad#tbh i feel like the writers are over the show#so i wouldn't be surprised if they cancel s11 bc of covid-19#they didn't even get to start filming in march so it's not liked they'd 'lose' anything#since the production process hasn't even really started except for the scripts#idk we'll see#i wouldn't be too surprised if they drop an announcement in the future if things don't get better#and as much as i know i will have issues with s11 and might even be frustrated by the ending#i still wanna see were they'll go with all the characters and how they'll wrap things up#i'd be disappointed if they decided to just drop the final season altogether#like i didn't suffer through years of garbage for them to not give me a prober ending of the show#((so sorry for the rambling...#but i have to get A LOT out of my system when it comes to this show))#((i wrote this message in quite a hurry so it might be full of errors and incoherent#sorry about that too))#anon#answer#mish talks shameless#if anyone ever needs to vent about the show i'm your girl#Anonymous

(NOW COMPLETE) A Non-Comprehensive MCYTblr Survey
Hello everyone, I'm soup. In light of Empires S1 ending shortly after Hermitcraft S8 ending, I need to fill my brain crevices until the new seasons come out. Thus, I've decided I'm going to do Powerpoint Night with my friends and force them (all of whom know almost nothing about mcyt or mcytblr) to listen to me talk about my interests.
Specifically, I want to talk about what it's like being on MCYTblr. To make this more interesting, I wanted to collect data and feedback from the community itself. Also, the survey is mainly focused on the fandoms I'm most involved in and know most about. So, I present to you:
Hermitcraft/Empires/3L & LL Tumblr Experience Survey
Important Notes:
- If you aren't in the above fandoms, you're still welcome to take the survey, as only a few questions are fully contingent on the 3 fandoms I mentioned
- Survey will remain open until 2/11/2022, 12pm PST! I will likely share the results once it closes.
Share the survey w/ anyone u know who may be interested!
UPDATE 1: thank you everyone who has taken it so far?? I genuinely did not expect it to be so well received so thank u 😭. It already has over 300 responses so to prevent myself from going insane, I'm probably going to stop gathering responses on 2/5/2022 around 12pm PST. I'm not closing the survey, because I like reading your responses, but I just may not include your data in the results analysis if you submit it after then!
UPDATE 2: Data collection is complete now! The survey remains open for fun, but I will not count any responses in my final product from now on (2/5/2022). Thank you everyone for participating, I will probably share the results in a week or two!

Hey, im curious. Based on the quality of the story and the character arc alone, what are your top 3 seasons of any skam season. Mine are: (1) Skam, S3 (2) Druck, S5 (3) Skam, S1 and based on those same criteria what are your bottom 3? Mine are: (3) Druck, S7 (2) Wtfock, S5 (1) Wtfock, S4. If you don't mind i'd love to know why
hi, Anon! thanks for your ask! so this ask is about to turn skam españa pro/wtfock anti really quickly 😅. but here we go:
top 3:
skam españa s2: nothing else comes close to the the experience watching this season live. that eskam chose to prioritize the girl squad above all else is one of the best decisions a skam showrunner could ever make. giving cris the isak storyline was brilliant and highlighting joana's bpd to the point where we have artwork and resources (you know i love a good resource!) and no season has ever treated a sana character better than eskam s2. "iftar" remains my fav skamverse clip. period.
skam españa s3: taking my least favorite skam storyline (noorhelm) and turning in into harrowing, must-see tv. shining a giant spotlight on the red flags in relationships. not glamorizing toxic traits in partners. yes, this season is hard to watch, but it's an important watch. and the "live" party that was re-filmed in real time. whew eskam's social media. *chef's kiss*
druck s5: wow, what a way to introduce a new squad and have it flow so seamlessly. that the showrunners addressed prior criticisms re: mental health and racism to have such an interesting and diverse set of characters. yes, this was also hard to watch at times, but it came together so well.
(honorable mention) skam españa s1: this is such an underrated season (maybe b/c of how it was filmed?) but it's my fav eva season. all the changes from the original were so spot on. such a believable eva/lucas friendship and that lucas wasn't the snake this time around. alejandro's entrance. 😅 the eva/inés confrontation. how important the girl squad's friendship is to one another. sigh.
bottom 3:
wtfock s4: i mean i doubt many people will disagree with this ranking, but it was so bad. not just cringey bad, but a whole racist mess. with one of the worst mains in skamverse history. mostly i just feel bad for noa, who deserved better.
wtfock s5: the absolute worst sana season ever. not only does the season keep excusing racism, gaslighting the main, giving yasmina the strictest/homophobic parents, where yasmina is more concerned about upsetting them than about her religion(?!) but then they have amber (vilde) physically assault yasmina on top of that? yeah, nope. it just further confirms that the wtfock showrunners/production have no interest in actually confronting racism or islamophobia. and again, nora dari deserves so much better.
skam france s2: i hate the noorhelm storyline with a burning passion, and this is the worst version of it. charles is the worst william. it's like you take a copy and paste job from the original skam, but then make it worse? no thanks.
(dishonorable mention) druck s7: if you take a problematic main (isi, tiff, etc.), then you sure as hell need a damn good redemption story. um, what an incoherent mess. isi remains a problematic character and never acknowledges or faces consequences. what's so troubling is the show's move away from it's characters of colors to going back to the general skamverse/druck old gen's ways of prioritizing white characters, and i fear this trend will continue during s8. finally, ava is so shortchanged, it's criminal.
anyway, those were my rankings based on story and character. thanks for sharing yours!
