Kingdom Hearts IV predictions:
Kairi is the leader of a team consisting of Riku, Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Naminé, Hayner, Pence, Olette, and Chirithy.
Sora’s mother returns.
While Donald and Goofy revisit the old worlds, Sora visits all of the new ones.
The inhabitants of each world returning from the previous games are, of course, thrilled to see Donald and Goofy again, but are sad to hear about Sora’s sacrifice.

Takes place after Cars 3.
It isn’t combat based. Missions include keeping up with McQueen’s top speed by racing down Radiator Springs’ main street, learning how to turn right to go left at Willy’s Butte, keeping up with Cruz’s top speed on Fireball Beach, avoiding pushy competitors with the Thunder Hollow challengers, and practicing with Cruz at Thomasville, culminating in the Piston Cup race at Florida International Speedway, where the objective is to win against Jackson Storm.
Sora enters the world as a custom-made sports coupe mixing a few real-life sports car models before visits to Luigi’s Casa Della Tires and Ramone’s House of Body Art end with him modified into a next-gen race car sponsored by Dinoco (with Tex’s blessing) and with Cruz’s number.
It’s set during Cruz’s first Piston Cup racing season, so McQueen still has Doc’s colors and spends the Florida race as Sora’s crew chief.
As Sora finishes his story, Mater is certainly unhappy with Xehanort’s actions forcing Sora’s hand. “That dad-gum Xehanort”, he says angrily. Extra points if Sora doesn’t get to the part where Xehanort is dead, then Sarge gets in his face and demands him to teach Xehanort a lesson when he gets back in a militaristic manner. “Is that understood,” Sarge yells. Then Sora tries to correct him, but gets cut off and asked again, “Is that understood,” and has to respond, “Sir, yes, sir!”
Of course, during the top speed races, Luigi is the one to signal the race to begin.
In the Radiator Springs race, Sora’s top speed is tracked by Sheriff’s speed radar, and on Fireball Beach, it’s via Cruz’s personal assistant, Hamilton.
If you fail the “Turn Right to go Left” mission, Sora goes flying into the bed of cacti, and Mater fishes him out.
I know I’ll get hate for this, but Cars 2 elements are here. Heck, maybe Mater can’t be present most for the training because he’s busy with Finn and Holley. After all, does he still owe Holley a first date?
I wanted the player character in this world to be Kairi just so Storm can feel the embarrassment of losing to not one, but two “costume girls”.
The Piston Cup race is announced as a 500-lap race, but no game developer is that malicious to force the player to race 500 laps around an oval, so they’d take after the first Cars game and make it twelve laps with the sun slowly lowering throughout the race.

Lacoochee
Mr. Sam Weston wrote an article many years ago entitled, “The Death of a Forest and Town” about Centralia, Florida. This paragraph is especially poignant to the story of Lacoochee, Florida.
"Seventy some odd years ago, a sea of virgin timber blanketed our state. Longleaf and slash pine, two and three-foot in diameter, gave forth of their resinous gum, to tar the lines and shrouds, and caulk the planks and lapstrakes of the worlds navies, and the turpentine was used for medicinal purposes, creating the first and largest industry in Florida naval stores. The lowlands and swamps contributed the greatest volume, highest grade, fastest-growing, durable, red tidewater cypress to be found anywhere in the United States of America. This wealth of timber seemed inexhaustible and lured men and industry from all corners of the earth.
Towns blossomed, nourished by the whine of the circular and band saw.”
The History of Lacoochee Florida

Several wealthy families built homes along the Withlacoochee River, farming in citrus and strawberries. In 1893, the Commercial Hotel was operated by Mrs. W.T. Johns, Proprietor.
Then the freeze of 1895 wiped out agriculture in the area and the town dwindled to a few residents.
The next few decades saw what appears to be lawlessness and shootings from newspaper accounts.

While all this was going on in Lacoochee, a family of “lumber barons” from Michigan, began looking for new stands of large trees to process. In fact, Wellington Willson Cummer (1846-1909) recognized the value of Florida cypress and prolific stands of Florida's pine timberlands. After moving his family from Morley, Michigan, to Jacksonville, Florida, he founded the Cummer Lumber Company in 1896.
To transport the logs their workers cut, the company built the Jacksonville and Southwestern Railroad, a line that was sold to the Atlantic Coast System.

Cummer and Sons began to run out of timber to cut at Sumner, Florida around 1920, so company managers prepared to “get out” by establishing a second mill a hundred miles away.
The Cummer and Sons Cypress Sawmill
The year was 1922 and Cummer and Sons built one of the largest lumber mills in Florida as well as an entire town to house the workers who would come. It was a modern, fully electric cypress sawmill and box factory in Lacoochee. The mill was used to cut the company’s cypress, pine, and hardwood timber holdings in central Florida.
Cummer workers began to leave Rosewood as production slowed in Sumner, leaving a core of thirty black families and one white store owner by 1923 in the town.
The Rosewood Massacre and Evacuation
In 1923, there was a Klu Klux Klan gathering in Gainesville. A white woman in Sumner claimed one of the black workers from Rosewood had beat her and word got to the Klansmen there. “They came in night to hunt us and kill us,” said Lizzie Robinson Jenkins, niece of Mahulda Gussie Brown Carrier, who was a 1923 Rosewood survivor. “They burned the town to the ground. Several residents escaped by hiding in the swamp.”

After turning a blind eye to the destruction of their employees’ property, Cummer and Sons managers arranged for a train to drive through the swamps, picking up survivors of the Rosewood massacre and offering them housing and employment in the brand new “colored quarters” in Lacoochee.
Cypress Trees the Size of Redwoods
The Cypress logging business was big! The trees that graced this area were huge, having been here in the time that California’s giant redwood trees were seedlings according to Lewis Abraham.

Living and Working in Lacoochee
Workers made 10-cents an hour. The company built houses for its employees, rented rooms room for 50 cents per week. Electricity was 5 cents extra per week. There were company stores, and paychecks were paid partially in coupons to be used at the stores, according to Bill Dayton, a Dade City attorney and local historian.

By 1923, the company’s payroll was estimated at over $11,000! The Tampa Morning Tribune reported that this electrically powered sawmill would be able to cut 100,000 feet of cypress lumber a day.
Lacoochee Grew to over 1,000 Residents
The town grew quickly after the mill opened. By the mid-1920s, Lacoochee boasted a two-story, 30-room hotel, four churches, two bakeries, two drug stores, three garages, two service stations, two department stores, three barber shops, several restaurants, two doctors, two train depots, a constable, and more than 1,000 registered voters.
The Cummer and Sons mill complex grew to include a box factory, lumber yard, and veneer factory. The work was hard, but during the Depression any paid work was a Godsend.
At its height, the mill employed more than 1,100 employees and had the largest payroll in the county.

The Labor Movement Comes to Lacoochee
Seventeen years later, on July 31, 1941, a strike was held by over half of the 800 workers employed at the company’s cypress mill, crate factory, pine mill and logging camp, shutting down all operations. At the time, employee wages ranged from 30-cents an hour for unskilled workers to $1.10/hour for skilled workers.
The workers won a collective bargaining election as part of the AFL-affiliated lumber and sawmill workers union and wanted a ten percent wage increase, a closed shop, and five 8-hour workdays. The company would not meet all the demands, so they walked out.

Lacoochee Chose to Remain Unincorporated and the Mill Closed
In 1954, Lacoochee residents held an election to incorporate their area into a municipality. The results were a resounding, “NO,” and Lacoochee remains an unincorporated part of northeast Pasco County today.
On June 5, 1959, the last lumber was milled at the Cummer Sons Cypress Mill. It had been brought up from the Everglades, where Cummer and Sons was still taking out the forests of Florida. They had used up all the lumber in this area.��

After Cummer and Sons closed the Mill, a plywood company, a reinforced concrete plant and a grain mill operated in Lacoochee. None of them had the impact of the mill. More than 50 years after the mill closed, the Lacoochee economy has not approached the glory days it enjoyed when timber was king.

The Best Metal of 2017 (Part V: #2-1)
And so we end another year by counting down the best hard rock and metal we’ve encountered over the past 12 months. If we’re being honest, 2017 was a bit of a come-down after the staggering highs of 2016, which saw three of the Big 4 assert their continued vitality, to say nothing of career-best work by Katatonia and the Deftones. But the 2 best records of 2017 would be stellar in any year, and this year’s #1 is a precise and passionate barnburner that easily transcended the dreaded “supergroup” tag. So without further adieu...
2) Emperor of Sand, Mastodon: this wasn’t the Crack the Skye sequel many were hoping for, Mastodon instead tripling down on the accessibility of The Hunter and Once More ‘Round the Sun. That said, Brendan O’Brien emphasized the band’s interplay more than Mike Elizondo or Nick Raskulinecz, giving Emperor of Sand a warmer feel even as its lyrics offered an unflinching look at mortality. Brann Dailor’s vocals might be the catchiest of the lot, but his drumming remained intricate to the point of parody, and Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher riffed and soloed like a deranged Thin Lizzy. Mastodon has long since moved past Leviathan and “March of the Fire Ants”, but they remain the best major label metal act on the planet, and Emperor of Sand was arguably the big-ticket heavy metal record of 2017.
"Steambreather"
1) Pillar of Fire, Tau Cross: Rob “the Baron” Miller and Michel “Away” Langevin improved on Tau Cross’ self-titled debut with a thoughtful record that could best be described as progressive punk metal. Killing Joke remained the obvious reference point, but Tau Cross (particularly Away’s incredible drumming) became a worthy entity in its own right, transcending the supergroup label and blowing everyone away with songs that were both accessible and challenging, passionate and thought-provoking. Miller’s croaking and growling fused Jaz Coleman with Lemmy, while the band as a whole seemed permanently set on stun. Pillar of Fire was a killer record from top to bottom, pulverizing everything in its path with devastating rhythms, jackhammer riffing and intelligent lyrics, and fully justified Away’s time spent away from Voivod.

"No Gods, No Masters" is not enough. Gods and Masters are imposed from above, and to really be free we need to free ourselves from within: from the dogmas we make, and the idols we create. Dogmas make everything black or white, ignoring the shades and colors of reality, forcing us to choose without reasoning. Idols we blindly follow are just a replacement for the Gods and Masters that people worship.

MELDING PRIMAL RHYTHMS WITH SABBATHIAN RIFFAGE -- HEAVY PUNK IS UNLEASHED.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on bassist/vocalist/songwriter Rob "The Baron" Miller (a.k.a. "The Baron Rockin' von Aphid") of the almighty AMEBIX, c. early to late 1980s, plus two shots of the band's most prolific musical influences.
"The Baron stated in an interview with Lurkers Grave in 2012 that “I would say that with some of the music I was into to at that time, tripping turned things around a little bit. KILLING JOKE were always a very intense band. Hearing KILLING JOKE on acid, you could kind of understand where Jaz Coleman was coming from. He’s got a very primal connection, that guy, and as a consequence he can be a bit unhinged at times, but there’s some genius there.”
Regarding his connection to [BLACK] SABBATH however, Miller went on to say how "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" was his favourite LP that really turned him onto them, stating “I’d listened to Sabbath before but that’s the album that turned me on to them, and that’s probably because I was taking acid at the time and I saw a lot of stuff in there. And like we do when we’re younger, I read a lot into music and lyrics.”

Enough is Enough
Enough Is Enough
Enough is enough! Our Great Nation was established by people with values, people who cared, not only for our country, but also for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Needless to say, the right to see our children murdered time after time before our eyes by Robber Barons who value profit over life was not part of the package (Yes, they are just as guilty as those who pulled the trigger. They are accessories after the fact to murder and they deserve to be held responsible) in the writing of our Constitution.
Also a matter of fact which is just as needless to say, neither was Party Politics and the rule of our Great Nation by the Corporatocracy and Power Elite covered under our Constitution. As Abraham Lincoln said, our nation is a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people. Nothing is said anywhere in our Constitution that we are to be ruled by the very rich and powerful or by kings, queens, or autocrats in any way, shape or form. Our elected representatives are legally responsible to represent the best interests of the people—all the people, and not just the Corporatocracy and Power Elite.
I’ve had enough. Enough is enough. We the people need to get off our behinds and take back our country. Our elected representatives must return to representing the people. The only way, and I mean the only way, we can take back our country is by taking money out of politics—out of campaign financing, and we must do it now—before the elections of 2018. Our U.S. Supreme Court has sold out our great country. Corporations are not people. They exist to serve us—not rule over us. Many of these corporations deserted us long ago and moved overseas so as to avail themselves of slave labor and avoid taxes. They care little if anything about our country. It’s long past time for us to hold them accountable.
If we take money out of campaign financing, we can then move forward toward gaining control over gun control; and, I think, successfully. We must rid ourselves of this Shadow Government ruling over us and our representatives through lobbyists and corruption, i.e. bribery, extortion, etc. If the grass roots, the voting citizens, of this country don’t take charge soon, it will be quickly too late to save us. Of course, I can’t say for sure but after 2018 may be too late. Vote for those who care about our country and our people—not just the rich and privileged.
In closing, I want to express my personal opinion on school teachers and police officers in this nation. As a whole I believe both professions to be among the most responsible and underpaid professions serving our people today. That having been said, and we want to add law enforcement to the responsibilities of our teachers? Also, we want to raise our children in a “hard” atmosphere as opposed to a “soft” atmosphere? Do we really? Do we really want to rob our children of their childhood? Have we come to this? My God! Help us!

Wednesday, June 14: Tau Cross, “Prison”
Tau Cross’ self-titled debut was frequently compared to Killing Joke’s classic albums, but while the comparison wasn’t misplaced (many of the songs on Tau Cross were built on a foundation of tight and propulsive rhythms and churning guitars), it didn’t do the supergroup justice. The brainchild of Amebix’s Rob “The Baron” Miller, Tau Cross was a diverse album that mixed punk, prog and metal and gave Voivod’s awesome drummer Michel “Away” Langevin a chance to streamline. “Prison” was a short burst of force that accurately represented the album’s breadth and intensity: Langevin’s beats were a bit more straightforward, but his playing was forceful and sturdy as ever, while Miller’s croaking evoked both Jaz Coleman and Lemmy. “Prison” was a perfect fusion of each member’s talents, walloping with both power and grace and presenting a new vision for what “alternative metal” should sound like.
